Review:
Two people who were never meant to meet find themselves breaking realms to be together and sharing a love through the time.
Carys has been ostracized and shunned by her clan for her malformed wings, her only solace is the secret friend she has whom she communicates through the well.... Gavriel is tethered to the Underhill, unable to escape the guilt and pain of his failures, the only happiness he has is the mysterious maiden who visits him through the rift. When Carysβs living situation becomes unbearable and Gavriel is sent to hunt all of her kind... they find that they are mates but are strained by the fact that Gavriel is bound to another realm and that they can barely be with one another unless they find a way to free him. Together they will spend decades together, in love, in happiness, and trying to not only save Caryβs kin but also find a way to free Gavrielβs people. This was a really interesting fantasy romance, and I loved that we got to see their relationship span through time, decade from decade, and how just cozy and sweet it was. Overall, I had a lovely time with this one and though it ends pretty open ended it was a lovely read.

CS Fic Rec Monday:Β βStone Heartsβ by: @donteattheappleshook
I really feel like I donβt have words to explain how much this fic got to me -- itβs been whirling around in my head ever since. There were tears welling in my eyes numerous times throughout this. The angst and Emmaβs pain and fear and how close she comes to giving up after such loss are so real and raw, and then @donteattheappleshook reeled me in even further with the possibilty that all might not be lost after all, and we get yet another version of Killian Jones working his way into our hearts.Β I seriously feel like this one is always going to be with me, and Iβm definitely going to be revisiting it any time I need a well done tearjerker with a healing resolution.Β Β
It already has gorgeous art (that I hope itβs okay to paste here) and Iβm linking it below. Iβm just stunned that this was @donteattheappleshookβΒ βs first long MC!!! Itβs SO GOOD, and I really canβt say it enough -- see for yourself.

βThis is a song off of an album, anyway,β Jeff trails off, trying to let Eddie start the riff for the next song. But he's not about to let this go unchecked.
βJeffrey,β he drags out the name into as many syllables as he can manage, giving the end a singsong-y trill. βJeffrey, did you forget which album the next song is off of?β
Gareth isn't mic'd but Freak is, so he can hear that at least one of them picks up his teasing with an ooooh.
βWe don't need to tell them what every album is, they paid good money to see us. Hell, some of them probably saw us when we were debuting it.β
βBut you announced the last one,β Freak says.
βAn excellent point, Freakazoid.β Eddie agrees, βAnd he certainly set this one up like he was going to share again, didn't he?β
βHe did,β Freak's nod is a little more exaggerated than it needs to be, playing it up for the nosebleed seats in the crowd.
βWe've got a set list to get to, these people don't wanna be here all night.β Jeff tries.
βThis is a Corroded Coffin crowd, my man, they don't bow to the whims of things like a bedtime.β
βThank you to everyone who took advantage of the AARP presale,β Gareth adds, the bit has gone on long enough that he's had stage crew bring him a mic.
βGareth had his knee replaced three months ago and he's here. These old fogies can put up with the show going an extra twenty minutes, while we dig down on this right?β
The crowd cheers, Eddie only waves them on a bit to amp them up. He sends his shit eating-est grin Jeffβs way as they shout.
βSee, it's fine. Now, did ye of the memory vitamin supplements forget what album the song was from?β He turns to the audience more directly, βThe people want to know!β
βFine, yes, you've written so many songs about fucking Steve, they've all started to blur together. Does that make you happy?β
βThrilled,β and he is. It's the best thing he's heard all day, and he gets to be on stage again for three generations of fans. βThis next one is off of Hunt the Freaks, and it's actually about him fucking me.β
