been thinking about jason being petty towards bruce. like, oh, you spend time with your other kids, but not me? tire privileges revoked! it would be over stupid shit too.
like there’s one time bruce decides to take damien to the movies, and jason is just beside himself.
like the conversation would be like:
JASON: So, let me get this straight—you took Damian to a movie.
BRUCE: He asked.
JASON: Oh, and I wouldn’t have wanted to see Kung Fu Panda 4 with you?!
BRUCE: You were busy.
JASON: Busy taking down a cartel. Which, by the way, I learned from you. I deserve quality time!
BRUCE: Jason—
JASON: No. No excuses. You’ll learn.
Jason storms off. Five minutes later, an alert pops up on the Batcomputer.
BATCOMPUTER: Warning: Batmobile rear tires have been removed.
BRUCE: …Jason.
Cut to Jason outside, rolling two Batmobile tires away, cackling.
#this isn’t the last time jason steals the tires#bruce keeps doing stuff with the other batkids#and Jason is like look at this opportunity#like imagining if tim gets arrested for something bc i mean come on tims a menace#then bruce just bails tim out and just the week before jason was arrested and bruce let him sit in jail for like two days#jason blew up something so like bad jason#either way jason is like i warned you batbitch and he steals the tires from the batmobile again and then who knows what happens to the tires#unfortunately it gets worse#bc bruce then takes dick to a fancy ass dinner#and it’s to one of Jason’s favorite stakehouses#Like it was the only fancy food place he could stand#good steak is good steak#and jason’s like this is crossing a line#so instead of stealing the tires again#he just takes the entire batmobile#how? no one knows#no one sees the batmobile again or the tires#at least until Batman gets a call from various members of the JL asking him why pieces of the batmobile have been popping up in the city#however it’s about the car itself#no one knows where the tires are still#jason calling Oliver up and saying like i don’t like you man but like we both don’t like batman want his tires?#jason todd#bruce wayne#dick grayson#tim drake#dc universe#batman#batfamily#batfam#damian wayne

They are so optimally shaped for maximal cuteness.#That's a creature that was designed to be fluffy and sit on things. What is there to *not* love!#I know there is more significance to the whole exchange but really...I think Lan Wangji deep down just wants to hold cute creatures.#His hands are big and gentle and not meant for swords! I fear that "fire bending didn't come easy to zuko" and "zuko isn't a prodigy" (both true) has somehow snowballed into "zuko is a bad or at best average fire bender".... which simply isn't true, especially by the end of book 3
#it certainly doesn't help that pretty much the only other fire bender that Zuko's consistently contrasted with#is his extremely talented once in a lifetime level of a prodigy sister#but guys he's still very powerful#and I will bravely propose that#after seeing the dragons#and Zuko is no longer relying on his anger and rage to fuel his firebending#its not a coincidence that the next two battles that he has with Azula either#end with a stalemate (both Zuko and Azula use the same move on the airship and notably she's blown back further from it than he is!)#and then him winning (she's lost her stability while he's finally found his)#(side side note: I'm of the camp that Azula targeting Katara in the Agni Kai made Zuko the automatic victor because an Agni Kai is#(should be?)#between only the two partaking in it and Zuko WAS straight up wiping the floor with her until that very moment where she targeted Katara#which you know great play on Azula part she knows how to manipulate her brother cause once she released she was losing the Agni kai#Azula simply made the choice to get the throne via the line of succession lol)#ah well#atla#zuko

it’s wild to me that like every modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes (and by modern I mean “made recently” not “set in modern times”) is like Hell Bent on coming up with a Reason™️ that Watson stays with Holmes and trots around with him on adventures all the time despite the inconvenience and the danger and all, and so it’s like “oh, Watson’s a gambling addict, he loves uncertainty and mystery” or “oh, Watson’s an adrenaline junkie, he gets off on being constantly in danger from criminals” or even like “Watson’s atoning for sins of the past of BEING IN THE WAR by solving crimes with Holmes now” or WHATEVER. And it’s like, girl, maybe he’s just in love! Did you think of that?? Maybe he’s got a crush and it’s making him do stupid things. Maybe he’s just got bad taste and his type is guys who don’t know how to refold newspapers properly but can identify different types of cigar ash by sight, smell, and taste. And wrote a monograph on the subject. Maybe he’s down bad is all. I mean, Keep is simple, stupid!!!
#this whole problem also requires the extra step of making Holmes into someone who’s like actively cruel and terrible to Watson specifically#which like he also isn’t in canon at all#he’d probably be an inconvenient roommate that not everyone would personally want to put up with#but he’s not like endangering Watson all the time and interfering in his affairs constantly#The way writers always adapt him doing#so like it’s a problem they’re inventing and then writing a silly solution for#and no one better come for me for ‘bad taste’ I was trying to be funny and also Holmes is insane#the fact that Watson took one look at him and his bonkers lifestyle and pledged his life to him is just proof that Watson is also insane#in the when harry met Sally way of ‘thank god these two found each other and spared the rest of us the trouble’#anyway this is all part and parcel with the way writers who adapt Holmes don’t understand Watson#and even people who LIKE Holmes and get his deal still rarely get what makes Watson great#BUT that’s an essay for a different time and I won’t get into it now#sherlock holmes#john watson#doctor watson#acd#acd canon#tagging this as canon is sooo silly sorry but I don’t know what else to put#also worth noting that like the idea of working with Holmes as this chronically super dangerous thing is also silly#Like a solid percentage of their cases are solved from the comfort of baker street#there’s definitely some dangerous cases (‘bring your revolver’ is a meme for a reason after all) but like not enough of them#that you can make a strong case for John Watson: Adrenaline Junkie™️#except that modern writers make every case life or death high stakes serious so like….thats where it comes from#ANYWAY

Decided to challenge myself art-wise a little bit and make an illustration for each of the Davechella playlists while listening to them for the first time! These are mostly based on their individual vibe and I try to finish the drawing by the time the playlist ends, so if they look kinda choppy that’s the reason why. So far it's been a ton of fun and I love discovering new songs and rediscovering the characters through them!! Thank u Dave K and Terror Camp <3 (and like half the cast apparently lol I still can’t believe this is happening)

There are so many timeskips within the flashback! My flow and pacing are wheezing!#I loved how this scene starts with the crowd's point of view. The observations and gossip add a lot.#And it helps reposition us to what the external perspective is on these two. Namely that 'they don't get along.'#Tensions are known! Even here in Nouveau Lotus Pier.#Ah...Lan Wangji never got a chance to see the Lotus Pier of Wei Wuxian's childhood and adolescence...did he?#It's not the same. He's not the same. Call them by the same name and people will know what you mean...#...but the first version - the one with the fond memories - is gone for good.#It's sort of interesting isn't it? How names can hold so much power and still be hollow?#We often get stuck over past versions of things. Be it ourselves or other people or places.#Change is scary but the truth is nothing ever stays the same. It's always moving. You're always moving.#It's okay to mourn the past. Maybe it's people you lost or the person you hoped to be. Let yourself feel the grief.#And then? Then you grow around that pain and keep on going. If you feel like you can't - remember you don't have to do it alone.#A side note: Listening to the tossing flowers extra is so essential for this scene. there is just something about the difference between edwin's love interests and having the cat king's reaction to edwin in hell being "i'll be waiting when he gets back" vs charles "no version of this where i don't come get you" rowland convincing a powerful trans-dimensional being to open a door to hell just so he could get him back
