Three children who were found dead with a man at a house in Surrey were all aged under four, police have said.
The man was Polish national Piotr Swiderski. Police have confirmed all four found in the house in Staines, on Saturday, were related.
Neighbours said they believed a young Polish family with three boys, including twins, lived at the house, where a tribute outside said: "Rest in peace little ones. We will always think of you."
Police said post-mortem examinations and formal identification would take place in due course.
Surrey Police said it was called by the ambulance service to the house in Spelthorne, at about 13:15 BST on Saturday.
The force said it was investigating and had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), due to previous contact with the family.
It said at this stage, officers believed it was an isolated incident with no third-party involvement.
The mother of the children and next-of-kin were aware, it added, and were being supported by specialist officers.
Det Ch Insp Gareth Hicks said: "This is a truly tragic incident and a thorough investigation is under way to establish exactly what happened.
"We would like to thank the local community for their support and understanding whilst we have been conducting our enquiries."
He said Bremer Road, which was was closed "for a significant amount of time" on Saturday, had fully reopened, and there would continue to be a police presence in the area "for the foreseeable”.
Lisa Townsend, Surrey's Police and Crime Commissioner, said she was being kept regularly updated by senior officers as the investigation progressed.
She added: "My thoughts are with the family, friends and local community."
A spokesman for the IOPC said on Saturday it had been notified by Surrey Police about the "tragic incident".
They added: "We will be assessing a referral from the force to decide whether any action is required by the IOPC."
Tim Oliver, leader of Surrey County Council, said: “Everyone at Surrey County Council is devastated to learn of the tragic loss of life in our community, and our thoughts are with those who knew the family.
"I would encourage people not to speculate on the circumstances, and let Surrey Police carry out their investigations."

Councils spending more on debt than on providing services - see how much your council spends | UK News
Sky News analysis has found that two Surrey councils spend more on interest and paying back loans than they do on services, like transport and social care. Neighbouring borough councils Spelthorne and Runnymede have said they have had to make investments in response to government cuts. Both councils’ investment has mainly been in commercial property, which they rent out for a profit. In 2021/22,…

A flashback to 2015, when I visited the area of Shepperton for a 4.5 mile walk. Shepperton is a suburban town/village in the borough of Spelthorne, Surrey in the former historic county of Middlesex in England, 15 miles (24 km) south west of Charing Cross, London, bounded by the Thames to the south and in the north-west bisected by the M3 motorway. Shepperton is equidistant between the north Surrey towns of Chertsey and Sunbury-on-Thames. Shepperton is mentioned in a document of 959 CE and in the Domesday Book, where it was an agricultural village. In the early 19th century resident writers and poets included Haggard, Peacock, Meredith and Shelley, allured by the Thames which was painted at Walton Bridge here in {Source Wikipedia} #shepperton #suburban #town #village #spelthorne #borough #surrey #county #england #river #thames #riverthames #domesdaybook #agricultural #walk #wikipedia #photo #outdoors #natural #view #naturephotography #fujifilm #tonywisemanphotography #tonywiseman #sky #clouds #blue #white #trees #green 02-09-15 - Shepperton 4.5 Mile Walk (at Shepperton) https://www.instagram.com/p/CB7kb4xFsOR/?igshid=1r00ae3mgqoua

Rare Historic Coins Found in England During Excavation Work
Excavation work has uncovered evidence of 'limited medieval activity' within the area of the new Spelthorne Leisure Centre
A selection of coins has been found as part of excavation work for the new Spelthorne Leisure Centre. The excavation work took place between October and December of 2021, and some discoveries were from as far back as the BC era.
And it wasn't just coins. The total number of metal finds recovered by Foundations Archaeology during the excavation include a selection of rarities - 60 Roman bronze coins, a gold Tasciovanus Warrior Stater coin of the Iron Age (20BC to AD10), silver 8th century Saxon Sceat coin, a Henry III silver short-cross penny and a 16th century silver finger ring.
A statement from Foundations Archaeology reads: "The excavation followed an earlier phase of investigation which suggested the presence of limited Medieval activity within the area of the proposed new leisure centre. Excavation of the area revealed the earliest archaeology on the site to date from the Neolithic period (4000– 2500BC). Three Neolithic pits containing large amounts [of] charcoal and worked flint were located. One of the Neolithic pits contained a broken polished stone axe whilst the other two pits contained the fire shattered remains of polished stone knives."
"Adjacent to the Neolithic pits were two well preserved Bronze Age round barrow ring-ditches; one with a largely intact central cremated burial contained within an inverted pot, located along the edge of a former waterway. These barrows were funerary monuments used between approximately 2500 and 700BC which may also have had an important function in relation to legitimising landholding and the construction of social hierarchies. In addition to the Prehistoric features, a series of Roman rubbish pits and a single Medieval cess pit, were found across the investigated area."
These are not the first unusual historic finds in the area from recent years - 2016 work on the town centre uncovered a mysterious mummified cat body at the site of an old shoe shop.
Spelthorne Museum, curated by Nick Pollard, looks forward to displaying some of the latest finds in future, but it will be a while before he is able to do so. A more detailed report on the discovery is expected to uncover more findings.
Mr Pollard says: "We are very excited about these important finds which will be coming to the museum, not just for their own sake but what they tell us about the story of Staines in the past. It's a reminder that people have been living here for thousands of years. I would like to emphasise that it may be some time before the museum receives them, as the excavators will need them while writing their report. We will let the public know when they are on display."

CHARACTERS :    LORD HENSHINGLY R. CROFT
The eldest son of Lord Eldridge Croft II, Earl of Abbingdon and prominent figure of Britain’s industrialist-era, and Lady Margot Peletier, a famous stage actress from France, Henshingly Croft was born in 1884, followed closely behind by two younger sisters, Florence and Maude, in 1886 and 1887.
Like his father, Henshingly Croft was a staunch academic, rather than a creative like his mother, with whom he clashed quite famously, finding himself at-odds with her wildly extroverted and irrepressible nature. However, unlike his father (whom had an archetypal Type B personality, dabbled in and out of various pursuits, and was not overly concerned about his social status), he was comparatively rigid, ambitious, organised, and almost unhealthily obsessed with the swift trajectory of his career. Even so, the two were particularly close throughout his childhood, until Lord Eldridge Croft’s death in 1899.
Once having finished his Cambridge University education in 1904, with family name and connections as well as a reputation of his own, Lord H. Croft found it relatively easy to fall into gainful employment, whilst establishing himself as a prominent member of the Liberal Party, being elected as an MP for Spelthorne in 1910. Being a charismatic man, as well as possessing a certain amount of intrigue, Lord H. Croft found himself to be very popular with both his constituents and his peers, seen as a man of solid repute, in spite of the general regard towards Jewish people in Britain at the time.
In 1911, he met and married a Spanish-Guatemalan socialite, Aemilia de Millau.
Inevitably, his political career was to be put on-hold during the Great War, wherein he served as a Lieutenant in the British Army from 1914. However, this interval was a relatively short one, for he would return to England after being injured in the the Battle of Gallipoli, suffering extensive burns to his left arm and left leg. From then on, he would need to walk with a cane for the rest of his life.
In 1916′s General Election, he was reelected as MP for Spelthorne. Liberal Prime Minister David Lloyd George welcomed him into his Cabinet, appointing him as Lord Privy Seal and Leader of the House of Lords.
In the meantime, Lady A. Croft fell pregnant with their first and only child, giving birth to their daughter, Lara, in 1917. The pregnancy and birth, however, was fraught with difficulties, and she would be diagnosed with ‘puerperal insanity’.
The family eventually relocated to Shimla, India, once Lord H. Croft was appointed the position as Viceroy of India in 1923. In 1926, mother and daughter were declared missing, Lady A. Croft’s body being found a week later. Two weeks after that, having also been presumed dead, Lara would wander into the family’s property.
Following her death and the sensationalised accounts printed in British newspapers at the time, Lord H. Croft withdrew from public society. A few months after returning to England, having buried Lady Aemilia Croft in the Undercroft of Croft Manor, he sent his daughter to attend boarding school and, later, a finishing school in Switzerland. Once having done so, he dismissed his daughter’s Ayah, Shruthi Nadar, once Lara left Croft Manor, not bothering to pay for her board or travel back to India, in spite of her years of faithful service towards the family, and her being one of the few loving role models Lara had.
Eleven years later, in 1937, having lived the past decade as a recluse and neglected his role as a father, Lord H. Croft’s body was found by his valet, having died from an apparent suicide. The circumstances surrounding his death, however, continue to be surrounded by much contention.

A QUAINT TOWN IN ENGLAND
Sunbury-on-Thames, also known as Sunbury, is a town in an outer London suburb, that’s near Spelthorne in Surrey - as in south-east England. Sunbury is 16 miles from Central London. The town has 2 railway stations an contains parks, pubs and heritage buildings, and is home to Kempton Park Racecourse. Offices and hotels form part of its economy. Retail buildings are at Sunbury Cross and in four parades. By Sunbury Park is a public walled garden which has a large millennium tapestry in its art gallery/café.
