NOTABLE TRACKS INCLUDE: "LOW FIVE," "CUTE SUSHI LUNCHES," "TEN TO TWENTY," "SPLINTER," & "HALF LIFE."
PIC(S) INFO: Mega spotlight on complete package design to "Splinter," the second studio album by English electronic/trip-hop band SNEAKER PIMPS, released in October 1999 through record labels Clean Up and Virgin.
ALBUM OVERVIEW: "SNEAKER PIMPS followed the debut success of "Becoming X" with the different, yet strangely familiar, "Splinter." Kelli Dayton, whose haunting vocals made songs like "Spin Spin Sugar" and "6 Underground" so evocative, is no longer with the group.
While this takes the listener a few moments to re-adjust -- Dayton's voice was, after all, what made SNEAKER PIMPS so accessible -- this album is still worth the effort. "Splinter" is a superb disc, full of trancey, edgy psychedelia, interspersed with moments of blistering rock. The new vocalist, Chris Corner, is not nearly as good a singer as Dayton, although his breathy -- and at times whiney -- vocals suit these songs well.
Although the comparisons with PORTISHEAD, MASSIVE ATTACK, and GARBAGE are inevitable, the SNEAKER PIMPS have created an intricate album of trip-hop that is every bit as original as any of their contemporaries. While "Splinter" may not have the standout singles that "Becoming X" had, it's pleasantly low-key and occasionally brilliant."

"YOU SAY THE SNEAKER PIMPS ARE LIKE A DIFFERENT BAND SINCE THE DEPARTURE OF SINGER KELLI."
PIC INFO: Spotlight on a print advertisement promoting the UK tour for "Splinter," the then newly-released second studio album by English electronic music group SNEAKER PIMPS, released on 25 October 1999 through labels Clean Up and Virgin Records.
Q: "Where were you when you penned your last lyrics? Can you reveal some of what you wrote?"
LIAM HOWE: ''On a train back to my house. I cannot reveal anything due to embarrassment.''
Q: "Someone called Lynsey left this question to put to you on the V99 website: why did Kelli Dayton really leave, and how have you fared without her?"
LIAM: ''Because we asked her to. We're fairing super-cool.''
Q: "You say the SNEAKER PIMPS are like a different band since the departure of singer Kelli. With guitarist Chris Corner now taking on this additional role, what changes can we expect from your live set?"
LIAM: ''The whole live machine is now a dynamic-sex-event-music-group."
Q: "Is there any special material you'll be including in your V99 set?"
LIAM: ''A track, "Splinter," is always a major buzz bomb."

Single Dad!Eddie x Fem!ReaderSeries
Day 11 of TUI-Mas
Warnings: pregnancy, Reader has a baby bump and stretch marks (briefly mentioned), talk of insecurities
WC: 1.2k
A/N: this was inspired by an ask that I got for Eddie feeling so grateful when he witnesses a sweet moment between Ms. Sweetheart/Reader and Harris, but I can't find who sent it. If it was you, thank you!
November 1999
“Har? You ready for bed?”
Harris nods, peeling back his Spider-Man comforter and slipping beneath the covers. He points to the laminated list that’s Velcroed to the back of his door. You run your finger down the column where he’s used the dry erase marker to check off each task in his routine: shower, comb his hair, brush his teeth, pee, and change into his pajamas.
“Nice job!” You walk—though at this point in your pregnancy, it’s a bonafide waddle—from the doorway towards the small bookshelf in the corner of his room and pluck the newest Magic Treehouse from its spot. Removing the bookmark, you cautiously lower yourself onto his bed, resting your free hand on your belly to keep steady.
He snuggles into you, head nestled against your arm as you read aloud. “Chapter four,” you begin, but before you can continue, Harris speaks.
“Mommy?” His voice is tiny, very much unlike his usual boisterousness, and you can’t help but feel worried.
You brush an unruly lock of his hair from his forehead. “What’s up?”
Harris pauses for a moment, singular front tooth scraping over his bottom lip anxiously. “What if Baby Brother doesn’t like me?” His hazel eyes are shiny with incoming tears. “What if he doesn’t think I’m a good big brother?”
Your heart splinters into a thousand pieces when you hear the concern in his voice. “Oh, Har,” you murmur, shifting your weight to find a more comfortable position, “he’s going to love you. More than that; he’s going to look up to you. You’ll be his role model.”
“But I don’t know how to be a role model.” He keeps his gaze trained on the webbing shooting from Spider-Man’s fingers. “An’ everyone keeps saying that being a big brother is a really important job, but I’ve never been one before! What if I’m not good at it?”
You consider your words for a moment. “Can I tell you a secret?” you finally ask, softly smiling when his attention immediately snaps back to you. “Do you remember when I was your teacher, and you wanted me to be your mommy?”
“Mhm. An’ now you are.”
“And now I am,” you agree with a laugh. “But when your dad and I first started talking about me being your mommy, I was so scared.”
Harris’s eyes widen in disbelief. “You were scared?” His nose wrinkles as he tries to discern your reasoning. “Why?”
“Well, being a mommy is a super important job, too,” you tell him, tucking the bookmark back between the pages and setting the paperback down on the bed. “And I didn’t want to mess up or make any mistakes. But guess what?”
“What?” He places his hand on top of yours.
You lean in and whisper, “I’ve messed up and made mistakes.” Your tone stays lighthearted, but both of you know that the words are spoken with truth. “There have been times where I should have been tougher, and times that I should have been more easygoing. And sometimes, I look back and think, ‘why did I do that?’” You shake your head to combat the memories of missteps you’ve inadvertently conjured up. “But you still love me, just like Baby Brother will always love you.”
Harris exhales with a heaviness that’s almost comical coming from a seven-year-old. He’s not wholly convinced, so you continue.
“Har, you are gonna be the best big brother the world has ever seen.” The promise is honey-sweet and just as natural. “There are so many things you’ll get to teach the baby that Daddy and I can’t.”
He allows himself to look at you once again, curiosity overtaking nervousness. “Like what?”
“Like…drawing,” you say, scratching an itch on the side of your stomach where a stretch mark has formed. “You’re our resident artist; no one draws a family portrait better than Harris Munson.”
He giggles at this. “Yeah, an’ you guys don’t know a lot about superheroes; only a little bit.”
“Exactly. Only what you’ve taught us.” You kiss the crown of his head. “Baby Brother is so lucky to have you.”
Harris nods, letting out a yawn that alerts you to the time.
“Come on, let’s get you into bed so you’re not snoozing in school tomorrow.” You lower his pillow from where he’s propped it against the wall, but he doesn’t move from his spot.
“I wanna say good night to Baby Brother.” He rests his cheek on the swell of your stomach with his hand just above your belly button. “Good night, Baby Brother. I love you, and I can’t wait to meet you in…” he rotates his neck so you’re looking directly at his nostrils, “how many days?”
“Thirteen, if he comes on time,” you say, adding a gentle reminder, “but sometimes babies show up a little late, so he might not get here until closer to Thanksgiving.”
“Oh.” He considers this for a second, his gaze shifting back and forth from your belly to your eyes. “If he comes on Thanksgiving, do I still get to eat mashed potatoes?”
You shrug. “I don’t see why not. As long as you save some for me when I get home.”
Harris harrumphs at the prospect of sharing and you laugh, which gives you the urge to pee—again. “Sweet dreams, Har Bear.” You kiss his scalp again, slowly rising to flick off the light switch. There will be a time when he eschews the nickname, labeling it babyish, but it lives on for another day.
In your beeline for the bathroom, you find Eddie waiting just outside Harris’s room. His cheeks are pink as though he’s been caught, and you notice the glassiness coating his chocolate eyes.
“Eds? You okay?” You murmur the question under your breath, not wanting to alert Harris.
“Mhm. Yeah, ‘m fine.” He hooks his fingers into the white cotton sleeves of his undershirt and wipes at his face. “Just pregnancy hormones,” he teases with a soft chuckle, and you nudge his hip with yours. “Really, though; everything’s good.”
You want to press him further, but the full-term baby tap-dancing on your bladder has other plans, so you have to surrender.
Eddie sighs, contentment flooding his body as he blinks away the blurriness and closes Harris’s door. Domesticity has wrapped itself around him, and the softness with which you talk to Harris only has him falling deeper into its embrace.
He used to describe himself as lucky, but you’re always quick to point out that luck has nothing to do with it. He’s deserving of his little family and the unconditional love that comes with it.
But deserving doesn’t explain you showing up at the Hideout three years ago, or him picking you out of the crowd, or you being Harris’s teacher and fostering an awkward but necessary reunion. There’s a solid chance that he’d still be the angry and defensive man who’d shoved his dreams away, because holding hope that they would come to fruition was simply too scary to consider. But now, despite years of self-sabotage, he’s got everything he could ever want.
So, yeah. Eddie Munson is a lucky man.

INTRODUCING TMNT: LAZARUS
a personal tmnt fan iteration by @lesbosexual
Told as a comic book script, Lazarus—or just Laz—is set in 1999, New York City, fourteen years after the turtles’ and Splinter’s initial mutations. Laz is a dark, science-fiction, horror neo-noir following themes of life and death, rebirth and resurrection, and what it means to be human.

Hello, do you have any recs for star wars books and comics with the best lukeleia content? In my lukeleia era and I really wanna start reading some OT legends stuff but I don’t know where to start.
Stories that take place during, between, and shortly after the Original Trilogy? We are lucky to have decades worth of content set in this time period! It’s the only place we can find things published before the sibling reveal, and/or acknowledging that Luke and Leia were attracted to each other.
✨I’ve included links to every book and comic mentioned below. I don’t think it’s immoral to pirate from a corporation. If you (general) take issue with that, I have bought most items listed at least once, and I would lend it to you if I could.
✨Some of the comics are only available in large collections, you may need to scroll to find the correct issues.
Legends Books
The first that comes to mind is Splinter of the Mind’s Eye. It was published in 1978, Luke and Leia were still love interests, and it takes place after ANH. They crash land on a mining planet and discover there is an Imperial presence there.
Fun Facts:
This story was commissioned to be a low budget sequel if A New Hope flopped.
This novel also inspired some of the canon lore for kyber crystals.
I started an impromptu reread earlier this year, and I did not remember how shippy this book was. This is just four pages into the book:
Splinter of the Mind’s Eye was also adapted into a comic in 1995… and it was still incredibly shippy? I recommend both if you have the time and executive function. If you’re low on focus or time, go with the comic.
I’ve been told the novelization of A New Hope also has the same vibes, and is by the same author. So if you enjoy Splinter thats another place to look.
As far as other novels, we’re mostly looking at crumbs. Off the top of my head I know both Shadows of the Empire and The Truce at Bakura acknowledge their feelings for each other.
Shadows of the Empire:
The Truce at Bakura:
I would only recommend these if you’re interested in the rest of either story.
Shadows is a take on what happened between ESB and ROTJ, published in ‘96. Want to see how the Rebels get the plans for the Second Death Star? Read this. Want to see Darth Vader forced to play politics? Read this. If Han and Leia’s relationship is a no go for you, you might consider skipping it. Content Warning: the antagonist attempts to “seduce” Leia via pheromones. Read: rape. He is a serial rapist.
Truce takes place immediately after ROTJ, and has some great character moments for our heroes, again a lot of focus on Leia and Han. I do, however, choose to view the fact that Luke’s love interest in this book is a young Imperial Senator who we are meant to compare to Leia, through a shippy lense. I cannot escape the idea that Luke is projecting. Otherwise this book is about dinosaur looking aliens using human’s life energy to power their ships.
If you’re interested in checking any of these books out I recommend looking here or here.
Legends Comics
Splinter of the Mind’s Eye (1995)—as mentioned above.
Star Wars Tales (1999-2005) 15, Do or Do Not—Takes place immediately after ROTJ. Luke is processing after the Battle of Endor, and uncertain of his place. His feelings for Leia are acknowledged.
Star Wars (2013) 1-6, In the Shadow of Yavin—Takes pace after ANH. Leia is working with a handpicked X-wing squadron, to expose a spy. Her position in command causes friction between her and Luke. This is one of the few stories really leans into Leia having feelings for Luke.
Star Wars (2013) 15-18, Rebel Girl—Leia accepts a political proposal in exchange for a secure base location. Luke is a jealous brat about it, puts himself in danger, and plans to run away.
Marvel Star Wars (‘77–86)—I haven’t read these yet, but I’ve seen plenty of panels and pages posted on Tumblr that give lukeleia vibes, even some that take place after ROTJ. These have been gathered into several omnibuses. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5)
Disney Comics
Star Wars (2015) 1-6, Skywalker Strikes—After ANH, the gang is infiltrating an Imperial arms factory, Vader shows up, Luke has a crisis. The Luke and Leia interactions are primarily in issues 3 & 4, but it’s a solid story arc.
Star Wars (2015) 33–Actual Publisher’s Summary: The Hero of the Rebellion & the Princess of the Revolution! Luke and Leia finally get some time alone… Unfortunately, it's stranded on a desert island.
The Storms of Crait (2017)—After ANH. Our heroes travel to Crait, in hopes of establishing a base there. Luke is delightfully flustered by a kiss on the cheek from Leia.
Star Wars Adventures (2017) 4 & 5, The Trouble at Tibrin—Leia and Luke are on a diplomatic mission that goes awry. Leia rescues Luke in this one. Acknowledges Luke’s feelings.
Star Wars Adventures Annual 2018, Mind Your Manners—Another diplomatic mission gone wrong. Not all that shippy, but discovered it while making this list, so it felt wrong to leave it off.
Star Wars Adventures (2020) 7 & 8, The Princess and the Bog, A Twin Tale—Leia and Luke are scouting base locations. Luke is terrible at following Leia’s orders, and wants to pet all the animals.
Star Wars Hyperspace Stories (2022) 2–Another search for a base location. There are several cute moments between them in this one.
Deleted Scenes & Behind The Scenes
I know the ask was about books and novels, but I’d also recommend—if you haven’t already—searching for deleted scenes, alternate takes, behind the scenes photos and promo photos, etc. There are goodies from each film, but the most substantial stuff is from/for ESB.
Is That Everything?
I doubt it. There are many other stories that take place in this time frame that I haven’t investigated yet. Here are some that are on my list:
Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor (Legends novel)
Heir to the Jedi (Canon novel)
Heart of the Jedi (unpublished Legends novel)
Star Wars (1977-1986) (Legends comics) (mentioned above)
Star Wars (2020) aka Star Wars V3 (Canon comics)
Razor’s Edge & Honor Among Thieves (Legends novel duology)
I’d bet on there being content down the timeline that reads as shippy, but that’s a whole future post.

2012 Donatello adopts Rottmnt boys
So, during the space arc Donnie randomly gets thrown threw a portal into the 2018 AU.
So now Donatello is in a weird AF New York and oh look at the year it’s 1999. Despite him being in another universe Donnie is pretty sure his brothers will be able to save him soon. So, he moves into the sewers and sets up a very temporary home base.
A week later and you know Donnie is getting a little home sick, but he is sure his brothers will be here soon. Anyway, the dumping/trash laws in the universe are a lot worse so he can get a much of better/new materials so while he waits, he can work on a lot a cool projects in his down time.
1 month he really hopes his brother will get here soon because he is starting to go crazy. He managed to re-build Metalhead but you know not talking to anyone other than yourself for a month is kind of a lot for a turtle.
5 months, he isn’t growing. Like he has been studying his physiology and in 5 months he should have grown at least a little bit. This brings some worrying prospects, like time not passing the same between multiverses. He decides to make his base slightly more permanent, just in case.
1 year, Donnie is pretty sure he’ll be stuck here a lot longer then expected. He hasn’t even fully aged a day since he got here. Luckily this doesn’t affect his healing or else a paper cut could easily kill him.
2 years, he has been growing his lair since it’s something to do and he doesn't want to focus on his predicament. He kind of hopes someone will fall down here soon so he won’t be alone but he doesn’t think he’ll meet April or even Casey for like ten years at the soonest. Of course, he could just go find them but that might mess up the universe and he isn't sure what the consequences would be.
3 years, he meet his father and his brothers. Well this universe’s version. He found them in the sewers very lost, and yeah he couldn’t just leave them. So now they live with him, they are some very notable differences like A. Red/Rapheal is the oldest!! It kind of seems like Raph and Leo swapped but who knows at this point. B. All the turtles are different species, most importantly he is a soft shell. C. Splinter has much worse mental health. He regularly sees the man crying and has to comfort him. This universe is very strange. Red/Raph 2, Donnie/Purple and Leo/Blue are 1 while Mikey/Orange is few months old.
4 years, life is stressful but getting better. It’s nice having people around again, even though it sometimes hurts to see them. The little turtles have dubbed him mom which he doesn’t mind. He now has people to make inventions for again. Metalhead is the Defacto baby siter/protecter whenever Splinter and Donnie are busy. The issues of naming the turtles is brought up and Donatello becomes Tello and gives his name to his counterpart.
5 years, Splinter finally feels ready to move out. But they aren’t going far it’s only a three minutes' walk to their lair. It a gamble which lair anyone is sleeping at each night. Tello has been encouraging Splinter to improve his mental health, it’s an uphill battle given that the Hamato clan in his universe made horrible decisions, but they’ve made progress. He knows this Splinter sees him as a friend, but Donnie can’t help but look up at the man (Despite this Splinter being so short).
Year 6, Tello will never admit it to Leo but he’s been slacking on his training, so he decides to start practicing again. Of course, he trains where the boys can see and as expected they start to copy him and with Splinter’s permission, he starts to train them. Acording to the boys he is like 'Lou Jitsu' who is a action star in this universe, his skills seem to have some actual basis, so he doesn't stop them.
Year 7, it seems the turtles of this world were created very differently, he doesn't recognize this Draxum but from what Splinter says he's bad news. Mikey is 4, The twins are 5 and Raph is 6. Donnie has started to take an interest in tech as expected and Tello allows him to act as his Lab Assistant until Donnie can build own lab.
Year 8, April'o'Neil falls into their life and sticks to the turtles like glue. She is similar to his worlds April in her fire but that around where the similarits end. She's more of a sister then a friend and he is happy about that since he makes that hellish love tringle less likely to happen. When he gets back, he really needs to apologize to her for being so obsessive.
Year 9, Raph has started sneaking out, Tello sends metalhead to follow and protect him but doesn't stop him. The boys have been coming along well in there training but he can't teach them everything they need to know about there weapons. Luckily Splinter can fill in the gaps.
Year 10, he hasn't seen his family in a decade it hasn't really suck in how long he's been stuck here. He is still 16, at least physically, his meatal Deveopment is still 16 but he has 26 years' worth of life. He has grown a lot personally, helping to raise the turtles has let him see more of his own flaws and he lost that crush on April, but he still feels 16. Splinter never once asked how old he was, Tello isn't even sure how he would answer.
Year 11, Mikey is 8, the twins are 9 and Raph is 10. Tello feels more comfortable leaving the lair territory given that the boys are old enough to mostly understand the rules. Now he has started setting up safe houses around the city, just in case. He has been looking into their regular villains but the only one he can find is Stockman who apparently runs a supermarket and has a son???? He's keeping an eyes on them.
Year 12, Tello has been trying to learn new weapons, just to add more verity to his skill set. So as a training exercise he has each of the boys try to each him their weapons. Raph is the best, follows by Leo and the Mikey. Donnie gets out of this lesson by virtue of them both using the Bo. He ends up learning the Sai first.
Year 13, Tello makes himself to tech limb enhancements, they are made from high grade titiume. The act as amour and give his limbs more strength. For Christmas Donnie gifted him tech bo and Tello cried. These boys are more his sons then his brothers, he doesn't hate it.
Year 14, Mikey is 10, The twins are 11 and Raph 12. He knows that the boys have limited time before there lives hit the fan, he worries. He and Donnie make protective gear for them but he is always scared it won't be enough. A least he finally (relatively) mastered the Sai, next on his list were Leo's Katanas.
Year 15, he is pretty sure the Kraang don't exist in this world, he can't find any evidence of their existence. The Foot Clan is also elusive, but he has found evidence of their existence.
Year 16, Tello has officially been in this world an equal amount of time he had been in his world. The idea of going home is a lot less appealing now that he built his new family, of course he misses is brothers and father and always will but he has kids to protect.
Year 17, Donnie made S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. as a counterpart to Metalhead. Where Metalhead was more or less a tank that packed on hell of a punch S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. was fast and much more tactial. Tello finished his garage with an array of motorized wounders inside. The Shell Rassier 2.0, The Stealth Bikes 2.0, and his new favorites the Hover Boards (Think the skateboards form Shredder's Revenge).
Year 18, he knows it's started. He can see it in Raph's heightened focus on training, in Leo increase in terrible jokes, Mikey's new hidden sketch books and Donnie's increase in secret projects. He never pushes them though.
Until one night he comes home to a trashed Shell Raiser and a frantic Donnie. The turtles tells him about what happened to the Shell Raiser, something about Meat Sweats? Tello carefully gets the whole story. Apparently, they were already fighting the foot clan, but no sigh of Shredder. Tello calls the other boys in and tells them he isn't angry but says they now haft to tell him who they fight and call him for backup.
He meets Draxum during the Big Mama Fascio and the Yokai is hella confused but the mutant turtle who he 100% didn't make. Like he clearly isn't a Yokai but form the dialogue it sounds like he's been a turtle for years.
[Insert most of the series]
He is shocked to find out Oroku Saki is actually good and not a complete bastard so yeah. ALSO KARAI IS HIS GRANDMA AND SHE JUST ACCPECTS HIM. HE EVEN GETS MAGIC POWERS!! They free the soul of Oroku Saki. The fuck do you mean Casey was raised by the Foot! Well he has another child to care for now. That brings him to seven children
Year 19, he's been making progress with Casey and everything has been relatively chill but he knows this isn't the end. Like the Rat King or Kraang are bound to show up soon. He enjoys the down time though. Draxum dose ask about how he came to exist and Tello eventually tells him about is alternate timeline predicament. (Drax is the first one to find out). He agrees to keep it a secret for now.
Then Casy Jones Junior shows up he says Master Tello was dragged through an unknown portal two years after the Kraang invasion. He assumes it's his brothers finally coming to get him and after the events of the Kraang invasion comes clean to everyone about his true origins. They are all in a mix of awe and horror.
Year 20, everyone has been trying to make Tello's last years with them count. Mikey makes a bunch of art with him, Donnie learns how to run Tello's network of labs, robots and cameras, Raph watches all of Tello's favorite movies with him, Leo glues himself to Tello's side and dose everything with him. Draxum gives him a cloaking brooch so he can experience so bits of human life, Oroku Saki teaches him how to fight in/against Shredder amour, Karai gives him therapy, Casey Jones Junior lets Tello teach about everything he can think of and Cassandra trains with him daily.
It's the best and worse year of Tello's life, he is sure he could come back to this universe but doesn't his world need it's Donatello? But these kids still need him. His brothers need him they'll be so worried but his sons will lose him. He's going to miss everyone here, even Grandpa Saki!
He hasn't seen his family for 20 years, he has been in this world for 20 years.
It's a normal Sunday when he is suddenly ripped away form his lab, Donnie screaming next to him as he is ripped back to his original? home? Universe.
His brothers and family stand above him looking worridly down at him.
"Woah Donnie, nice gear!" Says Mikey noticing all his new tech
"We gotta get out of here, the Kraang will becoming soon"
He is hoisted up.
Day 1, all he can feel know that he is home, is numb. His name no longer belongs to him and the whole world seems so bland. It's only been 2 days here, he hasn't been able to speak a word. Fugitoid says it's muitverse travel sickness and he just needs time. They both know the robot is lying.
At least on his family members is in his room at any given time
Leo who is way too serious to be his baby blue
Raph who is too angry to be his sunshine
Mikey the most similar but just off enough that it makes him sick, he isn't his little artist.
He feels so old compared to them but they can't see the diffence.
"20 years" are his first words to his brothers after two decades.
Day 2, he can't say here. He's dying, the , mystics that are apart of his soul are searching for others but there nothing here. Tello hears them yelling
"20 YEARS!"
"2 DAYS!"
There in the room next to him.
April to his suprise is the first to say it
"We should send him back"
Everyone else is outraged but now the idea of him going back is out there.
He opens up to Leo first
"I didn't think you were coming, I-I I have a family there Leo"
After that the flood gates open and he breaks, his brothers as he sobs and tells them about his world.
Day 3, he wakes up with his brothers in a turtle pile and he can finally breath.
Later Leo tells him with a warm smile
"We'll work something out, we'll get you back to your boys!"
Fugitoid says they build a permeant gateway on earth. The robot also notes that the timelines have likely sunken up due to Tello's roundtrip. Which is a relief, he didn't want to go back, and it be 30 years there.
Now he has a goal, something to shed blood for and invent for.
It takes 3 months for Tello to stabilize his universe. Tello has had 20 years to train and improve his craft, he learned how to fight Shredder form Oroku Saki himself. The villains of his world didn't stand a chance. His brothers seemed mildly terrified, but Splinter got it. raising 4 turtle gremlins changes you.
3 months after he arrived a door had been opened back into his boys universe.
Raph nearly crushed him with the strength of his hug, Donnie cried, Leo went full medic mode and Mikey stuck to him like glue. After the enisle excitement of his return all the counterparts introduced themselves and in a very turtle fashion, ordered pizza.

in your opinion, is the Sonic fanbase 'more' or 'less' toxic than it was when you were young?
Less toxic. But I'm also further away from the fanbase now than I was.
Back when I was deeper into it, there was a lot more tribalism. You had:
Fans of the classic games (1991-1994)
Fans of the modern games (1999 and onward)
Fans of the Archie comics
Fans of the Saturday morning cartoon
Fans of the weekday Adventures of Sonic cartoon
And they mostly kept to their own corners of the internet, because they generally hated each other. There were a lot of knock down, drag out arguments over which of these five flavors of Sonic the Hedgehog was "the one that mattered" because so many of them were so different.
I know we still get some of that to this day. There was that embarrassing "True Sonic Spirit" movement from a few years ago, people still argue about different voice casts and stuff, and literally not even a week ago I mentioned getting ignorant Youtube comments from a couple of idiots -- I didn't mention it at the time, but the crux of their posts was slamming me for being an overly-entitled Classic Sonic fan.
So it still happens. But definitely not to where it fractures the entire community into so many distinct (and more importantly, thriving) splinter-fandoms. Things are a lot more unified and respectful nowadays, comparatively.

Happy Birthday Mark McLachlan aka Marti Pellow, born March 23rd 1965, the same year as myself.
Picture the scene, a teenage Mark chatting to his dad in Clydebank, and telling him he was going to be a musician, according to Pellow the reply went something like this....'Are you on a hallucinogenic substance or something? What's wrong with getting out there and getting an apprenticeship? I'm a builder, your grandfather was a builder, your great-grandfather was a shipbuilder. What do you want to be a musician for?'
And so it was, Mark became Marti and Mclachlan, became Pellow.
In 1982, at the age of seventeen, Marti formed the band Vortex Motion, with three friends from Clydebank High School in his hometown, the bands name was later changed to Wet, Wet, Wet who went on to have numerous hit singles and albums.
PolyGram signed the group in 1985 and spent a fortune fine tuning them in, the group scored a hit two years later with "Wishing I Was Lucky," which reached number 6 in the charts, the album Popped In Souled Out was a huge success scoring them a debut number one, two more would follow.
The Wets, as they became known had more single success in 1988 with their first number one, a cover of the Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends" cut for the charity ChildLine.
Hit singles including Sweet Surrender and Goodnight Girl preceded a 1994 cover of the Troggs' "Love Is All Around" which spent an astounding 14 consecutive weeks atop the charts and was their third chart topper; however, in the wake of 1997's album, 10, the Wets began splintering amid copyright squabbles, and in May 1999 Pellow left the group.
Marti had a few minor hits as a solo artist but soon found fame in London's' West End in the hit stage musical Chicago.
Marti's mother passed away in 2003 and he was touched that all his ex band members attended the funeral, he recalled his mum saying that maybe Wet Wet Wet would get back together sometime and Marti later said in an interview "Moments like that put things into perspective - it wasn't all about music, it was more about a kinship between us." The band reformed the following year.
While the group haven't officially split the earlier success has eluded them, they still attract fans to their sell out concerts, Marti is still playing to audiences in London, his last role being Che Guevara in Evita aside from music he was the narrator in Willy Russell's Blood Brothers in 2015.
Pellow is currently touring singing some of his best-known songs on a UK-wide tour. He'll be playing former band Wet Wet Wet's debut album, Popped in Souled Out, in full - plus a string of other hits. The first night was at in Dublin and he played Glasgow's OVO Hydro last Saturday, he is in Leeds tonight, followed by Newcastle, London, Bournemouth and Birmingham.

My favorite poll write-ups
Hello. So for each poll, I included a little blurb/ramble going into some historical or musical context behind each year. Most of these were written the day I posted them and some years didn't give me a lot to work with. But there were years that really gave me an opportunity to expand on areas of music history/business I'm truly passionate about.
So I decided to compile all of my favorite write-ups into one post.
1956: The rise of Elvis Presley and rock & roll on the Billboard charts
1959: The Grammy Awards vs Black music
1966: The Vietnam War effect on the pop charts
1970: The traumatic dawn of the new decade
1972: Cultural shifts in the 1970's and the last stretch of the Vietnam War
1973: Watergate, Philly soul, and the birth of hip-hop
1979: Disco Demolition Night and the death (and by "death" I mean "gentrification") of disco
1980: Punk rock, new wave, and the sudden end of the 1970's
1983: MTV vs Black music
1987: Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center vs rock music and the creation of the parental advisory label
1991: Nielsen SoundScan's effect on the Billboard charts, and the controversy of 2 Live Crew and Miami bass
1993: The birth of West Coast hip-hop and the coast wars
1999: Y2K and the MP3 breaches containment
2002: Nu metal's place in music marketing
2004: The South got something to say
2007: The controversy of "ringtone rap" and Auto-Tune
2008: Partying and pirating during the financial crisis
2009: Electropop and Auto-Tune's change in perception
2012: Psy was robbed
2013: The death of club music and the Blurred Lines lawsuit
2016: Streaming killed the MP3 star
2017: The mainstream rise of reggaeton in white America and the "monogenre"
2019: Old Town Road, TikTok, and the question of genre and marketing continues
2021: Covid-19's shadow over the pop charts
2022: The current state of pop music in a splintered musical landscape

Sect History and Strategy
The National-Anarchists have their origin in the National Front, a far right British party with an impressive 1977 dark horse electoral success based on their xenophobic anti-immigrant platform. After the election, the group fractured into many internal factions before splintering into different sects. Troy Southgate, the main English-language National-Anarchist ideologue, is a veteran of this internecine maze. He joined the National Front in 1984, and subsequently joined a splinter group that eventually split again before becoming the National Revolutionary Faction (NRF), a small cadre organization openly calling for armed guerilla warfare.[10]
In the late 1990s however, the NRF started to morph into the National-Anarchist movement; the two were referred to interchangeably for a number of years, until the NRF disbanded in 2003.[11] Southgate’s ideology does not seem to have changed substantially with the shift, and he continues to circulate his NRF-era essays.
The NRF’s only known public action as “National-Anarchists” was to hold an Anarchist Heretics Fair in October 2000, in which a number of fringe-of the-fringe groups participated. However, when they attempted a second fair, a variety of anarchists and anti-fascists blocked it from being held. After the same thing happened in 2001, Southgate and the NRF abandoned this strategy and retreated to purely internet-based propaganda.[12]
The fair reflected Southgate’s adaptation of the Trotskyist practice of entrism — the strategy of entering other political groups in order to either take them over or break off with a part of their membership.[13] Southgate argues, “The NRF uses cadre activists to infiltrate political groups, institutions and services… It is part of our strategy to do this work and, if we are to have any success in the future, it is work that must be done on an increasing basis.”[14] He claims that the NRF infiltrated the 1999 Stop the City demonstration and the 2000 May Day protest, as well as activities of the Hunt Saboteurs Association and the Animal Liberation Front.[15]
Beyond its tactical uses, entrism is a philosophy for the National-Anarchists as they recruit members from the Left and in particular anarchist groups. Instead of simply calling themselves “racist communitarians,” they purposely adopt the label “anarchist” and specifically appropriate anarchist imagery. Examples include the use of a purple star (anarchists typically use either a black star, or a half black star, with the other half designating their specific tendency, i.e., red for unionists, green for environmentalists, etc.), or a red and black star superimposed with a Celtic cross (the latter being a typical symbol of White Nationalists). The allied New Right factions in Australia and the UK also use the “chaos symbol” —an eight pointed star —which they adapt from left-wing counter-cultural anarchists.
The fascist use of the “black bloc” political formation at demonstrations is also an appropriation of anarchist and far left forms. In recent years, German fascists calling themselves Autonomous Nationalists have marched in large black blocs, waving black flags (a symbol of traditional anarchism), and even appropriated the symbolism of the German antifascist groupings.[16]
As far back as 1984, Pierre André Taguieff, an expert on the European New Right, condemned the “tactic of ideological scrambling systematically deployed by GRECE,” a rightwing think tank that embraced some leftist critiques of advanced capitalism while promoting core fascist ideas.[17] Here we see that ideological scrambling deployed on a grassroots level.
It needs to be stressed that, despite the name, National-Anarchists have not emerged from inside the anarchist movement, and, intellectually, their origins are not based in its ideas. Anarchists typically see themselves as part of a cosmopolitan and explicitly antinationalist left-wing movement which seeks to dismantle both capitalism and the centralized state. They seek instead to replace them with decentralized, non-hierarchical, and self-regulating communities. Although similar to Marxists, anarchists are just as adamant in their opposition to racism, sexism, and homophobia as they are to capitalism. In the United States, anarchists were key players in the formation of labor unions, were the only political faction to support gay rights before World War I, were leaders in the free speech movement, and were active in helping to legalize birth control. The White Nationalists’ embrace of the anarchist label and symbolism is more than little ironic, since anarchists have a long history of physically disrupting White Nationalist events, for instance by groups like Anti-Racist Action. Anarchist military units were even formed to fight Franco in Spain and Mussolini in Italy.
