Pride Petty Watch
Long story short, I owe the BL gods, so I'll be watching TWO series from my Petty List during the month of June. This list includes shows I haven't watched for purely petty reasons, so I'm asking the crowd to pick the two shows I will watch from all the MAME series, some censored Chinese bromances, a few sexual tension-filled Korean bromances, and one wild card.
I'm making my first ever poll, so whichever two series get the highest numbers will be the two I watch. And for all the kind people in the crowd, this is not the time to think about me. Pick your favorite. And for all the people who I annoy on the daily with my wild ass takes that piss you off, pick TharnType. But there is a possibility of a secret thirteenth option that would hurt me much worse . . .
The petty ass reasons are below the poll.
Disclaimer: If you're going to read the petty ass reasons, I need you to understand these are PETTY ASS REASONS, so don't try to hit me with 2,000 words about why me not watching censored bromances is a problem or why me not liking your fave hurts your feelings. Nah. Pick a show!
MAME
Love By Chance
This show came out at the end of 2018, and I watched the first episode, maybe first two, and thought it was boring. Then, in 2019, I saw a GIF of the locker scene, so I recommitted. I made it past the first episode just when the PerthSaint drama started spilling out everywhere, so I chucked the deuces and haven't returned since.
TharnType
For some reason, I couldn't find the first episode when it aired. Then, I found out how the first episode ended. Then, I found out about Type's past. Then, I just kept finding out more awful stuff until eventually the MewGulf shit finally hit the fan, and I was still reeling from the PerthSaint drama (and the emerging ZeeSaint chaos). At this point, I've built this show up so much that I'm afraid to see what it is actually about.
Don't Say No
A story of another GIF of a locker room scene sucking me in! After the first two MAME pairs blew up, I believed her shows were cursed, so I opted out of watching this one even though I thought it would be the one to vibe with me the most. But the biggest reason was because the main characters came from TharnType, so I felt like I would have to watch TharnType to understand this show, which was a big hell nah.
Love in the Air
I watched this through mutuals on my dash, so I feel like I did watch it. It is also the highest rated MAME series, so I had faith in it. However, when I found out about Sky's past, TharnType's ghost popped back up, and I realized this demon of a show is gonna haunt me in every MAME series.
The Wedding Plan
Y'all hated one of the leads so much while it was airing that I now hate him, and I don't think I can let that go, so I'm coming in with pre-hate and TharnType's ghost, but on top of that, some of y'all said it was boring. But what is boring in a MAME series? Consent? Not kidnapping someone? I never got answers, so I'm very conflicted about this show.
Censored Chinese
The Untamed
It's color coded, but FIFTY FUCKING EPISODES! What is this shit? Grey's Anatomy? The fuck! Second, once China pulled Addicted, I was holding grudges for life because it crossed from entertainment censorship into real-world oppression, so I could not bring myself to support media from a country that openly discriminates against the queers when I live in America where our highest court is just one Supreme Court Justice away from making us all live in the damn Mojo Dojo Casa House.
Word of Honor
It's color coded, but THIRTY-SIX FUCKING EPISODES! What is this shit? Supernatural?! The fuck! Second, I don't know the difference between this and The Untamed. Both are color-coded, one of them has a lot of uncles (?), one of them has awful facial hair, and they all have pretty outfits. Every time someone makes a reference about these shows, I just nod the same way I do when people mention Star Wars because none of it makes sense.
Guardian
I spent two years believing Killer and Healer was Guardian. I haven't watched either, but I thought they were the same show. Honestly, if this show wins, I might just watch Killer and Healer because I will forget they are not the same show. Don't they both solve cases? And because it's China, past lives must be involved, no? I'm looking at their MDLs as I write this, and I'm still not convinced they are different.
Stay with Me
It's color coded, but I know how it ends, and word on the street is that IS the ending since a second season seems unlikely. China couldn't just let me be hurt over Addicted, the original. No. Gotta hurt me again with Addicted, the remake. Rude af.
The Spirealm
First off, SEVENTY-EIGHT FUCKING EPISODES! What is this shit? Law & Order: SVU?! The fuck! I know how this ends, and it ain't happy! I don't care how people are trying to spin it, so to sit through SEVENTY-EIGHT DAMN EPISODES just for that ending already has me irate. And don't try telling me Viki combined episodes so it's only thirty-four. That's still a lot. However, everybody who has watched it says it's phenomenal, so is the pain worth it or are these people all lying so they convince themselves it was worth it?
Korean Bromance
Beyond Evil
With most Korean dramas, I feel like I missing something important. Like some part of the story does not click with me and I stay lost for the rest of the show. I suck it up for the queers, but the not-queers-but-it-is-queer shows . . . nah, and especially one about cops . . . (-_-). Also, The Worst of Evil just showed, and it was another reminder that I need these cops to quit their jobs and just screw each other. Embrace "Be Gay. Do Crime"
The Devil Judge
I know enough about Kpop to know GOT7 would not let one of its members kiss a man in this show. I looked at those GIFs of Jeff Satur and Jackson Wang on their show knowing damn well that if Wang got too close to Satur, an entire management team would have ascended from hell and kidnapped both of them, so the promo for this show was so wild because it felt queerbait-adjacent, and I was salty about it.
WILD CARD!
This option will be automatically unlocked IF this stupid little poll gets 216 votes, so I have high hopes this will not happen since I ain't that popular and I hate this wild card which is . . .
SOTUS
This show is my original TharnType. It came out in 2016. I watched it live. I watched the sequel. I remember neither. New was in it? Off was in it?! WHAT?! I have no memory of this show except Krist wiping his mouth, and I have carried that with me for eight damn years. I loved Be My Favorite, so I thought I moved past whatever strange grudge I was holding against this man who doesn't know I exist nor care, but then I saw that trailer for The Ex-Morning, and unlike Elsa, I can't let this shit go, so I'm willing to play Jumanji and go back into the jungle to finish this once and all.
So what it's gonna be, mi gente. Which demons am I facing for Pride and what shows do I get to stay petty about? Help me decide!
#Pride Petty Watch#it's time#help me decide which shows I'm watching#may the best demon win!#a promise is a promise#my blessings came quick#so I will not upset the BL Gods#I must pay them what I owe them#it is time

I'm definitely not the first person to point it out, but look at this:
Guess what Ego replied?
*in Peter Nguyen's voice* EXACTLY!
LMFAO BL SUPREME LEADER
This isn't what surprised me though. Considering the speech he gave in that JFU building, he is definitely a person with a high IQ. But what surprised me was..
...the way he spoke about it with so much clarity. I mean, details are too much specific to NOT be something he DIDN'T experience/see first-hand.
Which makes me think of two theories.
ONE:
Ego himself went through something like this. To be a rival of someone like Noel Noa, he definitely had to be some kind of genius himself. Further, they both are of different nationalities, so either Ego went abroad or Noa came into Japan; the chances of the latter being true is VERY slim.
Edit: I just realised that Ego was his TEAMMATE too, so I think that Ego definitely was out of Japan.
SECOND:
Someone close to Ego went through something like this. It could be that Ego had a partner or something like Snuffy and his best friend, and just like that, Ego lost someone dear to him which changed him completely to the man he is right now.
HOWEVER.
Both of these theories are way too.. simple/generic/predictable. I mean, look at the backstories of other characters: Yukimiya, Kuon, Naruhaya, Chigiri, etc. Do you really think that Kaneshiro-san and Nomura-san will give us something so basic after keeping this man a mystery for so long? Like, what did we think about Ness? Yes, that he had some kind of attachment issues, but what did we get?
HELL YEAH!
Perfectly written God's work which wasn't overcomplicated, but greatly satisfied the readers (at least, it did to me). Imagine we would've gotten a cliché background where Ness got abandoned by a soccer partner or something, then Kaiser picked him up— I would've been disappointed.
*Again in Peter Nguyen's voice* EXACTLY!
So, Ego definitely got to have something with more depth.
But, look at this:
This caught me off guard for some reason. I mean, "..I'm gambling my future on," isn't a bit too intense? Does he have like some chronic illness or something? I hope not though.
On a side note, whatever Ego said could also be applied on Sae, but again, considering everyone's backstories till now, I do think that two of the most anticipated characters will have a lore that goes deeper and is more complex.
.
.
.
Look at him though.
Just look how he is sitting. He'll never beat the babygirl allegations from me.

10 (or So) BL Boys I Want Carnally (Plus a Couple of Girls Too)
I was tagged by @neuroticbookworm at this post here and @waitmyturtles at this post here. Thank you dearies! 🥰
Now here's the thing before I get on with the post: after a certain time I think sexual attraction is a phenomenon more intellectual than physical.
So the beautiful people I'm listing below are ones whom I think fit the list in my head as examples of those genetically blessed with sexual desirability. But it's not as though I'm really feeling a carnal stirring in the loins for them. No fantasied jumping of bones (or boners) here; I would probably run a mile in the opposite direction if any of them actually presented themselves naked and available to me, you get my drift?
Still, since the malls are open I do like to look (even if it's only window shopping through binoculars 🤣). So, in no particular order, with tongue firmly in cheek and more admiration in my head (for the obvious hard work at the gym) than lust in my heart (or anywhere else) – here goes: 😍
1. Nonkul Chanon
youtube
I know Nong Non looked like a little ball of Koreanesque sunshine in I Feel You Linger in the Air (really channeling 2PM's Wooyoung for me), but Mistah Santinatornkul used to be beefier and apparently lost weight to look all sweet and wispy for the role of Jom in IFYLITA.
Dunno bout you, but I miss the beef. (And if you do too, I urge you to click on the YouTube link above. 😁) Also, Nonkul had four lead roles in 2023; I think his star is on the ascendant, so keep an eye out for this one (he seems to have an international presence that most other Thai stars don't, though it beams eastwards). 🤩
2. Ohm Pawat
I prefer him hunkier and chunkier like he was during his Bad Buddy Pat Napat days (he's too shredded and gangly beanstalk now for me) but I've actually met Ohm in real life and (I've said this before) his smile is supernova dazzling. Like everything else in the room simply fades to a blank whiteness. (Or maybe it was just me feeling faint. 🤣) Supremely photogenic (I don't think he has any bad angles), this boy definitely has the X factor and after Bad Buddy I will always be a diehard fan.
3. MaxTul
The original kings of BL who never shied away and just went for it when it counted. I rue the loss of Tul to business or real estate or whatever it is he's focusing on now, but this coupling will always be legendary so I'm putting them together as one on my list.
4. Gap Jakarin
You may be noticing a trend here, but I do like a bit of meat with my two veg. 😜🍆🥩🥬🍴🤣 Anyway I'm all goo-goo eyed at lovable himbo Yai in The Sign, especially when we see how smitten he is with his beautiful girlfriend Sand (who's canon transgender in the show, as Yoshi Rinrada is in real life too 💖). And that's carried over to my appreciation of Gap Jakarin in all his meaty meathead glory offscreen as well.
Plus when he was in the bulking phase (or maybe it was for a role?) Gap was also carrying a fair bit of baby fat in the following photo on his Instagram, and somehow that just makes him even more teddybeardorable in my eyes: 🧸😍
5. Neo Trai
Always the boy you remember in roles you'd rather forget. I've liked his look (neck up) for a long time now; in his current gym bunny phase the rest of Neo is looking more buff by the day and I approve, aesthetically speaking. More to love. 😘
6. Force Jiratchapong
youtube
Nice to look at. Only just about makes up for his roles and acting though. I'm not hurrying to watch anything he's in, unless it's for a photoshoot like the one in the YouTube video above. 😮
7. Pavel Naret
It appears he's had a little surgical tweaking recently, but the doctors did a fine job and Pavel is always looking like he's some sort of walking sex buffet, dishing out sass and overflowing sex appeal at every turn. Still not enough to make me wanna watch Pit Babe though. 🤣
8. KaowOat Supasin
Apologies for the fuzziness of this screencap but I can almost feel non-existent ovaries swelling within me when I look at KaowOat's pensive buttcrack and delicately-placed fingers here. Almost makes me want to watch Playboyy The Series. Almost.
9. Net Siraphop
I'm also on board with everybody's carnal favorite Net, even though I've not watched a single thing he's been in (Uea's kitty ears in Bed Friend did a good job warding me off, like garlic and crucifixes to a vampire so well done James Van Helsing). Nonetheless all the screenshots and GIFs were more than enough to leave me a little breathless at Net's honey-toned beauty. Those eyes telling of mysterious depths! That handsome jawline! That teasing glimpse of buttcheek with no tanline! When upon a time will we finally get Love Upon a Time? I'll be watching, if James can keep his furry ears out of frame.
10. Kao Noppakao
Oh he of the excellent cheekbones and Cupid's Bow lips! Always looking so icy and unavailable, yet Kao utterly charmed his way into my heart in Lovely Writer (and then shattered it within the first few minutes of Until We Meet Again). Like Ohm he literally cannot take a bad photo; it's all Blue Steel and high fashion with this one.
BONUS 1 (because I am no respecter of limits):
Great Sapol is on here because he filled out his tight policeman's uniform so well in Manner of Death (and has me vibrating with pins and needles waiting for Wandee Goodday). And Taylor Zakhar Perez just because he was such a menace in Red, White & Royal Blue (that full frontal above is from Minx though). 😜 Plus TZP's name always gives me the giggles because zakar in a number of countries quite literally means what that eggplant is hiding. 🤣
BONUS 2 (because these girls have made me feel something):
Zorzo Nathanan (formerly Zorzo Natharuetai)
Ever since she roared up and flicked those lovely long locks (and legs) on her motorcycle in Lovely Writer, I've been going weak at the knees for the ravishing confection that is Zorzo. Supposedly queer in real life too; just adds to the appeal. 🤩
Namtan Tipnaree
Absolutely radiant and glowing in Last Twilight even though makeup and wardrobe have Namtan totally frumped out for the character of Porjai. If you can look this good with perpetual bedhead and a shapeless gray t-shirt, there's some kind of sexual sorcery going on and there's a part of me that wants whatever it is she's got. 💖
I always tag too many people so I'm going to buck my brand and tag just one: @non-binarypal7. But consider yourself tagged if you've read this far and would like to play too – I just love reading other people's takes in tag games! 😍

Self call on weird ask but what are your 5 fav Thai BLs organized least sex to most sex? I want to ease in to the dicks and butts.
Lol! Not a weird ask!
And I will just say first before anything else, if you watch them on YouTube, you get a version that pretty much cuts away before it goes further than making out, you won't see any dicks, and I can only think of like, one butt (not in general in Thai shows, but like, specifically the ones on this list).
5. Cutie Pie
Aristocrat Kuea Keerati was raised to be the perfect submissive partner for his lifelong fiancée Lian Wang. Kuea has created a whole fake persona to maintain that image- lying about his major, keeping a special wardrobe to Lian's tastes, and feigning interest in submissive and docile things. But in reality, he is a wild child rocker who races bikes and performs in a dive bar. Lian is always cold and aloof towards Kuea, and the young man finally has it and calls off their engagement.
But Lian doesn't agree. He forces Kuea to move in with him, slowly coaxing the wild child out bit by bit. What Kuea doesn't know is that Lian has always known about his little act and loves the wild child, not the doll Kuea pretends to be.
4. Naughty Babe
** A spin off of Cutie Pie
Diao has been with Yi for 6 years, and engaged to him for 3. But the relationship has never been a healthy one, and Yi won't even sleep in the same home as Diao anymore.
Diao decides to flee to Switzerland and break off all connections with Yi. Yi finds out, and races to the airport to stop Diao, but is in a horrible car wreck that sends him to the hospital.
Diao is intercepted by his best friend Kuea Keerati and rushes to the hospital. As much as he was ready to leave, he cannot leave Yi without knowing he is alright. But when Yi wakes up, he has no memory of Diao beyond a small child. But Diao doesn't remember meeting Yi until he was 18.
Diao must nurse Yi back to health through his amnesia, and try to piece together a traumatic nightmare from his childhood that holds the answers. Amnesiac Yi is stubborn and childish, but venting frustrations at the man gives Diao some peace, and he starts to fall in love with this new Yi.
But what Diao doesn't realize (though he certainly suspects) is that Yi doesn't have amnesia at all- he is faking it to both repair his relationship and try to uncover the person responsible for his wreck.
3. Two Worlds
**Updated Later: I forgot, you do see a butt in this one
One summer, poor artist Kram falls in love with the wealthy and handsome Phupha. It is a whirlwind love, and just as they decide to spend their lives together, Phupha is brutally murdered. Despondent, Kram goes to a spring that legend says will reunite loved ones with those who have died. Kram slips, falls in, and drowns.
He wakes in the home of Tai- a dangerous gangster who murdered his mother. But something is wrong- Tai is missing the scar that takes up much of his face, and he is gentle with Kram.
Kram soon learns he fell into a parallel world, where their Kram died 3 years before, but Phupha is still alive. Kram becomes obsessed with saving Phupha's life, and is helped in his quest by a reluctant Tai.
But why is Tai willing to risk life and limb for Kram?
Because Kram's love story with Phupha did play out in this world- but between Kram and Tai. And for daring to love Tai, Kram was brutally murdered.
A fate Tai will do anything to change.
2. Love Sea*
** Numbers-wise, fewer sex scenes than LITA, and they end sooner, but some are quite raunchy. This is the bare bum one.
Tongrak is a bitch.
A famous writer, he is wealthy, handsome, and supremely confident in his body (and a wee bit of a sex addict). Sick of him whining about writer's block, Tongrak's friend Connor sends him on vacation and hires a local guide he knows to take care of Tongrak.
Mahasamut is overly friendly, bratty, and the treasure of the island. He excels in pissing Tongrak off-- but he's also the best lay the writer has had in years. Unwilling to give him up when his time on the island runs out, Tongrak offers to buy Mahasamut and keep him around as a personal boy toy.
Mahasamut accepts the deal- but only to stay close to Tongrak. For Mahasamut, this isn't easy money for sex in the tourism off season- he genuinely cares for Tongrak, and quickly realizes the writer faces traumas from his closest family.
Mahasamut will do anything to protect Tongrak, determined to force the writer to overcome his issues and open his heart.
1. Love in the Air*
** More sex scenes that all cover the full act, from undressing to orgasm.
Part 1: Rain is a bratty college student in the architecture major. One day, he finds himself aggressively pursued by the god of the architecture major- the recently graduated Payu. Rich, handsome, a mega-talented architect, and thoroughly lifted mechanic, Payu is a wall of charisma and discipline. And one night, after rescuing Rain from car trouble, he tries to force the decidedly straight student to sleep with him.
To take revenge on Payu, Rain decides to worm his way into Payu's life and learn his darkest secrets. He breaks into an illegal street race that Payu organizes along with a dangerous man named Pakin, and Payu is forced to save him from the guards. Payu humiliates Rain again, and Rain... decides the only way to get revenge is to make Payu fall in love with him?
Rain quickly finds himself questioning his sexuality as he falls in love with the Dominant Payu, and learns he has a submissive side he was never aware of. But Payu lives with one foot in a dangerous world, and Rain may not be prepared for the threats they will face.
Part 2: When Rain pursued Payu, one of the ways he did it was by breaking into an illegal street race. While Rain was saved from the guards by Payu, his best friend Sky was left alone. Sky was saved by Payu's close friend, star racer and rich playboy Prapai. Prapai told Sky he'd have to pay for being saved, and is delighted when Sky suddenly agrees to sleep with him, and is unforgettably hot in bed.
But what haunts Prapai after the one-night stand is the darkness in Sky's eyes, and the aching pain he only catches brief flickers of. It takes months to wring his name and number out of Rain, but Prapai quickly flings himself into Sky's life.
In the months since they last met, Prapai has been able to think of nothing other than this boy, and the playboy finds himself helplessly in love. But as madly enthralled by Sky as he is, Prapai still notices that strange darkness flicking in his eyes.
When Sky collapses at university and Prapai offers to watch over him, he sees a side of Sky that the boy has devoted his life to hiding. Nightmares that leave him weak and sobbing, begging for someone to save him.
Sky has survived something horrible, and while Prapai won't force him to tell the story, he devotes himself to being a light in the darkness.

Thank you for this question @wen-kexing-apologist.
What scene in BL has made you the happiest?
I'm a pretty happy girl while watching bl in general. I talk to the people on the screen, I clap and cheer and all that. If I'm supremely happy then I'll probably let out a scream and scare my cat. So I think the show recently where she suffered the most with my happy screams was definitely Tsukutabe. I hope you don't mind if I answer with a GL. The amount of times I just wanted to jump up and down with glee was unmatched, I believe. And I think nothing made me as happy as watching Kasuga talk to her father. This moment, I was just cheering like a crazy person.
It was fantastic. She is just so quiet for most of the time, but she's always listening, observing the people around her and processing. And after the talk with her soon to be divorced friend (I'm sorry, her name escapes me), where she confided in her and got the acceptance that she, maybe subconsciously, craved and words that she needed to her, she was finally able to do that. To have that conversation, to be firm and honest with him and be somewhat at peace with that part of her life. It was excellent. I LOVE HER. There are so many other moments from this show that I could honestly use to answer this question.
Now comes the anger.
So that really depends. I get angry at characters and at a show in general. I get angry at shows a lot for making stupid decisions. All my posts during Absolute Zero are a testament to that. And more recently I had a bad reaction to episode 11 of Unknown so I guess I'll talk about that.
See, I'm not really into sex scenes in general. Because more often than not they are just there. They don't add much to the overall story except to say that it happened. But when the show is good I expect them to match it. And Unknown is a really good show. It's great. So to say I was disappointed would be a massive understatement. I've spoken about this with @lurkingshan in the comments and the scene just didn't match up with the quality of the rest of the show. And this is obviously my opinion and how I see this show. There are a couple of reasons for my anger.
The first is Qian. Qian had just spent a lot of time considering Yuan's feelings and his own, the change in the relationship dynamic and he had to tackle his own fears around being vulnerable to another person and allowing himself to surrender to his desires. Because he has so little sense of self worth beyond being a carer for people around him, if Yuan didn't keep pushing, in his own way without actually forcing anything, I don't think Qian would consider crossing that line. But once he did, I think they needed a slower scene, where we could see him really embracing the moment and surrendering. Let's not forget this happened on the same night he said it wasn't sure he could make the change from brothers to lovers. That it wasn't sure what his feelings for Yuan were. So I just don't like that choice.
The second reason was the editing. And maybe this is a me thing. But even if I were to think that their first time would happen exactly that way, that scene was a mess. Sex scenes are usually not great in bl. Because the pretty takes the place of the good. So it's a lot of pretty lighting and bokeh effects. Which I have no problem with by itself. But the quick cuts drive me crazy. It's the same reason I never connected with the pretty sex scene in The Sign. If I'm gonna connect to the characters during a sex scene I should be able to linger a bit, to take in the atmosphere and physicality of the actors during it, so that it resonates emotionally. And it has to flow naturally as well for that to happen. So just cutting it randomly with different body parts, kissing and flashing facial expressions here and there just doesn't do it for me. And that's what happens in some of them including this one. And the SOUND. It drove me crazy. If you wanna use breath sounds during a scene like this, then do it well. I've seen both versions of the scene so I'm gonna focus on the reedited one cause the other one makes me doubly angry for other reasons. They change between normal speed and slow motion in the scene. And the sound doesn't really change between them so of course it didn't match, but the worst is the fact that it also didn't match anything. The sound was not from that scene. Probably because it was edited so much so the sound that they used was different, but it kept taking me out of the scene on top of what all the other reasons.
That was a longer answer than I was expecting. So I'll stop now. I hope most of that is coherent enough. I rambled a bit. Anyway thank you so much for this question.
Have a good day💜
#rose answers#unknown the series#tsukuritai onna to tabetai onna#rose rambles#I find it so much easier to write about things that make me angry than happy#it's weird

SINDAY HEADCANON ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
in alphabetical order under the cut because i'm not a heathen.
ALEX
Alex takes orders really well, tell him what you want and he will comply with a little smile or smirk and he'll get to work! And I need it to be known that there is a REASON Lorna and Madelyne keep letting him back in and it's 100% because he's good at using his mouth, and his jaw almost always has some stubble so it's great for sensations and stimulation.
Alex is hot, I mean that literally, his powers makes energy and plasma store inside his body so he runs hot. If it's winter? He adds an extra layer of comfort during sex since he's just a blonde weighted blanket.
Likes being pegged, look at his Goblin Prince era.
When it comes to men he's a versatile king, he can be a submissive bottom or a eager top, best of both worlds - Hannah Montana.
When he was younger he did have issues of using his powers during intimate moments but it was ONLY when he was solo. He's far too terrified of his own abilities and how dangerous they are to ever accidentally use them in bed now. He keeps that control no matter what. ( Eyes might glow blue though )
*PULL HIS HAIR* He will moan and it's a delightful sound.
He likes fucking in the X-Jet lol ( it's leftovers from Alex and Lorna's time in space where their most favorite pastime was banging because there wasn't anything else to do idhfjks did )
Weird asf but he enjoys when people tear clothes from him, especially his uniform.
CLINT
Alex might be good at taking orders, but Clint is the ORAL KING. Bobbi makes numerous remarks about how long Clint can hold his breath, that man eats pussy / sucks dick like a ROCKSTAR.
Clint grew up in the circus and because of that he's very bendy, he can do lots of different positions, like go crazy babes.
Not sinful, but he's strangely good at after-care, he'll make coffee/tea, order pizza, clean up. A mess in real life does not translate to post sex, man has a reputation.
Because he is deaf, he prefers positions where he can see his partner's face. He wants to see them enjoying themselves since he can't hear them. On the other end, Clint is loud as he has no control of his volume so feel free to gag him!
Clint has very strong fingers from his archery so do with that info what you wish.
Enjoys being tied up.
DANI
Reminder that my Dani is a lesbian.
She's a dominant top, reading everything about her even from the early days of New Mutants, this woman will not take orders from anyone. She takes charge, she knows what's she's capable of and that's the tea.
She will unironically call someone good girl in bed and I hope this awakens something in all the sapphics out there.
She can and will make sex toys with her powers. You think those psionic arrows were all she can make?? Nah.
Because of her powers she can also make it seem like they are at any location. Wanna bang on the beach but can't fly there? No problem. Five class Paris suite?? Just relax and let Dani work her mirages.
Despite her top energy, Dani is a supreme cuddler, she enjoys showing affection and that translates into sex. Lots of kissing, lots of desperate grabbing, lots of face caressing.
JAMIE
Jamie has more control of his powers now, but he does sometimes lose control, so if the sex is intense don't be surprised if another Jamie pops out fugdvhfjd So if your muse is into a sudden threesome with two Jamies then you're golden.
He really is just a walking orgy so if you're super freaky just ask and he'll pop out a few duplicates and they can all have fun.
From his detective era, he does love sex on a desk. He "Thinks it's so NOIR."
JEAN
Already alluded to this today, but sex in the sky is so real. She can keep you both afloat with very little effort ( though if she gets with someone who flies she'd love to give some control up )
Jean's eyes glow pink during sex. She has enough control that she doesn't fling things around, but the room may shake a bit.
Her favorite lingerie is black, a call back to her Black Queen moment. She also wears a lot of backless dresses.
KISS HER NECK, MAKE HER FEEL DESIRED. She'll never admit this, but Scott cheating on her has left a scar. Jean wants to feel loved and desired, that she's enough.
She can be dominant or submissive, a versatile queen.
Because Jean is a cosmic entity at times, she loves powerful lovers, if they can be like two stars colliding into a big bang she'd be ultra satisfied.
She likes riding, yee haw.
Jean can cook breakfast and bake a bit, but she's not a great cook, so expect her to offer to go out for food after. A little date after a bang is just as valid as cooking in the kitchen! She's also just fine with coffee, cuddling and leftovers.
Woman is loud. Like she'll shout a name so loud the cosmos will hear because she's fire and life incarnate.
Random, but in my verse where Jean is still the White Phoenix of the Crown, the nexus of life, death and rebirth itself, I once read a fic where she brought someone into the White Hot Room just so she could bang because she wanted to feel human again and . . . idk that's a plot right there.
JOHN
MAGIC IN BED. John will do some absolute unhinged shit in bed via spells, sometimes even on accident.
Submissive. This man is not dominant in the slightest, he will if he finds like a submissive demon, he might TRY, but more often than not he's a pillow princess who curses and is loud.
He does love a power bottom though, ride him!
Probably uses such utter insane names in bed, he's NASTY, A FREAK, ROLL HIM INTO A BALL AND SLAP HIM AGAINST A WALL LIKE ONE OF THOSE STICKY HAND TOYS.
Sex for spells? Hot. Draw incantations on his chest and fuck him like it's a ritual.
JULIAN
Unlike Jean, Julian has less control over his powers so he absolutely lifts and throws objects with his mind if he's really into what's happening. His eyes glow green, the room is a lava lamp.
Because of his lack of hands, he uses his telekinesis for grabbing, psychic massages, and those psychic massages happen anywhere. Ever been fingers by someone's mind? He'll do it. Telekinesis sex is INTERESTING.
Julian loves chests, he's a boob man, whether it be women's or men's.
He has daddy/mommy issues, everyone who has followed me on his solo blog knows this. He's into it I fear.
Call him good boy to make his toes curl. He likes praise in general.
He might pretend to be someone casual, but in reality Julian might be one of my muses who gets attached the hardest? It makes it so his heart is easier broken, but he loves feeling a connection, he loves feeling loved and wanted on an intimate level.
Still enjoys casual sex, but the above is for those he's feeling HARD.
When he's with a man he's such a bottom. Fuck him and put him in his place lmao
KISS HIS STUMPS!! When he doesn't use the prosthetics after becoming comfortable with you, if you kiss where his hands used to be he's going to melt and the sex will be even better, I promise.
Women should always it on his face. ( And men lowkey ), but he loves performing oral.
If you're anti mutant you're not getting any. He's the most radical of my muses, humans more often annoy him than anything.
MARC
The three men all fuck differently, I'll need to do some #soulsearching to really find the differences, but I bet Marc fucks like the world is ending and his dog tags swing from around his neck.
Steven is the romantic one, candlelit tub time, roses and shit. He's a rich man with a desire for passion.
Jake is more of a mystery but he might just be a mixture of how Marc and Steven fuck, he's more of a casual / friends with benefits kind of guy though. Comes with his job as a cab driver.
Marc 100% fucks in the suit.
Do not call them by the wrong name. You will know who you're with based on their personalities, but it's an instant turn off if you get it wrong.
Marc is a daddy, I said what I said.
All of them eat women and men out like it's a meal and they are a starved victorian child F*UYDGHFUIO
PIOTR
He big, he will make that bed SLAM if he gets into it.
Despite the above, he is very careful. Piotr is a gentle man and will only get more rough with permission, but if someone wants it that way? He'll oblige.
He loves painting people when they are naked. It's not sexual at first, but if someone gets turned on by his skills and his gaze and his working artist hands then SO BE IT.
He's submissive by nature, but will absolutely be dominant if the mood call for it.
Same goes for being top/bottom, shorter men topping him?? A win.
Manhandling comes with the whole package, Piotr is strong, and he's just bigger than 90% of other people. But hey, if you just want to be picked up and banged?? He can do it.
The Steel form . . . might come out, but he's extremely reluctant. He never wants to hurt anyone, but if you ask for it, then it'll happen.
He's super about communication tbh, I'm noticing it as I write this down, he's just all about it and being a soft spoken king.
SURPRISE ANOTHER ORAL KING
He loves mapping lover's bodies with his mouth and hands
His pecs jiggle, grab them FUYDHFKJDHDH
His ass jiggles, grab it.
His (censored) -- I'm not finishing that
He likes sex in nature, in water, stuff like that. Anything that can give him artistic muse.
ZATANNA
MAGIC IN BED! But less freaky than John.
When you get her going and she starts speaking backwards you know you're doing a good job.
THE FISHNETS STAY ON
She dominates John Constantine, but in pretty much every other relationship she's a submissive queen.
Enjoys being tied up, enjoys giving herself over to another person and letting them take control since she always feels like she needs to be in control in other aspects of her life.
A romantic at heart, she loves inviting people to her giant bubble bath. Lots of sensual moments actually, she wants massages.
Bite her.
She also enjoys air sex, whether it's just her floating from her arousal or full on flying.

I thought I fixed the knitting issue I had but nope, still messed up. But it's just for me, so I suppose I'll just let it be instead of getting more annoyed X3
So, SPN rewatch resumed. I'll eventually sit down and do something else like fanart or fanfic this weekend. I do owe you a Lord of Amara chapter after all. But while I've got it all planned out, I feel a sense of reluctance to write it and I can't put my finger on why exactly. But I've been putting it off all week (though, in my defense, I AM sick. Knitting and watching SPN is easier than writing.)
In any case, 14x02 now. I know it's a writer issue but some of the dialogue in the beginning of this episode just sounds stupid. Sorry.
SAM: (...) Cas, you know why you can’t come with us, right? CAS: My angelic presence would be sensed by Michael, thereby nullifying your hopes of a sneak attack.
And he wouldn't notice the other humans that don't have specific anti angel warding on them...?
CAS: And, you need me to stay here and babysit Nick and Jack.
Pretty sure someone else could keep an eye on Nick too. It's a Bunker full of people now.
SAM: It’s not babysitting, Cas. CAS: Only in the sense that they’re not infants, but they both have to be supervised. Jack is lost without his grace, Nick is…he’s just a mess. SAM: Well, it-it’s not his fault. Cas, Nick was housing, you know. He-he deserves a shot at rebuilding his life. CAS: And yet every time I look at him, all I can see is the supreme agent of evil. JACK: You talking about my dad again? Look, I understand. Being around Nick - it’s hard for me, too.
The supreme agent of evil? Okay?? And then BL again coming in with the whole pushing Lucifer as dad thing. I find the whole "Lucifer is nothing to me, Castiel is my father" approach much more rewarding. This BL stuff is nothing to me. Why would Jack still want to call him dad after what Lucifer did? Why reinforce the idea that blood is more important than chosen family after all we've heard before? Unsatisfying.
P.S. Why should Cas be so freaked out being in Nick's presence? That's ridiculous. He's an angel. He knows how possession works.

Hi! What r ur thoughts on OhmLeng's Kidnap the series?? I mean we all know Ohm is a great actor and he can have chemistry with a rock if he want. But for some reason the chemistry is unbalanced here?? I might be biased because of my now and forever bad buddy hang over, so I wanted to know your opinion. (This is not an hate ask on the series or ohm, just a genuine question)
First of all, thankyou for asking me that! I didn't know i had this many opinions about the show from that teeny trailer until i wrote this answer hehe.
And to get to my answer yes I kinda get what you mean anon. I also am supremely biased towards ohmnanon's chemistry. That being said i don't think that's the issue here. I just rewatched the trailer again, and idk what they said about the series or if they're adapting this from somewhere, but it really looks like took a bare thread plot and made the trailer and left the actual developing of the story to be done for later. And if that's the case then both actors don't have the entire background and story to give their performances the depth they should have. So it feels like a very surface level performance and not the kinda stuff we know ohm can pull off.
Also I saw this post and in the light of that and the fact that we did not get a kiss in the trailer (not that having a kiss is the be all and end all of a bl or a romantic relationship but still it) makes me wonder if it is in that queerbait bracket after all. What if the showmakers made the trailer in such a way to give us hope but not to guarantee it to us ykwim? Like if you few it from different angles you know you can interpret their actions and their implications in very different ways.
Their dynamic in that scene where ohm is asking leng to take off his brother's gift while having bl undertones, felt more bickering sibling-ey than budding lovers ( i hate that word but i cant think of anything better to use here). That scene right before the end where ohm stretches out his hand to lift leng up and then the nodding with the smiling gave such strong friendship vibes i just could not ignore it. We had the cliche (usually) romantic tending to each other's wounds scene and they ended it on a scene where their faces are super close and towards each other, but that could be the queerbait part of it.
It could also be that the story is all fine and perfect but it's just that as a cast and a pairing they're new to each other and so their chemistry is of course something that cant be compared to what ohmnanon with their years long friendship and acting experience were able to create. Maybe spending more time together working on the project will help iron any and all rough patches out.
So yes long story short i do agree that the chemistry did feel unusual. And i'm mostly attributing it to the actors (and even the showmakers/gmmtv) not knowing which direction to take and just winging it. So for all we know it could be a bl with an excellent romance. Or it could be an unlikely friendship blooming in the midst of adversity story. And ngl, i find the second one far more compelling. There's also the thing that I'd rather watch a kidnappee befriend a kidnapper (however reluctant a kidnapper he was/is) than they become romantic partners. I feel like it could be a much more beautiful meaningful relationship and story that way. But that could also just be the aro-ace in me talking :3

The Devil Judge Live Blogging
I was actually supposed to watch The Eighth Sense or From Now On, Showtime! this weekend but I saw this tweet. It is an edit on the male leads and I didn't even watch the edit really but I was overcome with a great urge to watch the drama, so I'm somehow starting it on Thursday night instead of Saturday :/
Ep 1 (June 1)
It has korean subs... should I try to watch it in Korean? The first ep is already 1h 20 mins lol, it'd take forever to watch with Korean subs. Idk why my "learning" feature on Viki isn't working rip, it'd be helpful to have both subs
at least there were some names and titles of characters at the beginning so that I can come back to it when I'm inevitably lost about who is who
oh Kim Gaon is going in to be a skeptical character in this live court, keeping his eyes and ears open because his teacher does not like or approve of this spectable
first meeting and I have to remember that this tension will not accumulate to them actually getting together rip
Gaon's parents were murdered?
damn, that's dumb to shoot at the bus toward Gaon and the child, no? when you didn't know how the person would react or accidentally shot the people? i think I'm just unimpressed by callous old confident powerful men tbh
ah, of course, Gaon saves a child and the driver and a plant
oh that's not his sister, that's his friend who's in love with him. it could be cute if i wasn't already ogling at the straight-up BL and romance dynamics with the older strict rich powerful man and younger hopeful kindhearted rough childhood man
I keep seeing clearly corrupt men who I've previously seen act as terrible men in kdramas lol
why is Gaon talking about supreme court breaking and entering in public transit T.T
so is Su Hyeon actually Gaon's love interest? I think I heard the love interest dies
Director Jeong Seon Ah's manner of speaking is so fucking irritating my god
also who is the good guy here? Nobody? seon-ah is for the foundation and doesn't want this trial of Ju Il Do to happen but does the Minister of Justice Cha Gyeong Hui want it to happen so that he's not given a sentence? she's the one who's been supporting and getting support from Ju Il Do this whole time
ah he's so annoying, he likes that she likes him
no way he's repeating her joking but kinda not asking him to marry her recording ah they're cute fuck
damn what's going on with the judge at that place with fallen people?
oh slamming against bookshelf and talking about Gaon living alone and the trailing hand across chest?
how did Gaon trail the car while on a bike
oh Gaon mentioned that the judge Kang Yohan survived some disaster, so I guess this fire is referencing that?
this variety show concept is killing me so bad
oh hooooo so the devil judge is making it seem like he's on the chairman and the Foundation's side but he made the doctor react badly to having thought he drank the water... okay, I did wonder this beforehand but was unsure
oh witness coming through okay, was he previously bribed?
ohh the judge met with a different doctor, okay, so he really will play by the books and rules?
is the judge going to say occupational negligence? which will make it seem like ju il do is facing consequences but will have him get off easy? whose side is this man on?????
oh? the judge got the witness to lie to make the stuff worse and mention murder? is that good or bad in terms of consequences omg
ah Judge Yohan keeps playing with everybody on every side, including me. so he is doing occupational negligence but is using the newer ruling to make it a longer sentence
okay chills for real when he's reading the names and accounces 235 years
the groups are: the minister (on the side of ju il do, used to be on the side of kang yohan as well), the Foundation (on the side of ju il do as well), and the tv broadcast people (on the side of money and entertainment), that other guy (on the side of entertainment mans is just watching, I can't rmr who he is or who he's related to heh - oh my bad he's the fucking president lol)
oh the Judge is acteur! a tear down his cheek
please the way Gaon has been gazing at Judge Yohan since he figured out he's probably on their side
the Judge yawning? lmfao
pls okay Gaon was so doey-eyed at Judge Yohan just a moment ago but now he's hardened again
what's this? judge yohan's memories? Gaon reminds him of somebody else?
Fun first episode, purposefully confusing in terms of the judge's loyalties, I got confused about the people and who is who because I was playing solitaire on the side lol
also kinda funny to call it dystopian present-day korea, it's like 2 millimeters to the right of just regular present-day world
Ep 2 (June 2)
Lunch time episode heh
I wonder if this female Judge Oh will be a problem? last ep she mentioned power and this ep she was like ...they're not looking at me
ah intense dinner. so Gaon's father committed suicide to escape from loan sharks while Yohan's father was a loan shark
who is this yellow car racer dude? i wonder if he's gonna be part of this ep's case. also, what happened to the previous lying doctor guy last ep? did he collide with that truck?
the secretary is so irritating like just her mannerism and manner of speaking like obviously everybody here is irritating but somehow she gets on my nerves the mostttttt
damn Mr. Seo looks head
fuck I forgot who Heo Jung Se is but apparently Minister thinks they talked Yohan into sentencing Ju Il Do - oh wait I looked up the MDL cast list and I think it's the president
anyway I hope Gaon's professor doesn't die, they seem to have a great mentor-mentee relationship
plss "It's like you were only watching me, Judge Kim" "...that's not true." bye
ah Gaon insisting it's not just a good result that's desired but also a fair and just trial vs Yohan saying there's no justice no fairness trials are a game
Yohan saying Gaon resembles "him" - the same guy he was hallucinating at the end end of last ep?
lol her being like ah so your cheating lover was the Judge/chief?
i wonder are there rules of cars going to the side when there are police sirens on in korea/seoul or no?
oh judge yohan's black sports car
Yohan reminds me a bit of Dongshik with the laugh and doing inexplicable things like hammering the car and planting drug (?) evidence
ah Yohan is always a few steps ahead huh? Knew that the cop fuck I forgot her name would visit the doctor witness and also found the bug Gaon put in his office
oh Gaon is already thinking that maybe Yohan's tampering is fine since it led to a good outcome, will he also be converted by the end?
who did Gaon call after seeing the car guy? would it be Yohan since he appeared hmmmm
oh wtf Yohan's using that car guy as bait, which makes sense since he was doing all that hammer and drug planting in front of Gaon and the cop
ah Yohan devil coming into play
oh shit Yohan killed the bird and then was ostracized for it
is Chairman Seo treating Judge Oh weirdly creepily?
wait I hope Yohan and the lady who irritates me just by existing won't be love interests or something since they're dancing like this... please
also is she a secretary or a director? no clue
oh Yohan king of planting things and creating chaos from the very beginning. so funny to see these little kids fight
lmfao pleaseee the mom the car guy was seeking is the minister?
oh what the fuck a whole ass bomb? somebody really wants Yohan dead
ofc Gaon saves Yohan and Yohan has to drag his unconscious body away
Ep 3 (June 2)
oh Yohan took Gaon to his house and what? took his shirt off and bandaged him himself or called a doctor?
Yohan just straight up pretending to be injured in front of the reporters
lol Yohan being like oh? are you his gf? and then stops her from knowing his whereabouts. seeing them together like this is just like Gaon has 2 hands! he can have a childhood bestie gf and an intimidating morally ambiguous older bf!
oh also her name is Yun Suhyeon
lol why did the maid(?) get startled just at seeing Gaon, it's as if he's sharing a bed with Yohan or something lol - after the incident of elijah saying gaon looks like him + the Nanny talking to the Young Master photo, I guess she thought he looked like the kid who died
oh yeah I forgot to mention but the mention of Old Testament reminded me that there's so many references to Catholicism/Christianity in regards to Yohan and his past
ah, Elijah doesn't like his face and calls him a knockoff, probably haunted by the same person who Gaon reminds Yohan of
I love the Minister woman so much, idk she's so above it all and a schemer but ah it's appealing and so intense
IN CONTRAST THIS DIRECTOR LADY FROM THE FOUNDATION IS KILLING WHY DOES SHE TALK AND ACT LIKE THAT AGHHHH
oh stupid president talking about an intense stare not befitting a woman, it suits the minister perfectly, she's scary
bro literally taking off shirt + wound tending + taking jabs about being old vs young
please I think Elijah and Yohan are so funny. she's his younger sister right? He constantly defending himself from her and her just going like so boring. especially with his unstyled hair after the shower, he looks so unassuming and cute
Judge Yohan is so funny, a public show judge by day and hammering cars and beating up people by night
Yohan avoiding to answer if it's because of Judge Gaon...
oh the social responsibility foundation are raising money to house and aid the poor people in Korea lol meanwhile all the fucked up shit going on inside the foundation. oh lmao they have to move people who already live there and demolish their houses to make this supposed dream village
Director Jeong just straight up stepping on the president's face lol it would've been so good if I didn't hate her
oh damn okay so I did very briefly wonder if he was adopted or something since Yohan laughed at being rich since birth but it does seem that something like that happened. Nanny says this true Young Master is the owner of this house, not "that child" Yohan - is he actually not Yohan but posing as that or something lol like after the kid died he took over his life?
oh this guy is suchhhh a bitch hurting everybody at the restaurant
oof they really got two of the 3 people to agree to a settlement out of court
damn Gaon saying he saw the dude driving dangerously and nothing else
D: all 3 settled?
omggggg Judge Yohan is soooo good at putting on a show with his priest-like robes, it's unbelievable
oh there are multiple locked doors? One is the dead Young Master who looks like Gaon's room? and this other one leads to the basement - is it Yohan's old childhood room?
the fact that the Nanny evil calls him Sleeping Beauty and princess, like this is so BL coded
oh I see, I thought too much - he is indeed an adopted kid but hadn't taken over the other dude Isaac's life. this basement was his room though
why is Gaon asking about dirt on Yohan from the Nanny? and so blatantly too like how do you know you can trust her - just because he saw her talking to that photo in that room? smh
anyway, my guess is that Nanny thinks Yohan purposely caused the fire on purpose to kill Isaac and get his fortune? and maybe he did cause it accidentally, that's why he has regrets related to his brother?
oh wait Yohan is still half related to the siblings, their fathers are the same
not the gloves before a beating
damn, Yohan did what?! made a maid jump off the 2nd floor and poisoned a dog? fr?
ayo wtf Yohan basically murdered this man by making him fall off the roof of several floors. also he was a firefighter during the fire at the catholic church where Isaac died and yohan lived?
ah i'm so curious
Ep 4 (June 2)
oh damn Minister really framed somebody 19 years ago and innocent man ended up committing suicide, so now Yohan's saying if she confesses, he'll let her son go
oh? is the guy who's always doing the sleuthing and tailing for Yohan that guy's son who was in middle school when his dad committed suicide?
oh Nanny even gave him the keys?
when did Yohan chasing down that man even happen?
damn even Elijah is thinking every day about how Yohan became the owner of this house
pls Yohan really looks so cute with this washed hair and homey look wtf
I did miss Yohan and Gaon interacting
ohan even took a peak at Gaon shirtless lol and then checked him out in his new suit like and putting the jacket on him
Elihaj and Gaon ganging up on Yohan and his age ah
pls Yohan literally taking Gaon to this place after choosing his outfit and everything and guiding him with his hand on his back ah (though he took a moment to be the passenger princess heh)
pls this flock of women
oh okayyyy the fucker Foundation CEO or whatever is indeed a creep and assaulter because I thought the way he was grabbing Judge Oh was weird but was like hm? but yeah he's a fucked up dickhead and the Director Jeong bitch is an enabler - oh actually she stopped him this time
agh her slapping him and making him bow. this could've been fun if they both didn't disgust me
agh fuck this might actually make me like her, she's so scary. the way she started slapping him for daring to say he "befouled the women" because even if a dog like him bites humans, the humans don't become dirty. i wonder if she was sexually abused?
oh the way Yohan grabbed and threw Gaon tf
Yhan really went does the Minister have to be the one who protects your assets?
Gaon going crazy watching these interactions between these rich and powerful people wow me too their laughter is wild
is Director Jeong lying about the donation thing? yeah right?
oh Yohan doing that to the steering will is so D:
ahhh scary minister <3 letting own child to the wolves and letting him be arrested than falling from her own position, yessss. even thinking "there's no glory without sacrifice"
oh Gaon and Suhyeon are going to a cop who was the fire incident? or investigated it?
lmfao flogging as the sentence is killing me so bad pls public humiliation and corporal punishment T.T this could be an explicit AO3 fic tbh
(Linguistics) the dude is using banmal and rude words
this public display is genuinely horrifying by the way
oh fuck Gaon probably shouldn't have said "hyung too" bro you don't actually know that
Elijah being Isaac's daughter makes a lot more sense than their sibling
the beauty and chaos of fire
oh that's why Elijah uses a wheelchair now, Minister really didn't gaf
Gaon was wearing the cross bracelet/necklace that belonged to Isaac that belonged to his mom
ah so as expected, that fireman had stolen Isaac's watch
damn Gaon literally just walked away after hearing all that and Yohan smirking while saying "ah people indeed like these sorts of stories" like okay??? it's probably mostly true but with more flair to tug at heartstrings?
I'm ignoring the fact that Gaon reminds Yohan of his literal brother.
Some people on reddit on-air said that maybe Yohan was showing Gaon off to the Foundation people to see if they remembered that face that day from the fire but seems like nobody did. Also, they wondered if Yohan was targeting the foundation people for being there that day of the fire but all running for their lives and leaving his relatives to die.
Ep 5 (June 3)
oh this dream nightmare of Yohan of the fire and his brother
damn Gaon seeing Yohan after the nightmare
Elijah even accusing Yohan of "seeing the face of the man he killed" ah
oh ho, Yohan's past judge experiences where he was simply imagining fucking up the defendant (esp somebody who beat his the son and his own father beat him) and now he's finally getting to live the fantasies out
ah, Yohan saying that Gaon wanting to leave/accepting being kicked off the panel is predictable?
oof Minister is throwing a wrench into Yohan's plans?
what's suhyeon doing? is this just a regular case for her job?
ah Minister had touched up the flogging photos, though it's a cruel punishment nonetheless
oh someone's following Yohan's whereabouts
ah Gaon leaving so much food for Yohan and Yohan actually eating it, despite not trusting others like the Nanny
ah so the foundation paid off that old cop
ah Suhyeon and Gaon childhood friends
pls her becoming a cop because she wants to keep rescuing Gaon, ah he's got Suhyeon on one side and Yohan on the other
oh, this time we don't know much about the defendant
? what's the hard drive hiding?
girl physical castration?
Minister and Director Jeong ah terrible women scheming <3 I still fucking hate the way director jeong speaks though my god I like the character but cannot stand the acting
damn, the show lasted like 3 minutes this time and we're continuing for next time
pls Yohan playing as a hurt, misunderstood man for Gaon is so funny
but Gaon also catching on and throwing the "you do waver when i talk like this" back
oh, Gaon acknowledging Yohan as a victim really touched him, huh?
come onnnn Yohan looking out from the window to see Gaon and his niece Elijah playing together with the cat
omg and closing the curtains as soon as Gaon looks toward his window
Gaon's professor won't be in cahoots with the foundation or something, right?
omggggg??? children flogging each other as play
wait who is that on the bike - spying on Gaon? judge oh?
inmate?
ah sad Judge Oh
Yohan being pulled all ways to choose whether to castrate or not, ah. rip his pens
ah so Yohan did not choose castration. it's a trick regardless of what he chooses, so it is what
did somebody poison the criminal? omg
oh appendix? wait what's going on are they just castrating him anyway? they as in Yohan? wtf man is this a dream
oh Gaon dreamed it lmfao
oh I see, that's why Elijah was bringing an inmate to prison in Texas
is this homophobia or no
Yohan won the tricky, tricky homework that Director Jeong had set for him
I just hate her acting so much, else Director Jeong as a character could be sooo good
pls they look so boyfriends with Yohan at home and Gaon on the couch playing with the cat, in casual clothes ah
oh i see, it wasn't Judge Oh but this other motorcycle woman. so this is the foundation's doing to trap Yohan?
I would like this display of her having captured Yohan and have him in cuffs so much more if her acting wasn't such a turn off my god and the kiss just looks weird and uncomfortable instead of salacious or whatever
oh? she worked as a maid for their family before? that's why things in the house were familiar
why is she kissing him?
Ep 6 (June 3)
the kiss feels more proprietory and about power (?) than as if she likes him
anyway i hate the way the actress plays her so much omg
oh D: he's scary, he really told young maid Director Jeong to jump off the second floor? her name's Seonah. though we didn't actually see him push her or her actually jump off
omg? she told him to go outside and she'll cover for him but she's telling on him going outside to the Nanny (to get suspicions off her about stealing)... was this before or after she fell off the 2nd floor?
oh that stealing stuff was before the fall
the young Seonah >>>>> this older version agh i hate this actress' acting so much it's actually killing me a bit
this choking/throat-grabbing scene could be so hot if it wasn't played by her
ah she stole the cross necklace fr
wonder if Gaon would fall into the things that Yohan cares about... or if it's too soon
Yohan pls "i was with a tough woman yesterday, she pulled my hair and kissed me" okay
heh casual outfit Elijah likes Gaon and Yohan teasing her about it pls they're so cute
omg? not that disagreeing/arguing about Yohan and the donation file in front of Elijah
poor teary-eyed Elijah
ah Yohan would ofc be very worried about missing Elijah, esp after he himself was recently abducted
aw fractured Yohan and Elijah relationship T.T
:0 woah all the young male idols falling over themselves to light the Minister's cigar
Minister and Director Jeong are so clever ah scary women my beloveds <3
I just hate her acting and manner of speaking agh
ohh that bike belonging to Director Jeong's right hand woman is indeed following Gaon's professor, not Gaon himself
ah so they were trying to catch Gaon's attention indeed oof and ofc the professor's first guess is that Yohan's ot someone tailing him
ah Judge Oh's ambition and greed to be seen will be easy for Director Jeong to manipulate
it's wild that Gaon's literally still living with Yohan lol after all the threats
Yohan's flogging influence, so widespread ah
who is this man who cashed out the money
oh Doctor Safety... money from Yohan? also did those look like flight details?
oof, miss girl you're gonna be killed
damn Gaon really landed a punch on Yohan. though Yohan can just do this and that bc he can't punch back his brother's face I guess
oh, so it wasn't Yohan? but what was the plan he told his right-hand man to execute then?
damn, Yohan's acknowledging that he gave the money, what's he planning??
oh hoooo Yohan's good at crafting stories and putting on a show. where'd the witness even come back from? wasn't he gone?
him openly targeting the foundation now ahhh
the foundation people all being those at the fire incident ah
Yohan loves causing chaos sooo much, he's so good at this
Ep 7 (June 3)
Yohan admitted to Gaon that he did in fact take Doctor Safety and make their stories straight to lie to the nation - oh never mind, not quite
well Gaon doesn't think Yohan attacked
oof Judge Oh is earnest but has the seeds in her head from Director Jeong
ah this talk that Director Jeong is giving these young orphan girls. also seems like CEO Seo did sexually assault her or something bc now he's turned into a dog who obeys her and is tortured by her
not her just killing that lady, similar to how her mother just happened to die
ooh Yohan and Elijah's miscommunications and Elijah feeling like Yohan's overbearing reminds me of Moonlight Chicken's Jim and Liming, though of course Yohan is suspected of murder and scheming by Eli
pls Gaon comforting Eli but then also teasing her
plsssss Yohan reading the book on how to talk to adolescents and trying to talk to Eli T.T he's so earnest and cute even though he's sooo bad at it
Yohan and Gaon deciding what to do together, huh? okayyy team let's go <3
lol Yohan scheming to get the Foundation people to be divided by just playing tricks
lmfao I think it's so funny that he had to do the countdown and do half, half's half, etc to predict the time
heh Yohan doing nothing but still getting these people to be suspicious of each other and saying everything is lies while Yohan just eats well. one of them even bringing up middle school I'm dead
ah, finally Gaon is working on a case lol
pls T.T the live stream to make sure everybody knows where he was so that he won't be found dead
who is Do Yeong Chun? is that Gaon's dad? no right since he already died? is it the guy who made Gaon's dad commit suicide? i was wondering if it's Yohan's father but seems not based on last name Do + Yohan's dad wasn't sent to prison or anything
i don't really know what they're talking about the land and money and stuff except that apparently things are fishy
Ah, Judge Oh realizing that Yohan and Gaon are working together and know these while she's being sidelined... rip girl. will you end up doing what the opposition wants because of it?
omg not Yohan bringing up Gaon's parents like this
they want
scary Director Jeong who wants to make CEO Seo take the fall
damn, CEO Seo is just straight up suggesting they kill Director Jeong lmfao
omg they really have a fake man taking the punishment for Gaon's parent's scammer Do. Yohan brought Gaon here to show his lawful justice system did not punish the man - i wonder if he himself would've orchestrated this or if this switch was from before? Do was happy on the day Gaon saw him so maybe it's not Yohan's doing
ah Director Jeong I d love her, the way she's asking about why Seo did that when she was young and had nowhere to go. she's so scary with the hug and stabbing (and I wish she hadn't kissed Yohan that time)
I feel like I'm gonna lose my mind wondering how much I would have liked Director Jeong's character if she was played by a different person
ah they killed Seo and said he committed suicide not because he embezzled but because somebody else did and had embezzled and fled and so he was doing his duty - so no harm to the Foundation as Jeong becomes the new Chairwoman instead of just Director
Ep 8 (June 4)
ah the foundation members came to the hospital afterward and it really made Yohan hate them more and their hypocrisy, saying all that while they escaped and harmed people while doing so
the devil is the self-pity of the powerful, so true actually
oh so Yohan did indeed change Do? agh
Gaon back at his own home finally
omg? they literally came up with a group of accountants from the Foundation who apparently embezzled the money and disappeared but they were actually trying to give the court show tips
oh hooo the Foundation and companions are powerful and they're turning the wave of support towards them with the "suicide" and the passionate speeches
Gaon has been enticed by the results that Yohan's unlawful court has been getting but he's been brought back to the lawful side by Suhyeon and his professor, but I guess we'll start to see him actually switch now?
pls Suhyeon pretending that it hurts and Gaon giving in is cute
ah when will Suhyeon's meddling get her killed?
oof, so they're "showing support" for the live court and are basically keeping an eye on them and having them work with the Blue House
Jeong Seonah is dom 4 dom, that could be so fun if I liked the actress
lmao Yohan saying I don't discriminate between men and women. well
oh shoot the "how much do you like me?" choking
did Seonah have the necklace in a way that it'd be easy for Yohan to get it back?
or was it in a way that the pin stabbed him when he pulled it? i can't tell
ah Yohan doing his best to get Gaon by his side so that he doesn't have to eliminate him - Gaon's still at least a bit suspicious of Yohan having switching the Do man right?
pls Elijah being like yo let's kill Do
ah Gaon definitely being like yeah seems like only someone with a strange purpose would do this switcheroo
ah Elijah herself reached out to Suhyeon, it's a bit surprising since last time was a bit of a disaster but I guess she's lonely and would take anybody - also I read on reddit that they were worried since Suhyeon left Eli in the car by herself
she confessed every time he cried? but he just cried earlier in this ep and she didn't confess
damn, Gaon's right that drunkards shouldn't be beating people or cops up but he supports the live ammunition stuff? be serious
damn, Gaon's being asked to give info so that his prof can close down live court
ooh, he's meeting all the people that Yohan has working for him, including the right-hand man dude. and they all were upset about the justice system not helping them
oof, Judge Oh you're good and have valid points about the chaos and exclusion but you're falling into Jeong Seonah's traps D:
ah, so it seems like Minister covered up Do's crimes and proceeds seizing? so not done by Yohan.
ah Gaon made his choice and ensured his prof knew he was with Yohan - though i don't fully get his argument like yeah obviously the justice system should've done better but definitely the unrest and chaos of the country isn't just because of that but I also don't get why his prof wants to disband live court as if that's the main cause of all this, the president and Foundation stuff had an even bigger hand now
From the reddit on air thread, people were annoyed by Gaon opposing Yohan and being lawful thus far but I felt like it made sense and this transition into Yohan's side has been fairly satisfactory
Ep 9 (June 4)
I was supposed to be half-done with my assignment or have at least worked for an hour before I came back to this show but uh I did like 10 minutes of work rip
oh, we're getting a little summary so far at the beginning, it's like chapter 2 of this show? second half?
okay please I believe Yohan will show up before anything really happens pls pls pls
oof, if this gets out, Seonah is gonna know what Yohan's weak point is
who was released? do we know them? Bamboo spear?
ah Seonah has moved onto new target to control: Yohan
I hope they don't become a romantic couple but just slap each other around - anyway, Yohan be careful though bc you make her mad enough and she'll fuck you up fr
ah that's when Isaac gave the necklace to Yohan - it's supposed to remind him of not hurting innocent people
oh are Bamboo Spear the people that were causing the riot and the guy who Suhyeon arrested?
ah, how will the ads be manipulated to Seonah's desire? esp since Judge Oh was in the middle for a few and Yohan stepped away for a few
is it a good idea to let the fact that she was a maid at his house get out (to the Minister)? She could talk about her humble background and being tortured by Yohan?
pls I was like why is Elijah saying "will he be okay?" but Nanny is just a v bad cook lol
ahhhhh this found family T.T putting off an appointment bc Elijah said Gaon's not letting anybody eat until all 3 are present
pls Gaon planning on using Yohan's money to get info out of Minister's assistant
T.T Gaon does not know how to interrogate this is so funny
exactlyyyy you should start packing up the gold bars bro
so did the assistant tell the truth? it's always suspicious to know whose word you can trust or not and who knows if the assistant will go back and immediately tell her and then he'll be moved soon
ah, it is indeed him
oof, it's hard to see all this and keep wanting revenge against Do but it's definitely different for Gaon and for good reason
ah Suhyeon immediately saying he'd arrest Gaon
noooo Gaon pls don't go and do something bad to Do right now, Yohan did say it's not just your revenge but it's gonna be useful for many people and things
D: omggggggg Gaon literally choking this man, don't kill him in front of his family D:
oh the money is still there, that's kinda expected but tbh as time went on i bought into his play
anyway don't actually burn the money right? bc you can have proof that the money exists with this man bc they didn't seize it
omg Yohan really made Gaon see that this man would choose to save the burning money than his family, who saved him just earlier
oh fake money, that's good
omg so many beautiful fire shots
I want to know what's in those little gift boxesss
is it to the other Do's victims?
oh it's from Jinyoung? I wondered if it's from Yohan's right-hand man
Ep 10 (June 4)
I wrote another paragraph of my assignment and am back here, rip
damn bruh the president is soooo into hating foreigners
pls the secretary is like 1 second away from dying after betraying Minister
yaas tracking master Elijah and clever girl group photos
ah is Suhyeon doing this now? is she gonna die tryna get the bamboo spears since there's no gun?
plssss secretary man being so shocked at Minister mentioning Kang Yohan
but yeah I'm excited to see Minister and Yohan meet, it's been a while
omg Elijah <3333333 mastermind
goddamn, so many people wtf
ah these people in the minister's office are even tracking the competitors and have bugs and stuff in their office lol
the autopsy thing? is Yohan giving them autopsy report in case they kill Seonah? or is that for something else? or is this her mother's autopsy? but then that shows that Yohan knew that they were looking into Seonah and stuff right or it's like fine that he guesses Minister would be looking into Seonah?
hard to tell if the bamboo spears guy is just overconfident or really has things up his sleeves? the president is on his side so i guess he has reason to be confident
wait hold on T.T the way Yohan and Seonah are interacting and speaking and body language and tone and stuff... I actually do wanna see them kiss or fuck or something, they're kinda... the way Yohan's speaking softly/cutely the way Seonah does ah it's kindaaaaaa
he really stresses the fact that she was a maid and stuff really often smh
everything the bamboo spear says is bullshit but the "our women" keeps killing me like tf are they products? possessions?
Gaon please be good at this show thing bc you're a newbie at this, not as clever as Yohan and not as natural and Judge Oh
omg have it be girl group merch pls
aw, the streamer girl isn't as funny as just TWICE merch
oof, they made him a loser instead of a revolutionary, good going in terms of the bamboo spear and the president's goals and the country's opinions on him
i hope nothing toooo bad happens to bamboo spear because that could turn out to be bad, no? though if yohan or gaon or something rescues him then he could be like okay fine I'll tell you about how the president raised me to be that
gaon as expected feels bad about the live stream
oof, Minister let Seonah know that she knows about her being a maid before and that's Seonah's wear point for sure - I wonder if Yohan wanted Seonah took come after him with vengeance and that's why he leaked it?
I'm getting worried for Elijah's safety though bc Yohan himself even told Seonah about her
Anyway, I think I hate the acting of Seonah less now than I previously did, so the fact that I find her character fascinating and sympathetic is coming out more
Ep 11 (June 4)
This time I at least wrote a few paragraphs before coming back, I've only got 5 hours till the due date and this episode is about to take up 1.5-2 hours.
ah the autopsy
The Minister is too cocky on her high horse, she does not know Seonah whatsoever, the way she's degrading her
ah foolish Yohan sleeping in public
Seonah with the blade omg
the way they interact with each other ahhh like Yohan forcibly remaining calm and relaxed while Seonah's got a blade in her hand and talking so softly and their eye contact
and Yohan basically daring her with the blade and eyes closed and taking her to his house as a guest this is crazy i kinda hope they fuck in there aw her eyes :<
but once again i hope she doesn't interact with or do anything to Elijah
now it's like well Yohan also has two hands <3 having dinner with Gaon on his left and Seonah in front of him
oh yeah does Seonah remember that Gaon looks like Isaac or no?
D: nooo I do feel bad for Seonah how did I even get here but here o.o eyes ever since she came to the house and seen everybody be a family only to be shattered when she realizes that she's being played with when Nanny comes and she's exposed, Yohan you're terrible!!
the necklaceeeeeee omg Yohan what are you playing atttttt he's really taking advantage of her desire to belong to this house and that place
and of course Seonah knows it's a trick but she's so tempted. i hope she's indeed tempted and that it makes her fall in the end but that she takes a gooood swing at Yohan before that
hmm what are these Foundation people planning on doing with Judge Oh? being their spokes person?
Yohan looks like a little stableboy with his sispenders and hair, watching them play Jenga
Yohan is so puppy looking cat-personality I die
oof, Seonah's aligning herself with Minister and rip Yohan's actress who testified against Minister's son is being brought up
oh nooo they've captured the actress' mother. mean Seonah
I hope the actress somehow lets Yohan know or something bc rip or somehow finesse the Minister and Seonah
ahhhh okayyyyyyyyyy so did Seonah and Yohan plan this?
literally like you should have treated the maid/secretary nicely Minister
damn Minister straight up wants to murder Yohan lol but in the end seems like she can't kill with her own hands
oh yeah I forgot that Yohan was looking for those files on the Foundation leaders and the president
ah they've got more in the cards for Minister
ah there really is everything from every side for Minister. the actress, Do Yeong Min & the prison guard there, multiple cases of abuse against defendants, Young Min apparently on drugs as the president knows
the gun on Minister's desk freaks me out ngl I'm like oh she might kill Yohan but also what if she kills herself and now I'm like what if she kills Suhyeon lol
oh she's crying and looking at the family photo I wonder if she really is considering killing herself, or if her love for life is stronger
ah, as expected she committed suicide
don't fucking touch her or step on her blood bruv
omg Gaon really said we must find the files and started rummaging around her clothes and her dead body, he is horrifying, even Yohan's a bit disturbed by it from the looks of it
duh Suhyeon would find them like this + she'd previously said she'd turn Gaon in if he did something bad, so
no like the scene of Yohan looking disturbed as Gaon is literally maneuvering the dead body of about 5 seconds and looking through her clothes for the files woah I didn't realize I'd like it so much. When he has finally succeeded in turning Gaon over to his side but is surprised by the cruelty in him
Ep 12 (June 4)
I finished my assignment!
ah Suhyeon lets them go and even wipes Gaon's handprint from the table woah this is what Yohan always means by opportunity because even righteous Suhyeon wavered despite what she told Gaon before about arresting him if he did something bad
yknow the fact that Suhyeon was so one-note law and righteousness this whole time kinda makes this choice more impactful
the president got the files oof
aw fuck Suhyeon even told Gaon to never face her again
ah, Yohan's pretending he's greedy for the same things that Seonah/others would be greedy for - with the presidential candidate and dream village business
damn even the right-hand man warning Gaon that don't get involved with Yohan or else you'll lose everything, including yourself
Yohan's crazed eye look while talking to Gaon about the plans and cutting out Suhyeon but Gaon saying Suhyeon's his world
this breakup ass montage
ah fuck Elijah D:
Yohan even telling Elijah that Gaon's not her father but then coming to apologize
the president is really just threatening no election, no democracy
agh ofc they'd be like "oh? Seonah you slept with Yohan?" and the president humiliating and yelling at her even though she's been the brains behind the soooo many things
please this intense scene where Yohan's running and thinking about everything with Gaon followed by a vitamin or whatever PPL ad is so
okayyy so Gaon briefly came back to the house? and made a meal?
This breakup ass flashback T.T the fuck
"It's okay if humanity gets destroyed, if you guys are here" he think about Gaon and Elijah? broooo my found family give it back!!!!!!
why is Min Jeong Ho's mind so one track though? Like he's not wrong about the live court brining in unrest but he's not the only one and the president and foundation are also extremely relevant proponents
oh who's tracking Yohan's right-hand man? oh seonah's girl
rip, she's going against Yohan again despite trying to protect him
so indeed the bamboo spear guy is the one who attacked the prof min jeong ho in the name of Yohan when he's not even actually a fan
oof Seonah's threw away the necklace, we really are going head on huh?
omg? they're fucking up the people in the slums, this is what the Foundation wants
ah stupid Yohan, does he still think Seonah's in his clutches? I hope she gets to fuck him up good before she loses or dies or what else
ah so she's captured Yohan's right-hand man too, I hope he survives, I liked him
damn, Yohan's even got loyalty to his right-hand man. he's really become so soft these past episodes
damn, Seonah really killed the right hand man :< and Gaon's being chased by the bamboo spear
where's my comment about how Seonah had lesbian vibes with Judge Oh (esp with the stair fall), some Minister scenes and some with her right-hand? Anyway, she got a good swing with Yohan and is really hurting him where he hurts, which was what I wanted
Ep 13 (June 4)
1 last episode for the night and weekend before Monday starts again tomorrow </3
poor guy Yohan's right-hand man
pls if something happened to Elijah I'll rip Seonah apart piece by piece
oh fuck all of Yohan's informants are being taken? ah to dream village where they're fucking taking all the poor people and people they don't want
oh? so the others who weren't the actress who just woke up were able to escape, that's good
bro why would you not be so quick to tell Elijah to not let Seonah in specifically and then now, tell her that Seonah's the one who shot you and to never let her in again like pls
awkward ass kiss for Suhyeon and Gaon ah pls T.T the aftermath Suhyeon's so cute
ah Judge Oh being used for all this as the spokesperson
everything is so chaotic and erratic in this country now
what's Yohan planning? what does he even have?
Judge Oh now that her eyes have been opened, hope she does well
tell me what grandma said about the right nowwwwwwww
man I was like yknow I don't think the romance is that forced between Gaon and Suhyeon but this confession stuff is making me annoyed because there are more things I'm curious about right now!! but I guess now is as good ofa time as any since everything's in crisis and Suhyeon probably gonna die in the next few eps
ah who is this joseph guy, does he know who set the fire? is it seonah?
yes Judge oh let's go and also now that Yohan's power has dwindled compared to before, his people have to barge into the control room with guns to be able to control the narrative and broadcast lol
also their priest-like robes
pretty cool broadcast
i also don't get what's the phone light supposed to do
woah some lighting and effects and broadcasting power. Yohan looked otherworldly standing up there
oh what the fuck D: that's such a wasteful death for suhyeon no no no and we also don't know what Joseph thing she found out about, was that joseph?
man what's up with the look Yohan's giving Gaon and Suhyeon
Ep 14 (June 5)
I'm watching this in my lunch break but this time my break is split in 2 so I can only watch for 30 mins T.T and then watch the other 40 mins later
ah so she's dead fr rip why they gotta kill her to further Gaon smh her entire character was just Gaon
would Seonah actually go along with the president releasing a virus in poor neighborhoods?
pls Yohan trying to get Gaon to eat
ahh Elijah too even saying ramen, they are so uncle and niece
ah back from the mid-lunch work hour
ahhh Seonah thinking about the poor people and the welfare girls with terrible upbringings D:
Seonah's been drinking so much, is this a new development?
I read on the on-air thread accidentally that apparently Gaon stops the electric chair or something, so I guess he's gonna stop the execution of Bamboo Spear ah I wish I hadn't known that
him using the likes to charge the electricity in electric chair is genuinely fucked wtf
the professor is so hyperfocused on Yohan that it's like? why doesn't he also take as much issue with presidency and the foundation? like they did all this riot and beating and murdering of the poor and no peep from prof, it'd be an oversight if he doesn't end up having been on their side this whole time or something
oh it's kinda interesting "what if Suhyeon saw you murdering someone with Yohan in front of her?" and it's a flashback to her finding them with Minister's body
ah, what's the president planning
he really did look otherworldly back then, Yohan standing up there watching somebody be beaten in his name, waiting for a victim
oh the president is just pulling a trick to make Bamboo Spear not talk and then let him die at the hands of Yohan and the nation with trust in the president
oh that's so harsh, the citizens are pressing and he's just getting more and more shocked omg fuck
ah fuck Gaon really did go behind Yohan's back this time and publicly too
bruh agh i was reading the on-air thread of eps 13-14 and someone was like prof better be working for foundation the way he's going against Yohan and then there was update like haha i was right bitches with no spoilers, warnings, nothing like fuck you
man actually fuck this cuz someone predicted elijah started the fire and then someone's out here commenting that they're absolutely right! like fuck you x2 and also someone was commenting like why are you commenting and spoiling here
Ep 15 (June 5)
I have 3-ish hours to watch these 2 episodes
ah this professor agh
lol the president's allies being like ah he's ruthless
people in the ep 13/14 on-air thread were soooo frustrated by Gaon (and they have been for a while) but like I get him? There might've been a better way to go about this but he needed to stop this. people were playing around with flogging but now everybody has a chance to take part in killing somebody? and Bamboo Spear wasn't even saying anything, so he would've just been killed and for what?
i mean yohan's self-pity is also self-pity of the powerful
hmm the president saying that the prof thinks it's yohan's fans who hurt him but it was indeed him and bamboo spear but does this mean prof isn't working for them? or it's like he's working for the foundation but only seonah knows or something
pls Elijah with "if you get caught, this house will be mine" and Yohan with "It's always been yours, from the beginning"
Seonah kill the president plsssss painfully, horrifically make him regret everything!!
Beautiful, evil, scheming, cunning Seonah
oh, he did say they set up chief justice of supreme court, so indeed he's working for the foundation, president just didn't know about it?
yknow I don't like the way Yohan talks to Seonah sometimes. very cruel and condescending about her upbringing and I don't like how he looks down on her in a way he doesn't on the men
he made her cry?! you fuck! who would have thought i'd have so much love for Seonah by the end
the truth will surely resonate with the people, right?
oh hooo that man left a winner after that speech, huh?
I saw a gif of Gaon trying to stab Yohan or something, so I wonder if Joseph or whoever has been paid off to say that Yohan caused it or something and give Gaon a reason to think that Yohan killed Suhyeon? what if even that grandma lady was paid off bc how'd she suddenly hear that somebody saw him in a random neighbourhood in seoul
last night? yohan's man came to you last night? I'm guessing he's lying but I suppose it could be someone other than K and Yohan wants to make sure nobody knows Elijah's set that fire accidentally
whose house is this? Gaon's own house? that man Joseph's house?
oh damn they got Joseph
bruh we've got Gaon looking through another dead body huh?
ah it really is Yohan's number rip Gaon but Yohan doesn't seem to recognize it? he just asked hello a few times and seems confused
ah Yohan stopped the knife and is bleeding just like Suhyeon
damn, Gaon even called prof and cops? or no? if not, how did they know?
ah, rip Gaon you really fell onto the Foundation's trap but clever cunning forward-thinking Seonah really saw Gaon and knew exactly how to play him
i hope the prof dies so bad just terribly terribly terribly
Gaon was Yohan's weakness, ah
pls Elijah have somehow recorded it all or something idk
ah so the woman and Joseph said the truth but the last car thing was Seonah's doing
as expected, Elijah set it all on fire accidentally
oh no, she only came out right now, no chance she knows what went on
Seonah having Yohan on his knees and pleading and desperate and saying she's only ever wanted to have him look at her like that, Seonah you are so real - although his screams are too loud and harsh for me
you can't decide to die Gaon!!!! you've got to save them!!!
I think the fact that they made Yohan so flawed yes appealing with the sad background and soft touches and loyal and caring and well-meaning and seeker of justice has made me latch onto Seonah even more because she's just evil with soft spots for like young women and is lonely but she's ruthless and cunning.
Ep 16 (June 5)
I didn't stop at all, onto the next ep! oh it's 95 minutes lol
I do know that Yohan has to save Gaon from a bomb though and says "I was too late, huh?"
Gaon said last ep that he's decided to die and now he's saying he'll get Yohan back even if it kills him ummm I don't like that but I also don't think Gaon died bc I feel like I'd be spoiled for that in ep 13/14 and also I was a smiley gif of Yohan from like ep 16 probably and he might be in jail in that idk but yeah it wasn't tragic looks so
oh Elijah T.T poor girl
ah Gaon you cannot be hoping this cop guy would help you much but I believe you've got this
oh yeah it's a prison outfit that I saw Yohan smiling in that gif - so indeed I guess this smile gif could be before Gaon dies but I still don't think that'd be true
oh dumbass prof is actually just stupid lacking braincells 0 thoughts in his head bc I thought he was a more diabolical player in the foundation but he was just sooo one track mind about Yohan and live court that he was tricked up Seonah too agh stupidity like at least Gaon can see that everything is corrupt and Yohan's not the only one causing chaos but this fucker is so hopeless
Seonah's smoking scene slight parallel to Minister's
damn, president and wife are scheming fr, what are they doing at the weekend village and is the wife planning on leaving the other foundation members there?
ah that photo of Yohan sitting in the sun is what I saw in that gif
ah, Gaon in a food box lol
this is giving me slight Squid Game vibes. it really is quite dystopian, like the YA novels from before
oh, they got the actress girl in Yohan's squad in here
I hope somehow whatever Gaon's recording can be transmitted outside immediately like live bc he must have accounted for not getting back, right?
ah the powerful's slow-mo laughter again
these men are sooooo "i don't like aggressive women like Seonah and Minister" "lowly maid" die die die die fuckers
I know Gaon can't just leave this girl who he knows but this is scary
okayyy miss nurse
I think it'd be fun if they used Seonah to spread the word or something because she has heart for the people here and wants these bastards in her clutches too
awww that girl T.T aww Seonah regretting her actions T.T
he's not really dead, right? That makes no sense and it's too early. I wonder whose plans this fake news was
oh wtf Gaon is the one who attached his fucking bomb to himself
of course hero Yohan comes to save the day
now kiss?
Yohan is so beautiful idk what to do, how old is he exactly because he might be the oldest man thus far who I'vebeen enamoured b due to looks. omg he's 46 well he doesn't look it
no way they forgot the fucking Dke app right? pls T.T
imagine being a random citizen though like mans is a ray of hope amongst chaos and corruption, turns out he fucking murdered someone too, ends up getting murdered, than his face is back on your screen and big screens like
also what has the mibo group dude been planning or thinking up or what? like he's been suspicious the past few scenes
pls 10 million likes on Dike app, he's such a showmaster till the end
ah so mnbo group mans indeed spoke with yohan and co. to get them all in the room
I was actually thinking it reminds me of the electric chair voting thing but he recreated the fire church from a decade ago
ahhh the chaos of the powerful once again, these scenes are so fun
yesssssss Seonahhhhh blast his fucking brains out
"Is it the two of us, in the end? Come with me, Seonah-ya (katchi gaja seonah-ya)" while Seonah points a gun at him and he's ready to blow everything up
noooo she died before 2/3 of the men did???? fucking hell she should've killed the other 2 first, no? why did both the cool women shoot themselves in the head and did she die because she couldn't kill Yohan? hope not
oh my dear Seonah TT This show doesn't know what to do except make women die for their men they love. I wish Yohan also liked her just a bit considering she loved him a fair amount
i keep thinking the bomb isn't actually real or something but who knows tbh
damn, the way Yohan threw Gaon out, I guess the bomb is truly real
but would the people really do it when they know that their judge would die too? or is the broadcast over and they just think only those criminals are in the room?
bomb escape plan?
girl would Yohan and Elijah just leave to Switzerland by themselves? what about my trio of found family huh?
Gaon having to do judge duties amongst everybody now ah so
why is this Gaon looking for Yohan like Strangers From Hell lol
Gaon going after Yohan in the airport ah
bro you're supposed to kiss now what is this staring at each other from a few feet away
man sad ass ending for Gaon
Overall:
The script was apparently even gayer
Good show but after 2 days, I don't think it's one that will haunt me unless I guess I rewatch it and fall in love even more.
Cool concept with the live court, I liked how it played with the viewers and the in-show audience. It was also wild to see people pressing the button to kill somebody or how the flogging was emulated in public.
Ji Sung was a great actor to play Yohan, he's beautiful, he's charming, he's intimidating, he can play both arrogant and cute. Probably the oldest man who I've been attracted to lol, he was like 45-ish here. I think he was an interesting character for sure, though by the end we were getting a hero treatment with him and his tragic story. I'm still aghast at the fact that he was going to get the whole country to kill this dude. He's my puppy cat cutie though and he was a clever schemer, so I forgive.
Seonah my beloved like I don't even know what to say. I hated her acting soooo much in the beginning, it was making my skin crawl and I talked about it in every fucking scene she was in but by the end, she might be my favourite character, who knows. I wish she fucked people up just a bit more when Yohan or the chairmen/president fucks berated her for being a maid or were condescendingly misogynistic. She was so clever and cunning and forward thinking and fearless, yet with hints of loneliness and care for young girls, she was a great villain ah <3
Gaon was fine to be honest, I think people were frustrated by him but I felt like his inability to trust Yohan made sense considering Yohan's a sick bastard and people who he trusted more distrust Yohan.
I wish the girls Judge Oh and Suhyeon were given more depth and utility because they were very flat characters who had some usage sometimes but were often just out of the loop and had little impact on the narrative. agh. Minister was a badass though, that scene of her with the cigar and the idol boys falling over themselves to light it is engraved in my mind. The scene of Seonah shaving Yohan is also engraved in my mind.
Seonah x Yohan sicko dynamic is so good I love it so much - the shaving scene, the way Yohan would trick Seonah in the later episodes by speaking softly cutely to her (although I wish he was less condescending towards her agh), her goal to make him as lonely as she was ahhh I wish they fucked. Suhyeon x Gaon could have really been bodyguard gf x princess bf but alas, they had like a day together after kissing lol
Yohan and Gaon were so homoerotic, this was expected from the reviews. Ah, there were some scenes that were just? truly how could this be not romantic?
I loved Yohan, Elijah, and Gaon so much. Both the uncle-niece relationship and their little found family trio. The meals, the family games, their fun and sarcastic conversations, I'm heartbroken that in the end, Gaon is all alone without these 2, with a dead best friend and a traitor of a mentor being a judge in a system that's just as corrupt.
Rating: 7.5/10 7/10 - same as Strangers From Hell [Jan 25, 2024 Update: Decreased by 0.5 stars when rerating my top shows: 7.5 -> 7]

Oh, you KNOW I was made for the hate wins ask game. Could I get uhhhhhhhhhhhh 1, 5, 6, 7 & 16, please? <3 I would ask you more, but I feel like that's excessive, and I need to get to work now. Okay, love u, bye, see you when I get home <333
sigh. Don't touch me.
I don't have a single fandom I'm known for or particularly attached to right now, so ill just jump around as i feel.
THE CHARACTER EVERYONE GETS WRONG
I am self appointed idiot who makes every character i get my grubby little hands on ooc. Because of this, I can't say for sure that any characterization I see of my faves is objectively WRONG because my own ideal version of them is surely not right. Now, having been an adult and saying all this I can say with the utmost confidence this award must go to Claude Von Riegan [FE3H] just by virtue of how he's probably one of the more popular characters i adore and as such gets the brunt of the bullshit.
I hate when people write him as this flirty, overly charming guy. Claude cannot flirt his way out of a clear bag and he is paranoid as shit. He isn't seducing your white prince and dragging him down to the dark (ha) side. He also doesn't strike me as someone who's deeply curious about other house's gossip because he actually cares. Claude stays in the know because not knowing is a blind-spot he can't allow himself to have. Screams. its whatever.
5. WORST DISCORD SERVER AND WHY
Worst discord I was ever in ... hard toss up between the ye-olden HQ discord servers or the one dmcl one I was in? Surprisingly, as far as I experienced it, both had very nice people in it on the whole. But the sad truth is too many cooks in the kitchen fucks up the simple soup-- which is to say, having so many other fans with different [WRONG] interpretations was annoying.
I can't deal with not having complete control or like, a general understanding with the people around me in fandom discussions so these servers were just, by their own nature, places I was never meant to be in. [Spits] What do you mean CLAUDE would wanna join the BL class. Go to hell.
6. WHICH SHIP FANS ARE THE MOST ANNOYING? WHY?
Short answer? sylvix. Long answer? Regardless of the fandom, the fans of the biggest most accepted ship [canon or otherwise] will always be the loudest and most annoying imo.
When you've never had to work for your food you get comfortable fast and complain more. Its a natural byproduct of being lucky enough to deeply enjoy the lowest common denominator. In most cases, regardless of fandom-- whatever reigns supreme brings the biggest headaches with it. But If this is still too general then... mmm.. people who ship objectively canon ships because their imaginations can be too small and they'll find rare-pairs odd, weird or even stupid to be into. Many a time I've had someone tell me "they've never even spoken tho.." as if that was a needed component of every ship. They're tiresome people with tiresome arguments. But it's whatever <- she is the most annoying bitch alive.
7. WHICH CHARACTER DID FANON RUIN FOR YOU?
This one is really interesting honestly. I'm usually pretty ambivalent about anyone that isn't in the blorbo pile or the poison pit.... but.... maybe Dedue or Ferdinand? Dedue because f3h fans racism and Ferdinand because he was always someone shipped with Hubert and little else. I think its sad, both ,men have so much going for them too. I'll put Tsukishima on this list as well because he was my number one and ruined by fandom. Actually no put like 90% of the HQ cast here actually hq Fandom sucks ass and ruins every cool guy. it's a bitch.
16. YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE THIS THING
God. I'm such a hater.,... this could really go on forever... Okay, I swat at the hornets nest for this one. fics over 100k. 9 times out of ten, they're not good. Quantity/=/ Quality. Usually most of the word count is just used for shit you didn't even come to the story for. That's fine, I respect any writer who can even make that much of ANYTHING, but people who can read it (and more so ACTIVELY search for it) are odd to me.
I've been worrying on this for a few days and mellowed out since I started so nothing is tooo grating or bitchy here. Look guys I'm kind and sweet forever. Enjoy. Huzzah.

oh did you want long angry rants for the unrecommend ask meme hm. oh I know. I unrecommend yu/wu (余/污) it's this chinese bl webnovel and...
look on a moment to moment level it's really fun to read, there's chekhov's guns set up in the first 10 chapters that are set off in the last 10 the whole book is very dense with reveals etc and parts of the character work was very compelling. but like. once you finish it and actually start thinking about it the whole thing is just so, so thin. everything is internally consistent within its own logic yk.
like first the entire book focuses on how rotten to the core the nobility of Chong/hua is how awful, selfish, fake everything there is... aaaaand the entire climax was a "yeah the nobles squabble in peacetime and all but when faced with an existential threat they all band together and work like a well oiled machine :) :) :) oh you expected the ending to have some resolution to this conflict? fuck you we've installed a new emperor that's shown throughout the story to also be corrupt but we have a threat to keep them in line. they'll slowly reform the system :) :) :) we have to go with this though bc the new emperor's the best option possible... if we keep to the made up rules about only being able to choose from the imperial bloodline. even though this existential threat has shaken up the country enough that you can probably get away with someone else. or not having an emperor at all. you know" (poking at the worldbuilding [or like. anything not on a character level] of romance webnovels is an exercise in frustration but I keep finding myself doing it)
(there's a reveal involved with the new emperor that could be read as transmisogynistic but it was such a nothing reveal - happened at the end of the story so there's not much done with it - that there isn't really anything interesting to say about it)
+ one of the main protagonist's motivation is literally "he was born as a slave and wants a better life for his fellow slaves and to prove slaves are just as competent as nobles in xianxia!fighting" so you'd expect it to yk. do much of anything about it. or at least not fumble it given the focus. but like later literally all the major + powerful characters ended up having noble blood and all 3 of the non-noble characters who were subtextually positioned as "see they're also super powerful and they don't have noble blood".... ended up having noble blood. from the top noble families no less. which. yeah not a fan!
also this is likely unintentional (I think the author just likes writing about dubcon/noncon relationships which I mean all power to her) but there were 3 mlm relationships in this book and every one of them except the main couple involved one sexual abusing (or otherwise predating on) the other so. yk. don't like that.
+ a major source of conflict between the two leads is "the protagonist that was born as a slave finally couldn't stand the cruelty of Chong/hua and defected to an evil empire, killing a bunch of the Chong/hua's soldiers, stabbing the other protagonist in the chest, etc."
but like the way that was resolved is literally "oh turns out he didn't do/had a Secret Good Reason for doing/isn't the one at fault for All That" which. let him have done some bad things for christ's sake I mean first saintlike perfect characters just aren't all that interesting to me but also why did he have to be perfectly innocent and not at fault at all to not deserve all that was done to him. couldn't he have done everything he's accused of and still not deserve how he's treated dammit.
also I said the amount of chekhov's guns are supremely satisfying and I stand by that but also it makes everything loop back to the protagonists which makes this whole-ass kingdom feel so goddamn claustraphobic this is an entire country why is there only like ~20 actual people in here
(tbf on a purely character level most of the folks that actually get characterised are characterised pretty well but the number of those are... small considering the scale of the story. also this doesn't help how flaccid the slave plot ended up being considering there's close to no slave in the plot that is given interiority. there's an entire army full of them but they're treated like a collective)
and there's the typical chinese ableism towards the mentally ill/etc (background radiation of my life) + distasteful genre tropes but I came in expecting that so
(although I would argue the Ontologically Evil Empire's effects on the story is notably worse than average)
plus like I love melodrama but even with me the prose felt so cloying and exaggerated I can't articulate it but I was getting a toothache reading it. although I see folks talk about how gorgeous the prose is so hey maybe it's a taste thing.
+ this is a neutral judgment but whenever I start doubting I'm asexual I think about this book and immediately am sure again. the thirst is like some gravitational force that everything in the story bends towards itself which. glad other folks are happy not my thing though.
anyway yeah *offers this rant like a raccoon* there's other stuff but that's mostly nitpicking. generally I describe it as "really fun in the moment-to-moment if you're the target audience but once you start thinking about yk. everything else it's just more and more. why was it like that. why was it written this way."
tbf a fair amount of my dislike is "dead dove do not eat / I don't know what I expected" but in my defence the way I was sold it vastly skewed/overinflated my expectations (picture the way folks sell atla/pjo/etc. as so much more than it is)
(I'm self censoring with /'s bc ik there is a decent fandom for it on here)
Excellent rant thank you very much. And also, like, not exactly familiar with the genre but that sounds deeply painful, yes!
That said,
+ one of the main protagonist's motivation is literally "he was born as a slave and wants a better life for his fellow slaves and to prove slaves are just as competent as nobles in xianxia!fighting" so you'd expect it to yk. do much of anything about it. or at least not fumble it given the focus. but like later literally all the major + powerful characters ended up having noble blood and all 3 of the non-noble characters who were subtextually positioned as "see they're also super powerful and they don't have noble blood".... ended up having noble blood. from the top noble families no less. which. yeah not a fan!
This or something like it happens so often in every fucking type of fantasy and I loathe it with every fucking fiber of my being.

ok i watched rwrb and was live-blogging it for bl archiving purposes:
this was a BEAUTIFUL movie. everything from the colors to the camera angles to the set design was marvelous.
the acting was amazing from both leads but my god. taylor zakhar perez. SIR. still gathering my thoughts over how much this man ruined my life.
I loved the latinx and texan culture they infused all throughout, especially the music
also that the movie preserved the original book's horniness. particularly after the whole heartstopper purity bullshit i think we needed a few gratuitous shots of taylor zakhar perez getting dicked down thank you very much.
the cringe moments were not as bad as i expected. they were mostly the same moments i cringed over reading the book so i appreciated they didn't add to the cringe volume :)
ok IM LYING. there was a movie-specific cringe moment and it was this:
(because i cannot for the life of me accept that the epitome of privilege prince harry/william avatar would read bernadine evaristo but whatever go off liberal utopia)
did i mention taylor zakhar perez.
ALSO UMA THURMAN. that woman only gets finer with age doesn't she 😩
yeah i hated the email leak thing now just as much as when i read the book. (i did appreciate they tried to infuse some queer coming out politics into it this time around tho. at least i think it was a bigger thing this time around???)
"I have fallen in love with a person who happens to be a man and that man happens to be a prince." congratulating myself for not puking here
i really appreciated all the women in this movie were hot. casting really did us a solid
MISTER GORBACHEV PUT THESE TWO LOVESICK HOMOSEXUALS ON THE PHONE WITH ONE ANOTHER
zahra and shaan......... listen. all i'm saying is i would like to see it.
i already knew stephen fry was going to be the homophobic grandfather but it didn't make it any less enjoyable.
me when i overshare online
makes you wonder what sort of times we live in that they had to update the president's acceptance speech to reflect the current anti-trans legislation in the US
"wow you really are working class aren't you?" whoever tried to make the script more relatable needs to be fired.
all in all, an okay movie. i didn't go in with high expectations because i didn't love the book, but i liked to see the amount of effort put into making it all very gay. on the whole the plight of the very special prince boy remains supremely unrelatable to me even when it's undercut with the narrative of queerness and acceptance, but i still have hopes this movie ushers in more big budget queer stories that are not about idk. the most privileged people on planet earth. but we might be waiting a while folks ! (at least on this side of the globe)

wait stay by my side is good??? and no one told me??? or maybe i keep confusing stay by side and stay with me lol
as someone who is all caught up on both shows - they're both fun 😄
this ask is from three days ago when I talked about how stay by my side (taiwanese show about a boy who can hear ghosts and the guy who gives him a break through touch) had a very fun sixth episode. i wasn't into the show that much but ep.6 gave me some heart-fluttering moments and cute angst that I neither took seriously nor disliked - it was fun for me because of the execution, the fact I don't take anything happening in the show to heart and because the show is short enough so I sensed a resolution was coming very soon 😁
now ive seen episode 7 as well and I can say 6 is definitely my fave. the conflicts are predictable, theres nothing really new but thats what goves you the safe feeling - you dont risk breaking your heart watching it haha. i'd recommend this in case you want a quick sweet watch with "cute silly boy denying his feelings" and "cold rude guy turned passionate suitor". it's the lightest watch i've seen in a while and it's my palette cleanser these days (everything I watch is angsty apparently and the angst supreme™️ trio of loa, of and dr hasn't even reared its ugly head yet lol)
stay with me (the og title of which I find real cute: "gege, don't run") is as far as I know a remake of addicted - a chinese bl that was Very direct in regards to what it's about and therefore got canceled AND banned and the main actors - banned from interacting with each other on tv or at public events for years; I thought swm would be a story set in the same universe or smth but as I watched the first episode I kept getting deja vu until I realised it's the same plot lol
it's about two teens whose dad and mom, respectively, got together - the boys claim to hate each other before they even meet, then fate brings them together without them recognizing each other and shenanigans ensue. it's about found family, finding common ground with parents you can't communicate with, about forgiveness and acceptance. the characters are very lovable <3 the crew is doing their best fighting censorship so it's very clear that the couple are not just bros. they can't, however, do what addicted did so many might prefer the 2016 show. I, personally, was not a fan of the mains in that - wu bi is too possessive for me in this version but his predecessor was Something Else
it's a very standard modern mainland china show. the reason im mentioning this is because of clips on tt and having not seen a cdrama in a while, i had the impression itd be more like a taiwanese or korean bl. the editing, dubbing, bizarrely cut scenes - nothing new in cdrama land. i was wondering if I would recommend it but I think I would, yes. some coincidences and plot points are just so beyond belief that you'd roll your eyes but it's not smth unheard of when it comes to asian dramas haha and I think you'd get so caught up in the angst, domesticity and hunting down hints spread around like easter eggs that you just won't mind the convenient plots (if you would care bout such a thing in the first place)
I'm doing a bad job at promoting this show but I do want more people to see it. the cast is perfect imo (..except for duo duo, I'm sorry but that bby cannot act..her face and aura suit the character though), the sets are all amazing (I like the school, I like su yu's home, I like the shared space later on etc.etc., all decor is very well picked and pleasant to the eye) and the moral of the story is heartwarming, its execution too.
you get passionate hot-headed athletic rich boy who's crazy for his equally smitten furrow-browed genius humble guy - they both value family and each other very much and are willing to do everything for those close to them. it's very endearing and their dynamic is swoonworthy, they're a complete power couple.
(also, spoiler, you get enemies to friends to lovers which is pretty neat)(the spark is there from day 1 tho)
EDIT: i wrote this before the final two episodes were released so disclaimer - POST FINALE SPOILER: if you don't like open endings, esp distressing ones, i don't advise you watch it now - better wait for a secure second season
#stay by my side also has an enemies to lovers arc i just dont feel like promoting it as much lol#petri replies#not sleeping waiting for the finale btw thats how im answering asks lol#so watch it yall#EDIT: I AM PISSED

bring capitalism into the equation, and we're getting the fetishization of gay relationships
Genuine Question: How does capitalism play a role here? I can't imagine BLs make so much money that this would be an actual problem? Artists need to live, eat, sleep and need to invest in the tool of their trade, so can capitalism really play a significant role outside of keeping people alive?
In Kabe Koji for instance, the lead is a successful bl manga artist and he doesn't seem to be well off. And it's not like BLs are in any way high quality stuff. Even GMMTV, the oldest and largest player in BL don't seem to have so much money that it can count as something even close to exploitative. Kinnporsche only had the money it did because of Mile and even they nearly went bankrupt.
I don't think BL/yaoi/y-novels are the kind of genre that makes a lot of money and that means people who write these stories are doing so because they love them. Should we really gatekeep that?
bl is a capitalist venture that oftentimes perpetuates harmful stereotypes
(Boy India would eat you alive.) BL as we know today is a pretty young genre. And there are growing pains to everything. No one gets everything right off the bat and that's okay. Allowing people to grow is the important bit. I'll say this as a queer Asian, BL isn't anything different than most romance movies and shows. The problematic things most westerners site exist in Het romances as well. They are working with that frame of reference and that might seem like a Thing to westerners but for us it's one and the same. Not to say it's okay but this is about putting things into perspective. The BLs are mostly emulating Het romances with boys. Of course this isn't always the case and is less and less so lately but that's where it started because unlike say the US, a regular person doesn't really have a frame of reference for what is culturally queer in their own country given all the homophobia. Like in India, you go to Mumbai, you have a gay night life and even then you have to know someone to know where and when. I'm not from Mumbai, I'm from a Tier 2 city in Gujarat. I've never in my life heard about gay stuff. Which also means I have no frame of reference for what is considered culturally queer in India. Again, just putting things into perspective. Homophobia runs our lives and narratives in ways I don't think westerners really understand. Which might be another place this discourse comes from. India won it's queer rights in silence. I bet most people don't even know there is a Supreme Court case going on right now about marriage equality. ThaiBL made the world focus on their marriage equality issues and that's the only reason most westerners would even know that this is a thing. In a way ThaiBLs represent all of us Asians saying that we deserve marriage rights too. And that is a BIG deal.
As far as The Eighth Sense is concerned, it's like you mentioned one of the creators is a European and that certainly influences the way he would have seen the story and BL in general from a European perspective. To him it would all look and feel strange but Asians understand.
I recently had a conversation with my father about 'Why Gujarati's are ... basically running India and most of the world' (it's more complicated than that but that's a topic for another time) (we say this because our PM is Gujarati, most of India's biggest business owners are Gujarati, most of America is run by Gujaratis and Punjabis (we are a big deal there)) Anyway, the important bit is - Asia fundamentally views the world different than westerners. That doesn't mean we don't like things like liberty and freedom and equality. It means we are a collectivist society (which has it's own problems but that's another thing altogether) as opposed to most of the west's individualistic society. Capitalism is evil for you people because your individualism leaves no space for moral responsibility of your fellow countrymen. It's not the same for us. It's also why people didn't understand GAP. Sam not leaving her grandmother is not unique for us. We take care of our elders. We always have. We always will. It's also why Mon couldn't ask her to leave with her, it would be wrong. There are thousands of Indian movies where this is the main conflict. Many views have been presented and ultimately it's an individual choice but society will look down on you. That's just how we are. There is nothing wrong with that.
To go back to the point of BL vs Queer Media, it's the same way people consider Anime to be for children. Our perspectives are inherently different because out cultures are different.
As Asians I don't think we should try to fit the mold of the West and what they think is real, actual queerness or queer representation. And for Westerners, I think people should start to accept that there are people who are fundamentally different to you and that's not a bad thing. It's not a discourse. That's just people being people. Cultures being cultures.
Now of course, this is an Indian perspective. It will be fundamentally different to a Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Korean perspective. Hell, I imagine an Indian would have something totally opposite to say. But that's the point of diversity and India has kinda mastered the art of diversity.
(I'd also say the West has no right to determine what is and isn't queer. Asia was pretty fucking queer friendly until the West started poking around. In fact this debate is itself a remnant of colonialism. They destroyed our history and now poke at us to laugh when it's the exact effects they intended.)
ik there's the contentious topic about categorizing things as bl and making the distinction between bl and queer media, and i do think there have been valid points in the discourse about how bl is changing and its going through a sort of r/evolution now that bl is getting pretty big (and i'm talking exclusively about asian bl here btw, so in this context it would be the globalization of asian bls). but i also think that it's important to not disregard history and bl's roots.
bl was created by women for women in the 1970s in japan. although from a feminist perspective, bl challenges gender and sexual norms, bring capitalism into the equation, and we're getting the fetishization of gay relationships for (predominantly) straight female consumption.
idt it's a "right or wrong" situation. i believe two truths can exist: bl is a capitalist venture that oftentimes perpetuates harmful stereotypes, but bl can also be liberation for a lot of people. especially asian bl—as a bisexual woc, seeing nonwhite queer media is so so important to me. and i am not asian, but i know it's especially been revolutionary for my fellow queer asian brothers, sisters, & enby siblings.
i read somewhere that the directors instructed juntaek to not watch (korean) bl when studying for his role in the eighth sense. i found this reeeeally interesting, since i've also seen people mention that the eighth sense is not a bl, but queer media. i also think it's important to point out that one of the directors/writers is a white european man, and i'm pretty sure he was the one who told juntaek to watch things like skam or call me by your name instead of kbls—i haven't seen skam but cmbyn is white queer cinema (also problematic, but i digress). in the past, there was also that british bl heartstopper (sorry besties i still haven't seen it i probably should), in which the author expressed that they did not want to label it as bl, but there was backlash as, at least the show, clearly drew inspiration from asian bl.
as a historically asian genre, how does this distinction (bl vs. queer) perpetuate the western hegemony of queer thought? usually when people make this distinction, i don't think they take into account that race plays as much as a part as queerness (intersectionality is so important). but on the other hand, i also understand that bl has clear tropes and narrative structures that make it a bl. we wouldn't call moonlight a bl, or the handmaiden a gl. but also, films are a different medium with less restrictions (if you've seen a korean film vs. a kdrama, you get me lol).
i definitely don't have an answer or anything. the eighth sense is filmed through such a queer lens and it touches on the nuances of the queer experiences in a way i haven't really seen in bl, but i still i find myself wary of proclaiming that it's not bl, ja feel? is the eighth sense (along with bls such as bad buddy, old fashion cupcake, to my star, etc.) a marker of the r/evolution of bl? i guess i just wanted to open up the conversation to hear people's thoughts, especially from my fellow queer pocs.
at the end of the day we're all here to be entertained, but i'm glad to see discourse and think it's fruitful in the long process of decolonizing our mindsets.
#asian perspective#indian perspective#bl vs queer media discourse#thai bl#japanese bl#chinese bl#india#desi bl#desi blr#queer perspective#this was supposed to just be 'BLs don't really make that much money'#but it spiraled from there#anyway the more you know

~ getting to know your BL mutuals ~
I was tagged by @leonpob so lessgo
I’ve been stressed about this for days cause I need to make the RIGHT choices?????!
rules: answer the questions and @ some people. include the tag 'g2ky BL mutuals 2022' on your post so we can find everyone's answer.
what have been the BLs that took you by surprise this year?
I think I was the most surprised by Eternal Yesterday. I went into it expecting something more along the lines of Senpai, This Can't Be Love or Kabe Koji, which is kind of slapstick, lighthearted and not too intellectually challenging, but boy was I proven wrong. The show manages to take a ridiculous premise and turn it into a well-written, well acted story that is probably going to break my heart (at the moment the final episode is yet to air...)
what have been the BLs that you felt a bit a lot disappointed with this year?
Sing In Love.
I was excited about a grittier plot and a new Japanese production, but it just made me uncomfortable and I did not want to finish it.
Cherry Magic The Movie also felt like a letdown. It just bored me, honestly.
what has been your favorite BL this year?
omg i looked up a list to see which ones were from this year, and it was like 5 Japanese, 5 Korean, 5 Taiwanese and then 60 billion Thai😂
I think my favorites are Old Fashion Cupcake and Eternal Yesterday.
Old Fashion Cupcake is everything I wanted in a good drama; good pacing, relationships between characters that make sense, believable character behavior and good acting and also really hot actors.
Eternal Yesterday has just absolutely overwhelmed me. I am a sucker for melancholic stories (to the surprise of literally no one), and the way Japanese dramas manage to wrap up some quite profound thoughts about the world and what it means to be a human is something I really adore.
In Episode 6 when Koichi asks if it's impossible for the people you love to be tied in the same place; for two people to be equally important to and loved by you. Or Episode one, where Mitsuru says it's not that Koichi broke down his wall, but he opened a door through it.
I really thought about adding More Than Words to the list, but I feel like it shouldn't really be grouped into the BL-genre. I still feel like the frames of the genre are limiting many aspects of film-making and storytelling, and that it's more an LGBT+ story than a BL drama.
favorite BL couples (not just of 2022)?
BounPrem and YinWar I think. Now that Prem has gone independent, I just want him to drag Boun with him to Yin and War to create a Supreme Company for Hot People™ and to actually make the YinWar Concert Trailers into a really hot show.
Especially War is an absolutely incredible actor, so I just really hope the two of them will get some interesting projects in the coming year!
what's your non-BL favorite this year?
Silent.
No doubt, no question. It's so good. Everyone and their grandmother should watch it pls.
.... Oh wow I am really biased, huh? 😬😬
I didn't intend for every show on here to be Japanese, I just think the Japanese shows I'm mentioning are a lot more well-rounded than the Korean and Thai and Taiwanese counterparts that I've seen this year. I am intrigued by how Korea seems to be branching out more and embracing the genre not as adaptations of fictional stories, but as stories about people. I just feel like the genre is so old in Japanese medias that they're a step ahead and I like how the Japanese shows are carried by the stories of the characters and their little lives rather than some large, daunting outer factor.
I want to tag a lot of people but I am an awkward turtle so I don't have a lot of people to tag. I hope it's ok to tag @storge and @chaeunwoo 🥺
