i'm just going to go ahead and make this its own post. when kirk teases spock he is SO GENTLE. "why mister spock are you feeling emotion?" and he lets spock do the vulcan equivalent of giggling and kicking his feet and going "haha nooo silly i'm a VULCAN i don't do that!!" and kirk's like "oh my apologies mister spock of COURSE not" and then they make consensual loving eyecontact with one another while smiling. when BONES senses blood in the water (spock having an emotion) he will grab spock by the scruff of his fucking neck and shake until dead. like a dog with a squirrel.

i love ‘jefferies tubes’ as a piece of star trek canon... like i just think the most satisfying trek honor would be to have a commonly used piece of starship design named after you and for it to sound like a real thing

By far my most beloathed forced het pairings are ones where the characters originally had an extremely crunchy delicious antagonistic dynamic that hinges on the woman outwitting him to achieve her own romantic desire (which is explicitly, necessarily Not Him,) and then some assholes ruin it forever by making an adaptation where she’s in love with him. If this sounds hyper specific it’s because I just realized I was betrayed in the EXACT SAME WAY by Holmes/Adler and Spock/T’Pring

my friends and i have been watching the star trek movies and i have soooo many thoughts about first contact but its been like 3 years since i watched the borg episodes in tng and im like. fuck do i need to rewatch those rq to figure out if my faint gripe with first contact is valid or not? shit, man

the thing about star trek is i don't watch it to see a group of plucky gun loving cadets save the galaxy or something i'm watching it to see the unlucky nerd of the week face their mortality in a way that is so fucked up and creepy. or to perform in community theater or go to therapy over confidence issues or play trombone or something
