some good news!! the spanish state's ministry of equality has finally passed one of the most progressive trans laws on the planet, shielded free and universal access to abortion and banned conversion therapy and genital surgery for intersex babies, among a lot of other feminist policies. the minister of equality irene montero gave a speech thanking spain's lgtb and trans associations for helping her draft these legislations. couldn't be more proud!!

The Spanish far-left is stepping up its pressure on Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for Madrid to suspend all arms deals with Israel that are currently in force and urgently implement a ‘full arms embargo’ on Tel Aviv. Since the start of Israel's military offensive following the Hamas terrorist attacks of 7 October 2023, voices within the Spanish far-left have grown louder, denouncing what they describe as the ‘genocide’ of the Palestinian people and demanding that Spain sever diplomatic and trade relations with Israel. “Our obligation (in the government) is to step up our efforts and do everything in our power to stop the ongoing genocide that is taking place in Gaza”, sources at the Ministry of Social Rights said on Wednesday. The Minister of Social Rights, Pablo Bustinduy, has this week sent a letter to the Spanish Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles (PSOE/S&D), requesting that Spain suspend any ongoing arms sales contracts with Israeli companies. Robles on Wednesday stressed that since the Hamas attacks last year, which left 1,200 Israelis dead, Spain has only contracted with the Israeli military industry for the repair of parts, El País reported.

"As far as we know, Ende was a Spanish illustrator who lived in the late 10th century and is regarded as the first female European artist to be recorded. She spent a portion of her life at San Salvador de Tábara Monastery in Tábara, Kingdom of León in Medieval Spain. According to the research of John Williams, one of the most eminent experts in Spanish medieval art, Ende may not have been a nun but rather belonged to a group of noble women from León who, during those years, rejected both convent life and instead managed their wealth and in a sense decided to go their way.
The Tabara scriptorium, which generated some of the Spanish Middle Ages’ most significant codices, was a cultural lighthouse at the time. Ende felt tremendously at ease working and living at Tábara Monastery, according to her illuminated manuscripts. Above all, it brought Ende closer to the dominant cultural movement of the day, recognizing the need to preserve sacred passages and everlasting images, working for her faith and herself."

I’ve never had particularly strong feelings about charles leclerc but this weekend has made me see him in a very different light.
he started off with a very unsportsmanlike tap at lando’s car out of pure rage (in a free practice at that) and got away with just a reprimand and now after a critical and emotional race for his teammate (a teammate who’s been by his side for 4 years, has always been second to him, had laid himself bare so he could win in monaco, was at his last home race with the team) basically went on air to not only shit on what went down in the race but also slight him as a racer itself. that was honestly disgusting and so incredibly disrespectful. it doesn’t match with the selfless and sensitive driver he’s usually painted as, that’s all I’m saying.

Real question what’s up with reporters asking unprofessional questions to drivers because Logan during media day Thursday got asked by French TV how it feels to be the slowest driver in F1 and to me there is a fine line of what is okay to ask and what’s completely off limits and those questions should be off limits because what type of answer do they expect from him??
