Sister Rosetta Tharpe (born Rosetta Nubin, March 20, 1915 – October 9, 1973) was an American singer, songwriter and guitarist. She gained popularity in the 1930s and 1940s with her gospel recordings, characterized by a unique mixture of spiritual lyrics and electric guitar.
She was the first great recording star of gospel music, and was among the first gospel musicians to appeal to rhythm and blues and rock and roll audiences, later being referred to as "the original soul sister" and "the Godmother of rock and roll".
She influenced early rock-and-roll musicians, including Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and also later guitarists, such as Eric Clapton.

i can't stop thinking about the first episode of season 6, when sam tries to convince dean to come with him, to come back to hunting. he says "it's just better with you around, that's all." it's an interesting line because sam is soulless, obviously. and even though he doesn't understand the details yet, he knows something's wrong with him.
"it's better with you around" he says, citing dean's compassion and care for others as the reason why. and how interesting is that? sam's working with plenty of other hunters who still have their souls—they're all more than capable of caring about the people they save. but sam needs dean specifically. he knows he's missing something, and he sees dean and recognizes that something in him. even cold and calculating and unrelentingly logical, sam recognizes that dean, alone, can "complete" him, give something back to him that he's supposed to have.
in episode 8 he tells dean he "needs his help." he doesn't elaborate; he never explains what he means by that. he has a whole family of hunters who'd be willing and able to help him, but still he needs dean. even without his soul, his hyperrational mind knows he needs him.
soulless sam isn't capable of caring about dean. but he doesn't need to care to know they need to be together, no matter what—to know dean is good for him, dean completes him, dean needs to be there for him.
it's like a sick reversal of season 1. sam drags dean back into this life because he can't keep going without him. because he needs him. because when you think about it logically, and sam has no other choice, there was never any other option for them.

Gnostic Resurrection
Tribute to @tragic-unpaired-electron's AU of and AU The Gnostic Gospel. The fic is a total triumph of character writing, compelling backstories, fascinating world-building, thrilling action, and heartwrenching twists. I loved the original AU series, Bloodletting, and the incredible way the author takes a beautiful ownership of Nai as a character. I have just been floored at how there can be more avenues to take the reluctant space cowboy angel that has my heart. Not to mention the supporting cast! I recommend everyone read the entire catalog they have cooking.
I've been digging into my traditional paintings as of late and finally decided to try applying those techniques to the digital canvas and I just love it. There's a freedom in the execution and a looseness I haven't yet been able to find. -OK I'm Spoiling the biggest moment in the fic-
Gnostic Gospel introduces more firmly the awesome world-building behind an independent's physical gate and for the longest time the flashback of Nai having his cut out was something I really wanted to draw. But then he had to go and get a transplant from his dead sister in such a gloriously epic and vindicating manner. I wanted to depict his powers returning artistically since I can't help but draw wings dammit. It's my bias. Furthermore, Nai's physical differences in this scenario as opposed to being a resistance leader mean yeah I'm committing to the trimax curly hair agenda. I must say, it was fun to execute. As a side note, I don't appreciate Nai's clearly depicted albinism in my previous works, so I humbly present my correction. I could gush on and on about this kid.
