Karliene - Song of the Seven (english and spanish subs)
The Father's face is stern and strong, he sits and judges right from wrong. He weighs our lives, the short and long, and loves the little children.
The Mother gives the gift of life, and watches over every wife. Her gentle smile ends all strife, and she loves her little children.
The Warrior stands before the foe, protecting us where e'er we go. With sword and shield and spear and bow, he guards the little children.
The Crone is very wise and old, and sees our fates as they unfold. She lifts her lamp of shining gold to lead the little children.
The Smith, he labors day and night, to put the world of men to right. With hammer, plow, and fire bright, he builds for little children.
The Maiden dances through the sky, she lives in every lover's sigh. Her smiles teach the birds to fly, and gives dreams to little children.
The Seven Gods who made us all, are listening if we should call. So close your eyes, you shall not fall, they see you, little children. Just close your eyes, you shall not fall, they see you, little children.

I... kinda am obsessed with Radskier rn. so I downloaded a video editing app and made an edit. Radovid is a certified Jaskier fanboy and that's completely valid. I also broke my own heart once again with the end.

not seen anyone talk about it so I have to say that I loved the little nod to blood origins in episode 1 of the witcher season 3. The bit where radovid is all like ‘holy shit that’s Jaskier!! I love ‘song of the seven’!! It’s my favouite!!’ And jaskiers just like ‘…hah bit ironic but a win is a win’

Omg I've just realised song of the seven has kinda similar vibes to Yma o Hyd (still here) by Dafydd Iwan.
Obviously yma o hyd has actual cultural significance whereas song of the seven is just a fun bop from a TV show, but like, they're both about the history of an oppressed people with a chorus that's a rallying cry to fight back.
Song of the seven focuses less on specific events and more on stories in general (summarising the themes of the show overall) but imo its not too much of a stretch to imagine a version more like yma o hyd that does mention specific events.
Anyway, that's just my excited Welsh ass rambling and making random connections

It actually bothers me so much that the entire point of Jaskier hearing the story of the seven is to share it, to bring that story alive once again through song, and then the song in question says absolutely nothing about the actual events.
The actual song has no substance. There is no story. It's just written to be a catchy hit for the viewers, it doent even fulfill its sole in universe purpose.

Initially, I thought there was no connection between The Black Rose and Song of the Seven, but I wrong. Not only are there themes in the lyrics (could’ve been more for my tastes, but the “rise up” will have to do), but both songs are in the same key, so you can literally listen to them at the same time and still hear both musical themes. If I was a better sound mixer, I’d show you, but you’ll just have to try it for yourself!
The difference between the songs is the artist. Eile and Jaskier are both amazing musicians, but just in different genres. SotS actually does fit in pretty well with Jaskier’s catalogue. (The lyrics still feel really rushed though; I feel like they needed a couple more rounds of revision.) So, what we actually ended up with is two songs that bookend the story of Blood Origin with similar themes but from two different artists.
I already adore Jaskier’s music, I adore Joey’s own music, I’ve fallen in love with Eile’s music (I blame Bear McCreary, whose soundtracks I’ve always enjoyed.) I hope whatever happens behind the scenes, we continue to get great music from the Bards of the Witcher

The problem with “Song of the Seven”
I’ve said before that the one saving grace of The Witcher: Blood Origin is Jaskier and that they made a big mistake by cutting down his screen time but I realized something else.
There’s a lot of build up to the song Jaskier would write about the story he’s told in Blood Origin. When we finally hear the finished song it feels a little... anti-climatic.
The song is a little weak but they obviously hoped it would become as popular as “Toss a Coin to your Witcher” or “Burn Butcher Born” or even “Golden One” (The Jaskier song only released in its entirety on Youtube).    Not only is the song weak but there’s a part in the song that just doesn’t sound right.  Jaskier sings the line “But they said ‘F--k this.’“ and he sings it with the exasperated tone of someone walking in on their flat mate having not cleaned up from a party from the night before, not a battle cry.  But then you hear what are obviously supposed to be riled up tavern goers reply eagerly “They said ‘F--k this!’” as if Jaskier has growled or roared the line but he had sounded almost bored when he said it.  The tones don’t match. It’s like there wasn’t communication when mixing the audio for the song.
You can hear it for yourself. The part of the song doesn’t match with the revelers responding to it.    Semi-related thought:  When Jaskier established himself as a protector of the Elfish (Sidhe) people with the name Sandpiper did he regret the story he embellished for the song “Toss A coin to your Witcher”?

The Footsteps We Follow by thiswildheart
Summary:
Look, Jaskier's got a lot going on. He's painfully aware that there are cataclysmic events happening and that the troubled teenager he knows might save the world or speed along the end of days. He's also in love with a man who's never even admitted that they're friends, which is almost as bad.
Oh, and he's still working as the Sandpiper, only now a terrifying eldritch creature has entrusted him with the Song of the Seven to give hope to the elves and help them fight back against their oppression. It's probably the bravest thing he's ever done, but not everyone sees it that way.
Luckily he knows some people who excel at last minute rescues.
... then he just has to figure out how to tell Geralt why so many people are trying to kill him. This is going to go great.
❤️❤️❤️

jaskier growth:
season 1, episode 2, Toss a Coin to Your Witcher:
From when the White Wolf fought A silver-tongued devil His army of elves At his hooves did they revel
They came after me With masterful deceit Broke down my lute And they kicked in my teeth
...
At the edge of the world Fight the mighty horde That bashes and breaks you And brings you to mourn
...
He thrust every elf Far back on the shelf High up on the mountain From whence it came

VS
the witcher: blood origin, episode 4, Song of the Seven:
Forget what they've told you, for history's fine glow Is tarnished by those who don't want you to know The power of your stories, your songs, and yourselves To take back the land for the dwarves and the elves
So sing loud and proud the song of the seven Be you halfling or gnome, be your dwarven or elven You carry their stories; no oppressor can hide them Carry their glories and rise; we will rise

So Burn Butcher Burn won my poll for Jaskier's most loved song! Now I will pit it against Valdo Marx and Ciri to see the ultimate singer award! (And also Song Of The Seven because I forgot it last time, oops)

I haven’t actually participated in any Witcher content, and I haven’t listened to Burn Butcher Burn yet, but Toss a Coin and Song of the Seven are both bangers
