A RUNE RENAMED.
It has been in the works for some while, but the rune known as Cho will now be known as Chox going forwards. A necessary change to separate this rune and its presence from a very common surname.
The name of this rune is pronounced as [ t͡ʃoχ].
A new rune list is also being created with a more legible layout, featuring all up to date rune names and vital aspects.

They're two different styles of carving implement, one better for soft surfaces and the other better for hard ones. And sure, dear, just step into the light.
As Rose sends the rather ominous words, a quite literal doorway of light appears before Veronica, contained within a distortion of space that makes it look like some sort of oval shaped bubble in the air. It looks the same from any angle. Upon stepping through, Veronica would find herself beside Rose in a rather simple but very long room with smooth stone walls, floor, and ceiling, a small wooden table before her containing a number of different styles of pen, everything from quills to calligraphy brushes to ballpoints, with the appropriate ink for each. There's a few more tables about the room with various contents on each. In one corner there's what looks suspiciously like a half finished suit of power armor hanging on a rack, albeit... not quite the same style as she's familiar with.
"Welcome, dear. If you'd please choose a writing implement, we can begin. I'm going to teach you Sul'Voth, or "True Tongue" in english, a rune system that requires absolute conviction to activate. Anything less, and the spell will fizzle. Just an added bit of precaution."
"The basic principles for all rune systems are quite similar. You start with symbols whose meanings appropriately describe your desire, and fit them together in a way that feels right, charging them with your intent and magical energy to bring about the desired effect. Sul'Voth in particular is slightly special in that each rune can only be used in a stand alone form for magic, with the exception of two-rune 'bindrunes' that merge the two component runes together into something new."
madgodsmistress:
Actually that’s sort of the point of runes in general. The magic is shaped by the runes and the scribe’s intent rather than by the caster’s will, creating a much more stable spell. Incantations and movements and the like are helpful to beginners for similar reasons.
Though, we will need to see about getting you a stele or athame for your work. Carved runes are generally better than drawn or painted. Tattooed runes, though they might initially seem like they’d be drawn, still benefit from the permanency of a carved rune thanks to how tattoos work.
Anyhow, would you like to do this at your place or mine? I can bring you here and send you back easily enough, don’t worry about logistics, just give me an honest answer.
That’s good. Better for the spell to be stable before an idiot like me tries to cast it, yeah?
I don’t know what a stele or athame are, I think they just ran out of those in the Super Duper mart. Is it okay if I do it at your place? Don’t wanna fuck up mine with magic. I know you could fix whatever mistake I make.

We have officially reached editing stages for the Lexicon of the Sul'voth language. A momentous development indeed with the 10 year anniversary coming up in 2025.
The interesting thing about this stage is the rewriting of some aspects of the Runes. Their meanings have not exactly changed, perhaps it is more appropriate to say they have been refined, focused.
I am currently debating another release of The Dirokvul alongside the lexicon. This would act as a paired release. The descriptions of runes being simpler in the lexicon for clarity and to ensure the basic descriptions do not take up a larger section of the language mechanics. This means The Dirokvul will still remain focused on the individual runes and the more arcane meanings of each. I feel this is a necessary split in knowledge to keep both texts concise and legible, but please share your thoughts if you wish!
I am nearly settled in my new lair. New work is on the horizon, and I'm thrilled to begin production again.

Rose's eyes seem to light up-- no wait they actually light up, behind her mysterious fuchsia sunglasses. Weird. Either way, she seems extremely excited by Jack's guesses. "You're quite close on both counts! The rune work is angelic script written in Sul'Voth, a language of Law. The gun is a pulse laser chamber and some focusing lenses. I'm not entirely clear on the science behind it removing heat from a struck object but I don't need to know precisely how it works to slot a lens in."
"As for my name, I am called Rose Strider. I have a longer name but it's reserved for close acquaintances, of which you are not. I know a few fae and far aligned persons and I know better than to go around handing out my full name in cadence. Names are powerful things, after all." She takes the hand that's still hanging there in her left hand, shaking it firmly, trying to get a feel for the interesting man.
"Now you've got me curious. What's your relation to Micheal, that you take on a noticeably different tone where he's concerned? Not to pry, of course, private business is certainly private, I think it would just put us a bit more at ease to clear the air, as it were."
madgodsmistress:
Rose just smirks a bit and looks at Rath. “Aww, he called you cute.” Still smirking she turns back to the newer mysterious fellow with a sonic weapon. “Joking aside, I’m honestly just tagging along with him because he’s the first person I found out here and he seems to have a good level head on his shoulders. At the moment we’re trying to keep a man named Michael from leaving the island so he can’t bring the mold somewhere else in some presumably mad half-baked plan for world domination or true enlightenment or some other suitably megalomaniacal goal.”
Rose shrugs and starts fiddling with her laser, fixing the lenses back and messing with the charging loop on the back of the focusing chamber. “But tell me, what brings you out here, stranger? Bit of an odd place to be strolling around with a presumably prototype sonic weapon looking for some sort of professor, even if she is good with a firearm herself.”
Rath scoffed at Rose’s joke, though once the man looked up, smiling his bright smile and somehow managing to chew the scenery a bit in the process. Briefly his eyes shifted from Rose to Rath, before settling back to Rose.
“No jokes, ma’am. You’re, ah, definitely the dangerous one out of the three of us,” he said, finally holstering his weapon, seemingly satisfied. He pointed at Rose’s outfit, finger tracing the shape of one of the runes in the air as he did so. “Those markings they’re… well I’m not familiar with this specific scribe, clearly, but they look divine. Maybe…” he trailed off bringing his finger back to his chin as he tapped it, seeming to be flipping through some possibilities in his head. Suddenly, he snapped his fingers.
“Ah! The Angelic Blight from Skoruvi! Tell me I’m right!” He said, holding his arms out to the side expectantly, as if expecting to be congratulated, though still seeming fully open to the idea of being wrong, somehow.
Shifting his gaze back to Rath, his posture changed just a bit.
“Anyways, is what she saying true, scruffy? Are you hunting Michael down?”
His tone had shifted. It was subtle, but there was a drop of familiarity to how he said Michael’s name. If he didn’t know him, he knew of him.
Suddenly, the man held his hand out towards Rath.
“Name’s Jack by the way.” And again he flashed that strangely perfect smile.
Rath blinked at the man, sizing him up for a moment before nodding.
“Rath. Yes, we are trying to track Micheal down. He’s a scientist, seemingly of the mad variety as of late. I think he thought he would find something here, and when he didn’t, he lost touch with reality a bit.”
Jack nodded as Rath spoke. Rath hadn’t taken his hand.
“‘Something,’ right.” Jack repeated, before turning back to Rose. “It is a bit of a strange place to find someone strolling around, you’re right Miss…?” he trailed off, leaving Rose room to introduce herself or not to. “Pardon, but that thing you’re working on there. Looks like some type of modification for a homebrew EMP type of effect. Would that be a correct assumption or am I reaching?”

Would you say that there are ways to harness Sul’voth runes for “evil” purposes? I find the concept of using magick for good or evil extremely fascinating, and so I just wanted to ask if that was a possibility, or if there are certain restrictions?
(An example of evil being hurting someone else for your own gain, being unnecessarily cruel, etc etc)
I think this is an interesting quandary, and I will try to answer it with as much tact as I feel this question deserves.
It's important to acknowledge the historical presence of curses and hexes, these darker aspects of magic and ritual are as old as magic itself. With this aspect though, I find it hard to label common folk who occasionally participate in curses as "evil".
In regards to Sul'voth, two runes in particular are associated with curses and malign intent, Chox and Xo. Now these are the most associated, but it is fair to say any runes could have their aspects twisted into a more sinister intention or energy. Jur is a prime example for binding rituals and magic. I specifically use imagery and themes of curses and "dark practices" in my artwork sometimes. It adds a certain flair and theming to the work when needed.
With all this being said, the most important thing I feel to address would be the actual restrictions. These runes are not symbols of hate. They never have been, and never will be. I am careful to weave inclusivity into my sacred texts, so that all know these runes and tongue are for any who seek their grace. I will remain outspoken about anyone who tries to twist any of my work towards hate speech. I'm well aware of the horrid individuals who lurk in the occult and spiritual communities and try to sow hate and seeds of white supremacy. Sul'voth will never be for these people.
Hopefully this is succinct enough. I'm sure I will need to speak on it in the future.

Do you plan on adding any vocables to Sul’voth?
I don't believe this question has ever actually been asked to me before, it's a unique one to address.
While I can understand the use of vocables in day-to-day situations and as expressions, they feel too informal for what Sul'voth is. As a ritualistic and arcane language, the methods for creating Sul'voth incantations and writings are often very focused. This is not an informal tongue, and while I may address some more reaction-focused terminology, I don't see a solid list of vocables coming into the lexicon.
Thank you!

I believe it to have been said before that Sul’voth is a philosophy as well as a language, art form, and other things. Would texts perhaps be created in the future that lend themselves toward a more philosophical perspective, or perhaps would a patron of Sul’voth write their own thoughts on the philosophy behind the runes?
I feel that the timing of this ask coincides with an important stage in my work. You are correct in your first sentence. I am currently working on 3 different books, alongside my other endeavours.
Perhaps the most anticipated, is the Lexicon of Sul'voth, which is in an editing phase currently.
While a few of the other books are moving along, I now face the task of seeking out publishers willing to work with me to make these books a reality. Currently, The Dirokvul is the only book on the runes containing some of the philosophy, and I am even considering rewriting major components of this book to better align with my continued work on the runes.
I've been in a limbo-like state with my social pages for the last while, there's a lot of work being done, but not much visually to share. Once the most current projects are done and cease to be under wraps, there will be much to show.

Oh! What rune language do you prefer? I found a lovely one called Sul'Voth (lit. "Voice of True Power") that's good for rigidly structured enchantments and wards, though it does have the annoying trait that a given bindrune (the language's version of rune-words) can only consist of two individual runes each, requiring much more work on the arithmantic side to make the array for your bindrunes.
Generally I stick to direct cast magic, given I've got a few artifacts, some of my own devising and some that I couldn't begin to comprehend the origins of, that help with shaping the spells.
madgodsmistress:
Most of them work by cutting open a portal, but it’s still pretty neat. Generally they’re more efficient if you’ve got two planes that are bordering but not in a fixed manner, so you can nip across the dimensional border one way and then cut back in somewhere else without having to go very far in your transitional dimension.
Not really sure what rune sequences you’d need to enchant one like that, though… I tend to skip the middle man and spell up a portal, myself.
Nah, it’s mostly that people make them with too much open-endedness!!!! Cutting through anything is a very, very popular choice for swordspeople who don’t got a lot of oomph behind them, and when they make one successfully, they’ll drop it and slice into the ground or through the air, and it just always ends pretty shitty!!!
I’m much better at the rune thing than the magic thing. Least the refined magic thing. I can throw a hell of a fireball, but fuck if that isn’t way more easy than figuring out all the doodles and the words you gotta say to summon one!!!
Of course putting rune sequences on my baby that might actually break her is a no-go, so I’d have to do some test-blades first… and I need them to be regular blades so I can shatter them if they’re right but also way fucking wrong

I believe this may have been discussed before, but I cannot find it for the life of me. What is the difference between The Void and The Abyss?
This is often a question that comes up, and I see them as a separate realm. The Void is internal insight, realm of inspiration and shadow, and eerie shifting stone. The Abyss, is depth. Dark dismay and unfound horrors. Think of them as different spaces. Now in regards to the runes themselves, I have been intent on changing Wos' listed vital essence from "The Abyss" back to either "Flow" or "Water", to avoid this confusion and align closer to Wos' truth.

How do you feel about individuals getting full words in Sul'voth tattooed on them, as opposed to just specific runes? Are you ever worried someone might have got it wrong and the tattoo ends up saying something completely different?
Funny enough, I've already had people get runes incorrectly tattooed on them.
In general I actually love to see people resonate enough with these runes to get them tattooed. That being said, my main caveat is one I'm very upfront about, that words may be transient. They change and shift as the language evolves, and sometimes words may be completely morphed, have a letter changed, or cease to exist completely. I also don't have a publicly released lexicon for people to draw from, for both vocabulary and grammar.
This is usually why I recommend individual runes at this point over words and phrases, the runes are set in stone. In the coming years though, I'm hoping things will become more solid.

To make sure this is directly stated: I am a queer individual, and my beliefs and philosophy are innate and instilled into all of my work, especially when it comes to my runes and the entire practice of working with Sul'voth symbols and imagery. The entire project and language is meant to be inclusive, and is for the accessibility and empowerment of folks from all walks of life, regardless of gender identity or race. I state this, because I've noticed a small uptick in white supremacist attention, and since I've been in this online space for so long, I can also acknowledge that the occult and spiritual communities have an issue in this regard.
Sul'voth contains absolutely no hate symbols, and I will personally call out and speak out against any attempts to corrupt these symbols I have made.
For those who follow me, you have my full permission to firmly tell these fucking fascists that they are not welcome, and that these symbols are loving.
