Neteyam and Spider

Guys it's SO important to me that Neteyam cared about Spider. 

In my own personal mind, at first, Neteyam went to meet Spider because both Kiri and Lo'ak were obsessed with the human boy at the lab. He knew his mom disliked the kid though so he mainly went to keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't hurt his siblings. But it becomes clear pretty quickly that the kid is harmless. He's just quick and curious and frankly kind of entertaining. 

I think Neteyam would remain semi-wary because for him, especially at a young age, his parents can do no wrong so he has a hard time reconciling what's he's seeing and how his mom feels about the kid. 

In my mind I think the final straw for him, kind of the deciding factor on his personal view of Spider would be an incident that I'm going to write in my Spider Chronicles, but it involves Spider saving Tuk when she was a baby during that dangerous moment when everyone's backs are turned for a split second. Spider gets injured in the process and that's when he realizes two things: Spider's human body makes him way more fragile than he thought and that his parents are not gods, they're flawed. I think that realization comes early to all the kids except Tuk because of Neytiri especially's treatment of Spider (like earlier than other kids have the realization that like my parents are people not perfect). 

And I think he takes it upon himself to try to make up for some of the pain his parents have caused the boy, so he helps him carve his first bow or maybe gives him his old one. I can see him replicating the fishing experience he had with Jake but in private with Spider instead or looking after him more closely after the incident. 

I think Neteyam actually has a tight ball of protectiveness reserved for Spider but he's careful about when and where he shows it because he doesn't want Neytiri to hate Spider more if he overtly shows how much he cares about the boy. The other kids already do and he can see how much it irks his mom so in front of her and Jake he takes a bit more of a neutral stance to kind of keep the peace, which his parents don't pick up on right? Just more of him having this burden of being the eldest and feeling like he kind of has to take care of everyone's feelings. 

I don't think Neteyam and Spider aren't close, I think their dynamic just has more layers to it than Spider's relationship with the other siblings do. Lo'ak and Spider are equals to each other, partners in crime, both always down for an adventure. Kiri is his best friend and has always seen him as himself, not human, not like he doesn't belong, just him. Tuk views him no differently either and is kind of blind or at least kept in the dark for the most part about the issues surrounding Spider. But Neteyam is painfully aware of how human Spider is, not in a way of we're fundamentally different, but in the way of he's different, he's treated differently, he's smaller than us, not as fast, and the mere air could kill him. He's just painfully aware of how much of a risk being human in this environment puts Spider in so he always has an eye out for him. 

I think Spider would have a bit of a love hate relationship with how Neteyam views/treats him because of that. Like Spider has worked so hard to make up for his disadvantages in the environment and to keep up with them, and he hates Neteyam reminding him how different they are even if he is looking out for him. The other part of him loves that Neteyam cares and craves his attention. I think there's also the dissonance of Spider being older than Neteyam but Neteyam treating him like the younger one of the two. Part of Spider hates it because he's learned he's not allowed to be weak or vulnerable because there's been no one to take care of him or put his well being first, so it feels weird that someone younger than him is. But the part that craves care and attention also loves it. I imagine their relationship being very laden with that kind of dichotomy of Spider's fear of being vulnerable and his need to be cared for. 

I think the only reason we don't see Neteyam and Spider be as close in the movie as he is with Kiri and Lo'ak for example is precisely for the reasons I listed above, just that the connotation of their relationship is different. 

As he grows up, Neteyam finds himself having to keep a weird balance between being the responsible child, trying to give Spider as much attention as possible but not letting Neytiri really see that, and his duties as a taronyu and son of the Olo'eyktan. 

It's overwhelming frankly, but Neteyam's disposition makes him keep quiet. I think he actually is able to relax on the rare occasions he gets some snippets of alone time with Spider because they actually spend time quietly together. Like Spider can be hyper and a handful but he's also able to tone it down and just exist for a while, and he knows Neteyam kind of needs that. So sometimes they just spend like 20 minutes laying on the forest floor next to each other during Neteyam's free time or kind of talk quietly about random things, maybe some human books Spider read recently. I imagine Neteyam would be quite into human literature so he gets it secondhand from Spider cause he doesn't have time to indulge in it himself. 

When his parents leave Spider behind to the RDA, it kills him. He'd still had faith in his parents enough that they wouldn't at least, and no matter how he tried to rationalize it in the months following, it still felt wrong to him. 

Then the RDA have found them and attack, and Lo'ak is like we can't leave Spider. I don't think Neteyam follows simply because it's Lo'ak asking because we know he does have some authority as the eldest and could have been more insistent about not going back. I think he realized that if they went back to their parents right then and asked them to help get Spider back, they wouldn't consider him a priority AGAIN, so Lo'ak and Neteyam going back for him now are really the only chance he has of escaping the RDA's clutches. So of course he turns back with Lo'ak. He already felt like he'd failed Spider a first time, he wouldn't let it happen again, not to someone he considered his responsibility and he cared for so much. 

So yeah... they make me sad and I need more of them just talking or bonding like please.

What I don’t like about the way Spider is written is that he’s written as trying to be Na’vi when he’s human. Yes, he was born on Pandora and stranded there, and that’s not his fault. But he was still raised by other humans. There are humans who are allies of the Na’vi but they don’t act like they are part of the tribe. They know their place.

Spider does not need to be Na’vi. The Na’vi do not owe him anything. Spider is not to blame for his father’s crimes, but as a human, he is automatically part of the oppressive group on Pandora. Therefore, the Na’vi, who are the oppressed, are not obligated to consider Spider to be one of them.

And it doesnt take becoming your ally or comrade to be an ally or comrade to them.

Theres no such thing as being "trapped in the wrong body" or having an "indigenous spirit", so Spider can easily live alongside the Na'vi (particularly the Omaticaya) as friends of the tribe/family or trusted comrades.

While Spider acquiring an Avatar would make his relationship to the Na'vi more convenient when traversing Pandora, its not necessary and quite frankly (imo) would be super cliché and take away from that important aspect of allyship (the necessity to reconcile privilege and play a role in dismantling systemic oppression, but embrace and celebrate differences and syncronise cultural ties).

I think it would serve a far better example of what Spider represents if he's not treated as "a human Na'vi" or entitled to acceptance and membership among any clans, and, instead, depicted as a human that values Pandoran life and Na'vi as a people and culture out of respect, allyship, and cooperation as a human being.

Ok but how about this:

Tsu'tey is telling Spider a story or smt and at some point he mentiones Sylwanin and, since the little bean has probably never heard of her up to this point, Spider, with all the innocence and wonder in his lil eyes, asks who is Sylwanin. And Tsu'tey, no matter how much pain and joy the memories of her at the same time give him, decides to tell him.

AWEEEE, just Tsu'tey getting a little teary eyed as he goes down memory lane and tells Spider all about the mischief he and Sylwanin used to get up to when they were kids. He tells him about their competitive relationship. How they used to compete against each other constantly, and how it drove the adults mad. How both of them struggled terribly at learning English, and teamed up against Neytiri when Grace accidentally praised her for her swift learning.

At first, he doesn't tell Spider about the school. His boy is too young to know about such tragedy, and Spider knows not to ask. Tsu'tey speaks of Sylwanin in the past tense, so he knows more or less what happened.

Instead, meal times tucked around the fire, turn into story time, where Tsu'tey shares stories from his past. Spider is positively thrumming with interest, eager to learn about his Dad's youth, whilst Tsu'tey feels something in him healing as he talks about his first love and isn't immediately met with apologies and tight smiles. Spider geniunely wants to know who Sylwanin was and Tsu'tey is more than happy to paint the picture for him.

He tells his boy how much of her he sees in him. Her curiosity and burning determination. Her lovable personality, how drawn to her he was.

He smiles bitterly at the memory of her first clean kill. How she had pranced back into HomeTree, to Tsu'tey who had been saddled with helping his father for the day, boasting about how she was going to complete her iknimaya first. Out of spite, Tsu'tey had gone out the day after and completed his first kill by noon. That startled a laugh from Spider, whilst Tsu'tey beamed with pride. The hunter shared amused tales of the climb into the Hallelujah Mountains, how Tsu'tey had been the one chosen to tame his ikran first. How he had struggled, his ikran giving as good as he gave, whilst Sylwanin whooped and cackled from the sidelines.

He talks about stolen nights away from the clan, riding their ikran around the forest and talking about everything and nothing. He spins wild tales about trips down to the river, playing among the rocks as children whilst unearthing all manor of weird and wonderful animals from the riverbed. He talks about Sylwanin's interest in healing and how she took to her Tsahik training like an ilu to water. How she wrestled Tsu'tey into sitting still after he returned with his hunting party late in the evening, so she could check him over for injuries, ignoring his pouts and complaints. With all his love and adoration for her, Tsu'tey shares how full of life his childhood friend had been, how much he missed her now.

And then he pulls himself out of those bittersweet memories, to find Spider watching him softly, his expression open and understanding. They mirror their grief back at one another, quiet and companionable. Steady and healing.

Sylwanin would have loved Spider, Tsu'tey knew, suddenly mourning a reality that couldn't be.

While he listened the three talking he kept eating the slice of pizza staring at them. The three blue aliens glared at him and Kiri was giggling. "What? I was hungry!" Spider said as he spoke with his mouth full.

Even as soon as he got a little familiar with Quaritch, Spider asked him shyly lowering his head like a beaten dog: "Do you have some..pizza?" he said with puppy eyes (Lyle gave him a slice)

Spider has always loved to pay respect to the Sully parents. Even if he didn't get along very well with them and he thought maybe Neytiri hated him, when they asked him something he always answered with a joyful but respectful tone. He's so silly.

While he is technically the biggest of all but the shortest, he remains the most childish and silly along with Tuk.

He often makes silly faces even to make Kiri laugh if she's down.

He always stumbles. On everything. He can't walk straight. Is there a twig on the ground? He stumbles. Is there a slice of pizza that was probably looking for oh the ground? He stumbles. Is there a stone on the ground? He stumbles.

He makes goofy jokes but they're funny precisely because they're goofy. He makes too many jokes, even at inopportune moments. Are they talking seriously? He makes a joke. They all glare at him and he blushes and looks to the side. "What? It was to defuse!"

He can be a very flirty guy.

In addition to having a small knife and a bow, he has a stick. He is very able and strong with his stick and can be very dangerous when he uses it. He loves to spin it and once hit Lo'ak's face: "PLEASE DON'T TELL NEYTIRI ABOUT THIS I WILL CURE YOUR WOUND!!"

Although he proves to be very confident and sure of himself, he is afraid. He is scared and very insecure of himself. Basically false confidence.

He always kept his pain inside. He never shows it to anyone and hates talking about feelings.

He always try to be nice to everyone.

He hates bullying. He was bullied by some Na'vi and he suffered a lot. He still feels very ridiculous.

Despite everything he's been through he doesn't give up and goes on with life hoping for a miracle one day.

He can speak Spanish quite well.

Even though he is a boy who has lived in nature, many times he can be very intelligent and cunning. He loves science, technology and astronomy. Once he and Norm created an experiment on a flower, another fixed Jake's gun (Norm taught him how to) and he loves to look at the sky. He goes to watch it especially with Kiri. As soon as he sees a shooting star he leaps to his feet and jumps in excitement: "LOOK LOOK KIRI KIRI! A SHOOTING STAR! I SAW A SHOOTING STAR! I I'LL EXPRESS A WISH!". He points to the sky and then kneels down on the ground "praying". "I'll never tell you my wish! It's a secret!" and then he goes to tell it the whole world.

He's lazy. He falls asleep without realizing it in less than a second and then randomly wakes up: "Did I just..fell asleep??"

He suffers from insomnia. He oftentimes has nightmares and when he has them he goes to sleep with Kiri. The kid is too scared.

He listens to pop and hip hop music.

If he had a crush he would probably be very shy and would play with his fingers whenever he saw his crush.

Totally randomly sometimes he goes to hug anyone. He once hugged Lo'ak. "Lo'ak I missed you so much!!"

He has mood swings, lack of patience and fits of rage and panic. When he has panic attacks he tends to almost tear his hair out in horror.

He's afraid of horror movies. If he looks at them twice, however, they have no effect on him. Once they were watching a horror movie in Norm's room and Spider tended to look down, hug Kiri's arm or shelter his head in Kiri's arm. "I-I have to go to the bathroom! Hehe.." At the end he never came back.

He looks like a little angel but he can be very dangerous.

Love and hate physical contact. There are times that he craves it especially from Kiri, times instead when as soon as they touch him he stiffens and does everything to walk away. He feels uncomfortable.

He loves salty more than sweet.

If he had to choose between white chocolate and dark chocolate he would choose white. He loves melting chocolate in his mouth.

He's an iPad kid.

He can be very childish and literally behaving like a child. He hugs Kiri like a baby and a koala and stays in the hug for about 10 minutes. He makes little cute noises like a kid. When he was with Quaritch he loved to watch cartoons while hugging him.

Every time he sees something he likes, he gets "stars in his eyes" and starts jumping for joy.

When he gets angry, he turns red like a little tomato.

He blushes very often.

When he is down or very tired he goes to hug Kiri. She's his only strong point.

any ideas in the Trudy Lives AU for when Spider gets taken by the recoms? her reaction? what she tells the sully’s when they admit that he was with them when he got captured? what she’d do after in the following months, planning, etc, and finally her seeing him again? sorry if this is a bit much, I am just very invested in what you’ve created.

I have actually been thinking about this for the past two days. I'm still not entirely sure sure about how it would go down, BUT! Here are my thoughts so far!

So I think it would actually happen on a day Trudy is like preoccupied with something back at High Camp. She'd had a bit of a bad feeling in her gut that day, but had elected to ignore it. The raid had gone well after all, and things were generally in their favor.

But then the Sully's come back frantic, Kiri is crying, and her blond little son (though not so little anymore) is nowhere to be seen.

Jake wants to leave right then and there to protect the clan, but Trudy forces him to stay to get a proper explanation out of him. He's trying to quickly say what happened but Kiri interrupts him and says they took him, the RDA has him.

And Trudy loses it because clearly Jake was about to leave without Spider.

Now here's where I have a bit of a dilemma. I feel like through actually watching Trudy parent Spider and Neytiri and Trudy being kind of friends, I'm not sure Neytiri would have as much hatred for the boy as she does in canon. Then again it could have been triggered again because of the appearance of the recoms. What I'm saying is maybe Neytiri would oblige Trudy here and go back for him or maybe not. I'm still debating but for the sake of canon let's go with the fact that she doesn't.

Trudy goes on a whole angry rant about what an asshole move it was to just let him be kidnapped and they have no intention of going back for him. Jake's like he's a tough kid and human he'll be fine. And she's like BULLSHIT, do you know why he's a tough kid? Because everyone aside from me made him so! And how could you say that? You don't know what they're gonna do to him. They'll do anything to find out where you are. He's SIXTEEN, Jake! SIXTEEN!

Again, don't know if Jake's friendship with Trudy here would compel him to make a rescue attempt or not, which is why my idea for this event with my Trudy Lives AU isn't solid, solid, but let's continue as if it had gone in canon.

Once she sees he's not going to budge, she's gonna be like, "I respect the fact that you're leaving to get a target off your clan's back. But I will never fucking forgive you for leaving MY kid!"

I think Trudy's spiel would have given Kiri the courage to be like hell yeah how could you leave him that's my best friend! I think the others might be too cowed by her parents' decision to actually go for him right then and there.

Right before the Sully family is going to leave, I think Kiri would run to the lab where Trudy is and tell her she wants to stay to help her get Spider back. Trudy is super touched, but she'd not going to make the same mistake Jake did and let a kid get swept up in this war. So she's like, "I appreciate it, kid, but I can't let you." Kiri starts protesting and she's like, "I can't drag you into this. The whole reason I'm pissed with your old man is because he's fine with Spider getting dragged into this, a KID getting dragged into this shitshow. And I'm not gonna do the same with you. I'm gonna get him back. Ya hear me, Kiri? I'm gonna get him back to you, alright?"

Kiri thinks that if anyone can do it, it's gonna be Trudy so she reluctantly leaves with her family.

Trudy's trained military and a practical woman first and foremost so no matter how much her mama bear instincts are raging at her to just go in guns flying to get her kid back, she sits and tries to make a plan. She ropes the other scientists into it because she knows she won't be able to do it lonewolf-style.

I think first off she'd scout out Bridgehead with the help of some (maybe three) Omatikaya warrior friends she's made over the years (if anyone has suggestions for names or personalities for them I'm all ears). But Bridghead looks basically impenetrable and she'd have no shot of getting in. Besides the whole point of Jake leaving was to get them off of the Omaticaya's backs so she can't really mobilize them to attack the base. She doubted they would follow her anyway.

So she waits, clocking guard shifts and watching. Eventually, whenever Quarritch decides to pull Spider out of the torture machine and be his Na'vi guide, Trudy starts tailing the recom group from afar.

She'd heard about the recoms but had never actually laid eyes on them herself, and seeing Wainfleet's and Quarritch's sends shivers down her spine. And those guys have her son.

For plot reasons, I think she wouldn't be able to make a move for Spider until they start raiding Metkayina clans. For drama reasons anyway. And besides, the recoms are all trained military as well but now in bodies suited to the planet. It would be no easy feat.

Now part of me wants her to go for it before then anyway and get captured. Spider says he won't do anything for Quarritch anymore if he so much as lays a hand on her, so now Trudy is also just traipsing with them as another captive.

The other part of me wants her to take her shot when the RDA is preoccupied with hunting tulkuns to send a signal to the Sully's. Amidst the chaos of the hunt, I think she would be able to drop down onto the boat unnoticed (possibly with the help of a Na'vi friend of hers' ikran and her own kestrel is nearby or something). She hides on the ship until she sees Spider come out of the mouth of the tulkun looking absolutely sick to his stomach.

Because of how long he's been with the recoms, I think they'd probably keep less of a watchful eye on him, which would allow Trudy to signal him and make a run for it under their noses. She nabs Spider and they jump off the boat together, getting picked up by her Na'vi friend along the way on the back of her ikran. It would be a good half hour to an hour before Quarritch even noticed the kid was gone since he had been busy plotting with the tulkun hunters. And he can't justify going to get them.

Luckily because Trudy's a smart and skilled adult, she'd have more spare exopacks and once Spider says there's a tracker in his, she gives another one and they ditch his somewhere in the middle of the ocean or something.

From here, Trudy would probably pilot her kestrel towards Awa'atlu. I imagine that she's such a good pilot, she'd long since disabled any tracking signals or anything from her kestrel and flies solo/manually (so the RDA can't track her). She's going there because as pissed as she is with Jake for leaving her son and running, she knows he deserves to know how close Quarritch is and what his plans are.

I'd imagine in this version, since Trudy got him back NETEYAM DOESN'T DIE AND ALL IS WELL.

Need Jake to do some apologizing and shit but well that's out of the scope of this question rn.

I think the interaction between Quaritch and spider provide an opportunity to explore that. But maybe I'm giving James cameron too much credit. Its also cool to see character designs that are still including that contrast of Navi bodies with human clothing/hairstyles. Also they hot hehe.

Good point! The transhumanist implications of consciousness and personality transfer are def interesting and tbh its largely what made Quaritch such a suprisingly interesting character in AWOW despite his return as the main antagonist again. Seeing how he handles his consciousness transition in his new body and new relationship w Spider will def be something I anticipate (tho i do worry abt how Cameron will handle it lol).

Tbh yea i agree w this!! One of my fave things abt scifi is the cool integration of civilization and alien life. I love concept designs of how daily life or tools and functional things like clothing would look on otherworldly beings and the concept of an humanoid-alien adapting to human life.

So many things to consider in designs like how pants would make room for a tail, and how scale and proportion of objects differs from human view, and how certain capabilities, like hightened sight and hearing senses, would affect anything from building designs to speech and other mannerisms. Also like u said its cool to see the variability in mixing human and Na'vi genes. I love seeing the variation in the different designs of the recoms and how closely they resemble the human forms but also differ from the Na'vi enough to be distinctly "artificial" (originated in vitro)

Tbh im not much of a military aesthetics enthusiast, but i have always liked armor designs. I can def appreciate a slutty tanktop and army boots on anybody 😩. They fit Recom Quaritch and his stupid grin just nicely! (Also personally for me, the Na'vi and subsequent avatars are attractive in an alien way, though i do wish their body types were a lot more varied).

It is a well known fact that small mama will care for any child. No matter who or what. Spider Soccorro is no different. 

When she first met spider as a baby, she thought he was cute. His little chubby cheeks, wide innocent eyes, bright smile. A little angel. 

When she learned who his parents were, especially his father. Things slightly shifted. Once the information reached Jake and neytiri, opinions and sides were formed. 

Neytiri began to hate spider from the start once she learned of his blood lineage. Wouldn't listen to reason, wouldn't care to see anything beyond the demon that ruined everything. All she ever saw in spider was his father. Which began to cause some problems. 

So small mama did something she thought she would never do behind her mates. Hide a secret. What is that secret? Visiting baby spider as often as she can, almost every day. When she isn't needed, or when neytiri has it covered on the children, small mama would make some excuse to leave and see spider. 

The more time she spends with spider, the more in love small mama gets. Spider has seen her enough times that he gets so excited to see her, hear her voice. Would shriek and shout, wiggling around to get her attention. 

In spiders mind, small mama is his real mama. Would at times accidently call her “mama”. Small mama wouldn't dare to correct him. Why would she? Spider needs someone to look after him constantly, the other humans are too busy to properly care for a child. 

So she unofficially adopts spider. Though she knows that at some point, small mama will have to tell her two mates. That is something she dreads, unsure how they will react to such news. Especially neytiri. 

When the secret was revealed, there were many things small mama was prepared for. Neytiri remaining silent for days was something small mama was not prepared for. Not even jake. 

After long weeks of silence from neytiri, she demanded some private talk with small mama.

On purpose small mama would bring spider with her. 

They would talk, disputes and all the common things that would happen. But by the power of spider’s cuteness and small mama’s  wise words, neytiri had come to accept spider. 

With time and patience, small mama made sure to close the gap between the two, in giving spider the love and the family he deserved, and helping neytiri overcome her fears and trauma. 

As spider grows, the dynamic changes. 

Despite the other sully siblings being close to their small mama, spider holds small mama in a specific spot in his heart. 

Yes spider loves his two other parents. Jake is a wonderful dad, the best he could ever have. Neytiri is strong, strict yet shows her way of showing love to him. Small mama is the one who understands him on a human level. 

Spider sees himself as the ultimate small mama protector. He proves himself time and time again. Yes it makes his other siblings be a bit jealous but haters are gonna hate. 

Small mama love spider as much as she loves the rest of her children. She has no favorites. It is just that each child needs different kinds of affection, love, affirmation, and so on. 

Spider is the type who needs constant praise, hugs, and physical love. He is confident in his skills, but it is good to have his family back him up in positive ways. 

The times neytiri and jake spend alone time with spider, small mama cant help but feel happy and proud at seeing how far they have come along. Spider is a sully through and through. And to hell with it, small mama will make sure spider knows every damn day.

why Spider haters make me want to kms? Because i hate the fact that people totally forgot about Spider's character and that he is a living being too with emotions and ways of doing, just watching Loak or Neteyam and their trauma because they're "hot" (they're minors too so i hate when they sexualize them) making me hate them because of the FANDOM. So sometimes when i say i'm obsessed with Avatar i just mean Spider ok? Cuz i really was the only one who liked Spider from the START, but really, the START START. Cuz SOME of you guys just watched Avatar for "hot Na'vis" totally forgetting about the plot of the movie. So you love them just cuz they're FINE and in case of Spider, you guys didn't want to understand WHY he did that. WHY YOU JUST SAY: "because he saved his dad" WITHOUT EVEN UNDERSTANDING WHY HE SAVED HIS DAD AND TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE MOTIVATION FOR THIS CHOICE AND HIS CHARACTER, even making up shits like: "it's all Spider's fault. It should've been Spider" KNOWING THAT IT WASN'T SPIDER AND THAT YOU'RE WRONG?? It was LOAK'S choice to save his brother, Spider didn't ask him by telepathy and has absolutely nothing to do with it💀 Grow up brooo, grow up. Think before you speak. Tsireya and Spider + Writing Update

So I don't know WHY but it's very important to me that Tsireya and Spider get along. Like in planning my big Spider project a scene with him and Tsireya randomly popped into my head and it is now canon to me. I just think that Tsireya has a very calming aura and I think Spider would actually be able to relax around her which is rare for him since he always has to be on edge. In my mind, they spend a lot of just quiet time together and Spider likes that she doesn't ask him questions so he doesn't ask her questions. Just a very pure friendship/companionship in my mind. 

This is especially important to me because I want Spider to be adopted by the Tonowari family and I think as he's learning to accept the newfound unconditional love for his parents, Tsireya would be his rock, a presence he feels comfortable around as he learns that it's ok to accept this love and parenting that has always seemed so out of reach to him. 

Like I just imagine Spider sitting quietly on the beach having been either overstimulated or upset about something and it's Tsireya who seeks him out, sitting next to him quietly, not doing anything. And eventually, he just lays his head on her shoulder, a tiny sign of relying on her, and he loves that she doesn't make a big deal out of it.

ALSO writing update on big project! It is officially 15 pages long and nothing big has even really happened yet so I guess this is definitely going to be a really long fic. So look forward to it I guess? 

Got to write Tonowari's perspective recently and that was interesting to explore so yay.
