#Steven Luo recast

Someone mentioned Steven Luo recast have their dolls mixed up. Their Yiho sculpt is actually Shiho. And the same with Uhui R, it's actually Huisa. Can anything be done about this? I want to buy my first doll from them but now I'm really unsure. :(

A ver, hoy hay un puterío ESCANDALOSO con respecto a los recasts.

“Resulta que S/L (ChinaBJD, Steven/Luo, “Oueneif”, o llámenlo como quieran), patentó (u “esta en proceso de”) una bocha de BJDs que no son de él (obviamente, las esculturas no son de él, el vende recasts/copias de diferentes marcas). El asunto es que para explicar esto con más facilidad, según las leyes Chinas, no es ilegal hacerlo porque las patentes se reconocen “al primero que las pide” (y las compañías que estaban vendiendo en China u a China a través de sus portales o de sitios de ventas DEBERÍAN haber patentado sus esculturas en China si querían venderlas ahí sin problema, pero como al patentar le tenés que pagar impuesto al estado Chino y las compañías originales NO QUERÍAN PAGAR IMPUESTO al país al que querían venderle, jamás patentaron, las patentes quedaron vacantes y al primero que fué a patentar ese objeto, en este caso S/L, se le otorgo la patente dentro de territorio Chino de forma legal, o sea que “a llorarle a otro santo” si las compañías originales se quisieron ahorrar impuesto y ahora sus BJDs están patentados por S/L). - En breve, S/L no esta haciendo nada ilegal ante las leyes Chinas (de hecho los que hicieron algo ilegal fueron las compañías legitimas al vender sin pagar impuestos), y la patente solo afecta/implica al territorio de China. En el resto del planeta tierra no cambia absolutamente NADA.

La razón por la que S/L esta patentando sus recasts (que en definitiva se ve afectada la compañía original de rebote porque son copias exactas en el mismo material), es para combatir la piratería de “sus copias”, o sea, que venga otro chino y le haga “copias de sus copias a su nombre”. Lo cual era inevitable dado el gran crecimiento que tuvieron sus cuentas y tiendas y el gran número de “proxys” que usa para cubrir sus eventos y producciones. A mas grande la compañía de recasts de S/L, mas empleados y mas potenciales chances de que alguno venda recasts a nombre de él (sin ser el). Porque todos sabemos que la marca “Oueneif” de su tienda esta registrada hace RATO...Ahora todos los antis u “proartistas” (que están en contra de las copias) se rasgan sus vestiduras. Todas las patentes que proceso son de compañías fuera de China (en un %99 porciento) y aun si vivís en China y queres el original, podes hacer como el resto del mundo y usar un agente que te traiga el muñeco de Corea, Japón, etc. Nunca nadie se murió por usar un intermediario si realmente quiere algo. Y las marcas Chinas que no patentaron sus modelos con el gobierno de su propio país para no pagar impuesto... honestamente no tienen derecho a venir a quejarse ahora (supongamos DollZone, que para colmo empezó como vendedores de recasts de Volks y después de buen tiempo sacaron sus propios modelos, si DollZone no patento algo en su propio país para esquivar impuestos, se joden por bol*** en mi mas humilde opinión).

ESE es “el tema del día”. Esa es la gran calamidad del mundo de los BJDs... que en definitiva no paso NADA. Esto solo afecta a residentes de China que vivan en China y quieran “si o si” ORIGINALES, y no es tampoco que “no los van a poder comprar” sino que van a tener que usar un intermediario (supongamos alguien de Tailandia, ponele...) que compre por ellos y se los envíe a China después (por un cargo, como pagamos todos los hijos de vecinos toda la vida).

Ahora por favor sigan con sus vidas y dejen de preocuparse por estas cosas que hay temas harto mas importantes en el mundo. Gracias.“

For 11/11 I bought some doll clothes on AliExpress, because who can resist a sale? After talking to the seller a bit about a custom fit, I realized that the seller was Steven and Luo. I feel weird about it now, but the dresses look so pretty on the listing... I wish they’d do clothing only and not recasting. People have forgiven and forgotten that DollZone used to be recasters, so I’m sure people could forget about S/L.

What's the difference between chinabjd and oueneifs?

History time:

Back in 2011 to at very least 2014, AliExpress just wasn't a thing for recasts. You had to place your recast orders by Skype, mail, MSN at best. Pay by PayPal, and wait.

At that time, there was very limited recast sellers that were shipping worldwide, and the best was known as "S/L" (as if in "Steven Chen & Luo Luigi", although pretty sure they had other names and it was a team involved).

Eventually, that society came to be known as "China BJD", and, not long after, Steven parted from Luo (for business management issues they couldn't resolve, and, are unknown for the rest of the western world, as far as I know at least).

Therefore Steven keep the "China BJD" (best recasts in the market) name, and Luo took the name of "Luo Luigi" (poor random quality for most part).

And it's speculated that the quality issues were the reason why the two split.

Later on, as "China BJD" was a pretty generic name, and other brand new sellers were using it to sell bad quality dolls (by confusing the buyers). Steven Chen an it's team made the name "Oueneifs" and filed as their own. So no one else in China could use such name.

But mostly so people wouldn't be confusing their store for other. Regardless of what antis think, reputation is a thing they take quite seriously.

So basically, if you get the real original "China BJD" store and "Oueneifs" store, are run by the same team (possibly divided in two different teams, but maintaining the quality standards and costumer service they're known for), even if they give priority to the Oueneifs store most times, it's the same group of sellers.

(I've bought a doll from luo a year ago and I currently have another coming in) I've been in the hobby for two years now but I don't know what S/L means? Is that luo or another company, I don't understand lol, sorry

There is a common mistake since the most well know seller it’s S/L (“Steven Chen / Luo”), or “ChinaBJD” as the store it’s called; But, there is another seller who has worst quality called “luo luoigui“, so careful there.

Puedes encontrar a este vendedor en Facebook por el nombre de Jane Liok. Las opiniones sobre sos productos no son tan malas hasta ahora, aun así, hay una chance de que una vez que pagues por tu muñeco desaparezca y no te vuelva a contactar (puedes recuperar tu dinero con una disputa de PayPal pero toma tiempo y es tedioso). Gao Shun es un vendedor no del todo honesto y de practicas algo ‘raras’: Una vez cada tanto decide ‘dejar de hacer/vender recasts’, pero a los pocos días siempre anuncia que ah vuelto al negocio, y ya nadie le cree cuando vuelve a avisar que se va. - Puedes encontrarlo en Facebook por el nombre de Gao Shun. La calidad de sus productos es aleatoria (a veces es buena, a veces es mala). Podrías recibir algo realmente bien hecho u en algunos casos un muñeco completamente diferente al que pediste/ordenaste. - La gente en general se queja de que la resina no es realmente demasiado gruesa donde debe serlo y los imanes son bastante débiles. También ah pasado en ciertas ocasiones que decidió no hacer las muñecas que la gente había pedido y les devolvió voluntariamente sus pagos porque según el “no tenia tiempo” de hacer esas ordenes en ese momento. - En el lado positivo, responde los mensajes de sus compradores generalmente sin problemas y muy rápido (aunque a veces parece ponerse “cariñoso” si sos mujer, si, se que suena extremo pero ah pasado). ESTA TIENDA NO LE PERTENECE A: S/L (Chinabjd), tampoco es confiable. Paso muchas veces que la gente ordenaba un muñeco que en realidad el vendedor no tenia para entregar y terminaba enviando otro completamente diferente. Generalmente va a mentir aunque sea para venderte algo que quizás ni siquiera quieras (ya sea una peluca, un bjd, una capa de silicona para la cabeza del muñeco, ...cualquier cosa). Si le abres una disputa (a través de PayPal) se volverá muy agresivo y desagradable. Su tiempo de espera es muy largo (a veces mas de 2 meses). La calidad de sus muñecos no es buena, puede tener burbujas, rayas, marcas, y algunas partes se rompen con facilidad. - Después de recibir muchas malas reviews, Aliexpress cerro su tienda, pero abrió una nueva a fines de Abril del 2017. La gente que recibió muñecas de ellos esta muy conforme con ellas, la calidad parece ser buena y los imanes son realmente fuertes. Sin embargo la comunicación puede ser algo difícil con ellos. Los tiempos de espera tampoco son súper cortos. Los reviews para esta tienda son en general positivos. Parecen ser buenos vendedores de recasts, es raro que la gente encuentre sus muñecas decepcionantes o que no queden conformes. Sin embargo, la resina puede tener algunas burbujas o rayas/marcas. Las partes finitas pueden no estar debidamente lijadas. La comunicación puede ser buena o mala, no hay una regla o consistencia en ella. Los tiempos de espera no son demasiado largos.

My mother just sent me a screenshot of a doll she bought me, and I realized it was from Steven and Luo, which makes me kind of sad because I want to show off my new girl without being torn apart. I will love her anyways because she was from my mom, who is easily my best friend. But still, I wish there was a place I could show her off without being bullied into submission

Hello Anon, please check the recast master list first to make sure the sculpt you are looking for it’s available (you can find it just by using Google). The best store for recasts it’s still steven and luo, that is Chinabjd8 I think, we hope any helping anon who see this might give you a hand on your search. I need advice. So i plan on buying a BJD and being that i can't afford legit one in my wildest dreams i plan on getting a recast. Since it'll be my first doll i really don't know where can i look for high quality recasts (cause i remember reading people got a recast that missed some parts or was orange instead of tan and stuff like that). I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, but i didn't know where else to go without fear of being bullied for wanting a recast.
