I think for Hunter and Fives/Echo I just went crazy but for all the rest lmk if u can spot who I stole the outfits from, i deadass dont remember at this point For Background art I found them all on google images - from what I recall, it's mostly concept art and screenshots from games! -ENGINE I made this in Twine, an incredible tool for making text-based games! I highly recommend looking into it. It's really easy to use and there are a ton of tutorials online!

I like to think these two missed the call to adventure with the rest of the LU Chain (by which I mean: they don’t show up in Linked Universe), for different reasons :). More about them under the cut!

Spirit willingly gave up his hero title at the end of ST, and now considers himself an engineer first and foremost. When the LU Chain met him in his era, he turned them down— he’d rather focus on his duties at home, and he’s confident the others can handle the adventure without him.

It’s a mystery exactly what Silent has been up to since Echo was cursed. This art depicts how he was when Echo last saw him before she fell asleep. The Chain hasn’t been to his era yet.

Bonus: Silent wears blue because of Lueburry and the Might symbol, but making him blue also has the cool effect of the new Downfall Trio wearing one outfit each of red/blue/green, with Legend=Power, Silent=Wisdom, and Hyrule=Courage.

Also, special shoutout to @raycatzdraws and @snowylynxx for their own designs of Spirit from years ago! Definitely took inspiration from those; everyone, please go check out their art!

And there it is! This took me like 7 hours to finish but I’m really proud of it!

Honestly, since I played the Witcher wild hunt I always had in mind to recreate some St. George’s art (the dragon slayer) but with geralt. I also really really love Christian and medieval art so I made this! I guess you could call it a little tribute to a game/ book and character that helped me so much in this last year.

The costume design for Alfred

They said they wanted to see Alfred in purple/gold tones, so I self-indulgently designed a costume for Alfred (though again not necessarily trying to be historical accurate)

Details for archaeology nerds (So it happens again I guess)

1. The tablet-woven bend

Design is loosely taken from an actual archaeological find from the Taplow Barrow in Buckinghamsire, dating to the early 7th century. The original piece really had the gold threads on it by the way. You can see the modern reconstruction here.

2. Pattern on the tunic

Taken from a part of an arcade illustration in the Royal Bible (Royal 1. E. vi, 4r.) c. 1000-1025 in British Library, London. Added some vine patterns that are quite common to see in insular art for reasons.

3. Pattern on the shawl

Taken from a part of the stole and the maniple in St. Cuthbert’s coffin, dated to early 10th century, now in Durham Cathedral Museum.

4. Embroidery on Alfred’s sleeves

The pattern is from an illustration in the manuscript of Bede’s Life of St Cuthbert (MS 183, f. 1v) c. 937 in Parker Library, Cambridge, which depicts King Æthelstan showing the book to St Cuthbert himself.
