Kind of in love with the fact that to my knowledge, we don't ever learn Antoine's last name, only Evka's.

Like I could ofc be wrong, but regardless of whether he ever had one to begin with, yeah, Antoine would be a guy who takes his wife's name without hesitation. Yeah, he wouldn't care that it's ill-fitting because it's very clearly an Orzammar noble family's name, and he's an Orlesian elf. It's hers, and that makes it more than perfect for him.

Listen, I love the episode “With all my heart”. I love the Dolma; I love how Mordred wants to stay by Arthur’s side, until the end, and wants to prove Merlin wrong; I like how Merlin, Gaius and Arthur collaborate to make Gwen sleep to take her to the Cauldron of Arianrhod; I love what Arthur tells Gwen to make her remember that she loves him and Camelot and his friends.

But.

What Arthur tells Gwen is so… Little? Reductive? Basically… Nothing?!

Like, Arthur has no idea what to say to his wife, who he loves very much, who he has fought for, and just hopes for the best? It works, thank goodness, but what if it didn’t?

And I was just thinking if there had been Merlin instead of Gwen standing there.

Arthur would have probably taken two business days, if not more, just to end the list of things he loves about Merlin, and why he is not actually evil.

Bonus points if Merlin’s magic makes him more safe towards the Mandrake root, so he was already not enchanted anymore, but he waits for Arthur to finish what he has to say about him, only so that he can brag about it later.

After healing Merlin from the enchantment and on the way back to Camelot:
