It’s day 25 of Swordtember, and let me weave you an elaborate tale of how I drew inspiration from real Italian Renaissance Schiavona or “basket-hilted” swords and woven belts 🤣 I think the idea was better in my head… 😅

Commentary

A complex little number here, I've seen others be cheekier with their woven sword like @ruminastro 's woven sword and wish I'd thought of that. Instead I made my blade look like its made of fibers and woven together kind of reminding me of Finn's grass blade. I knew what colors were important to me for the kind of basket look I had cooked up in my head and while its hard to show it as really woven I think I got as far as I could with it. Lovely colors making a lovely piece.

Swordtember 2024 Day 25 - "Woven"

A dual-purpose sword that can use the kinetic energy of its swings to spin yarn, albeit probably not as effectively as a proper spinning wheel. Still handy for the enterprising weaver on the go!
