OK, so this is a very team cap post.
So I'm pretty sure Tony never told Peter the reasons for the Civil war. Like Peter would have one hundred percent taken Steve's side ( the sokovian accords say that all superheros must reveal thier identity, which Peter would not want to do at all.)
So if he chose to mislead (trick) Peter, how can anyone really believe that he's better than cap!?? Like he has no problem tricking a fourteen year old boy and yet people still support him? Whereas Cap was a good friend all through the film, and gave up everything to fight for what he thought was the right thing.
Not to mention the fact that Tony dragged a flippin 14 year old into a battle! And the fact that he tried to kill Bucky - who is also a victim - to get revenge for his parents even though bucky was even more of a victim than the starks!
And I'm not even getting started on his treatment on bucky.
I know there are more anti-iron facts, feel free to add them.

Iâm bored and going down the Pro vs Anti Sokovian Accords argument rabbit hole thing. Honestly? Didnât know so many people had an opinion about this (Legal Eagle??), but there are so many ways to like interpret everything than just âTeam Steve and Team Tonyâ, especially if you take into account how the Accords would affect how the Avengers function as a whole. So,

jealousy, jealousy
bucky barnes x avenger!reader (no use of y/n)
bucky hates when his girl has to flirt with the enemy
word count: 1.5k | warnings: none
The whole idea of it was absolutely, utterly stupid.
Zemo was obsessed with you, that much was obvious when he couldn't leave your name out of his mouth during the whole Sokovia Accords issue. Now, he was up to no good once more after escaping prison, leaving the Avengers no choice but to find out what he was up to.
The only problem? He refused to speak. Well, he refused to speak unless it was with you.
Bucky felt rage creep up his whole body when Steve explained what you had to do. You had to actually pretend to be interested in every single word Zemo said, meaning even if he flirted, you had to just take it. Apparently, this genius idea was Tony's, and the rest of the team had agreed to it, meaning Bucky's opinion was next to worthless, especially when you already agreed.
He trusted you with every ounce of his being, and he knew you wouldn't do it if you couldn't handle it, but he hate the fact that Zemo was probably going to flirt your ear off. You were Bucky's girl, his doll, his special girl, his everything, not Zemo's.
Nonetheless, Bucly had to hold his tongue and silently nod as Steve explained.
"What're you thinking, Buck?" Steve asked, noticing Bucky's silent deminor.
"I'm thinking about how many ways I could murder Zemo," Bucky commented, eyes darkening.
Steve sighed, placing a hand on Bucky's shoulder, "Bucky, she said she could do this."
"It's not her I don't trust, Steve. Imagine your girl getting hit on and you couldn't do jack shit to stop it. How would you feel then?" Bucky seethed, taking a deep breath in. "Sorry, that was hostile."
With a shake of his head, Steve's eyebrows furrowed. "I understand, Bucky. But we have to get to the bottom of Zemo's plan, and he won't talk unless its to her."
The whole team sat in silence, now gathered in the meeting room. The only noise was the whirl of the fan above their heads as they watched the live footage of you standing in front of Zemo's cell.
"Zemo," You said, crossing your arms. "Being stubborn as always, I hear."
A crooked smile formed on the man's face as he leaned his head on the bars, as close to you as he could get. "Darling, I just did not wish to speak to such insolent people such as the Avengers," Zemo scowled as he spoke. "But a dove as sweet as you? How could I pass?"
Bucky felt his fists clench tightly as he watched the interaction. God, he just wanted to deck this guy straight in the nose. Ever since the Sokovian first went on the run, he always seemed to make some time mid-battle to try and make some small talk with you. It annoyed not only Bucky, but everyone. No one talks that much during a fight. However, now that he was captured, it was the perfect time to use his infatuation of you to the team's advantage.
"Tell me, what do you have planned with those," You paused, grabbing your file and flipping through the loose pages, "Ah, 'weapons of double mass extinction' as you so delicately put it."
Zemo laughed, "Extinction is not my end goal if that is what you are asking my dove."
"It wasn't," You added as Zemo continued.
"However, I am just so excited to reveal what they will be used for." He smiled. Your brow shot up, waiting for his answer. "But seeing it will be the best reveal of all."
Sam sighed, watching this all carry on from where the team was still sat. "He's just gonna play games with her."
"She's smarter than you'd think, give her a chance." Natasha said, "I'd know, I trained her."
Tony stood up, "I don't like this, I'm ending it."
Bucky held up his hand, nodding. "For once, I gotta agree with Stark. I want my girl out of his sight."
Quickly, Steve stood up, "This is our only chance to find out what Zemo has planned. He won't lay a finger on her. Is it uncomfortable? Of course it is, none of us enjoy watching him flirt with her, but it'll work." Tony sat down as Bucky grumbled, all eyes falling back to the screen that showed you now closer to Zemo's bars.
"Would your wife really enjoy knowing you're flirting with me?" You slightly taunted, wanting to push his buttons.
"My wife is dead, but you already know of this." Zemo replied.
With a knowing nod, you pursed your lips, "She was Sokovian too, yeah?"
"We were all from Sokovia, my wife and son, as well as myself." Zemo answered.
"Born and raised?" You continued. Zemo gave a nod as you thought for a moment with a hum, "Were you there when Ultron attacked?"
Zemo nodded, "Yes. That is when my family was murdered."
"I'm sorry," You honestly replied. "Does it still bother you? Not your dead family, but the Sokovia thing. You know, the floating?"
A quick glance of the situation, and it would've looked like you were now just chatting with the enemy, but you held down a smirk as Zemo replied. "Of course I am. That was my home."
"New York could be your home now," You offered. "Turn yourself in and we can get you transferred here."
Zemo laughed, "I would not wish to be here after what will happen."
Boom. You looked up to the camera, "You all got that?" You asked the camera, knowing your team was watching. You grabbed your file, standing up. "Thank you for your time, Zemo. This was very informative." You grabbed your comm and pushed it down, "Stand-by. Send Stark-Bots to check perimeters of the state. Zemo's planning on making us levitate like Sokovia."
Face pale, Zemo stood up, yelling incoherent words that fell upon your deaf ears as you left the room. Bucky, who had seen it all, was already waiting for you outside. He was quick to grab you and hold you tight to his chest.
"I'm okay, Buck," You smiled, voice muffled from your face being pushed against his strong body.
Bucky shook his head, "I know, I just don't want you near that freak again."
You couldn't help but laugh at his words as you pulled away enough to give him a kiss. "You jealous of Zemo?"
"You played into it," Bucky muttered.
"It was all fake, love." You replied. "You know I'm your girl."
Bucky couldn't help but smirk, "Damn right you are." He turned to the door that lead to Zemo's cell. "You hear that? She's my damn girl!"
You couldn't help but feel your heart thump at Bucky's words. He was always so damn hot when he was jealous. "C'mon, show your girl how much you love her." You teased, Bucky's eyes falling on you once more. He was quick to grab your waist with his metal arm, pulling you in as his other hand rested on the back of your neck, pushing your face against his as his lips locked with yours, a tight, sloppy kiss ensuing in the middle of the hall.
"I'm never letting you do that again." Bucky muttered, pulling away to speak. His breath was hot on your cheek as he spoke. He pulled you into another wet kiss as a soft ahem came from behind you both.
"This is not a room, but I'm sure your horny asses could find one."
Bucky groaned as he turned around, "Do you have to ruin every moment?" He asked Sam who stood smugly.
He put his hands in the air, "I just wanted to congratulate Nat's best student on her great work. Especially the one where she made her soldier get all jealous"
"Thank you, Sam," You smiled, a light blush on your face.
Bucky took a pen out of his pocket and threw it at Sam, "Get outta here, man!"
"Alright, alright! No need for hostility." Sam defended as he walked away.
As Sam left, you gave a knowing smile at Bucky. "So jealous over my mission, huh?"
Bucky scoffed, feeling embarrassment creep in his chest, "I wasn't jealous."
"I think you were," You argued. "Over Zemo of all peopke."
"Only I can talk to you that way," Bucky said, voice nearly a whine. "You're all mine, not his or anyone else's, and he knows it."
You smiled, giving Bucky a kiss on the cheek, "And that's probably why he loves doing it so much. You know he's got a thing against super soldiers. He's gonna do anything to get under your skin."
"And he chose the worst way to do it," Bucky muttered as you pressed a soft kiss on his lips.
Bucky looked at you with a goofy smile, pulling back. "C'mon, doll. We still got some work to do cleaning up Zemo's mess."
"Someone's feeling better," You teased as you both began to walk. "You'd better show me some more of that jealousy later," You suggested.
"Oh, I will," Bucky smiled. "You bet your fine ass I will."

All Of Your Pieces (17 - Idiot Hope)
Chapter Summary: She followed you slowlyâcautiouslyâand you couldnât help but feel disappointed. Sheâs so guarded around you, and you couldnât even be angry about it. Once, this could have been different. Once, it wouldâve been easy. And you couldnât blame her. Not after everything you did.
After Lagos--Wanda wasn't yours to comfort, but that didn't mean you didn't want to try.
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Female Reader Chapter word count: 3.4k+ | Chapter Tags: Slight angst, hurt/comfort
A/N: We're not yet there, but we'll be--soon enough ;) I wanted a chapter dedicated to the aftermath of what Wanda did in Lagos // More author's notes here. GIF credits to the owner. Let me know is this is yours!
Series Masterlist | Main Masterlist
âThat wasnât her fault.â
The meeting room was a powder keg.
âShe made a call, Steve, and people died,â Tony said, as if Wanda wasnât sitting just several feet away from where he stood, holding up the Sokovian Accords like it was some sort of holy relic. âItâs irrelevant whether she had a choice in the matter or none.â
You stayed silent in your swivel, watching the argument unfold like a spectator at a match you didnât care enough to bet on. The Sokovian Accordsâthe debate over who got to control the Avengersâyou couldâve cared less. You didnât follow protocol anyway. You barely tolerated the existing ones. Another layer of red tape wasnât going to change how you operated. It was just another rule to break, another system to work around.
But your disinterest didnât mean you werenât paying attention.
Wanda sat at the edge of the table, so rigid you couldnât tell if she was still breathing. She hadnât said a word since the meeting started even as Stark was essentially throwing her under the bus. Her hands were clasped tightly in her lap, her knuckles pale. Her eyes stayed fixed on the table, but the furrow in her brow told you she wasnât just tuning out the conversation. She was absorbing every word.
Everyone knew why the Accords were front and center today. Everyone knew who this conversation was really about.
âShe made the best call she could under impossible circumstances,â Steve argued. He might be the most straight-laced person youâve ever met, but you couldnât help but admire the passion he brought to defending others time and time again. âYou think she wanted this to happen?â
âNo,â Tony raised his voice, something he rarely did. âBut that doesnât absolve herâor us. Weâre walking weapons, Rogers. All of us. And if we donât have oversightâif we donât have accountabilityâthis is going to keep happening.â
âAnd you think signing a piece of paper is going to change that?â Steve challenged.
Sam chose this moment to put his two cents. âSteveâs right. Weâve made tough calls before, and weâll make them again. Thatâs the job. What happened in Lagosâyeah, itâs a tragedy, but you canât legislate every choice we make in the field. Itâs not realistic.â
Rhodey shook his head. âItâs not legislating every choice, Wilson. Itâs setting boundaries. We have to answer to someone, or weâll lose what little trust weâve got left with the world.â
âAnswer to who?â Sam retorted.âA bunch of bureaucrats whoâve never set foot on a battlefield? Who donât know what itâs like to make life-and-death decisions in seconds? Theyâre not going to understand what we do out there.â
âThey donât have to understand it. They just have to believe weâre not a threat. And right now, we donât look good,â Natasha replied.
For a fleeting moment, you wished Clintâs retirement had been delayed, just long enough to hear his take on all this. Everyone had something to say, but you were so busy watching Wanda from the corner of your eye that none of them reached your ears. You kept waiting for the moment sheâd crack. You didnât know why, exactly. Maybe because you knew what it felt like to carry the weight of everyone elseâs mistakes. Maybe because you wanted to be there when she couldnât hold it in anymore.
Then Vision spoke.
âI must agree with Tony,â he began. You expected him to waver, to soften it somehow because Wanda was right there. But no. He wasnât apologetic. He wasnât unsure. He looked at everyone like the answer was obvious, like he couldnât understand why they were still debating.
Across the room, Wanda went impossibly still. âI need some air,â she said suddenly, pushing her chair back with a scrape that made you squirm. She didnât wait for anyoneâs permission, didnât look at anyone as she walked out. Not even Vision.
You told yourself to stay seated. You told yourself this wasnât your problemâthat you didnât care. And yet, before you could stop yourself, you were already out of your chair, already moving.
â
You found her outside the meeting room, leaning against the wall, her arms crossed tightly over her chest. Her breathing was shallow, her eyes red-rimmed but dry. She didnât look at you as you approached, but you stopped a few paces away, giving her space that said I donât want to crowd you, but Iâm here if you want to talk.
âThat wasnât your fault,â you said, the words barely leaving your mouth before you wanted to snatch them back. Steve had already told her. Hell, everyone in that room had tried to tell her. And now you were just the next in line, parroting the same hollow sentiment.
She snorted, a low, bitter sound that wasnât quite laughter but wasnât not laughter either.
âYou did what you could,â you continued. âNobody else wouldâveââ
âDonât,â she interrupted. âDonât try to make me feel better about it. I donât need that.â
You lowered your head, respecting her wishes, but you didnât walk away. There were moments when words didnât help when nothing you could say could ease the burden she carried. This was one of those times, and you knew it. So you stayed. If words werenât the answer, then maybe action was.Â
And then an idea came to you. PerhapsâŚthere was something you could show her. Something that might remind her of the ripple effects of her choices, the lives sheâd touched without even realizing it.
âWill you come with me? I want to show you something.â
She gave you a look that was equal parts skepticism and exhaustion, her shoulders slumping slightly. âI⌠I donât have it in me right now,â she murmured, her voice cracking under the strain. âIâm so tired.â
âItâll be worth it,â you said, offering her a small, hopeful smile. âI promise.â
You could feel your pulse drumming in your ears, blood rushing to your head, making you dizzy. If she came with you, it would be the first time in months the two of you were alone, just you and her. And if she didnât? If she stayed here, stewing in her guilt over Lagos, letting it eat her aliveâwell, you couldnât bear that either.
After a long pause, she pushed herself off the wall and straightened, albeit reluctantly. She didnât say another word as she followed you out of the building, trailing behind like someone preparing for disappointment but going along anyway.
The ride to the Bronx was quiet.Â
Wanda stared out the window, her reflection in the glass looking just as weary as the woman beside you. You kept your mouth shut, even though a thousand questions burned in your throat. Things like how her combat training was coming along, if sheâd found it useful in her last mission. You wanted to tell her about this new Eastern restaurant youâd stumbled upon, one you were sure sheâd love.Â
You pathetically craved small talk with Wanda, but you bit it all back, reminding yourself this wasnât that.
This wasnât two friends on a road trip. This was business. A teammate encouraging another. Nothing more, you told yourself, even if it felt like a lie.
When you finally pulled up in front of the small, unassuming building, she frowned.
âWhatâs this?â she asked, her voice wary and low.
âYouâll see,â you replied, stepping out and holding the door open for her.Â
She followed you slowlyâcautiouslyâand you couldnât help but feel disappointed. Sheâs so guarded around you, and you couldnât even be angry about it. Once, this could have been different. Once, it wouldâve been easy. And you couldnât blame her. Not after everything you did.
Once inside the building, Wanda found herself in a narrow hallway. A small reception desk was tucked off to the side, and above it, the ceiling was adorned with simple decorationsâlittle drawings that looked like theyâd been done by children. The faint scent of crayons and cleaning solution teased your noses.
âWhere are we?â Wanda whispered distractedly as her eyes wandered, taking in the surroundings.
Before you could answer, a woman behind the reception desk looked up and smiled warmly when she saw you. âItâs good to see you again, Y/N,â she said. âThe kids will be so happy.â
âKids?â Wanda echoed.Â
You smiled at the woman and asked, âThe playroom?â
She nodded, pointing down the hall. âJust straight ahead. You know the way.â
Wanda trailed after you, her arms crossed tightly over her chest again. âI donât know what you think this is going to do,â she said.
âJust trust me,â you replied, confident that she could really trust you on this thing. âI think youâll understand in a minute.â
When you opened the door to the playroom, the most joyful sounds greeted you. Children of all ages were scattered all over the roomâsome playing with toys, others chasing each other with giggles and squeals. A few heads turned at your arrival, their faces lighting up when they saw you.
âMiss Y/N!â one of the older boys called out, running up to you with an excited grin. You knelt to greet him, exchanging a few kind words before standing again and glancing back at Wanda.Â
She lingered in the doorway, her posture uncertain, as though she wasnât sure she belonged here. For a moment, despite the few years she had on you, she looked almost childlikeâvulnerable, hesitant, and quietly yearning for the same thing these children sought.
âA lot of them came here after losing everythingâsome from Sokovia. Theyâre waiting for families now. Some of them already have new homes,â you told Wanda as you walked to a nearby bulletin board covered in photographsâsmiling children with their adoptive families, snapshots of bright, hopeful futures. Gently, you unpinned a polaroid of a little girl with dark hair and a radiant smile, holding it carefully in your hand.
âSheâs from Sokovia,â you said softly, handing the photo to Wanda. âHer family didnât make it through the attack. But she did. Because of you.â
Wanda stared at the photo, her eyebrows drawn tight in concentration. You couldnât quite tell what was going through her head. Her thumb skimmed the edges, but she didnât say a wordâher lips were pressed into a thin line, and you caught the slight hitch in her throat as she swallowed hard.
âShe has a family now,â you continued, âshe goes to school, plays soccer, and dreams about becoming a doctor someday. Her life⌠everything sheâs doing now⌠none of it wouldâve been possible if not for what you and Pietro did. If you hadnât warned us, if you hadnât made the choice to defect fromâŚâ
You let the sentence trail off, leaving the rest unsaid. Wandaâs fingers curled slightly around the photo, her eyes still locked on the little girl.
Oh, Wanda, you thought to yourself. Youâre a good person stuck with impossible choices.
âHer home was destroyed,â Wanda said after a long silence. You noticed the way she said her home, not our home. Sokovia was hers too, but it was like calling it that hurt too much, so sheâd pushed herself out of the equation. âWe couldnât save it.â
âNo, we couldnât,â you agreed, not sugarcoating it. âBut you gave her a chance for a new home. And that matters.â
She gave you back the photo. âSometimes it doesnât feel like enough,â she whispered, so softly you almost didnât catch it.
It was never going to be enough. That was the reality of this work. The Avengers could save millions by the time it was all over, rewrite the course of history with every battle foughtâand still, it wouldnât be enough. There would always be someone you failed to reach. Blood on your hands that no amount of victory could wash away.
Because the truth was, no matter how many you saved, the ones you lost would always outlive them in your memory.
But this wasnât the right time to tell Wanda all that. You wanted to give her hope. You wanted to give her everything.
âMaybe not for youânot yet,â you accused. âBut for her? For all of them?â You gestured to the room, where a group of children were now gathered around a train set that one of the volunteers just finished putting together. âItâs more than enough.â
For a moment, she didnât say anything. Then, slowly, she exhaled, her shoulders dropping a fraction as though some of the weight had finally started to ease. She looked up at you, her eyes glassy but clearer than theyâd been when you found her outside the meeting room.
âWhy are you showing me this?â Wanda asked.
âBecause I wanted you to see what I see,â you said simply. âYouâre not just the sum of your mistakes, Wanda. Youâre the sum of everything youâve doneâthe good and the bad. And I think you need to be reminded of the good.â
You werenât entirely sure where those words came from. Maybe youâd been holding onto them for a while, turning them over in your mind every time you watched Wanda. But as they left your mouth, you realized how much you meant them. This wasnât just something to make her feel betterâit was what you truly believed.
You swore you caught the faintest hint of pink dusting her cheeks, and your heart soared at the sight of it.
Wandaâs fingers twitched, and that familiar red aura youâd come to know shimmered to life around her hands. The idle train set shuddered, then sprang into motion as if summoned by unseen magicâWandaâs magic. The little engine emitted a soft hum as it began to circle the track, its wheels turning smoothly.Â
âLook! Itâs moving!â one of the kids shouted, pointing at the train as it chugged along the tracks. The children erupted in cheers and applause, their faces glowing with surprise and delight.Â
You couldnât help but smile, and when you glanced at Wanda, she was smiling tooâso naturally, so effortlessly in a way you hadnât seen in far too long. The second she caught you looking, her smile faltered, slipping away as her hands dropped to her sides, almost as if embarrassed to have been caught.
You smirked, mouthing a quiet âthank youâ.
Wanda hesitated, then let her smile return, smaller this time but still very real.
â
The ride back to the compound was not as suffocating as it had been earlier. Wanda, still reserved, sat with her arms crossed loosely, her gaze focused out the window. Every so often, sheâd comment on something as you drove byâthe faded mural on the side of an old diner, the ridiculous neon sign for a pawn shop that flickered in broad daylight. Her voice was soft, almost unsure, but it was something. And after so much silence, even these small remarks were satisfying.
By the time you pulled up to the compound, dusk was setting in. You parked the car and Wanda stepped out first, stretching her legs after the long ride. You followed, grabbing your things from the backseat before stepping onto the gravel.
Thatâs when you saw him.
Vision stood at the entrance, hands folded neatly behind his back. A crease between his brows. His lips pressed a fraction too tight.
If he werenât the most logical, even-keeled person in the compoundâpossibly in the entire worldâyou mightâve thought he looked jealous. Seeing his girlfriend with her former object of affection mightâve rattled him, after all.
âWanda,â Vision said as you both approached. âMay I speak with you?â
Wanda froze mid-step, her foot hovered as if she couldnât decide whether to keep moving or stay rooted in place. She turned halfway, glancing over her shoulder at you. Like she wanted you to give her a reason to walk away or a sign to stay.
You gave her a small, sad smile and quietly excused yourself. This wasnât your place. Whatever this was, it wasnât for you to meddle with. Determined to get inside without further fuss, you moved past them, eyes forward, when Vision spoke.
âY/N,â Vision said, though his eyes never left Wanda.
You stopped for a second, muttering, âVision,â under your breath before continuing without another glance.
In the kitchen, you dumped your bag on the counter and grabbed a glass from the cabinet, filling it from the tap. The water was cold, sharp against the dryness in your throat. You leaned against the counter, staring into the empty glass like it might give you answers.
It didnât. It never did.
â
Later that night, a knock dragged you out of your bookâyour third this week. You couldnât even remember the last sentence youâd read.
Foolishly, you hoped it was Wanda. Some naĂŻve part of you clung to the idea that after the moment you shared this afternoon, sheâd come to you. Initiate something for once. You knew better, but hopeâs an idiot, always has been.
That idiot hope was short-lived though when you answered and discovered who was on the other side of the door.
The last person you expected to show up.
âY/N? May I have a word with you?â Vision asked, though it didnât sound exactly like a request.
You leaned against the doorframe casually. âSure.â
Vision stepped inside without waiting for your permission. He stopped in the middle of the room, looking around like he was checking for an audience. He seemedâŚnervous. Weird to think about Vision being nervous. He was usually so self-assuredâand you envied that about him sometimes.
âI spoke with Wanda,â he started. Straight to business.
âOkay.â You didnât bother inviting him to elaborate. You figured he would anyway.
âShe mentioned you took her to an orphanage. In the Bronx.â
You nodded. âYeah.â
âWhy?â
That made you laugh, a quick, dry sound. âWhy not?â
âIt seemed to have an impact on her,â Vision said.
âThat was the point.â
He seemed to be in deep thought, and it was unusual seeing him this wayâ It wasnât like him to take this long, to seem unsure, unable to source the answer from his extensive library.
âWhat were you hoping to achieve?â he finally asked.
You let out another laugh, softer this time. âJesus, Vision. You think I had some big master plan? She needed to get out of her own head for a while. Thatâs it. I took her somewhere that might remind her sheâs not just⌠everything she thinks sheâs messed up.â
âShe hasnât been herself,â Vision said, as if you hadnât noticed.
âNo kidding.â
He clasped his hands tighter, the nerves bleeding into his posture now, stiffer than usual. âI want to help her,â he said. âBut I donât understand what she needs.â
âMaybe she doesnât either,â you said, following it with a heavy sigh. You knew that one too well, the feeling of walking around like a locked door with no key.
Vision looked down, just for a second. âI fear time may not be enough.â
You stared at him for a moment, trying to figure out what he wanted from you. He had Wanda. He had every rightâevery opportunityâto ask her how she was feeling, to figure out if she was okay, or if taking her to that Sokovian restaurant she loved might lift her spirits. Instead, he was here, asking you for adviceâyet again.
âYou donât think I know that?â you said finally. âYouâre not the only one who gives a damn about her.â
Vision didnât seem at all bothered by you admitting you cared about Wanda. It took a few seconds before you realized what youâd just admitted. Out loud. To someone else. For the very first time.
You cared about Wanda.
âI know,â Vision said evenly. âAnd thatâs why I came to you. Youâve always understood her in a way I havenât been able to.â
That stopped you short. You looked away, jaw tightening. Understood her? He didnât know what he was talking about. And yet⌠part of you wanted it to be true.
âSheâs your girlfriend,â you said, feeling like you had to wrestle the words out of your mouth. âYou know her better than anyone.â
That seemed to snap Vision out of whatever fantasy heâd built of you holding all the answers to his Wanda-shaped puzzle.Â
âThank you for your time,â he said. âAnd for what you did for Wanda today.â And with that, Vision turned and left.
You shut the door slowly, leaning your forehead against the cool surface before drawing out a breath you didnât know youâd been holding. It didnât matter if Vision was wrong. Youâd still care. Youâd still keep showing up, doing what you could.
Because this Idiot Hope? It wasnât stamped out after all. It was still there, clawing its way to the surface every time she looked your way, even if it was just for a secondâhoping sheâd look a little longer.

Return of The Hunter
Continuing my Hunter series with no timeline in mind. This one is set during Endgame.
Summary: The Avengers have a plan to reverse the Snap, Steve and Natasha find themselves in a club searching for you.
"We're going to find them here?" Steve whispers, carefully picking his way through the mass of dancing bodies.
"You doubt my information gathering skills?" Natasha lets out a low chuckle, nudging her way to the bar. Steve hurriedly follows her lead, keeping his head down while stealing glances at the people around him. They're all living in their own worlds, dancing the night away and he catches glimpses of what looks like drugs being passed around.
The world has gone to shit every since the Snap happened. Crime rates have risen, many places have fallen into lawless ruin, power vacuums have been created and filled countless times as ambitious people seek for ways to get ahead amidst the chaos. The Avengers have lost members, their band torn apart by the Sokovian Accords and the Snap. Thor and the Hulk have gone missing since the Sokovian Accords, Hawkeye has vanished ever since the Snap, and Steve has no one left except Natasha. Bucky and Sam had been Snapped into dust along with King T'Challa, Rhodey was still alive but he wasn't that close to Tony's right hand, and he didn't know the status of anyone else.
It had been a hard five years on everyone, and that was evident when what remained of the Avengers gathered for the first time since the Sokovian Accords split them apart.
Tony had a life, a family but had chosen to be Iron Man once more. Rhodey as always was right behind him. Hawkeye, no, Ronin had agreed to join so that he could get his family back. Natasha, the ever steadfast woman had been the one to rope Clint back into the group. Hulk and Bruce had merged together and were more than willing to lend their brilliant mind to save the world.
On top of that, the Guardians of the Galaxy had joined them in their quest to reverse the Snap. They had lost members too, and wanted them back. Steve could respect that, he understood their drive more than he cared to admit. He'd lost Bucky for a second time, and that cut deeper than any would could. He'd lost Sam, a precious and irreplaceable friend. So here he was, in a club with Natasha to find you, The Hunter, and ask for your help in reversing the Snap as you were one of the few people left whom he knew.
He'd interacted somewhat with you before. You were fierce, loyal, driven, and most of all a firm anchor for Bucky. The first time he had met you was back in SHIELD, where he, along with Natasha had tracked down the Winter Soldier and stopped HYDRA. You were reserved, guarded, but an effective fighter, helping greatly in the fight against HYDRA and had given Bucky a safehouse to stay in the aftermath of it all.
Steve greatly appreciated the gesture, and was surprised to see how close you and Bucky were. You had sided with him during the fight at the airport which had landed you in The Raft and made Bucky anxious but Steve had managed to reassure his best friend into leaving you behind. He'd seen the reluctance with which the two of you had parted, the gentle touches and soft whispers that had been exchanged, but he'd also seen the way Bucky lit up when you walked into the Wakandan medical room he was sitting in after being freed from the Raft, seen the way the both of you embraced each other. You were Bucky's lifeline and he was yours, you were inseparable from one another.
Then the Snap happened. You'd watched Bucky crumble to dust before your very eyes, watched as he reached out a disintegrating hand towards you, listened as his mouth whispered your name, his final word. If it had hurt so much for him to see Bucky disappear, he couldn't imagine how you'd felt that day.
"Steve?" Natasha's voice snaps him out of his thoughts. He blinks and gives her a confused look.
"Come on, this way." She gently tugs at his arm, shooting him a look of concern but he waves it off and follows her.
The moment he steps through the door, the entire scene changes. Gone are the bodies swaying to the beat, gone are the laughter and cheers that accompany the smell of alcohol, gone are the smiles and seductive glances. Instead, roars and jeers fill the air, the smell of cigarettes and alcohol stings his nose, and the sound of flesh hitting flesh shakes him out of his stupor.
"You're in for a treat! The person you're looking for is currently fighting in The Cage." The man who led them here grins at him and Natasha widely. "Enjoy yourselves!"
He leaves with a cackle and Natasha grimaces. "Well, I guess we'll have to wait for them to finish their fight."
Steve pushes his way to the front, Natasha using the path he carved through the bodies to find a spot next to him and watches the fight everyone is so hyped up about with him. It's nothing like what he expected, it really is just a cage match where the contestants brawl until one surrenders or dies. It's raw, painful, and visceral.
You're bleeding from your nose, panting, and Steve can see the bruises littering your sides. Your knuckles are raw and bloodied, the floor you're standing on is stained with splatters of blood, and you're clearly winning, but you're hunched over. There's no light in your eyes, they're empty orbs devoid of life and it hurts Steve to see the state you're in.
Your opponent throws a punch that Steve knows you can easily dodge but the fist connects with your jaw and sends you flying. Your back hits the bars of the metal cage with a loud clang and he hears you grunt in pain. He winces, watching you stand back up and spit out a tooth.
Then you laugh.
Your laughter rings out, cutting cleanly through the noise of the spectators and suddenly the roar from the stands becomes deafening. The people around him start to hoot, shouting for you to cave your opponent's face in and he sees Natasha grit her teeth. She's enjoying this as much as he is.
"Is that the hardest you can hit? Pathetic." You grin, blood trickling from the corner of your mouth. You raise your fists and beckon him forward with a finger. "Try again, weakling."
Your opponent snarls furiously and charges straight for you. His fist skims along your cheek but your fist breaks his nose and Steve hears the crunch of the bone beneath. Blood pours from your opponent's nose and he staggers backwards but you don't give him any time to recover. Lunging forward, you press the attack, slamming fist after fist into his flesh until he falls to the ground and doesn't get back up.
The bell sounds, calling out your victory but your head remains hanging, bloody fists clenched tightly. The body of your opponent is dragged out of the cage, leaving streaks of red on the grey floor and all you do is stand there, hair messily falling over your face.
"Hunter! Hunter! Hunter!" The crowd hollers but you pay them no mind. You simply leave the cage, heading off down a corridor and Steve runs after you, Natasha following close behind.
"Leave." Your tone is curt. You're washing your hands, turning the water red. You don't even look up to acknowledge the two of them and move to bandage your ruined knuckles. Steve takes a step forward into the room and you shoot him a glare.
"I said leave." Your hand rests on the door, ready to slam it on them but Natasha clears her throat.
"You're a mess, Hunter."
"It's none of your business, Widow." Your lips curl into a sneer. "Now get lost before I make you."
"No." Steve pushes his way in. "Buck wouldn't want to see you like this."
"Good thing he's not here then." You spit. "Last warning. Get out."
"Buck â"
"We've found a way to reverse the Snap." Natasha cuts in, shushing Steve. "Are you going to help bring Barnes back?"
You freeze, eyes wide. "ReverseâŚthe Snap?"
The words leave your lips in a whisper and Steve sees a flicker of life in your eyes but it fades just as quickly. You turn away, shaking your head. "That's impossible."
"It's not. We're going to go back in time to collect the Infinity Stones and recreate the Snap to bring everyone back." Steve grabs you by the shoulder. "But to pull it off we need your help."
"You don't. The people you need are heroes, not monsters." You push his hand off. "I'm not cut out for saving the world."
"We don't need you to save the world. We just need you to save Barnes." Natasha places a hand on her hip. "So, are you going to save him or not?"
She knows she has you, all it really takes is to mention the man you love deeply and she has you hook line and sinker. You turn to look at her, taking a deep breath and sigh.
"IâŚI'm not who I was before. I â" Your eyes turn golden as you dodge the bullet that flies past your head, hands automatically moving to where you used to keep your holsters and Natasha grins triumphantly, gun in hand.
"You were saying?"
"Fine. But I'm not doing this to save the world or anything grandiose like that, I'm doing this to bring back the man I love." You walk over to your messy cot and lift up the mattress, revealing the stash hidden beneath. "I'm not that selfless."
"Don't need you to be, Hunter. Just need your skills." Natasha gives you a smile. "See you at the entrance of the club in five?"
"Three." You're already strapping on the first holster and Steve catches a glimmer of fire in your eyes. He smiles and Natasha quietly chuckles.
The Hunter has returned.

It was a struggle for Y/N to settle in to living at the compound, although it was a comfort to them for Wanda also being there, when sheâs not on missions, it was hard for them to be completely comfortable, knowing that the others didnât really trust them.
âWelcome back girls.â Steve smiled once both Wanda and Nat returned from their recon mission, Wanda could sense that Y/N wasnât at the compound.
âWhereâs Y/N?â She questioned before greeting the team.
âThey went on their own mission.â Tony informed her.
âIn other words, killing in cold blood.â Steve scoffed, earning a glare from Wanda.
âItâs not cold blood if it stops Hydra from ever forming again.â Bucky retorted, turning Steveâs attention to him.
âYou donât know that these people have links to Hydra, for all we know it could just be their own hitlist.â Steve countered, watching as Bucky shook his head.
âYou donât understand Steve.â He spoke calmly. âYou were never a part of Hydra, you were never their puppet, manipulated into doing their work. You were always the good one, on the good side.â
âThat doesnât mean that what theyâre doing is right.â Steve raised his voice slightly.
âSo, would you rather there be a chance that Hydra rebuilds, without any one being able to stop it?â Bucky questioned. âInnocent people going missing for them to be experimented on and tortured?â
âWe would be able to stop it the right way.â Steve tried, making Wanda chuckle dryly.
âNo, we wouldnât.â She spoke up. âWhat Y/N is doing is the right way, they are making sure that no innocent people will ever be hurt again, no families would experience the loss that we have all endured, that Y/N has endured.â
âThis is unbelievable.â Steve muttered as he turned to walk away.
âTheyâre right, Frosty.â Tony added, making Nat chuckle at the nickname. âY/Nâs way is more of a preventative measure.â
âDo you agree with this?â He asked Natasha, who looked him straight in the eyes.
âIf I thought there was a chance that someone would rebuild the Red Room, I would do what Y/N is doing right now.â Natasha told him honestly, her arms crossed. âSo yes, I do agree with them.â
âBut these people have families of their own.â He tried as Nat shrugged.
âIt stops them from brainwashing their children, or grandchildren into thinking Hydra would be the solution to every government or world issue.â She told him firmly. âGovernments, politicians and agencies all have their own agendas to benefit themselves, I remember you once said that when you went against the Sokovian Accords to protect your best friend.â
âBucky was innocent, we all know this.â Steve tried weakly, knowing he was losing his argument.
âI still have a lot of blood on my hands, innocent blood.â He reminded him. âIt doesnât matter if I was under their mind control and had no idea what I was doing, but it was still my hands that followed through on their orders, the assassinations.â With that Steve just walked out, leaving them all behind in a huff.
âWhen will he get that self righteous icicle from up his ass?â Y/N spoke from behind them, making everyone turn around, the smile on their face growing as their eyes met Wandaâs.
âYouâre back?â Wanda questioned as Y/N nodded. âI thought you would be gone longer?â
âI am, as they say, efficient at my job.â They smirked, making her shake her head.
âIâm happy youâre back.â She told them, patting their arm awkwardly before she stepped away. âI am going to get cleaned up.â She said as she started her way towards her room, Nat followed her into her bedroom, closing the door behind them.
âWhat was that?â Nat questioned as Wanda shrugged, feigning ignorance. âYou know exactly what I mean, Wanda, with the awkward pat.â
âWhat do you want me to say?â Wanda questioned as she sat on the edge of her bed. âThat I have some unresolved feelings, especially since they came back into my life after spending a couple of years thinking they had died in my arms.â She sighed as she began to play with the sleeves of her sweater. âTruthfully, I donât have any unresolved feelings towards them, because I know how I felt about them. I remember the feeling as though it was yesterday and I still have those feelings, maybe even stronger now.â
âBut what about Vision?â Nat questioned as Wanda shook her head.
âI donât know, I know I felt something for him, but with Y/N itâs different.â Wanda admitted. âI canât quite explain it because I never thought I would ever feel as safe as I did when I was in Hydra.â She chuckled lightly before continuing. âI know how weird that sounds, given Hydraâs history and all, but they made me feel safe, I knew that while I was there, I wouldnât ever come into harm's way, neither did my brother. Y/N cared for the both of us, unlike any of the other guards who worked there.â
âWhat about when they werenât there? They must have needed to take a day or two.â Nat questioned as Wanda shook her head.
âThey were there every day, without fail.â Wanda told her. âOr they had the only other guard they knew that they could trust, watch over us while they accompanied Strucker. Y/N saved both myself and Pietro, on multiple occasions, knowing just how it would end for them if they ever got caught.â
âYou were in love with them.â Nat stated, earning a shush from Wanda.
âI was.â She whispered before she looked at her hands. âAnd I still am.â She admitted. âBut I donât know what to do, Iâm not even sure I am ready for it myself, especially with Vision in the picture.â
âYou do know, you will have to choose.â Nat told her. âYou know both of them would want you to be happy, no matter what or who you decide.â
âI know.â Wanda took a deep breath. âBut I am not ready to lose anyone else, not yet, not ever.â
âIâm sorry about Steve.â Bucky spoke as he entered the training room, seeing Y/N at the weights. âHe thinks that there is always a choice, especially when people's lives are in our hands.â
âBut how many people has he killed during war? How many enemies has he killed during missions?â Y/N questioned, putting the weights down. âHe thinks he is doing good, following orders like the good soldier, for the same government in which Hydra had hidden inside of over the decades.â
âTrust me, I understand where you are coming from.â Bucky started before being cut off by them.
âYou donât understand.â They told him. âOnce he knew that you were still alive, he never gave up on you, he fought to get you back to being you. He is your friend, your brother in arms, I never had anyone who would fight for me like that. I had my family taken away from me, I watched them die before my own eyes and I was just a stupid kid who couldnât save them.â They took a shaky breath before continuing. âI couldnât save my younger brother. He was barely five years old and he died in my arms. Strucker watched me break on that night, he took away the last bit of happiness and hope I had left. So yeah, I remained with Hydra, following through on the orders I was given, that was until I met Wanda and Pietro. They reminded me what it meant to be family, to have someone who would go to the literal ends of the earth for you, because they would have died for each other, and their home. They reminded me that, maybe yeah, working with Hydra isnât the greatest choice, hell, itâs not smart either but they only joined because they were misled, Hydra took their beliefs, their faith and used it for their own gains, making themselves two weapons that would match the greatness of the Winter Soldier. Steve may have seen war over the years heâs been on top, but he hasnât seen the same war that you and I have so he doesnât understand.â Bucky only nodded, knowing they were right with everything they had just told him. âNot everyoneâs war is the same war, whether it be physical or mental.â With that they walked away, heading up towards the kitchen to grab some water.
âYouâre new here.â A voice sounded as Y/N opened the fridge.
âUnfortunately, I am.â They answered, turning to face a teenager.
âAre you an Avenger?â He questioned excitedly.
âNot really, no.â Y/N answered him honestly. âAre you?â They questioned him.
âNo, Mr Stark doesnât think Iâm responsible enough.â He told them, jumping down from the counter. âBut I am your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.â He smiled confidently.
âOh, so youâre the bug kid?â They teased him with a smirk.
âNo, Iâm Spiderman.â He answered them seriously.
âJust a question, how do you manage to climb walls or ceilings, if it's because your skin is like that of a spiders, how does that work through the costume?â They asked him, a serious expression on their face.
âI donât really know.â He pondered, thinking about it. âI never really thought about it.â
âIâm only joking, kid.â They told him with a light chuckle, heading towards the exit. âI need to go and shower, but it was nice meeting you Spiderman.â
âPeter, Peter Parker.â He held out his hand for them to shake.
âY/N.â They introduced themselves before heading straight to their room, Steve entering shortly after they left.
âDonât interact with them.â He ordered Peter. âYou donât know what kind of killer they are.â
âTechnically, arenât we all killers in some way.â Peter told him honestly.
âThey are different, dangerous and untrustworthy.â Steve told him sternly.
âI think I can trust my own judgment Mr Rogers.â Peter told him confidently before retreating towards Tonyâs lab, leaving Steve defeated.
As the days went on, Y/N still remained distant from the rest of the team, only going to the kitchen for food or water, and training at night while everyone was either asleep or occupied with other things. One night, they never expected to have company whilst they were doing their own training.
âHey.â Nat spoke up as she entered the room, watching as Y/N soon started to put down the equipment they were using.
âI was just finishing up.â They started before grabbing their belongings and heading towards the exit.
âI didn't want you to leave, Y/N.â Nat told them calmly. Y/N observed her, trying to figure out what she wanted. âI know itâs hard for you to settle in here right now, especially with Steve on his high horse.â
âWhat are you trying to get across?â Y/N asked her, tilting their head as Nat shuffled on her feet and glancing around the room.
âYou were right, we all have blood on our hands, whether we intended or not.â She started, Y/N remained silent as they listened to her. âYou are more alike to a vast majority of us here, we have all had a bad start in our careers but we had the chance to turn it around, fight for something thatâs worth fighting for and Steve, he just doesnât understand that. He has always fought for good, he has never had to endure the lack of choices the rest of us here have. He just doesnât understand that sometimes freedom of choice isnât always an option.â
âThatâs not going to change how he sees me, he wonât ever trust me, not alone nor a part of this team.â They told her honestly.
âThen prove it to him.â She told them firmly. âProve it that you can be trusted, not only as a part of this team but as a person.â Y/N then turned to walk away before she started to talk again. âYou know, Wanda seems happier with having you here and back in her life. Iâve never really seen her so settled here, not before you came here.â
âShe deserves to be happy.â Y/N spoke quietly, turning back to her once more. âThatâs all I have ever wanted for her, to be happy and safe, and I know she is safe here with all of you.â With that they left the training room, leaving Nat alone in the empty room. Y/N had started to feel a new sense of belonging since having that conversation with Nat, feeling more at ease in their new home.
âSo, you only have one more job left on your Hydra Agenda?â Maria questioned as she joined Y/N in their room, looking over the information they had gathered on the last name.
âYeah, but this may be harder than all of the others.â They told her, giving her the folder. âTheodore is the head of an old Mafia family, his location is like a fortress.â They informed her. âItâs going to be harder for me to just sneak in and get the job done under the radar like I have all of the others.â
âAnd it seems he has doubled his security measures too.â She murmured as she combed through the pages. âSo youâre going to need a team.â
âBut with this one, we may be able to take down this whole organization itself.â Y/N stated. âIt will help the local police too, especially since most of the crime here is caused by them.â
âWe can always talk to Fury about putting a team together and then we can take them.â Maria told them. âIâll speak with Fury and see if we can spare a team of SHIELD agents and when we can get this job done.â Y/N thanked her before she left their room, shortly after Wanda entered, leaning against the door frame.
âHey.â She spoke softly, gaining their attention, gesturing to her to come inside.
âHey.â They smiled awkwardly as they turned their desk chair to face her. âAre you okay?â They asked as they watched her walk around their room, observing the decor.
âYou havenât decorated, you know, like made this room your own.â She told them as she turned to face them.
âWell, I donât exactly know what Iâm supposed to do.â They admitted shyly. âI havenât really thought of colours or anything else like that since, well you know.â They looked down at their hands, sadness evident in their posture.
âThatâs okay.â Wanda reassured them. âMaybe we can make this room more your style if youâd like.â
âI donât even know what my style is.â They chuckled as they rose from their chair, heading towards their closet. âI think I just dress in the same colours of my uniforms, which luckily is always black.â They didnât watch as Wanda found an old picture of herself and Pietro when they were teens.
âYou found this?â She questioned as she picked it up, a small smile on her face.
âI uh, Maria found it on the ground near me when they found me.â They admitted sheepishly. âI couldnât not keep it, I know this is going to seem messed up but you and Pietro were like the only family I had ever had over the years. You both made me see what it was like to finally have hope and someone who would always have your back.â
âItâs not messed up.â She whispered shakily, her eyes burning into Y/Nâs, neither of them breaking away. âI just thought it was lost forever.â
âNo.â They shook their head. âI lo..â They stopped before thinking carefully what to say. âI like having that picture around, because it reminded me of the two of you.â
âYou know, Pietro thought highly of you, even with your position at Hydra.â She told them as she placed the photo back down. âWhen we thought you died, he uh, he was almost as broken as I was.â She admitted as she sat down on the edge of their bed, playing with her fingers.
âI am sorry.â They apologised once more, only for Wanda to wave it off.
âYou donât need to keep apologising for that.â She chuckled lightly as she looked in their eyes, her gaze soft as she spoke. âThe important thing is that you are here, youâre alive and I finally have you back.â She took a shaky breath as Y/N listened to her words. âI understand that you couldnât come and look for me, and thatâs okay.â
âI did want to find you.â Y/N admitted shyly. âI wanted to make sure that you were okay, that you were safe and well you are, given the circumstances.â They took a deep breath before they spoke once more, looking at her intensely. âI really am sorry about Pietro, he was a hero, not just to you or me, but to the whole world and your home.â Wanda nodded before she wiped her eyes, Y/N was quick to move to sit beside her, cautiously wrapping an arm around her.
âThank you.â She sniffled as she looked at them as they sat beside her. âBut, maybe we should go shopping for some paint and decorate this room. Get you out of this compound and maybe have some freedom from work.â
âYeah, we should do that.â They agreed as they removed their arm from her. âMaybe after my last target.â
âAre you almost done with that list?â She questioned as Y/N nodded.
âI just have to assemble a team to accompany me on this one.â They told her. âUnfortunately, this last one knows that someone is onto them and well, itâs going to be extremely difficult to do my usual thing.â
âI can help.â Wanda started as Y/N shook their head no. âWhy not?â She questioned as she stood up, her eyes burning into them.
âI just.â They started before they let go of a breath they were holding in. âFury is picking the team so I donât really have a choice who is joining me.â Wanda observed them, hoping they would say something else but only to receive silence.
âOkay.â Wanda pursed her lips before she headed towards the door, wanting to say something more but deciding not to as she left them alone in their room. Y/N looked at their door before they groaned and lay back on their bed.
âYou know, itâs kind of sad how you both tip toe around each other.â Nat spoke up with a smirk as she leaned on their door frame.
âAre you sure you donât have some sort of superpower?â Y/N questioned as she just chuckled.
âNope, I am just extremely bored and well I have been asked to accompany you, Maria, Clint and some other agents on your next trip.â She informed them as she stepped in their room. âBut you should really grow a pair of balls and tell her how you really feel.â She told them quietly as she stepped inside their room and closed the door.
âI donât know what you mean.â They tried as Nat moved to sit in their desk chair.
âYeah, you do.â She told them. âI can see how you look at her, ever since you came here you give her the same look every time.â
âI canât tell her.â They said as they sat up, facing the Widow. âI just got her back and I donât want to lose her again. I canât do that again, she was my lifeline whilst we were both in Hydra, the one person who helped me hold on to the hope that I had already thought I had lost when I was younger.â
âTrust me, you wonât lose her.â Nat told them softly. âI can see just how important you are to her too.â
âReally?â They asked hopefully.
âReally, itâs kind of a hobby of mine to observe everyone and figure out things before anyone else does.â She told them with a smirk. âI donât like to be the last to know, and itâs even better when I know things before Stark because he hates not always figuring things out.â
âThank you.â Y/N spoke shyly as they picked at their cuticles. âItâs nice to have a friend, if thatâs what we even are.â The two shared a laugh as Nat nodded.
âWeâre friends.â She told them as she stood up. âBut, I would kick your ass if you hurt Wanda in any way shape or form.â
âYou wouldnât need to.â They told her, watching as she raised a brow. âI would kick my own ass if I ever did something to hurt her, no matter how small it is.â Nat smiled before she headed towards the door.
âGood.â She smiled before opening the door. âI shall see you at the briefing for our mission.â With that she left the room, Y/N remained in their spot, thinking about what Nat had just told them before deciding to get up to find Wanda. Searching her room and everywhere else they could think of before they entered the kitchen, watching as Wanda cooked as Vision helped her, Wanda laughing as Vision spoke to her, their chest tightening at the scene that played before them before deciding to head back to their room. Not realising that Wanda knew they were there, a sad look in her eye at the doorway of the kitchen before she continued her conversation with Vision.
âAre you okay, Wanda?â Vision questioned as he observed her change in mood.
âOh, yeah.â Wanda over compensated as she continued to cook.
âI am not entirely an expert on human emotions, but I can see that you are clearly troubled by something.â He told her. âYou have actually been like this since Y/N had arrived here.â
âItâs nothing.â She tried to wave him off.
âWanda, I like to think that you and I are somewhat friends.â He spoke as he watched her actions. âAnd not just because of the connection with the mind stone, so I just want you to know that if ever you need to talk about anything, I am always here for you.â
âThank you Vis.â Wanda spoke quietly, keeping her eye on the task at hand as the next few moments were filled with silence before she spoke again. âI just want to know why they wouldnât want me to accompany them on their last job on this list, they told me itâs a dangerous one and that they need a team.â She slammed the wooden spoon down as she continued. âI have my powers, I am in control and I will help more so than any of the trained SHIELD agents Fury will assign.â
âMaybe theyâre just thinking about your safety.â He reasoned with her. âI understand that they have always wanted to keep you safe, as from the stories you have told me.â
âBut I need to think about their safety too.â Wanda told him. âI canât go through losing them, not again, Iâm not strong enough.â
âYou are stronger than you think Wanda.â Vision told her before the two carried on with their task.
As the days went on leading up to the mission, Y/N had tried their hardest to avoid both Wanda and Vision, after witnessing their interaction in the kitchen as they both cooked, but as they were getting their gear all set, secretly hoping for Wanda to come to see them off, but she had had the same idea as them.
âAll set?â Nat questioned as they approached the car, getting in the passenger seat without another word.
âSo, does everyone understand what the plan is?â Y/N asked her, ignoring her observing glance.
âThey do, no one comes out alive.â She informed them, watching from the corner of her eye as they nodded. âAre you going to be okay?â She asked them as she drove towards their destination.
âYeah.â They told her bluntly.
âAre you sure? âCause it seems like you have your knickers stuck up your ass right now.â She told them, making them look over at her.
âI am sure.â They told her. âAnd for the record, I wear boxers. Knickers would strangle my bollocks.â
âI didnât want to know that!â She exclaimed with disgust on her face, making Y/N chuckle as they approached the rendezvous point for their mission. Seeing the team of agents who were assigned along with Maria and Clint who were both ready to complete the mission. âBut, weâll get this bastard.â She told them as they got themselves ready, placing their mask over their head before exiting the car with her, weapons in arms as they approached the others. Maria was going over the plan once more, making sure that everyone knew their positions and the goal of this mission before they all made their way to infiltrate the fortress. Clint being their eyes from high above, alerting them all on comms of when they had come across an enemy, ready to take them down.
Both Y/N and Nat were making their way swiftly through the halls, shooting anyone who was a threat to either of them, heading straight towards Theodoreâs room. Y/N had one goal in mind and that was to completely disable any chance of Hydra being reborn. As the air was filled with the sound of gunshots and yelling, both Nat and Y/N had approached the door to Theodoreâs room, Y/N had signaled for Nat to breach the door, throwing in a flashbang before Y/N had entered the room, shooting anyone who was armed in the process before their eyes found Theodore, who had a gun raised at them.
âWhat do you want from me?â He questioned as he had aimed his weapon at Y/Nâs head.
âThis.â Y/N answered bluntly before pulling the trigger, watching as he dropped to the ground as Nat followed behind them.
âLooks like you didnât need to buddied-up after all.â She smirked as they turned to face her. âYou practically cleared this room on your own.â
âI like to be efficient.â They told her as they moved to exit the room, looking behind her as they watched one of Theodoreâs men enter the hall, their gun raised as Y/N moved to push Nat to the side before shooting him themselves.
âWhat was.â Nat started before she turned to watch as Y/N fell to their knees, holding onto their stomach before she moved to them. âWe need a medevac now! Theodoreâs room, Y/Nâs been shot.â She spoke through her comms as she soon put pressure on their wound. âBe careful, theyâre using diamond tipped bullets!â She told them as she tried to keep pressure on their wound. âYouâre going to be okay.â She tried to reassure them, listening as the gunfire was starting to die down.
âNat!â Maria yelled as she ran through the hall towards them.
âItâs bad.â Nat told her, watching as Y/N was slipping out of consciousness. âReally bad.â
âItâs going to be okay.â Maria told her. âWe have a chopper ETA 5.â
âBut.â Nat tried again as Maria shook her head.
âTrust me, they have survived worse than this.â She reassured her. âWeâre going to get them to Dr Cho and you know yourself she is the best.â Nat nodded as she kept pressure on the wound.
âY/N?â She called out as she noticed their eyes closing. âY/N?â As she kept calling their name, more agents and medics had arrived, Maria moving her to allow them to do their work as they lifted Y/N onto the gurney.
âCome on.â Maria pulled Nat with her, heading straight towards their car and heading straight towards SHIELD HQ. âSince when do you care about them?â Maria questioned as she drove, Natâs eyes remained on her hands which were covered in Y/Nâs blood.
âI uh, weâre friends.â Nat told her honestly, diverting her gaze towards the road ahead as Maria sped through traffic. âBut they saved me.â
âWhat?â Maria questioned.
âThey uh, they pushed me out of the way.â She mumbled, her eyes going back to her hands. âI wasnât paying attention behind me, and Clint never warned us of any other assailants. He should have informed us, he was informing the rest of you. I heard him on comms.â
âWhat?â Maria questioned, her brow furrowed as she thought for a moment. âHe had the drone monitor. Do you think it was deliberate?â She questioned as Nat thought for a moment.
âHe wouldnât have been able to tell who was me or Y/N on the monitor.â Nat responded thoughtfully. âDo you think it was deliberate?â She questioned as Maria shrugged.
âI donât know, but I will find out when we get back to HQ.â She answered firmly, wanting to get to the bottom of it.

Hey sorry you are ill at the moment, you mentioned requests being open. So if I may
May a request an wanda one shot where both wanda and yn are crushing in each other but both too scared to admit. Pietro is yns friend and takes her out to crazy golf or something to unwind (nothing alcohol related please) . But maybe pietro causes trouble and they end up arrested. Which stresses yn out as she's never been arrested and is scared and paranoid.
Anyway she uses her call to call wanda (much to pietro's displeasure) and she storms in to get them out (def calming down yn and giving her a hug when she sees her in jail and after she gets her out) . (Wanda def makes sure any record of yn getting arrested is gone with her powers) .
Wanda being utterly pissed at pietro, maybe they argue in sokovian and maybe pietro says something (def about them being idiots who won't admit they like each other or something along the lines) and he speeds away and it ends with Wanda being the one to confess and ask yn out.
I know this might seem a bit much or too detailed but let me know what you think :)

You Have The Right To Remain Silent
(I feel like I might start writing Pietro a lot more now)

Post AoU (Female Reader X Wanda Maximoff)
Summary: Pietro takes you out and tries to get you to admit your feelings about Wanda. Simple, right? So why are you making a phone call from a county jail?
Word Count: 3.2K
Content: Pietro is a great friend/menace, Emo Wanda, Cuteness

To say Wanda Maximoff was mad would be THE understatement.
Not only was she mad, she was pissed, enraged, furious, embarrassed, she was- you get it. So, as Wanda grabs her red jacket and storms down to the Avenger's garage, she can't help but replay the most recent call with You repeatedly.
In fairness, you did only have one phone call, at least, according to the cop who arrested Wanda's brother and You.
But let's back it up a bit to this morning when all Pietro wanted to do was take you out. Have a bit of one-on-one hang-out time. You were, after all, his most recent best friend since moving to America and joining the Avengers.
"Y/n, come on, get up!" You were slowly but abruptly being shaken away by your silver-haired friend. You lift your tired arms and push him away. "No, I love sleep!" You cry out why, doing your best to keep your eyes shut, but within a flash, Pietro has lifted your window blinds, making the early morning sunshine right onto you.
Damn, Stark, for putting you in the east corner of the compound.
So, with a loud groan into your pillow, you blink open your eyes to see Pietro smugly smiling. "Hi!" He waved.
What a menace.
You closed your eyes and sighed loudly. But sure enough, about twenty minutes later, you were dressed comfortably in your favorite pair of jeans and a light hoodie. It was about halfway through autumn, so the choice was perfect for the season and for whatever outdoor activity Pietro wanted to drag you to.
As of late, he was known to pull something like this. About two weeks ago, it was Basketball. A month prior, it was Pickleball.
Etc etc.
And you weren't sure if it was meant to happen or not, but the conversations always seemed to steer back to fellow teammate Pietro's sister and your crush, Wanda Maximoff.
And not that Pietro knew. At least you didn't think so...
(He knew.)
Regardless, you stumbled into the Avenger's kitchen and- "Hey, Y/n!" You jolt your head up from the floor of the compound at the accented angelic voice of Wanda. She's standing by the stove making pancakes. She's dressed in her usual wear of black skirts and cardigans. Necklaces hanging from her. Wanda's nails have some of the black polish removed, and her fingers are still wearing rings. Some of the last things from first home...
Sokovia.
Wanda keeps her eyes on you as you smile to see her. Hoping your cheeks don't light up. "Hi, Wanda!" You finally manage to say. She loves the sound of your voice, too. Even when it's all wavered. "You heading out?" Wanda says as you walk further into the kitchen. Heading to the fridge because you're on autopilot.
You look down at your outfit of choice. "Uh yeah, Pietro wanted to do something." Wanda makes anah noise and turns back to the pancakes. "You like blueberries, right?"
Wanda knew you did.
"Yeah." You reply after retrieving a glass of orange juice, making Wanda nod and not so subtly begin making a blueberry pancake. You turned your head away at the feeling of the warmth in your cheeks and sat at the kitchen island.
You felt the need to say something to Wanda. Ask her how she slept. Or what she was doing today. Or if she watched any of the old sitcoms you used to watch after school. But nothing was firing in your brain as you watched her glide through the kitchen.
You were starting to wonder if she didn't have her abilities, what would Wanda do? Chef? Ballet? Actress?
Wanda laughed while flipping over your two pancakes onto a plate. The noise made you raise your eyebrows and look at her with an acute smile. "What's funny?" You asked, but Wanda shook her head. "Just thought about something." She meekly replied with her green eyes, making her red cheeks and freckles pop slightly more. "Here." She then said as she laid down the food in front of you. Her powers setting down the syrup next to you.
You smiled and felt your heart flutter. "You get first dibs." Wanda smiled back. "Wow... Wanda, this looks-"
"Ah, there you are!!" Pietro rushed into the kitchen, making the two of you startle, and dropped your silverware onto the plate. "Jesus!" You yell out while Wanda takes the dish towel next to her and throws it at her brother. "Stop doing that!" She yells, making Pietro roll his eyes. "But you always say that!" Wanda lets out a large sigh and glares at him before turning back to the stove to keep working on breakfast for the rest of the team.
Effectively ending your moment with Wanda.
You pick back up your fork and knife and begin to dig into your specially made pancakes while Pietro tries to apologize to his sister to get her to make him chocolate pancakes, but she refuses and then says: "Only Y/n gets the special treatment!"
You froze, but Pietro smirked and looked at Wanda before communicating with her in Sokovian. A language you wish you could understand. Maybe in time... However, what Pietro said ended up with her yelling something back while trying her best to hide her smile.
Pietro called her out, and thus, a chocolate pancake was laid in front of him minutes later. But leaving food around him doesn't last long, so as much as you wanted to talk to Wanda some more and be terrible at flirting, you were being whisked away for a day with Pietro.
Not before waving bye to Wanda.
"Axe throwing?" You asked Pietro as the two of you walked up to the building after a 30-minute drive. "Not just axe throwing!" You tilted your head and followed the speedster inside.
Pietro took you to the newest evolution in the craze. Inside was your typical kind of place for this activity, but instead of standard sections, this place also had a glow-in-the-dark area and a gamified version where you had to play/win specific challenges for tickets for prizes.
You looked at your friend and saw his smile on his face.
Sometimes, you remind yourself that this is still the same person who lost everything months ago. And here he is with a wide smile.
Also, how in the world did he find out they opened at 10 am was beyond you. It just didn't make sense... But it's a tale, so after ordering some water and snacks, the first axe hit the board.
"No, fair, you're super strong!" Pietro was already whining. You playfully rolled your eyes and grabbed your axe. "Yes, but that and my impenetrable skin don't make me super accurate. I'm not Hawkeye." You say with a little laugh. "Ah, right, the old man," Pietro replied, lifting the axe above his head. You smiled. "I'm so telling him you said that." You say as Pietro's axe lands slightly to the right of the bullseye.
Pietro retrieves it and laughs back before asking you about Natasha Romanoff, aka The Black Widow.
You tried your best to talk him out of asking her, but it didn't work. However, when he got knocked across the gym three weeks from now, you were there to say, "I told you so."
"Bullseye!" You cheered as your axe landed dead center. Pietro watched you walk to grab it with a smile before he did his best to shift the conversation to the real reason for today's adventure. "So Y/n..."
"So Pietro..." You said, copying his tone as he threw his axe. "You and my sister seemed to be getting along..." You tilted your head slightly. "Yeah... so?"
Pietro's axe landed a little below the target. Pietro looked at it before turning to you. "Pietro..." You said as the man stared at you. "Y/n, come on." Pietro grabbed his axe. "Just admit you like my sestra!"
"Pietro!" You raised your voice at his accurate assumption. "She likes you too!" He kept his voice level with yours. "You're too dumb or chicken to do anything about it!" You shook your head. "No. We're just friends!"
Yes, you had a crush on Wanda. Because, of course, you did, but when it came to admitting it to Pietro, you denied, denied, denied.
One, because you'd never hear the end of it.
Two, you didn't want to jeopardize anything between you and Wanda.
And three, could Wanda actually like you back??
"She made you special pancakes! You heard her. No one, but you gets them!" Pietro argues loudly, making one of the few other people in the establishment look over towards the two of you. "Pietro, shh." You say while gesturing with your head to the person, but Pietro isn't bothered by that. Too busy asking you about your crush. "That means something!"
"No, it means nothing." You argue back hoping this would be like any other time Pietro brought up this conversation and have it end reasonably quick. So, as you badly threw your axe at the wall, Pietro stood up.
"So if you think everything between you and my sestra means nothing then that must mean you don't like her."
You picked your axe from the floor. "What?" You replied, standing in the narrow space. "I didn't say that!" A customer looks over at you two. So does an employee. "So there is something?!" Pietro grins as he lets go of the axe right next to you, as you haven't gotten out of the way yet. "Pietro!" You scream even if the axe wouldn't have done anything to your body, thanks to your abilities.
An employee calls a manager over to them to watch you and Pietro.
"Just admit it: you like my sestra!" You huff, but before you can say anything else, he uses his super speed to grab the axe from the board and swing it back at you again. "Say it!" He calls out as it feels like you got a new haircut.
Luckily, nothing was trimmed.
"Yes, I like Wanda-" Pietro goes to interrupt you, but you cut him. "As a friend!" Pietro rolls his eyes and goes to use his powers again, but a man in a blue polo shirt stops him as Pietro raises his axe.
The two of you turn your eyes to the strangerâa manager.
"Hey! You are breaking some rules here and causing a disturbance. Why don't you two come with me!" Pietro looks at you and returns his eyes to the man with the name tag, 'Micheal.' "No, we're cool. It's okay."
You sigh, closing your eyes, knowing that's NOT what you're supposed to say. You move up.
"Hey. I'm sorry, my friend here is a little... much, but I-" You get cut off by the manager. "Doesn't matter what you're about to say. You two have been loud and reckless. Not to mention you're mutants." The man adds that last part in like you wouldn't heat him.
Pietro looks from you to the man. "Excuse me?"
"Pietro, let's just leave." You say, moving your eyes to Wanda's brother. But Pietro tightens his jaw. He brought you to this place to have fun and to finally have you admit that you are head over heels for Wanda. He also wants to spend time with his friend. He's tired of people telling him what to do or not do.
So, in a lapse of better judgment, Pietro uses his super speed and, thus leading to the two of you pinned to a cop car while Peitro wears Micheals's name tag as paramedics look over the man in the polo with a bloody nose. "I didn't push him that hard," Pietro comments, making you huff as a cop tightens the cuffs on the two of you.
"You both have the right to remain silent..." The mustache'd cop behind you starts going over your Miranda Rights as you close your eyes and let the world fall to a hum around you.
What the fuck were you going to tell Wanda...
The cell door at the sheriff's station closes behind you as you and Pietro walk inside. "I still think we could've gotten away. I'm super fast." You throw your arms up and let them fall against your side. "And then what Pietro? My car would still be at the place, and they'd track the registration to the compound. Could you imagine two cops knocking on the Avengers doors!?"
Pietro noticed your voice. You're frustrated and exhausted. Uneasy as your anxiety courses through you.
Pietro looks away.
The last time you were arrested was before you joined the Avengers... Those memories are seconds away from coming back.
After a few quiet moments, you take a seat on the cold bench next to your friend. Pietro hears the deep exhale come out of you. "I'm sorry." He calmly speaks up, making you look at him. "I shouldn't have engaged or acted out." You nod. "Why did you?" You ask. Pietro shrugs but looks at you. "I was more than okay leaving, but then he said... that word a-and it made me think back to Hydra. You know they weren't exactly known for being the nicest people..." He jokes with a slight smile but is still solum with his words. "Plus, I guess. I guess I really just wanted today to be the day." Pietro looks at you, and you know what he means.
"I do like her. A lot." You speak up. Pietro smiles. "Oh god, what are we going to tell her?" You say as you lean back against the grey wall.
"Tell her?" Pietro says, making you glance at him. "We can't do that." You widen your eyes. "Are you kidding me? That's exactly what we're going to do!" You say back.
"She'll kill me!" Pietro jokingly looks scared.
"Pietro, you're lucky I haven't killed you! Besides, we're calling Wanda. I'm not about to have Cap come down here and treat us like we're children. I am not about to have Natasha scold us and make our weekly gym sessions increase. I'm calling Wanda!"
Pietro knew this was the only option as everyone else was too busy or off-world. But he still argued and pleaded. But he relented when he saw you start to shake from your nerves.
Ten minutes later, you walked back into the cell, and an officer closed it behind you.
"I think she's mad." You said. Knowing his twin, Pietro knew that if you thought Wanda was mad. Gear up because she was past mad. Pietro sighed and stood up, needing to stretch his legs. "Did you tell her it was my fault like I asked?" You nodded. "But then Wanda asked me how come I was arrested as well. I froze. I told her I pushed the man back when he tried to push me but couldn't." Pietro laughed through his nose. "Your super strength and impenetrable skin will always amaze me."
"Yeah..." You sigh. "Too bad it won't make me Wanda like me again after this." Pietro watches you sit on the bench. "I'll talk to her," Pietro affirms you, but you don't know if you want him to talk to the witch or not. But before you can say anything, you hear muffled, loud yelling coming from outside the double doors down the hall. "How did she get here already?!" Pietro asks because it makes no sense. You shake your head and shrug before the doors down the hall open, and Wanda's black boots hit the white tile floor with force.
The officer with Wanda opens the cell door without a word to either of you. When you look at his eyes, you see how red they are.
Pietro looks to you and gulps.
"Sestra-" Wanda raises her hand to Pietro. "I don't want to hear it. Let's go." Wanda starts to walk away, and as much as you shouldn't, you do, in fact, look up and down her backside. Your crush on her and her demeanor towards you in this moment makes something click inside you. Fuck.
As the three of you exit into the station lobby, you realize that everyone in the building is under Wanda's control. You glance at a monitor and watch as a red-eyed officer deletes your and Pietro's files. You look back to Wanda, who pierces you with her green eyes. A smile wants to break out on her lips, but she remains stern as she gestures for you two to pick up your belongings at the front desk. You nod, and you and Pietro grab your thingsâone of them including your car keys for your impounded car.
"It's out front," Wanda speaks up before you send her a gracious smile. She sees it but doesn't return one as she leads the three of you outside. Her red car is parked next to your older vehicle.
"Pietro in the car," Wanda commands her brother, who does so without wanting to be under her power. As she stops in front of her driver's side door, Wanda looks to you. She opens it before closing it and walking over to you. Her green eyes looking at yours, getting softer by the second. She then surprises you with the most Wanda thing ever. She wraps her arms tightly around you and hugs you. "It's okay." She whispers to you as you feel yourself melt into the embrace. "Wanda, I'm sorry." You feel the need to say back, but Wanda shakes her head and pulls back. "Y/n, the only thing you need to be sorry for is your choice of friends." You can't help but laugh as you wipe the corner of your eye. The last thing you needed to do was cry.
Wanda moves her hands and fingers covered in rings up and down your arms to comfort you. "Pietros has already taken the blame again and again," Wanda says, confusing you until she points to her head. "Right." You nod. Wanda smiles. "A lot of yelling in Sokovian." Wanda drags her hands down and off of your arm. You already feel the loss of her touch, but look at her eyes as they find yours. "Do you think we could talk later? After we get back to the compound?" She asks, and you feel your throat grow tighter. "Not about this!" Wanda quickly corrects your thoughts as she points to the sheriff's office. "It's just Pietro called me an idiot, and it has something to do with you."
"With me?" You find yourself questioning even though you one hundred percent know what she's getting at it. Wanda nods as a shy blush appears on her face. Wanda looks back to the car before turning to look at you. She bites her lip. "I like you. A lot." Wanda confesses after a brief moment.
You can't help but smile wide.
You nod. "I like you a lot too, Wanda." Wanda feels her heart grow warm as she hears your words. "So yeah, we can talk later?" She says, making you chuckle. "I'll see you at the compound." You reply back.
Who would've thought that to get your crush, all you had to do was get arrested?

Pretend
Bambi!Wanda x Reader
Three kids, a successful nonprofit, a loving doe for a wife. It was all so amazing. But in truth it was all very tiring too.
You and Wanda encountered a few firsts recently. Your daughter Natalie switched to bottle feeding and began trying to say her first words. It was amazing. You and your wife couldnât be prouder or happier to say the least.
Your twin buck sons Billy and Tommy were enjoying kindergarten, alongside their best friend and wolf hybrid America who just joined their class. It was picturesque.
But you were missing special time with your doe. You missed, you yearned for the time you and her used to have together when you were younger. Not that you regret any of the amazing experiences parenthood had provided, but you wanted time with just your special doe. An idea formed in your mind and you approached your doe that evening with your amazing plan.
You approached your wife after dinner as she was cleaning the dishes. The boys were watching TV and your baby girl was dozing off in her little crib. It was all perfect.
You wrapped your arms around your mate and kissed her neck. She hummed in contentment.
âDetkaâ she moans.
âI want to have an affair. With you.â You quickly say.
Wanda giggles, âdetka weâre married. What are you getting at?â
âWe could get Natasha and Pietro to watch the kids,â you gently whisper in her ear. You begin caressing her thighs, sweetening the deal. âWe can use fake names, get a hotel room. Just the two of usâ
Your doe shutters at your touch. Her lips quiver at the mention of your plan.
âHow soon?â She giggles.
âFriday?â You kiss her behind the ear.
âFridayâ she responds with a blush. Your doe bites her lip as she goes back to her task. Her own mind finds itself racing with anticipation.
Friday had arrived. You got the reservation set and dropped the kids off with Natasha and Pietro. Your brother in law gave you a little wink as you turned to leave.
Wanda was already at the hotel. You made sure she had plenty of time to check in and get herself ready in however she wanted to. Honestly, the idea was so enticing and exciting for your bride. She even bought a couple little things for such an occasion. It made her giddy, a chance for the two of you to romance and woo one another.
You arrived at the hotel, a little swanky for your taste but Wanda really wanted to try it out. Turns out Friday night was a swanky event in the hotelâs restaurant, simply perfect timing.
You walked into the hotel in a nicely tailored suit, nothing too fancy but you knew your doe would love it.
You made your way thru the crowd trying to locate your bride as the jazz ensemble played softly.
And then you saw her. Wearing a red evening dress, makeup done, hair pinned up just right. Her antlers were shined up, gleaning like polished ivory. Her very mood portrayed that of a seductive fem-fatale from an old detective movie, your bride was just stunning. You almost couldnât move, you were that stunned by her.
You walk up to her, trying to keep a certain level of charm on your face, âI must say, red really is your color, maâamâ
âIâm sorry,â she playfully says with a smile, âhave we met?â
âIâm sure I would remember someone as beautiful as youâ you respond. âIs there someone youâre waiting on?â
âNo,â she stares at you seductively, âIâm here on my own accord, looking for some companyâ
âIf itâs alright, Iâd love to be some company for you,â you take the seat next to her.
âMost would be turned off by my antlers and tailâ she lounges in the chair, not taking her eyes off you for a second.
âI find them quite attractive.â
âI could say the same about you.â She says, her voice dripping with the slight Sokovian accent that you loved so much. âSo what brings you here tonight?â
âMaybe Iâm looking for some company. Or maybe Iâm here on assignmentâ you flirt with her.
âOh?â She purrs. âMaybe Iâm actually here to rob the rich donors scattered around hereâ
âInternational jewel thief? Funny Iâm here hunting oneâ you retort. This little dance of words was enticing.
âLetâs save the cat and mouse for laterâ she grabs two drinks off a nearby tray, âletâs enjoy the moment and companyâ
The two of you take a sip of your drinks, however, your eyes remain locked on each other.
The band begins to play a more lively tune. âCare to dance, miss jewel thief?â You ask.
âI was hoping youâd ask,â she purrs as she gets up and sways towards you. Taking her hand, you guide Wanda out to the open dance floor. Your hand snakes around her waist and pulls her close. She lets out a little gasp.
Her hand snakes around your shoulder as the two of you begin to sway to the music.
To the best of the song, Wanda gently grinds her hips against yours. She knew exactly how to get to you.
âSpot any of your targets?â You whisper in her ear
âI spot one.â She replies with a mischievous smile, âI think I may have to get this one aloneâ
âYour room or mine?â
âHmmâŚI donât think your agency would cover a room here. Besides I want you all to myselfâ she guides her nails gently down your arm, the sensation was indescribable.
âIâll cover the room serviceâ you respond, earning a giggle from your mate.
She gently pulls you towards the exit of the lounge area. You follow her into the elevator and all the way up to your hotel room.
About an hour or so later, you and Wanda found yourselves lounging on the singular bed in your comfy set of PJs, the TV was playing a favorite movie of yours.
You had made love a couple times already and enjoyed each otherâs company. She was the only company you ever wanted.
âIâm so glad we did thisâ your wife giggles.
âOh Iâm not letting you out of my sight,â you flirt with her, âcanât have you stealing some rich snobâs jewels.â
âYou shouldâve brought your handcuffs thenâ she gives you a wink.
The door knocked as you and Wanda got up, âroom serviceâ a voice called out.
You gladly answered and got your order of Chinese take out. Wanda really loved the fried rice and broccoli. The two of you took enjoying your evening with each other, just laughing and feeling like young mates again.
And then Wandaâs phone rang with a text from your pal Tony. The text read as followed: Wanda, whyâd you take my watch off of me? Are you and Y/N coming back to the party?
You looked at the text and then at your mate. You had completely forgotten Tony was there too.
âWanda?!â You asked with a little chuckle.
âI needed a reason for you to chase me?â She says with a little shrug.
Your mate, your doe, the love of your life. What would you ever do without her?

you said iâm the love of your life
about a million times
âwhat?â
âi- iâm not coming back.â
the busy atmosphere of the coffee shop suddenly dissipated. it was as if someone turned on noise cancelling headphones. you had to set down your cup in fear of gripping it too hard. the last thing you needed was a shattered coffee cup.
you take a deep breath. âwhat do you mean youâre not coming back?â
âthe life i shared with you was beautiful. what i did to help the world was honorable. but i canât help but think of the life i couldâve had.â he spoke, trying to hold your hand.
âyou told me i was the love of your life.â
he stayed silent. He had so much time to think this through, yet his entire plan flew out the window. steve couldnât look you in the eyes, instead he stared just beyond your ear.

at dinner, you take my ring off my middle finger
and put it on the one people put wedding rings on
and that's the closest iâve come to my heart exploding
you and steve sat at the table with his friends. they were great, really. youâd been in some relationships where your boyfriends friends straight up hated you and made it known. but with steveâs friends it was different.
it also helped that you had a mutual friend, sam. sam was your best friend, he had been since you both moved to dc around the same time. the two of you were more like family, actually, so when sam introduced you and steve you knew you could trust him.
well, he was captain america though so of course you could trust him. the three of you spent a lot of time together before you and steve decided to start dating. when steve and sam wanted to invite you to meet natasha and bucky you were excitedly nervous, but steve had told you all about them before hand to ease your nerves.
natasha asked you questions about your life and sam genuinely seemed interested in what you had to say. you were in the middle of a conversation with bucky when you felt steve fidgeting with your rings. he took your ring off your middle finger and slipped it onto your ring finger and left it there.Â
you looked up at him and smiled. youâd never felt your heart beat so fast, like it was about to explode. the thought of being with him forever was everything youâve ever wanted.
bucky looked away from you for a moment, focusing on steveâs hands switching the ring. he moved his gaze to his best friend, silently asking if he was serious. steve just smiled and laughed, ignoring him.
-
you talked me under the table
talking rings and talking cradles
i wish i could un-recall
how we almost had it all
âso whatâs next?â you asked, sitting up against the headboard in your shared bed.
steve walked out of the bathroom after brushing his teeth. he sighed, pulling on a shirt. he had just gotten home from talking with natasha about the sokovian accords.
âweâre on different sides.â he spoke bluntly.
it was clear he didnât want to speak about the subject any further, so you didnât push. instead you hum in response and set your book to the side.
you helped him as he slid under the covers next to you. he took your hand and laced his fingers in between yours, holding you close.
âsometimes i think about leaving. taking you with me somewhere no one can find us.â steve closed his eyes, squeezing your hand tightly. âwe could settle down. get married and have kids. be something other than captain america.â
you wanted this. god you wished this could happen, but you knew deep down he would never leave captain america behind. you just wished heâd see that he could be both here.
âweâd have three kids, two daughters and a son.â you smiled just thinking of what could be. âweâd name one after your mom and our sonâs middle name would be james.â
steve chuckled as he wrapped his other arm around you. âwe could get a dog and name him something basic like spot or teddy.â
âsounds perfect.â you laid your head on his shoulder for comfort. âi would support you no matter what. iâd go anywhere with you.â
he kissed the top of your head. âiâll never leave you.â
you both stayed like this for a while. perfectly content laying in each other's arms. with the state of the avengers crumbling you knew youâd have less and less of these moments so you had to take advantage of every last one.
iâm combing through the braids of lies
âiâll never leaveâ
ânevermindâ
-
and whoâs gonna hold you like me?
whoâs gonna know you?
âtell me again.â you demanded, your voice terrifyingly calm.
âafter the funeral, iâm going back to put the stones in their correct timelines. but iâm going back to peggy. iâm sorry.â steve leaned back in his chair, he could feel a migraine coming on.
you blinked. thereâs no fucking way that whoâs was actually happening, you thought. after years spent being together how could he just leave you? like you meant absolutely nothing to him.
âwhen did you decide to do this?â you questioned.
âwhen we went back to 2012. i realized it would work.â he started to explain.
you instinctively run a hand through your hair. it was a coping mechanism. you mindlessly braid and tangle your hair as you get lost in your thoughts.
steve kept talking but you couldnât hear him. your mind was too full. your senses went into overdrive. all you could focus on was the sound of the espresso machine whirring in the background. the clinking of the cups. the chattering of other coffee shop patrons. the brightness of the sun shining into the building.Â
how could the sun be shining right now? you wished it was raining to reflect on how you were feeling. you were having the worst conversation of your life and all you could think about was how happy it looked outside.
you snapped back into the conversation when you heard him say something about how your relationship had stalled during the blip.
you interrupted him. âabsolutely not. you pushed me away but i still stayed. i told you i would stay by your side no matter what and i did. do not blame this on me.â
âiâm sorry i have to go.â steve repeated.
you watched as the man stood up from the table and left you there to your thoughts. it felt like everyone was staring at you, like they heard your conversation. but the reality was, no one paid any mind to you, instead they were all catching up with their loved ones as yours left you in the coffee shop.
-
but youâre in self-sabotage mode
throwing spikes down on the roadÂ
the funeral was beautiful but unsettling. normally youâd be standing next to steve but instead opted to stand with peter parker and his aunt. you hadnât seen him since he left you and you hadnât told anyone what happened. you felt like at any moment you might breakdown.
thankfully you were at a funeral and could blame your emotions on tony, although that seems disrespectful. after the service, you briskly walked to your car, trying to avoid any confrontation. obviously, knowing your friends, sam had cornered you before you could even get past the house.
âwhatâs gotten into you? whyâd you stand with parker?â your best friend asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
âsam, i need to go. iâll talk to you later.â you whispered, trying to push past him.
thereâs no way you thought that would work, but still you tried.Â
âwhat happened?â he lowered his voice.
you knew you were going to have to tell him at some point, or you were sure steve wouldâve told him his plan.
âhe didnât tell you? youâre his best friend and he didnât tell you he was leaving all of us to go back to her?âÂ
sam looked at you, shocked. no, steve didnât tell him. you glanced over your shoulder at steve talking to bucky, the former had a stern expression on his face.
âlooks like heâs telling bucky right now.â you said, shrugging your shoulders.
sam wrapped his arms around you tightly. he whispered his thoughts to you as you tried not to cry.Â
âitâs all my fault. i introduced you to him, he never wouldâve hurt you.â he apologized, but you stopped him.
you broke away from the hug and looked him in the eyes. âno, you donât get to blame yourself. no one couldâve seen this coming. youâre my best friend, and that will never change.â
he let out a sigh of relief. you notice his eyes flicker from you to the two men far behind you. you turn to look behind you to see steve gesturing for sam to follow him.
âgo, itâs fine. iâm going home.â you said, smoothing your outfit down.
âcome with me. i know you donât want to talk to him, so you donât have to. just come with to let me say goodbye and then we can stay in and order take out, ok?â sam asked, well pleaded.
sam held out his hand for you to take. you hesitantly took it, the two of you walking toward bucky and steve. you stopped walking when you neared the group.
âiâm gonna wait here, ok? just let me know when youâre done.â you smiled weakly, taking a seat on a bench facing the water.
you tried to ignore what was happening behind you, but it was difficult. you wondered what was going on inside his head right now. was he thinking about the way he was going to find her? his future life with her?
âhow long is this gonna take?â you heard sam ask bruce.
âfor him, as long as he needs. for us, about five seconds.â bruce responded.
you held your breath. this was actually happening. he was leaving. some small part of you agreed to staying because you thought he wouldnât do it. thereâs no way.Â
âgoing quantum. in three, two, one.â you heard banner countdown.
and just like that, he was gone.
-
oh, what a valiant roar
what a bland goodbye
you closed your eyes and pulled your knees to your chest. you knew if you opened your eyes youâd start to cry. but you refuse to cry over someone who left you to start over with someone else.
you sniffled softly, listening to the sound of the lake. you loved the way the water smelled. the wind blowing swiftly through your hair.Â
âitâs beautiful out here isnât it.â you heard a voice say.
you opened your eyes suddenly and looked around, spotting someone who wasnât there before.
âsteve?â you questioned.
this wasnât the same man you once loved. this was a man whoâd lived a full life. he was older, his hair white, his eyes content.
âwhat are you doing here? i thought you left.â
he turned his body towards you. âi did. i lived a long life with peggy. i wanted to grow old with someone, and i have.â
you teared up again. itâs obvious he looked happy and you were torn on how to feel once more.Â
âiâm sorry i couldn't love you enough.â he mumbled, running a hand over his face.
you stood up from the bench and turned your back to him. âi loved you. i cherished you. i risked my life time and time again just for you. you knew more about me than my best friend and i regret that. i wanted to get married and have children with you so i waited until you were ready. well now i know you were ready, you just didnât want it all with me. iâm sorry steve, but i dont think i could ever forgive you.â
âiâm sorry.â he whispered, reaching for your hand.
you turned around to take one last look at him. you memorized every new detail about him. this was the closure you needed to try to forget him.Â
finally, you walked away. you left sam with bucky, letting him say his final goodbyes to steve. your dress swayed in the wind as you briskly walk to samâs car. you felt awful ignoring the calls from your friends but you knew you needed to be alone for just a minute to reflect.
you got into his car, shut the door, and finally let the tears flow.
and iâll still see it until i die
youâre the loss of my life

Tiger-Lilly
Summary: youâre staying with your auntie Yelena while Natasha is on the run after the events of the sokovian accords, you havenât heard from her in 5 weeks, where could she be?
Word Count: 1.6k
Pairings: (Auntie!Yelena x Niece!Reader) (Mom!Natasha x Daughter!Reader)
Warnings/Content: Civil war events but following an au timeline / sad reader / happy ending
ââââ
A few months ago, Natasha left home. After the events of the sokovian accords, she had to go into hiding until it was safe for her to return, it was the hardest decision sheâd ever had to make. Leaving her friends behind after watching them fall apart broke her heart but nothing couldâve prepared her for the devastation of leaving her daughter behind, leaving you behind. Two weeks after escaping the red room with Yelena, Natasha found out she was pregnant. The sisters had managed to make it out before the graduation ceremony. If the ex widows hadnât met the team and joined S.H.I.E.L.D you wouldnât be here, they saved all three of you. Growing up in the compound was the greatest gift of your life, you loved all your family, but your mommy was by far your favourite.
Yelena decided not to become an avenger but became an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and soon reached the highest rank of all the agents. Because of that, your auntie wasnât involved in the downfall of the superheroâs so Natasha decided it would be safe to leave you with Yelena. The accords didnât intertwine with S.H.I.E.L.D so Natasha trusted her sister and Nick to keep you safe and prayed that no government agents would come after you. It was hard to explain to a 4 year old that her mommy had to go into hiding, especially to a child as close to their mother as you were to Natasha. Your mom held you tight as she said goodbye, explaining that this wouldnât be forever and that she had to do this. You cried yourself to sleep the night Natasha left and it was the longest journey of your momâs life.
Today marked three months since Nat left and you were having a difficult day. It was fun staying at auntie Yelenaâs house and under different circumstances you wouldâve been having a blast, but not knowing where your mommy was or when you would see her again weighed heavily on your mind everyday. It was Yelenaâs day off and she had tried everything to get you to smile, even just for a moment. You were currently sat on your bed, your auntie reading you a story. âWhy donât you take a turn at reading tiger-Lilly?â Yelena asked. âNoâ you whined as you crawled under the covers. All of your family called you tiger-Lilly, it came from your middle name Lilly and your favourite animal being a tiger. You loved all kinds of cats, Lions, Panthers, Leopards, Jaguars, Cheetahs and domestic cats but your favourite of all was the tiger.
You cuddled up with your tigger stuffy under the duvets (obviously tigger was your favourite character, he was a tiger after all.) Yelena huffed quietly under her breath, not wanting you to know that she was struggling too. Natasha sent letters when she could, each time she moved location to avoid being tracked. The last letter had been delivered over 5 weeks ago and Yelena was going out of her mind with worry. She pushed her feelings to one side and gently stamped her feet across the floor âdid you hear that?â She asked, feigning her anxiety. Yelena rose to her feet and used her hands to pad across the mattress âuh oh!â She cried âI think itâs the tickle monster tiger-Lilly!â your auntie yelled as she began to tickle you above the sheets.
You popped your head out from the covers and shuffled away from Yelena âstop it!â You yelled, pushing her away. âI donât want you I want mommy!â You cried. Yelena froze in her place, surprised by your outburst. âGo away I donât want you!â You screamed, tears streaming down your face. âIâm sorry sweetieâ Yelena said as she sat down beside you unsure what to do. âGo away!â You sobbed once more, pushing against your aunties frame. Yelena sat helplessly and watched you cry. She took a step back when you cried out loudly, kicking your little feet against the mattress. âIâll be outsideâ Yelena stuttered as she walked towards your bedroom door, giving you the space she figured you needed.
You continued to cry in your aunties absence, twisting and pulling at your duvet covers. Outside, Yelena slowly slipped down the door muffling her own sobs behind her fists. âMommyâ you cried out into the empty room, breaking Yelenas heart even more. Yelena wanted so desperately to run in and scoop you up in her arms, but she knew you needed to let everything out. It was when you began coughing roughly that your auntie knew she had to go back into your room. âY/n?â She softly called as she pushed open the door âdeep breaths sweetie, here take some sips of your waterâ she said as she passed you your water bottle.
You gulped down the water, trying to rid the ache in your throat. âEasy sweetheart, small sips okayâ Yelena said and you eased up. When the water was all gone, you followed your aunties breathing, bringing yours back to a steady rhythm. âIâm sorryâ you whispered, looking up at Yelena through teary eyes. âItâs okay tiger-Lilly, I know you just miss mommy, but next time you get overwhelmed you come and tell me alrightâ Yelena said, you nodded shyly, feeling guilty for your outburst. âHeyâ Yelena said as she lifted your chin up âitâs ok, itâs all ok no oneâs angry with you, Iâm not angry with youâ she said.
You and Yelena cuddled up again until you finally fell asleep, peacefully snoring against your aunties frame. When she was sure you were deeply asleep, Yelena slid out from underneath you and made her way downstairs. It was late but the blonde had no intention of sleeping anytime soon. The hours raced by as Yelena sat at the kitchen island with her warm coffee. Silence filled her house and Yelena basked in the comfort of it. The silence was interrupted by a soft click from the front door. Anyone else wouldâve dismissed it, but being a spy, Yelena perched up at the sound.
Peering over her shoulder, Yelena looked directly at the door, eyes glued on the handle that was now shaking. Quickly, she made her way around the kitchen and switched off the overhead light. The agent shuffled along the wall towards a small cupboard, opening it slowly and reaching underneath to peel away a gun taped along the top. The door was pushed open and soft footsteps fell across the tiled floor. Yelena prepared herself for a fight, she was exhausted but you were just upstairs and there was no way she was going to let you get hurt. Placing her gun in front of her with outstretched arms, Yelena listened closely at the footsteps came up beside her. A shadow rounded the corner, mirroring Yelenaâs position with a gun before them. The blonde froze when she locked eyes with the body behind the weapon.
You shifted gently as you began to wake up, your throat dry due to your earlier meltdown. You reached for your water bottle, frowning slightly when you remembered that it was empty. Pulling the covers away slowly, you shuffled down off your bed, setting out on a mission to find your auntie. You figured she had gone to bed in her own room so that was where you went first. Finding the bedroom empty you thought carefully about where she could be. You heard a quite whisper from downstairs and slowly made your way down towards the kitchen.
Waddling slowly, you rubbed your eyes roughly as you entered the kitchen âauntie Yelâ you said holding out your water bottle. You were confused when she didnât reply, blinking your eyes a few times adjusting to the light of the room. You looked over to the kitchen island and paused in your movements when you saw not one person, but two. Your eyes began to water as you looked at the second figure âmamaâ you whispered. âMy babyâ Natasha exclaimed as she ran towards you, kneeling down to your level and wrapping you up in the softness of her arms.
You sobbed so loudly at the relief of finally having your mom back, you gripped onto her so tightly, afraid she would disappear again. âMommyâ you cried into her shoulder âIâm here baby, mommyâs home nowâ Natasha said as she lifted you both up from the floor. Yelena smiled at the sight of the two of you back together again and excused herself so that you could be alone. Natasha was swaying softly with you in her arms, not planning to let you go anytime soon. âOh my tiger-Lilly, Iâve missed you so much, Iâm so sorry I had to leave youâ she cried.
You pulled yourself impossibly closer to your mom, her voice soothing you. âI missed you more mommy you sobbed, gulping in your breaths. She didnât want too, but Natasha set you back down on the floor, resting eye level with you. âHey, hey, deep breaths sweetie, Iâm hereâ she said as she brushed her hands through your hair. You copied your momâs breathing, finding a gentle rhythm once again. Natasha lent forward to place a soft kiss on your forehead âlook at youâ she said as she held your face in her hands âyouâve gotten so big!â She smiled. âY/n I promise you Iâll never leave you ever again. Being away from you was the hardest thing Iâve ever had to do, I love you so much baby girlâ Natasha said. âI love you too mommyâ you smiled through your teary eyes, launching forwards into Natashaâs awaiting arms.

MCU Timeline. Captain America: Civil War
Second half of 1936/First half of 1937 - death of Sarah Rogers, mother of Steven Rogers.
Early 1970s - January 2016 - Thaddeus Ross serves in the US Army.
Why January: The first episode of WHIH Newsfront for CW (where his retirement is mentioned) contains a reference to the Miami Marathon, which in the real world takes place in January.
~December 15, 1991 - Hydra awakens the Winter Soldier from cryosleep.
December 16, 1991:
Tony comes home from university in another country for the Christmas break.
Evening - Howard and Maria say goodbye to Tony and leave for the Bahamas for Christmas.
7:00 pm - the Winter Soldier kills Howard and Maria Stark and steals Howard's super-soldier serum.
Late December 1991 - Hydra uses these 5 bags of serum to create new Winter Soldiers from Hydra's best operatives.
Since 2008 - "the number of known enhanced persons has grown exponentially. The number of potentially world-ending events has risen at a commensurate rate".
Because the MCU was created. We know, Vision.
2011 - General Ross suffers a heart attack and undergoes 13 hours of surgery and a triple bypass.
May 2014 - May 2016 - Rogers and Wilson look for Barnes.
April 12th or 19th, 2015:
The Battle of Sokovia.
Death of Charlie Spencer.
The death of the family of Sokovian Colonel Helmut Zemo.
Note: Tony, as usual, is bad at dates. Could it be summer? Of course not. See the Age of Ultron timeline. To be fair to Tony, summer makes sense in the context of a recent graduate. That's why this whole Charlie story is poorly done and it's the filmmakers' fault for not coordinating with the previous films again.
April 14th or 21th, 2015 - Helmut Zemo finally finds the bodies of his family on the outskirts of the destroyed Sokovian capital.
April 2015 - Late April 2016 - Helmut Zemo plans his revenge, studies the Avengers, and deciphers the S.H.I.E.L.D. data released by Natasha. He learns of the existence of the December 16, 1991 mission report.
Late September 2015 - March 21, 2016 - The Avengers track down Crossbones (Brock Rumlow).
Second half of October 2015 - Peter Parker becomes Spider-Man.
October 2015 - May 2016:
Tony watches Spider-Man.
He finds out that it is Peter Parker.
Tony creates a high-tech suit and AI for Peter.
End of January 2016 - President Ellis appoints Thaddeus Ross as Secretary of State.
January-March 2016 - The Ellis administration is working on the Sokovia Accords.
January-May 2016 - the media focus is on whether superheroes should be held accountable for collateral damage and whether they should operate under international oversight.
Source: WHIH Newsfront.
The main events of the film take place from the end of March to the beginning of June 2016.
March 2016 - Crossbones robs police stations in Nigeria.
March 21, 2016:
The Attack in Lagos. Brock Rumlow dies while attempting to blow himself and Rogers up. Wanda redirects the blast but fails to contain it, and the explosion kills 26 people in a nearby building, including 11 Wakandans.
F*ck up time: it's probably the Saturday before March 22nd. The problem is that in our world, March 22nd 2016 was a Tuesday, not a Sunday. So it's either March 21st (according to the newspaper), or March 19th (according to the real calendar and all other movies except IM1, which also had a broken calendar), or literally any other day, because see the note for May 3rd further down the timeline. I'll choose March 21 because the days of the week in this movie are just a filmmakers' f*ck up and "Saturday" and "Sunday March 22" were supposed to tell us the date.
Applause: The big brains of the MCU Fandom Wiki dated the attack to May 3rd, referring to a WHIH News video that doesn't mention any dates. Instead, they used the date the video was posted on YouTube.
The Ellis administration is presenting the Accords to the UN.
April 2016:
Tony establishes the September Foundation Grant with Pepper as its head.
Tony and Pepper take a break from their relationship.
Pepper cancels her scheduled appearance at MIT without notifying the institution.
Tony speaks at MIT, demonstrates BARF technology, and makes all students co-recipients of the September Foundation Grant, automatically approving and funding all their projects.
He meets the mother of Charlie Spencer, who was a collateral casualty of the Battle of Sokovia.
April 28:
Secretary Ross comes to the Avengers Compound to present the Sokovia Accords to the team.
Peggy Carter dies.
Steve Rogers goes to the UK.
Zemo breaks into the home of Vasily Karpov, a former KGB/Hydra officer hiding in Cleveland. He finds the Winter Soldier's code book and kills Karpov.
May 1:
Morning - Peggy's funeral in London. Steve learns that Sharon is Peggy's niece.
Natasha is in London to support Rogers. He refuses to sign the Accords. Natasha flies to Vienna by jet.
Afternoon - special UN conference on the ratification of the Sokovia Accords in Vienna. Natasha meets T'Challa.
The Vienna Bombing - Helmut Zemo, disguised as Bucky Barnes, blows up the UN meeting. Over 70 people are injured and at least 12 are killed, including T'Chaka, the King of Wakanda.
Steve, Sam and Sharon learn of the explosion and that Barnes is a suspect. They immediately head to Vienna.
T'Challa decides to kill Barnes himself.
Natasha asks Rogers not to intervene. He refuses.
Sharon gives him Barnes' presumed location.
May 2:
Morning - Zemo practices Russian pronunciation in a hotel in Berlin. He created an EMP device that he keeps in his room.
Barnes is spotted at a market in Bucharest and learns that he is a suspect in the Vienna bombing.
Noon - Rogers comes to his apartment. GSG 9 storms it when Barnes comes to pick up his backpack.
Rogers, Wilson and Barnes fight GSG 9, the police and T'Challa until they are surrounded by the police and Colonel Rhodes.
The trio and T'Challa are arrested and taken to the Joint Terrorist Task Force headquarters in Berlin.
The JTTF calls in a psychiatrist to assess Barnes. The UN dispatches Dr. Theo Broussard from Geneva within the hour.
Vision attempts to make paprikash for Wanda. She learns that she is under "house arrest" to reduce the risk of another public incident.
Evening - in Berlin, Dr. Broussard is met by Helmut Zemo. Zemo takes the doctor to his hotel room.
May 3:
Morning - Zemo kills Broussard and leaves his body in the hotel bathroom.
~8 am - the convoy with the four arrested reaches JTTF headquarters in Berlin. There, they meet Tony and Natasha, who are on duty. Thanks to Tony's efforts, Rogers, Wilson, and T'Challa are given an office instead of a cell, and Rogers and Wilson escape Ross's prosecution, but the shield and wings are confiscated by the JTTF.
Rhodey is supervising cleanup in Romania.
Tony tries to persuade Rogers to sign the Accords. Rogers refuses.
A delivery van carrying the Zemo's EMP device arrives at a local power substation.
Zemo, posing as Dr. Broussard, begins a "psychological evaluation" of Barnes.
Note: the clock at HQ shows us the wrong time in Berlin. Since Zemo flies to Moscow at 2:10 pm later that day, it can't be 5 pm, but only before noon.
Zemo triggers the EMP and shuts down the power at JTTF headquarters. He reads the codes to Barnes, switching him into the Winter Soldier mode. Winter Soldier tells him where to find the video recording of the December 16, 1991 mission.
10 minutes later - the Winter Soldier goes on a rampage at the HQ.
Zemo escapes.
Tony disarms Barnes. He, Nat, Sharon, and T'Challa try to stop him, but he escapes to the helipad, where he is stopped by Rogers and taken to an abandoned building.
~11 am - Secretary Ross arrives at JTTF headquarters and gives Tony and Nat an ultimatum: deliver Rogers, Wilson, and Barnes within 36 hours or he will send Special Forces after them.
Natasha recruits T'Challa. Tony goes to New York to pick up Peter Parker.
2:10 pm - Zemo departs for Moscow.
Barnes wakes up back in his Bucky mode and tells Steve and Sam about the other Winter Soldiers.
Rogers and Wilson call Barton.
~5 pm in NYC/11 pm in Germany - Tony meets May and Peter Parker. He makes Peter his intern and asks him to go to Germany with him.
Tony makes Peter a passport.

Source: alternative credits for SM:FFH.
F*ck up time: since this passport is from a different movie, its calendar is different from CW's. According to that Nigerian newspaper at the beginning of CW, May 3rd was supposed to be a Sunday, which can't be true since Peter had a test at school that day. According to SMH, May 3rd was supposed to be a Friday, which makes sense for CW because Peter was talking about homework, not going to school, when Tony asked him to go to Germany. Either way, neither the CW's calendar nor our real-life calendar work, and I guess I'll have to make a fix-it MCU calendar someday.
Happy accompanies Peter to Germany on Tony's private jet.
~9 pm in NY - Clint comes to the Compound to pick up Wanda. Vision tries to stop him, but is defeated by Wanda, who makes a hole in the building with his body.
They go to San Francisco to pick up Scott Lang.
May 4:
Morning in Germany/Afternoon in Yakutia - Zemo reaches Oymyakon, the nearest settlement to the Siberian Hydra base, and calls his host in Berlin.
The host finds Dr. Broussard's body in Zemo's hotel room.
Sharon Carter returns to Rogers and Wilson their gear that she stole from the JTTF.
Rogers kisses her.
Barton brings Wanda and Scott to Rogers and Co.
Tony evacuates Leipzig/Halle airport, where a helicopter rented by Barton is waiting for Cap's team.
~11 am - the Battle at Leipzig-Halle Airport.
Tony suffers an injury to his left arm.
Rogers and Barnes, with Natasha's help, steal a quinjet and head to Siberia.
Rhodey is caught in friendly fire and left paralyzed from the waist down.
Tony sends Peter home.
Wilson, Lang, Barton and Maximoff are arrested and sent to Raft Prison.
T'Challa tells Ross that Natasha helped Rogers and Barnes escape.
Tony, Vision and Natasha go to the hospital with Rhodey.
~1 pm - Tony tells Natasha that Ross is coming for her, and she goes on the run.
FRIDAY gives Tony news from the Berlin police - the real Dr. Broussard is found dead.
Tony immediately heads to the Raft in a helicopter. FRIDAY gives him all the information about Zemo and the situation. Tony sends it to Ross.
~7 pm - Tony arrives at the Raft. Secretary Ross refuses to listen to him about Zemo.
Tony asks Sam where Rogers and Barnes went. He tells Ross that he is going back to the Compound and will not pick up the phone if Ross calls. In reality, he is heading to the Hydra bunker to help Rogers and Barnes.
T'Challa secretly follows him.
May 5:
~5 am in Oymyakon/9 pm in Germany (May 4) - Zemo takes a tracked all-terrain vehicle and uses it to get to the Hydra bunker. He finds the video from December 16, 1991 and kills all 5 Winter Soldiers in the bunker.
~8 am - Rogers, Barnes, Tony and T'Challa arrive.
Zemo shows Tony the video of Barnes murdering his parents. Rogers admits that he knew about it and didn't tell Tony.
Tony flies into a rage and attacks Barnes. As a result of the fight Tony vs Rogers and Barnes, Tony is defeated and left alone in the bunker with a disabled suit and the shield.
Zemo attempts to commit suicide, but is stopped by T'Challa.
T'Challa brings Rogers and Barnes to Wakanda, Zemo to the JTTF.
Rhodes is transferred to Columbia Medical Center in NYC.
~May 5:
Tony gets back to the States.
Note: it is not mentioned how or when this happened. He couldn't stay in the bunker for long because he would die from hypothermia. Someone had to come for him that same day. This doesn't necessarily mean that he was brought back to the States right away.
~May 6 - Barnes goes back to cryo in Wakanda.
Why so soon: Barnes and Rogers still have bruises from their fight with Tony. They're supersoldiers, and that kind of damage won't last long. So a couple of days, tops. What Steve says to T'Challa also suggests it hasn't been more than a few days since he took them in to Wakanda.
May:
Tony is recovering from injuries.
He has to take command of the Avengers, which now consists only of him, the paralyzed Rhodes and Vision.
Tony makes Rhodey braces so he can walk again.
Tony repairs the hole Wanda left in the Compound.
Someone watches Tony and reports to Rogers.
Early June:
Tony comes to the empty Avengers Compound.
Note: He has a stress ball in his left hand, and in the letter scene, this hand is shaking. This means he hasn't recovered from his injuries a month later, and it was much worse right after the fight.
He brings Rhodey the braces and helps him get back on his feet.
Stan Lee delivers Tony a letter and flip phone from Rogers.
Note: judging by his words in the letter, Tony is now living in the Compound, and Pepper has not yet returned to him.
F*ck up time: the bruises and scratches on Tony and Sam's faces were supposed to tell us that this is taking place a few days after the airport and bunker fights. And it makes no sense. 1) Black Widow gives us a clear idea of ââhow much time has passed between the airport and the escape - at least 3 weeks. More realistically 4 (which matches the book with the Official Timeline, btw). 2) Rhodey needed time to recover before he could be released from the hospital. Not even talking about getting up. A month is the bare minimum (it should have been longer, he had a broken spine). 3) That was enough time for Tony to heal and move to the Compound. Then enough time for someone to tell Rogers, then for Rogers to come up with his letter and send it. All in all, we're getting a month, not a few days. By the way, this makeup fuck-up wasn't introduced in CW, but already happened in AoU with Thor.
Rogers and Romanoff arrange an escape from the Raft for the other Rogues.
Secretary Ross calls Tony to go to the Raft and stop the escape. Tony refuses.
The timeline was mostly fine until the very end. And then I saw the date on the FedEx box and put a palm to my face. Because it can't be April 14th or April in general. 1) We've already passed May 3rd with Peter's passport. 2) The earliest date the main events could start is April 1st. Then we had a week of action. Then a month of Black Widow. Guess what month it is now. Hint: it's not April anymore. 3) The weather, green trees, etc. indicate that the main events did not occur before the end of April. 4) The official timeline places the escape from the Raft in the summer. And they're right about that (see the first 3 points).

It has been ten years since the brutal attacks by the rogue AI Ultron that plagued the world, and we at the Daily Bugle believed a retrospective was in order, a look back at what we assumed was the worst event ever in human history. And at the time, it was.
Though the Avengers swooped in and saved the day, 177 civilians were killed and $474 billion in damage was caused to the Sokovian capital. regular people lost their homes and livelihoods, and many of the remaining survivors died of injuries or the rampant disease in refugee camps from Ukraine to Hungary. Furthermore, beyond an initial donation from Tony Stark and the US government, no great effort has been made to rebuild the Sokovian capital beyond dumping money into the hands of the government and leaving them to it.
This has caused a new corrupt Sokovian government to hoard the donation money and leave its people in shambles, even ten years on many Sokovians still live in tents or makeshift homes in the crater that used to be Novi Grad. The death rate is high, children are uneducated, many having to dig through the still piled high ruins for salvageable materials to sell and provide for their families. So far, no major world governments besides the ones directly bordering Sokovia have made an effort to provide needed aid and support.
Does this mean we want someone like Tony Stark to provide aid to Sokovia? In my opinion, no. He, his daughter Serena Stark-Potts and Bruce Banner, the infamous Hulk, were the ones who unleashed Ultron on the world in the first place, and the people of Sokovia do not want him anywhere near their country again. A better solution would be more direct support from the United Nations to the people of Sokovia and not their government, who have so far misused their power and made Sokovia the poorest European nation as of today and in the top 20 poorest countries in the world.
So what do the people of Sokovia think? We sent an intern on a trip and he came back 2 weeks later than expected, since his transfer flight through Amsterdam was delayed, but we finally got our reports:
"We have nothing left, the destruction of our home left us in a refugee camp and we still haven't been allowed back into Sokovia. My youngest can't remember his homeland, he only knows the tents." - Anya, 35, mother of 2, currently lives in a Romanian refugee camp "I lost my whole family in the fight. When do they get their justice?" - Helmut, 47, ex-baron, currently incarcerated "I was only a child and lost both my parents. Me and my brother were stuck under the rubble waiting. No one came for five days" - Emilia, 21, refugee camp volunteer
The long and short of it is that what happened at Sokovia was irresponsible and deadly, and with the Sokovia Accords never being brought to fruition, many feel justice was never found for those still suffering thanks to Ultron's attack, even after a decade. Many would simply prefer to dust off their hands and tell themselves "Ultron was stopped, the day was won, nothing more is to be done." Well not here!!! At the Daily Bugle we always strive to tell the truth, no matter how uncomfortable or problematic. To join our daily newsletter comment underneath one of our posts to be added to the list. Be sure to comment your thoughts about the handling of the Sokovia situation, or leave an anonymous submission to get potentially featured in a later news story.
â J Jonah Jameson
âââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ Editor's note: This is one of the very few instances where me and Mr Jameson agree: Sokovia was handled poorly and its people are still suffering. However, there are still many positives to be found in a story like this. Countless refugee and volunteer organizations have been supporting the Sokovian people, several funded by the Starks themselves. This does not absolve them of blame but it is more than nothing, and hopefully this article will bring the plight of the Sokovian people into the public eye at last And before anyone asks, intern Peter had a great time in Amsterdam â J.E. - Lead Editor

hey! I'm looking for a fic where the avengers need some good PR so they decide to adopt a kid. they end up adopting peter and peter thinks it's just a cover for him to join the avengers. he ends up finding out on his his first day at the tower that they don't know he's actually spiderman and they think he's some regular kid. he's dating mary jane in this one
this is for you. Enjoy
Adopting Identities by Thisisentertaining
No one's surprised when Pepper suggests an alternative to the Sokovian accords before the councilman can even propose the idea. Itâs Pepper after all. Of course, she waits until the councilman leaves before dropping the real bomb. The public needs to see a deliberate, personal movement. They need to see the lives of the Avengers be affected by the losses they leave. When Peter Parker gets a call from his social worker, he just knows he's being kicked out of yet another foster home. When he burst into her office to see the Avengers waiting to adopt him, heâs sure that it was their way of inviting Spiderman to join the team. Luckily the Avengerâs like to discuss vigilantes over breakfast. A small tingle of non-spidey-sense-related nerves flutter in his stomach when Tony complains about the lack of cameras in Queens, but it isnât until the heroes start suggesting possible people or personalities for the man behind the spider mask that he realizes he has no clue whatâs going on.

- TEARS ON THE GRAND PIANO
â pairing: wanda maximoff x fem!reader (mini series)
â synopsis: moving on from the only person youâve ever loved is proving to be hard⌠so hard that hiring an escort seems to be the only way forward.
â warnings: a lil angst and comfort to start us off, welcome to the prologue, hope you enjoy!

2ND AUGUST 2016
All is quiet in the compound.
In the middle of the night, you find yourself seated at your piano, bathed in the soft glow of a single lamp. Your fingers move wearily across the keys, trying to breathe life into the notes of a song that has been evolving in your mind since the day you met Wanda.
The melody is your escape, a sanctuary from the weight of the Sokovian Accords and the chaos that seems to envelop your world.
Exhaustion clings to you like a heavy cloak, but the song demands to be finished. Each note is a release, a fragment of emotion woven into the fabric of the music.
Ever since that ill-fated mission in Lagos, the Avengers' world has been turned upside down. The compound, once a haven of camaraderie, now echoes with the tension born of differing opinions on the Accords. It's torn your makeshift family apart, leaving you grappling with your own stance on the matter.
It is expected of you as a super-powered member and also as the reason for Lagos being a failure. The plan had gone awry, and in the chaos, you deviated from the carefully laid out strategy. Overwhelmed by the enemy, your powers were not enough. It was Wanda who came to your rescue, a selfless act that saved your life but led to a devastating consequence.
The explosion in the building, full of innocent people, sat solid on your conscience. And now the weight of responsibility hangs heavy on your shoulders as you try to find solace in the music you create. The piano, an old friend, is both a refuge and a confidant in these trying times.
You're so engrossed in your composition that you fail to notice the subtle creak of the door as Wanda steps into the room, her silhouette framed by the dim light.
She watches you for a moment, concern etched on her face.
âWhy are you still awake?" she asks, her voice soft and filled with genuine worry.
You don't immediately respond, caught in the grip of your creative trance.
"Couldn't sleep," you admit, the weariness evident in your voice. "Needed to get this out."
Wanda's gaze softens, understanding the therapeutic power of your music. But her concern doesn't wane.
"And you? Why are you up?" You inquire, curious about the restlessness that brought her into your space.
A hint of sadness crosses her features as she confesses, "I had another nightmare.â
That hasnât happened in a while, only on a rare occurrence since she started to heal from the events in Sokovia. Her war-torn homeland.
The pain of her brother's death used to haunt her dreams frequently, the agony vivid and raw in her memory. You remember when she first told you how it felt that day, the overwhelming emptiness as she felt her brotherâs life slip away as if it were her own.
That was the first time she lost control of her powers.
A surge of empathy washes over you, and you instinctively reach out to touch her hand.
"I'm sorry.â You whisper, your own exhaustion momentarily forgotten.
She manages a small smile, her eyes lighting up.
âWell, I was thinking," she begins, her tone almost conspiratorial, "maybe you could come sleep in my room tonight. You know, like a sleepover?â
You can't resist the charming plea in her eyes, even though you know itâs all fake. Laced with fear of falling asleep just to end up back in another nightmare.
Usually, the sleepover ends with her clinging onto you tightly, whatever movie you both decided on long forgotten, as she sleeps peacefully. The nightmares suddenly gone as soon as you're around.
âAlright." You agree, setting aside your messy sheets. "Lead the way, mâlady."
The piano sits in silent anticipation as you follow Wanda out of the room, leaving the notes hanging in the air.
Later into the night, you both settle into her bed, the warmth of shared dreams replace the chill of nightmares. Wrapped in the comfort of each other's presence, you both drift into a peaceful sleep, leaving the half-finished melody to linger in the stillness of the night and challenges that await with the morning sun.
That was the last time you slept with Wanda.

Series Masterlist | Main Masterlist
-
Wanda Maximoff is strapped to a chair.
Again.
Fortunately, it's not because she'd been caught behind enemy lines or had to be restrained because of those stupid accords that nobody really cares about except Tony and Steve.Â
No, Wanda Maximoff is at the dentist's office.Â
Again.
Okay, so, sheâs not strapped per se, but the patient bib she wears over her clothes certainly feels like one, especially when that chair starts to tilt back as soon as you nudge the adjustor with your foot. It's like being bound in place, just without the actual restraints.
Her lips are dry, and her heart is beating just a little too fast, but not from fear this time. It's a different sort of edginess that Wanda feels, especially when you lean in too close to her face to check her molars. Your face is just inches from hers, eyebrows strewn in concentration and eyes focused. Wanda tries to look away, but there's nowhere to look except the ceiling or into those scrutinizing eyes.
It also doesnât help that you smell absolutely incredible. Last week, you smelled like raindrops on petals. Today, you smell like cinnamon and vanilla, and she finds both scents comforting and addicting.Â
âSo, Wanda,â you say, your voice calm and gentle, âHow have you been taking care of your teeth since the last visit?â
âUh, fine,â Wanda tries to articulate the words properly but all that comes out is a garbled âahhh fuhâ. You don't mock her in any way; instead, you display an expert understanding of your patients' speech patterns.Â
âYou've been brushing and flossing?â
Wanda nods.
âGood girl,â you say, and even though your smile is hidden behind the mask, she can still see it in your eyes. They crinkle at the corners, and it just sends something warm and happy in Wandaâs chest whenever she sees it.Â
But thereâs nervousness, too.
In fact, a lot of things about you make her nervous. After all, your kind used to be the bane of her existence.
You turn away to prepare the necessary tools, and Wanda's mind starts to wander. How many patients do you see in a day? Are you always this nice and charming to them?Â
Are they also nervous around you? Or is it just her?
âAlright, Wanda,â you say, turning back to her, your eyes kind and understanding. âLet's get started. Just a small pinch, and you'll feel a little numb.â
She nods again, and the procedure begins.Â
As you work, you talk about mundane things and the new plant you acquired over the weekend. You also talk a little about the Avengers compound and the unique experiences that come with being their on-call dentist, especially with a synthezoid who insists on getting their teeth checked.Â
Wanda answers more freely now, her initial hesitation gone. She finds herself enjoying your companyâenjoying this dental appointment, of all thingsâand even laughing at some of your anecdotes.
Finally, the fillings are in place, and you help her rinse her mouth.
âSee?â you say, patting her shoulder. âThat wasn't so bad.â
Wanda beams at you, feeling quite proud of herself. âNo, it wasn't. Thank you.â
âThere are still three more that might need fillings, but we can schedule that for some other time. Donât want you to get overwhelmed,â you add with a cheeky wink that has Wanda unwittingly clutching the armchair tightly.
You carefully set your tools down on the tray, giving Wanda some room to breathe. Right then, the numbing effect of the anesthesia begins to fade and Wanda winces, her hand instinctively coming up to her jaw, fingers massaging the area where the discomfort is blooming.Â
Seeing her reaction, you recall the ice cream you'd thoughtfully stashed away after sheâd confirmed her appointment.
âFeeling a bit tender there?â you ask, moving towards the small refrigerator you keep in the room. âI have just the thing.â
Wanda looks at you curiously as you retrieve a container of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream. Her eyes widen, and she exclaims, âHow did you know this is my favorite?â
You blush as if youâve been caught doing something you shouldnât. You hadn't expected Wanda to notice the specific flavor of the ice cream, let alone comment on how suspiciously perfect it was that you picked her favorite.Â
âWell, I may have called the Avengers compound and asked around,â you say, sheepishly rubbing the back of your neck. âIt was Visionâwas it?âwho knew. Said you always choose this one.â
You extend the tub of Cherry Garcia to Wanda, and as she takes it, your fingers briefly brush against hers. Both of you pause at the unexpected touch, a small gasp escaping her lips. You quickly shift your attention to the utensil drawer, pulling out a spoon and handing it to her. But instead of digging in immediately, she hesitates, glancing up at you.Â
The white mask you're wearing has kept your full face hidden throughout the appointment, and now, she'd be utterly disappointed if she never gets a peek at your face, which is partly the reason she agreed to come here in the first place.
Wanda Maximoff canât have that. After sitting through an hour in that torture chair, she needs to be rewarded. And not just with ice cream.Â
âWould you... would you like to share it with me?â she asks hesitantly, trying to be subtleâ
âI'd really like to see your face, just once.â
âand then failing at subtlety half a second later.
You blink, surprised at her straightforwardness, and feel a deeper blush spread across your cheeks. Her request is unconventional, yes, but it's also earnest and endearing. Slowly, you reach up and remove the mask, unveiling the smile that Wanda's been so desperate to see.
âWell, I do have quite the sweet tooth, so I couldn't possibly refuse.â you say.
You sit side-by-side on the coach, your knees touching ever so often. You occasionally find yourself pointing to Wanda's lips, indicating where she needs to wipe away the stray cream. Wanda blushes at your attentiveness, but she can't help but appreciate the caring gesture.
Wanda truly wants to prolong this moment, this unexpected opportunity to have you all to herself. But as delightful as the company is, ice cream has its own rules, and it's not much enjoyable when it's melted. So, despite her desire to make the moment stretch on, the ice cream is finished in under ten minutes.Â
Staring at the empty tub, the idea that she might not be the only one to experience this side of you fills her with both reassurance and a hint of envy. Wanda can't help but wonder if there's something special about the connection you share during these brief appointments, or if your comforting demeanor is simply part of being a skilled and compassionate dentist.
Either way, she wants to do something with you that would set her apart from all your other patients.
âUm, so,â she begins, fumbling with her words, her eyes darting around the room before landing on yours. âI was thinking, you know, if you're not too busy or anything, maybe we could... do this again? Not the dental part!â she quickly adds, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. âI mean, maybe dinner, or a movie, or whatever you like? If you want to, of course.â
You look at her with wide eyes, mouth slightly agape, as if you're trying to catch the words that just slipped out of her mouth. Is it a date? Is it just a friendly outing? Regardless, it's not typically professional to see a patient outside of the clinic, especially one as renowned as Wanda Maximoff.Â
âWanda,â you start. âYouâre interesting, funny, and truly amazing.â
You watch as Wandaâs face becomes hopeful, which makes you want to strangle yourself for what you have to say next.Â
âBut Iâm sorry, I canât. I have to consider the professional boundaries that I need to maintain.â
Wanda's eyes widen momentarily, and then she quickly masks her disappointment with a dismissive wave of her hand. âOh, of course, I understand,â she says, her voice light, but not quite reaching her eyes. âI shouldn't have asked. It was silly of me.â
But you can see the hurt in her eyes, the way her shoulders slump just a little, the way her smile doesn't scrunch her nose the way it normally does. She's trying to brush it off, to act like it doesn't matter, but you can tell that it does.
With that, your time together draws to a close. You ask Wanda if she wants to schedule another filling for her remaining molars, but she merely shakes her head, telling you she'll have to think about it. Her eyes avoid yours, and her voice is distant, a clear indication of how your rejection has affected her.
You watch her walk away, a part of you wishing you could call her back, and another part knowing that you made the right choice.Â
It's the first time you experience a profound sense of loathing towards your profession as a dentist.
You wouldnât be surprised if they donât invite you back next year for another routine check-up.
-
Which makes your predicament the following day all the more baffling.
One second, you're tending to a tall, blonde, seemingly ordinary man in your dental chair, going through the routine motions of preparing for a check-up. You turn your back for a moment to prepare your tools, lost in thought and still reeling from yesterday's encounter with Wanda.
When you turn to face your patient again, your heart skips a beat, your hands freezing in place.Â
The man is no longer blonde and ordinary but bald and a striking shade of red.
In a snap, itâs another Avenger in your hands.
You clear your throat, forcing a smile as you approach the chair. âMr. Vision,â you say, trying to keep your voice steady. âI wasn't expecting to see you here.â
Vision is ready to correct you with your use of âMr.â but then he tilts his head, deciding he likes the title next to his name.
âIt's my pleasure to see you, Doctor,â he smiles at you, sitting perfectly still.
You blink at him, still trying to wrap your head around the fact that a synthezoidâone who technically doesn't even have biological teethâis sitting in your dental chair. You can't help but wonder if this is some kind of joke or if Wanda sent him to kill you.
When you continue to stand unmoving in your position, Vision says, âIâm here for a check-up.â
Huh.Â
Okay?
You reach for the mouth mirror and probe, tools typically used for human patients, and hesitate for just a moment.Â
How exactly does one perform a check-up on a synthezoid?
Vision seems to read your uncertainty, his crystal-blue eyes meeting yours. âI assure you, I have all the components you would find in a human mouth,â he says.Â
You nod, beginning to understand. Gathering your focus, you proceed to perform the unusual check-up he's requesting. As you explore his mouth, you find yourself fascinated by the impeccable craftsmanship that went into creating Vision. Every tooth, every gum, is a perfect imitation of its human counterpart.Â
You find yourself feeling a little jealous of his orthodontic assets.Â
As you continue the check-up, he starts to share some stories, his voice even and clear despite your probing.
âYou know, Wanda once fed an alley full of stray cats during a mission in Bucharest,â he says, a soft chuckle in his voice. âWe were on a surveillance assignment, and she noticed them, all huddled together, looking hungry. Before I knew it, she had conjured up bowls of food for them all. It was quite a sight.â
You pause, caught by the image of Wanda surrounded by furry, adorable kittens. âThat sounds adorable.â you reply, moving on to examine his upper molars. 'Cute' was the word on the tip of your tongue, exactly what you meant to say. But you know as well as anyone that finding a patient cute is off-limits.
He continues, âYes, Wanda has a way with things. Once, back at the Avengers HQ, she'd make her dinner portion smaller so the guys with big appetites could eat their fill. Even Natasha, who's quite the cook, found it a stretch sometimes to satisfy the team's hunger.â
And then as he drones on about Wanda, you slowly begin to piece together what's really happening here. Vision isn't just in your clinic for a check-up.Â
He's talking up Wanda.Â
To you.
As if Wanda even needed talking up.
All you could think about was the brunette with her soulful green eyes and a smile that makes you go weak in the knees. Your heart skips a beat at the very thought of her.
But it's not just because Wanda is your patient that you rejected her. There's the awe and reverence you feel towards her as an Avenger, a symbol of justice and freedom, a hero who seems to belong to the world more than to any one person. And then there's the raw, personal part of you, still healing from a toxic relationship that ended only six months ago.
And as Vision concludes his tales of Wanda by sharing how she's the only one patient enough to show him the ropes of what being human is, you see through his carefully crafted façade.Â
He's here to bridge the gap, to make Wanda more accessible, more human in your eyes. He wants you to see her not just as a public figure but as a person with feelings, quirks, and simple kindnesses.
And more than that, he wants you to realize that you're an idiot for saying no to someone as wonderful as Wanda Maximoff.
âYouâre not really here for a check-up, are you?â you smile at him knowingly.
Vision looks at you, his synthetic eyes almost mischievous and for a while you forget that he isnât human.Â
He pauses for a moment, as if considering his next words, and then he smiles back.
âNo,â he finally says, his voice carrying a hint of both humor and sincerity. âI'm not.â
He then continues, his tone turning thoughtful. âWanda has been... sulking. For hours, locked up in her room listening to âLips of an Angelâ on repeat. She told me before that I am her 'best friend,'â he says, the term slightly foreign in his mouth. âI looked up what that means, and it included helping her be happy.â
Apart from the reveal of what kind of music Wanda listens to, you feel Visionâs words tugging at your heart strings. Well, at least until he saysâ
âNatasha explained to me that Wanda is being, as she put it, 'emo' because she got rejected by a possible... sexual mate.â
You'd choke on your water if you were drinking one.
That's not what you expected him to say, not in the least. The sentence hits you like a left-field curveball, utterly disrupting the flow of the conversation. It's so... so... un-Vision-like, and yet, here he is, stating it as matter-of-factly as he might describe the weather.
âGiven that, I would like to ask you to reconsider going out with my âbest friendâ.â
You're still coming to grips with everything that's just happened. Vision, Wanda's âbest friendâ here in your clinic, attempting to play matchmaker. What he's asking isn't small, but the way he's asking, the care he's shown in understanding human relationships, his concern for Wanda's feelingsâit all makes you pause.
You think about what you were doing on your computer last night, googling Wandaâs name and trying to find out all you could about the young Avenger.
Finally making a decision, you look up at Vision squarely in the eye.Â
âWould you happen to know Wandaâs email address?â you ask, fiddling with the lapels of your white coat. âAnd also her phone number?â
-
âOh, thank god,â Natasha sighs as she hears Wanda hit pause on the 46th replay of Lips of an Angel.
Yes, 46. Natasha had made Vision count, and that doesn't include the ones he missed when she urgently dispatched him to you to remediate the Wanda situation immediately.
She hears someone whistling a tune coming from the hallway and is surprised to see Vision, apparently adopting Steve's habit in his eagerness to act more human.
âMission accomplished?â she asks, her eyes narrowing.
Vision stops whistling, a look of satisfaction in his synthetic eyes. âI believe I made some progress. Our friend has promised to think about reconsidering the decision.â
âJust think about it? You were gone quite a while for a 'maybe.'â
Vision pauses, his head tilting slightly. âI believe I was able to present Wanda in a way that may help our friend realize her feelings for her.â
âYou think she has feelings for our Wanda?â Natasha's voice betrays her surprise, and she can't quite catch herself using the word âourâ. She continues, slightly flustered, âI was thinking maybe she'd just indulge Wanda's crush for a while, then befriend her, so as not to completely shut her down.â
âI observed her vitals while telling her about Wanda, and all the signs point to yes, she has feelings for our Wanda,â Vision answers, thoughtfully echoing Natasha's use of âourâ.Â
She smirks, leaning against the wall. âWell, let's hope your efforts pay off. I can't take another 46 replays of that song.â
Vision stoically considers Natasha's last statement. âActually, Agent Romanoff, I must disagree. I could listen to another replay. Technically, it's a well-composed song.â
Natasha's face twists into a look of mock disgust. âI swear, if you start advocating for boy bands next, I'm holding Wanda personally responsible.â
âI'll consider that when expanding my musical repertoire.â
She waves a dismissive hand, still grinning. âJust don't start singing in the shower. We've got enough noise in the mornings as it is.â
-
Around the time that Wanda has just hit pause on the Hinder hit that has been playing on loop, a notification sounds off her laptop.Â
She quickly turns her attention to it and clicks on the email that has arrived from your clinic. Inside, there's a referral letter personally written by you, referring Wanda to another colleague of yours.
You no longer want to be her dentist, the email makes that clear. Somehow, this hurts more than your rejection of her yesterday.
Before she can fully process the referral, her phone buzzes with a call from an unknown number. She hesitates, before deciding to answer. âHello?â
âHi, Wanda. Itâs Y/N. F-From the clinic?â you breathe out in a rush, the words tangled with your nerves. Wanda takes note of how your voice sounds over the phoneâdeeper and more intimate against her ear.
She takes a moment to reply, still a little thrown by the referral. âOh, hi. I just read your email,â she says.
âYes, about thatâŚâ You trail off, pausing as you try to find the right words. âI was thinking, instead of discussing that over the phone, maybe we could talk about it over dinner on Friday? If you're freeââ
âIâd love to,â Wanda quickly accepts, her heart threatening to jump out of her chest.
You try to suppress a chuckle, grateful that Wanda canât see your cheeks turning a rosy pink.Â
âGreat! I'll pick you up at seven?"
âSeven it is.â Her reply is soft, almost shy. You say your goodbyes, both of you grinning to yourselves as you both hang up.Â
Back in her room, Wanda stares at her phone, a broad smile on her face, touching it as if it's your face.
She presses play on the song once more, not as a lament but as a triumph.Â
Much to Natashaâs dismay.
