The Grand Mages, my version of The Major Fairies in my Winx rewrite.
The reason for the term Mages instead of Major Fairies is that they weren’t all Fairies throughout history and it isn’t a requirement that they be fairies either. The reason for them all being fairies now is that they’re simply the most common group of magic users left on Earth currently after the great scourge of death and purging magical beings experienced on the planet.
The Grand Mages are chosen by The Grand Council, the delegation for magical beings on Earth, which is now on Tír na nÓg presently.
The current Grand Mages are as follows, some with a lot of info (mainly Sybilla) and some with simple brief descriptions, including so e job descriptions, personal histories, believix info and general lore below the cut:)
Nebula, Grand Mage of Peace. Her title is kept all throughout her history, not changed like it is in the series to war, for peace comes as the end goal, and to that with the Grand Mage title, if war is needed to achieve that, then so be it.
She is the second youngest, older than Aurora by about 900 years, born around the year of what we would call 400 CE. She is around the same age as Morgana, only a few years younger.
She would be classified as one of the Picts in the eyes of humans, born in what would later become known as the area of Scotland at the time before the Celts. As I mentioned in my first ask with her, I know there are issues of debated anachronism regarding The Picts and blue war paint, but it fit her color palette and I thought it looked cool on her so we’re going to say it was indeed a thing in this version of history, but as a result of the magical beings there mainly being the ones who utilized it.
As also mentioned in my original ask with her, she doesn’t always use her magic to treat her wounds, taking certain pride in her battle scars, showing them as a way to say “you see? No matter how many times you try to beat me down, I cannot be quashed. You cannot best me, I will always retaliate and I will always come back and so long as I am alive, I will win.”
Aurora is The Grand Mage of The North, a title given to the being who guards the Lovix transformation. She is the youngest of the current Grand Mages, being only 700 years old. It is her job to preside over the domain that Lovix is connected to (the areas of what are labeled as Fennoscandia) for if the connection to the areas the transformations were birthed from is severed or lost, those transformations cannot be accessed anymore. Her dedication, quick wit, and drive to protect and honor the land her master, The Grand Mage of The North before her guarded, is what lead to her being selected as the next one despite her relatively young age when compared to the other magical beings who served under the previous Grand Mage. This retired Grand Mage now lives at the small community that is located in what we would call Northern Sweden in the wilderness that she and the other followers dedicated to this cause call their home. This area acts as their headquarters of sorts.
Aurora is in change of overseeing all areas of Earth’s Northern Hemisphere and doing what she can to ensure general harmony with the energy of the planet and its environment, with her main focus being on guarding that area Lovix is tied to. Her primary way of combatting any serious issues humans intact on the environment and any disruption they cause is through the use of environmental influence, such as extreme cold, blizzards, long winters, early frosts, etc, causing things like famine, poor harvests, or direct death from the elements.
Diana is The Grand Mage of The South, her main location insulated to where she was born in what is referred to as modern day Bolivia. Sophix is connected to what is known today as The Amazon Rainforest, and this area must be protected with regard to the transformation for the same reason as Lovix. Much like Aurora, she is also in charge of doing what she can to ensure general harmony with the nature and environment of the southern hemisphere of Earth’s planet.
A strong warrior and combatant, she has resorted to more direct force as a tactic to deal with the issues humans have been enacting on the planet, doing what she can to still stay as hidden from them as possible while attacking, or leaving no survivors. Her and Nebula are close, a love of sparring and battle strategy being a large basis for what they choose to do in any of the spare time they manage to have together.
She is the second oldest of The Grand Mages.
Sybilla is the oldest of The Grand Mages.
Her wings are present here, but she doesn’t usually have them out, simply not seeing a need to most of the time.
Lady of Justice is the title given by those of the order of Tír na nÓg, and this was the title given to her by many, magical and non magical, even before all magical beings were either sequestered away to there, killed, fled, or managed to blend in with the non magical beings.
She is much more elusive than the other Grand Mages and despite her very present record in that of history, she isn’t one to be easily reached, only deciding herself if it is worth it, answering to no single allegiance, creed, nation, etc. She is included in the category of The Grand Mages mainly by the choosing of the other Mages, and only agrees within her own terms to be accounted for as such.
Parts of magical history intermingle with non magical history in my thing. Her influence is felt in artwork, dress, customs, and tales from Greco-Roman antiquity, and even the time before that, during the eras of The Bronze Age with the Cycladic, Minoan, and Mycenaean civilizations, and then even before that.
Much like the term irl, Sybilla is a term that simply means prophetess and sprung forth to give to the term sybil, those being what they are in our real world tales too. In my thing tho, this term stems from her name first and went on to become synonymous and defined as prophetess.
There were other sybils just like in old stories, these being followers of hers who wanted to act in her stead and honor and provide their services too.
Sybilla is the supreme head though, and is the grand origin for this.
She goes into stasis for longer periods of time so despite being the oldest, turning to stone by choice, this time acting a long sleep for her. When she awakes, it feels like she has only blinked. Sometimes towns would be built around her stony form, alters erected around her, offerings brought, pilgrimages made. And then suddenly, the mortals will see her “statue” is suddenly gone, and when she chooses to rest again, the cycle begins anew. Sometimes new statues are erected where she used to rest, legends telling that it actually is her and not just a statue, others believing it was just a statue put there long ago and someone decided to steal it so a new one must be placed.
There are many of her form in many places for that reason among other, her acting as a type of saint or figure to be kept to watch over places or people or whatever is deemed to need watching, memorabilia of her present in the forms of previously memorials statues, small talisman type objects, her figure on handkerchiefs, tapestries, walls of buildings, etc.
She has a history of intermingling with non magical beings far more than any of the other Grand Mages, even more so than most magical beings in general. With regard to that and her actions, she chooses to sleep when she feels she has done her job for the time being, overseeing and acting as whatever the mortals feel she is during times of great strife, whether that label be as a guide, an oracle, a prophet, or sometimes even a god or goddess.
She also chooses to rest after helping with grand issues with magical affairs too just the same. She awakens when she chooses to, whether that be because something in the ambient energy of the Earth feels off, signaling a great change, she has been sought out by a being, magical or not, that has made a great plea that she deems worthy, or she has decided she simply doesn’t want to rest anymore.
Her form appears through much of human history in the areas of the modern day Mediterranean and she has many stories about her weaved through old long gone told tales and legends, many lost to time, some still present.
Her aging is less visible than on Diana as a result of her sporadic periods of stasis, who has stayed active and present for her whole life, which has resulted in peak milf status.
She has no eyes, having had them voluntarily removed to be fully dedicated to her cause of what she deems proper judgement and action.

first of all I totally love your Winx rewrite dear .Like so many awesome ones on here (tumblr) I like how you decided to make latter three seasons 4-6) Roxy’s journey to being a full fledged fairy .It’s really cool
ok so questions
what’s the deal with the terrestrial fairies? (Are they different from the other fairies from the magic dimension, and if so how ?) I kinda feel there would some differences (some minor, some major)since they’ve been cut off from magic for a long time(due to the black circle, plus waning belief in magic as a whole) and then it suddenly begins to appear again as magic returns back to earth?
so how are Morgan’s and her generals in your reinterpretation (what with the whole war against humans ,trying to take back the earth from humans and the way their court is set up
.Kinda feels like since their from earth , maybe Each of the major fairies could correspond with a different season?( like Diana for summer,Aurora for winter, etc) and elemental power (same as before, but earth/water,etc) and how the fairies under them go about their journey to being fairies (is it similar to Winx-charmix-enchantix or is it a different system entirely?)
sorry if it’s a lot . I just really like your Winx rewrite so far and I can’t wait to see what you do next with it 😊
Hi hi! Thank you dear you're so sweet!!! I really feel that Roxy's journey should have been the natural continuation of the series. Passing the torch if you will.
So for the terrestrial fairies, I haven't got that much figured out yet. So this is all subject to change and revisions. But I'm trying to keep as much from canon as possible, or at least canon inspired. And unfortunately canon hasn't given me much to work with.
I'm going with the idea that the Black Circle absorbed all of Earth's magic, and so at the end of Season 4 said magic is released. And Earth's going through a lot of growing pains to get used to this new development. In terms of how Terrestrial Fairy/Witch magic works, I wanted it to differ from the Magical Universe equivalent. Best example being my version of Roxy. Instead of just having spells, she has to earn each one by engaging with animals. Once she forms a strong bond with an animal, she gains spells based on that animal's abilities. So she starts out the story with only tracking spells, that came from Artu. And it's the same for the others. You have to engage with the source of your magic to become truly powerful.
I stan Morgana and the Major Fairies, I love them. But maaaaannn were they underused! And I agree that their powers feel kinda random for a major court. Nature, Ice, Justice and War/Peace. Having them be Seasonal would make a lot more sense, plus the aesthetic would be on point. Diana: Spring Nebula: Summer Sybilla: Autumn Aurora: Winter
But it still needs a lot of work. Like a loooooot.
I have the Terrestrial Fairy Enchantix work a little differently. Yes there's still the sacrificial requirement, but it has to be for someone you hold resentment for. To prove you're willing to put aside your grudges and biases to become a fully fledged fairy. But Charmix works the same.
Also no no it's not a lot! I'm honestly flattered that you've taken such an interest in my stuff!

what’s a ship you like that most people don’t?
what is the most underrated ship, in your opinion?
favorite AU ideas for Driven?
what’s your favorite headcanon of Flora/Anagan?
Waw I'm answering this so late it's crazy! What's a ship you like that most people don't?
Actually there are quite a lot because most of my ships are totally fanon so they aren't that popular amongst the fandom. I would say tho that a ship I really like that isn't popular in Winx fandom has to be Klaus/Morgana. Yes they are underdeveloped and seem to appear out of nowhere but I just feel like they complete each other perfectly. Morgana is a queen calm, trying her best to be fair and she has the responsability to take care of all a people while Klaus is kinda goofy trying to take care of his bar and his daughter with a sense of organization near the zero. He's the funny part she needs and she's the only one to calm him down and make him relax. They fit well.
But as a non-canon couple I would say Icy/Timmy. Listen, I know he's afraid of her but I just can't help but love a dynamic where one is in power but also vulnerable to what the other think and says and doesn't even realizes it.
What is the most underrated ship, in your opinion?
I will talk about my ships and it's a tie between two Diaspro ships. Diaspro/Timmy or Diaspro/Krystal.
Diaspro is in desperate need of someone who will treat her right and won't hurt her the way Sky did. But she also needs someone who's gonna calm her bitchy temper. Would Timmy speak his truth and tell her she's a bitch sometimes? Honestly I can see it happen if they learn to know each other. Krystal on the other hand would definitly be empathizing and help Diaspro realizes she deserves someone better but also that she deserves to accept herself and stop trying to be mean at everybody because she's scared nobody will ever love her. These two ships are honestly full of potential for me and I really wish people would talk about them more!
Favourite AU ideas for Driven?
Gosh so many AU ideas are amazing to me. Honestly I'd like the After season 4! AU in a reality where after everything that happens with Valtor, Darcy doesn't end up in a season 5 scheme and would try to either move on with her life and try to be a witch businesswoman or try to take on the world with her sisters for GOOD REASONS (like in the first seasons when they wanted power and recognition because of how bad witches are considered by society and how unfair it seems to them) AND NOT FOR A FISH, face the Winx again and this time Riven has grown up, she has grown up and they realize they still care deeply for each other and have now the maturity to give their feelings the place they deserve.
I also have a soft spot for the motor race AU because of the episode they met each other. If there's a little rivalry because of how good they both are I'd love it too.
Also the AU where they never stopped talking with each other and just don't tell anybody because it's their thing.
And sometimes if it's well written I can like a Riven stays with Darcy even if she wants to take on the world AU.
What's your favourite headcanon of Flora/Anagan?
Oh gosh I have so many... Like it's a tie between:
-They at least kissed each other during their trip to Sybilla's Caves and it's their little secret
and
-If they build a family, Anagan is the "friendly dad" who tries his best to give good life advice to his children and plays with them but ends up being another child for Flora because he's kinda childish when with his kids. But their family works well and they care so much for each other.
Also he felt first and harder, I love this one.

100% yes on the Major Fairies council especially because they all have amazing qualities as leaders but also flaws that can't be ignored (Diana is the charismatic leader everyone wants to follow but she lets all her emotions "unclear" her judgment and needs protection because she's the easiest to attack, Sybilla... you said everything, she's calm and mature but chooses to hide behind "destiny" to avoid taking a side, Aurora thinks of her subjects first (when she distracted the Winx to let her fairies and the animals on her tower run away) but she's way too loyal and doesn't really question decisions made by her Queen... and we all know the pros and cons of Nebula and Morgana....
100% yes to a Major Fairies council
Would it be better if Sibylla was the next Queen of the Earth’s Fairies instead of Nebula??
Ooh, good ask! And yes. One million percent yes. Or is it? On face value, Sibylla is definitely better for the role. She’s calm, and just, and didn’t try to kill all of humanity. And Nebula has a short temper, uses violence to solve her problems, and tried to crush a city to win a scrap. It’s not hard to see who’s a better choice for a ruler.
But! Sibylla knew what was going to happen on the day of the wizards’ trial. But she says she cannot interfere, or stop the Winx’s destiny. Now, I get that this is a Fairy of Justice thing, but a lot of people could have died, and two people did. That wasn’t important enough to say ‘Oh, screw protocol!’ and let the Winx in on the fact that the wizards are planning to betray them? A queen needs to be proactive, not a casual observer who holds herself apart from everyone and only steps in and acts as a villain B&B once you’ve slogged through her obstacle course of death.
And Nebula. Now, I don’t think Nebula was the right choice for queen. Anyone that’s read my second sarcastic comic summary knows that. But if we’re comparing her to Sibylla? Well, it depends. (And we’re ignoring her in season six, because she’s acting like a completely different person.) Her bad qualities are very obvious. As a queen, she’d be terrible at making smart, sensible decisions. She’s looking for a fight. But, if she’s actually undergone the character growth that was implied at the end of season 4? If she’s actually managed to reform? Well, then I think she’d have the empathy down. Whatever someone’s done, she’s kinda been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. She should be able to see where people are coming from, and be lenient and understanding towards their mistakes. I honestly think that if the wizards ever returned, it’d actually be really lovely if she supported them trying to reform (if they were trying, that is), because she knows that sometimes second chances don’t take, and you need a third, and you have to work damn hard at it. Also, Nebula’s led an army, and, though it’s not her finest moment, pulled off a very efficient coup; she knows how to lead and inspire people.
All in all, they both have good and bad qualities, but, honestly, I’m going to come down in favour of Nebula, just based on the fact that Sibylla just doesn’t…seem capable of taking action. And that’s so important in a queen. Honestly, I’m with my friend @devilheartsblog, who thinks they should just abolish the monarchy and set up a council of the Major Fairies, but since that’s not one of the options, yeah, Nebula. The fairies need a leader, and Sibylla just isn’t a leader.
Great ask, thanks so much! I had lots of fun thinking this over as I wrote.

"Oh, you poor misguided girls! Don't worry. Now that we're back, we'll bring everything to order again."
Next redesigns are the White Circle Leaders! HEAVY lore changes and stuff below:
The White Circle has been imprisoned for almost 2000 years, and ever since then they’ve been planning their attempt of reconquering the world and bringing their rule once more. While the Spell of Closure the Black Circle used was strong, it was also made with the condition that it could only be broken by a direct relative of the White Circle’s head figures from the outside. When Morgana entered Roxy’s dreams and managed to convince her to come to Tir Nan Og, she slowly manipulated her and the Winx’s actions to open the seal. They thought the Winx would want to join their ranks in their new conquest, but when they refused, all hell broke loose. While Morgana and Eldora stopped a full-on battle in that moment, they started their conquest almost inmediately after the girls left. Infighting started at the same time, however - Only Nebula and Sybilla supported Morgana’s conquest, while Diana and Aurora took their followers and left for the Amazon and Antartica respectively, not wanting part in this war. Sybilla then starts to reclaim Europe, while Nebula focuses on the New World. Morgana keeps harassing Roxy in her dreams, trying to make her join through any means possible.
While the Winx manage to get Diana and Aurora on their side (and obtaining their powers of Sophix and Agapix in the process), Nebula and Sybilla fight them any chance they get, with Nebula’s defeat at the South Pole being the determinant factor in the war. Now losing, the White Circle prepares for a siege in Tir Na Nog, where the Winx, with the help of not only the Black Circle but also Diana and Aurora, manage to defeat what remains of the White Circle (with Roxy discovering Morgana’s her mom in the process), and sending them to a jury in Magix to determine their punishment. Nebula and Sybilla are thrown to jail, while Morgana gets a heavy power limiter and sent to custody under the Black Circle.
On each member individually now! They’re all in Ascendix.
Morgana, Fairy of White Light. Her power covers the mind as well as light. While she is a warm and nurturing woman, she’s convinced that normal, magicless folk cannot govern over themselves and they will only cause pain and strife. She’s a magnificent tactician, but the fact that her mother had opposed her in the past (as she was one of the Pleiades) but now her daughter as well makes her judgement falter.
Diana, Witch of Lush Nature. Her Source is that of plants, but she has mastered control over water and earth. In the centuries she’s been trapped she has lost interest in bringing order to the world, and would rather get back to her home and try to manage the damages humanity has done in her absence. Her initial conflict with the Winx is when several construction companies try to destroy her home, with the Winx trying to stop her from murdering everyone on the spot. After the conflict’s resolved, however, she gracefully joins them.
Aurora, Fairy of the South Pole. Her Source is Ice, but befitting her name she also has decent control over light and wind. Like Diana, she doesn’t want part in a nonsensical war, they lost, that’s done, let’s move on. Her abode is in Antartica, and she willingly calls the Winx for help when Nebula starts wrecking the place. One destroyed palace later, and with Bloom having defeated Nebula in a 1v1, Aurora fully joins the Black Circle and helps them by pinpointing the White Circle’s weak points.
Nebula, Witch of War and Peace. Her Source is Lightning, but she has managed to master control over fire as well. She’s incredibly devoted to Morgana and her cause, and will gleefully do her bidding. She’s capable with many weapons, but prefers spears and polearms.
Sybilla, Sorceress of Justice. Her Source is Sound, and has managed to get a decent control over earth and rocks. She can manipulate sounds and voices to make the judgements that need to be done, and does not have issue with creating situations for forced, false confessions.

Could you tell us more about major fairies and their "aspect" in your au please ?
Being a Major Fairy is essentially a "job" a magic user can take whose aspect is broad enough to collect other magic users' aspects under them. Basically the Major Fairy's aspect needs to be an umbrella term or global definition.
Diana is the most straightforward example of this: Being the fairy of Nature, the scope of her aspect (aka the primary output of her magic) covers plant and animal life found on the planet. This way the spells she crafts, assuming she is at least Enchantress level, can be used by the fairies of corresponding aspects. She is therefore in a position to teach and nurture fellow magic users.
Among the Winx Tecna and Roxy are in the best position to become Major Fairies if they wanted to, btw. Tecna is actually bit OP, their aspect covering all conceivable man-made technology. Roxy with her aspect over Terrestrial Animals /could/ teach people whose aspect is centered on single ecosystems or species within that. At this stage she herself would benefit from Diana's tutelage tho. It is entirely acceptable to join a Major Fairy's circle for education purposes only.
What Major Fairies do on a daily basis is very much like any school headmaster/mistresses job: managing schedules, furthering their craft, teaching said craft to their followers. Major Fairy Circles in a way function like pre-modern apprenticeships, where one learns a trade directly from an expert practitioner of said trade. Unlike schools and apprenticeships however, Circles are build on reverence for the Major Fairy and supported through tiered hierarchy (I'm not gonna no reference mlm's, but if the shoe fits...).
Elemental source based circles usually pick a geographical location to look after. Though taking care of nature would boost any fairy's magic potential - remember my convoluted Favours system- it of course makes most sense for Elementals to pick something close to their power source. Thus for example Aurora, Fairy of the Arctes residing somewhere on the south pole. A large part of the youngest novices days are spent maintaining that environment which they reside in and if possible, tending to crops (Just doing magic generally won't fill stomachs you know. Fairies gotta eat). This combined with the studies given by their elders allows to strengthen their inner cores, advancing from (usually) Charmix to Enchantix and beyond. Major Fairies if skilled enough, can also craft transformation boons, called Gifts that enhance a magic user's abilities only in a certain direction. They are not a separate power source, rather imagine a cone placed over a magic core directing it towards a specific output, thus making the expressed magic better and stronger in that one specific application. People who don't want to break their neck on a higher level transformation quest really covet these, but they are usually only given to inner/ high level disciples.
Abstract source based Circles are of course not as location locked and tend to reside closer to civilisation. Sybilla's Grotto is actually on Tir nan Og where the High Justice Congress of the Fey Court is seated.
On Earth, the magic using society has delegated a different purpose to Major Fairy circles as well, electing one per continental region to serve as the highest local court in a feudal-federal relationship to Tir nan Og. Aurora and Sybilla have been the Major Fairies responsible for Antarctica and Atlantica respectively for a while, Diana only recently inherited her title after the demise of her predecessor Eldora.

Winx Club season 4 thoughts: part 1
What started as a few thoughts turned into a two-part review, what’s new. Alright so I’d heard some pretty mixed reviews for this season and I was… surprised with how much I liked it! … Aaaaaat the beginning at least…
The setup:
There was a lot of potential! I liked seeing the Winx being more grown-up and learning to live independently, moving them out of Alfea was refreshing. The expanded lore and addressing the lack of Earth fairies that was set up back in season 1 was also very interesting and something I wasn’t even expecting them to do. I do love the Earth fairy designs and I wish we had spent more of the season with them, especially Diana, Aurora and Sybilla. They just seemed so cool and warrior-like and I would have loved to see experienced, adult fairies just doing their thing; I know the Winx are super powerful now but I think some mentorship on the field would have been nice. We spent more time on the revenge plot though, which would actually be a pretty surprising twist if I hadn’t spoiled it for myself earlier, but more on that later.
There’s not a lot of love for the Wizards of the Black Circle but honestly, I liked them well enough considering we didn’t get the Trix again (no offense, they’re iconic but I needed a break from them, especially after all that villain decay they’d gone through). For the previous three seasons, the villains mostly spent their time trying to power up or get some macguffin before the final confrontation, so I guess it was refreshing to see these guys have a more focused (?) medium-term goal of getting the last Earth fairy. Speaking of which, I liked Roxy! Introducing a little sister-like character was a nice way of showing the Winx maturing, and I liked her much more realistic attitude towards becoming a fairy. Her powers were a bit underutilised (like, instead of just controlling animals maybe cast spells with animalistic elements like idk… cat-like claws or a snake’s heat vision or whatever), but she’s a complete newbie so that makes sense.
The Specialists were also really enjoyable to watch because we got to see them interact with each other (without the Winx) a whole lot more this season, from goofing around during Sky’s dramatic entrance to trying to learn how to live on Earth. The sitcom-level shenanigans were endlessly entertaining and now I’m just imagining a spinoff like those high school secret agent shows, where they’re just some random dudes working at a bar until they disappear at random times to go fight whatever monsters attack the city :’D
Only downside of the Specialists in this season is that they brought… a lot of unnecessary drama. Oh boy, here we go.
The drama:
So, romantic drama existed in the previous seasons too to varying degrees of success, but back then it wasn’t so… generic?
We went from Bloom’s crush being revealed as a prince who switched identities with his squire (contributing to Bloom’s already bubbling fears of not being special enough to belong in the magical world), to… jealousy plots that could have come out of any high school drama. To add to the genericness, they make each group share one brain cell and it’s as if no one is allowed to think differently to the rest in their group. Take the first drama surrounding the Winx thinking the guys don’t trust them (which doesn’t make sense considering they were always happy to get the help before, idk why Faragonda thought these grown Enchantix fairies needed their feelings tiptoed around like this). When they find out, it’s really only two or three couples arguing while the others kinda just… stand there looking vaguely annoyed. Ogron could literally absorb fairy magic so they needed all the non-magical help they could get, you’re telling me Tecna wouldn’t mention something like their probability of success going up when the Specialists are there? At least it seemed like Layla and Nabu weren’t mad at each other, but they probably only put that in to make them seem as in love as possible before killing him off.
Then there’s the drama with Andy and the band, where ALL of the specialists (except Nabu I guess) get jealous over THREE Earth dudes? Huh?? They even give Timmy a line saying he’d prefer if the girls didn’t hang out with those guys but like, Tecna hadn’t even interacted with them? She’s not a flirty person at all and they’ve mostly been a stable couple what?? Helia doesn’t say anything either when the Specialists storm off after the repainting incident like, I figured those two and Nabu would at least be a little apologetic before deciding to go with the others since the atmosphere’s been ruined already.
Drama wouldn’t ruin the season for me if it didn’t come at the expense of character development because honestly… I can’t think of there being any individual arcs for any of the girls that I actually liked? But more on that later, this got long enough so I’ll just talk about the characters in a separate post lol
Believix transformation:
I thought the outfits were fitting enough if they were going for Earth in 2009, definitely not a fan of those skirts though. Also hate that pink is so prevalent for Stella and Bloom… where are the yellow highlights? The moon element? I like Tecna’s the most and it kinda makes me wish her Enchantix was a little more utilitarian. Don’t get me wrong it’s lovely, but considering her Magic Winx outfit covered her up from head to toe, it just felt like a bit too big of a jump. Anyway, Musa’s Believix transformation was the most fun, although I also really loved the animation on Tecna’s wings and how they kind of just string into existence, it’s so cool.
As you’d expect I’m not all that fond of there being more transformations above Enchantix, it could have worked if they had Believix simply have a specific power set or be tied to Earth somehow, but instead they had it be more powerful and paved the way for countless transformations and product placement from then on (especially with those sets of wings, good lawd). I remember when Fate came out and people were going on about how the original show was all about pretty transformations and fashion, which was jarring to me because I only remembered the first season, where they had like two civilian outfits. I can see now why that belief prevails ^^; Speaking of those, there were a couple of outfit changes I thought were pretty tacky lol, although not as bad as the next seasons. I do find it funny that the Specialists were getting hung up about getting casual wear like, have you seen what the girls are strutting around in? Some of your outfits could be worn in real life, Riven even wore the freakin’ Union Jack!
One more thing about Believix: I really did not get the powers? They’re supposed to get it by making people believe in fairies, right, but then once they achieved Believix they could just use its powers to make people believe? Not just that, but they basically change people’s mindsets on a lot of other things too, which uh… is basically mind alteration and I don’t think I really like that. At one point Roxy makes the good point that you have to really connect with the people you’re trying to convince but I guess they just took that a little too literally and went digging into people’s brains. Sorry but, you can’t solve Earth’s problems by just completely changing people’s personalities.
Speaking of that, I did not like the whole schtick about Earth being a shithole because all the fairies are gone. In general, I just don’t like when kids shows take big problems like this and solve them in a very simple way (like letting wild animals roam free through the city what??), but I also just don’t get why they’re making a big deal about Earth being “out of balance” because, well, that’s an entirely relative assumption to make. And one that doesn’t make any sense in this universe because like, most of the realms in the Magic Dimension are basically dictatorships? Fancy, royal ones but still central powers with things like entrenched classism on Eraklyon or arranged marriages on Andros… at one point Musa makes a comment about Earth when she sees a homeless dude but like, are we forgetting Musa’s mother literally died because she couldn’t afford medication?? Sorry girl but there are actually some places on my backwards planet where that simply wouldn’t happen.
This kind of carries on with the Earth fairies and their vengeance against humans. I understand why they’d be mad at us for trashing the planet but it felt pretty heavy-handed even for a kids show, with Diana feeling the trees being cut down. I mean, fair enough but you’d think the whole planet was down to its last tree with how thick they were laying it on. I did like that with characters like Diana, Sybilla, Aurora and Nebula we got to see some variation and change in the Earth fairies’ attitudes towards their queen, humans and vengeance, rather than all being a hivemind that feel whatever the plot needs them to. As I said I wish we’d been given more time with them so their change of heart seems more believable and so we could see some of them be more useful in turning the tides. Maybe they could have done this through more interaction with humans; Helia was going on about how fascinating they are but the show never really gives us more detail on what exactly makes Earthlings more different to people in the Magic Dimension. There are some cultural differences of growing up without magic that may have been interesting to look at.
Okay that’s that on that, part 2 will mostly be me rambling about the characters.

Seeing your amazing takes on aurora and nebula... Could we also see your takes on the other 2 major fairies Diana and Sybilla? They'll definitely look amazing
Ah you’re so sweet!!
I have another piece of Diana I’ve done that I really like, but it’s for a collab so it’s a secret;)
Heres my version of Diana and Sybilla!
Diana is my milf supreme. Not much about her is different from the original show since I really liked her already.
Sybilla is wildly different though.
She’s very old. Older than recorded history technically, born in the area of the Mediterranean a couple hundred years before the foundation of Mesopotamia. She enters periods of stasis where she enters a deep sleep and turns to stone, choosing to awake when she feels the ambient magic/energy of the Earth is in unrest, seeing that as the time for her enact her will as Lady Justice and work to restore harmony and right whatever has bent the energy in a sour way. She sometimes also awakes when she’s just tired of sleeping lol. She actually has a few reasons she chooses to sleep or awaken, which I’ll explain more of in my upcoming post about the major fairies in my rewrite, but it’s very much on her time more than anything else. These deep sleeps results in a halting of her body aging, which is why despite being incredibly old, she doesn’t look it.
She has no eyes, having had them voluntarily removed to be fully dedicated to her cause of what she deems proper judgement and action.

Just a random idea/concept. I always wondered why Roxy didn't have the same fairy form like the rest of the non-Major Fairy, non-Fairy-under-Diana-Sybilla-or-Aurora fairies. So I made her one! I based it in her actual Charmilivix* form, just adapting it to the Earth Fairy style. Her wings ARE different from the actual Earth wings in color, since she was kinda special, what with being the Princess of the Earth Fairies and all that.
Base used made by Feeleam, with some modifications
Wings made by me

*Charmilivix (a portmanteau of Charmix and Believix) is how I call Roxy's fairy form, since it's only Believix in the comics and merchandise while it seems to be a weirdly made Charmix/Magic Winx in the show proper, since she couldn't get Sophix, Lovix or Butterflix.
