Deepika Padukone
Born: January 5, 1986
Deepika Padukone is one of the most well-known and well-liked Indian actresses, having appeared in a number of films. As a child, Deepika Padukone aspired to follow in her father Prakash Padukone's footsteps and become a world-class badminton player. Modeling supplanted her aspirations of pursuing an athletic career. After starring in a Kingfisher calendar and a few advertisements, Deepika Padukone, India's reigning supermodel, decided to branch out into acting. 'Aishwariya' was her first Kannada film, but her first Hindi film, 'Om Shanti Om,' launched her to fame. Movies like "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani," "Goliyon Ki Raasleela," "Piku," and "Bajirao Mastani" have helped her rise to the top of the Hindi film industry throughout the years. With 'xXx: The Return of Xander Cage,' she has made her first foray into the world of Hollywood action films. Actresses earning more than $1 million a year are few and far between.
Early Life
An international badminton player named Prakash Padukone and his wife Ujjala were the proud parents of the actress Deepika Padukone. Her father used to be a well-known badminton player back in his younger days. The youngest of the two sisters, Anisha, is a professional golfer who participates in tournaments around the United States. As a year-old child, Deepika's family migrated to the city of Bangalore in India. Mount Carmel College and Sophia High School were Deepika's two preparatory institutions of choice. For the sake of her modeling profession, she dropped out of IGNOU's Bachelor of Sociology program.
Education
She completed her secondary school at Bangalore's Sophia High School before transferring to Mount Carmel College for her pre-university studies. In order to avoid schedule issues with her modeling profession, she eventually enrolled at the Indira Gandhi National Open University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology, but she left out before finishing the program.
Career
Deepika Padukone's career has been very straightforward, in contrast to many models who struggle to get into the industry. In 2005, she made her runway debut at Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, marking the beginning of her fashion career. Next to that, she was included in the Kingfisher Calendar for the following year. Her meteoric ascent to fame started with her appearance in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya's song "Naam Hai Tera," which was released in 2008. Since then, she has been in a number of other music videos. The video was released in 2008 and featured her singing. Soon after, she started to get offers for film roles in other productions. Instead of jumping into anything headfirst, she enrolled in an acting school at the Anupam Kher Film Academy in order to better prepare herself for the role of the director.Read more on..

★ INTERVIEW: Kamal Khan on Radhe, Salman Khan, Seeti Maar, Tere Naam, Himesh Reshammiya and more!
Kamal Khan reveals that the entire music album of Tere Naam was locked by Salman Khan in just 30 minutes. But how? May 9, 2021
Kamal Khan reunites with Salman Khan on Radhe coming on board a singer on two songs, Seeti Maar and Dil De Diya. While the former has cross 100 million views on YouTube in record time, the latter too is trending well having crossed the half century mark. When asked about doing playback for Salman Khan, the singer said, “It is always challenging to dub for Salman Khan because his characters have unique shades – ranging from a Chulbul Pandey to Laxman (Tubelight) to Radhe. I have spent a lot of time with him, both on and off screen, and that brings a certain amount of comfort level.”
Kamal also informs that DSP (Devi Sri Prasad), the composer of both Telugu and Bollywood version of Seeti Maar, liked his approach towards the Hindi recreation. He further adds that even Dil De Diya was a great journey and teaming up with composer Himesh Reshammiya is always a delight. “It was a deliberate attempt on Himesh Reshammiya and Salman Khan to set the song in a different era. That has worked so well, in-fact, that’s where the charm of song lies. HR is the king of melodies,” he smiled.
He went back in time to share a lesser-known fact about the process of creating an album as iconic as Tere Naam. “Salman Khan doesn’t get enough credit for his music sense. He would know within seconds if a song is hit or flop. I remember, Himesh Reshammiya had come to Salman Khan’s home to finalise the music of Tere Naam with some 20 – 25 songs. Each of them was incredible but Salman picked up the best of the lot and locked the album in just 30 minutes. Today, it’s among the most iconic albums,” he gushed.
He finally signs out saying that he is trying to come up with something on the lines of O O Jaane Jaana for Salman Khan. “A lot of people want me to come with another O O Jaane Jaane. While that’s not possible, I am working on something that would be on par with it,” he concluded. Radhe features Salman Khan with Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in key role.

Deepika Padukone (pronounced [d̪iːpɪkaː pəɖʊkoːɳ]; born 5 January 1986) is an Indian film actress. The highest-paid actress in India, Padukone is the recipient of several awards, including three Filmfare Awards. She features in listings of the nation's most popular personalities, and Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018.
Padukone, the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager, she played badminton in national level championships but left her career in the sport to become a fashion model. She soon received offers for film roles and made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film Aishwarya. Padukone then played a dual role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Padukone received praise for portraying the lead roles in the romance Love Aaj Kal (2009) and the drama Lafangey Parindey (2010), but her performances in the romance Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and the comedy Housefull (2010) were met with negative reviews.
The romantic comedy Cocktail (2012) marked a turning point in Padukone's career, earning her praise and Best Actress nominations at several award ceremonies. She established herself with starring roles in the romantic comedies Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express (both 2013), the heist comedy Happy New Year (2014), and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period dramas Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018). Padukone has admitted to being socially awkward as a child and did not have many friends.[6] The focus of her life was badminton, which she played competitively from a young age. Describing her daily routine in a 2012 interview, Padukone said, "I would wake up at five in the morning, go for physical training, go to school, again go for playing badminton, finish my homework, and go to sleep."[6] Padukone continued to pursue a career in badminton throughout her school years and played the sport in national level championships. She also played baseball in a few state level tournaments.[9] While concentrating on her education and sporting career, Padukone also worked as a child model, first appearing in a couple of advertising campaigns at the age of eight.[10] In the tenth grade, she changed focus and decided to become a fashion model. She later explained, "I realised that I was playing the game only because it ran in the family. So, I asked my father if I could give up the game and he wasn't upset at all."[11] In 2004, she began a full-time career as a model under the tutelage of Prasad Bidapa.[11][12]
Early in her career, Padukone gained recognition with a television commercial for the soap Liril and modelled for various other brands and products.[13][14] In 2005, she made her runway debut at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Suneet Varma and won the "Model of the Year" award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards.[15][16] Padukone's fame increased when she appeared in a highly popular print campaign for the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar;[17] the designer Wendell Rodricks commented, "Since Aishwarya Rai, we haven't had a girl as beautiful and fresh."[18] Rodricks had spotted her at a Ganjam jewellery class he was teaching and signed her up with the Matrix agency.[19] At the age of 21, Padukone relocated to Mumbai and stayed at her aunt's home.[6] That year, she gained wider recognition by featuring in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya's song Naam Hai Tera.[20]
Padukone soon began to receive offers for film roles.[21] Believing herself to be too inexperienced as an actor, she instead enrolled for a course at Anupam Kher's film academy.[22]Following much media speculation, the director Farah Khan, who had noticed her in Reshammiya's music video, made the decision to cast her for a role in Happy New Year.[6][17]
