Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Prodigy s.2, the plot is amazing and the character development is great. But my OTP displaying affection IN PUBLIC is just something that'll keep me going for years 😆😅

I guess it's the perfect time to share this drawing! Prodigy brought me a lot of inspiration. 💙

Being silly, making more banners. Netflix hasn't advertised, so it may be entirely up to us.
Again, please steal if you like. Post everywhere. 🥳

*Prodigy spoilers*
I actually really like how they handled the attack on Mars in Star Trek: Prodigy. Like, it wasn't the central focus by any means, but there were constant references to the Romulan evacuation and how thinly spread Starfleet had become throughout the Federation as something that was just going on in the background. And if you're an absolute timeline obsessive like me, you were just kind of eyeballing the Stardates when they appeared on screen, like, "Oh dear, we're getting pretty close to the point where everything goes wrong, aren't we?" And I almost figured that, maybe they would use some kind of timeline jiggery-pokery to get around it. But then they didn't, and it became what they used to set up the third season, and, ugh, I really love this show.

The way I just teared up when Janeway said in 2x02, "This is Admiral Janeway of the starship Voyager."
I just - I'm so grateful to have my captain back.
And Chakotay called her Kathryn.
13 year-old-me who was fuming after Endgame 23 years ago (and let's be honest, I'm still furious about it) is beaming with happiness right now.
Thank you for making me fall in love with Star Trek again, Prodigy. I've missed being excited about Trek.

Following especially the latest season of Prodigy, I would just like to give a shoutout to Chakotay.
I actually liked him even back in Voyager, although he could definitely have been written better in that show. But then Prodigy came, and despite his limited screen time, that show did him SO well I can still barely believe it. And no, I'm not talking about how unexpectedly hot he looks in a cowboy hat ... That's the bonus cherry on top if anything.
If Prodigy proved anything (besides that it is now one of my favorite Star Treks of all time) is that Chakotay's earned that captain's chair, and so, so much respect.
I love how we get to see him be the selfless, dedicated, strong leader that he is and has always been, entirely disconnected from Janeway or any other legacy character. Now more than ever Chakotay and Janeway are just equally hardcore, badass captains who would give their lives for the greater good in an instant, and that's part of what makes them so great. Their equality, despite the different ranks, really came across in Prodigy more than ever before, which I loved to see.
Honestly, whenever I see Chakotay dismissed as a doormat or "best off as second in command" I just kind of rage a little. Even back in Voyager, it was pretty clear to me that he wasn't (for example, some people seem to forget that he was a captain originally and only became a first officer for the good of the Maquis crew.)
And now that we have Prodigy ... Even though we don't really see much of it on screen (which is a shame), I like reminding myself how, since the launch of the Protostar, he went through 12 (!) more years of (self-)sacrifice and (leadership) hell and managed to come out of that seemingly stronger and more certain of his place and himself than ever.
Even the events of "The Last Flight of the Protostar" aside ... Just think about how many life-altering, defining, difficult choices and sacrifices he had to make in those 12 years.
In the timeline that was averted, he sacrificed his only shot to get back home through the wormhole (the Protostar) to save the Federation from the weapon on board.
In the new timeline, he sacrificed himself by choosing to stay on that planet where he and Adreek landed, also for the sake of protecting the Federation from the weapon on the Protostar.
Chakotay was technically stranded in the Delta Quadrant twice (once with Voyager, once with the Protostar), and despite how abysmally things went on his first command, he never sacrificed his integrity or his dedication to Starfleet's values. He becomes a little grumpy over 10 years in solitude, but honestly, who wouldn't? And then the first thing he does after being rescued is take over Voyager-A and continue his service ... That's some dedication if I've ever seen it. I think he may have wanted to prove something there ... and honestly, he couldn't have succeeded more.
And no, he did not "teach" Dal that his place was "the second in command" ... On the contrary, he very likely showed Dal through his own competence and perseverance that Dal himself was simply not ready yet for such a responsibility.
He's just an extraordinary captain who has gone through things and made choices that very few others could have made. Choices like sending the Protostar back in time, that had the fate of the entire Federation depending on it.
I adore Prodigy in general, but one of the things I adore the most is that it finally shows us more of why Chakotay is not second to Janeway or to anyone. He's his own leader, his own character, and his own captain who deserves so much more acknowledgment.
Although, I still feel that we were robbed of some of Chakotay's best moments by not showing us the arrival of the Protostar on Solum and later the events preceding its (presumably) emergency landing on that planet where it stayed for ten years (honestly, I'd love for future Prodigy seasons to have maybe a flashback episode or two about the Protostar's maiden voyage and Chakotay's arrival on Solum and maybe later on that planet where he was stranded.)
Anyway, long rant over ... All I wanted to say was that Chakotay has more than earned the command of Voyager-A; seeing him in that chair made me very happy, I won't lie.
And I really hope if/when Prodigy gets more seasons, he'll be a more major character because he deserves a more central role.

I’m a little over halfway through season two of Prodigy.
This show is a delight!
It’s almost as if 20 episode seasons allow time for true character development! And allows us to get to know the characters better and care what happens to them!
I’m in my forties and I just shed tears over them finding the Bird Man and laying him to rest on this animated “kid’s show”. And those kids giving Chakotay hope again. I was also genuinely surprised and delighted to see Wesley Crusher! 💖
If you’re a Trekkie and you’re not watching Prodigy, you’re missing out!
Also I had a major crush on Chakotay back when Voyager first aired and animated DILF Chakotay can get it. 🥵😍😂

This is how it felt watching Star Trek Prodigy Season 2 and seeing The Doctor mention the Cerritos as a ship filled with chaotic weirdos that somehow thrive regardless.

Can we just give a Round of Applause to Michaela Dietz for her Outstanding Voice Performance as Maj'el in Star Trek: Prodigy S2? Because, she nailed it as a Vulcan not showing any kind of Subtle Emotions or Expressions whatsoever in her voice to actually sound like a Vulcan would do.
Also, Michaela Dietz has also voiced Amethyst in Cartoon Network series - Steven Universe, Vee in Disney Channel Series - The Owl House, Darryl McGee in The Ghost and Molly McGee, Ariel and Tilly in Nickelodeon Series - Middlemost Post and Wallace in Baby Shark's Big Show.

Go watch Star Trek Prodigy, it´s awsome
Here be spoilers, I guess
With everthing going on at the moment I really needed a lot of distraction and binged Star Trek: Prodigy season 2.
And it is awesome. Really good. Story wise the best Star Trek I have seen in years, if not ever. It masks as a childrens show, as many good shows do, and it certainly is fun for (older! Those monsters are scary!) children, they just can´t appreciate the details of it all.
This was made by hardcore fans. They watched every show, read every book, comic, leaflet, fanfic that was ever written, they played the games and assembeled the models. Then they put it all together, wrote an amazing script, hired every Star Trek actor they could find and animated it with an obviously much higher budget than season 1.
There are so many easter eggs, you have to watch it three times to even scratch the surface. I certainly didn´t get half of it (which is mainly because I pretty much stopped watching after voyager and only kind of sampled the new shows). There a obvious things, and there are things like naming the new vulcan character Ma´jel. I only got that after looking for fanfiction (as one does) and saw it written for the first time. Speaking of names, theres a humpback whale on the new Voyager, and their name is Gillian (I got that one)!
There´s Catherine Janeway. I love her. There´s Janeway and Chakotay being lovey-dovey like in the series, before it went all to shit in the last season (I was so mad. They were my OTP before I even knew what that was. Seems I was not the only one).
There´s Wesly Crusher. I had a crush on him when I was 17 and I still have a crush on him now when I´m 47, and it´s "just" Wil Weatons voice and an animated character in a cableknit jumper. With me being aro ace that is really an accomplishment (mind, I have a crush on Wesley, not on Wil). His story arc is great!
The story is really good. It´s so tight-knit, that you kind of jump in at the beginning and come out dazed and delighted at the end. The young protagonists are exactly that - young, enthusiastic, sometimes brilliant and sometimes very dumb, carrying the plot with ease (they are also very much traumatised from their life before, but doing their best in all circumstances).
Of course there are also thing I did not like that much, like the Vau N'Akat, who got a bit too much spotlight (kinda like the Klingons in DS9), or the animations, which were, as said, much better than in season 1, but still weirdly clunky sometimes.
But still, a very good series. It´s the kind of Star Trek I want to watch - lovingly written, well acted, weird and funny and sad. And full of hope. No, not just hope, certainty, that it will get better.
Go watch it, I want season 3.
