Are castawaydolls and recastheaven dead now? I kept trying to get there by the links you provided in your post, but it never opens ;(
Sorry anon, the other admin isn't available and the description hasn't been updated in a long time.
I think they're on Reddit now..?
But I haven't got the time to check on it for years.
Tumblr media
(might be only my case?, but after so many years, so much info available online for free, and w such a big collection of my own, I found that watching other people getting dolls was making me want dolls that I don't want, I don't need, and aren't even on my wishlist. so the best, given all I know already, covid, and economy was to just stop wishing impulse buying dolls just because. but I know they're still active since another anon asked the other day and was directed to other sites where this groups are now. promise to update the group description asap)

Hi, any recast friendly forums that I can join? The only one I found is closed for registration. :(
Thing is, as we saw with the “SPPOD” (resin-in-my-lungs) drama about her wanting to push her ~now new discovered anti recast “opinions”~ down everyone throats, even when she wasn’t asked, and disregarding the forum rules as if they don’t apply to her. Then Pro recast forums try to be more careful when they let people in that what they used to be a few years back… too many antis go there (to suffer maybe?) and make a huge drama out of “finding pro recast people enjoying the hobby on pro recast forums with their recast dolls” (what a shock right?), so you have 3 mayor well know forums that I’ll list for you and hope the other admin doesn’t gets mad because “C” actually thinks one of this forums it’s “evil” but I’ve being there for some time and even trough it’s a “new forum” I don’t see anything “bad” with it so let’s begin:
1 - CastawayDolls : This might be the oldest of all recast friendly forums out there, I don’t know how’re they doing with registrations and such, but it’s a classic among recast and other dolls owners since they embrace almost every type of doll even the ones considered “off topic” on DOA (by the way, if you have recasts, don’t apply for DeanOfAngels, they’re absolutely antirecast, besides most times they don’t let you in unless it’s by invitation only).
2 - RecastBJDhaven : You can apply there, maybe someone will see the application and just give you “the approve”. But I’ve heard it’s under some sort of maintenance period because Judy (ResinMuse) it’s having some real life things to deal with and it’s not updating so most people there are moving to
3 - RecastSanctuary : ..this is very brand new, came out this year in response of “RecastBJDhaven“ apparently “closing up”. So you might call it like ““RecastBJDhaven 2.0″. Some (like Admin C) have their reservations about it and don’t think it’s a “real forum”, but more like a “trap” to get newbies and tag them as prorecast to exclude from other forums. truth is I’ve being there for months and yet haven’t see anything “weird” so if you sign in and want to be extra careful just in case make a separate username and separate email for this forum and join and don’t share any personal data unless you’re convince it’s cool.

My mother just sent me a screenshot of a doll she bought me, and I realized it was from Steven and Luo, which makes me kind of sad because I want to show off my new girl without being torn apart. I will love her anyways because she was from my mom, who is easily my best friend. But still, I wish there was a place I could show her off without being bullied into submission
Hello anon, there are plenty of places to share your doll. Like http://forum.recastbjdhaven.com/ or http://castawaydolls.com/ . Even open a https://www.tumblr.com/ right here, https://www.instagram.com/ , or you can use https://www.flickr.com/ or find recast friendly facebook groups https://www.facebook.com/ . http://www.deviantart.com/ it’s also an option. And if anyone is giving you a hard time, all this websites have a “block” function for users who might not be nice to you :)

So i got this doll head which I bought as a legit but never got an coa with it and idk, I’m not sure if it’s legit since I don’t have anything to compare it with. Now I wanna sell it because I dont bond but idk how?? I don’t want to sell it for Recast price since I paid legit price but I am scared it turns out to be recast and I charged too much? Pls give me opinions
Hello Anon, first you should try to determine if the doll it’s a recast or not, this will help you on the price range. Try joining forum.recastbjdhaven.com or castawaydolls.com with a new profile if you want and ask for advice. If any other user wants to give this Anon a helping hand, please reblog or leave a comment. Thank you.

I'm new to the hobby and found a cheap doll on eBay & I didn't know it would be a recast. My parents got me her for Christmas and I can't help but feel a little bad because like ??? it's not real and I'll get so much shit for it but at the same time my parents spend a lot of money (90.00) on her so :( what do i do ??? help ??
First of all Anon, you shouldn’t feel bad, either if you decide to beprorecast or antirecast (“pro artist”), you didn’t knew. It was an honestmistake, and whoever can’t (or doesn’t want to) understand it; it’s theirproblem, not yours. Second of all, that doll is real (as real as any legit). The only things youwon’t get are the company box, and a set of papers. Have a lot of legits myself and never usethe boxes or the COAs (“Certificates Of Authenticity”) and the other papers. IfI need to know something about my doll I just google it (if you are afraid ofscrew her up, ask and we will advice you). So it’s not like you’re getting aBarbie “as a bjd”, you are getting a real ball jointed resin doll. It’s arecast?, yes. But that doesn’t make it any less real. If you like it, and if youlove it, that’s the only thing that actually matters.
You won’t get “so much shit for it” if you stay on recast friendly places.Fortunately we are almost entering a new year, and it’s almost 2018. By nowthere are countless recast friendly communities where you can share, interact, talk and socialize with other pro recast people, that, if you stay out the “legitonly” elitist circles, you should be completely fine to enjoy the hobby. If anyone insults youonline, block them and move on, don’t even take the time to reply. They are notworth it. I will list you some forums and places so you know where to start:
Forums: CastawayDolls or Recast Sanctuary
Facebook: You can find groups if you FB search the words“Recast BJD” and look on the “groups” section.
Youtube: pro recast YouTubers can be found by searching“Recast BJD Box opening” on YouTube.
There are also a lot of other places you can open anaccount for your doll, from Instagram to Tumblr or Flickr (if you likephotography, even if you use your cellphone camera you can get cool pictureswithout spending a lot of money). Just make sure you are on recast friendly or “prorecast” spaces, and if anyone is giving you a hard time online, block them andignore them.
You said it yourself; your parents spend a lot of money on her, be happy andgrateful, they are your parents and they spent that money because they love youand want to make you happy. Give your doll a chance to have a caring and lovinghome, and your parents to see that their efforts where good. Many antirecast (“proartist”) will tell you to tell your parents that you realize “this doll is shit”and that you should burn or destroy or throw her away because “it’s garbage”. They are absolutelyinsane from a normal human point of view. Don’t even hang with, or hearthese people “advice”. If you pick her up from hundreds of listings on eBay itwas because you loved that doll, so do just that, receive it and love her. It’snot only your doll but a present from your parents who it’s obvious to me they loveyou and want to see you happy. The so called “ethics” on this hobby are very screw up dear Anon, they judgea person based on how much they can spent, and completely ignore any act oflove like the one your parents did for you. In the end, it’s people you don’t know on theinternet. I know it’s hard to understand if you where born over “the digital era”,but your family it’s way more important than a group of online elitist bullies.
Keep it, love her, be grateful for what your parents have done for you, and(if you excuse my words), fuck the rest of the world.
The doll it’s just asreal and beautiful as it was the day you chose her from eBay. That’s my personal advice to you Anon, hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I would really like to be a part of the pro-recast forums, especially since i just bought my first doll, but i put my application in to castaways several months ago, and they still haven't responded :^/ what should i do?
Have you tried The haven anon?, they’re still a very good forum for pro recast community members. Read for more data here: http://recastconfessions.tumblr.com/ by http://resinmuse.com/

I've been trying to get a recastbjdhaven or castawaydolls account but I'm still waiting for the admins approval? I've been waiting for like weeks it's so frustrating, what should I do? ;A;
Hello Anon, their approval it’s getting more strict due to more antis lurking (passing like pros to expose recast owners later on other sites), but you can ask recommendation from a friend who is already inside the forums or talk about it directly with the admins by email (or try Registering Help).

Are there any other BJD forum sites other than denofangels? I don’t know how their rules go but it think each moderator has their own definition of what their rules are.

not much of a confession. i just wanted to thank you for making this blog, it means a lot. i just got my first bjd, a recast of doll chateau's cyril from s/l and the first look at the community i got really shook me. all this hate.. i was looking forward to sharing and really getting into the hobby and it all seemed so toxic anti-recast. so thank you for this peaceful little blog full of acceptance. do you have any recommendations for more like this on tumblr? maybe not text-only?
Thank you Anon, you can check forum.recastbjdhaven.com (%100 recast friendly) or castawaydolls.com (neutral friendly)
