Uranium Club — Infants Under the Bulb (Static Shock)
Join Uranium Club for the demented rants and snaky, agitated jams, but stay for the bizarre, beguiling window on our bizarre, beguiling times. Now, there’s nothing wrong with rants and jams alone — it is punk rock, after all — but this band is more ambitious. On their latest full-length, Infants Under the Bulb, these enigmatic Minneapolitans fling their conceptual heft in a new direction and expand their musical objectives without ceding much, if any, of their signature, careening tension.
Uranium Club has often pushed up against its core guitars-drums-bass sound to set or deepen a scene, but mostly at the margins. The space-age synth textures on 2016’s “God’s Chest,” for instance, or the cacophony of honks and alarms from “Grease Monkey” and muted piano underneath “Interview With The Cosmo Cleaners,” both from 2019. Though even in the latter example, which lasts the bulk of the song’s nearly 11 minutes, the embellishment seems more sampled than played. It tugs the main thrust of the music to another place. It’s pleasantly disorienting, but almost superficial.
On Infants Under the Bulb, horns and keyboards, when present, are embedded deep. “Viewers Like You,” with its desperate Eddie Argos-ian outbursts is driven by winding bursts of guitar, bass and drums, but it’s the tight yet delightfully berserk horn section that supercharges the riffs and rhythm before squiggling off into freer, jazzier spheres. It’s jolting and bracing and fits snugly into the band’s hard-charging style. So too does a similar, if more fleeting interplay on “Big Guitar Jack Off in the Sky.” Counter to its name, the song is most notable for the charismatic piano and saxophone parts than the racing guitars, a compliment to the new elements more than a beef with the eponymous instrument. Uranium Club has been and remains a great guitar band.
And a great vocal band. With Art Brut’s Argos, I’ve already mentioned one frontman I hear in Uranium Club’s ravings, but there’s plenty of Jad Fair and D Boon too, and the mid-tempo sneer of “Tokyo Paris L.A. Milan” could be a somewhat less spiteful Ron House project. Pick your favorite punk not-quite-singer and you’ll likely hear a hint. It’s not derivative, it’s just a good lineage from which to deliver one-liners like “if I have to drool, it might as well be on cashmere” and “I wanna trade sex for information!” But if wide-eyed tirades are central to the band’s identity then so, too, are experiments with spoken word. Uranium Club has a history of using prose performance to weave narrative into an album — the aforementioned “Interview…” and “Michael’s Soliloquy” from The Cosmo Cleaners, or “Intro” from All Of Them Naturals. While the latter has no musical backing, the Cleaners pair hew (with the exception of piano on “Interview…”) to the band’s usual oeuvre. And this is where Infants Under the Bulb goes from tugging the band’s music towards new realms to really yanking.
In four parts across three tracks, we’re told the story of “The Wall.” It’s fairly straightforward, a departure from denser precedents like “Interview..”. The parable concerns two women living apart in an unnamed, blandly pleasant place. Suddenly, a wall appears, and dictates its importance to each woman. The benefit is safety and its sinister shadow, security. This is welcomed by all, despite the uncanny sense that no one felt unsafe or insecure prior to the wall’s suggestion. To quote track seven, “2-600-LULLABY”: “Connect the dots, y’all.” One day, the wall disappears. The women are dismayed but meet each other in the wall’s absence. In the end, they rebuild the wall together. Performed by organist Molly Raben, the graceful, meditative instrumental demonstrates Uranium Club’s very punk commitment to not only follow creative vision where it leads but to find collaborative catharsis in the face of a changing, often sinister world. So come for the unhinged bangers, the double-time drums and heart-racing bass, the slashing guitars and stabbing horns; Infants Under the Bulb has all that. But stay for the solidarity and the calm between the storms.

I'm actually glad that Dinotrux got a proper ending and imo went out with a bang. those last seasons were peak.
Other shows aren't so lucky and get canceled before they could get the chance. Also shows that just go on for too long will get eventually worse and worse because they run out of ideas and just recycle stuff they already done or just get really desperate and just take any lazy idea.
Actually, they already did 3 episodes in supercharged that where clear movie references (that I reconiced at least).
Dinotrux SC S1 E3 Diamond Bit Indiana Jones
because exploring acient ruins filled with death traps to get some rare and valuable item (also "you have chosen wisely" is a straight up quote from the last crusade.)
Dinotrux SC S2 E2 Doom Run Mad Max (probably the original? I didn't watch either) (also my personal fav)
extreme, dangerous (car) races in the deserts against insane weirdos.
Dinotrux SC S2 E3 Goldtrux (yes, two movie references in a row) James Bond: Golden Eye
because we got a villain who is obsessed with gold to the point he will torn himself into gold and we got a laser beam
which might mean they already got a bit desperate? but honestly those movie reference episodes were really well implemented into the Dinotrux world and I really enjoyed all of them. They didn't feel lazy at all.
So I think they did the right thing.
also, idk about puss n' boots. do you mean the movie or the show? Because it's no hot take saying the show was bad. it actually does pretty poorly and I watched a few episodes myself and couldn't keep going because it made me just cringe tbh. also it looks so bad. xD
A new one, this is kinda sad tho, that show is AMAZING. Better than puss n' boots. yeah, I'm sorry but no other show is better than Dinotrux.

BNHA X CARS
So, this is basically BNHA Street racer AU. But to be more precise I’m picking the cars for the characters from BNHA. Because cars have characteristic, it has personality and it describes you as a person. Not just based from the body but the engines and the car as whole. So, this is my pick of cars for the character of BNHA. If you have different opinion let me know, I would love to hear all of your thoughts and if you use my list you can go ahead and use it (But please do tell me, because hearing it will be my vindication and that would make me really happy).
Part 1 For the boys
I’m going to divide it into 2 cars. One is for daily drive/Sports car and the other is The Supercar. The Sports car will describe them as characters individuals. While the Supercar will describe their full potentials.
Midoriya Izuku:
Midoriya Izuku, The protagonist of the Anime. He is too good of a boy to mess around street Racing. The Color for his car is obviously Green, in that case I Recommend Him.
Sport car/ Daily Drive:
The Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.
To be more specific. It is Brian’s First car In the Fast and the furious franchise (R.I.P Paul Walker). This car is one of the Tuners favorite car to modify. It is run by 4G63 Engine, it is the same Engine that run an EVO F*CKING LANCER which is one of the finest cars that has been made on earth (Minus the Turbo). So it plays well with the whole inheritance thing with All Might.
Supercar:
For the supercar, I would Recommend McLaren 675LT
This car Look Great In green. The whole characteristic of this car reminds me of Midoriya. This car shown how it can blend to the society, how it was able to move fast and aggressively while at the same time maintaining Elegance. This car looked slim, but its performance is something else 3.8 L V8 Twin Turbo Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) Gives the ability for the driver to drive like a maniac. The car produces more or less 675 Horsepower (Just like its name) and can go to 0-100 Km in 2.9 Seconds and a top speed with 330 Km/h (205 Mph).
Bakugo Katsuki:
For Bakugo, His car has to be loud and Fast! He needs a car that’s intimidating. For the color I’m Thinking Red, Yellow or Black. But since the car need to look Antagonizing, I’m going with black. So, the car that I propose.
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Dodge Challenger SRT Hell Cat 2015
This car is a 6.2L Hemi V8 Supercharged. The roars in this car is nothing short. This car is for sure is Intimidating. The roar of the engine is equivalent to Bakugo’s Roar of explosive anger. I was considering the newer one like the SRT Redeye Hellcat or even The Demon. But the demons is more of the inner demon screaming trying to get out. It needed a Rumbling sound of the V8, The insane roar that is deafening.
Supercar:
For the Supercar, it is very difficult. I can choose Hyper cars but they just felt a bit too well mannered compared to Bakugo. But I’ve given a lot of thought and the only car that fits is This
Pagani Zonda R
This car is basically an f1 with a two-seater and a roof. This bad boy is a track only car. So, it is “Street Illegal!!” But that won’t stop Bakugo for using this beauty. This car on high rev speaks will be all the explanation needed on the reason why I chose this car. A car with 700 BHP and only weight 1,070 Kg (In comparison Ford focus weight 1,471 Kg) Which is like a feather.
Todoroki Shoto:
For Todoroki His car has to be cool, matured and Luxurious but also High performance. I’m a bit mixed up with the colors Whether I should make it blue or white or red. But since I cant decide I leave it in the ‘Grey’ area. Get it? Ill just get on with it.
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Aston Martin DB11
Aston Martin is well known on it’s Luxury and History. Which fits Todoroki’s Prince aura/Characteristics. The performance is also nothing short, Aston Martin is also well known to make a brilliant Engine for racing. A twin turbocharged V12 Produce 600 BHP with a top speed 201Km/h (125Mph).
Supercar
For the Super car, I think Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
It is a naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 Engine AWD. This car has a fierce fiery engine on its car but still has that cool matured Body. And the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) Is brilliant. It is an active Aerodynamic system that allows the car to go faster.
Tenya Iida:
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Is the Brabus 800 GT 63s
This car is perfect fot Iida, It has a look in which my friend quote “Sophisticated Look”. And Mind you this car is probably The Fastest Car! For the sport/daily drive Car compare than anyone else in the list. This car packs a crazy 800 BHP and that’s says it all
Supercar:
Bugatti Veyron SS
The fastest Car In the world! In 2010. The specific look that I would like to go is Drift From Transformer: Age Of Extinction. That Blue Lining is perfect for Iida. For some people engines might be boring, But this car have the power of 1200 Horses in it
Kirishima Eijiro
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
The car that this Manly man need to go with is the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500.
The Engine has a named called the “Predator” V8 Engine. 750 BHP is nothing short and the roar from within is on par with Bakugo’s SRT Hellcat.
Supercar:
I was having second thought of choosing this car. But whenever I think of Kirishima in a car, This car always pops into my head
Lamborghini Adventador SV. This car Looked manly and menacing. Why I thought about this car, is that it associated it self with a bull in which Kirishima and this car can relate to. A loud V12 Engine roars loud and deep in a intimidating voice and its perfect.
Okay that’s all I can give for this part. Because of limitation I cant post it all. But there will be more to come not just for the students but many more.

Queen live at Hyde Park in London, UK - September 18, 1976 (Part-1)
An interesting bit about the Hyde Park gig (thanks to Jane Palm-Gold): "The white boiler suit Fred wore coming onstage was especially chosen by him so that he could be seen from miles away (because white stands out at a distance) and even better (and this is great but you have to know this place really - a London landmark for many years) it was acquired at Lawrence Corner at Euston (!), a tatty second hand clothes /hire place where a lot of clothes /outfits were hired from for band promo shoots - for instance they had a lot of military stuff there."
(x)
After the success of A Night At The Opera (and not to mention how the weekly Sounds readers' poll elected the band #1 in the best album, best single, and best band categories), Queen wanted to pay the British fans back for back their loyalty and support over the last few years. Whilst in Japan earlier in the year, they came up with the idea to stage a massive free concert. With the help of record industry entrepreneur Richard Branson (creator of Virgin Records/megastores) they started making plans for the Hyde Park show, which turned into a mini tour along with the Edinburgh and Cardiff shows. It is estimated that between 150-200 thousand people turned up at Hyde Park, which is still a record for the venue to this day. This show cemented their position in the top bracket of rock bands. The stage used was the same stage that was constructed for the Rolling Stones concert at the Knebworth Fair a few weeks earlier.
Queen's first huge show at home brought certain areas of London to a grinding halt, and space on public transportation was at a premium. The concert took place on the anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death. A banner hung from a tree that read "Hendrix Lives," and at one point in the show Brian May noticed it with much appreciation. The band are seen in the photos above arriving at the venue, where they were joined backstage by Pink Floyd's Roger Waters. Supercharge, Steve Hillage, Rufus, and Kiki Dee (along with a cardboard cut-out of Elton John, who couldn't make it to join her for Don't Go Breaking My Heart) played before Queen (Be-Bop Deluxe and John Miles were supposed to be on the bill as well, but were axed for some reason). A pro-shot video of Steve Hillage's performance exists as well as Queen's. There was a fight in the audience during Hillage's set, during which he played extended trippy versions of It's All Too Much by The Beatles and Hurdy Gurdy Man by Donovan. Also notable is Supercharge's singer Albie Donnelly parodying Freddie Mercury in a white leotard and a half mic stand. The first half of the A Day At The Races overture is aired publicly for the first time (the upcoming album had been partially recorded by this point). The usual Bohemian Rhapsody opening sequence then commences for the last time. The band make their entrance, and everybody near the stage stands up (the audience had been seated on the grass for the opening acts). This angers many fans who are further back (roughly 90% of the audience now cannot see the stage), so they start lobbing cans, bottles, or whatever else that can be thrown. After a few songs, Freddie asks everyone simply to calm down: "I have been requested by the constabulary for you not to throw little things around, tin cans or whatever. So make this a peaceful event, ok? Sit on your arses and listen." Brian, after his solo spot in Brighton Rock (he stutters a bit, revealing that he's still nervous): “From one piece of nonsense to another, I’ve said it before. This is something we wanted to do with the London Philharmonic but they didn’t show up, so we will do the ethnic version of a song called '39." He is seen in a dazzling new outfit tonight, which he'd wear every night through Japan 1979. It would become the outfit he'd change into during the opera section of Bohemian Rhapsody. "Clap along and stuff," he urges the audience, as he plays the intro of what he'd later describe as the first song about Einstein's general theory of relativity. After '39, Freddie audaciously performs the as-of-yet unreleased You Take My Breath Away alone on the piano, even hitting many of the falsetto notes that he'd excise in 1977 versions. He then gets cheeky and introduces The Prophet's Song as "a little shorter number from our album A Night At The Opera." Perhaps he still had You Take My Breath Away in his head, as he begins the a cappella section with what would become the first line of the A Day At The Races ballad instead of the usual "oh, people can you hear me?" bit. He also references Death On Two Legs, as he had done a few times earlier in the year. After Stone Cold Crazy, the band play Keep Yourself Alive and Liar, having dropped Doing All Right and Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon from the set. The combination of these three heavy numbers would prove to be very effective, and they would stick with it for their following North American tour. Liar is a great version, with many great Mercuryisms throughout. Before the last song, Brian coyly says, "This is In The Lap Of The Gods, or something like that." The band play a similar set to the ones they did in Edinburgh and Cardiff, except they drop Doing All Right, Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon and Tie Your Mother Down. They intended to perform their usual encore of Big Spender and Jailhouse Rock, but the show had run a half hour past its scheduled ending time (a curfew strictly enforced by the authorities). The police threatened to arrest the band if they went back on stage, and Freddie was later quoted saying how he would prefer not to be stuck in a jail cell in his leotard. And so, Bob Harris was left with the unenviable task of announcing to the crowd that the show was over. He later recalled how difficult and nerve-wracking it was to tell an audience of this size who had waited for about ten hours that there would be no encore. Now I'm Here was the first encore every night around this time, making this the one time between 1974 and 1986 where the song is not performed. The liner notes of Live Killers suggest that Now I'm Here was dropped from the set for a while, but that is patently untrue. People in one section of the audience chanted "Why are we waiting," all in good fun, knowing full well the show was over. The police soon turned off the main power feed to the park, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to make their way out in sheer darkness. Their reasoning was that it was the only way to "control" such a large number of people who had been rowdy throughout the day. In a 1977 interview with Capital Radio, Brian recalls the day: "It had a great sunny day for it, and everyone had a good time. There were still altercations on the day, and there was a big thing with the powers that be because they wouldn't let us go on and do the encore, about which we were very upset, having worked up for months and prepared for all that. They got very frightened because there were 150,000 people in Hyde Park in the dark, and they thought they were going to get out of hand. But in fact, there was no possible danger happening at all. Everyone was peaceful and having a good time."
This show is what epitomized their popularity in Britain, and when they felt they "had really made it," as Brian would later recall. On another occasion he said, "I think that Hyde Park was one of the most significant gigs in our career. There was a great affection because we'd kind of made it in a lot of countries by that time, but England was still, you know, we weren't really sure if we were really acceptable here. So it was a wonderful feeling to come back and see that crowd and get that response." Despite the fact that the audience had been there all day watching the various opening acts and waiting, the band delayed the show as long as possible just so it could get dark enough for their lighting and various other effects to make their full impact (as demanded by Freddie). Throughout the show, the band's nervousness and excitement for the occasion are evident. Most of the audience couldn't see a thing during Queen's set, since the stage was barely elevated. "The smell of the dry ice and the sound are the only sensory memories I have of this show," recalls Jane Palm-Gold. Here is an article from the day of the show,
and a review from a week later (both were submitted by Boris Arkhangelsky).
Tonight would be the final performances of Flick Of The Wrist, Son And Daughter, and the (almost) full The Prophet's Song. A snippet of The March Of The Black Queen would be performed only once more in 1978, but a different part of the song.
Here is a Virgin Records flyer.
The second pic is the famous overhead shot that appeared in the October 9, 1976 Melody Maker. Pic 5 was submitted by Janneman, and pics 6 and 7 were submitted by Lukáš Bosík.
Fan Stories
“Well, I was 13 years old and had got into Queen through Night At The Opera and THAT video. I'd never been to a gig before and it took a lot of convincing of a sceptical mother to let me go to Hyde Park on my own. After answering the inevitable "no, I won't talk to strange men mum" questions I was allowed to go. The morning came and I was up at 6am, got my packed lunch together (can you imagine going off to a gig now with your sandwiches and orange juice!) and headed off to Hyde Park. I remember getting there so early that I was right by the crash barriers at the front and determined to try and hold my spot all day. As the day progeressed however I ended upmoving backwards slowly as people pushed in. I can remember savouring the whole build up, the support bands, everything. As dusk started to fall, the stage went dark and the dry ice started up. I broke my mums don't talk to strangers bit and a very nice bloke put me up on his shoulders so I could see them come on. I just remember the crash of light and sound as they came on as if it was yesterday (and not 27 years ago!). The rest of the gig was amazing and that was it, I was hooked on Queen and rock music. I saw Queen on every tour they ever did in England (and a few in Europe) after that but nothing compares to that first gig for me.”

Read Me In The Hallway Pick #6
by Taylor Jenkins Reid, submitted by @likemusiceveryline
What is it about?
Daisy Jones & The Six follows a rock band in the 1970s from their rise in the LA music scene to becoming one of the most legendary bands in the world and explores the reason behind their split at the height of their success. Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock ’n’ roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend. The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the seventies.
Why would we recommend it to Harry?
“The book is basically an oral history (all written in interview format) of this fictionalised band from the 60's/70's and it features all of the members of the band, their producers, family, etc all telling their version of the story of the band's rise and fall, including the making and recording of their big album. Besides the obvious of it being about a Fleetwood-esque band from the 70's, I feel like Harry would really connect with this book because of how it's structured around the music from the album they are recording. This isn't a real band, but you are reading this book and you so desperately wish it was. You wish you could hear the songs that are being described and could be fully immersed in Daisy and Bill's voices. And to make it even more amazing, the author actually wrote all of the songs mentioned and all of the full lyrics are listed in the back of the book. Some might be turned off by the format of this book, but it's actually one of the reasons I loved it so much. The author did such an amazing job at giving all of these characters their own voices that come out so well in how they speak and what they do and say, and you are never lacking in descriptions of settings or the time. And because you get so many voices, you really understand how everyone was feeling in each situation and moment. Plus, this book is SO FEMINIST! All of the female characters are so strong and powerful within themselves, and despite all being so different, they all have great/interesting relationships with each other that is definitely very progressive for the era being described. Judging by the books we know that Harry has already read, he seems to love books that are heavily influenced by music and musical themes, so I thought this would be right up his alley!” - @likemusiceveryline
We at RMITH agree with everything that was said! Daisy Jones & The Six seems to cater to so many of Harry’s interests that it’s hard to imagine him not liking the book!
Our favourite quotes:
"I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else’s muse. I am not a muse. I am the somebody.” - Daisy
"Music can dig, you know? It can take a shovel to your chest and just start digging until it hits something.” - Eddie
"She had written something that felt like I could have written it, except that I knew I couldn’t have. I wouldn’t have come up with something like that. Which is what we all want from art, isn’t it? When someone pins down something that feels like it lives inside us? Take a piece of your heart out and shows it to you?” - Billy
"I wish someone had told me that love isn’t torture. Because I thought love was this thing that was supposed to tear you in two and leave you heartbroken and make your heart race in the worst way. I thought love was bombs and tears and blood. I did not know that it was supposed to make you lighter, not heavier. I didn’t know it was supposed to take only the kind of work that makes you softer.” - Daisy
"But loving somebody isn’t perfection and good times and laughing and making love. Love is forgiveness and patience and faith and every once in a while, it’s a gut punch. That’s why it’s a dangerous thing, when you go loving the wrong person. When you love somebody who doesn’t deserve it. You have to be with someone that deserves your faith and you have to be deserving of someone else’s. It’s sacred.” - Billy
Discussion time!
What do you think of this pick? Have you read Daisy Jones & The Six? If so, what are some of the stand out moments/quotes from the book that you loved? What would you like to see on the bookshelf next? We’d love to hear all of your thoughts!
#thank you so much @likemusiceveryline for you thoughtful submission we enjoyed reading it!#this'll hopefully provide some fun in these weird times!#daisy jones and the six#taylor jenkins reid#harry styles

NEW Ultima RS 🇬🇧 ______________________________________ 🌙 [6/8/19] #ACNAfterDark Sounds familiar? Well the Ultima GTR was one well known track monster but now the British firm has revealed the new insane Ultima RS! Ultima has made sure this new supercar is their most capable track shredder yet with incredible new aero upfront with a chassis mounted splitter, a massive carbon wing, underbody vortex veins, NACA ducts, an aggressive rear diffuser and dive planes. 🌙 @Allcarnews Spec Sheet: Powering the Ultima RS are all GM sourced V8 power plants with the top spec vision being a supercharged LT5 6.2L V8 from the ZR1 making a monster 1,200HP. The LT5 can also be had with 800HP and a LT4 with 650HP from the Z06, ZL1 and CTSV is also on offer. All these engines are paired EXCLUSIVELY to a 6 speed manual….0-60 in 2.2sec in the top spec with 1/4mile times in just 9sec. 🌙 It is riding on slick lightweight 19in wheels with AP Racing brakes that can stop the car from 100-0MPH in just 3.3sec. Oh did I mention that this thing is road legal!? Because of that Ultima has sort of tried to make it look road legal with LED headlights, Koenigsegg-esq rear LED taillights, and thankfully there is air-condition! But keep in mind, this thing is a stripped down track monster with a raw interior, removable large body panels and no airbags. Because of that last bit, it will be sold worldwide but where it will be street legal will be selective. ________________________________________ ACN EXTRA: This is a real quote on Ultima’s website: "No, the Ultima RS is a real driver’s car and therefore is only available with a six speed manual shift gearbox and a clutch pedal." ________________________________________ - - #Jaguar #Project8 An #allcarnews post #V8 #UK #XE #SVO #SVR #Jag #JLR #Touring #AMG ||#powerful #performance #turbocharged #advanced #SupercarsRevamped #Supercar #HyperCar #ItsWhiteNoise #MadWhips #manual #Carstagram #BlackList #AmazingCars247 https://www.instagram.com/p/BybzUKUBZ9I/?igshid=1cv4brkl3zmpx

Racial Backlash at Penn
LOS ANGELES (OnlineColumnist.com), April 15, 2022.--University of Pennsylvania law professor Amy Wax finds herself in racial quicksand, trying to explain resentment she thinks Asian and Black students have about “Western peoples’ outsized achievements,” preaching the choir on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson” show. “They climb the ladder, they get the best education, we give them every opportunity, and they turn around and lead the charge on ‘we’re racists, we’re an awful country,’ On some level, their country is a s---hole,” Wax told Carlson. Wax’s comments are to the “woke” crowd the epitome of “racism,” because they shed light on today’s reverse discrimination, where white people are viewed as “racist” by certain minorities, all because they are not black or part of a racial minority group. Wax was quoted in the past saying in the U.S. would be “better off with fewer Asians,” largely referring to people of south Asian descent. Today’s supercharged racial atmosphere stemming from the May 25, 2020 George Floyd police murder, spawned a number of anti-racist books, becoming a news category of non-fiction called “anti-racist” literature. Started by 65-year-old Robin DiAngelo with her 2018 book “White Fragility,” the anti-racist category has been dominated by 39-year-old Boston University Professor Ibram X. Kendi [formerly Henry Rogers] author of the 2019 book, “How to Become an Anti-Racist,” promoting Critical Race Theory, the idea that the United States is a systemically racist country. Kendi subscribes to Nicole Hannah-Jones 2021 “1619 Project,” talking about systemic racism in the context of America’s original sin of slavery. Hannah-Jones, now a journalism professor in Race at Howard Uniiversity, created the historical rationale to today’s anti-racist literature. Wax has been condemned by her colleagues at Penn, prompting disciplinary action that might result in her dismissal. Part-time Penn lecturer, Neil Makhija, executive director of Indian American Impact, a South Asian rights organization, questioned Wax’s ability to educate or grade South Asians or blacks fairly. “The most unfortunate thing is that we have a lot of brilliant and incredible students at the law school,” Makhija said. “It makes you question whether she can fairly grade or education,” casting aspersions on Wax’s civil rights. Holding beliefs opposing the “1619 Project,” “Critical Race Theory” or “Anti-Racist literature” doesn’t mean that Wax is prejudiced, bigoted or in anyway racist. Today’s hyper-charged racial atmosphere gives “anti-racist” zealots the ability to go after reputable professors or employees only the basis of rumor, gossip and innuendo, expressly prohibited in the U.S. legal system. Talking to Fox News Tucker Carlson becomes the latest reverse-discrimination, refusing to acknowledge alternative points-of-view, especially when it comes to race. When it come to Blacks, things are so seismographically sensitive today you can’t refer to descents of Sub-Saharan African as “Blacks” or “African Americans,” only “dark-skinned people,” something also certain to be banned. When you look at Wax’s statements to Carlson, there’s nothing racist about them, only reflecting current socio-political trends that see political militancy from any racial minority group that are not considered part of the White majority. If Trump’s presidency taught anything, it’s that it’s easy for the media to stereotype all Whites as racists, no matter what their treatment of South Asians or dark-skinned people. Trump, Carlson and Wax are all victims of the new “woke” anti-racist elites. When you consider what the media did in the 2020 presidential campaign to Trump, it’s clear that racial demonization goes on as a political weapon. Whatever the institution, racial demonization goes on now more than ever, violating the civil rights of anyone charged, like Professor Wax. “These comments are the only reasons anyone knows who Was is today,” Makhija said. “She found a platform on Tucker Carlson, but very few other would grant her any credibility. . .She’s simply trying to add a veneer of intellectualism to blatant racism,” Makhija said. Makhija doesn’t say that Carlson’s show is a forum for libertarians, tired to the fake racial attacks from the left, every time they wish to demonize anyone that doesn’t agree with them. Makhija becomes the racist for calling Carlson’s show a forum for “racism,” when, in fact, it’s a place for honest debate about controversial topics. Whatever demonization happened to Trump by the fake news, Carlson has a right to defend himself and his guests from similar kinds of unfounded attacks. Asking why newcomers to American are disgruntled is not racist. “I feel like asking these people, why did you leave your country? Why are you here?” Wax’s questions are not racist they’re legitimate questions for different groups finding living in “racist” American difficult to cope. “You don’t show up in someone else’s country and start attacking them,” Carlson said, agreeing with Wax, there are too many groups that resent living in America. Makhija has no empathy for White Americans currently under siege, attacked by various civil rights groups for racism, only because they’re white. Whether Penn Law School gets rid of Wax is anyone’s guess. What’s known for sure is that whites in today’s America are all branded racists. About the Author John M. What your family needs to know about IV vitamins
Grammy Award champion states she gets some of her glimmer from a mixture of vitamins delivered with an IV. Intravenous vitamins are a fairly new spin in America's relationship with dietary supplements, however are they any kind of different from those that may be found in a container?
Possibly not, some wellness professionals are stating, and also others claim we don't need supplements whatsoever. Yet that's not quiting and various other celebs from submitting to the needle, turning IV vitamins into the latest wellness fad by their glittering instance.
The appeal of IV vitamins is that of various other supplements: the promise of charm, wellness and also zest, provided swifter than food, absorbed more totally than a pill.
In recent times, however, the Food and Drug Administration has actually cautioned that a vitamin C service provided by IV is not a state-of-the-art vitamin, yet an unauthorized drug that may be hazardous. And also it's certainly except kids. Right here's what you and also your household need to learn about the fad.
A drip of wellness?
Celebs claims she obtains a few of her shimmer from a mixture of vitamins provided via an IV.|Matt Sayles, Invision
The Hollywood Press reporter claims that the British vocalist that brushed up the Grammy Honors in February, goes to a wellness medspa in Los Angeles that charges $220 for an IV energy mixture called "Limitless." The health facility-- Drip Doctors-- as well as others that use vitamin infusions state that 95 percent of liquid vitamins infused into a blood vessel are absorbed right into the body, contrasted to 20 percent of vitamins taken by mouth.
There's something to this reasoning, but also for increased absorption, you don't have to use an IV. Taking vitamins or nutraceutical in liquid type makes them available to the body quicker than taking a tablet, which has to be broken down by the body.
A person who obtains vitamins by IV, however, dangers issues ranging from wooziness, nausea or vomiting or fatality if the application is wrong, The Hollywood Reporter wrote, which is why it is very important that the drip be carried out by a doctor. Also in medical facilities, one in five people hooked to an IV suffered difficulties or passed away due to "inappropriate administration," a 2013 British research study wrapped up.
Dr. Svetlana Kogan, a New York doctor, told Romeyn that she advises intravenous vitamins just for people that have a continuous clinical issue such as fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia, or if they are often sick or need to enhance their health system prior to taking a trip.
Two anesthesiologists are part of the team at The Vitamin Bar, an intravenous vitamin spa with offices in Salt Lake City and also Park City. Its site guarantees 100 percent absorption and also says vitamin therapy will leave you with an "total feeling of wellness as well as wellness."
The business advises that clients have two to 4 "drips" every month, and uses formulas for headaches, jet lag as well as altitude sickness, as well as pregnancy, skin hydration, memory and also hair as well as nail health and wellness. Customers need to be 18 or older.
Apart from being much more expensive, are intravenous vitamins any various from those that are available in a container?
At the end of a drip, the majority of our customers claim they feel invigorated, full of life, and ready to tackle the rest of their day, The Vitamin Bar internet site claims.
Treatments that set you back $139 consist of "The Hippocrates," for individuals recovering from "a paper cut or major surgical procedure," as well as "The Centennial," for individuals who wish to live previous 100.
Getting life-boosting liquids from IV lines, despite the current craze, is nothing new. As early as the 1600s, doctors recognized that medicine could be injected right into the blood vessel, as well as an Oxford researcher of that time period produced an intravenous gadget making use of a pig bladder as well as a quill, as well as he exercised on a pet that was offered opium, according to a short article in the British Journal of Anaesthesia.
Today, the IV is one of the most typical treatment carried out in emergency clinic, with one-quarter of clients receiving IV fluids, according to the CDC. And commercial IV clinics for hydration have actually been around for a number of years; one opened in Chicago in 2012, and it was soon complied with by at-home IV hydration as well as mobile IV hydration offered to runners at roadway races. Jogger's Globe publication checked out the service, and while the post quoted runners who claimed they felt "amazing" after obtaining fluid intravenously, the writer mentioned studies that claimed the difference between obtaining an IV and consuming alcohol fluid was "negligible.".
The business pointed out in the Runner's World write-up, Obligation IV Hydration, is based in Denver, and it attributes the late Dr. John Myers, a Baltimore medical professional, with designing a nourishing IV cocktail of magnesium, calcium and also B and also C vitamins 30 years ago. Its therapies range from $65 for basic saline hydration to $145 for Myers' initial mixture, said to "supercharge the system and also boost overall wellness.".
The treatment may be provided to your home or office by a nurse with a duffel bag, or, at bigger events, in a Mercedes Sprinter van, as well as the treatment takes 30-45 mins, with results felt within a hr. A doctor is not usually existing, yet is available by phone for inquiries, the firm's website states.
In search of evidence.
Movie critics of dietary IVs are not just people that raise questions about the risks of the treatments, however those who doubt vitamins as well as various other supplements are useful at all. In a short article in STAT, Megan Thielking skeptically examined the Manhattan IV center run by Dr. Erika Schwartz and also said there isn't any type of "durable proof" that reveals infusions have any kind of result past that of a placebo.
Thielking estimated Dr. Pete Miller, a clinician as well as nutrition scientist at Johns Hopkins, who stated, "Supplements do not deal with anything and they do not avoid anything. It's easy.".
The American Academy of Pediatrics says healthy and balanced children who consume a "regular, well-balanced diet" do not require vitamin supplements which megadoses may be harmful.
Vitamin D tablets are displayed on Nov. 9, 2016, in New york city.|Mark Lennihan, Associated Press.
There are exemptions: For instance, a lot of newborns receive a vitamin K shot, as well as pdoctors commonly recommend that nursed children be given vitamin D.
If children are picky eaters, medical professionals typically advise a multivitamin, and particular health and wellness problems may require supplements-- as an example, a new study from the University of Massachusetts Medical Institution suggests vitamin D supplements for youngsters with short-tempered bowel disorder.
For grownups, the advice is similar. In its nutritional standards, the U.S. Department of Farming prompts individuals to obtain their vitamins with food as well as beverages, yet the Fda says that people may need them if they have illness, consume a vegan or vegan diet plan, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Most medical spas, however, market IV vitamins not to sick individuals, however to individuals seeking severe health.
Schwartz, the writer of "Don't Let Your Medical Professional Eliminate You," bargains with celebrities as well as jet-setters that pay from $325 to $875 for a treatment at her clinic, Developed Scientific research. Outcomes, the site states, consist of increased energy, enhanced state of mind, decreased jet lag and improved athletic performance.
An additional center, this one in Los Angeles, supplied an unique mixture for Valentine's Day, touting its aphrodisiac results.
For people who don't such as shots as well as needles, or sitting around for a half-hour or more to take their vitamins, there are always gummies, capsules or tablets. As well as an Arizona business has actually created vitamins you spray in your mouth.
Or, you could just consume points. As the popular food author Michael Pollan states, for optimum health and wellness, "Consume food. Not excessive. Mainly plants.".
Water aids, as well.
The article “ What your family needs to know about IV vitamins “ was first published on Deseret News

BNHA X Cars
KaminariSo, this is basically BNHA Street racer AU. But to be more precise I’m picking the cars for the characters from BNHA. Because cars have characteristic, it has personality and it describes you as a person. Not just based from the body but the engines and the car as whole. So, this is my pick of cars for the character of BNHA
Part 1 For the boys
I’m going to divide it into 2 cars. One is for daily drive/Sports car and the other is The Supercar. The Sports car will describe them as characters individuals. While the Supercar will describe their full potentials.
Midoriya Izuku
Bakugo Katsuki
For Bakugo, His car has to be loud and Fast! He needs a car that’s intimidating. For the color I’m Thinking Red, Yellow or Black. But since the car need to look Antagonizing, I’m going with black. So, the car that I propose.
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Dodge Charger SRT Hell Cat 2015
Todoroki Shoto
This car packs a crazy 800 BHP and that’s says it all
Supercar:
Sero Hanta
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
For Sero the car has to be traditional but still a good car nonetheless. So I pick A classic Porsche 911 turbo 1982.
It is a classic sports car, It is tunable which make the car run fast.
Supercar:
Ferrari 458 Italia
This car is a normal Aspirated V8 with a high rev engine. It creates something Revolutionary From something traditional.
Kaminari Denki
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
It has to be the SUPRA!!!!!!
This car is definitely a meme, it fits with Kaminari Personality. Seeing them is like “WTH ARE YOU DOING?!” Because both Kaminari and the car would do something ridiculously stupid.
Supercar:
For the Supercar I Would say The Lexus LFA
Lexus is one of the Artistic Legacy of the JDM Cars. It is one of the legendary Supercar that ever existed. The Normal aspirated V10 Sounded like Pure Thunder striking down on the earth. Sound menacing and amazing. It fits for Kaminari Racing Persona (Or even his villain Persona).
Mashirao Ojiro
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Ojiro is a traditional Japanese person, So his car has to be totally Japanese. My pick have to be The S30 Fairlady Z.
To be exact the RB26 Swapped Fairlady Z from Sung Kang (Han’s Actor car from “Fast and Furious”) And that’s all I need to say about this car.
Supercar:
For the Supercar It has to be the last piece of The JDM Legend. It is The GTR R35 NISMO.
This car is perfect for Ojiro, They both are the Representative Character of Japan.
Tokoyami Fumikage
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Blackbird 370 z
For me it’s a no Brainer. This car was featured as the Replacement of Blackbird in wangan Midnight When they aren’t allowed to use the Porsche. The slick Headlight and the whole body look is the description of Tokoyami Dark Shadow
Supercar:
Mclaren MP4-12C
That Describes Tokoyami as a whole. One of the best car that ever created in history that changes the whole world. With the black fierce look, This car looks like a shark that flies on land.
Sato Rikido
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
Sato is a muscular guy. So His sports car is definitely a Muscle Car. But It seems I have a trouble in finding it, It has to be a classic but not too old. In that reason I recommend Saleen s281 2000
It has that sporty look but still have the Muscle car Essence and history
Supercar:
For the Supercar It has to be The Corvette C8.R
This car is a new take to American cars. It is a Incredible move from the American automotive Industries.
Koda Koji
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
For Koda He is definetly a good Boy so hew probably uses a 4-door car. For instance The Subaru WRX STI 2016.
It doesn't seems Menacing but it still can move around well and when it drives, it definetly drives well.
Supercar:
For the Supercar it is definetly a NSX-R 1992 Tuned with a Rocket Bunny Body Kit.
Koda is definitely a Honda city boi. From the name itself, I am 100% it fits with Koda. Back in the day if you want a Ferrari but you can’t afford one. You’ll buy an NSX.
Shoji Mezo
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
For Shoji I think Ford’s Trophy truck.
A friend of mine said that Shoji, is the kind of guy who would drive a van for daily basis (So I guessed it has to be an American Car). But to me, Shoji is the Kind of guy that likes to get Dirt under his wheels. And I'm pretty sure Shoji is the kind of kid that doesn’t Mind flying in the car on daily basis.
Supercar:
For the Supercar I propose, Ford Gt.
It is well planted and the car is very wide. Fitting to describes Shoji’s ‘Arms’. Although it might not have similarities with his daily car, But this car is all I could think of.
Aoyama Yuga
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
For the Daily Drive, it is obviously something Luxurious, Something High class Like Bentley GT 2019. The V8 Version.
It is a confiscated yet sporty look in a car, It looked like as if he stands out compares to the other Luxury Cars
Supercar:
For the Supercar, It has to be describe as “Noblesse oblige” And the Car that fits the most is Noble M600.
It is a Supercar with all the classic features. It is a RWD Manual Transmission Car, a twin turbocharged 4L V8. Packs 640 BHP 0-60 in 3.1 Second.
Mineta Minoru
Sport Car/ Daily Drive:
It’s the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS
Basically, this car is the Japanese Equivalent To pimp rides. Even though This car is featured in The Fast and The Furious, It is just a now show car. Compared the old one, This version is a slower and much more difficult to Modify. But it is still a nice car and fun to drive with, and it is a popular car in the car culture.
Supercar:
For Mineta The Supercar might be really difficult. So in the end I just came up with the Villain version. (Inspired by ‘Nadaboodraws’ Villain Mineta on Instagram) I came up with this
It is the Audi R8, It is one of the best Affordable Supercar you can get in the world. It is 4wd But it is still an aggressive car with a mean Look.
Okay that’s all I can give for this part. For the next one will be the girls of class 1-A. If you have different opinion let me know, I would love to hear all of your thoughts and if you use my list you can go ahead and use it (But please do tell me, because hearing it will be my vindication and that would make me really happy). Anyway, thank you for reading until this far.

The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Will Pack a Screaming NA V-8 Engine
The frustrating part when writing one of our “What We Know” stories is that the info in it becomes obsolete the moment we know more. Take the upcoming C8 version of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Thanks to a source at GM, we now know a lot more about the racier model.
Are you ready? The next Corvette Z06 will have a naturally aspirated 5.5-liter flat-plane twin-cam V-8 that spins to 9,000 rpm. Again, naturally aspirated and redlines at nine grand. Can we get a hallelujah? If we may, a Lamborghini Huracan Evo‘s 10-cylinder engine spins to 8,500 rpm, while the Lambo Aventador SVJ‘s V-12 only hits 8,700 rpm. The Ferrari 812 Superfast? It says 9,000 rpm on the tach, but everyone knows (wink) that its superlative V-12 is only good until 8,900 revs. No, only the discontinued Porsche 911 GT3/GT3 RS/Speedster’s 4.0-liter chunk of rear-mounted perfection spins all the way up to 9,000 rpm. Well, the upcoming 992 GT3’s engine (probably) will, too. As will the new C8 Z06.
How Much Horsepower?
We’re guessing that this, for now, unnamed engine’s output will come in at right around 625 hp, with well over 400 lb-ft of torque (figure 485 lb-ft). Not quite as much as the old Z06’s supercharged 6.2-liter LT4—650 hp/650 lb-ft of torque—but who cares? To use Porsche as an example for a moment, the 911 Turbo makes more power than the 911 GT3. Yet, every car geek wants the GT3. Back to that power for a moment, over 600 naturally aspirated ponies from only 5.5-liters is impressive. Assuming we’re right about the 625 hp number, that means the Z06 will pack 99 horses more than the world’s next most powerful naturally aspirated V-8: the 526-hp Voodoo V-8 found in the Shelby GT350/GT350R. To put this possible 625 hp in perspective, the sadly deceased Dodge Viper cranked out 645 hp from a massive 8.4-liter V-10 engine. To quote our source, the Z06’s engine is, “going to be a screamer.”
Back to the Shelby GT350’s flat-plane Voodoo V-8 (526 hp, 429 lb-ft of torque, redline at 8,250 rpm) for a moment; its 5.2-liter displacement is going to be the closest to the Z06’s. That’s oversized for a flat-plane engine, and Ford deals with this by placing a large, rubber dampener on the non-transmission side of the crankshaft to eat unwanted vibrations. We’re not sure how Chevy is dealing with the unscrew-the-head bolts third-order vibrations inherent to flat-plane V-8s (vibrations that grow more violent as displacement grows), but the bowtie brand has been racing with (essentially) this same, albeit detuned engine (500 hp, 480 lb-ft of torque) in the C8.R, so some sort of solution must exist. Chevrolet had to buy back an awful lot of heat-soaked C7 Z06s thanks to a class-action lawsuit, which led the company to enact much more stringent testing procedures. We bet the big-displacement vibration issue is a non-issue.
Turbo Time?
What about those two turbochargers we thought we knew about? Well, turns out we were right, just about the wrong car. Like Chevy has done for the past two generations, there will be a high-horsepower ZR1 version of the C8. That car will get two turbochargers piped into its 5.5-liter engine (along with all the accompanying cooling hardware). We think 800 hp seems about right from this variant of the twin-cam engine.
There will also be a gasoline-electric hybrid variant that uses the twin-turbo V-8 and at least one electric motor to produce a total system output of 1,000 hp (or more). Expect it to bear the name Zora, after the father of the Corvette, Zora Arkus-Duntov. One sad bit of news (so we hear) is that there will not be a C8 Grand Sport. Why not? We do not know. We’re just hearing it’s not in the cards—don’t shoot the messenger. However, there will be an all-electric Corvette. Unfortunately, we know next to nothing about that model…for now.

Devon Aoki has single-handedly revamped the pretty paradigm. She is one of the newest faces in the family of Lancôme’s new millennium muses (“I definitely wasn’t the safe choice”), along with Uma Thurman, Mena Suvari and Elizabeth Jagger. Prior to landing that ambassador-of-beauty contract, the New York-born, Malibu-raised model sauntered down countless catwalks (for Balenciaga, Fendi, Givenchy and Thierry Mugler) and starred in numerous advertising campaigns (for Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Moschino, and currently Baby Phat). Born of a German-English-American mother and Japanese father (Rocky Aoki, the Japanese Olympic wrestler and founder of the Miami-based Benihana Japanese steakhouse chain), the freckle-faced 20-year-old will soon work her elegant schoolgirl look on the silver screen. In June, she debuts opposite Paul Walker, Tyrese, Ludacris and Eva Mendes in 2 Fast 2 Furious, the highly anticipated, shot-in-Miami sequel to the 2001 street-racing smash, The Fast and the Furious. And when she’s not capturing international imaginations as the new face of beauty and fashion, this raw talent keeps busy with plans to launch a record company and a fashion line, compares and contrasts the political philosophies of Edward Said and William F. Buckley, quotes Robert Frost and gushes about her greatest fans—especially the one who tattooed her face on his arm.
How did your mother and father meet?
My mother, [jewelry designer] Pamela [Hilburger], moved to New York from Buffalo when she was 18. She was this adventurous, whimsical young lady who wanted to discover the city. She met my dad while she was working as a coat-check girl at Genesis, a nightclub he owned. They dated for a while, fell in love, got married and had three kids together.
Are they still together?
No, they both have been remarried. My mom lives in Los Angeles and designs jewelry. She’s an artist and is really into feng shui. I appreciate how she really knows how to minimize clutter and open up the space.
Do you speak Japanese?
A little, but I never lived with my father until last year and my mother does not exactly speak Japanese! I took French in school.
Tell me about the character you play in 2 Fast 2 Furious.
I play Suki, a racer who drives a Honda 2000 supercharged and is part of a community of street kids who live and breathe for cars.
What car do you drive?
I don’t. Isn’t that terrible? If I did, I’d think about an SUV. But they’re such gas guzzlers, which doesn’t make sense to me right now, as we’re faced with war.
What are your views on the Iraqi conflict?
I’m a peaceful person, and war isn’t the answer. I have a lot of views about politics and am reading books to learn more about the subject.
Which books?
Representations of the Intellectual: The 1993 Reith Lectures, by Edward Said, who has some beautiful ideas. I’m definitely a Democrat and very liberal, but I can appreciate and understand things about Republicans. I’m also reading about the conservative party: Buckley: The Right Word, by William F. Buckley.
Talk to me about a political issue you feel strongly about.
An agreement called the Kyoto Protocol was implemented a few years ago, when many nations met to discuss how to save the world from [greenhouse] gas emissions and other pollutants. Unfortunately, the Republican Party [Bush Administration] has decided to no longer contribute to it in any positive or negative way. Problems with the environment aren’t going to go away; they’re on a downward spiral and are only getting worse. The U.S. is the biggest contributing polluter, and if we do not decide to curb output, the Protocol won’t make as much sense as if we did. Other countries have agreed to be consistent with gas emissions, but we’re no longer participating; it’s disastrous. I imagine a world where animals are not in danger, where people respect the planet. I’m not attacking the president; one man is not the seed of the problem. In fact, both Democrats and Republicans are a part of the same machine, the same economy, the same world.
You seem well-versed in world events for a 20-year-old.
I never really had to think about politics before, but it’s our era. There’s a tendency to forget about it and go on with your life. People don’t always take the time to learn about what’s going on, but I want to know what’s happening. I don’t want to be happy in my ignorance and accept that other people are making all the decisions. At this time in my life, it’s critical to have a better understanding of the politics that rule and regulate the world. I was watching the [Grammy] Awards and remember hearing Bono say something like, ‘You have to read. You have to look. You have to search and formulate your own opinions about the world around you. You can’t just regurgitate and accept.’ He’s right.
How is acting different from modeling?
Acting is a new thing for me; I’ve just started getting into it. While I’m a veteran model, which probably sounds ridiculous, now I’m going [to] castings, meeting people and starting all over again in a new field. Acting is about listening and staying present in the moment—really believing it and trying to maintain the natural process that is life. The more organic it is, the more convincing, because it’s mimicking what truly is. It’s important to be consistent with your own ideas and the collaboration process, because everyone on the set is such a vital part of the whole pie. It’s great to be involved with something so much bigger than myself.
You filmed 2 Fast 2 Furious in Miami. How do you like the city?
I love South Beach, and lived at The Shore Club for three months. What a great hotel! They were so nice to me.
How does Nobu compare with Benihana?
Benihana has been around for 40 years. It’s the best restaurant, and people who don’t think that don’t understand the experience.
Was there a time you didn’t like sushi?
Yeah, when I was younger I wouldn’t touch the stuff. You can’t ask a kid to eat uni [sea urchin]—that would be a little weird. I started with California rolls and grew to have a greater appreciation for sushi from there. It’s funny, I just went to Benihana with Tyrese and Ludacris the other day, and Tyrese ordered a fried chicken roll with ketchup! That sort of thing sounded more normal to me when I was little, but now I’m so used to eating traditional dishes. When he asked for that, I said, ‘Are you serious?’
Was your model-to-actress transition intentional?
I was never one of those people who know what they want to do from day one; I was always confused. I can’t see myself being a model when I’m 50, but I don’t have everything mapped out. There’s no blueprint of how I want things to go. So many different things present themselves to me, and it’s just about making decisions and going with what feels right. It’s like Robert Frost said: ‘Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.’ It’s about going one way and staying confident about your decisions regardless of the outcome. And anyway, who cares about the outcome? It’s all about the experience. You’re here on this planet, so you might as well take everything as it comes—really breathe it all in and make it your own.
Tell me what you’re doing besides the acting and modeling.
My father just got remarried and I felt like it was time to leave the nest. I’m living at the Trump Hotel for the time being, but I’m house-hunting, which is like a wild goose chase. Real estate agents keep showing me these really commercial buildings and high skyscrapers, but I just want something cute. I think I’d like something small—wait, not small. Definitely not small. But it’s hard to say. Do I want a two-bedroom with a marble bathroom? I don’t know. I have to just see it. I’m also working on a clothing line, a film-production company and a record label. But my dad always says to walk 10 steps in one direction as opposed to 10 steps in 10 different directions, so I need to focus.
Are you Daddy’s little girl?
Oh, yeah. That’s a big thing for me. I want to impress my father and follow in his footsteps. He’s so incredible. And I can say the same thing about my mother. She’s a survivor whose character inspires me.
Do guys get nervous meeting your dad?
Well, it’s not like I have a bunch of guys I’m bringing over. My dad does play a part in my life in every way.
You probably meet guys who are much older. What’s your dating age limit?
What is age, anyway? I used to think there was a list of things I’d need in a boyfriend, but the truth is, I just want to be comfortable and trust the person. I don’t care how old or young the person is. Actually, there is a limit on how young. I wouldn’t want to date anyone younger than me; it would be weird if he was still in high school or something. But I’ve seen couples where the guy is 70, the girl is 30 and people are scratching their heads; they don’t get it. But what is there to get? Who cares what other people are doing? Just concern yourself with yourself.
People do seem to care about what you’re doing. Have you seen ‘Devolution,’ a Devon Aoki fan website?
No, I haven’t seen it. But it’s cool.
I heard you were freaked out by a fan who tattooed your face on his arm.
That was a lie! Can I please set the record straight for once in my life? It was the worst thing, ever. After reading that article, I got so upset. A publication had asked me about my ‘craziest fan encounter,’ and I interpreted ‘crazy’ as ‘great crazy,’ or ‘weird but insane in a good and positive way crazy.’ I was so hurt when I read that they had changed my words from ‘craziest’ to ‘worst.’ Not only was it a bad reflection on me, but it would break my heart to think I had hurt anyone’s feelings.
Who got the tattoo?
A guy who went to school with my sister.
You didn’t think it was psycho?
No, not at all! I happen to think that someone inking my face onto his body is the highest form of flattery. I’m honored that people out there are interested in me; I appreciate that. I’m not scared of people who come up to me and ask me for my autograph. I’m not scared of my fans. It shows everything I’ve done is not in vain, and that there are people who see me, recognize me and support me. It’s a beautiful thing.
How would you characterize your style?
I’ve been wearing sneakers a lot. I used to be so into wearing heels and never went for comfort, but Jay-Z has a line of Reebok sneakers and they’re really cool. I also have [Cesare] Paciotti shoes, Adidas and some Puma. I’m really into sneakers these days, whether I’m going to the gym or not. Overall, I like to mix it up. I’m usually the last person to wear one designer top-to-bottom. I’ll wear an outfit that’s made up of vintage pieces, stuff from my mom, and things I’ve been given in the fashion industry.
What’s the best free thing anyone has ever given you?
Probably a couture Chanel coat that I wore on the runway, so it fit me perfectly. It is such a great piece. I get a lot of beautiful things, and try to wear pieces by newer designers, too.
Which up-and-coming designers do you like?
Benjamin Cho and Zac Posen.
What handbag are you carrying right now?
I just carry a little Chanel; it’s the greatest. You can look terrible, but if you’re carrying a nice bag that’s all that matters. It somehow makes everything so much better.
Tell me about your craziest fashion moment.
I wore a gorilla costume during a Thierry Mugler fashion show. Once I reached the middle of the runway, I ripped it off to reveal my hair and this beautiful silk dress. It was like a scene from a movie! This was probably one of the best fashion experiences I ever had on the runway. The designer came up to me and basically told me I could act because of what I did during that show.

The Conclusion and Predicted Winner
Finally, what we’ve all been waiting for: who will take the title as the winner and the best all-around car? For this last post, we will be looking from an article from Autoblog. Auto blog is an American automotive news and car shopping website. Autoblog looks at many factors such as: speed, engine specs, quarter miles, and cost. Unfortunately we do not know the 0-60’s or the quarter-miles of the 2020 GT500 and the 2020 Hellcat, so those aspects will not count against them. In this quote, Counts says, “As its displacement might suggest, the GT500’s engine shares more than a little with the naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V8 in the Shelby GT350. The GT350 makes 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to a 2.65-liter supercharger making 12 psi of boost, the GT500 makes 760 horsepower at 7,300 rpm and 625 pound-feet of torque from 3,000 rpm to redline. That’s more power than a Chevy Camaro ZL1, Chevy Corvette ZR1, Dodge Challenger Hellcat (but not the Demon or Redeye), Porsche 911 GT2 RS and just about every other car on the road.” (Counts). Based on these engine specs alone, Counts makes a claim that the 2020 GT500 is in fact more powerful than the Hellcat. The GT500 truly takes the cake with its new supercharged 5.2L V8 with 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft torque, beating all the others in its class including the Dodge Hellcat. Having this information can help us come to a clearer conclusion. Counts also says, “All that power, along with a quick-shifting DCT, 16.5-inch front rotors and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, helps send the GT500 from zero to 100 mph and back to zero in 10.6 seconds. Ford won’t tell us the zero to 60 mph time, but expect something well under 4 seconds. The transmission was developed by Tremec and marks the first time a dual-clutch has been offered in a Mustang or Shelby car. Current Mustangs are available with either a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic, the latter equipped in our old long-term 2018 Ford Mustang GT. Shifts with the dual clutch can happen in just 130 milliseconds”(Counts). According to these impressive transmission specs, the new GT500 will have an even more powerful engine then the Dodge Hellcat and the new transmission will allow this car to shift in only just 130 milliseconds. The only question that cannot be answered at this time is what will the 0-60 will be. Reflecting upon the information given, we can conclude the GT500 is not only more for your money but it also boasts a larger more powerful engine then the Dodge Hellcat. From the hypothesized 0-60’s the 2020 GT500 is also assumed to be faster than the 2020 Hellcat. This has not been confirmed to date, however. In 2014 when the GT500 had less horsepower than the 2014 Hellcat, the GT500 still won when set against each other in races. After all of the comparisons, the GT500 seems to be a clear winner and is very promising, but time will only tell if it does end up being better than the Hellcat.
(2020 GT500 next to 2020 Hellcat)
