Growing up aroace, I always hated the “friends to lovers” trope. I used to watch cartoons and create my own “anti-ships” thinking “those two are so great together! I hope they never kiss!”. Unfortunately, they always did… That’s why I can’t recommend Summer Camp Island enough! This show is everything kid me always wanted! There’s not only one, but two platonic soulmates in it. If you like cartoons where the main characters strengthen their bonds without dating at the end, please give it a try.
