It’s so simple to not over complicate such things.
We have GOT to stop pathologizing the joy out of life.
Saw someone claim that if you read a lot as a child, you were disassociating. No, you were reading. Because reading is fun.
"I have a problem with maladaptive daydreaming." It's only maladaptive if it negatively impacts your ability to function in the real world. Laughing at a joke you made in your head isn't doing that.
"You seem to do a lot if creative projects. What are you escaping?" I'm escaping this conversation.
Like what is the end goal? Because so far, all this has done has made it harder to enjoy my hobbies because you're turning a mindless process into something I gotta think about.

I completed the McCall’s M8673 pattern view D, which is basically a corset style long sleeve top, boat type neckline. I used cotton muslin for my mockup, and plan to use jacquard and cupro for the lining.
More blades would be nice, as well. Because my rotary cutters although new-like the blades are not cutting through my fabric as it should and therefore causing more stress on the fabric which creates a jagged look which is not my cup-of-tea. My preference is for clean cut lines.. A swatch book is slowly being created while I move into making my actual wardrobe. I’ve seen a lot of dressforms that was made from the dbut I really don’t want to attempt at that at least not yet, and while moving to the place we are located now, was thrown away accidentally by the movers along with my cutting table. Worse movers in the world.
In other news, my daughter and I attended this baby music play., It was the most calming baby meet up we’ve ever attended. We even saw another mom A’kica and Tye, a mom and son who my daughter and I had met at a previous baby meet up sorta thing. It was a chill, Tuesday.
Also, this past Sunday, our neighbors baked for the family and I, a veggie lasagna which was absolutely DELICIOUS! Almost, like momma use to make it. Lol
But I cannot cook, at least not like a chef! I might throw a few veggies, noodles, and sauce in a wok and call it a meal. What should be my return thank you gift to the couple and their little one? We have a 6 month ‘Merry and Bright’ outfit my daughter never wore, so that’s a great regift but as the this couple…what do we give back?
A gift card, might be too lazy. I have been told I can make a decent stir-fry..what’s your suggestion?

So, it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of fashion and more specifically haute couture. Uni of Fashion, instructor and authors Francesca Sterlacci and Antonia Stardone wrote about women Pannier dresses from ca. 1750 And this was the image. Which lead me to consider, how would one use the bathroom? Apparently, by wearing split crotch undies and placing basically a bucket underneath to catch their waste.
The skirt portion looks like a beautiful comforter, perhaps it’s made of jacquard- a fabric that is most suitable for curtains and corset designs. The garment construction at the tops is well done and that v-shape to the corset is so flattering. But it is comical to see how wide the skirt is with today’s current trends.

A reflection from Uni.
I’ve noticed that some habits are truly beneficial, and I’m excited to keep developing them through blogging. My blog explores my interests, like sewing, swimming, weightlifting, and travel.
I chose Procreate, along with Canva, to help create unique visuals that tell my story—a story I’ve been quiet about lately. Last week, I took a much-needed wellness break and started going to the gym regularly again. Adding physical movement into my routine has helped improve my creativity and overall happiness, letting me relax and laugh more. Uni often felt like I was holding my breath, but returning to the gym has been refreshing.
Now that hiring season is here, I’m being strategic about my approach. I’ve listed roles that interest me, including a lifeguard position at the gym—since I’m already at the gym, I might as well head downstairs for work. It’s become easier to log my thoughts and keep track of what’s going on. This course, along with insights from a YouTube channel I follow, has really helped me refine my online presence and align it with my goals, making my strategy feel much more manageable.

So far, my reps are 18 with a set of 4. Usually, I use the elliptical for at least 1 mile, and then straight to weightlifting, total workout time is 45 mins to 1 hour. 9 years ago, I began my journey into weightlifting, but with a car accident that shook me up. I took years off, by rehabilitating my body with a chiropractor and physical therapist Now, I am feeling stronger than when I was in my twenties.
If you are weightlifting , what’s your routine? Do you prefer the gym or at home workouts?
I look forward to reading your responses. Follow me for more details about my journey.
Thank you,
M
