"On Naboo. What's it like?"
Padmé could hardly even register the question, [ ... ] "Oh, it's very... very green. You know, with lots of water, and trees and plants everywhere. It's not like here at all."

Ga'hah Guide Book : Part I
Tumblr media
An introduction:
Ga'hah is a small planet near the outer rim. Being tidal locked, the planet doesn't experience a day/night cycle, instead, it is divided into a light half and a dark half. A massive mountain range marks the equator line between these two extremes.
Ga'hah has three moons. The main moon, Horula, dwarves the other two which orbit around it. Time on Ga'hah is usually told by the positioning of the two smaller moons around Horula. The small blue moon is named Erolis, and the orange is called Carino. The moons markedly are not named according to usual Ga'haiian structure, suggesting the names' origin being more rooted in nature and elements rather than gods and legends.
The storm Meha’klei, is a different matter, drawing its name from a mother god that spat life of Ga'hah into existence in the form of rain. The system is a permanent storm spot hovering over the Eastern spread of the equator range. Though the storm itself is violent, its outer bands lend beauty to the landscapes carved from the violent downpour.
The Meha'klei of legend is wife to Be'llahl, the god who gave birth to culture and pleasure. He is the main deity of Ga'hah and the source of their self indulgent views and way of life. The creed is to do things simply because it brings you happiness in some way. You won't find a Ga’haiian praying to their deity to save them or to bless their crops, those are important matters you need for survival. That's not what the cult of Be'llahl is about. They'll pray that a meal is delicious, that a sexual encounter is satisfying, that they might get a day off to do absolutely nothing.
Though the cult preaches pleasure above all things, it's not without its limits. To take away another's pleasure on purpose is a cruelty. As with any belief, people will twist the virtues to suit themselves, but the rule of mutual benefit is generally believed and accepted. It is in fact heralded as the true challenge of the pleasure faith, to find the balance where everyone is enjoying themselves.
Polycules were  the standard for Ga'haiian relationships, breaking into new clans with each generation instead of couples. However, over a thousand years of trade with other planets has shifted the culture slightly to a more conformed view of pairings. The practice of monogamy does not always blend well with Ga'haiian sensibilities.
The Ga'haiian people are stratified between the poor colonies of the Southern dark side and the elitist rich Northern city state of Sohn.
Sohn was built surrounding the Trimecca farms, giant, hollow pyramids that filter the harsh light from the sun to perfectly grow a dense variety of crops in the controlled environment. Though revolutionary, the farms block the stronger rays of sun from reaching the mountain valley’s, destroying the ecology over thousands of years. The resources created by the agricultural wonders give Sohn a monopoly over the flow of food and materials on Ga’hah.
Sohn has been influenced by the galaxy at large, adopting both Republic and Separatists ideas in order to appear more influential and accepted while still maintaining a sense of superiority.
Speaking of which, the Sohnese have a cast system not practiced in the general populace of Ga'hah based on blood purity. Pure blooded nobles will have blue markings under their eyes. Humans with partial Ga'haiian will be marked in red. Part Ga'haiian hybrids will be marked in Yellow.
Ga'haiians are a genetic variant of humans. The common visage of a Ga'haiin is dramatically tall, a female generally being 6' - 6'5" and males 6'5" -7'5", tanned, with pure white hair. Their pigmentation is adaptive as a result of the extreme light/dark nature of the environment. The olive tone will lighten to almost white after a few days with out direct sun, and darken to a rich golden tan in only a few hours of UV exposure. Each individual has an upper and lower limit to how light or dark their skin will get.
When a Ga'haiian has a child with someone with out the genome variant it causes a few genetic glitches. Part Ga'haiians will be shorter, with splotches of black in their hair. This hair color pattern is known as "Ga'haiian Calico" and is harshly judged in Sohn City.
Blue Sohnese will usually only bare children with other pure blooded Ga'haiians, though some child bearing marriages to outsiders have occured- usually for influence off planet. The resulting half-blooded noble children will either be marked red, to be a secondary partner to a blue, or as a yellow, strictly a servitude position in a blue household.
There has never been a Ga'haiian jedi, and force users are not common on the planet. The ways of the Jedi are antithetical to Ga'haiian culture, who believe that attachment is what makes life worth living and anything and everything is worth being attached to. A Ga'haiian's opinion of a Jedi will range from thinking them foolish to hostile superiority. A family approached by the Jedi counsel would be horrified by their proposal, seeing it as an offer to emotionally castrate their child. If a Jedi were to hail from the "Pleasure Planet," they would have to turn their back completely on the culture of their home world.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+
Ga'hah and Ga'haiian's are open for use in other fan works.
If there's any questions or you'd like a bit of this expanded I'll do a part 2.

Skeleton Crew Ep 1&2 spoilers…
Aldhani is totally fine. Fine, I tell you! “A sulphurous bog world” is exactly the sort of rude joke the English fire Scotland’s way all the time. It’s quite possibly something Nick Frost would’ve improvised. And even in Andor the Imperials complain about how it all smells.
Besides, there’s something rather fishy about the time in the series anyway. The droid’s memories could be pre-Imperial.

Ga'hah guidebook part 2: Culture Expanded
Tumblr media
Fashion Trends
Ga'haiian fashion has few divergences between male and female attire. Modern clothing trends on the pleasure planet will feature high collars, plunging necklines, and bold prints. Bottoms will have low riding waist bands often cut to dip towards the pelvis and high slits in the skirts. Tops differ, with men often having quarter sleeves and longer hems while women frequently have sleeveless cuts with draped adornments over the arms. Tight, body hugging fabrics are most common- cotton is traditional but has expanded to silks and latex based textiles.

The divergence of male and female fashions as the culture moved to woven, plant based textiles
Ga'haiians generally wear their hair long and braided, though not strictly in modern times. Those with Calico patterning attempt to hide the streaks as best they can with the elaborate braid work. Men however still generally practice the tradition of weaving gold rings into their braids. The rings are adorned with colored threads signifying their family lineage and/or clan affiliations. This is a hold over from men braving the vicious local fauna to travel between settlements. The ribbons would help signify friend from foe ... Or to help identify remains since they wouldn't break down in a cockerex's stomach.

Examples of how clan rings might be incorporated into braids
Clans are also known for sharing tattooed markings. This isn't as commonly practiced as it used to be since clans aren't legally recognized by the ruling Sohnese government.

Naming Conventions
Ga'haiians have very unique names from one individual to another, this comes from names for children being a combination of their parents. There's no typical gendered names. Classically, a female child will be given the first halves of her parents names, the mothers first; a male child would be vise versa, the second half with the father's first. If a parent isn't of Ga'haiian decent the first or last syllable will be adapted.
Examples:
Female Configuration-
Nyem'tok Ra (father) + Tahki Nygun Ra (mother) = Tah'nyem Ra
Male Configuration-
Yun'jar Saijen (father) + Nul'ath Saijen (mother) = Jar'ath Saijen
The naming convention was a way to signify biological parentage in polyamorous clans. Though Ga'haiians are well aware that a child has two physical parents, it's believed that offspring absorb a small amount of "Ku" (abstract translation: soul, heart, life force, spirit) from every partner the parents are involved with during pregnancy. Promiscuity often increases while with child, a tradition rooted in the belief that the more Ku absorbed, the more interesting and well rounded the individual that is born becomes. Older generations will often tut and complain that the cultural shift towards monogamy is the reason for younglings, "being so dull these days."
The Sohnese follow these guidelines strictly, touting that the names help track the bloodlines back through the ages with some influential families claiming that they can trace their names back to the original syllables from Ga'hah's first people. This is not entirely possible, though the planet's history is well documented as far as historians know the original syllables are long lost.
Modern Ga'haiians are less strict about where they take their syllables from. It could be any family member, a friend or just a word they like.
The gods of Ga'hah are implied to have two parts themselves, though those "parents" are abstract concepts like existence, love, ennui, the void etc.
Influential Figures
Nyem'tok Ra
Nyem'tok is a self made Sohnese noble, making moves from a young age to gather wealth. He made most of his money managing brothels in Nohct. Once he controlled the majority of the sex work on Ga'hah the Sohnese were put into a position to accept him into their ranks, other wise be shown up by a commoner. This being one of the rare acceptances where ink was applied later in life. Though accepting him into their ranks, the Sohnese still look down upon him for gaining his wealth in the flesh trade supporting workers rather than through the usual aspects of casinos and control of resources. To further insult the Sohnese, Nyem'tok married off world into the wealthy Nygun family furthering his interests into the core worlds of The Republic, most notably obtaining control of The Red Spire on Coruscant. Endearing himself into the social and political scenes he developed a reputation with many members of the Galactic Senate. During the rise of The Empire the neutral planet of Ga'hah was absorbed early, with Nyem'tok named as it's governor- a reward for his loyalty during the war.
The Carysio Family
The richest family on Ga'hah; Owns half the casinos on the planet, including the pod racing track. Made their money controlling the mines in the West. The Carysio's are the most put out by the Empires seizure of the planet. They had originally closed the mineral mines in order to choke the supply and gouge the prices.
The Duhanis Family
The Duhanis family own the rest of the casinos and roughly 30% of main exports from the Trimecca Farmlands. They're the second richest family on the planet. Their eldest son Bly'ju is known for making a fool of himself in his pursuit of claiming the half-breed Ra daughter, a venture he feels too invested in to give up on.
Jar'ath Saijen
The Katjryl hybrid Jar'ath Saijen is known for his strong personality and sense of wit. However, his half-breed status and that of a non human variety marked him into a position of servitude since birth. Defensively abrasive he kept most trade offers at bay. This wasn't a difficult a task to begin with since the Sohnese generally think of the Katjryls that settled on Ga'hah to be unseemly, ignoring that their homogeny to Ga'haiian culture is why the species managed to find refuge on the planet thousands of years ago. Jar'ath formed a fast friendship with Tah'nyem Ra during childhood and the two became thick as thieves, running rebelliously through the estates of Sohn with reckless abandon. The two formed the platonic clan of two called The Diamond Dolls, later expanded to three with the adoption of Kahtzi Zho. The three bare a small diamond star tattoo behind their right ears, and Jar'ath wears teal blue strands in his hair ring to show affiliation. Using his connections with the Ra family, Jar'ath made a name for himself as an entertainer hosting shows and events. If you're involved in the social scenes of Ga'hah, then you know the name Jar'ath Saijen.
Tah'nyem Ra
The daughter of clan Ra is both lucky and unlucky. Her calico patch is large, covering almost the entire back of her head, but easy enough to cover. Her family kept the black hair shaved and her hair long to keep it covered. The illusion didn't hold long after puberty when Tah'nyem stayed relatively diminutive in stature. Half Ga'haiians usually can still grow to be between 5'7" - 6'2" but the girl stopped at a puny 5'2". After her inking ceremony, Tah'nyem Ra cut off her hair, leaving the swatch of black perfectly visible.
The Ra daughter is an eccentric. Shunning modern fashions for clothes custom made to reflect historical styles. (Boat neck and draping napkin hems as opposed to high collars and plunging neck lines.) She's also known for wearing the traditional ceremonial ink of Be'llahl priests. (In essence it's like wearing a latex nun costume in public)
Being small and outlandish didn't gain her much favor as a young girl in Sohn, her and her friend drawing much unkind attention. The eldest Duhanis son once got a bloody nose standing up for her and has considered her in his debt ever since. It's well known as the reason for why he pursues her so viciously.
