Happy Wednesday! . Part of my book haul this week, so far, is a Christmas book - yes, that’s right. It’s July and Christmas ARCs are coming out. (QOTD) Do you enjoy Christmas reads? When do you like to read them? (AOTD) I used to read Christmas books between Thanksgiving and Christmas but now that I am lucky enough to get galleys, I read these books in the early fall. . . . . #bookstagram #awhitechristmasonwinterstreet #suemoorcroft #christmasinjuly #christmasreads #christmasreading #books #booklover #book #bookworm #bookstagrammer #reading #bookish #bookaddict #booknerd #bibliophile #instabook #booksofinstagram #readersofinstagram #read #bookaholic #booksbooksbooks #bookphotography #booklove #love #bookcommunity #bookblogger #instabooks #booklovers #igreads (at Lake Davidson) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf9F4Har__P/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The Romantic Novelists' Association was founded 60 years ago to raise the prestige of romantic fiction and exists today to champion the quality and diversity of that genre. It is primarily for published authors - and numbers many Sunday Times best selling authors amongst it's members - but its outstanding New Writers' Scheme has helped a huge number of writers over the publishing threshold. The RNA also gives seven Diversity and Inclusion Bursaries annually to support writers on this scheme. I have been a member for 27 years, go the lunches and talks with my local chapter and to its wonderful annual conference. We don't care about gender, sexual orientation or colour. We only care that you write about love. It gets White
Family sagas and then second chance love collide in this feel good novel that sorts out a tangled set of relationships.
I liked that the parents were a same sex couple and that not only had they had a very long life together, but that they had weathered some tricky issues with both women wanting babies at the same time, and subsequent, and later, affairs.
The book showed the difficulties that children of same sex couples can have at school, but that they can also grow up to be ‘normal’ and well balanced adults. Demonstrating that the lack of a male figure in their family was no deterrent to a happy childhood and future careers etc.
The novel was well rounded and the style was coherent and well written. The storyline took us to pubs and Switzerland and singing and included a lively dog for those readers who need a family pet to be included. There was enough drama and misunderstandings to allow for the norm of this type of genre with a happy ending

Review
This is my first time reading a Sue Moorcroft novel and I’m so happy that I’ve read this book! It was just such a joy to read full of warmth and Christmas vibes and second chances, new beginnings, old friendships, new love, family, ugh just everything I full on adored this! Such a satisfying Christmas story I’ll definitely be picking up Sue Moorcroft a lot more in the future. I absolutely loved Georgine and Joe they both just warmed my heart. Joe was such a lovely character to get to know and my heart broke along with Georgine reading/hearing about how hard his past was, but seeing him trying to better the community for the kids was just amazing. And poor Georgine I was actually quite angry for her not at her father but at her sister and mother for the unfair blame they placed upon her. Also cannot not mention how much I loved Oggie he was such a fantastic lovely support for both Joe and Georgine at hard times. For a my first Christmas read this year this was a cracker and will definitely be hard to top, a completely joyous heartwarming read that I urge anyone in the mood for a Christmas read to pick this up you will not be disappointed. Thank you so much to Sabah at Avon for inviting me to be part of the blog tour.

Today is all about the Christmas story that still haunts me. I thought Under the Mistletoe was an excellent Women's Fiction story. I always applaud authors who bring light to mental health disorders in an empathetic manner as this one does with Agoraphobia. . But I want my Christmas stories to be light and fluffy. Books that make me happy from start to finish. It just sort of shocked my system to tackle tough subjects like Agoraphobia, sexual assault, and bullying in a story when I was expecting light and fluffy. . I gave it four stars as a Women's Fiction story, but I didn't rate it as a Christmas story. I think forwarning will go a long way for readers to enjoy it as a Christmas tale. . What kind of holiday stories do you enjoy? . . . . #underthemistletoe #suemoorcroft #netgalley #netgalleyreads #christmas #bookrecommendations #bookreview #bookreviewblog #bookreviewblogger #bookreviewsofinstagram #womensfiction #agoraphobia #sexualassualt #bullying #triggers #triggerwarning #christmasreads #christmasbooks #holidayfiction #bookblogger #bookbloggersofinstagram #bookbloggerlife #bookstagram #booklover #booksandmugs #booksandcandles #booknerd #bookaddict #bookdragons #booklove (at Lake Davidson) https://www.instagram.com/p/CVxlK65ghQG/?utm_medium=tumblr
