Dan & Matt:

They have two boys, Jace and Abram Boyd, one year apart (Abram wasn’t planned hehe) by the time Dan is 32.

Dan/Matt aren’t religious, but they still assign godparents to their kids. Jace’s godparents are Wymack and Abby, Abram’s are Neil and Renee.

At first Neil said no. He didn’t think that responsibility was something he could handle until he eventually got a call from Renee. “I know why you’re calling me” “I figured you would. I warned Matt and Dan that you may not respond in the way they wish, they don’t take it personally,” she’d said. Neil knew it wasn’t personal, but he admitted he also didn’t see the point and couldn’t be cut out for that. “I think you may misunderstand their intentions, may I try to clear it up?” Renee explained that, really, it was only a title, a glorified uncle of sorts, since the boys weren’t getting baptized and they weren’t putting their godparents in their will’s like old tradition did. “It’s a way to showcase the love and trust they have in others; you, me, Coach Wymack and Abby”. “It is an excuse to spoil them rotten,” Andrew had added when he talked to Neil. Renee told Matt to wait a bit, not to push, and a week later when Neil was randomly on the phone w Matt he said “I’ll do it, by the way. The kid thing- The godfather thing.”

Naming Abram was a struggle. They wanted something meaningful since Jace’s middle name was David. It wasn’t until Dan asked Matt what Neil’s middle name was that they got cookin. Neil was in the off season when he was born, so he drove out (accompanied by Andrew) to Atlanta from Columbia and they asked Neil when he got there.

Their backup name was Joshua (aka Josten) in case Neil wasn’t comfortable with Abram. Luckily it only took a few minutes of blue-screening for Neil to shake it off and allow it. Abram was Neil’s one real name, the one thing he’d kept all those years, the thing that made him feel grounded and safe. But Neil was 27. He hadn’t needed the name since he first moved away from PSU at 23 and was alone again. The kid deserved something safe.

ANYWAY. Jace is a certified hetero and goes to University of Miami for college. He grew up playing exy and baseball but once he was a sophomore in high school he quit exy and stuck to baseball all through high school. He’s 5���10.

Abram plays midfielder for soccer and used to play backliner for exy. Abram goes to PSU and rooms with Elliot (Andriel’s adopted kid, just wait it’ll make sense i promise), joins a campus soccer team, then makes the PSU team his sophomore year as a walk on.

Abram is 6’1. Has massive game but doesn’t use it bc he’s kinda oblivious. Very silly and energetic and comes off flirty sometimes when he’s just being nice and goofy. He later attributes it to the fact that he didn’t know he was bisexual until senior year of high school.

Abram fucking fawns over Elliot 3 months into living together bc he realizes he’s kinda in love with him. Never lets it show bc he won’t ruin their friendship and plus they share a room tg. Def foams at the mouth when Elliot comes back sweaty and shirtless from runs. Once Elliot is eating a banana and out of nowhere says “You ever eat a banana and wonder how the fuck girls suck dicks?” in the dining hall and Abram chokes on his drink so bad it comes out of his nose. Horrified.

Neil & Andrew (ik hold on):

Andriel had no intention of ever having kids bc no.

However, when Andrew and Neil are 42/43 and living in South Carolina again, Andrew notices that there are footprints in Neil’s garden. Then he sees it again and sees that the footprints continue towards the shed in the backyard. He checks their cameras to see that it’s a young girl coming and going with Neil’s electric bike a few nights a week from 12am-4am. The third time he waits inside the shed and promptly scares the living shit out of her.

QUICK VERSION: Andrew catches Blake sneaking into their backyard shed and borrowing Neil’s electric bike at night a few times a week, lets her use Neil’s old raggedy bike that hasn’t seen the light of day in years, turns a blind eye when she returns it run over, gives her bus money instead, goes back and forth with her for like 1.5 months, points out the bruise & bandages she shows up with one night while he’s sitting outside at 12am (insomnia), doesn’t see her for 2 months, shows up at the 24 hour CVS she works at 3-4 nights a week and sees the bruises on her hand and throat through her turtleneck while she thought no one was looking, threatens to call the police post-shift at 4am and sits with her through a panic attack bc “He’ll- I’m only 15, they’ll make me quit my job and we can’t to afford- and they’ll split us up, and he- Elliot won’t- he can’t- oh my god” and then takes her to his house w consent, briefs Neil bc those kids need to get out of that house but they’re not staying here, Neil who somehow takes it all without a second thought and says “well not forever, but definitely for the night”, takes Blake and Neil (awk first meeting) to Blake’s house and gets Elliot out of the house while their dad is gone (Elliot has a black eye and bruises from rough fingers on his forearm and says dad left in a rampage when he saw u were gone, and i told you that job wasn’t fucking worth it).

Elliot doesn’t trust either of the men after what his sister protected him from and doesn’t know wtf is happening bc he thought Blake had been borrowing her friend’s bike. They stay in Andriel’s guest bedroom for the day, Abby is retired by now but only lives 45 minutes away. Neil takes charge of calling her despite Andrew thinking there’s more pressing matters like kidnapping 2 teenagers. “You didn’t kidnap us, idiot, we came with you” Blake says.

Long story short, the siblings end up staying with them longer than they thought due to lawyers and police and safety.

It becomes kind of a lost and found situation. What was once “while we get legalities figured out” became “until your father’s trial is over”, which stretched into “no way they’re getting sent to XYZ” and “until they can find someone competent enough to handle trainwreck’s, they’re stuck here” and “Dan won’t care if we bring them to Thanksgiving, right?” “Amalia’s been playing exy since she could walk, Kevin, Elliot started a year ago” “Elliot knows Santa isn’t real, right? That stops at, like, 12?” “I’m not teaching her to drive, I’ll get myself killed” “If your mouth gets you kicked out of school, don’t come crying to me” “Addie & Annie keep telling Blake to spend a weekend in Atlanta” “I’m not telling her not to date, she scares me” “Just because your mother wasn’t worse doesn’t mean she was good”

Until one day, two and a half years later, Blake hands Neil an application for adoption, who tilts it towards Andrew, who silently takes it and begins to fill it out.

Blake is 5’0, Elliot is 5’9. Blake is blonde and Elliot has light brown hair, and while they’re not ghostly pale, both of them burn in the sun in .2 seconds.

Elliot does cross country and was training for a 10k when they left their dad so Neil gladly continues that. He’s in awe when he finds out who Andrew and Neil really are, not because he knows their names but bc once he watches their old games it’s like watching gods to him. He’s a true golden retriever which isn’t helped by his ADHD, anxiety and mild dyslexia, which he doesn’t get medicated for until he’s 16.

When Elliot was 13 he almost drowned in a lake bc he was never taught how to swim. When their dad found out he took him back to the lake against his will and kept tossing him in the lake until he kept himself afloat enough to pull himself up onto the dock, nearly coughing up water. It was so traumatic to a young kid that Elliot had a problem with bodies of water after that. Instead of being fine just not going in, he avoids pools or lakes entirely. Beaches are give or take since he can sit far up on the sand.

Elliot watches exy with Neil and feels cool about it; latches onto King instantly and vice versa bc she’s an ESA and his anxiety is through the roof half the time.

Elliot gels very quickly with Jace and Abram when Andriel brings them to Thanksgiving at the Boyd’s house. Once he gets the boys’ numbers they add him and Blake to the groupchat they have with Kateaaron’s, Kevin’s, and Allison’s kids.

Later, when Elliot goes to college at PSU, he and Abram room together. They become even more attached at the hip (impossible) and Elliot becomes infatuated with Abram in a totally normal way that he eventually figures out by spring break is definitely bc he wants to fuck him. But Elliot is chaotic and too anxiety ridden to ever make a move so he bides his time being innocently flirty that comes off as being silly, and doesn’t complain when Abram wraps his arms around him or lets him sleep back to back in Abram’s bed after Elliot has a bad nightmare or can’t turn his brain off at night.

Eventually, sophomore year when they live in a house with 3 other guys, Elliot climbs into Abram’s bed face down after a night out, almost half on top of Abram. They’re literally both so drunk. “You’re in my bed,” Elliot slurs. “S’my bed, babe”. Elliot lifts himself up on his elbow over Abram’s (warm and shirtless) chest. “Who you callin babe?” Abram giggles lowly and Elliot leans down and kisses his cheek, “You can be my babe, babe” he boops Abram’s nose and giggles drunkenly, and his head is dipped low already when he lets his lips lightly press down on Abram’s chin, simply touching, before actually pressing a kiss there after a second. Abram’s hand comes up just as he presses that second kiss down, tangling into Elliot’s hair, and when Elliot pulls his head back up Abram’s grip tightens. Abram tilts his chin up and kisses just beside Elliot’s mouth, pulling him down fully and kissing him deep after the two pause against each other for less than a moment.

Aka, they hardcore make out. We’re talking ass grabbing, lib biting, neck sucking, Elliot straddling Abram, a bit of dry humping, Abram pressing him down into the mattress and moving down to-

Anyway, when they wake up Elliot runs to the bathroom connected to Abram’s room to throw up, and when he notices Abram come to the doorway he says “Dude, you sucked my dick” into the toilet bowl “you’re, like, really good at it, too” immediately wretches again. And it’s probs the hazy hangovers, but Abram says, “Yeah, been wanting to do that for a while” “Thank god, I’ve been dreaming about you doing that since last year… Hey, B?” Abram hums and Elliot doesn’t even lift his face from his arms over the toilet seat before asking “Wanna go out with me?” cue gagging, but luckily Abram splashes his face w water and leans down to just kiss the back of Elliot’s neck “oh that was hot” Elliot mumbles. “Yes, I’ll go out with you” “Thanks… Hey B?” another hum “Can you start the shower and also kill me while you’re at it?” “Whatever you want, babe”

Junior year Abram has to live at Fox Tower but Elliot and the other 3 guys stick together. Except Abram is closer with these guys so he ends up sleeping in Elliot’s bed like 4-5 nights a week. Elliot is an absolute THEIF of clothes too, like if Abram comes over he’s going home without a hoodie.

Elliot calls him B or Bram, most recently babe. Abram calls him baby, El, and sometimes sugar when they’re alone.

Blake is queer too which Neil gets really relieved by because how tf do u give a girl the talk. Turns out Andrew had already done it bluntly and against her will when she first went on a date at 16.

Blake doesn’t go to uni but gets her associates at a community college and Allison somehow gets her an internship with a PR agency, shocking considering her no-filter and sailors mouth.

Aaron & Katelyn:

They have identical twin girls: Annalise and Addison.

The twins are… not planned… they’re 26 and Aaron’s in his last semester of med school while Katelyn is nearing the end of her first year of residency (bc exy players 5th year). Thankfully Aaron had already been matched with the hospital Katelyn was at for his residency.

Aaron gets genuinely terrified when she tells him over the phone like 3 days before he was due to visit. He calls Andrew bc it’s too soon and this isn’t supposed to happen and he doesn’t know how to be a parent when the only one he had was a piece of shit and it’s the first time Andrew hears him audibly diss Tilda without adding “but she was my mom”. Andrew doesn’t say much, but he does say “You had a terrible childhood, yes?” “I mean, yeah” “Good. Don’t replicate it, and maybe yours won’t hate you.” and it’s enough.

All of this is thrown out the window when they find out they’re having twins. Aaron almost faints.

Annalise’s nickname is Annie and sometimes Anna by school friends. She has zero preference between the three options.

Addison rarely gets called her full name other than teachers, gets called Addie.

Andrew calls them both by their full names.

Katelyn has no middle name, so when her and Aaron get married she made Mackenzie her middle name and took Aaron’s surname.

Aaron calls his girls Ad/Addie-baby and Anna-bear.

Addie’s middle name is Mackenzie, Annie’s is Nichola…. you know why🥹

When Katelyn has to full name them she’ll typically yell “Annalise Nick!” and “Mackenzie!”

Aaron didn’t like the nickname Annie bc she’s a redhead and “orphan annie” felt weird bc he and Andrew are orphans. But Katelyn loved the name and it came naturally from others so he got over it.

Addie is bisexual aromantic. Annie is straight.

Addie goes to University of Georgia, and Annie goes to PSU for their really good speech pathology program (the twins are a year older than Jace/Blake and 2 years older than Abram/Elliot so Annie was the first kid to go to PSU).

The twins grew up in Chicago until they were 11, then moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Since they’re close to U Georgia, Addie tells her parents they’re only allowed to visit when she says so she’s not suffocated. Annie is more of a homebody so she not only loves that Dan is at PSU, but would let Kateaaron visit every weekend if they wanted (daddy’s girl).

Allison:

Maybe she gets married maybe she doesn’t, regardless I like to think she doesn’t for a while and ends up adopting a 3 year old named Sabrina.

Sabrina grows up to be a natural honey blonde just like Allison and coincidentally has her same smokey grey eyes.

Queen of nicknames: Sab, Bri, Brina, Briners, Reynolds.

Sabrina never puts a label on her sexuality and is pretty fluid with it, just doesn’t rlly give a fuck.

Grows up in Miami but they go to NYC every winter break and normally 1-2 times every summer. Grew up traveling with Allison but not enough that it affects her childhood.

Goes to NYU. Eventually helps Allison run, design, model for her fashion empire.

Has like a million followers on Instagram, has modeled for Victoria Secret, has been a brand ambassador for Moschino and goes to Paris fashion week w Allison every year once she’s 16.

Since the Foxes go on vacation every summer together, Sabrina grows up very close with the twin girls since they’re the same age. Brina and Addie *experimented* together when they were younger bc they didn’t wanna go to college not knowing anything. Since then, every time they see each other they end up hooking up. They’re very touchy feely with one another, but Brina is kinda like that anyway. Addie only tolerates her and Annie being like that.

They jokingly call their situation “best friends who bone”. Realistically, they’re in a (long distance lol) queerplatonic relationship that just includes sex. Annie secretly thinks Sabrina is aro as well but keeps it to herself bc it doesn’t matter to label it.

Kevin & Thea:

Amalia Day🫶🏼

Youngest of the kids, 3 years younger than Abram/Elliot. They weren’t necessarily concerned with the prospect of kids, so she isn’t born until Kevin is 32 and Thea is 36, not even a full year after she retires due to one too many knee injuries. She goes to Kevin one day after practice and kinda straight up says, “I want a child- No” she cuts him off “I’m 36, I want to be a mother, I want to be a mother with you, and I don’t want to be seventy when she goes off to college” but Kevin just says “She?” “Yes, I’m not bringing another spitting image of Kevin Day into this world”.

Clearly, they do have a girl. Despite Thea’s blunt and sometimes abrasive approach to some things, she takes to being a mother with all the gentle-ness that Kevin remembers of his own, and it’s enough to calm him about being a father (bc we all know Kevin was shitting his pants the whole time).

Amalia is tanner than Kayleigh was, but it’s unnerving how similar she looks to Kayleigh. It makes Wymack a complete pushover for her (though he always says no at first just to say he did).

Amalia grows up playing exy, of course, but also soccer and dance which pains Kevin and Thea reminds him to stfu. Thankfully for him, she’s really fucking good at Exy and gives up dance by the time she’s 8 and soccer by 11.

Plays for the US Teen Exy All Stars team (idk made it up). She plays offensive dealer. Her playing becomes Kevin’s dare I say obsession, but he becomes good (by force of Wymack, Thea, Andrew and surprisingly Jean) at being normal about it- not forcing exy down her throat and pressuring her. It’s good that she’s not a striker living up to Kevin’s legacy.

Amalia makes a Twitter when she’s 16 and it lasts about 3 weeks until Kevin finds out and makes her give him her password to monitor the account. Smart, giving the family’s status and her age, but she acts like it’s the end of the world.

If it wasn’t for Wymack, she would probably be an entitled brat. He keeps her humble along with the other kids.

Terrible fucking driver. Like holy shit.

Thea learned French over the years, so they raise her speaking English and French. As a teen she says she wishes she spoke German instead since Andrew, Aaron, Neil, Nicky, Erik, Annie, Addie, and Blake (eventually) all speak it.

She eventually goes to play for USC Trojans, plays pro, and goes to the Olympics as a 4th year senior in college.

After saving (Y/N) from his handler, it was obvious that he didn't... Indulge in certain things as any normal kids would. Sure, Damian didn't too, considering his upbringing, but (Y/N) was on a whole another level of not knowing anything.

It started with chocolate. Alfred has made some chocolate cake out of nowhere and he called the others down to eat if they wanted too. Of course, everyone would do so. I mean, who wouldn't want to try Alfred's delicious creations?

Everyone jumped at the news, basically pushing each others out of the way. (Y/N) didn't understand why they would do it. It's just food. He walked in confused, sitting down. He frowned at the sight of a chocolate cake.

" What's wrong (Y/N)? " Bruce asked, digging into the sugary delight.

" I never had anything with chocolate before. I wasn't allowed to have sugar. " (Y/N) confessed and Jason nearly choked on his piece.

" No. " Jason said, in complete and utter disbelief. Everyone glanced at (Y/N), also shocked that he has never had sugar. Of any kind probably.

" How about you try it? " Bruce prompted and Alfred put a chocolate cake in front of (Y/N). He took a fork and put it in his mouth and everyone saw how gingerly he tried it.

It seemed he liked it by the way his eyes widened and the way he relaxed.

" Do you like it? " Bruce asked, clearly already knowing the answer.

" I think I would like a second slice. " (Y/N) admitted and Alfred smiled widely. It's a win and progress. (Y/N) is never the one to voice what he wants and making him explicitly say what he wants is like pulling teeth.

" Of course master (Y/N), but I'm afraid you can't have more than two per day. " Alfred said, already putting some rules down.

" Okay. " (Y/N) said. Bruce decided to put some rules down because rules are all he knows. But they were very relaxed rules. Such as at least 8 hours of sleep, some exercise and a healthy amount of vegetables.

(Y/N) is kind of afraid of Alfred. He saw that Alfred is the one to not mess with and he respected it.

(Y/N) stayed silent as he ate. Bruce already a mental note to buy more sweets for (Y/N) to try.

After the whole cake fiasco, everyone decided to help (Y/N) experience some actual fragments of childhood. So what do they decide to do?

Cartoon marathon.

Jason wanted to watch South Park because he knows (Y/N) will love it. It's pure satire and Jason loved it. Whenever he could catch some free time, he would watch it and it would take a national emergency to stop.

And that's why Jason is leading (Y/N) to the living room.

" What is South Park even? " (Y/N) asked as he entered the living room, quickly moving to his spot.

" One of the best cartoons ever made. " Jason simply said and (Y/N) shook his head.

" It's pure satire. " Dick elaborated and (Y/N) nodded in understanding. (Y/N) liked satire. He considered himself to be a sarcastic person, more so now when he lived with the Waynes. Damian and (Y/N) just communicated via sarcasm and it was fun.

They started from the first episode and (Y/N) chuckled quietly. Everyone turned their heads. Holy shit. It's a beautiful sound too, coming from (Y/N). When they make him laugh properly, they are going to commemorate it once it happens.

" What? " (Y/N) asked, looking at the all.

" You have an adorable laugh. " Jason explained and (Y/N) turned his head away. He didn't want them to see his blush. Nobody has ever told him that. There was never any type of affection from his handler. If he got a 'good job', he could consider it the best praise.

After months of digging, Bruce found (Y/N)'s birthday. Bruce is definitely going to brag about this for the years to come. And he found out just in time. It's going to be in a few days and they wanted to surprise (Y/N).

(Y/N) is observant by nature and keeping this surprise as a secret is not an easy feat. Bruce could see that (Y/N) was already suspicious, especially with the way everyone brushes him off with the exact same excuses and some times they distract him with sparring, cases and all in all just stupid things.

Alfred made a chocolate cake, now (Y/N)'s favorite and the others got him some things that they thought that (Y/N) would like. Jason had a major task of bringing (Y/N) to the dining room.

They all waited with the stuff, knowing that (Y/N) wouldn't like sudden surprise and sudden noise. (Y/N) stopped as he took in the sight of a cake with candles on them.

" Happy birthday. " Bruce said, with a smile on his face.

" What? " (Y/N) asked quietly and their faces fell.

" You never had a birthday before? " Dick asked, feeling sad for (Y/N).

" Not really. I was usually sent on missions during that time. The last one was spent on a deserted island. " (Y/N) said, shuddering at the mere memory of the mission. Bruce walked towards (Y/N) and brought him into his own embrace.

" From now on, we are going to replace all of those memories with some more precious ones. Okay? " Bruce asked and (Y/N) felt something warm in his core. Something that he has never felt before.

Everyone agreed with Bruce, joining in on the hug. (Y/N) never liked to be touched, but he has grown to like it with the others. They weren't abrasive with it and Dick was the most touchy one, he understood his boundaries.

" Can I eat the cake now? " (Y/N) asked, squished in between all of them. Everyone chuckled at the suggestion and let go of (Y/N). The celebration went by without a hitch and it was filled with smiles, even from members who don't smile to much.

Chapter 3

Hey guys! Hope you enjoy the next chapter! It’s hard to believe that we only have two more episodes left in season 2. :(

The heat of the summer sun bore into you relentlessly as you entered the loud and colorful arena where the tourney was held. You felt sweat drip down your back but were still thankful for the lighter dress you had on instead of your preferred furs.

“Lady Stark!” A feminine voice called out to you and you were surprised to see the Queen approaching you with an inviting smile.

“My Queen.” You bowed politely, wondering what exactly the Green Queen wanted from you. “It is a lovely day for the Joust.”

“Indeed it is. I heard that your brother will be riding today alongside my son.” Behind the woman stood her sworn protector, no longer able to participate in tourneys due to his role as a King’s guard. A pity seeing as how his skill would have made for an interesting watch.

“He is, my Queen, but I do hope that my brother does not face your son in the field. I would prefer it if we left the South with no broken bones.” You hoped that the flattery was not too blatant.

“Well these events tend to get bloody but I am certain your brother is more than capable of holding his own.” She looked at you in concern. “But with Lord Stark occupied, where will you sit to watch the tourney?”

You looked around at the crowded stands before shrugging slightly. “I had planned on sitting with House Manderly.” You gestured to one of your house’s bannermen before facing the queen again.

“Well you are more than welcome to join us in the family box.” And that was why the queen had such an interest in you. You remembered the conversation you had with Cregan a short while ago. “My daughter Helaena has wanted to meet you since your arrival.”

You stammered slightly as you spoke. “That is a high honor, my queen.”

You looked up at the box and were relieved to see that Princess Rhaenyra and her children were present so you would not be surrounded by only Greens. After all, to turn down such an offer would be an insult to the Crown.

“Of course, it’s no trouble. We would not want to leave you all by yourself.” The Queen continued, waiting for an answer.

“Well I would be honored to join you.” You flashed her a smile that you hoped seemed genuine before walking with her to the Royal Box. The king was nowhere to be found, perhaps still recovering from all the excitement today had already had.

Princess Rhaenyra gave you a small smile as you entered. She was sitting towards the front of the box with Prince Lucerys and his betrothed in front of her and Princess Baela Targaryen on her right.

The Queen scoffed slightly as the Princess waved you over to sit on her left obviously intending you to only interact with her children. Of those, her oldest and youngest sons were towards the front with the middle one missing, but Princess Helaena was sitting closely to her half sister.

You bowed slightly to all of them before taking the empty seat between the two princesses as the Queen sat directly behind you with her father. You also noticed The Princess Rhaenys and her husband farther back in the stands.

“Lady Stark, it is lovely to meet you.” Princess Helaena spoke softly, meeting your face with a shy smile.

“The pleasure is mine.” There were multiple squires running across the field completing last minute preparations before the joust began. “I must admit I’ve never been to a tourney before.” You whispered to the princesses. “Exactly how does this work?”

It was Princess Rhaenyra who answered. “Well, since my son Jace, Daemon, and Prince Aemond are all competing they shall pull straws to see who chooses their first opponent.” She gave you a wide grin as a large group of knights on armored horses appeared. “From there, the other knights will be paired up in a similar way and the first round will begin.”

You watched as all of the knights lined up before the royal box seeing at least 20 houses present with the higher ranking ones in the front. Your own brother was among them on top of a speckled gray horse wearing a tarnished silver armor fancier than you had ever seen him use before with a metal wolf head as his helmet. Among the more noticeable ones were the Hightowers, Tyrells, Lannisters, and all the other great houses all in expensive armor that reflected their sigils. “I hope that your journey South was pleasant.” Rhaenyra continued, changing the subject.

“It was very long but I am very excited to see the city.” You confessed, eyeing a platter of wreaths confused as they were placed in front of the group. “What are those?”

It was Helaena who answered this question. “They are wreaths.” Her mother sighed behind her obviously listening in on the conversation but Rhaenyra allowed her half sister to continue. “When a knight wins a round they can request one from a lady. If she grants it, it is her showing her favor to the man and wishing him luck in the rest of the competition.” She held up one of the red and black ones that was intricately weaved with flowers and twigs. “This one is House Targaryen’s.” Her eyes followed the curving twigs and she seemed lost in her thoughts as she spoke.

“This one is your house’s.” Rhaenyra added, gently handing you one that had white and gray flowers, your house colors.

The older Princess shot up excitedly as a long row of drummers began playing a repetitive melody. “It’s about to begin!”

Sure enough, a squat man appeared from under the box wearing a bright red ensemble with the Targaryen crest. “Introducing the Princes Daemon and Aemond Targaryen and Prince Jacaerys Velaryon!”

The crowd roared loud enough to shake the stands as three horses trotted into view. There were two black stallions with bright red saddles that had the Targaryen emblem stitched into their sides. On one you recognized Prince Aemond in black armor with red stripes lining the edges of his armor. It shone brightly in the sun as the Prince held his helm to his side. The other rider on the Targaryen mount must have been Prince Daemon. He was fully suited up in a terrifying armor that had exaggerated dragon scales and wings that reached from the sides of his helmet.

The other horse was pure white and wore a light blue saddle with the Velaryon crest. You concluded that it must be Jacaerys. “Is this your son’s first tourney, my princess?” You asked Rhaenyra keeping your gaze on the three men.

“It is, yes.” The Princess was staring at her eldest son as he and Daemon rode closer together while Aemond approached the center of the track farther from the two. “He has been training with Daemon rigorously to prepare.”

Jacaerys’ armor was a sharp silver that stood out next to the Targaryen black that the other Prince’s wore. It had a golden Seahorse engraved on the front with scales that paid homage to his Targaryen ancestry on his arms and shoulders. His helm was also held at his side.

“A first for both princes.” The Queen added in. “My son has also been looking forward to showcasing his skills.” You turned around and gave the Queen a polite smile, remembering how Prince Aemond had claimed that he ‘Didn’t give a shit about tourneys.’

“Well I am excited to see how they both fare.” You said diplomatically. “I know Cregan was also looking forward to the joust. We do not tend to hold such large gatherings up North.”

“Prince Jacaerys Velaryon will now choose his first opponent!” The man shouted, as Jacaerys put on a sleek helmet with a light blue feather before grabbing his pole from a squire at his side. You placed your wreath back on the platter as his horse trotted towards the line of noblemen.

There were hushes across the crowd as everyone waited for his choice and a loud roar rose up again when he pointed his lance at the rider from House Lannister. The Lord of the House you believed.

The other man gave Jacaearys a curt nod before steering his horse a few paces back.

“Prince Aemond Targaryen will now choose his first opponent.” At the man’s loud yell, Aemond donned his helmet and steered his horse towards where his nephew waited. His helmet was black on the bottom but became a more fiery red as it went higher and you could barely make out a line of flames engraved in it from where you sat.

His horse stamped his heavy hoof in the ground seemingly ready to begin the joust as Aemond scanned those available. The crowd quieted slightly again, trying to catch any glimpse of his thoughts.

You heard a loud gasp behind you and a disappointed sigh as Aemond’s lance pointed to the rider who bore the House Strong Crest. Your eyes flitted behind you at the noise as the Queen quickly dropped her hand from her mouth as if not to draw attention to her reaction. Her father shook his head exasperatedly before rubbing the bridge of his nose.

“And finally…” The man continued once more. “The Prince Daemon Targaryen will choose his first opponent!”

The younger of the queen’s sons, Daeron, if you remembered correctly, gave his mother a nervous look as Daemon pointed to the Hightower knight as his horse joined the other two.

You breathed a small sigh of relief that your brother would have time to warm up and acclimate to the spectacle that the tourney is before facing any of the Princes. For all your teasing he is a formidable fighter but you couldn’t help but worry as the field emptied, save for Jacaerys on one end of it and the Lannister lord on the other.

Your focus on them was severed; however, as you heard Princess Helaena mumbling something to herself. “When dragons dance the wolf is separated from the pack.”

Her words made little sense to you, was it a threat for what was to come after the king passed? Or was it a warning of some kind.

“A clash of claws and a clash of talons. The king born of both shall rule only in the night.”

“What?” You whispered softly, but it was drowned out by the sound of metal clashing loudly. You jumped at the sudden sound and returned your attention to the joust below.

Jacaerys led his horse around the fence with his lance still in his hand and his opponent on the dirt floor.

With a small gasp you leaned forward to see what would happen next. When the lord staggered up, he waved his hand dismissively before walking off the field.

“The first round goes to Prince Jacaerys!” The announcer boomed and you clapped excitedly alongside his mother.

“Prince Jacaerys is off to a wonderful start.” You remarked as they cleared the field of any wooden debris.

Rhaenyra beamed at the compliment as she watched her son leave the field on his horse with a proud smile. “Thank you Lady Stark, Jace has trained hard for this.”

You were about to continue the conversation when Aemond rode out on his horse. You felt Helaena nervously grab your skirts as his opponent lined up on the other end.

“Prince Aemond Targaryen will now ride against Ser Germund Strong!”

You grabbed Helaena’s hand and gave her a reassuring squeeze. “Your brother is going to be ok, he is a very adept fighter.”

The younger princess nodded at your words. “That’s what I’m afraid of.”

As a red flag fell, the two men urged their horses to sprint at the other at full speed. You tried not to flinch as Aemond’s lance hit the smaller man in the stomach. The boy was thrown from his horse at the impact and hit the ground with a loud thud. There were loud cheers as Aemond threw his lance to the side and the Strong boy was surrounded by squires. They seemed to fervently check him over before motioning for a stretcher to be brought out.

“Gods.” You whispered. As the men lifted the boy you saw that his arm was at an unnatural angle.

“Prince Aemond Targaryen has won his first round!”

You did not offer the Queen the same compliment you had given Rhaenyra and she seemed too busy picking at her nails to notice. Whether the nervous tick was from her worrying about her son or his competitor was something you could not figure out.

You watched the next few rounds with excitement as your brother won his match against House Celtigar. In between you managed to strike up a small conversation with Helaena about embroidery and the differences in the North from the South. It came easily and as you chatted you watched Jacaerys win his second match against a house from the Riverlands you were not familiar with.

After a friendly handshake between the two men, the prince steered his horse towards the box and removed his helmet to reveal an excited grin. You felt your cheeks blush slightly as his hair had begun to curl around his face.

“My lady Stark, I am confident in my abilities on the field; however with your favor, if you choose to grant it, I believe I will progress much farther.” He tilted his lance to you and you couldn’t stop yourself from smiling as you reached for your wreath.

“Very well fought, my prince!” You ignored the Queen’s pinched expression at Jacaerys’s request and slid your wreath onto his outstretched pole. “I look forward to seeing more of you on the field.”

Jacaerys gave you a respectful nod before steering his horse away from the box. Your heart was beating impossibly fast as he left.

Rhaenyra beamed at you as you returned to your seat. “I am grateful for your favor, Lady Stark.” You fiddled with your fingers, looking down at your hands with a blush. “And I know Jace is as well. He had practiced that request more times then I can remember.”

You smiled wider at her words feeling more heat rush to your cheeks. Your gaze rose from your skirts as you tried to refocus on the tourney below but froze at Prince Aemond’s icy expression.

He was staring at you intently with a scowl on his face that made your blood run cold. Your eyes met for a brief moment and he shot you a cruel looking grin before saying something to the announcer below him.

“Prince Aemond Targaryen has chosen to face off against Lord Cregan Stark in his next match!” You gasped as you heard your brother’s name. And the Queen whispered something unintelligible to her father beside her.

It was Rhaenyra who placed a reassuring hand in yours as Cregan lined up on the other end of the field. You were thankful she didn’t expect you to talk as the red flag was raised.

You felt your breathing stop as it fell seemingly slower than before and the two men urged their horses towards the other.

The crowd’s constant screams of approval died down to a dull buzz in your ears as both men’s lances bounced against the other's shield.

The young Strong boy’s broken arm flashed in your mind as the two prepared to go again. You knew your brother was the best you have ever seen but it was in your nature to worry for your older brother.

This time Cregan’s lance hit true and you fought yourself from celebrating as Aemond was knocked off of his horse.

“Sword!” The younger man yelled, hand outreached for his weapon. A young squire ran over to meet him before offering the hilt of a large sword. Aemond unsheathed it with a practiced fluid motion as your brother’s squire ran to Cregan with his sword, Ice. Cregan leapt off of his horse and took the sword with an equally practiced motion before patting the squire on the back.

“Prince Aemond wishes to continue with a contest of arms!” The crowd’s screams returned to a normal pitch as Aemond advanced.

Your brother hung back allowing Aemond to be on the offensive as he studied his movements and tactics. Cregan effortlessly blocked Aemond’s aggressive slashes before swinging his own sword under an attack and landing a strong hit on the Prince’s armor.

Aemond stumbled back, stunned at the hit before throwing himself back at Cregan with more rage than before.

You sat up taller in your seat as your brother used a gap in Aemond’s attack to be the one on the offense. The strength of his blows caused Aemond to stumble back. Using this movement to his advantage, Cregan smashed his battered shield into Aemond’s sword before pointing his own blade at the Prince’s neck.

After a brief moment of unheard conversation between the two, Aemond let his sword fall to the ground before storming off the field like a petulant toddler.

“Lord Cregan Stark has won his second round!” You jumped out of your seat and clapped excitedly along with the rest of the crowd and noticed that Rhaenyra and her younger son had joined you.

“A very well fought battle.” The Queen said tactfully.

“Your son fought very well, my Queen. It was very close.” You couldn’t help it, but anger pooled in your gut and you knew that this was a retaliation for you granting Jacaerys your favor. But alongside your anger was fear.

At least Cregan was skilled enough to defend you and himself from the man this time but you knew that this was far from over. Aemond seemed like a proud man and losing a round in such a public fashion would only anger him more.

It was obvious that Aemond wanted your attention and would not be above petty retaliations if it meant that he got it.

Joust Outfit

I remember back in season 23; when they did all those different intros as a joke towards streaming services, I had wanted a Mysterion episode [with theme song] in a similar vein. But, that literally can be done in the origin episode, should the SP writers ever get to it. (Still, wouldn't hurt to see what he typically does at night though.)

Oh yes. I've wanted a Mysterion themed intro for a good while now. Like sort of how they had a special made intro for the "Goth Kids 3" episode? Maybe do that with a mix of the South Park theme and Mysterion's darker motif ...I don't know if he'd be singing anything along with it but I'd love that. But guess it could go with more of talking intro like he did in "Mysterion Rises" but come on a singing Mysterion plz we already know Kenny can sing. XD

On a funnier note ever since Mysterion turned out to be Kenny I've jokingly sort of wanted a South Park intro with an out of nowhere Mysterion singing Kenny's usual lines but probably not a good idea. There's a reason those lines are muffled. XDD

okay okay okay so theres like a dozen of them but ill tell you abt my baby mercer (i may or may not be writing a fic for him)

Mercer Kyrie Reyes | #13, offensive dealer, 20, 5’7”, leo

mercer joins the foxes his sophomore year of college (he transfers) after wymack shows up at the bar he works at and basically forces his hand. this follows the events of tsc, so he & neil are the only sophomores on the team. he has a pretty mild relationship with most of the foxes since he’s not really around them that much off court. moving from bum-fuck nowhere connecticut to south carolina is a bit of a mess.

he majors in drawing (idk)

how he plays on court is usually dependent on how his day has gone. if he’s had a bad say, he won’t be of any use on court

he has a little sister, marcella, who he loves and would do anything to protect. he’s her current legal guardian.

he’s the second oldest, his older brother is 5 years older than him and has gone no-contact with the rest of his family, only really checking in every few months to make sure his siblings are alive. he has one younger brother who’s two years younger than him, and then theres marcella who’s four years younger

he has a sweet tooth that rivals andrews, it’s actually ridiculous bc this man always has candy on him no matter what

he can COOK god hes so-

he also writes poetry! nothing serious, but he’ll write what he feels in the moment.

his relationship with wymack & abby is a little shifty. he’s got a lot of trust issues (obv) & parental issues, but abby lets his sister stay with her and keeps her fed, and wymack lets him use the foxes credit card (i forgot what its called) to buy things for her when needed, so it’s as bad as it would be if he were there alone

hes a smartass, of course, and usually gets sent off court for talking shit. he has a habit of taunting other teams. kevin usually falls victim to it during practice. he’s also very flirtatious, with just about everyone, though its usually superficial, he just likes seeing people get worked up

his nails are always chipped with black paint

he’s got his signature leather jacket that he wears no matter the season. it’s got a bunch of different pins and patches sewn into it

he drinks enough energy drinks to have a heart attack, and his hands tend to shake a LOT bc of it

he has chronic migraines! they happen at least once a day (if hes lucky)

very bad insomnia, my mans usually gets like 3 hours of sleep a day if he’s lucky. he tends to nap a LOT

he has tattoos! he wants to open up a tattoo/piercing shop, and he usually practices on himself! for marcella’s 16th birthday he gave her a small sun and moon tattoo on each of her inner forearms

👎🏻 La Pluie - Sadly I had to drop this one because I got super bored by it. It had a very interesting premise and the first 2-3 episodes were solid but then it deflated. Them revealing Pat as the soulmate so soon was a fatal mistake imo, they should have leaned more into the mystery of who he is to Saengtai etc. The story with Lomfon and Saengtian had an interesting start as well but then went nowhere. It’s a pity because I thought they were onto something with this show. oh well.

I’ve been on my bi!buck high but a reminder to all that there are so many wlw stories out there that are also breaking barriers. Hen and Karen for one. A black lesbian couple that is so often overlooked.

But also wlw media has been in critical condition for years. If it’s got wlw characters in it, odds are one of them will die or the show will get canceled. But they do exist! While I love the story that’s being told with Buck, two white men kissing each other is not that groundbreaking. (Sorry not sorry.)

Anyway, here are some of my favorites that aren’t The L Word.

1. South of Nowhere. This is a deep cut. And also my first rodeo with wlw stories. Teenage angst, coming out, bisexuality! There are also webisodes and the two actresses made a movie, Girltrash. It’s a musical.

2. Also a bit of a deep cut. And it was canceled 😡. Dare Me. I can’t say too much or I’ll give it away.

3. Alex from Supergirl. The show has ended but this was a really good coming out storyline.

4. Go back and watch Glee! Santana was where my awakening started to fully form. And a happy ending for Brittana.

5. First Kill was cancelled 😡. But it featured a black vampire hunter and her vampire gf.

6. Wynona Earp was on for 4 seasons and it’s sci-fi. Worth the watch. Also canceled 😡.

7. Dickinson! A modern take on Emily Dickinson and her writing. Ayo Edibri also makes an appearance. It had a natural ending.

8. If you can stomach the heavy themes in the show, Euphoria. There’s nothing healthy about it but the love story does feature a transperson. The solo Jules episode written by Hunter Schafer is a must see.

9. A League of Their Own. Canceled 😡.

10. The Wilds. Canceled 😡.

Shoutout to Sense8, a show I have yet to finish because of its cancellation 😡. It has queer representation all over it and deserves everything.

summary: a new girl moves in from louisiana and has her eyes on a special someone. originally posted: oct. 19, 26, 2019 and june 16, 2023 (yikes) a/n: I may re-write this one day but that day is not today <3 as much fun as this was to write at the time i'm not super proud of it but whatever

pt. 1:

Adélaïde moved to Brooklyn from New Orleans about a week ago, and started school at Visions Academy. To be quite honest, she was only impressed with the building for about a day. The polished walls, colorful quotes, and escalators were cute, but it was all for show, anyways. Most of her friends weren’t there to “give the place some seasoning”, as they used to say. Maya was the only friend Addie had at Visions.

The eight classes she had every day were a blur, except one: physics. Addie’s mom was a physicist, and taught her everything she knew. Addie wanted to decipher how the world moved; how time flowed, and how people got pulled around. That’s the best she could describe it. There was one other thing that made physics special, though: the boy that sat in the third row, three seats from the left.

For the life of her, Addie couldn’t catch his name. Teacher spoke it too fast. The boy’s hand confidently shot up every class, loaded up with a smile and a right answer. She wanted to talk with him for hours about the multiverse and relativity so he could flash that little smile at her, just once. But alas, Addie only had that one class with him, and his locker was nowhere near here, that was for sure.

“Girl, go talk to him!”

“How? I don’t even know where he be at!”

Addie was doing her usual monologue on how fine “the boy in my physics class” was, and Maya had had enough. “I have like, most of my classes with him. Name’s Morales, or something like that.” The brown-skinned girl shook her head. “He always be sleepin’ in class, but somehow he got all As. I feel like he cheats.” Addie gasped.

“But that boy seems so nice! Can you talk to him for me, please?” The girl pouted at her friend. “Nope,” Maya stood firm. “You can talk to him yourself”. She glanced behind her, and sure enough, there was Morales. Addie tensed as Maya’s eyes sparkled mischievously.

“Aye Morales!”

Addie’s eyes widened as the Morales in question approached the table. He practically slid into a seat at the table. Right next to Addie.

Her heart was suddenly in her throat as Maya introduced him.

“My friend thinks you cute”-

“She’s lying,” Addie interrupted. “I’m Adelaide.” Taking a deep breath, she mustered a grin, trying her best to look the boy in his face. “Um, I-I saw how much you knew about, you know, physics and stuff. I’m just tryna talk.” Real smooth. Addie winced internally at her awkwardness.

To her surprise and delight, the boy’s face lit up. “It’s all good, I’m Miles. It’s nice to finally meet you.” Finally. So he’d been waiting…? A little more comfortable now, Addie continued, “I’m kinda new here. From New Orleans, actually.” Miles noted the way she pronounced ‘New Orleans’ like 'Nawlins’ and grinned.

Chuckling, he asked, “So, how you like Brooklyn?” Addie’s cheeks heated up, and she thanked the Lord her gingerbread skin kept Miles from noticing. “It’s real fast out here. Beautiful buildings, but it’s a lil’ noisy, y'know?” Miles nodded thoughtfully. “Alotta people from the South say the city’s too fast. It’s interesting. Maybe time moves different down there. Time is relative.” He winked after making the physics joke, making Addie feel like she wouldn’t be able to get up from her seat after the lunch period ended.

Like clockwork, the bell rang, and students began packing their things to go. Maya grinned at her friend knowingly, having watched the conversation unfold. As Addie zipped up her bag, Miles stopped behind her.

“Hey,” he began, “It was nice talking to you. I never hear you speak in physics.” At a loss for words, Addie could only nod her head. Miles inched a little closer. “I like your accent,” he almost-whispered. Cheekily mimicking the girl’s cadence, Miles called out, “see ya 'round, N'awlins!” as he left.

pt. 2:

Addie had been staring at her phone for five minutes now at the notification.

'Adelaide has an updated grade of a B (89%) in Spanish I'.

Addie sucked in a breath. A 'B'? That was the best she could do? The girl had an A or higher in every other class and that 'B' was really fucking up her vibe. Addie had to do something. There was a quiz in exactly 3 days; that was her chance. She found Maya the next day at breakfast.

"Maya, how you feel about Spanish?"

Flippantly, Addie's friend replied, "I got a C in that class. Not too fond of Spanish." Addie groaned and slumped in her seat. Failed quizzes were no joke. She could barely stomach a B, let alone a C. "I can't fail this class, Maya. Help ya girl out?"

Sighing, Maya thought for a second. A smirk appeared on the girl's face.

"Miles speaks Spani--"

"Now you stop right there!" Addie sharply interrupted. Exasperated, Maya retorted, "What is it with you and avoiding this boy? You want good grades, don't you? That 4.0 GPA?" Addie knew she was right. Why'd she have to be right...?

Still, Addie refused. Instead, the girl opted for flashcards on Quizlet, and they helped. A little. The night before the quiz, it'd slipped Addie's mind to look at Quizlet a second time, though. Big mistake.

Addie sat stiffly at her desk, brows furrowed at the piece of paper in front of her. '¿Que día es ante miércoles?' Addie had all but forgotten the days of the week.

At some point, the teacher announced, "Treinta segundos!" Thirty seconds. Shit. Addie started randomly filling in the answer sheet and hoped for the best. Sooner or later, time was up. She sighed in resignation.

The next day, Addie almost fainted at her updated Spanish grade. Yup, she had a C. For fear of getting an 'I told you so' speech from Maya, Addie said nothing.

"I dunno, I think Mr. Edwards would be more of a scammer," Addie was explaining. "What about Coach Morris?"

"Yeah, he definitely killed somebody." The two girls burst into a fit of laughter at the lunch table. A voice called out from behind, "What's all this about killing people?" Maya and Adelaide looked up to see Miles, having just walked in and approaching a seat next to Maya.

"We was talking about which teachers got a criminal record," Maya answered. "Whatchu think?" Miles thought about it. "I think Ms. Morreira kinda"-- Miles makes a hand motion as if smoking a cigarette--"if you know what I mean?" Maya snickered, but Addie straight up cackled, earning her a few weird glances from passersby, at which she clamped a hand over her mouth to stifle the sound. Real awkward. Thankfully, no one really noticed, and kept the jokes going.

Maya chimed in again, "I really do think she be coming to class high sometimes, though!" Imitating the woman's drawl, Maya and Miles said in unison, "Vien-te se-gun-dos!"

While the other two had their fun, Addie stayed relatively quiet, gaze drifting toward Miles and his boisterous laugh. What if she told a bad joke? Actually speaking was too much of a risk, in her mind.

"Oh yeah, speaking of Spanish," Maya starts, "Did you do good on that quiz?" Miles boasts, "I got a 100. Nothin' new." Addie saw her chance. "Could you help me study? My grades look ugly right now and I was told you speak a lil Spanish." The boy grinned and nodded, to Addie's relief.

Miles reached into his pocket for a pen and scratched out something on a napkin, handing it to Addie. She had to keep her eyes from becoming saucers as she realized the digits hastily written on the napkin were a phone number. His phone number! "Thanks," Addie squeaked, as the bell rang. She'd never entered a new contact into her phone so fast.

pt. 3:

Addy’s thumb hovered over Miles’ contact as she sat in front of her chromebook, bleary-eyed. She’d gotten Miles’ number (or rather, Maya had gotten it for her) after Addy had gotten a ‘C’ on her last Spanish quiz and nearly fainted.

 The empty PowerPoint presentation woefully would not complete itself. The assignment should’ve been simple: discuss three dishes from your Spanish-speaking country of choice. She had chosen Puerto Rico, easy, right?

‘Easy’, until it was 11:55 pm, 24 hours before the shit was due. Desperate times, desperate measures.

Adelaide, 11:56pm: hey, sorry to bother you so late! I’m struggling bad w this Spanish assignment and I was wondering if you could help?

Miles, 12am: hey addy 

I gotchu right now gimme a second

Addy nearly jumped as a FaceTime call from Miles lit up her screen not moments later, ripping off her bonnet with a speed that could cause whiplash. She sat up in her bed as straight as she could, fumbling for her glasses as she accepted the call.

What do you think of the narrative's and the fandom's tendency to equate the Fire Nation characters' trauma to that of the victims of war, the way they do?

Both Zuko and Song have scars from the Fire Nation. Both Zuko and Katara lost their mothers to the Fire Nation. Stuff like that.

Both Zuko and Song have scars, but Zuko's is made more important to us. Both Zuko and Katara lost their moms, but people only complain about Katara trauma dumping.

Others have said this, but Western media tends to sympathize a lot with colonizers. I can't recall, but I have a vague understanding that I've seen some cartoons with people displaced from their homes trying to get it back and being painted as evil and crazy.

It's uncomfortable to acknowledge that everyone was once good, and every horrible person has the capacity to turn good and feel regret. And that's a strong message.

But media usually messes it up by portraying the villains as more sympathetic as the heroes or victims. It's good the Fire Nation aren't written as born evil and that evil runs through their blood---

Well except for that one scene.

So we get funny Fire Nation soldiers, and Zuko and Iroh get an absurd amount of funny moments, especially in Book 1, we meet Fire Nation kids, we get a whole episode to humanize the four Fire Nation teens, we get a lot of Iroh favoritism, the only female soldiers, we get the underdog Zuko from episode 3 and all his writing that came with that. We get an episode dedicated to explaining how firebending is life. We get Roku as a mentor figure. We get an episode humanizing the one who started the war. We get an amazingly complex villain, Azula. We get a strong girl trio with a different skill set.

These are the villains.

What do the other nations get?

Water Tribe.

Well they're sexist. Both the North and South apparently. This is only stated for them and no other nation. The season dedicated to them is barely even spent with the Water Tribe so that's nice. We get some cute kids at the beginning I guess.

We get sexist Pakku. There's Yue who is sweet. We get Hahn. Aang fights all by himself the first day of the siege because apparently after one boat, none of the benders are up for anything else. Also we see nonbenders but when the moon goes, they are nowhere to be seen.

The Northern Water Tribe never shows up again, despite I don't know, LOSING their princess to the Fire Nation and who knows how many others.

We also get Hama and her missed opportunity. And bloodbending which is only considered evil.

That's it. Roku's Water Tribe teacher doesn't get a name and isn't portrayed with much respect or attention like his other teachers. Aang has friends from everywhere except the Water Tribes. He's not even confused about the state of Katara's home, which was different as early back as Hama's time. And his temple is the closest!

Hakoda, Katara, Sokka, and Yue are great, but their nation could have used more attention from the writers.

Earth Kingdom.

We get Bumi who was funny to me as a child and still is, but he's kind of messed up and not a great leader. We get Toph's parents, an extreme general, Jet's portrayal, Ba Sing Se, the Dai Li, the bully soldiers for Zuko to look down at when he still hasn't changed, etc.

We get a lot of culture from the Earth Kingdom and a lot of kind or funny characters. This nation isn't so bad, except Toph, Jet, Haru, and Teo are all underdeveloped.

There are quite a few villains from here though and the only strong depictions of loss to war are Haru and Jet, and it's lacking for obvious reasons.

Air Nomads.

The way Aang leaves the Southern Air Temple with Katara and Sokka is how I wish the genocide was treated the rest of the show. It's barely mentioned after though. Aang is unrelatable to so many people who watch the show, and it doesn't help he never has episodes of crying over his friends or missing them.

The Mechanic destroying a temple is portrayed as good.

Their culture is brought up really only at the end of the series and we're supposed to believe Aang and the others haven't been killing soldiers all this time?

Aang not killing Ozai is great politically and morally, but he has killed before and it's not unreasonable to believe the Air Nomads allow killing if out of self-defense.

This whole thing has generated a lot of hate for Aang as a result of how little we were able to connect to his trauma and culture.

Aang being childish and wanting to have fun isn't him being immature or being unable to understand the trauma the other characters have endured. It's part of keeping his culture alive to bring joy and fun to others, and he did that naturally from episode 1.

(I think it's amazing thematically that Aang didn't kill Ozai, but we should have gotten an acknowledgement that all the kids have technically killed and Aang was just uncomfortable to end the war with death as it would be against his culture or to do it in cold blood. Something like that.)

HII!! im so sorry im just seeing this now!! oh god i loveeee giving movie recs but there's so many though,, if you can tell me any specifics of what kind of movies you like i can give you better recs but here's a general one. most of these are fairly or very mainstream so you might've seen them already, if you're looking for less famous movies PLEASEEE lmk bc i have many many recs on that too

animation: anything miyazaki if you haven't seen his movies, really: but princess mononoke, nausicäa of the valley of the wind and castle in the sky are my personal favorites. flow is pretty recent, no dialogue, beautifully animated.

horror: the thing and scream are two of my favorite horror movies. both classics, scream is mostly a parody of horror movies. annihilation is technically a horror movie too i guess- and well, i'd first recommend you read the book, which is much, much better, but the movie, although different, is also really good and is amazing aesthetically and sound-wise (none of these are scary scary though, if you want a real scary horror film i recommend the vvitch which is soo unsettling i loved it)

comedy: if you like superhero movies please watch the suicide squad (NOT suicide squad!) which is such a stupid movie i love it. hot fuzz is a parody of cop movies and its so funny (if you like it, i'd recommend the two other movies from this trilogy, shaun of the dead which is a parody of, you guessed it, dawn of the dead but more generally zombie movies, and the world's end which is an invasion of the body snatchers but more generally alien movies parody. and well of course since we're talking about edar wright movies i have to mention scott pilgrim vs the world). mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios is hilarious, so is bottoms which i feel has/will become a staple of comedy AND queer cinema already- with a good reason. its a parody of the classic usamerican high school movie, and its so fun.

drama, drama-comedy, action: speaking of queer media: not a comedy and also technically not a movie, but san junipero is self-contained and an hour long so i'm counting it as a short movie. it's episode 4 of season 3 of black mirror and although i don't always love black mirror i can't recommend this one enough. interstellar and memento are two of my favorite nolan movies (if you like them i'd also recommend tenet although its a Lot) and asteroid city is peak wes anderson, funny, very interesting aesthetically and surprisingly touching at times. volver is a drama about womanhood and motherhood and it so unexpectedly funny too. nueve reinas is a 'heist' type movie set in buenos aires and one of my all time favorite movies. mad max fury roads and monkey man are two of my all time favorite action movies and theyre SO gorgeous and got to me so unexpectedly. la sociedad de la nieve is beautifully made and based on real events (might be a bit of a tough watch so mind the warnings) and okja is a really good movie but one i don't think i could ever watch it again it lowkey traumatized me skjsk. diarios de motocicleta is beautiful and follows che guevara's youth and travels through south america.

Gojo has his head. In season 2 he tells toji he failed to kill him because he didn't cut off his head. Sukuna didn't cut off his head. He can still heal his body.

Plus we see Nanami tell gojo that there are two paths. One to change you or one to stay who you are. Gojo says goodbye to his dead friends and we see him walk away showing he's taking the second path. We also see a lotus then.

Which symbols strength and renewal.

Gojo is not dying. He may be gone a few chapters but everything his hunting he will heal his body and be back.

Gojo will live.

i wish i had your hopium but i gotta correct a few things here ... 1) it was said by i think kashimo (i dont even remember) that cursed energy comes from the gut, and gojo has been split into two from his stomach. toji never bisected him, even if he managed to stab him through the cranium. 2) gojo didn't say goodbye to his friends in the afterlife, that was a mistranslation. 3) he's not walking away from anything either ?? 4) the chapter title is called "going south" bruh...

listen. i so badly want him to come back. i really fucking do. i read jjk 0 when it came out in jump giga in 2017 and when it wasn't called jjk yet (it was called tokyo metropolitan curse technical school btw). i've been with gojo since mfing 2017... 2017!!! i've loved him for over 6 years now i can't even believe it's been so long.. i never expected that silly oneshot manga to become this popular 🥹 kinda makes me happy how loved jjk is currently :')))) but the fact of the matter is that gege has stated numerous times that he wants to finish jjk soon. he actually stated in late 2022 that he was planning on finishing it in 2023. gege's editor has come out and said that the manga will not be ending this year though, so my guess is somewhere around spring 2024 everything will be wrapped and and be donezo so that gege can move on to that goddamn idol manga he's been yapping about for a while now. so what am i trying to say with this tangent? i'm saying that jjk is ending soon and that gege has stated multiple times how difficult it was for him to write around the powerhouse that is gojo (which is just an admission of his own shitty writing/planning because mf YOU 🫵 are the writer like you are the one that created him!!! learn how to plan out your story and how to utilize the characters you yourself have created for it you stupid fucking cat i swear to god....). this all just screams to me that it's over. it's finished. gojo already died once and came back enlightened, he's not gonna have it a second time. not this close to the end. not after having been removed from the narrative for over a hundred chapters. not after seeing sukuna back at full health in his heian era form, something gege didn't even have gojo force out of him. like gege really got him out of the box so that he could be done with him unarguably and conclude his character arc because he wants to finish jjk.

gojo is dead, nobara is for sure dead, megumi is basically done for (we'll see him once more within the mind once yuuji does his soul cursed technique whatever bullshit on sukuna to have a talk but he's not coming back no more), and yuuji, the kid whose execution started this story, will be the only one left alive. gege said in an interview a while ago that he wanted to end jjk with either 1 of the main 4 dead, or only 1 of the main 4 alive. i think it's pretty obvious that person is supposed to be yuuji. "die surrounded by your friends" from the first chapter is going to turn into "all your dead friends will surround you". i am wholeheartedly convinced of this. i'm sorry, but after 3 years of having to sit through that worthless culling game arc leading to absolutely nowhere for our heroes, after realizing that there will never be a pay off for the last 100+ chapters because the whole point of the arc is now fucking dead just like that, i do not have it in me to have any faith nor hope in gege's writing skills. it's become painfully clear to me how mid that guy is at writing and how hard he is rushing towards the end. i have lost all faith and goodwill i used to hold for gege.

Great Kettering is based on the UK islands physical geography*. Great Kettering has slight weather changes with the seasons, primarily an increase in humidity and less rainfall in the summer months. Mostly known to be cold and wet overall. Tsunamis can happen along the coast to the south, and south-east. Earthquakes are small distant shakes from the far west. Droughts are rare and only in very dire situations. Lots of coastal towns are on the coast cliffs rather than the coast, and therefore are generally safe from the usual tsunamis that occur. Boat living... isn't uncommon yet dangerous depending on the time of year (hence the phrase, sturdy like GK's fishers). Earthquakes aren't an issue just noticeable along the west border. Great winters are prepared for a lot like Solistal does. 

*but only when I feel like it lol

Architecture:

GK is a mix of my personal headcanons for orcs and fantasy England. The most common form of landmark is the stone/moss circles, each with their own pattern, like a fingerprint. Generally, only those born in the area will be familiar with these landmarks without a map. Because of this, the moss circles are speculated to be linked to the orc-ish Aeons religion. Kelp forests are a special sight along GK coasts. The most well known location in GK is the sunken castle, and its bridges to nowhere. One explanation is that the coastal cliff was washed away and the castle was too heavy so it fell into the ocean to be forgotten, another blames the mythological 'Thorns' for putting it their during one of their tantrums. For a foreigner, the knight tourneys are a highly anticipated event due to the invitation of both the highest king and lowest servant. Most towns start with a safe drinking water source in the middle, market and community buildings around that, then common dwellings around those. For Kettering, the capital, there are 'districts' that citizens must get permits to build inside. These districts help with deliveries, city planning, guard patrols, and lock down procedures. Again, most towns are situated along the south coast, and it's either the direct coast or, if the cliffs are too severe, then it'll be as high on a hill they can get while still in viewing distance of the sea. On the north side of Great Kettering, it still follows the idea of the highest hills. Including Kettering, which itself has a 'natural moat' around it, although the city surrounding the castle has since expanded further around the lake as well. In smaller towns, people are clumped together, tiny and people live in each others pockets, whereas bigger towns are more spacious. That said, construction is trending towards taller rather than wider. Common structures are in the easy to acquire and transport materials, where the elegant marbles and quartz are left for Kettering or other religious sites in other large towns.

Trade/Commerce:

GK trade away seafood for different 'exotic' foods and their artisans are highly sorted after. They import from Solistal for specialty materials to craft with. Kamikita holds a chokehold on trading routes and this frustrates GK. They import from Birkina for island herbs and spices, as well as dyes for their crafts. Can be self-sufficient if trades were to be suddenly cut. The world trade is currency based but smaller store keepers accept barters... if you can talk them into it. Solistal's ores/minerals and their jewelcrafters are flaunted as expensive goods and a highly requested import. Whereas 'seals' or magical coins are the least sought after. GK's embroiders are the most asked for export.
