PREV / NEXT / ALL / FIRST (ISAT Sky: Cotl!AU!)
So, first off, if you see any stilistic changes, that's cause yesterday I broke my right arm in a car accident and since i'm right handed everything you see was sketched, drawn and coloured with my left index. Also drawing with one finger is so freaking slow so updates might slow down since my entire arm/wrist will be in a cast for the next month.
Second, thank you @that-sky-kid & @potat-soop for their sky kid submission! Since you both had similar outifit I thought of making you 2 friends in the AU!
Third, I'm making Odile went throught hell, i'm not sorry

Would you happen to have any book recs? 🙂
Maan this is a fun question because... Yes I read a lot but I doubt it's popular literature? 😂 I prefer classic litterature, notably 18th to mid 20th century works, also some fantasy of the 19-20th century too like Lovecraft or Verne.
I'm currently reading "Nausea" by Sartre. Highly recommend, it has a very unique vibe. If you like stilistics I'd recommend authors like Flaubert or Dostoyevsky. If you're into horror H.P. Lovecraft or Aleister Crowley are classics, my fav is "The Lurking Fear" by Lovecraft.
Also I really really love "The picture of Dorian Grey" and anything by Zola.
If you're into more modern and popular but classy stuff, first thing in mind is "The silence of the lambs" by Herris. Latest one I finished was "The history of cannibalism" by Roland Villeneuve. If you like english authors anything by Virginia Wolf is peak.
Dystopian fantasies like "Animal Farm" and "Brave new world" (which i LOVE) are must read in a lifetime.
This was few on the top of my head, I used to read a lot more sci-fi and fae fiction when I was younger but it's not so much of a thing for me anymore, and I can't rly remember the names/authors of all the books I read back then they were so many.. But if you watched Coraline I recommend reading the book too, it's a bit different than the movie, it's short and written in a simple yet eery style.
This is probably not gonna be what you were looking for I'm sorry shhswjsjsjsj I know I give off a goofy flavor bcs I watch cartoons but I am a HUGE nerd for literature and I love love to read all kinds of stuff and writing styles, so u may have made a mistake of asking this w/o knowing😭😅🙏😔
EDIT: WAIT NO I REMEMBERED THIS ONE called "The japanese lover" by Isabelle Allende, I read that a long time ago but it is so rich, it brushes the topic of a polish woman struggling in a marriage without love and coping in an oppressed country during WW2. No spoilers but as title says she actually gets to meet a japanese nazi solder who ironically helps her uncover her sexuality and ability to truly love and be loved. It's one of those few good books that really represents woman's POV in that era. It's much more than this BUT THIS IS VERY GOOD I RECOMMEND

This year I read “Stand Still, Stay Silent” and it was a real complicated experience. I learned about the creator’s whole deal around the same time I started the comic but still decided to go ahead with it. I’m glad I did because I loved the story and world, it spoke to me very personally both thematically and stilistically. But it is disappointing to read the artist’s own views towards her work now, how she views it as sinful and a waste of time. Fan creations have proven themselves more important for this comic than with anything I’ve been a fan of before. A fanfic I read for it really went even deeper and made me love the world and the characters so much more. But there is something sinister in the story of SSSS’s creation, changing and ending and Minna’s conversion. How someone who’s worldview at one point was definitely very close to my own went through such a transformation and became seemingly so bitter about her own art as a result of it. Even though I’m not a fan of her as a person, I recommend reading SSSS for a really unique folkfuturistic adventure story and if you’re interested in what happened to her, then also her conversion testimonial comic. It gave a lot of insight into what’s happened to her but also gives a lot of red flags to look out for in the people around you as well.
