I started drawing the og 16 lyctors firstly because I got inspired by other people's art and also because they're the characters that most fascinate me.

It started with me being silly but actually evolved into a ten-day art journey and while I wanna set some of these portraits on fire I thought I'd include them all to, hopefully, inspire someone.

I'll also be mentioning the fancast I used as inspiration, many of which I chose because ✨vibes✨ and nothing else. Here's a pinterest file of them all.

Gideon (Flo Rida) and Pyrrha (Salma Hayek). Valancy (Jamie Zella) and Cyrus (Drew Ray Tanner).

For some reason when thinking of Gideon, Flo Rida is what came to my mind... but trust me it works. Salma is just my favourite milf, I had to pick her for Pyrrha. For Valancy I heard curvy thicc and remember Jamie from Instagram so why not make her Asian and ginger? If Mercy gets her peach hair.

Ulysses (Jack Black/Harvey Guillen) and Titania (Jordan Daniels). Alfred (Shaun Evans) and Augustine (Peter Cushing).

Now, you can see I started struggling with the face claims, fail after fail. I did not do my girl Tits justice here, she looks too serious but trust me she's just so chill. I also sketched the Quinques too small, and when it was time to outline... poor Alfred suffered.

Cassiopeia (Alba Flores) and Nigella (Eiza Gonzallez). Loveday (Noémie Lenoir) and Cytherea (Isabelle Adjani).

Here is where I started having fun and was comfortable with the faceclaims, except for Nigella's. I chose a pretty woman to do justice to Mercy's words, but she was pretty in that modern conventional way I couldn't extract much from and ended up ruining her portrait. As an easter egg each pair of fancast speak the same languages.

I was on a row here, even if they're not the best I could've done. I put some pressure on myself to do well on Mercy bc she's my favourite and do like how she turned out even if I picture her chubbier than my faceclaim.

Did I choose Coppola bc of that scene from The Godfather 3 with the veil? Yes. I also have the headcanon that Anastasia was a sturdier woman and slowly her descendency shrunk to Harrow size.

Beside each of the portraits I did a looser drawing of the pairs in ballpoint pen that I progressively put more thought into it, those are too ugly to show but the few last I really liked it.

POUNDING the streets

yesterday concordia and mcgill students stiked and marched througj downtown montreal to fight against the racist fucking tution hikes the quebec governemnt threw at us and demanded free education for all. fuck the ethno-national state. fuck legault. and fuck the whole CAQ y''all are all pigs.

quick facts: it basically doubles tution for out of province and international students, but only for english speaking universities (concordia, mcgill, bishops). this is because montreal is becoming ""too anglicized"". does not apply to french or belgium students (white francophones). does apply to other international students coming from other non-european (white) francophone countries. yes did i mention its racist? it's very racist. this extra money goes to quebec gov to go to french universities. this tuition hike kicks concordia and mcgill in the balls because no one wants to pay that much and these unis will lose So Much Money (concordia already broke). so uh yea. its kinda rly fucked.

« JULIETTE AU PRINTEMPS » (1h36min)

Un film de Blandine Lenoir, avec Sophie Guillemin, Izïa Higelin, Jean-Pierre Darroussin…

Synopsis : Juliette, 35 ans, illustratrice de livres pour enfants, retourne dans le lieu où elle a grandi pour passer quinze jours en compagnie de ses proches : un père un peu lunaire, une sœur qui a d’autres chats à fouetter entre ses gosses, son boulot, son falot de mari et son amant, une mère aux abonnés absents et une grand-mère qui perd la tête. Souvenirs enfouis, non-dits et secrets de famille remontent à la surface…

Nous y sommes allés hier après-midi. Nous aurions aimé vous en dire du bien, que cette adaptation d’un roman graphique était un petit film sympathique, émaillé de saynètes cocasses, poétiques, drôles, émouvantes parfois… C’était ce que nous avions lu dans quasiment toutes les critiques « Pro » et dans la plupart des « critiques de spectateurs » sur le Site AlloCiné.

Hélas, nous nous sommes ennuyés, avons très peu souri et n’avons pas ressenti la moindre émotion. Les acteurs sont bons, sans plus… Celui que nous avons préféré : c’est le petit caneton (pardon pour le pléonasme « petit/caneton » qui souligne juste notre empathie pour cette jeune volaille).

Et, très GROSSE cerise sur le gâteau, nous avons vu dans ce film la pire scène de sexe depuis que nous allons au cinéma !

Bref, un film à éviter à qui nous ne donnons tous les deux que ❤️❤️ sur 5.

WKND [said weekend or wknd]: my favourite radio station. this is almost only music, so you might not get to hear people talk, but if you listen at night or early in the morning (québec time) there are a bunch of french songs (thanks to the CRTC)

Salement techno & cru, DEEAT PALACE est le projet solo de Marion Camy-Palou, une musicienne touche-à-tout, vue et entendue aussi chez OKTOBER LIEBER ( duo " EDM + post punk), OFFICINE ( "trio post punk +  hard core + no wave") ou ASTRE (duo "gabber / no wave / bruits).

Usant sauvagement et aléatoirement de deux ou trois machines ( + "un micro, et un devenir robot" (Olivier Lamm, Libération),DEEAT PALACE assène une no-wave primaire abrasive et inaudible, en déchiquetant la techno originelle à coups de cris, rythmes et orgues aux pourtours stridents.

Martèlement de percussions lourdes et métalliques, ambiances potentiellement "dark" & anxiogènes s'y déploient en lorgnant vers les racines de la musique industrielle. On pense - éventuellement - à Genocid Organ, Military Position ou encore, un peu, à Puce Mary.

Une avant-première mondiale et exclusive pour le moment  : duo inédit réunissant ces deux improvisatrices chevronnées, aux styles bien affirmés, nuancés et tranchants.

Sophie Agnel "joue du piano depuis toujours, improvise et sculpte la matière depuis une vingtaine d’années, alliant les rencontres avec un grand nombre de musiciens internationaux et le travail sur le long terme avec d’autres.

Pour s’immerger dans son univers sonore, il vaut mieux  abandonner quelques à priori sur ce que c’est que « jouer du piano » et accepter que le clavier n’en soit qu’une partie émergée. Ce n’est pas si compliqué et une fois ce petit effort accompli, le monde qui s’ouvre est sidérant. Les frottements de cordes, les résonances, les effleurements des étouffoirs, évoquent un paysage musical où le temps suit un déroulement bien singulier et où l’espace est rempli de sonorités inouïes.

On a pu et on peut l’entendre aux cotés de Jérôme Nœtinger, Daunik Lazro, eRikm, Ikue Mori, Phil Minton, John Butcher, Catherine Jauniaux, Steve Noble, John Edwards, Andrea Neumann, Bertrand Gauguet, Thurston Moore, Arnaud Rivière, Joke Lanz…

Nina Garcia émaille de ses riffs lacérés, incisifs & wtf les morceaux d'agit-pop post-no wave de l'excellent combo MAMIEDARAGON.

Membre également du trio Quonicho B. ou d'ENSEMBLE ELECTRON (big-band d'improvisation dirigée par Olivier Bénoît), elle joue régulièrement en duo avec la tromboniste danoise Maria Bertelet et depuis un peu plus récemment avec le batteur Augustin Bette.

Solo elle se produit sous le nom MARIACHI et après quelques sorties K7, son premier LP vient d'être publié conjointement par les labels Doubtful Sounds & No Lagos Music.

Branding Science opens new office in Germany

The healthcare brand consultancy Branding Science has opened a new office in Germany. 

Founded 18 years ago, Branding Science has helped leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies with branding projects, from assessing market opportunity to preparing for upcoming launches and beyond.

Dr Anne-Sophie Lenoir heads the new Berlin office. Born in Belgium, she has an international background and has worked with leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies for several years.

Lenoir said: “To stand out from the competition and address today’s challenges, such as digitalisation and market access, our clients need more than just research findings – they need data-driven, actionable recommendations that translate those insights into brand strategies that drive commercial success.

Glielo aveva detto Sophie Gray, che questo lavoro si prende tutto. Che questo lavoro si prende l'anima, che non ci sarebbe stato spazio per i sentimenti. Glielo aveva detto, di scegliersi un'altra vita.

  Ma lui l'avrebbe scoperto molto dopo di avercela davvero un'anima da perdere.

  L’ha trovata nelle risate soffocate spalla contro spalla con Billie, nei suoi sorrisi che per un attimo sembrano poter cancellare anche Maia. L’ha trovata nell’espressione di Ariadne, coraggiosamente dolce anche quando gli consegnano un distintivo che aveva giurato di abbandonare. L’ha trovata nella sorpresa di Mike per tutte quelle sue parole, perché lo sanno tutti che lui parla poco e soltanto per dire cose cattive. L’ha trovata nella pacca piena di fiducia di Daniel e poi nei richiami di Barry e Cheryl, con cui adesso è alla pari. L’ha trovata nell'imbarazzo di Clint per i suoi meriti riconosciuti e poi nel loro silenzio solenne per i caduti pianti insieme. L’ha trovata nelle ferite di May identiche alle sue per una rissa in cui l'ha trascinata due giorni dopo averla quasi ammazzata. L’ha trovata nello spazio vuoto che hanno lasciato Lucja e Sophie e nei sorrisi dei loro fantasmi, quelli che non rispondono mai. L’ha trovata negli occhi lividi di Lenoir, nel loro insopportabile silenzio che è peggiore di tutte le cose tremende che si sono urlati contro, nel passo verso di lei che invece poi si è perso in mezzo al rancore di porte chiuse e promesse spezzate.

  Sophie Gray glielo aveva detto: questo lavoro si prende tutto. E lui non le aveva creduto.

  Ma lo fa adesso, che a notte fonda trova più accogliente il silenzio gelido del Dipartimento piuttosto che il vuoto del proprio appartamento. S’è lasciato dietro il Silver Shield dove tutti gli altri stanno ancora festeggiando e per un’ultima volta crolla sulla sedia del proprio ufficio da Tenente, arreso come una pantera pigra. Si scopre a fissare il cellulare e sperare disperatamente che la notte gli porti un messaggio – arrivano sempre di notte quelli importanti. Alla fine si mette le cuffie e alza il volume fino ad annegarci dentro ogni pensiero, ogni dolore. Adesso le crede, quando ricorda di non potere nemmeno fumare.

  Shit, quanto cazzo mi manca l'erba. Questo lavoro si prende proprio tutto.
