regarding tf2 and the 7th comic

i see (an unexpected) ammount of people saying team fortress 2 is over, particularily on reddit, and i really just want to say this.

What is done/over/finished, whatever you wanna call it, are the comics, the story, the lore. Just because the tf2 comics are finished doesnt mean valve is going to take tf2 of steam or stop supporting the servers, or something along those lines.

The game is not over, people are playing it, people are talking about it, drawing fanart of it, discussing about it, to say its "over" is stupid.

I understand if you do not want to play it, id you are done with the game, completly understable, good for you, but that doesnt mean that everyone is going to just stop playing.

There are many games with stories that are finished, that are done, and people are still playing them, and i dont think mentioning this is even necesary to understand that the game is not over.

sorry for the big ass rant but god damn it, some of yall (not tumblr) are taking the 7th comic like the bible.

the 7th tf2 issue coming out after a 7 year hiatus and with a 7 year timeskip. its so funny i cant even be the least bit annoyed about how long it took

In tf2 we take respawn as a given, just as an in-universe mechanism, no big deal.

But imagine... How actually painful and scary it is to die. Even if consciously you know that you will return, the fear of death is instinctive, your body will always roar and fight for it's life. Experiencing the closeness of death is a great trauma. It's exhausting and it's imprinted on your subconscious.

Now, imagine that you die an average of 10 times every day. You reap the trauma of death, you get up, you immediately go into the fight and don't think about it, and then it goes on and on again. You don't even have room to process the pain. You keep putting it off for later, but then when is that?

I wonder if mercenaries have nights when they just let themselves weep out their lings from all that accumulated pain. Even if logically they know there is no danger - the instinct for self-preservation hurts VERY badly. The trauma is primal.

They're all definitely not healthy there in that kind of system.
