When Alex broke off from Farrah and Emmy under the guise of using the restroom, it wasn't precisely true, but he needed a break. He loved spending time with Emmy, and watching her expression light up at all of the new sights and sounds. They'd become quite the pair in their time together.

And the day out, as well-intended as it was, just felt forced and awkward. They weren't a happy family, and Farrah hadn't expressed any real interest in being Emerie's mother for months until she randomly tracked him down and just showed up. All this had served to do was prove to him he didn't really know her at all. He'd crafted an idea of her, and ran with it while it suited him, then moved on when it didn't. So, in a lot of ways, he deserved her ribbing and digs, and the discomfort lodged in his chest like bowling ball nestled between his ribs.

But that didn't mean he didn't need a moment to splash his face with some cold water, and take a few deep breaths. Once he'd done that, the man squared his shoulders and prepared to catch up to Farrah and Emmy, until he felt a body collide with his chest, and then—

Sticking not too far from the entrance, half keeping an eye out for friends and half praying that the spot would be a little more conducive to his cell phone service. It was barely hanging in, but he hadn't got an update from Amaia yet and his nerves were beyond frayed waiting. She wouldn't be this petty, right? The whole town was taking shelter for a hurricane warning, his ex-wife couldn't possibly fathom leaving him on read in the midst of this, could she? Emil continued to stare at his phone like he might be able to will a response into existence and he even sent a text off to Kira in hopes maybe she could get through to Amaia. He was trying to rationalize that the storm service was likely spotty, if not fully down in some areas — but not knowing his daughter was safe was going to eat away at him. The sound of his name was the only thing that pulled the man from the stare down with his cellular device, his brows furrowed in confusion at the face pushing through people towards him. He blinked slowly at her. "Alara?"

@papaflynn event - summer music festival. Nia's loud laugh was distinguishable in the thick crowd, a far too broad grin plastered into place as she side-eyed Callum. "Okay, okay - you've almost got it!" She encouraged, "Step left, lock. Step, scuff right..." she called out as she moved, her eyes on her friend and not her own fluid steps. The rush of music and drifting chatter from the surrounding crowd made for a busy background, but she was in her own little bubble trying to teach Callum a line dance. Her unabashed laugh was a constant throughout the process. "Into a box step," Nia reminded and did a heel-toe step and turned. A look was instantly thrown over her shoulder towards him, measuring his progress. Amusement colored her features, and even if her 'student' wasn't exactly starring in a Briar Ridge Footloose anytime soon Nia was definitely enjoying herself. It was difficult not to when there was so much energy in the air around them.

Leyla let Marco guide her away from the crowd, grateful for his steady presence. The music and noise faded slightly as they moved to a quieter spot, but the whirlwind of emotions inside her didn't, her heart still racing. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but the emotions were too jumbled, too raw. "Sorry, I don't mean to pull you into this," she began, her voice unsteady as back towards the stage for a brief second before returning her gaze to him. "I'm fine. I'll be fine. It's just.. hearing him, seeing him, really threw me off. I knew he'd be here, but I didn't think it would mess with my head like this." Leyla had lost herself a bit in her own thoughts, so much so she almost didn't realise that he was searching her eyes for understanding. "—Billie's father. He's here, Marco."

Marco wasn't exactly the biggest country music fan, but he was feeling generous enough to give it a chance today. And as someone named Cash Henley made his way onto the stage, Marco forced himself into the crowd of concert goers to try and get the full experience. He was trying to navigate through the sea of bodies when one suddenly collided with him. Instinctively, he reached out to steady the other person, relief coming to his features when he realized it was Leyla. But that relief quickly faded when he noticed how off kilter she seemed. His brows came together in concern, big brother instincts immediately kicking in as he wrapped her up in a hug, gaze skirting around behind her scanning the crowd for something or someone that could have upset her. "I'm fine, Ley, but hey, come here a sec." Reaching out to take hold of her forearm, he gently lead her away from the crowd, so that they could hear each other better but also so she would hopefully feel a little bit more comfortable. Turning around to face her, he cocked a brow. "Alright, what's up with you?"

Event Summary !

Ryuuni has gotten a highly coveted invitation to an event thats only hosted every ten years! Because of NRC's... interesting actions with it's invites... so it hasn't received an invite in almost a century! not even a single student!

so Ryuuni was confused to see the peculiar letter in the mail, but to hear that they got one.. everyone at NRC was suddenly very interested and nice to their 14yr old enrolled student. :D

Invitation states that Ryuuni can take 4 people! (2 canon + 2 ocs)

the invited oc guests will be chosen by a raffle!

The festival happens when the smaller fairies of nature gather and make a big deal out of the switching of hot summer to cool fall and eventually winter! they all gather to watch their queen cast the weather! (because the royals always cast the weather, this event doesn’t happen often because of safety reasons)

all accompanied by stunning visuals, music, food, and games!

bigfoot and mothman- 4/10

now they may be ICONIC, but god this would be a pain. either you do it low effort and just look like a regular wedding or do it high effort and then melt bc summer is ren faire season and it will be hot. the slay value is off the charts though. maybe if they're on their honeymoon?

thomas the rhymer & his faerie queen- 9/10

Average Fairytale Man and beautiful ethereal faeire queen is such a dynamic and you wouldn't be too hard-pressed to do either of them! you could even spice it up and do hawker thomas! wouldn't stand out too much at all. 

helena and gerard-8/10

great and wonderful and beautiful. 1872 is SUCH a time period to be replicating the fashions of. absolutely gorgeous. vampires are inherently pretty too. however they have exactly Zero defining features other than vampire so have fun with that.

the rusalka and the shepherd girl- 10/10

this would go SO hard. shepherd girl-esque outfits and humanoid fantasy creatures are both ren fest staples and i am just reiterating how UNNECESSARILY HARD THIS WOULD GO. no complaints. perfect.

persephone and hades- 7/10

i mean. iconic. beautiful for sure. however as we have discussed, summer is ren fest season, and not being together during summer is kinda their whole thing. also they're maybe the least forgetmenauts-y couple on this list bc its a retelling.

the summer king and his husband- 9/10

breathtaking. the summer king music video is so gorgeously beautiful. -1 point because in said music video the summer king does not have legs. if you're a wheelchair user disregard that last segment its an 11/10 for you. 

gay werewolfs- 2/10

if you want to either wear fursuits or do the most low effort unrecognizable cosplay ever these are the fellows for you! they have even less defining features than helena and gerard, i don't even know how you would successfully cosplay them. 

charlatan in red & foxbride- 3/10

i would LOVE to see people's interpretations of the foxbride. however a ren fest is probably not the place for that. i also feel like perhaps drawings would be better than a human for portraying that. the phrase "charlatan in red" evokes a lot of ren fest vibes though so idk! 

zombie promgoers- 5/10

now this may not fully fit the theme of ren fest but i personally would love to do this. get that sunday best into rags and tatters and dirty yourself up. the outfits would be great and it definitely wouldn't be the weirdest things there.

tam lin & lover- 4/10

i may be unsure how you would successfully do this but that won't stop me from thinking its a good idea. another song that has a set time it takes place in that is not summer, not sure how i feel about that. if you went solo as tam lin's captor though????? 10/10gorgeous perfect etc.

james & lover from cottonwood- 1/10

Thanks a lot to everyone who's been following me through this journey. 2023 was one of the worst year of my life but also one of the best weirdly so let's hope 2024 will be better for everyone ♥

below the cut I'll put the link and explanations for each edit

1/ The Moonlight/Moonwood Tales concept : Based on the lore that came with the werewolves pack, I imagined a story that would explain everything between the werewolves, vampires and spellcasters. I actually prepared a plan for season 1 ... Maybe I'll post it next year ?

2/ The stories I planned for this year but so far, only Melodia is still going. DH3 will start next year sadly and Another Side has been cancelled because of lack of time and a bad computer.

3/ Aïssa in the city : a special photoshoot/lookbook with some items I love and also a small interview including infos about DH2 and 3. It's also a way for me to show more about Aïssa's modeling life. The title is also a reference to the upcoming spin-off about her ...

4/ The DH3 women and the DH3 gang because I want you to love them when the story will start !

5/ The EDGEWAVE fest organised by @aniraklova ♥ It surely was my favourite event this year ! What an awesome idea it was and a lot of people did amazing stuff during 2 weeks ! You saved our summer for sure ! I used Candy Bher as a reference to Another Side and MOON who's a character in DH3 ...

6/ Toxic Don ! A potential new Another Side story I've been thinking about years now ... It would be fun !

7/ The Ghostface DH3 edits : It's a reference to DH3 and Scream of course; the plot will be a tribute to Wes Craven actually !

8/ The Melodia musical video part : it actually was awesome and fun to create but it took me an entire month just for this little video. I decided to stick to a more boring regular way to post this story. I also don't have a lot of readers so far so I guess they will forgive me. I still see it as one of my biggest achievement here though so check it if you can ^^ I love how the episode turns into a musical movie

9/ @windbrook's Slashed Challenge : it was one of my favourite CAS challenge of all time ^^ I'm a huge slasher fan ! It was perfect for simblreen and people created awesome characters and stories !

10/ A makeover of the Three Sages that comes with Realm of Magic : Ana Mae is actually an original OCs, they all should appear in DH4 and 5 ... Morgyn should be very important in DH4 actually ...

11/ URBZ Mag DH3 edition ! Get the girls part here and the boys part there ♥ I love doing fake interviews and mag covers ! Sorry not sorry

12/ Valentines day ♥ My favourite is the one with the Destiny, Leïla and Aïssa because it's funny and feminist, what this trio is together ! They surely had a great night that day, it's also supposed to happen after Melodia so ...

13 / Franck and Madame Sophie : the first drag sims I create ! I wanted one for the Aïssa spin-off so I guess it will be them :)

14/ Recent edits I like : Maria Perron for @birdietrait's coven (I love her and I'd love to make a little story about her) / An other Another Side new idea focused on Venessa Jeong / Destiny's last portrait for the ocs associations

15/ My favourite gif coming from Another Side Episode 1 : I think it's the best ending for this episode as it shows all the plots and times together. Everytime I see it I want to get back to the story ...

Gotten a solid chuck of editing done this last week! At the rate things are going, I'm (tentatively) estimating the next demo update may be ready by the end of August to beginning of September. 🤞

As for the coding, I've started porting some of what I've already edited into Twine, hence actually having a percentage this week. I've also axed a small scene that I decided was unnecessary for the plot which has speed things up a tad. All in all, things are going good!

Weston had been trying to maintain focus on helping people and managing the chaos. If there was one thing he was good at, it was remaining calm in a frantic situation. It was a skill, really. The downpour of the hurricane had clearly caught everybody off guard, and he'd been immensely grateful he'd taken a jacket with him. As he noticed Nia's wet, shivering frame and inevitable discomfort, he immediately began taking off his jacket. "You look like you're freezing," he said, offering it to her with a gentle smile and hoping it would at least help her stay a bit warmer. "Here, take this." His calm and composed demeanor was a stark contrast to the storm's chaos. "Don't want you catching a cold." Nia’s reference to the key seemed to momentarily puzzle him, his face betraying a hint of confusion as he managed a nervous smile. "Yeah..." he chuckled, awkwardly agreeing and lowkey finding himself embarrassed that he didn't get the key thing at all. "Uh, yeah I did actually." His tone was met with a little distaste. High school certainly brought about a lot of traumatic memories for him. "Cafeteria's this way," Wes pointed in the direction with a nod. "Hopefully they've got stuff stocked up, even though it's summer."

Everything was a blur, the trek from the festival to the school was hectic. She'd come into the building somewhat towards the back of a grouping of arrivals and immediately volunteered to help. So swiftly in fact that she hadn't even had a minute to straighten herself much. She'd just pulled a claw clip from her purse to get her tragically wet hair up off her neck. The inevitable frizz and ruin of her silk-pressed locks was going to have to be future!Nia's problem.

She was still a bit wet and cold when the woman stopped in front of Weston, severely underdressed for a torrential downpour, holding the master key to the vending machines from the Principal and two empty purple plastic totes she'd procured from the art room. Ready to get to business and distract herself from the chaos by being productive. In a panic, Nia preferred to be busy and useful — so there she was. "We've got the key to Erebor," she announced with a dramatic jingle of the key. "So. I... didn't go to school here, did you? " She was hoping yes because she'd been a little over-confident and forgot to ask someone where the cafeteria was.

Jack tries to catch his breath before his last set of leg presses. 

There’s something immensely satisfying about weight-lifting days. It’s straightforward; more weight, more reps, diversifying exercises—it all works together to translate to better performance on the ice: more power, more breakaway sprints, more goals. A simple A plus B equals C. Jack’s favorite kind of math.

Once, not that long ago, weight training days would have been solely about maintaining the perfect form, strict adherence to his own ridiculous goals, pushing his body to keep going, to be better, to go right up to the limit of what was possible—and then past it, regardless of all the warnings his coaches, his parents, his teammates, even his own mind were giving him.

But now Jack’s in a better place, he’s got more support, so he can just lose himself in the repetitive motion, the sensation of sweat down his back, the clean exertion of pushing his body in a healthy way.

Or, he could, if he wasn’t so distracted.

It isn’t Jack’s fault that the leg press machine faces the mirrors. It isn’t Jack’s fault that there’s a clear view of the hip adductor machine in said mirrors. And it certainly isn’t Jack’s fault that Bittle is ahead of him in the circuit, on said hip adductor machine, in said mirrors.

…But it might be Jack’s fault that he can’t stop watching.

Despite his size, Bittle’s always been strong. That much had been obvious from the way he could skate suicides for an hour, the way he could hurl his body so high into the air and spin, the way he could whip a meringue by hand without pausing, or switching hands. He’d been surprisingly dense when Jack had pushed him into the boards during checking practice last year, Jack’s attention caught by how Bittle’s muscles were highlighted as much as his haircut in the sunlight when he’d moved into the Haus this summer.

Bittle’s strength is glaringly obvious right now.

The mirror provides an optimal view for Jack as he rests before his last set. Bittle’s perched on the seat, hands on the grips behind him for balance. His brow is furrowed, and the collar of his shirt dark with sweat from the effort from today. For once, he’s not singing or humming or bouncing along to the music in his headphones; Bittle’s breathing in through his nose and out through his mouth carefully, measured, timing his exhales with every time he manages to bring his knees together. Jack’s whole being is focused on the way Bittle’s thighs flex as he pushes them from spread wide to knees touching and back again. Over and over. All of Bittle is glistening with sweat from the exertion under the fluorescent lights and Jack— 

Jack has a sudden, visceral, all-consuming urge to taste. To run his hands from Bittle’s delicate ankles, up his calves. To hold Bittle’s thighs open wide with his shoulders so he can get his hands on his hips, his waist, his ass. To take his time, sucking the sweat from Bittle’s thighs hard enough to leave a line of bruises in his wake, before moving higher. To lick the sweat from the crease where his thigh meets his hip. To chase the drops of Bittle’s precome with his tongue. To take Bittle’s cock with his mouth, all the way to the hilt, before pulling Bittle’s hand to his own hair, encourage him to move Jack exactly how he wants, to take—

The resounding clang of Bittle’s weight stack yanks Jack out of the fantasy.

Jack stands, busies himself with adding more weight to his own machine for his last set, determined to keep his eyes off the mirror, off of Bittle as he bustles around the machine, gathering his water bottle, bending over to wipe the seat down, ass facing the mirror—

It’ll be fine. Bittle will finish cleaning the machine. He’ll move on to the next stop in the circuit, to the machine that’s directly behind the hip adductor. Completely obscured from Jack’s view, and Jack will be able to finish his leg presses without getting distracted.

Bittle catches his eye in the mirror and gives him a small smile and a salute before bouncing off to the next machine and Jack—

Jack better do two more sets, just to be safe.
