JUST HOW FAST THE NIGHT CHANGES!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How does it feel to see your favourite ship to come back to you after 6 freaking years in the same characters , with the same vibe but but married and more in love ??? I mean I am short of words but I guess this is how you feel nostalgia. Thank you so much my min min and bong bong you have been the most dearest to me, the 5-minute cameo was everything I needed in my dull life.
Hyungsik and Bo Young you will always be loved by me.

I love how the Strong Girl Nam Soon creators clearly realize that a big part of what made Strong Girl Bong Soon so great was that the male lead was so baby purest man alive beautiful damsel and they're trying to capture that again but it's just... so hard to replicate lol.

As my research deepens, the greater the expansion of my new Roman Empire: Byeon Woo-seok as Ryu Shi-oh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JTBCDrama literally confirmed via IG account that Ryu Shi-oh FELL IN LOVE with Tsetseg.
Much is said that he only wanted her by force, but Tsetseg was not Gang Nam-soon. He also didn't know about the power of women. So why would Shi-oh look at Tsetseg with anything other than coveting his power other than with affection? Why wouldn't he fall in love?
Tsetseg and Gang Nam-soon were not the same person. Tsetseg challenged him, she was bold and seemed not to feel uncomfortable around him. She listened to him and showed compassion for his sad life story.
And, I still make room to comment on Ryu Shi-oh's stance. When he was around anyone else, he always walked around with his hands in his pockets (which can be considered a disrespectful gesture in Korea). Even when he hit the Delivery Man, he had his hand in his pocket.
Beside Tsetseg, he always had his hands exposed. He treated her as an equal and even as a superior (he sleeps in her presence, proving that he had trust in her to guard him in such a vulnerable state).
I'm not trying to justify the character's actions, but it's unfair to treat everything as black/white. Ryu Shi-oh was a character that had several layers. He was a Psychopath (although I don't agree with the definition in JTBCDrama itself) and could fall in love with Tsetseg.

The nerve of gang nam soon, the pampered kid with FOUR parents who would do anything in their power to provide for her, who has not ONCE in her existence felt an ounce of loneliness, who's trillionaire mother would rip the world inside out for her, who discovers capitalism and has the realisation that the world isn't cotton candy and bubbles but actually evil for the FIRST time when she's 22 yrs old; the nerve THE NERVE of that girl to chastise Ryu Sio, an orphan abandoned by the world, who was used and abused by the mafia, forced to murder people at 6 yrs of age, used like a puppet, torn between a war inside him, who not once in his life received the chance to be human.
Hwang geum ju is a filthy hypocrite with her "people can change if they're given a second chance", where was your magnanimous-forgiving-second-chance giving spirit when you were dealing with someone being forced by one of the most powerful mafias in the world to distribute drugs? As for Gang nam soon, I've never hated a main character as much as I hated her. How could you turn around after someone tells you they've been abused their entire life, trusted no one, and were forced to do terrible things to survive, and call them a bastard? Does nam soon not have an ounce of empathy in her hypocrite body? The parallels between Nam soon eating lunch in a villa with her two mothers and relatives who love her more than anything else in the world and the scenes where Sio sat alone in the place where his orphanage stood? And knowing that despite being abandoned by his parents which resulted in him being abused for years he understood that his biological parents were probably not in a position to provide for him and tracked them down and provided for them? And all this for the drama writers to just include a scene where the main characters on their romantic stroll to muse once about how different ryu Sio would have turned out if the world had shown him an OUNCE OF KINDNESS? Like you guys are seriously telling me that this thought did not occur ONCE in gang nam soon, daughter of philanthropist and believer of goodness of people Hwang geum ju, that this man opening up to you about his traumatic childhood and life and the fact that he does not want to die being controlled by an evil mafia could possibly be a better human if he recieved the chance? This drama could have explored a complex relationship between Sio and Nam soon, where she recognised that he was really a victim of society's evils, Hwang geum ju could have helped Sio escape the clutches of the mafia and they could have taken down this organisation together, but no instead the writers decided to make a drama chock full of loopholes, cringe dialogue, predictable and boring plot "twists", a painfully one dimensional male lead, and a forced romantic relationship between the main characters who had ZERO chemistry. From a kdrama fan who LOVED strong woman do bong soon and only and only started this drama because of bongbong and minmin's 5 minute cameo, I'm beyond disappointed. It ruined my year ending (almost)

I’m watching strong girl nam soon, which is apparently a spin off of strong woman do bong soon. They have the cop love interest dressed as a woman to get the bad guy so I’m glad they’re doing something similar

not yet on the ryu shi-oh train?
to everyone unable to see the nam-soon x shi-oh, because of the:
red flags
"he tried to kill her mom!"
honestly, i get it. the main leads are vv sweet and they're building up to an ideal, healthy relationship. BUT, having said that, other than nam-soon going through personal growth and learning about the way the world works + capitalism (completely by herself, let me add), I don't see them undergoing any growth, or development together.
even do bong-soon, grew into her feelings and had a lot of development alongside min-hyuk, rather than just as her own person, and it added to the dynamic of the whole relationship.
the reason why ryu shi-oh would be such a good fit for nam-soon is because of the potential they have to help each other become better versions of themselves. [her naivity & his belief that only having strength can fullfill him]
+ about the murder attempt, it was terrible obviously, but from nam-soon's point of view, very few situations would truly make her feel uneasy, because of the faith she has in her strength (& her mother's strength), so even though she was worried – as a child who'd just found her mother – she was probably operating from a very different mindset.
in addition, when the mother, hwang geum-joo has completely forgiven the girl, hwa-ja for trying to stab nam-soon, (attempted murder basically, which is again downplayed because of the strength they have) i find it perfectly reasonable that nam-soon could find it within herself to forgive him and look past his misguided actions, if she so chooses.
speaking of, from nam-soon's point of view:
obviously, it is a terrible idea to believe that you can fix someone, or that if you stick around, they will somehow change – BUT there's a pretty clear distinction to make here – she has not chosen him yet, and she is not waiting for him, but he has already begun to want to be better for her, and changed an immense amount when it comes to how he acts around her, which (not that makes him a green flag), makes for a pretty healthy relationship, if they both come to be on the same page at some point, especially with how honest he is with her.
this series takes place in a fantasy universe, and because she has her superpowers, the power balance is tipped in nam-soon's favor, both physically, and when it comes to the power she holds over him.
so, technically, if she's able to forgive his...extracurricular activities, it really is her business who she ends up liking 👀 (dw, ik it's hee-sik endgame)
at this point, everything relies on the personal choices each character makes. Ryu shi-oh has already shown signs of looking within himself and being willing to open up to nam-soon about his past & be vulnerable, so the ball is in her court now, especially with the scene we've ended on in episode 10.

The best thing about Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is that her mother is actively encouraging her to seduce her boss. Everyone else in Kdramas is so concerned about women's chastity, but she's like, "No! Stay at his house! Sleep with him! Entrap him with a baby!"
Tumblr media
And the one time she leaves them alone in a room and is like, "Don't worry, I'm not coming back."

No no but look at the state of his hands
Tumblr media
He literally fought with everything he had to try and get to her. Even though she repeatedly told him to leave because there was a bomb.
She begged and pleaded and he absolutely refused to leave because like he said, “I’m not leaving without you.”
Tumblr media
“We’ll go together. I’m going to stay by your side.”
He was prepared to die for her.
Tumblr media
We hear it all the time. The “he fell first, she fell harder” trope but honestly I think this is one of those “he fell first but they both fell hard” tropes.
Tumblr media
There is nothing Min Hyuk wouldn’t do for Bong-soon.
This moment. This utter desperation he shows to get to the LOHL gets me every time because that is exactly what Bong-soon deserves. For someone to love this much for who she is regardless of her abilities or not.
Min-min would bring about the end of the world just for his Bong-bong and she deserves nothing less.
