I ate and forgot I was drawing requests so I slept the whole day. ;-;

So here's them dressed up as Charming and Cinderella because I can't think of a design for the prompt. 😶‍🌫️

If you want to stop feeling sad, sometimes that means you need to stop listening to that sad music that you told yourself was "validating my emotions" and "self-reflecting" and "helping me process things". Nothing's being processed, my girl, you're just sticking more unnecessary detergent in the emotional laundry machine and watching the soapy water spin.

Immortal characters like vampires and gods and whatever are always depicted as being apathetic to downright delusional as a byproduct of their immortality.

Being godlike and powerful makes them jaded and unempathetic (Greek gods in media) and the restless search for connection and validation makes them delightfully delusional and manipulative (many of the vampires in Interview)

But then you move into the robotic vein of immortality and you find a completely different kind of emotional composition entirely.

I was chatting with @rxmain-lettuce and essentially listing off every popular robot in media these days from Wheatley and Glados to AM and Auto.

When you have a character achieve immortality it so often comes with the consequence of depression and loneliness. The immortal’s loved ones pass on and they watch decades pass them by. It results in a character inherently out of touch with reality.

Even well meaning immortals in media like Heimerdinger (Arcane) are slightly deluded in an outdated or lofty way of thinking.

And then you have immortal robots who are anything but apathetic and jaded.

Robots like Glados and AM who completely sidestep apathy by being so hatefully vengeful

It’s almost what keeps them alive.

But then you get into robots like Auto or Five Pebbles who aren’t directly hateful but are antagonistic simply because their intended purpose no longer aligns with that of the human protagonists.

It’s also important for me to mention that I’m largely talking about antagonistic robots. There are plenty of friendly robots in media, however I feel that the characterization of an evil robot is something set into our very history with technology.

I mean the whole idea of “robots are going to kill all of humanity” could’ve started as early as 1900 when the poster, “An Unrestrained Demon” was prevalent.

We’ve always feared technological advances and personally I think we should go back to thinking about how robots are gonna take over the world. The his who thought of that and made movies out of those ideas were genius.

Started watching A Starstruck Odyssey because I wanted some more fun silly antics and I am really liking it. Getting into the groove of things of the sci world was a bit confusing at first but I knew I would get used to it. I am just less of a sci fi nerd than fantasy so I need a little more to get my bearings but I do enjoy it.

Ngl it's really fun to see Ally play the most capable and serious person of the group. I love that they have to be the person in charge so they are not supposed to get into shenanigans but they can't stop themselves from feeding into the chaotic energy.

The Zac character switch was great too. I did not expect that at all I was curious to see how Skip was gonna work and then he got slugged lol. Honestly it's so good because Zac is so insanely great when it comes to physicality and he sells the character so well.

I wonder what his issue with Critical Role is? I don’t read or watch many interviews the cast does, but I do have some memory of them mentioning Felicia. And they gave her a role in TLOVM.

The reply is to a comment about the Wired interview (which I haven’t watched). I guess they were asked how CR was started, and they talked about it being a home game. I don’t know if they go beyond that, but that is how it started.

This has just been bothering me for hours since I saw it. She’s mentioned CR a few times while streaming, and it doesn’t seem like she has an issue with them.

Something I've learned about myself is that I tear my heart open first for someone and THEN ask: will you love me? Will you run towards me because you're glad to see me? Will you take the time to listen and learn about me the way im willing to for you? Will you grow alongside me and delight in the little things? Will you actually want and invest in a future with me? Will you love me with attentiveness and tenderness and careful intention? And the answer to THAT has always been/keeps being a resounding no lol

it's very weird tho, cos i have a lot of shit on here that i'm prolly not gonna keep - mostly my ancient harry potter books and all the signed neil gaiman i have... i don't even think i want to keep the unsigned gaiman either tbh, so i'm prolly gonna put them all in a big pile to donate

can't really do any ornaments or knick-knacks yet cos i need newspaper to wrap the fuckers in, so i'll be trying to yoink some free papers next week on the train hehe

their first interactions are, in fact, everything to me

the way sidney was like "i am feeling awful, barry help" and barry immediately, unquestioningly, stepped in and validated her actions, and validated a change in action, and completely avoided perpetuating her cloud of shame

i think i am going to be absolutely insane about those two. i can feel it
