since starting KiraKira Precure A La Mode, I just had to get the Sweets Pact and KiraPati for myself!!! the Sweets Pact is super cute, and the KiraPati is surprisingly big but such a super idea and so nicely designed 💕 the icing on the cake is the Animal Sweets which have to be my favourite Precure trinket yet..! 🥹🌈🍰

Anatomy practice 2/?: Odonata

Odonata are the group comprising dragonflies and damselflies. They have 6 legs, large eyes, and project their lower jaws snappily to catch prey.

The juveniles grow as nymphs in good quality freshwater, consuming any organic matter they can fit in their little jaws, and are noted as aquarium pests due to their tendency to eat pet fish on the sly. They have 6 legs, stubby antennae, and little distinct segmentation between body parts. Damselfly larvae look as above but 'fluffier' in a way.

After some time, they will emerge and shed one last time to become their adult stage. Dragonflies hold their wings rather like a plane at rest, whereas Damselflies politely tuck them against their back. The eyes differ also, with Damselflies having a gap that makes them look vaguely like a hammerhead shark. Males and females of both species show some variation in eye placement, with males having bigger eyes, but it's not a diagnostic criteria.

Both variants of Odonata are fierce predators with a high success rate due to their wide range of vision and large eyes, and masterful control of their position in the air thanks to their powerful wings. They only last a few weeks generally, some species managing to survive up to 2 months after their final moult, so they have to make it count by mating and laying eggs for the next generation sharpish!

so sorry to infiltrate prev anon's ask but do you still use ibispaint???? I was under the impression somehow that you used a drawing tablet???

i have never owned a drawing tablet, every piece of digital art i have ever posted here on tumblr has been made by me poking at the screen of my phone. frankly im surprised more people don't do the finger on phone on ibis paint method

I may need to give up drawing for a short while. The laptop-tablet I usually drew on has officially died. It used the last of its strength to squeeze those last two drawings and then it died when I came home from my trip.

I used the charger to sustain its life but then I remembered that the battery life said “0%” while working on my last art. Meaning it was on its last remaining bits of energy. The battery in it has been dead but I kept using it until its last stand. And that day is today. It won’t even charge or turn on anymore.

It looks like I will have to buy a new stylus for my current laptop I use to continue drawing. The stylus I currently have isn’t compatible with it… But my autistic self likes to stick with my ways and it will be hard for me to get used to a new one…

I’m honestly very sad about it… 😢 So until I get used to this new one, you won’t see any art from me.

I hope I adapt to it quicker than I think…

Well folks, I'm afraid to say that the problem likely wasn't the nib, but something within the pen itself. So I may actually need a whole new stylus.

Bow wanted to see the sunrise so Glimmer teleported them right out of bed at daybreak to see it. But they were both so tired they ended up falling asleep and missing it anyway.

Somehow, they didn't mind.

(I was on a long car ride today so I decided to doodle this over one of these chibi bases on my preschooler's Fire using a very chewed-on freebie stylus. There are probably far better ways to do art and higher quality equipment but, eh, whatever works.)
