It’s day 17 of the #nnghalloweenvinyl challenge by @nickynogood315: Final Destination: Life-Changing Record. Fleet Foxes - S/T (Sub Pop, 2008/18) I could have gone with The Beatles or Hendrix or Bowie or Marley or The Clash…but wanted to go with something 21st century. I remember hearing White Winter Hymnal on @nicharcourt’s Morning Becomes Eclectic over and over and at first it turned me off. But then I opened up to it and realized its brilliance. Lo and behold, I’m at Starbucks getting my afternoon coffee and there’s the CD! How very 2008. I bought it and became a devoted fan. I still have that CD but consider myself lucky to have the beautiful First Collection box set, from which this immaculate reissue is taken. In terms of how it changed my life…it helped bond me even more tightly to the music of our time, putting me on the road to AnEarful, the blog I started in 2009 to focus on the best new albums and artists.
