I think about moving out more and more every day
#there is a way to move out that doesnt involve going into loan debt#its not ideal which is why im not already doing it. but it Is an option#i could get thru school debt free without depending on my mom#theres an apartment listing in the area that im familiar with and my noyf and i could afford#and bc im in healthcare there is no shortage of jobs that i could apply to and they all start above minimum wage#its possible. i could do it without any debt. and if times were ever hard i could take out student loans anyway#but is it harder than living with my suffocating mother?#ive never lived away from my mother before. i dont know the answer to that question#if it is Harder then i might as well suck it up and deal with her#but if its not harder.... then what am i still doing here

So I played through episode 12 yesterday and episode 13 today between my cleaning sprees and i only cried a little maybe dozen times through it all, so all I can say is that the main story continues to deliver.
Wasn't very keen on the storytelling style of ep13 at first, but definitely warmed up to it along the way. Getting scenes from the wiewpoint and in the thoughts of so many characters in just one episode turned out to be pretty refreshing. I did feel a bit overwhelmed as well but i'll put that on me chewing through it all in one day.
Sometimes I feel a bit worried that where is the main story going to go after a huge chunk of it comes to a conclusion, but at the same time... If the side stories have proved anything, its that there are so many things about the entire world and lore to explore. And I have to admit I'm still getting more curious about it all.
if you told me 5 years ago that the story and universe in a gacha game(derogative) is going to be something i'm obsessing over, I would've been so pissed at you even suggesting that.
Anyway, its a nice feeling to be so interested in something. I've lost interest in so many things and i feel like over the years its getting harder and harder for me to really get into something.
#i'm also pretty proud of myself with how well i've dealt with the whole gacha element over these 5 years with arknights#i used to struggle a lot with putting money into games for nothing#money that i didnt even have basically#i used way too much of my student loan back in the day to buy lootboxes and other similar shit#which i will continue to regret for another 15 years more before the debt is hopefully paid off#so i have purposefully avoided any games with -put in real money for random number generator results- options#and I really REALLY just dislike the whole gacha idea and model of monetization#it is your own damn fault if you put your money in and regret it later#but the model is still distasteful and also predatory to people with existing gambling problems#As much as i really enjoy arknights i also don't like to bring it up to talk about with random people because it is a gacha#and it will always first and foremost be judged by that factor

while we are speaking about The Sims 4, the University DLC is very revealing because it's unsashamedly based on the US college experience and not only in the fun parts but also in how fucked up the system is there, if things are just as half as fucked up as they are in that game, you have my genuine sympathy
#what the fuck is a letter of recommendation what the fuck is a student loan what the fuck is all this shit#I was looking for the 'free and public education' option and there was none#at least in the other sims you could pretend you had it by getting money by cheat and paying your studies (which should be free)#but in 4 you have a full look at how the whole system works. it's absolutely terrifying#cosas mias

Poking my head in to let people know I'm still alive, just horrifically depressed and fatigued due to the current anti-trans political climate here. It's gotten to the point where I'm terrified of using the bathroom at work, and it's basically been work, eat, sleep, rinse, repeat for me for a while. Sorry if I haven't reached out to anyone, but I just don't have the energy these days on top of not knowing what I'd even say other than "my state is actively trying to kill me" without sounding like a paranoid conspiracy theorist.
#;outofcabernet#so basically on hiatus with sporadic activity at best until further notice#moving is unfortunately not an option for me; I have too much student loan debt

Finally found a consolidation option for my loans so I can get them to a better servicer and get them to qualify for a payment plan I can actually afford. And stop my uni's fin aid office doing bullshit like dicking around with me and putting me on the wrong aid when I was literally homeless (forbearance instead of economic hardship deferment, caused a fuckton of interest to pile up all at once).
Fingers crossed the consolidation and everything goes through.
#if your job is to financial guidance people into doing the objectively shittier option your job needs to not exist#yes it was one of the loans held by uni managed by a company and it was BALLS#they were somehow monumentally worse than every other loan I've dealt with#I was literally starving in a motel paid for by charity at the time because there aren't shelters that take couples in my area#I wasn't exactly in a state to ask detailed questions and was easy to manipulate into whatever the hell program the fin aid office felt lik#genuinely evil behavior from the fin aid office#student loans#student debt#debt consolidation#poverty#bek speaks

Why is it that when I'm sick, finishing work late because a load of people didn't show up and ongoing work drama, stressed about my upcoming essay and still have a hour walk before I can get home, my dad is apparently kicking off and threatening to kick me out when I'm not even there??
#ace is a mess#+Extra#personal#apparently hes kicking off about the fact i 'chose to pay off my loan' which isnt true i didnt get any tuition loan this year so i have to#pay it out of pocket and unlike some students i absolutely will not be receiving any financial support to do so so im working to pay it off#and hes apparently fuming about it and is bringing up the fact i owe him money cus when i asked for a nee laptop for Christmas for uni#and repeatedly specified that i just wanted the cheapest most basic option possible and even found several under the budget for gifts#my dad decided to get a more expensive one with a bigger screen which is not what i asked for or needed!! a bigger screen makes it#ten times more cumbersome to take to class for notes and assignments and ive ended up still having to borrow uni laptops regardless all#cus hes got some ongoing issue about me having my own finances & not being financially dependent on him so he keeps making a point about it#hes so transparent that its all a fcking control thing as it has been since i chose what i wanted to do at college and he didnt approve#and i didnt change it and stuck with it regardless because my career plans have nothing to do with him honestly#btching that if i can afford to pay off my loans i can afford to pay him back which i cant! i cant afford my tuition thats why im staying#over summer to keep working so i can pay off my debt im not paying it off i never had it im in debt! and if i dont pay it i wont be able#to continue with uni whereas he technically still owes me 2k he can be fcking patient about his money which i knew this was gonna happen#when he kept insisting there might not be cheap options available despite me finding multiple 🙄#you know i get asked a lot why ive ended up at unis so far north when im from the south and its like i had to get away being half a days#drive away is the only way for my parents to physically leave me alone theyll still hound my phone but thats what airplane mode is for

A Step-by-Step Guide to Applying for Student Loans in the UK as an International Student
Pursuing higher education in the UK is a life-changing decision for many international students. However, financing your education can feel overwhelming. Student loans designed specifically for international students can help make your dreams of studying in the UK a reality. If you're looking for guidance on this topic, check out international student loans uk. This guide will walk you through the process of finding, applying for, and securing loans tailored to your needs.
Why Student Loans Are Crucial for International Students
Studying in the UK comes with several expenses, including tuition fees, accommodation, and living costs. While scholarships and part-time jobs can offer some relief, they are often not enough to cover the full cost. International student loans provide a practical solution, allowing students to focus on academics without constant financial stress.
Step 1: Research Loan Providers
The first step is to identify lenders who specialize in loans for international students. Here are some popular options:
Prodigy Finance: Ideal for postgraduate students with no collateral requirements.
Mpower Financing: Offers loans without a co-signer, focusing on future earning potential.
Future Finance: Provides flexible repayment plans for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
HSBC International Student Loans: Tailored for students with a local guarantor.
When researching, compare the following aspects:
Interest rates (fixed vs. variable).
Repayment terms.
Loan limits and coverage (tuition, living expenses, etc.).
Eligibility requirements.
Step 2: Check Your Eligibility
Each lender has specific criteria that applicants must meet. Typical requirements include:
Proof of enrollment in a recognized UK university.
A valid offer letter for admission.
Academic records and proof of financial need.
In some cases, a guarantor or co-signer may be required.
Make sure you understand and fulfill all conditions before proceeding to the application stage.
Step 3: Prepare Your Documents
To speed up the application process, gather all necessary documents in advance. Commonly required documents include:
Passport or valid ID.
Offer letter from the university.
Academic transcripts and certifications.
Financial statements or proof of income (for co-signers if required).
Loan application form provided by the lender.
Organizing these documents ensures a smooth and hassle-free process.
Step 4: Apply Online or Through an Agent
Most lenders offer an online application process. Here’s how it typically works:
Visit the lender’s official website and navigate to the student loan section.
Fill out the application form with personal, academic, and financial details.
Upload the required documents.
Submit the application and wait for a response.
Some lenders may also work with agents who can assist in completing your application.
Step 5: Review Loan Offers and Terms
Once your application is approved, you’ll receive the loan offer. It’s crucial to thoroughly review the terms, including:
Loan amount.
Interest rate.
Repayment schedule.
Any hidden fees or charges.
If the terms are unclear, don’t hesitate to reach out to the lender for clarification.
Step 6: Accept the Loan and Plan Your Finances
After accepting the loan, plan your finances wisely. Allocate funds for tuition, accommodation, and living expenses. Many lenders disburse the loan amount directly to the university for tuition, while the remaining balance is transferred to your account for personal expenses.
Step 7: Start Repayment After Graduation
Most international student loans allow you to start repayment only after completing your studies. Use this time to secure a job and plan a repayment strategy. Many lenders offer flexible options, such as income-based repayment plans or loan deferments in case of financial difficulty.
Key Tips for International Students Applying for Loans
Apply Early: Start your loan application process as soon as you secure admission to a UK university.
Compare Multiple Options: Don’t settle for the first lender—compare interest rates and benefits.
Understand Currency Exchange Rates: Since you’ll be dealing with international transactions, be mindful of exchange rate fluctuations.
Focus on Repayment Planning: Keep track of your loan obligations and plan for repayments post-graduation.
Conclusion
Securing a student loan as an international student may seem daunting, but by following these steps, you can make the process seamless and stress-free. With the right financial support, you can focus on achieving academic excellence and building your future.

It’s been a year since I started having to pay back my student loans, every payment has been on time and about $100 over the minimum payment amount
And in that year my loan of $20,000 is now only $21,127
#before anyone says ‘no one made you go’#my options were to go to college and live in the dorms using loan money or be homeless#so it really wasn’t a choice#but now I have 3 jobs and can only afford to eat 1 meal a day#so it was just as worth it as everyone said it would be#college#college applications#student loans

#griffin's life#i recognize that practically speaking I should just log in and assess my options for loan forgiveness or adjusted repayment#but i just kinda feel like i shouldn't have to do that#because student loans are evil#so why shouldn't i just put them on mute#credit isn't real
