TIME of the SEASON Fall 2024 Edition: The Sequel Seasons
SEQUEL SEASONS ONCE AGAIN!
Welp, we’re down to some shows that are just the sequel seasons and good thing I waited until today to cover them. Looks like this season isn’t as much as prior seasons were. Again, that might be a good thing since it means I’m not swamped by a bunch of shows I might not give full attention to. (Yes, that’s bound to happen.) However, there are a couple of shows that I’m just going to wait for the…

Kato gives us fully dressed Shura...in stark juxtaposition to Studio Voln's tentacle porn Shura.
I'm probably reading too much into this. But Kato and I are the same age. It's amazing how blatant sexuality was such a thing in the early 2000s, you had to be fuckable to by worthy. But once you hit your 40s, you don't give a rats ass about that crap, and you feel like a total fool for buying into it. I've noticed Shura's been steadily dressed well in later chapters...

I actually much prefer a lot of how studio VOLN is handling Blue Exorcist over A-1, I know not a popular opinion in areas and get the places people say looks off but the vibes and heart is so good? also there is a lot of amazing shots and imo calling Rin "ugly" in it is an exaggeration to me, there's some wonky shots but there's also SO MANY he looks great! I think sometimes people forget that A-1 had equally bad shots and design choices like I think a lot are looking at the older seasons through rose colored glasses personally! not to mention they ruined a lot of scenes and how they changed them/adjusted them in their adaption that to me affected characterization and making some of the cast look almost dumb in a situation the manga version shows was more serious and dire!
ultimately my view has been: I'd rather an adaption feel like the heart is in the right place and the characters feel like themselves vs everything being pretty all the time and would rather deal with a few wonky shots of characters over a bad representation of a story and characters I love! visuals are not the only thing that matters to me ever
#just my thoughts#and no this isn't to say anyone is wrong for being bothered? I get it but to me it just doesn't matter as much compared to what I like#that they are handling in this season! plus smaller studio really does make me feel they are more likely to adapt further#but yeah just my thoughts mainly everyone is free to feel how they want in the end though#no one is more or less a fan of this series based on their criticisms of an adaption! especially when it comes from a place of love#and just wanting to see a series you love get adapted and treated well when it is! so please don't take my view as an attack on anyone#that sees it differently! everyone is valid in their opinions even if I don't agree on everything!#all that matters to me is the dance with me Shiemi scene was perfect and beautiful haha#and SHIEMI LOOKS THE PRETTIEST SHE EVER HAS ANIMATED#not at all sorry to say I do not like how A1 did Shiemi's design they did my girl dirty in season 1 and season 2 something was off at times#as well! so I'm glad season 3 is treating her right! both character wise and design! plus them actually changing her kimonos and stuff YESS#she feels so much more like manga!Shiemi now and I'm happy! what my girl deserves!#grace rambles#personal

Excited about Blue Exorcist coming back? it looks like a really interesting show
Ah, yes, yes! Actually this blog was originally dedicated to Blue Exorcist heck, the blog's name and as you see - as soon as it returned my brainrot became unstoppable 🤣
I really recommend it, especially the manga. It's a rare case for shounen when you have more than two plot relevant characters, when the female charas are independent and represent different types of strength, when the team's chemistry feels realistic and entertaining to watch. Also the romance is really nice and well written! Bless Katou-sensei! Started reading her work when I was like- 14 yo and she never disappointed my expectations.
As you see, so far I really enjoy the anime adaptation by Studio Voln. They're doing great!
Also I'm so sorry for my followers, but it feels like I gonna spam you with AoEx/Bonizumo content for a while. Please bear with me 😖💗
#it's a bit complicated to start with anime though#bc the second half of the first season are fillers with the original ending#and it's no good#so somewhere after episode 15-16#you need to drop everything#and start 2nd season aka Kyoto saga#it follows manga without any fillers#and then the new season#Inari arc is really good#starts with fun but plot twists and angst are coming

Srsly dude this shit got me buggin cause I have no faith in studio voln making this animation good.... I know their like discography or whatever shut up I know that's for music stfu anyways it's shit. They haven't animated a lot and the only thing they've animated that I like is i want to eat your pancreas and that movie animation is incredibly mid. A-1 does a very good job at doing great animation for TV productions, and movie productions, they usually have solid ass work, am I a fan of their generic ass corporate shiny ass animation??? Mmmm no. Not really I'm like whatever tbh, it's good I can't discredit that, uts just nothing new. Regardless they did pretty solid on animating blue exorcist 1 and 2, the story was a hot ass piece of mess, but the animation ranged from great to decent. They never really "missed" on any scenes, so to speak. But this teaser, first of all the style is kinda wack, it doesn't even fit the manga style more, it just looks more wack, maybe I guess in the sense everyone's face is a bit wider??? But that's like really it sometimes their faces get way too wide I certain scenes and it looks weird. Rn the animation scenes aren't anything I can judge, they're too generic and basic. I hope to God for the love of everything good in this world hiroyuki sawano does the ost it'll really make me sad if he doesnt... and uverworld better do the op or that's really gonna suck. Anyways disappointed production moved to this nothing studio, and I'm disappointed with what I'm seeing in the trailer, but I hope they surprise me.
Update 11/20 :D Uverworld is doing the op 👍
