Silly AU idea where as MK gains powers, SWK looses his. The stronger MK gets, the weaker SWK gets.

Silly AU idea where SWK eventually fades into nothing due to MK growing into his powers- because he’s unknowingly taking Wukong’s powers, including his immortality. SWK knows this, and he doesn’t tell his apprentice that he’s slowly killing his mentor. MK doesn’t figure this out until Wukong has seemingly fallen ill, after it’s been too late. He can’t put the powers back, not that SWK wants them, he’s lived a long life. He’s old. Tired.

Memory is such a fickle thing; the way in which it is so easy to mess with what you think you remember is insane. Rather it be accidentally or on purpose, memories become easily distorted, especially over time. Especially if you have someone telling you that you remember wrong or bait you to make up details without realizing. You tend to truly remember how you felt, not always what actually happened. What someone think happened could of never happened at all, or happened completely differently.

Which is why I genuinely love these characters recalling memories so differently! They aren’t lying- or well, they’re not trying to at least. That might be what they genuinely thought happened/ how it happened. Relying solely on memories will always lead to unreliable narrators. But to me, that’s what’s fun about it- you gotta put the puzzle together to try and figure out what actually happened. Why they remember it as they do. Gah, psychology is just so fun to me

lego monkie kid and the fallibility of memory... SWK having nostalgic depression over the past. DBK abandoning his ring of samadhi vs holding on to it. macaque and azure having extremely different recollections of how SWK left the brotherhood. the scroll that uses memories of the past (biased or unbiased?) as punishment. LBD threatening to "erase the very memory of you."

IM AT SUCH A CROSSROADS-

Thomas is such a talented individual, to the point he can just sound slightly different and we as fans can recognize that he’s acting as different characters.

I KNOW he’s talented enough to pull off badass works of art, especially when it comes to Sanders Sides.

Now all of a sudden, after making MASTERPIECES like the Into The Unknown cover, and SVS (part 1 and 2) AND WTIT, he can’t make a decent Sides vid?

I love the new vid, don’t get me wrong. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I will love Thomas’ work regardless of what it is.

However, the HUGE downgrade NEEDS to be talked about.

So let’s discuss my thoughts on the uproar of anger at this new episode.

First and foremost, the makeup. It TANKED. Just look at this- How did Janus and Virgil go from this -

TO THIS???

Like, Thomas what happened. I can 100% understand that Janus’ scales are far from easy to do, so his is more understandable, especially bc he has a new makeup artist. It just looks like it’s the artists first attempt?? If that makes sense??

On the other hand, I have NO experience in makeup, absolutely zero. Yet, I still think I could manage to do Virgil’s makeup- it’s one step.

The writing was so off this whole episode too. Roman was almost unrecognizable until the other sides appeared- like why was he so out of character-

Janus’ whole character was so complex, and I loved it, and then this asides episode came out and he’s suddenly just a sassy wine aunt. What did they do to my boy?

THE BIGGEST THING THAT TRIPPED ME UP THO.

Why does this episode exist?

We already talked about how anxiety will look different to other people. YEARS AGO actually. VIRGIL WAS THE FIRST TO SAY THAT. And yet we are here. Why?

GRGRGGRGR IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY- I JUST WANT SANDERS SIDES CONTENT, BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE QUALITY DROPPING. I will gladly wait these nearly four years for an episode, but if the quality looks like THIS, I don’t want it. I don’t want the season finale that badly. Quality over quantity, Thomas.

Franky Franklin Appreciation Post

I'm here to spread appreciation for a certain curly haired honorary uncle, because without him literally none of Spy x Family would have happened (and he deserves to be recognized...and have a girlfriend...and money).

Before y'all go "Well, duh, Twilight would have never gotten his information if not for Franky" or "Twilight could easily do everything by himself," I want to clarify that Twilight would not even be a spy if not for Franky.

Twilight would likely either still be known as Roland Spoofy or dead if he hadn’t stopped himself from shooting Franky.

Why?

Because Twilight only found his friends because of the injuries he sustained when the Ostanians caught up to him and Franky. He was put on cooking duty, because he was taken off the front lines.

And if he hadn't reunited with his friends, Military Intelligence would have never found out his true name and that he faked his age to join the army. The spy we saw in ch 62 would have never approached him, because he would have thought that "Roland" was your average soldier. Twilight would have never gotten blackmailed into joining WISE.

Franky is literally the reason why all of these events even occurred - not to mention that he was also the one that made [Redacted] begin questioning everything.

Most of Operation Strix comes from Twilight's work rather than Franky's, but it would have never even started if not for him.

And sometimes, I wonder if Twilight ever realizes/will realize that.

Twilight only ever really admits that Franky is useful and has never outwardly called him a friend (I don't think anyway) but relies on him heavily, even drinks with him when Franky is having a bad time (even though he disguises it as him wanting a drink too and meeting him was just a coincidence. King of Denial, Twilight is).

Twilight has Franky to thank for his life pretty much, and it's likely that the other way around is true too, even though it may be a lot less obvious or severe.

These two were just destined to be friends apparently. And, that’s great.

So in conclusion, Franky changed everything so we could meet Anya and Twilight/Loid could meet his (likely to be beloved) wife, Yor.

Seriously. If TwiYor have any biological children, the reason for their existence would be Franky.

...Also, Franky is also kind of the reason TwiYor exists, because he was the one to tell Twilight that Anya didn't look like the daughter of an affluent family from the way she was dressed.

Every path leads to Franky.

so, uhh Spoilers for the chapter but ramble below the cut because feels:

So about midway through writing this chapter I heard the news that Lego Monkie Kid was no longer going to be worked on by Flying Barks and instead by a studio called WildBrain. Not going to lie it was very sad hearing that information but not long after I got to the part of my story where Wukong finds out Monkey King is dead and Wukong is forced to live try and live up to past self by saving the day. It was here I took note of how similar the two situations were; Flying Barks was essentially the Monkey King to WildBrain's Wukong. People love Flying Barks, they have amazing animation, and a wonderful team, and we as a fandom couldn't have a better team working on the show. But unfortunately Flying Barks got taken away from us and now we're stuck with quite possible a less that great replacement. And that sucks! It really does. But after really looking at my au and the similarities some of it has to our real world situation I started seeing things a bit differently. Sure, the studio we loved has now moved on and we're stuck with a rough around the edges new guy who could use some practice but looking at where Wukong in this au ends up I can help but feel a small glimmer of hope. Look this show is great guys, but don't let this new thing break you too badly. Because as the great Spoofy (@/spoofyleaf) once said: " This murder monkey is out here connecting people and cultures. Inspiring thousands to not only create, but accomplish great things. We collectively said “I know you’re just a silly story, but we will keep your memory immortal, for you have taught us too many things to put to words.” " We might never get back what we once had but we have something new now, and who knows... maybe in the end things will turn out alright.

TL;DR: All this to say, Flying Barks might be working on new things now, but we, the fandom, are still here. Despite our many, many squabbles lol. Goodbye Flying Barks, hello WildBrain :3

Ah, hello there Sunny Simp~ It sounds like you're really busy! Moving is always chaos in my opinion, I have vowed to avoid it as much as I can lol. That said, good luck in powering through the chaos and emerging freshly moved in one piece hehe

I'm happy for you that you found someone you like! If you're really hitting it off and can talk about things you both like then that's a really good start. I have a microscopic amount of experience romantically, so all I can do is shake pompoms for you on the sidelines hehe.

Rodimus' Room Rumble has been fun to work on. I had lots of fun with Bob's freaky insecticon jaws, though I admit I had intended to draw something a little less spoofy and more serious hehe. Like full fight scenes with cool transitions that instead devolved to "ENTER BOB". I will have to be nicer to Rodimus after that, the next room rumble match will have less horrific Bob moments.

Do you think in season 5 he’ll have a conflict of staying tf away from society (like Wukong on ffm), or continue to Show Up because things are going to happen anyway and it would be much worse to not show up and help if he knows things will happen either way?

Like do you think we’ll get the “is me simply being here what’s causing chaos? Should I go hide far, far away? Or will things continue to happen without me here, and I just so happen to stumble across them right before they become serious- so should I stay and continue to fight? Are all my attempts to save the world futile- is it doomed to begin with, am I really making a difference?”

also isn’t it funny how mk blames himself for causing all of the conflicts in the show, or at least being a part of why they happened, and that’s why ink mk calling him a “harbinger of chaos” got to him so much?

the merriam webster dictionary defines harbinger as “a person or thing that announces or signals the approach of another.” isn’t it funny how harbingers don’t cause the things they announce? he doesn’t need to cause chaos- it follows him, whether he likes it or not.

i’ve posted before about the things mk blames himself for not really being his fault at all. but then again, if they were his fault, he’d at least have some sort of agency in this whole thing- but they weren’t, and he doesn’t.

being doomed to cause chaos is one thing- but being doomed to be there? to have it follow you? to be as powerless to stop it as the first fallen leaf is to stop autumn? that’s something else entirely.

I finished the first chapter of the mlp fic and I’ll post it this evening but oh my gosh I really can’t believe I’m actually writing this thing.

I rewatched some sanders sides episodes, and noticed how Thomas is slowly losing his temper more and more throughout the series and I don’t think it was just coincidence they did that-

In SVS part 1, he gets frustrated with Patton because he himself feels lost, and Patton starts to agree with Janus. (Hence why Patton immediately flipped and decides he’d continue to defend Thomas despite not knowing what he’s doing.)

In DWIT, he’s upset because he got no sleep and is now dealing with the mess that is Remus on top of juggling Patton and Virgil who will not shut up about how “evil” his thoughts were. (Anyone would be frustrated at this tbh, I know I would.)

In SVS Redux (or SVS part 2), his anger hits its peak and he’s throwing around “F bombs” and getting frustrated at Patton throughout their whole discussion. It isn’t until Patton becomes Lilypadton that he pulls back a little.

In WTIT, Thomas has small outbursts with Logan because of his fear and intrusive thoughts (thanks Remus-), and eventually gets so angry at Nico not replying that it relays into Logan, causing Logan’s “orange blow up”.

He’s just showing more and more signs of fear and anger and I think it’s on purpose. I have thoughts-
