OK, so this is a very team cap post.
So I'm pretty sure Tony never told Peter the reasons for the Civil war. Like Peter would have one hundred percent taken Steve's side ( the sokovian accords say that all superheros must reveal thier identity, which Peter would not want to do at all.)
So if he chose to mislead (trick) Peter, how can anyone really believe that he's better than cap!?? Like he has no problem tricking a fourteen year old boy and yet people still support him? Whereas Cap was a good friend all through the film, and gave up everything to fight for what he thought was the right thing.
Not to mention the fact that Tony dragged a flippin 14 year old into a battle! And the fact that he tried to kill Bucky - who is also a victim - to get revenge for his parents even though bucky was even more of a victim than the starks!
And I'm not even getting started on his treatment on bucky.
I know there are more anti-iron facts, feel free to add them.

I’m bored and going down the Pro vs Anti Sokovian Accords argument rabbit hole thing. Honestly? Didn’t know so many people had an opinion about this (Legal Eagle??), but there are so many ways to like interpret everything than just “Team Steve and Team Tony”, especially if you take into account how the Accords would affect how the Avengers function as a whole. So,

jealousy, jealousy
bucky barnes x avenger!reader (no use of y/n)
bucky hates when his girl has to flirt with the enemy
word count: 1.5k | warnings: none
The whole idea of it was absolutely, utterly stupid.
Zemo was obsessed with you, that much was obvious when he couldn't leave your name out of his mouth during the whole Sokovia Accords issue. Now, he was up to no good once more after escaping prison, leaving the Avengers no choice but to find out what he was up to.
The only problem? He refused to speak. Well, he refused to speak unless it was with you.
Bucky felt rage creep up his whole body when Steve explained what you had to do. You had to actually pretend to be interested in every single word Zemo said, meaning even if he flirted, you had to just take it. Apparently, this genius idea was Tony's, and the rest of the team had agreed to it, meaning Bucky's opinion was next to worthless, especially when you already agreed.
He trusted you with every ounce of his being, and he knew you wouldn't do it if you couldn't handle it, but he hate the fact that Zemo was probably going to flirt your ear off. You were Bucky's girl, his doll, his special girl, his everything, not Zemo's.
Nonetheless, Bucly had to hold his tongue and silently nod as Steve explained.
"What're you thinking, Buck?" Steve asked, noticing Bucky's silent deminor.
"I'm thinking about how many ways I could murder Zemo," Bucky commented, eyes darkening.
Steve sighed, placing a hand on Bucky's shoulder, "Bucky, she said she could do this."
"It's not her I don't trust, Steve. Imagine your girl getting hit on and you couldn't do jack shit to stop it. How would you feel then?" Bucky seethed, taking a deep breath in. "Sorry, that was hostile."
With a shake of his head, Steve's eyebrows furrowed. "I understand, Bucky. But we have to get to the bottom of Zemo's plan, and he won't talk unless its to her."
The whole team sat in silence, now gathered in the meeting room. The only noise was the whirl of the fan above their heads as they watched the live footage of you standing in front of Zemo's cell.
"Zemo," You said, crossing your arms. "Being stubborn as always, I hear."
A crooked smile formed on the man's face as he leaned his head on the bars, as close to you as he could get. "Darling, I just did not wish to speak to such insolent people such as the Avengers," Zemo scowled as he spoke. "But a dove as sweet as you? How could I pass?"
Bucky felt his fists clench tightly as he watched the interaction. God, he just wanted to deck this guy straight in the nose. Ever since the Sokovian first went on the run, he always seemed to make some time mid-battle to try and make some small talk with you. It annoyed not only Bucky, but everyone. No one talks that much during a fight. However, now that he was captured, it was the perfect time to use his infatuation of you to the team's advantage.
"Tell me, what do you have planned with those," You paused, grabbing your file and flipping through the loose pages, "Ah, 'weapons of double mass extinction' as you so delicately put it."
Zemo laughed, "Extinction is not my end goal if that is what you are asking my dove."
"It wasn't," You added as Zemo continued.
"However, I am just so excited to reveal what they will be used for." He smiled. Your brow shot up, waiting for his answer. "But seeing it will be the best reveal of all."
Sam sighed, watching this all carry on from where the team was still sat. "He's just gonna play games with her."
"She's smarter than you'd think, give her a chance." Natasha said, "I'd know, I trained her."
Tony stood up, "I don't like this, I'm ending it."
Bucky held up his hand, nodding. "For once, I gotta agree with Stark. I want my girl out of his sight."
Quickly, Steve stood up, "This is our only chance to find out what Zemo has planned. He won't lay a finger on her. Is it uncomfortable? Of course it is, none of us enjoy watching him flirt with her, but it'll work." Tony sat down as Bucky grumbled, all eyes falling back to the screen that showed you now closer to Zemo's bars.
"Would your wife really enjoy knowing you're flirting with me?" You slightly taunted, wanting to push his buttons.
"My wife is dead, but you already know of this." Zemo replied.
With a knowing nod, you pursed your lips, "She was Sokovian too, yeah?"
"We were all from Sokovia, my wife and son, as well as myself." Zemo answered.
"Born and raised?" You continued. Zemo gave a nod as you thought for a moment with a hum, "Were you there when Ultron attacked?"
Zemo nodded, "Yes. That is when my family was murdered."
"I'm sorry," You honestly replied. "Does it still bother you? Not your dead family, but the Sokovia thing. You know, the floating?"
A quick glance of the situation, and it would've looked like you were now just chatting with the enemy, but you held down a smirk as Zemo replied. "Of course I am. That was my home."
"New York could be your home now," You offered. "Turn yourself in and we can get you transferred here."
Zemo laughed, "I would not wish to be here after what will happen."
Boom. You looked up to the camera, "You all got that?" You asked the camera, knowing your team was watching. You grabbed your file, standing up. "Thank you for your time, Zemo. This was very informative." You grabbed your comm and pushed it down, "Stand-by. Send Stark-Bots to check perimeters of the state. Zemo's planning on making us levitate like Sokovia."
Face pale, Zemo stood up, yelling incoherent words that fell upon your deaf ears as you left the room. Bucky, who had seen it all, was already waiting for you outside. He was quick to grab you and hold you tight to his chest.
"I'm okay, Buck," You smiled, voice muffled from your face being pushed against his strong body.
Bucky shook his head, "I know, I just don't want you near that freak again."
You couldn't help but laugh at his words as you pulled away enough to give him a kiss. "You jealous of Zemo?"
"You played into it," Bucky muttered.
"It was all fake, love." You replied. "You know I'm your girl."
Bucky couldn't help but smirk, "Damn right you are." He turned to the door that lead to Zemo's cell. "You hear that? She's my damn girl!"
You couldn't help but feel your heart thump at Bucky's words. He was always so damn hot when he was jealous. "C'mon, show your girl how much you love her." You teased, Bucky's eyes falling on you once more. He was quick to grab your waist with his metal arm, pulling you in as his other hand rested on the back of your neck, pushing your face against his as his lips locked with yours, a tight, sloppy kiss ensuing in the middle of the hall.
"I'm never letting you do that again." Bucky muttered, pulling away to speak. His breath was hot on your cheek as he spoke. He pulled you into another wet kiss as a soft ahem came from behind you both.
"This is not a room, but I'm sure your horny asses could find one."
Bucky groaned as he turned around, "Do you have to ruin every moment?" He asked Sam who stood smugly.
He put his hands in the air, "I just wanted to congratulate Nat's best student on her great work. Especially the one where she made her soldier get all jealous"
"Thank you, Sam," You smiled, a light blush on your face.
Bucky took a pen out of his pocket and threw it at Sam, "Get outta here, man!"
"Alright, alright! No need for hostility." Sam defended as he walked away.
As Sam left, you gave a knowing smile at Bucky. "So jealous over my mission, huh?"
Bucky scoffed, feeling embarrassment creep in his chest, "I wasn't jealous."
"I think you were," You argued. "Over Zemo of all peopke."
"Only I can talk to you that way," Bucky said, voice nearly a whine. "You're all mine, not his or anyone else's, and he knows it."
You smiled, giving Bucky a kiss on the cheek, "And that's probably why he loves doing it so much. You know he's got a thing against super soldiers. He's gonna do anything to get under your skin."
"And he chose the worst way to do it," Bucky muttered as you pressed a soft kiss on his lips.
Bucky looked at you with a goofy smile, pulling back. "C'mon, doll. We still got some work to do cleaning up Zemo's mess."
"Someone's feeling better," You teased as you both began to walk. "You'd better show me some more of that jealousy later," You suggested.
"Oh, I will," Bucky smiled. "You bet your fine ass I will."

It was a struggle for Y/N to settle in to living at the compound, although it was a comfort to them for Wanda also being there, when she’s not on missions, it was hard for them to be completely comfortable, knowing that the others didn’t really trust them.
“Welcome back girls.” Steve smiled once both Wanda and Nat returned from their recon mission, Wanda could sense that Y/N wasn’t at the compound.
“Where’s Y/N?” She questioned before greeting the team.
“They went on their own mission.” Tony informed her.
“In other words, killing in cold blood.” Steve scoffed, earning a glare from Wanda.
“It’s not cold blood if it stops Hydra from ever forming again.” Bucky retorted, turning Steve’s attention to him.
“You don’t know that these people have links to Hydra, for all we know it could just be their own hitlist.” Steve countered, watching as Bucky shook his head.
“You don’t understand Steve.” He spoke calmly. “You were never a part of Hydra, you were never their puppet, manipulated into doing their work. You were always the good one, on the good side.”
“That doesn’t mean that what they’re doing is right.” Steve raised his voice slightly.
“So, would you rather there be a chance that Hydra rebuilds, without any one being able to stop it?” Bucky questioned. “Innocent people going missing for them to be experimented on and tortured?”
“We would be able to stop it the right way.” Steve tried, making Wanda chuckle dryly.
“No, we wouldn’t.” She spoke up. “What Y/N is doing is the right way, they are making sure that no innocent people will ever be hurt again, no families would experience the loss that we have all endured, that Y/N has endured.”
“This is unbelievable.” Steve muttered as he turned to walk away.
“They’re right, Frosty.” Tony added, making Nat chuckle at the nickname. “Y/N’s way is more of a preventative measure.”
“Do you agree with this?” He asked Natasha, who looked him straight in the eyes.
“If I thought there was a chance that someone would rebuild the Red Room, I would do what Y/N is doing right now.” Natasha told him honestly, her arms crossed. “So yes, I do agree with them.”
“But these people have families of their own.” He tried as Nat shrugged.
“It stops them from brainwashing their children, or grandchildren into thinking Hydra would be the solution to every government or world issue.” She told him firmly. “Governments, politicians and agencies all have their own agendas to benefit themselves, I remember you once said that when you went against the Sokovian Accords to protect your best friend.”
“Bucky was innocent, we all know this.” Steve tried weakly, knowing he was losing his argument.
“I still have a lot of blood on my hands, innocent blood.” He reminded him. “It doesn’t matter if I was under their mind control and had no idea what I was doing, but it was still my hands that followed through on their orders, the assassinations.” With that Steve just walked out, leaving them all behind in a huff.
“When will he get that self righteous icicle from up his ass?” Y/N spoke from behind them, making everyone turn around, the smile on their face growing as their eyes met Wanda’s.
“You’re back?” Wanda questioned as Y/N nodded. “I thought you would be gone longer?”
“I am, as they say, efficient at my job.” They smirked, making her shake her head.
“I’m happy you’re back.” She told them, patting their arm awkwardly before she stepped away. “I am going to get cleaned up.” She said as she started her way towards her room, Nat followed her into her bedroom, closing the door behind them.
“What was that?” Nat questioned as Wanda shrugged, feigning ignorance. “You know exactly what I mean, Wanda, with the awkward pat.”
“What do you want me to say?” Wanda questioned as she sat on the edge of her bed. “That I have some unresolved feelings, especially since they came back into my life after spending a couple of years thinking they had died in my arms.” She sighed as she began to play with the sleeves of her sweater. “Truthfully, I don’t have any unresolved feelings towards them, because I know how I felt about them. I remember the feeling as though it was yesterday and I still have those feelings, maybe even stronger now.”
“But what about Vision?” Nat questioned as Wanda shook her head.
“I don’t know, I know I felt something for him, but with Y/N it’s different.” Wanda admitted. “I can’t quite explain it because I never thought I would ever feel as safe as I did when I was in Hydra.” She chuckled lightly before continuing. “I know how weird that sounds, given Hydra’s history and all, but they made me feel safe, I knew that while I was there, I wouldn’t ever come into harm's way, neither did my brother. Y/N cared for the both of us, unlike any of the other guards who worked there.”
“What about when they weren’t there? They must have needed to take a day or two.” Nat questioned as Wanda shook her head.
“They were there every day, without fail.” Wanda told her. “Or they had the only other guard they knew that they could trust, watch over us while they accompanied Strucker. Y/N saved both myself and Pietro, on multiple occasions, knowing just how it would end for them if they ever got caught.”
“You were in love with them.” Nat stated, earning a shush from Wanda.
“I was.” She whispered before she looked at her hands. “And I still am.” She admitted. “But I don’t know what to do, I’m not even sure I am ready for it myself, especially with Vision in the picture.”
“You do know, you will have to choose.” Nat told her. “You know both of them would want you to be happy, no matter what or who you decide.”
“I know.” Wanda took a deep breath. “But I am not ready to lose anyone else, not yet, not ever.”
“I’m sorry about Steve.” Bucky spoke as he entered the training room, seeing Y/N at the weights. “He thinks that there is always a choice, especially when people's lives are in our hands.”
“But how many people has he killed during war? How many enemies has he killed during missions?” Y/N questioned, putting the weights down. “He thinks he is doing good, following orders like the good soldier, for the same government in which Hydra had hidden inside of over the decades.”
“Trust me, I understand where you are coming from.” Bucky started before being cut off by them.
“You don’t understand.” They told him. “Once he knew that you were still alive, he never gave up on you, he fought to get you back to being you. He is your friend, your brother in arms, I never had anyone who would fight for me like that. I had my family taken away from me, I watched them die before my own eyes and I was just a stupid kid who couldn’t save them.” They took a shaky breath before continuing. “I couldn’t save my younger brother. He was barely five years old and he died in my arms. Strucker watched me break on that night, he took away the last bit of happiness and hope I had left. So yeah, I remained with Hydra, following through on the orders I was given, that was until I met Wanda and Pietro. They reminded me what it meant to be family, to have someone who would go to the literal ends of the earth for you, because they would have died for each other, and their home. They reminded me that, maybe yeah, working with Hydra isn’t the greatest choice, hell, it’s not smart either but they only joined because they were misled, Hydra took their beliefs, their faith and used it for their own gains, making themselves two weapons that would match the greatness of the Winter Soldier. Steve may have seen war over the years he’s been on top, but he hasn’t seen the same war that you and I have so he doesn’t understand.” Bucky only nodded, knowing they were right with everything they had just told him. “Not everyone’s war is the same war, whether it be physical or mental.” With that they walked away, heading up towards the kitchen to grab some water.
“You’re new here.” A voice sounded as Y/N opened the fridge.
“Unfortunately, I am.” They answered, turning to face a teenager.
“Are you an Avenger?” He questioned excitedly.
“Not really, no.” Y/N answered him honestly. “Are you?” They questioned him.
“No, Mr Stark doesn’t think I’m responsible enough.” He told them, jumping down from the counter. “But I am your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.” He smiled confidently.
“Oh, so you’re the bug kid?” They teased him with a smirk.
“No, I’m Spiderman.” He answered them seriously.
“Just a question, how do you manage to climb walls or ceilings, if it's because your skin is like that of a spiders, how does that work through the costume?” They asked him, a serious expression on their face.
“I don’t really know.” He pondered, thinking about it. “I never really thought about it.”
“I’m only joking, kid.” They told him with a light chuckle, heading towards the exit. “I need to go and shower, but it was nice meeting you Spiderman.”
“Peter, Peter Parker.” He held out his hand for them to shake.
“Y/N.” They introduced themselves before heading straight to their room, Steve entering shortly after they left.
“Don’t interact with them.” He ordered Peter. “You don’t know what kind of killer they are.”
“Technically, aren’t we all killers in some way.” Peter told him honestly.
“They are different, dangerous and untrustworthy.” Steve told him sternly.
“I think I can trust my own judgment Mr Rogers.” Peter told him confidently before retreating towards Tony’s lab, leaving Steve defeated.
As the days went on, Y/N still remained distant from the rest of the team, only going to the kitchen for food or water, and training at night while everyone was either asleep or occupied with other things. One night, they never expected to have company whilst they were doing their own training.
“Hey.” Nat spoke up as she entered the room, watching as Y/N soon started to put down the equipment they were using.
“I was just finishing up.” They started before grabbing their belongings and heading towards the exit.
“I didn't want you to leave, Y/N.” Nat told them calmly. Y/N observed her, trying to figure out what she wanted. “I know it’s hard for you to settle in here right now, especially with Steve on his high horse.”
“What are you trying to get across?” Y/N asked her, tilting their head as Nat shuffled on her feet and glancing around the room.
“You were right, we all have blood on our hands, whether we intended or not.” She started, Y/N remained silent as they listened to her. “You are more alike to a vast majority of us here, we have all had a bad start in our careers but we had the chance to turn it around, fight for something that’s worth fighting for and Steve, he just doesn’t understand that. He has always fought for good, he has never had to endure the lack of choices the rest of us here have. He just doesn’t understand that sometimes freedom of choice isn’t always an option.”
“That’s not going to change how he sees me, he won’t ever trust me, not alone nor a part of this team.” They told her honestly.
“Then prove it to him.” She told them firmly. “Prove it that you can be trusted, not only as a part of this team but as a person.” Y/N then turned to walk away before she started to talk again. “You know, Wanda seems happier with having you here and back in her life. I’ve never really seen her so settled here, not before you came here.”
“She deserves to be happy.” Y/N spoke quietly, turning back to her once more. “That’s all I have ever wanted for her, to be happy and safe, and I know she is safe here with all of you.” With that they left the training room, leaving Nat alone in the empty room. Y/N had started to feel a new sense of belonging since having that conversation with Nat, feeling more at ease in their new home.
“So, you only have one more job left on your Hydra Agenda?” Maria questioned as she joined Y/N in their room, looking over the information they had gathered on the last name.
“Yeah, but this may be harder than all of the others.” They told her, giving her the folder. “Theodore is the head of an old Mafia family, his location is like a fortress.” They informed her. “It’s going to be harder for me to just sneak in and get the job done under the radar like I have all of the others.”
“And it seems he has doubled his security measures too.” She murmured as she combed through the pages. “So you’re going to need a team.”
“But with this one, we may be able to take down this whole organization itself.” Y/N stated. “It will help the local police too, especially since most of the crime here is caused by them.”
“We can always talk to Fury about putting a team together and then we can take them.” Maria told them. “I’ll speak with Fury and see if we can spare a team of SHIELD agents and when we can get this job done.” Y/N thanked her before she left their room, shortly after Wanda entered, leaning against the door frame.
“Hey.” She spoke softly, gaining their attention, gesturing to her to come inside.
“Hey.” They smiled awkwardly as they turned their desk chair to face her. “Are you okay?” They asked as they watched her walk around their room, observing the decor.
“You haven’t decorated, you know, like made this room your own.” She told them as she turned to face them.
“Well, I don’t exactly know what I’m supposed to do.” They admitted shyly. “I haven’t really thought of colours or anything else like that since, well you know.” They looked down at their hands, sadness evident in their posture.
“That’s okay.” Wanda reassured them. “Maybe we can make this room more your style if you’d like.”
“I don’t even know what my style is.” They chuckled as they rose from their chair, heading towards their closet. “I think I just dress in the same colours of my uniforms, which luckily is always black.” They didn’t watch as Wanda found an old picture of herself and Pietro when they were teens.
“You found this?” She questioned as she picked it up, a small smile on her face.
“I uh, Maria found it on the ground near me when they found me.” They admitted sheepishly. “I couldn’t not keep it, I know this is going to seem messed up but you and Pietro were like the only family I had ever had over the years. You both made me see what it was like to finally have hope and someone who would always have your back.”
“It’s not messed up.” She whispered shakily, her eyes burning into Y/N’s, neither of them breaking away. “I just thought it was lost forever.”
“No.” They shook their head. “I lo..” They stopped before thinking carefully what to say. “I like having that picture around, because it reminded me of the two of you.”
“You know, Pietro thought highly of you, even with your position at Hydra.” She told them as she placed the photo back down. “When we thought you died, he uh, he was almost as broken as I was.” She admitted as she sat down on the edge of their bed, playing with her fingers.
“I am sorry.” They apologised once more, only for Wanda to wave it off.
“You don’t need to keep apologising for that.” She chuckled lightly as she looked in their eyes, her gaze soft as she spoke. “The important thing is that you are here, you’re alive and I finally have you back.” She took a shaky breath as Y/N listened to her words. “I understand that you couldn’t come and look for me, and that’s okay.”
“I did want to find you.” Y/N admitted shyly. “I wanted to make sure that you were okay, that you were safe and well you are, given the circumstances.” They took a deep breath before they spoke once more, looking at her intensely. “I really am sorry about Pietro, he was a hero, not just to you or me, but to the whole world and your home.” Wanda nodded before she wiped her eyes, Y/N was quick to move to sit beside her, cautiously wrapping an arm around her.
“Thank you.” She sniffled as she looked at them as they sat beside her. “But, maybe we should go shopping for some paint and decorate this room. Get you out of this compound and maybe have some freedom from work.”
“Yeah, we should do that.” They agreed as they removed their arm from her. “Maybe after my last target.”
“Are you almost done with that list?” She questioned as Y/N nodded.
“I just have to assemble a team to accompany me on this one.” They told her. “Unfortunately, this last one knows that someone is onto them and well, it’s going to be extremely difficult to do my usual thing.”
“I can help.” Wanda started as Y/N shook their head no. “Why not?” She questioned as she stood up, her eyes burning into them.
“I just.” They started before they let go of a breath they were holding in. “Fury is picking the team so I don’t really have a choice who is joining me.” Wanda observed them, hoping they would say something else but only to receive silence.
“Okay.” Wanda pursed her lips before she headed towards the door, wanting to say something more but deciding not to as she left them alone in their room. Y/N looked at their door before they groaned and lay back on their bed.
“You know, it’s kind of sad how you both tip toe around each other.” Nat spoke up with a smirk as she leaned on their door frame.
“Are you sure you don’t have some sort of superpower?” Y/N questioned as she just chuckled.
“Nope, I am just extremely bored and well I have been asked to accompany you, Maria, Clint and some other agents on your next trip.” She informed them as she stepped in their room. “But you should really grow a pair of balls and tell her how you really feel.” She told them quietly as she stepped inside their room and closed the door.
“I don’t know what you mean.” They tried as Nat moved to sit in their desk chair.
“Yeah, you do.” She told them. “I can see how you look at her, ever since you came here you give her the same look every time.”
“I can’t tell her.” They said as they sat up, facing the Widow. “I just got her back and I don’t want to lose her again. I can’t do that again, she was my lifeline whilst we were both in Hydra, the one person who helped me hold on to the hope that I had already thought I had lost when I was younger.”
“Trust me, you won’t lose her.” Nat told them softly. “I can see just how important you are to her too.”
“Really?” They asked hopefully.
“Really, it’s kind of a hobby of mine to observe everyone and figure out things before anyone else does.” She told them with a smirk. “I don’t like to be the last to know, and it’s even better when I know things before Stark because he hates not always figuring things out.”
“Thank you.” Y/N spoke shyly as they picked at their cuticles. “It’s nice to have a friend, if that’s what we even are.” The two shared a laugh as Nat nodded.
“We’re friends.” She told them as she stood up. “But, I would kick your ass if you hurt Wanda in any way shape or form.”
“You wouldn’t need to.” They told her, watching as she raised a brow. “I would kick my own ass if I ever did something to hurt her, no matter how small it is.” Nat smiled before she headed towards the door.
“Good.” She smiled before opening the door. “I shall see you at the briefing for our mission.” With that she left the room, Y/N remained in their spot, thinking about what Nat had just told them before deciding to get up to find Wanda. Searching her room and everywhere else they could think of before they entered the kitchen, watching as Wanda cooked as Vision helped her, Wanda laughing as Vision spoke to her, their chest tightening at the scene that played before them before deciding to head back to their room. Not realising that Wanda knew they were there, a sad look in her eye at the doorway of the kitchen before she continued her conversation with Vision.
“Are you okay, Wanda?” Vision questioned as he observed her change in mood.
“Oh, yeah.” Wanda over compensated as she continued to cook.
“I am not entirely an expert on human emotions, but I can see that you are clearly troubled by something.” He told her. “You have actually been like this since Y/N had arrived here.”
“It’s nothing.” She tried to wave him off.
“Wanda, I like to think that you and I are somewhat friends.” He spoke as he watched her actions. “And not just because of the connection with the mind stone, so I just want you to know that if ever you need to talk about anything, I am always here for you.”
“Thank you Vis.” Wanda spoke quietly, keeping her eye on the task at hand as the next few moments were filled with silence before she spoke again. “I just want to know why they wouldn’t want me to accompany them on their last job on this list, they told me it’s a dangerous one and that they need a team.” She slammed the wooden spoon down as she continued. “I have my powers, I am in control and I will help more so than any of the trained SHIELD agents Fury will assign.”
“Maybe they’re just thinking about your safety.” He reasoned with her. “I understand that they have always wanted to keep you safe, as from the stories you have told me.”
“But I need to think about their safety too.” Wanda told him. “I can’t go through losing them, not again, I’m not strong enough.”
“You are stronger than you think Wanda.” Vision told her before the two carried on with their task.
As the days went on leading up to the mission, Y/N had tried their hardest to avoid both Wanda and Vision, after witnessing their interaction in the kitchen as they both cooked, but as they were getting their gear all set, secretly hoping for Wanda to come to see them off, but she had had the same idea as them.
“All set?” Nat questioned as they approached the car, getting in the passenger seat without another word.
“So, does everyone understand what the plan is?” Y/N asked her, ignoring her observing glance.
“They do, no one comes out alive.” She informed them, watching from the corner of her eye as they nodded. “Are you going to be okay?” She asked them as she drove towards their destination.
“Yeah.” They told her bluntly.
“Are you sure? ‘Cause it seems like you have your knickers stuck up your ass right now.” She told them, making them look over at her.
“I am sure.” They told her. “And for the record, I wear boxers. Knickers would strangle my bollocks.”
“I didn’t want to know that!” She exclaimed with disgust on her face, making Y/N chuckle as they approached the rendezvous point for their mission. Seeing the team of agents who were assigned along with Maria and Clint who were both ready to complete the mission. “But, we’ll get this bastard.” She told them as they got themselves ready, placing their mask over their head before exiting the car with her, weapons in arms as they approached the others. Maria was going over the plan once more, making sure that everyone knew their positions and the goal of this mission before they all made their way to infiltrate the fortress. Clint being their eyes from high above, alerting them all on comms of when they had come across an enemy, ready to take them down.
Both Y/N and Nat were making their way swiftly through the halls, shooting anyone who was a threat to either of them, heading straight towards Theodore’s room. Y/N had one goal in mind and that was to completely disable any chance of Hydra being reborn. As the air was filled with the sound of gunshots and yelling, both Nat and Y/N had approached the door to Theodore’s room, Y/N had signaled for Nat to breach the door, throwing in a flashbang before Y/N had entered the room, shooting anyone who was armed in the process before their eyes found Theodore, who had a gun raised at them.
“What do you want from me?” He questioned as he had aimed his weapon at Y/N’s head.
“This.” Y/N answered bluntly before pulling the trigger, watching as he dropped to the ground as Nat followed behind them.
“Looks like you didn’t need to buddied-up after all.” She smirked as they turned to face her. “You practically cleared this room on your own.”
“I like to be efficient.” They told her as they moved to exit the room, looking behind her as they watched one of Theodore’s men enter the hall, their gun raised as Y/N moved to push Nat to the side before shooting him themselves.
“What was.” Nat started before she turned to watch as Y/N fell to their knees, holding onto their stomach before she moved to them. “We need a medevac now! Theodore’s room, Y/N’s been shot.” She spoke through her comms as she soon put pressure on their wound. “Be careful, they’re using diamond tipped bullets!” She told them as she tried to keep pressure on their wound. “You’re going to be okay.” She tried to reassure them, listening as the gunfire was starting to die down.
“Nat!” Maria yelled as she ran through the hall towards them.
“It’s bad.” Nat told her, watching as Y/N was slipping out of consciousness. “Really bad.”
“It’s going to be okay.” Maria told her. “We have a chopper ETA 5.”
“But.” Nat tried again as Maria shook her head.
“Trust me, they have survived worse than this.” She reassured her. “We’re going to get them to Dr Cho and you know yourself she is the best.” Nat nodded as she kept pressure on the wound.
“Y/N?” She called out as she noticed their eyes closing. “Y/N?” As she kept calling their name, more agents and medics had arrived, Maria moving her to allow them to do their work as they lifted Y/N onto the gurney.
“Come on.” Maria pulled Nat with her, heading straight towards their car and heading straight towards SHIELD HQ. “Since when do you care about them?” Maria questioned as she drove, Nat’s eyes remained on her hands which were covered in Y/N’s blood.
“I uh, we’re friends.” Nat told her honestly, diverting her gaze towards the road ahead as Maria sped through traffic. “But they saved me.”
“What?” Maria questioned.
“They uh, they pushed me out of the way.” She mumbled, her eyes going back to her hands. “I wasn’t paying attention behind me, and Clint never warned us of any other assailants. He should have informed us, he was informing the rest of you. I heard him on comms.”
“What?” Maria questioned, her brow furrowed as she thought for a moment. “He had the drone monitor. Do you think it was deliberate?” She questioned as Nat thought for a moment.
“He wouldn’t have been able to tell who was me or Y/N on the monitor.” Nat responded thoughtfully. “Do you think it was deliberate?” She questioned as Maria shrugged.
“I don’t know, but I will find out when we get back to HQ.” She answered firmly, wanting to get to the bottom of it.

Hey sorry you are ill at the moment, you mentioned requests being open. So if I may
May a request an wanda one shot where both wanda and yn are crushing in each other but both too scared to admit. Pietro is yns friend and takes her out to crazy golf or something to unwind (nothing alcohol related please) . But maybe pietro causes trouble and they end up arrested. Which stresses yn out as she's never been arrested and is scared and paranoid.
Anyway she uses her call to call wanda (much to pietro's displeasure) and she storms in to get them out (def calming down yn and giving her a hug when she sees her in jail and after she gets her out) . (Wanda def makes sure any record of yn getting arrested is gone with her powers) .
Wanda being utterly pissed at pietro, maybe they argue in sokovian and maybe pietro says something (def about them being idiots who won't admit they like each other or something along the lines) and he speeds away and it ends with Wanda being the one to confess and ask yn out.
I know this might seem a bit much or too detailed but let me know what you think :)
You Have The Right To Remain Silent
(I feel like I might start writing Pietro a lot more now)

Post AoU (Female Reader X Wanda Maximoff)
Summary: Pietro takes you out and tries to get you to admit your feelings about Wanda. Simple, right? So why are you making a phone call from a county jail?
Word Count: 3.2K
Content: Pietro is a great friend/menace, Emo Wanda, Cuteness
To say Wanda Maximoff was mad would be THE understatement.
Not only was she mad, she was pissed, enraged, furious, embarrassed, she was- you get it. So, as Wanda grabs her red jacket and storms down to the Avenger's garage, she can't help but replay the most recent call with You repeatedly.
In fairness, you did only have one phone call, at least, according to the cop who arrested Wanda's brother and You.
But let's back it up a bit to this morning when all Pietro wanted to do was take you out. Have a bit of one-on-one hang-out time. You were, after all, his most recent best friend since moving to America and joining the Avengers.
"Y/n, come on, get up!" You were slowly but abruptly being shaken away by your silver-haired friend. You lift your tired arms and push him away. "No, I love sleep!" You cry out why, doing your best to keep your eyes shut, but within a flash, Pietro has lifted your window blinds, making the early morning sunshine right onto you.
Damn, Stark, for putting you in the east corner of the compound.
So, with a loud groan into your pillow, you blink open your eyes to see Pietro smugly smiling. "Hi!" He waved.
What a menace.
You closed your eyes and sighed loudly. But sure enough, about twenty minutes later, you were dressed comfortably in your favorite pair of jeans and a light hoodie. It was about halfway through autumn, so the choice was perfect for the season and for whatever outdoor activity Pietro wanted to drag you to.
As of late, he was known to pull something like this. About two weeks ago, it was Basketball. A month prior, it was Pickleball.
Etc etc.
And you weren't sure if it was meant to happen or not, but the conversations always seemed to steer back to fellow teammate Pietro's sister and your crush, Wanda Maximoff.
And not that Pietro knew. At least you didn't think so...
(He knew.)
Regardless, you stumbled into the Avenger's kitchen and- "Hey, Y/n!" You jolt your head up from the floor of the compound at the accented angelic voice of Wanda. She's standing by the stove making pancakes. She's dressed in her usual wear of black skirts and cardigans. Necklaces hanging from her. Wanda's nails have some of the black polish removed, and her fingers are still wearing rings. Some of the last things from first home...
Sokovia.
Wanda keeps her eyes on you as you smile to see her. Hoping your cheeks don't light up. "Hi, Wanda!" You finally manage to say. She loves the sound of your voice, too. Even when it's all wavered. "You heading out?" Wanda says as you walk further into the kitchen. Heading to the fridge because you're on autopilot.
You look down at your outfit of choice. "Uh yeah, Pietro wanted to do something." Wanda makes anah noise and turns back to the pancakes. "You like blueberries, right?"
Wanda knew you did.
"Yeah." You reply after retrieving a glass of orange juice, making Wanda nod and not so subtly begin making a blueberry pancake. You turned your head away at the feeling of the warmth in your cheeks and sat at the kitchen island.
You felt the need to say something to Wanda. Ask her how she slept. Or what she was doing today. Or if she watched any of the old sitcoms you used to watch after school. But nothing was firing in your brain as you watched her glide through the kitchen.
You were starting to wonder if she didn't have her abilities, what would Wanda do? Chef? Ballet? Actress?
Wanda laughed while flipping over your two pancakes onto a plate. The noise made you raise your eyebrows and look at her with an acute smile. "What's funny?" You asked, but Wanda shook her head. "Just thought about something." She meekly replied with her green eyes, making her red cheeks and freckles pop slightly more. "Here." She then said as she laid down the food in front of you. Her powers setting down the syrup next to you.
You smiled and felt your heart flutter. "You get first dibs." Wanda smiled back. "Wow... Wanda, this looks-"
"Ah, there you are!!" Pietro rushed into the kitchen, making the two of you startle, and dropped your silverware onto the plate. "Jesus!" You yell out while Wanda takes the dish towel next to her and throws it at her brother. "Stop doing that!" She yells, making Pietro roll his eyes. "But you always say that!" Wanda lets out a large sigh and glares at him before turning back to the stove to keep working on breakfast for the rest of the team.
Effectively ending your moment with Wanda.
You pick back up your fork and knife and begin to dig into your specially made pancakes while Pietro tries to apologize to his sister to get her to make him chocolate pancakes, but she refuses and then says: "Only Y/n gets the special treatment!"
You froze, but Pietro smirked and looked at Wanda before communicating with her in Sokovian. A language you wish you could understand. Maybe in time... However, what Pietro said ended up with her yelling something back while trying her best to hide her smile.
Pietro called her out, and thus, a chocolate pancake was laid in front of him minutes later. But leaving food around him doesn't last long, so as much as you wanted to talk to Wanda some more and be terrible at flirting, you were being whisked away for a day with Pietro.
Not before waving bye to Wanda.
"Axe throwing?" You asked Pietro as the two of you walked up to the building after a 30-minute drive. "Not just axe throwing!" You tilted your head and followed the speedster inside.
Pietro took you to the newest evolution in the craze. Inside was your typical kind of place for this activity, but instead of standard sections, this place also had a glow-in-the-dark area and a gamified version where you had to play/win specific challenges for tickets for prizes.
You looked at your friend and saw his smile on his face.
Sometimes, you remind yourself that this is still the same person who lost everything months ago. And here he is with a wide smile.
Also, how in the world did he find out they opened at 10 am was beyond you. It just didn't make sense... But it's a tale, so after ordering some water and snacks, the first axe hit the board.
"No, fair, you're super strong!" Pietro was already whining. You playfully rolled your eyes and grabbed your axe. "Yes, but that and my impenetrable skin don't make me super accurate. I'm not Hawkeye." You say with a little laugh. "Ah, right, the old man," Pietro replied, lifting the axe above his head. You smiled. "I'm so telling him you said that." You say as Pietro's axe lands slightly to the right of the bullseye.
Pietro retrieves it and laughs back before asking you about Natasha Romanoff, aka The Black Widow.
You tried your best to talk him out of asking her, but it didn't work. However, when he got knocked across the gym three weeks from now, you were there to say, "I told you so."
"Bullseye!" You cheered as your axe landed dead center. Pietro watched you walk to grab it with a smile before he did his best to shift the conversation to the real reason for today's adventure. "So Y/n..."
"So Pietro..." You said, copying his tone as he threw his axe. "You and my sister seemed to be getting along..." You tilted your head slightly. "Yeah... so?"
Pietro's axe landed a little below the target. Pietro looked at it before turning to you. "Pietro..." You said as the man stared at you. "Y/n, come on." Pietro grabbed his axe. "Just admit you like my sestra!"
"Pietro!" You raised your voice at his accurate assumption. "She likes you too!" He kept his voice level with yours. "You're too dumb or chicken to do anything about it!" You shook your head. "No. We're just friends!"
Yes, you had a crush on Wanda. Because, of course, you did, but when it came to admitting it to Pietro, you denied, denied, denied.
One, because you'd never hear the end of it.
Two, you didn't want to jeopardize anything between you and Wanda.
And three, could Wanda actually like you back??
"She made you special pancakes! You heard her. No one, but you gets them!" Pietro argues loudly, making one of the few other people in the establishment look over towards the two of you. "Pietro, shh." You say while gesturing with your head to the person, but Pietro isn't bothered by that. Too busy asking you about your crush. "That means something!"
"No, it means nothing." You argue back hoping this would be like any other time Pietro brought up this conversation and have it end reasonably quick. So, as you badly threw your axe at the wall, Pietro stood up.
"So if you think everything between you and my sestra means nothing then that must mean you don't like her."
You picked your axe from the floor. "What?" You replied, standing in the narrow space. "I didn't say that!" A customer looks over at you two. So does an employee. "So there is something?!" Pietro grins as he lets go of the axe right next to you, as you haven't gotten out of the way yet. "Pietro!" You scream even if the axe wouldn't have done anything to your body, thanks to your abilities.
An employee calls a manager over to them to watch you and Pietro.
"Just admit it: you like my sestra!" You huff, but before you can say anything else, he uses his super speed to grab the axe from the board and swing it back at you again. "Say it!" He calls out as it feels like you got a new haircut.
Luckily, nothing was trimmed.
"Yes, I like Wanda-" Pietro goes to interrupt you, but you cut him. "As a friend!" Pietro rolls his eyes and goes to use his powers again, but a man in a blue polo shirt stops him as Pietro raises his axe.
The two of you turn your eyes to the stranger—a manager.
"Hey! You are breaking some rules here and causing a disturbance. Why don't you two come with me!" Pietro looks at you and returns his eyes to the man with the name tag, 'Micheal.' "No, we're cool. It's okay."
You sigh, closing your eyes, knowing that's NOT what you're supposed to say. You move up.
"Hey. I'm sorry, my friend here is a little... much, but I-" You get cut off by the manager. "Doesn't matter what you're about to say. You two have been loud and reckless. Not to mention you're mutants." The man adds that last part in like you wouldn't heat him.
Pietro looks from you to the man. "Excuse me?"
"Pietro, let's just leave." You say, moving your eyes to Wanda's brother. But Pietro tightens his jaw. He brought you to this place to have fun and to finally have you admit that you are head over heels for Wanda. He also wants to spend time with his friend. He's tired of people telling him what to do or not do.
So, in a lapse of better judgment, Pietro uses his super speed and, thus leading to the two of you pinned to a cop car while Peitro wears Micheals's name tag as paramedics look over the man in the polo with a bloody nose. "I didn't push him that hard," Pietro comments, making you huff as a cop tightens the cuffs on the two of you.
"You both have the right to remain silent..." The mustache'd cop behind you starts going over your Miranda Rights as you close your eyes and let the world fall to a hum around you.
What the fuck were you going to tell Wanda...
The cell door at the sheriff's station closes behind you as you and Pietro walk inside. "I still think we could've gotten away. I'm super fast." You throw your arms up and let them fall against your side. "And then what Pietro? My car would still be at the place, and they'd track the registration to the compound. Could you imagine two cops knocking on the Avengers doors!?"
Pietro noticed your voice. You're frustrated and exhausted. Uneasy as your anxiety courses through you.
Pietro looks away.
The last time you were arrested was before you joined the Avengers... Those memories are seconds away from coming back.
After a few quiet moments, you take a seat on the cold bench next to your friend. Pietro hears the deep exhale come out of you. "I'm sorry." He calmly speaks up, making you look at him. "I shouldn't have engaged or acted out." You nod. "Why did you?" You ask. Pietro shrugs but looks at you. "I was more than okay leaving, but then he said... that word a-and it made me think back to Hydra. You know they weren't exactly known for being the nicest people..." He jokes with a slight smile but is still solum with his words. "Plus, I guess. I guess I really just wanted today to be the day." Pietro looks at you, and you know what he means.
"I do like her. A lot." You speak up. Pietro smiles. "Oh god, what are we going to tell her?" You say as you lean back against the grey wall.
"Tell her?" Pietro says, making you glance at him. "We can't do that." You widen your eyes. "Are you kidding me? That's exactly what we're going to do!" You say back.
"She'll kill me!" Pietro jokingly looks scared.
"Pietro, you're lucky I haven't killed you! Besides, we're calling Wanda. I'm not about to have Cap come down here and treat us like we're children. I am not about to have Natasha scold us and make our weekly gym sessions increase. I'm calling Wanda!"
Pietro knew this was the only option as everyone else was too busy or off-world. But he still argued and pleaded. But he relented when he saw you start to shake from your nerves.
Ten minutes later, you walked back into the cell, and an officer closed it behind you.
"I think she's mad." You said. Knowing his twin, Pietro knew that if you thought Wanda was mad. Gear up because she was past mad. Pietro sighed and stood up, needing to stretch his legs. "Did you tell her it was my fault like I asked?" You nodded. "But then Wanda asked me how come I was arrested as well. I froze. I told her I pushed the man back when he tried to push me but couldn't." Pietro laughed through his nose. "Your super strength and impenetrable skin will always amaze me."
"Yeah..." You sigh. "Too bad it won't make me Wanda like me again after this." Pietro watches you sit on the bench. "I'll talk to her," Pietro affirms you, but you don't know if you want him to talk to the witch or not. But before you can say anything, you hear muffled, loud yelling coming from outside the double doors down the hall. "How did she get here already?!" Pietro asks because it makes no sense. You shake your head and shrug before the doors down the hall open, and Wanda's black boots hit the white tile floor with force.
The officer with Wanda opens the cell door without a word to either of you. When you look at his eyes, you see how red they are.
Pietro looks to you and gulps.
"Sestra-" Wanda raises her hand to Pietro. "I don't want to hear it. Let's go." Wanda starts to walk away, and as much as you shouldn't, you do, in fact, look up and down her backside. Your crush on her and her demeanor towards you in this moment makes something click inside you. Fuck.
As the three of you exit into the station lobby, you realize that everyone in the building is under Wanda's control. You glance at a monitor and watch as a red-eyed officer deletes your and Pietro's files. You look back to Wanda, who pierces you with her green eyes. A smile wants to break out on her lips, but she remains stern as she gestures for you two to pick up your belongings at the front desk. You nod, and you and Pietro grab your things—one of them including your car keys for your impounded car.
"It's out front," Wanda speaks up before you send her a gracious smile. She sees it but doesn't return one as she leads the three of you outside. Her red car is parked next to your older vehicle.
"Pietro in the car," Wanda commands her brother, who does so without wanting to be under her power. As she stops in front of her driver's side door, Wanda looks to you. She opens it before closing it and walking over to you. Her green eyes looking at yours, getting softer by the second. She then surprises you with the most Wanda thing ever. She wraps her arms tightly around you and hugs you. "It's okay." She whispers to you as you feel yourself melt into the embrace. "Wanda, I'm sorry." You feel the need to say back, but Wanda shakes her head and pulls back. "Y/n, the only thing you need to be sorry for is your choice of friends." You can't help but laugh as you wipe the corner of your eye. The last thing you needed to do was cry.
Wanda moves her hands and fingers covered in rings up and down your arms to comfort you. "Pietros has already taken the blame again and again," Wanda says, confusing you until she points to her head. "Right." You nod. Wanda smiles. "A lot of yelling in Sokovian." Wanda drags her hands down and off of your arm. You already feel the loss of her touch, but look at her eyes as they find yours. "Do you think we could talk later? After we get back to the compound?" She asks, and you feel your throat grow tighter. "Not about this!" Wanda quickly corrects your thoughts as she points to the sheriff's office. "It's just Pietro called me an idiot, and it has something to do with you."
"With me?" You find yourself questioning even though you one hundred percent know what she's getting at it. Wanda nods as a shy blush appears on her face. Wanda looks back to the car before turning to look at you. She bites her lip. "I like you. A lot." Wanda confesses after a brief moment.
You can't help but smile wide.
You nod. "I like you a lot too, Wanda." Wanda feels her heart grow warm as she hears your words. "So yeah, we can talk later?" She says, making you chuckle. "I'll see you at the compound." You reply back.
Who would've thought that to get your crush, all you had to do was get arrested?

Pretend
Bambi!Wanda x Reader
Three kids, a successful nonprofit, a loving doe for a wife. It was all so amazing. But in truth it was all very tiring too.
You and Wanda encountered a few firsts recently. Your daughter Natalie switched to bottle feeding and began trying to say her first words. It was amazing. You and your wife couldn’t be prouder or happier to say the least.
Your twin buck sons Billy and Tommy were enjoying kindergarten, alongside their best friend and wolf hybrid America who just joined their class. It was picturesque.
But you were missing special time with your doe. You missed, you yearned for the time you and her used to have together when you were younger. Not that you regret any of the amazing experiences parenthood had provided, but you wanted time with just your special doe. An idea formed in your mind and you approached your doe that evening with your amazing plan.
You approached your wife after dinner as she was cleaning the dishes. The boys were watching TV and your baby girl was dozing off in her little crib. It was all perfect.
You wrapped your arms around your mate and kissed her neck. She hummed in contentment.
“Detka” she moans.
“I want to have an affair. With you.” You quickly say.
Wanda giggles, “detka we’re married. What are you getting at?”
“We could get Natasha and Pietro to watch the kids,” you gently whisper in her ear. You begin caressing her thighs, sweetening the deal. “We can use fake names, get a hotel room. Just the two of us”
Your doe shutters at your touch. Her lips quiver at the mention of your plan.
“How soon?” She giggles.
“Friday?” You kiss her behind the ear.
“Friday” she responds with a blush. Your doe bites her lip as she goes back to her task. Her own mind finds itself racing with anticipation.
Friday had arrived. You got the reservation set and dropped the kids off with Natasha and Pietro. Your brother in law gave you a little wink as you turned to leave.
Wanda was already at the hotel. You made sure she had plenty of time to check in and get herself ready in however she wanted to. Honestly, the idea was so enticing and exciting for your bride. She even bought a couple little things for such an occasion. It made her giddy, a chance for the two of you to romance and woo one another.
You arrived at the hotel, a little swanky for your taste but Wanda really wanted to try it out. Turns out Friday night was a swanky event in the hotel’s restaurant, simply perfect timing.
You walked into the hotel in a nicely tailored suit, nothing too fancy but you knew your doe would love it.
You made your way thru the crowd trying to locate your bride as the jazz ensemble played softly.
And then you saw her. Wearing a red evening dress, makeup done, hair pinned up just right. Her antlers were shined up, gleaning like polished ivory. Her very mood portrayed that of a seductive fem-fatale from an old detective movie, your bride was just stunning. You almost couldn’t move, you were that stunned by her.
You walk up to her, trying to keep a certain level of charm on your face, “I must say, red really is your color, ma’am”
“I’m sorry,” she playfully says with a smile, “have we met?”
“I’m sure I would remember someone as beautiful as you” you respond. “Is there someone you’re waiting on?”
“No,” she stares at you seductively, “I’m here on my own accord, looking for some company”
“If it’s alright, I’d love to be some company for you,” you take the seat next to her.
“Most would be turned off by my antlers and tail” she lounges in the chair, not taking her eyes off you for a second.
“I find them quite attractive.”
“I could say the same about you.” She says, her voice dripping with the slight Sokovian accent that you loved so much. “So what brings you here tonight?”
“Maybe I’m looking for some company. Or maybe I’m here on assignment” you flirt with her.
“Oh?” She purrs. “Maybe I’m actually here to rob the rich donors scattered around here”
“International jewel thief? Funny I’m here hunting one” you retort. This little dance of words was enticing.
“Let’s save the cat and mouse for later” she grabs two drinks off a nearby tray, “let’s enjoy the moment and company”
The two of you take a sip of your drinks, however, your eyes remain locked on each other.
The band begins to play a more lively tune. “Care to dance, miss jewel thief?” You ask.
“I was hoping you’d ask,” she purrs as she gets up and sways towards you. Taking her hand, you guide Wanda out to the open dance floor. Your hand snakes around her waist and pulls her close. She lets out a little gasp.
Her hand snakes around your shoulder as the two of you begin to sway to the music.
To the best of the song, Wanda gently grinds her hips against yours. She knew exactly how to get to you.
“Spot any of your targets?” You whisper in her ear
“I spot one.” She replies with a mischievous smile, “I think I may have to get this one alone”
“Your room or mine?”
“Hmm…I don’t think your agency would cover a room here. Besides I want you all to myself” she guides her nails gently down your arm, the sensation was indescribable.
“I’ll cover the room service” you respond, earning a giggle from your mate.
She gently pulls you towards the exit of the lounge area. You follow her into the elevator and all the way up to your hotel room.
About an hour or so later, you and Wanda found yourselves lounging on the singular bed in your comfy set of PJs, the TV was playing a favorite movie of yours.
You had made love a couple times already and enjoyed each other’s company. She was the only company you ever wanted.
“I’m so glad we did this” your wife giggles.
“Oh I’m not letting you out of my sight,” you flirt with her, “can’t have you stealing some rich snob’s jewels.”
“You should’ve brought your handcuffs then” she gives you a wink.
The door knocked as you and Wanda got up, “room service” a voice called out.
You gladly answered and got your order of Chinese take out. Wanda really loved the fried rice and broccoli. The two of you took enjoying your evening with each other, just laughing and feeling like young mates again.
And then Wanda’s phone rang with a text from your pal Tony. The text read as followed: Wanda, why’d you take my watch off of me? Are you and Y/N coming back to the party?
You looked at the text and then at your mate. You had completely forgotten Tony was there too.
“Wanda?!” You asked with a little chuckle.
“I needed a reason for you to chase me?” She says with a little shrug.
Your mate, your doe, the love of your life. What would you ever do without her?

Fortunately, it's not because she'd been caught behind enemy lines or had to be restrained because of those stupid accords that nobody really cares about except Tony and Steve.
No, Wanda Maximoff is at the dentist's office.
Again.
Okay, so, she’s not strapped per se, but the patient bib she wears over her clothes certainly feels like one, especially when that chair starts to tilt back as soon as you nudge the adjustor with your foot. It's like being bound in place, just without the actual restraints.
Her lips are dry, and her heart is beating just a little too fast, but not from fear this time. It's a different sort of edginess that Wanda feels, especially when you lean in too close to her face to check her molars. Your face is just inches from hers, eyebrows strewn in concentration and eyes focused. Wanda tries to look away, but there's nowhere to look except the ceiling or into those scrutinizing eyes.
It also doesn’t help that you smell absolutely incredible. Last week, you smelled like raindrops on petals. Today, you smell like cinnamon and vanilla, and she finds both scents comforting and addicting.
“So, Wanda,” you say, your voice calm and gentle, “How have you been taking care of your teeth since the last visit?”
“Uh, fine,” Wanda tries to articulate the words properly but all that comes out is a garbled “ahhh fuh”. You don't mock her in any way; instead, you display an expert understanding of your patients' speech patterns.
“You've been brushing and flossing?”
Wanda nods.
“Good girl,” you say, and even though your smile is hidden behind the mask, she can still see it in your eyes. They crinkle at the corners, and it just sends something warm and happy in Wanda’s chest whenever she sees it.
But there’s nervousness, too.
In fact, a lot of things about you make her nervous. After all, your kind used to be the bane of her existence.
You turn away to prepare the necessary tools, and Wanda's mind starts to wander. How many patients do you see in a day? Are you always this nice and charming to them?
Are they also nervous around you? Or is it just her?
“Alright, Wanda,” you say, turning back to her, your eyes kind and understanding. “Let's get started. Just a small pinch, and you'll feel a little numb.”
She nods again, and the procedure begins.
As you work, you talk about mundane things and the new plant you acquired over the weekend. You also talk a little about the Avengers compound and the unique experiences that come with being their on-call dentist, especially with a synthezoid who insists on getting their teeth checked.
Wanda answers more freely now, her initial hesitation gone. She finds herself enjoying your company–enjoying this dental appointment, of all things–and even laughing at some of your anecdotes.
Finally, the fillings are in place, and you help her rinse her mouth.
“See?” you say, patting her shoulder. “That wasn't so bad.”
Wanda beams at you, feeling quite proud of herself. “No, it wasn't. Thank you.”
“There are still three more that might need fillings, but we can schedule that for some other time. Don’t want you to get overwhelmed,” you add with a cheeky wink that has Wanda unwittingly clutching the armchair tightly.
You carefully set your tools down on the tray, giving Wanda some room to breathe. Right then, the numbing effect of the anesthesia begins to fade and Wanda winces, her hand instinctively coming up to her jaw, fingers massaging the area where the discomfort is blooming.
Seeing her reaction, you recall the ice cream you'd thoughtfully stashed away after she’d confirmed her appointment.
“Feeling a bit tender there?” you ask, moving towards the small refrigerator you keep in the room. “I have just the thing.”
Wanda looks at you curiously as you retrieve a container of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream. Her eyes widen, and she exclaims, “How did you know this is my favorite?”
You blush as if you’ve been caught doing something you shouldn’t. You hadn't expected Wanda to notice the specific flavor of the ice cream, let alone comment on how suspiciously perfect it was that you picked her favorite.
“Well, I may have called the Avengers compound and asked around,” you say, sheepishly rubbing the back of your neck. “It was Vision–was it?–who knew. Said you always choose this one.”
You extend the tub of Cherry Garcia to Wanda, and as she takes it, your fingers briefly brush against hers. Both of you pause at the unexpected touch, a small gasp escaping her lips. You quickly shift your attention to the utensil drawer, pulling out a spoon and handing it to her. But instead of digging in immediately, she hesitates, glancing up at you.
The white mask you're wearing has kept your full face hidden throughout the appointment, and now, she'd be utterly disappointed if she never gets a peek at your face, which is partly the reason she agreed to come here in the first place.
Wanda Maximoff can’t have that. After sitting through an hour in that torture chair, she needs to be rewarded. And not just with ice cream.
“Would you... would you like to share it with me?” she asks hesitantly, trying to be subtle–
“I'd really like to see your face, just once.”
–and then failing at subtlety half a second later.
You blink, surprised at her straightforwardness, and feel a deeper blush spread across your cheeks. Her request is unconventional, yes, but it's also earnest and endearing. Slowly, you reach up and remove the mask, unveiling the smile that Wanda's been so desperate to see.
“Well, I do have quite the sweet tooth, so I couldn't possibly refuse.” you say.
You sit side-by-side on the coach, your knees touching ever so often. You occasionally find yourself pointing to Wanda's lips, indicating where she needs to wipe away the stray cream. Wanda blushes at your attentiveness, but she can't help but appreciate the caring gesture.
Wanda truly wants to prolong this moment, this unexpected opportunity to have you all to herself. But as delightful as the company is, ice cream has its own rules, and it's not much enjoyable when it's melted. So, despite her desire to make the moment stretch on, the ice cream is finished in under ten minutes.
Staring at the empty tub, the idea that she might not be the only one to experience this side of you fills her with both reassurance and a hint of envy. Wanda can't help but wonder if there's something special about the connection you share during these brief appointments, or if your comforting demeanor is simply part of being a skilled and compassionate dentist.
Either way, she wants to do something with you that would set her apart from all your other patients.
“Um, so,” she begins, fumbling with her words, her eyes darting around the room before landing on yours. “I was thinking, you know, if you're not too busy or anything, maybe we could... do this again? Not the dental part!” she quickly adds, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “I mean, maybe dinner, or a movie, or whatever you like? If you want to, of course.”
You look at her with wide eyes, mouth slightly agape, as if you're trying to catch the words that just slipped out of her mouth. Is it a date? Is it just a friendly outing? Regardless, it's not typically professional to see a patient outside of the clinic, especially one as renowned as Wanda Maximoff.
“Wanda,” you start. “You’re interesting, funny, and truly amazing.”
You watch as Wanda’s face becomes hopeful, which makes you want to strangle yourself for what you have to say next.
“But I’m sorry, I can’t. I have to consider the professional boundaries that I need to maintain.”
Wanda's eyes widen momentarily, and then she quickly masks her disappointment with a dismissive wave of her hand. “Oh, of course, I understand,” she says, her voice light, but not quite reaching her eyes. “I shouldn't have asked. It was silly of me.”
But you can see the hurt in her eyes, the way her shoulders slump just a little, the way her smile doesn't scrunch her nose the way it normally does. She's trying to brush it off, to act like it doesn't matter, but you can tell that it does.
With that, your time together draws to a close. You ask Wanda if she wants to schedule another filling for her remaining molars, but she merely shakes her head, telling you she'll have to think about it. Her eyes avoid yours, and her voice is distant, a clear indication of how your rejection has affected her.
You watch her walk away, a part of you wishing you could call her back, and another part knowing that you made the right choice.
It's the first time you experience a profound sense of loathing towards your profession as a dentist.
You wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t invite you back next year for another routine check-up.
-
Which makes your predicament the following day all the more baffling.
One second, you're tending to a tall, blonde, seemingly ordinary man in your dental chair, going through the routine motions of preparing for a check-up. You turn your back for a moment to prepare your tools, lost in thought and still reeling from yesterday's encounter with Wanda.
When you turn to face your patient again, your heart skips a beat, your hands freezing in place.
The man is no longer blonde and ordinary but bald and a striking shade of red.
In a snap, it’s another Avenger in your hands.
You clear your throat, forcing a smile as you approach the chair. “Mr. Vision,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady. “I wasn't expecting to see you here.”
Vision is ready to correct you with your use of ‘Mr.’ but then he tilts his head, deciding he likes the title next to his name.
“It's my pleasure to see you, Doctor,” he smiles at you, sitting perfectly still.
You blink at him, still trying to wrap your head around the fact that a synthezoid–one who technically doesn't even have biological teeth–is sitting in your dental chair. You can't help but wonder if this is some kind of joke or if Wanda sent him to kill you.
When you continue to stand unmoving in your position, Vision says, “I’m here for a check-up.”
Huh.
Okay?
You reach for the mouth mirror and probe, tools typically used for human patients, and hesitate for just a moment.
How exactly does one perform a check-up on a synthezoid?
Vision seems to read your uncertainty, his crystal-blue eyes meeting yours. “I assure you, I have all the components you would find in a human mouth,” he says.
You nod, beginning to understand. Gathering your focus, you proceed to perform the unusual check-up he's requesting. As you explore his mouth, you find yourself fascinated by the impeccable craftsmanship that went into creating Vision. Every tooth, every gum, is a perfect imitation of its human counterpart.
You find yourself feeling a little jealous of his orthodontic assets.
As you continue the check-up, he starts to share some stories, his voice even and clear despite your probing.
“You know, Wanda once fed an alley full of stray cats during a mission in Bucharest,” he says, a soft chuckle in his voice. “We were on a surveillance assignment, and she noticed them, all huddled together, looking hungry. Before I knew it, she had conjured up bowls of food for them all. It was quite a sight.”
You pause, caught by the image of Wanda surrounded by furry, adorable kittens. “That sounds adorable.” you reply, moving on to examine his upper molars. 'Cute' was the word on the tip of your tongue, exactly what you meant to say. But you know as well as anyone that finding a patient cute is off-limits.
He continues, “Yes, Wanda has a way with things. Once, back at the Avengers HQ, she'd make her dinner portion smaller so the guys with big appetites could eat their fill. Even Natasha, who's quite the cook, found it a stretch sometimes to satisfy the team's hunger.”
And then as he drones on about Wanda, you slowly begin to piece together what's really happening here. Vision isn't just in your clinic for a check-up.
He's talking up Wanda.
To you.
As if Wanda even needed talking up.
All you could think about was the brunette with her soulful green eyes and a smile that makes you go weak in the knees. Your heart skips a beat at the very thought of her.
But it's not just because Wanda is your patient that you rejected her. There's the awe and reverence you feel towards her as an Avenger, a symbol of justice and freedom, a hero who seems to belong to the world more than to any one person. And then there's the raw, personal part of you, still healing from a toxic relationship that ended only six months ago.
And as Vision concludes his tales of Wanda by sharing how she's the only one patient enough to show him the ropes of what being human is, you see through his carefully crafted façade.
He's here to bridge the gap, to make Wanda more accessible, more human in your eyes. He wants you to see her not just as a public figure but as a person with feelings, quirks, and simple kindnesses.
And more than that, he wants you to realize that you're an idiot for saying no to someone as wonderful as Wanda Maximoff.
“You’re not really here for a check-up, are you?” you smile at him knowingly.
Vision looks at you, his synthetic eyes almost mischievous and for a while you forget that he isn’t human.
He pauses for a moment, as if considering his next words, and then he smiles back.
“No,” he finally says, his voice carrying a hint of both humor and sincerity. “I'm not.”
He then continues, his tone turning thoughtful. “Wanda has been... sulking. For hours, locked up in her room listening to ‘Lips of an Angel’ on repeat. She told me before that I am her 'best friend,'” he says, the term slightly foreign in his mouth. “I looked up what that means, and it included helping her be happy.”
Apart from the reveal of what kind of music Wanda listens to, you feel Vision’s words tugging at your heart strings. Well, at least until he says–
“Natasha explained to me that Wanda is being, as she put it, 'emo' because she got rejected by a possible... sexual mate.”
You'd choke on your water if you were drinking one.
That's not what you expected him to say, not in the least. The sentence hits you like a left-field curveball, utterly disrupting the flow of the conversation. It's so... so... un-Vision-like, and yet, here he is, stating it as matter-of-factly as he might describe the weather.
“Given that, I would like to ask you to reconsider going out with my ‘best friend’.”
You're still coming to grips with everything that's just happened. Vision, Wanda's “best friend” here in your clinic, attempting to play matchmaker. What he's asking isn't small, but the way he's asking, the care he's shown in understanding human relationships, his concern for Wanda's feelings–it all makes you pause.
You think about what you were doing on your computer last night, googling Wanda’s name and trying to find out all you could about the young Avenger.
Finally making a decision, you look up at Vision squarely in the eye.
“Would you happen to know Wanda’s email address?” you ask, fiddling with the lapels of your white coat. “And also her phone number?”
-
“Oh, thank god,” Natasha sighs as she hears Wanda hit pause on the 46th replay of Lips of an Angel.
Yes, 46. Natasha had made Vision count, and that doesn't include the ones he missed when she urgently dispatched him to you to remediate the Wanda situation immediately.
She hears someone whistling a tune coming from the hallway and is surprised to see Vision, apparently adopting Steve's habit in his eagerness to act more human.
“Mission accomplished?” she asks, her eyes narrowing.
Vision stops whistling, a look of satisfaction in his synthetic eyes. “I believe I made some progress. Our friend has promised to think about reconsidering the decision.”
“Just think about it? You were gone quite a while for a 'maybe.'”
Vision pauses, his head tilting slightly. “I believe I was able to present Wanda in a way that may help our friend realize her feelings for her.”
“You think she has feelings for our Wanda?” Natasha's voice betrays her surprise, and she can't quite catch herself using the word ‘our’. She continues, slightly flustered, “I was thinking maybe she'd just indulge Wanda's crush for a while, then befriend her, so as not to completely shut her down.”
“I observed her vitals while telling her about Wanda, and all the signs point to yes, she has feelings for our Wanda,” Vision answers, thoughtfully echoing Natasha's use of ‘our’.
She smirks, leaning against the wall. “Well, let's hope your efforts pay off. I can't take another 46 replays of that song.”
Vision stoically considers Natasha's last statement. “Actually, Agent Romanoff, I must disagree. I could listen to another replay. Technically, it's a well-composed song.”
Natasha's face twists into a look of mock disgust. “I swear, if you start advocating for boy bands next, I'm holding Wanda personally responsible.”
“I'll consider that when expanding my musical repertoire.”
She waves a dismissive hand, still grinning. “Just don't start singing in the shower. We've got enough noise in the mornings as it is.”
-
Around the time that Wanda has just hit pause on the Hinder hit that has been playing on loop, a notification sounds off her laptop.
She quickly turns her attention to it and clicks on the email that has arrived from your clinic. Inside, there's a referral letter personally written by you, referring Wanda to another colleague of yours.
You no longer want to be her dentist, the email makes that clear. Somehow, this hurts more than your rejection of her yesterday.
Before she can fully process the referral, her phone buzzes with a call from an unknown number. She hesitates, before deciding to answer. “Hello?”
“Hi, Wanda. It’s Y/N. F-From the clinic?” you breathe out in a rush, the words tangled with your nerves. Wanda takes note of how your voice sounds over the phone–deeper and more intimate against her ear.
She takes a moment to reply, still a little thrown by the referral. “Oh, hi. I just read your email,” she says.
“Yes, about that…” You trail off, pausing as you try to find the right words. “I was thinking, instead of discussing that over the phone, maybe we could talk about it over dinner on Friday? If you're free–”
“I’d love to,” Wanda quickly accepts, her heart threatening to jump out of her chest.
You try to suppress a chuckle, grateful that Wanda can’t see your cheeks turning a rosy pink.
“Great! I'll pick you up at seven?"
“Seven it is.” Her reply is soft, almost shy. You say your goodbyes, both of you grinning to yourselves as you both hang up.
Back in her room, Wanda stares at her phone, a broad smile on her face, touching it as if it's your face.
She presses play on the song once more, not as a lament but as a triumph.
Much to Natasha’s dismay.

- TEARS ON THE GRAND PIANO
– pairing: wanda maximoff x fem!reader (mini series)
– synopsis: moving on from the only person you’ve ever loved is proving to be hard… so hard that hiring an escort seems to be the only way forward.
– warnings: a lil angst and comfort to start us off, welcome to the prologue, hope you enjoy!
2ND AUGUST 2016
All is quiet in the compound.
In the middle of the night, you find yourself seated at your piano, bathed in the soft glow of a single lamp. Your fingers move wearily across the keys, trying to breathe life into the notes of a song that has been evolving in your mind since the day you met Wanda.
The melody is your escape, a sanctuary from the weight of the Sokovian Accords and the chaos that seems to envelop your world.
Exhaustion clings to you like a heavy cloak, but the song demands to be finished. Each note is a release, a fragment of emotion woven into the fabric of the music.
Ever since that ill-fated mission in Lagos, the Avengers' world has been turned upside down. The compound, once a haven of camaraderie, now echoes with the tension born of differing opinions on the Accords. It's torn your makeshift family apart, leaving you grappling with your own stance on the matter.
It is expected of you as a super-powered member and also as the reason for Lagos being a failure. The plan had gone awry, and in the chaos, you deviated from the carefully laid out strategy. Overwhelmed by the enemy, your powers were not enough. It was Wanda who came to your rescue, a selfless act that saved your life but led to a devastating consequence.
The explosion in the building, full of innocent people, sat solid on your conscience. And now the weight of responsibility hangs heavy on your shoulders as you try to find solace in the music you create. The piano, an old friend, is both a refuge and a confidant in these trying times.
You're so engrossed in your composition that you fail to notice the subtle creak of the door as Wanda steps into the room, her silhouette framed by the dim light.
She watches you for a moment, concern etched on her face.
“Why are you still awake?" she asks, her voice soft and filled with genuine worry.
You don't immediately respond, caught in the grip of your creative trance.
"Couldn't sleep," you admit, the weariness evident in your voice. "Needed to get this out."
Wanda's gaze softens, understanding the therapeutic power of your music. But her concern doesn't wane.
"And you? Why are you up?" You inquire, curious about the restlessness that brought her into your space.
A hint of sadness crosses her features as she confesses, "I had another nightmare.”
That hasn’t happened in a while, only on a rare occurrence since she started to heal from the events in Sokovia. Her war-torn homeland.
The pain of her brother's death used to haunt her dreams frequently, the agony vivid and raw in her memory. You remember when she first told you how it felt that day, the overwhelming emptiness as she felt her brother’s life slip away as if it were her own.
That was the first time she lost control of her powers.
A surge of empathy washes over you, and you instinctively reach out to touch her hand.
"I'm sorry.” You whisper, your own exhaustion momentarily forgotten.
She manages a small smile, her eyes lighting up.
“Well, I was thinking," she begins, her tone almost conspiratorial, "maybe you could come sleep in my room tonight. You know, like a sleepover?”
You can't resist the charming plea in her eyes, even though you know it’s all fake. Laced with fear of falling asleep just to end up back in another nightmare.
Usually, the sleepover ends with her clinging onto you tightly, whatever movie you both decided on long forgotten, as she sleeps peacefully. The nightmares suddenly gone as soon as you're around.
“Alright." You agree, setting aside your messy sheets. "Lead the way, m’lady."
The piano sits in silent anticipation as you follow Wanda out of the room, leaving the notes hanging in the air.
Later into the night, you both settle into her bed, the warmth of shared dreams replace the chill of nightmares. Wrapped in the comfort of each other's presence, you both drift into a peaceful sleep, leaving the half-finished melody to linger in the stillness of the night and challenges that await with the morning sun.
That was the last time you slept with Wanda.

Tiger-Lilly
Summary: you’re staying with your auntie Yelena while Natasha is on the run after the events of the sokovian accords, you haven’t heard from her in 5 weeks, where could she be?
Word Count: 1.6k
Pairings: (Auntie!Yelena x Niece!Reader) (Mom!Natasha x Daughter!Reader)
Warnings/Content: Civil war events but following an au timeline / sad reader / happy ending
————
A few months ago, Natasha left home. After the events of the sokovian accords, she had to go into hiding until it was safe for her to return, it was the hardest decision she’d ever had to make. Leaving her friends behind after watching them fall apart broke her heart but nothing could’ve prepared her for the devastation of leaving her daughter behind, leaving you behind. Two weeks after escaping the red room with Yelena, Natasha found out she was pregnant. The sisters had managed to make it out before the graduation ceremony. If the ex widows hadn’t met the team and joined S.H.I.E.L.D you wouldn’t be here, they saved all three of you. Growing up in the compound was the greatest gift of your life, you loved all your family, but your mommy was by far your favourite.
Yelena decided not to become an avenger but became an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D and soon reached the highest rank of all the agents. Because of that, your auntie wasn’t involved in the downfall of the superhero’s so Natasha decided it would be safe to leave you with Yelena. The accords didn’t intertwine with S.H.I.E.L.D so Natasha trusted her sister and Nick to keep you safe and prayed that no government agents would come after you. It was hard to explain to a 4 year old that her mommy had to go into hiding, especially to a child as close to their mother as you were to Natasha. Your mom held you tight as she said goodbye, explaining that this wouldn’t be forever and that she had to do this. You cried yourself to sleep the night Natasha left and it was the longest journey of your mom’s life.
Today marked three months since Nat left and you were having a difficult day. It was fun staying at auntie Yelena’s house and under different circumstances you would’ve been having a blast, but not knowing where your mommy was or when you would see her again weighed heavily on your mind everyday. It was Yelena’s day off and she had tried everything to get you to smile, even just for a moment. You were currently sat on your bed, your auntie reading you a story. “Why don’t you take a turn at reading tiger-Lilly?” Yelena asked. “No” you whined as you crawled under the covers. All of your family called you tiger-Lilly, it came from your middle name Lilly and your favourite animal being a tiger. You loved all kinds of cats, Lions, Panthers, Leopards, Jaguars, Cheetahs and domestic cats but your favourite of all was the tiger.
You cuddled up with your tigger stuffy under the duvets (obviously tigger was your favourite character, he was a tiger after all.) Yelena huffed quietly under her breath, not wanting you to know that she was struggling too. Natasha sent letters when she could, each time she moved location to avoid being tracked. The last letter had been delivered over 5 weeks ago and Yelena was going out of her mind with worry. She pushed her feelings to one side and gently stamped her feet across the floor “did you hear that?” She asked, feigning her anxiety. Yelena rose to her feet and used her hands to pad across the mattress “uh oh!” She cried “I think it’s the tickle monster tiger-Lilly!” your auntie yelled as she began to tickle you above the sheets.
You popped your head out from the covers and shuffled away from Yelena “stop it!” You yelled, pushing her away. “I don’t want you I want mommy!” You cried. Yelena froze in her place, surprised by your outburst. “Go away I don’t want you!” You screamed, tears streaming down your face. “I’m sorry sweetie” Yelena said as she sat down beside you unsure what to do. “Go away!” You sobbed once more, pushing against your aunties frame. Yelena sat helplessly and watched you cry. She took a step back when you cried out loudly, kicking your little feet against the mattress. “I’ll be outside” Yelena stuttered as she walked towards your bedroom door, giving you the space she figured you needed.
You continued to cry in your aunties absence, twisting and pulling at your duvet covers. Outside, Yelena slowly slipped down the door muffling her own sobs behind her fists. “Mommy” you cried out into the empty room, breaking Yelenas heart even more. Yelena wanted so desperately to run in and scoop you up in her arms, but she knew you needed to let everything out. It was when you began coughing roughly that your auntie knew she had to go back into your room. “Y/n?” She softly called as she pushed open the door “deep breaths sweetie, here take some sips of your water” she said as she passed you your water bottle.
You gulped down the water, trying to rid the ache in your throat. “Easy sweetheart, small sips okay” Yelena said and you eased up. When the water was all gone, you followed your aunties breathing, bringing yours back to a steady rhythm. “I’m sorry” you whispered, looking up at Yelena through teary eyes. “It’s okay tiger-Lilly, I know you just miss mommy, but next time you get overwhelmed you come and tell me alright” Yelena said, you nodded shyly, feeling guilty for your outburst. “Hey” Yelena said as she lifted your chin up “it’s ok, it’s all ok no one’s angry with you, I’m not angry with you” she said.
You and Yelena cuddled up again until you finally fell asleep, peacefully snoring against your aunties frame. When she was sure you were deeply asleep, Yelena slid out from underneath you and made her way downstairs. It was late but the blonde had no intention of sleeping anytime soon. The hours raced by as Yelena sat at the kitchen island with her warm coffee. Silence filled her house and Yelena basked in the comfort of it. The silence was interrupted by a soft click from the front door. Anyone else would’ve dismissed it, but being a spy, Yelena perched up at the sound.
Peering over her shoulder, Yelena looked directly at the door, eyes glued on the handle that was now shaking. Quickly, she made her way around the kitchen and switched off the overhead light. The agent shuffled along the wall towards a small cupboard, opening it slowly and reaching underneath to peel away a gun taped along the top. The door was pushed open and soft footsteps fell across the tiled floor. Yelena prepared herself for a fight, she was exhausted but you were just upstairs and there was no way she was going to let you get hurt. Placing her gun in front of her with outstretched arms, Yelena listened closely at the footsteps came up beside her. A shadow rounded the corner, mirroring Yelena’s position with a gun before them. The blonde froze when she locked eyes with the body behind the weapon.
You shifted gently as you began to wake up, your throat dry due to your earlier meltdown. You reached for your water bottle, frowning slightly when you remembered that it was empty. Pulling the covers away slowly, you shuffled down off your bed, setting out on a mission to find your auntie. You figured she had gone to bed in her own room so that was where you went first. Finding the bedroom empty you thought carefully about where she could be. You heard a quite whisper from downstairs and slowly made your way down towards the kitchen.
Waddling slowly, you rubbed your eyes roughly as you entered the kitchen “auntie Yel” you said holding out your water bottle. You were confused when she didn’t reply, blinking your eyes a few times adjusting to the light of the room. You looked over to the kitchen island and paused in your movements when you saw not one person, but two. Your eyes began to water as you looked at the second figure “mama” you whispered. “My baby” Natasha exclaimed as she ran towards you, kneeling down to your level and wrapping you up in the softness of her arms.
You sobbed so loudly at the relief of finally having your mom back, you gripped onto her so tightly, afraid she would disappear again. “Mommy” you cried into her shoulder “I’m here baby, mommy’s home now” Natasha said as she lifted you both up from the floor. Yelena smiled at the sight of the two of you back together again and excused herself so that you could be alone. Natasha was swaying softly with you in her arms, not planning to let you go anytime soon. “Oh my tiger-Lilly, I’ve missed you so much, I’m so sorry I had to leave you” she cried.
You pulled yourself impossibly closer to your mom, her voice soothing you. “I missed you more mommy you sobbed, gulping in your breaths. She didn’t want too, but Natasha set you back down on the floor, resting eye level with you. “Hey, hey, deep breaths sweetie, I’m here” she said as she brushed her hands through your hair. You copied your mom’s breathing, finding a gentle rhythm once again. Natasha lent forward to place a soft kiss on your forehead “look at you” she said as she held your face in her hands “you’ve gotten so big!” She smiled. “Y/n I promise you I’ll never leave you ever again. Being away from you was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, I love you so much baby girl” Natasha said. “I love you too mommy” you smiled through your teary eyes, launching forwards into Natasha’s awaiting arms.

I was scrolling through the anti-Sokovian accords tag and I was thinking.
Imagine if Erik Lehnsherr were in CA: CW. He wouldn't need to use his powers; all he would need to do is pull his sleeve up and show the numbers that stripped him of his identity when he was a young boy.
He would look Tony and Ross dead in the eyes and say. "I dare you to tell me that silly document of yours isn't similar to the ones that stripped my people of their dignity and lives. I dare you to tell me what happened to me isn't going to happen to my Wanda."
Or Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson who would read the absolute filth out of Tony and Ross and pull out a printed version of the accords, scribbled with a red pen that points out every human rights violation.
Or Bruce Banner who would say to Tony "Did you forget what he (Ross) did to me?"
I'm 100% with you but I fear if the Russos were in charge of Erik, they would find a way to blame him and pin it all on him.
They were so focused on trying to convince the audience that the Accords were a good thing that they showed the exact opposite. It's kind of a weird "show, don't tell" that shows one thing while the movie is telling you another.
And the worst part of it is that IW proves they meant nothing when it comes to the Avengers... but what about everyone else? Like when Steve and Nat break their pals out of the Raft. What about all the other inmates (or should I call them hostages? "Imprisonment without a trial", as per the Accords literal words)? Like when we're told about Zemo being held there... The guy is a nazi but was he tortured too? Like Sam was? Like Wanda? When not a single movie or series ever mentions that, not even in passing?
That's the whole issue with fascism. They dehumanise a group of people and tell you it's okay, hell we're seeing it nowadays. So in a good movie, Erik would bring that up, Wanda would talk about Sokovia, Sam could bring up racism, Steve about immigration... But that's not what CW wanted to do.
CW stayed in the same lane as all the other movies that defend Stark, blame Fury in the same breath they sanctify Peggy Carter and justify and sympathize with Thanos while laughing and literally slapping Thor in the face. Not even TWS is free of this.
I suppose some of us made the mistake of thinking a superhero franchise would be on the heroes side. But the MCU proved time and time again that they're not.

Let's Talk About That
Can we just stand still? (5)
Psychiatrist!Avenger!Fem!Reader x Wanda Maximoff
Warnings: This chapter deals with the bombing scene that happens during CACW.
Word count: 2.7K
A/N: Things are about to get angsty from here, so you better buckle up everyone!
May 21st 2016
Your day had started off like any other. You woke up in your room where Wanda had stayed with you. It had become a common occurrence for the two of you to spend the night in each other's room. You gave her a soft kiss on the cheek before slipping out of bed. Wanda stirred only slightly as she readjusted herself, taking in a deep breath before letting it out as she settled in once more making you smile before heading off to take a shower and get your day started.
By the time you were getting dressed about an hour later, Wanda stirred awake. Sitting up with messy bedhead and rubbing her sleep filled eyes she still managed to look beautiful. You smiled as you made your way over, kissing the top of her head.
“Good morning krasivaya(beautiful).” You knew several languages before meeting Wanda, Russian included, and she promised some day to help you learn Sokovian. She beamed a still sleep filled smile up at you.
“Good morning. Are you off to work?” She asks, looking over your appearance.
“Yes sweet girl I've got an early appointment with Sam today. He wanted to switch his appointments to before his morning training.” Wanda simply nods and leans against your stomach, breathing in your scent.
“I'll see you later, right?” She asks looking up at you.
“Of course, sweet girl. We'll see each other for dinner and sitcoms, okay?” you reassure her.
“Okay I'll see you then.” She's smiling once more and pulling you down into a kiss before she lays back down and gets all comfy as she grabs her phone for some morning wake up time as you exit the room.
It was just past noon. You had already done a few sessions for the day and just finished eating lunch. You'd been working on going over the notes for the next session of the day so you knew where you had left off last time with them. Though you were interrupted by Natasha coming through your door.
"Y/N, I need you to come with me." Natasha states. You sigh, looking up from your work, pushing your glasses up.
"What is it? I thought you were getting ready for Vienna?" You asked with a bit of venom. You haven't been talking since she decided she was on Tony's side and would be the representative for going to sign the accords on behalf of the Avengers.
"I was, something else has come up. A bit of an emergency. Steve is already there." She tells you and you shoot up from your seat.
"I'll be ready in 10." You tell her. Hurrying out of your office to go find Wanda.
"Hey sweetie what's up?" She asks when you barge into her room.
"Nat is taking me on an emergency mission. Apparently Steve is already headed out. I don't know how long I'll be gone for. I didn't have time to ask." You take three big strides towards her, wrapping her up into your arms. "I love you." You tell her.
"I love you too. Be safe." She says back. The two of you share a kiss and if you had known that would be the last time you'd get to kiss her you would have never let her go.
======================================================
The urgency in Natasha's demeanor was palpable as you swiftly made your way to the rendezvous point. You couldn't shake the feeling of unease gnawing at your gut, a foreboding sense of impending danger hanging heavy in the air.
As you boarded the Quinjet with Natasha and soared through the skies towards your destination, your mind raced with possibilities, each one more ominous than the last. You couldn't help but worry about Wanda, her safety and well-being weighing heavily on your mind. The last thing you had wanted was to leave her right now while the team was in shambles from fighting on opposite sides. A civil war brewing just under the surface of the cold war that was currently taking place. Both sides ready, but neither willing to make the first move yet.
Natasha remained stoic beside you, her focus unwavering as she piloted the aircraft with practiced ease. You admired her composure, her ability to maintain her resolve even in the face of uncertainty.
The minutes stretched into hours as you flew towards your unknown destination, the tension in the air palpable. With each passing moment, your concern for Wanda grew, a knot of worry tightening in my chest.
May 22nd 2016
As you finally touched down and prepared to embark on your mission, you couldn't shake the feeling of dread that lingered in the pit of your stomach. Whatever awaited you on the other side, you knew that you would do whatever it took to ensure the safety of those you cared about, no matter the cost.
Natasha took you to a safe house. Made you get dressed in a nice suit, while she slipped into a dress. Both of you in black. She grabbed the two of you a rental car and before you knew it you were in front of a church. "Tasha? What are we doing here? This looks like a funeral." You state.
"That's because it is. Peggy Carter. Steve's first love all the way back from his days before being a super soldier. I figured he'd need us as a support system." Normally you'd be mad that Tasha didn't just tell you outright, especially with everything going on, but she's right. He does need you two. So you simply nod and get out of the car. Looking like another set of people Peggy had met over the years.
As you entered the church, a solemn atmosphere enveloped you, the air heavy with grief and reverence. You couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as you thought of Peggy Carter, a woman whose legacy loomed large in the lives of those she had touched. Funerals were never a good place for you. Too much emotion that you could feel from every direction, making you feel sick and overwhelmed.
Steve stood near the front of the church, his expression a mask of sorrow as he greeted mourners and offered his condolences. Your heart ached for him, knowing the depth of his loss and the pain he must be feeling.
Natasha and you quietly make your way towards him, offering our support in the only way you knew how. You stood by his side, wordless gestures of solidarity as you paid our respects to Peggy and mourned her passing.
In that moment, amidst the somber surroundings and the weight of your grief, you felt a sense of unity with your teammates, a bond forged through shared trials and tribulations. Together, you would weather this storm, drawing strength from each other as you faced the challenges that lay ahead.
After the funeral you talked with Steve and Tasha asked you to stay with her as her body guard of sorts. Obviously with the Accords signing there could be trouble from anyone or anything. You really didn't want to since you were against signing them, but Steve urged you as well. Safety in numbers and telling you, "Nat is doing what she thinks is right. You're doing what you think is right, but she's still your best friend." You wanted to argue because let's face it. You're 20 and she's 31 she shouldn't be your best friend, but over the time of being in the Avengers she had become your best friend with movie nights, girl time, shopping trips, dinners, sleepovers. It didn't make sense, but it also somehow did.
So you agreed to go with her. You sat in front with her this time, not knowing how to fly, but just watching and admiring her. "I can teach you some day." She mentions when she notices you watching.
"Oh no I don't...I'd rather not. I don't even have my regular license." You remind her.
"We should fix that too." Tasha says.
"It scares me." You admit and Tasha chuckles.
"You've gone against monsters and aliens and gods and that's what scares you?" She asks and you nod. "You're something else, little bee." You smiled at your nickname she had given you after she found you watching a documentary about bees and you were crying over how bumblebees shouldn't be able to fly because of how fat they are. "You're thinking about the bees again aren't you?"
"They're so fat!" You cry out and she laughs.
"You're the cutest, you know that right?" She tells you and you feel your face heat up.
"What? No...no not me..." you can see her smirk, but she doesn't press me further.
=============================
You were at the Accords meeting as you stayed close to Tasha. She talked with T'Challa for a bit. You told him if he needed to talk to someone he could always call and have a virtual session with you. He gave a polite smile and thanked us. Tasha and you headed to your seats towards the back of the room. When you sat your leg started bouncing like crazy which you didn't notice until she put a hand on it. Your head snapped to her hand and then to her face.
"I know things like this aren't your thing. You prefer to stay behind the scenes, but I appreciate you being here. More than you understand." She speaks softly and before you can respond the meeting is starting. T'Challa's father T'Chaka, is speaking, thanking the Avengers. As he carries on the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, you get goosebumps and without a second thought you throw up a force field around the floor as T'Challa calls out, "Everybody get down!" and an explosion goes off. Even with your force field you still end up grabbing and holding Tasha as if your small frame would protect her.
"Are you okay?" You ask her first.
"I'm fine."
"Is everyone okay?" You called out. Most people are but the explosion still rocked the building. People had stumbled or got pushed away by your force field. You can only make it so big. "I need all available medics and fire to the scene now!" You call through the ear piece you were given earlier in the day.
As chaos erupted in the aftermath of the explosion, Natasha and you found yourselves caught in the flurry of activity. Despite the adrenaline coursing through your veins, your focus remained steadfast on ensuring Natasha's safety.
"I'm fine," she reassured you, her voice steady despite the chaos surrounding us.
Relieved by her response, you quickly surveyed the scene, calling out for assistance and coordinating with emergency responders through the earpiece. The force field you had instinctively erected provided a barrier of protection, but you knew that the situation remained volatile.
"We need to get out of here," Natasha urged, her eyes scanning the room for any signs of danger.
Nodding in agreement, you took her hand and guided her towards the nearest exit, maintaining a vigilant watch for any potential threats. The air was thick with tension as you navigated through the chaos, the weight of the unfolding events pressing upon us.
Once outside, you breathed a sigh of relief, the cool air offering a brief respite from the chaos within. But even as you moved to a safer location, you knew that the danger was far from over. With the Accords meeting descending into chaos, the fragile peace you had hoped to achieve seemed to slip further from your grasp.
As emergency responders rushed to the scene, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled over you. The events of the evening had underscored the precarious nature of our existence as Avengers, and the challenges that lay ahead seemed daunting.
But amidst the uncertainty, one thing remained clear: you would do whatever it took to protect those you cared about, no matter the cost. And as you stood by Natasha's side, facing an uncertain future, you knew that your bond would be your greatest strength in the days to come.
Tasha held a cold Gatorade against my face, "Here. Drink." It was my favorite flavor which means she had brought it with her. You smile and take it, after a few gulps she hands me a baggie filled with your favorite after mission snacks, ones that help me replenish your energy.
"You packed this with you?"
"Of course. I always do. Just in case."
"Why?"
"Y/N. You always take care of us and sometimes you forget about your own self-care. It's okay because I'll remind you and help pick up the slack." Tasha smiles at you and you smile back.
"You know, through everything going on...I'm still so thankful that I took the job when Tony offered it. I never wanted to be an Avenger. It just fell in my lap. All I ever wanted was to just be a psychiatrist. To help people. I know I'm still doing that, but it's not what I had envisioned for my future, ya know?" She wraps an arm around your shoulder, holding you close.
"I know. I'm glad you're here with me. Through all of this. You'll stay with me right?" She asks. You take in a shaky breath. You consider it, but you remember Wanda back at home waiting.
"But...Wanda..."
"She's safe. She's at the compound." Tasha says and you nod. You want to say no, but you don't think you've ever said no to Tasha. Especially not when she needs you.
"I can stay, I just...can I call Wanda? Let her know I'm okay? I'm sure this is all over the news by now." Tasha hands me the phone and you call the familiar number.
"Y/N!? Please tell me you're okay!?" She cries through the phone.
"I'm fine, baby girl. Don't worry. Tasha and I are safe. So are most people who were on the floor. I threw up my force field. I know I didn't get everyone in time, but I saved a lot more who would have died." You run your fingers through your hair. Tasha's hand on your back.
"Are you coming home?" She asks and you sigh.
"I can't. Tasha and I haven't gotten the okay. I don't know when I'll be back. I'm sorry baby girl." Your heart breaks as she talks.
"I'll be fine here. Just...be safe. Please. I mean it this time." Her voice is cracking and you can tell she's crying.
"I will, I promise. I have to go. Just stay at the compound, it's the safest place, okay?"
"Yes Doctor." You give a small smile.
"I love you." The line cuts before she can reply. Your hand drops as you stare at the ground.
"Everything okay?"
"She didn't say I love you back...she just hung up..." Tasha pulls you back in for a hug.
"I'm sorry sweetie. Maybe she didn't realize you said it." You decided to listen to Tasha instead of letting your mind wander.
As Natasha comforted you, her words offering a soothing balm to your troubled thoughts, you tried to push aside the hurt and uncertainty gnawing at your heart. Despite the chaos of the evening, her unwavering support provided a beacon of stability in the tumultuous aftermath.
Taking a deep breath, you focused on the present moment, allowing yourself to be enveloped by Natasha's reassuring presence. She had always been there for you, a steadfast ally in the face of adversity, and you knew that you could rely on her to see you through even the darkest of times.
With Natasha by my side, you felt a renewed sense of strength and determination, a reminder that you were not alone in facing the challenges that lay ahead. And as you awaited further instructions, you resolved to remain vigilant, ready to confront whatever obstacles may come your way.
Amidst the uncertainty and turmoil, one thing remained clear: no matter the trials you faced, you would continue to stand by Natasha's side, trusting in your bond to carry you through the storm. And as you leaned into her embrace, you found solace in the knowledge that together, you would weather whatever challenges the future may hold.

Summary: After the accords, you ran and didn't want to risk Nat's whole life just on one mistake.. 2 years later when thanos is needed to be taken down, you are reunited..

"We almost made it," that was it.
That was the last thing you'd told Natasha Romanoff as you left the compound.
You could see through the reflection of the glass how she was failing at holding herself together. How she was breaking down and Tony held her. You wanted to turn around, but you couldn't. You wanted to shout at yourself..
Yet, the choices were limited. You had no choice but to run, they wanted you dead after the sokovian accords. You'd done too much damage. And now Ross was sending a swarm of agents after you.
She begged you to perhaps stay, try and 'work it out', in her words. You wouldn't, couldn't do that. When she asked if she could come, you'd almost contemplated it. Almost asked, almost said yes.
You'd both just disappear.. That was until you'd stopped swarming in that stupid reality. You wouldn't risk Natasha's own lifestyle. Not after everything. You loved her. The saddest part was you never got to tell her that. No, all you did was look her in the eyes as you tried not to cry, your voice breaking.
Saying that final line broke you. Now 2 years had passed and you had to go back. Apparently you were needed, war was coming. 2 years yet you'd never stopped thinking of her.
2 years of wallowing in self-pity and anger at yourself. You half regretted your decision, but you felt it was the right call to make. You wouldn't have endangered the one person who meant more to you than life itself.
You looked around the compound, it hadn't changed. Well scarcely anyway, Tony seemed to have added perhaps a couple more ornaments and god knows what. But, apparently other than that nothing had changed. Aside from the people residing there.

None of you would have gotten by these past 2 years without enough trauma for a lifetime of therapy. Not one single person who'd be standing in this room would get by without thinking of that war. That one fucking mistake. And for what?
It was stupid and pathetic really. The world's mightiest hero's crash and break at a booklet of paper. Funny really, how words on a page can break a bond you have in years.
"Wanda," you smiled tried to shake any on coming thoughts.
She practically ran to you, engulfing you into a tight embrace holding you to her. You knew she needed it just as much as you did. While her and vision ran towards the edge of scotland, residing there for a time, she hadn't seen your face in so long.
You could tell Wanda was tired, exhausted even. Not just from the deep cut that went from the tip of her forehead across her eyebrow. That did however make you curious, but from her eyes and her posture.
You'd been the one to encourage her with vision and been the one to get her out of her room on endless days of loneliness. She'd bury herself in her thoughts, so you did all you could to drag them out. You became her best friend, her anchor she turned to.
"I missed you," you mumbled into her shoulder.
"I missed you too, where did you go?" She smiled softly, but it was strained.
Truth be told, you didn't keep in contact with any of them. So when Steve reached out managing to find you, you were at a loss. You didn't even want to go, but you had to.
"It's amazing to see you again, but she's going to want answers," Steve said from behind you.
You turned quickly on your heels and he offered a squeeze of the shoulders for affection. She...
He was right and frankly, he didn't even need to say who she was.. Nobody did, because they all knew. Trying to shake off the feeling of dread and utter fear, you shook your head to clear thoughts away, before responding to Wanda's question.
"Here and there, I didn't sit still for long. Not with Ross trying to hunt me down, not really. I couldn't afford to. I went to Budapest, Hungary, Spain, so many places," you explained.
If you were honest it sounded amazing when you worded it like that. They spoke of how you seemed happy, but if only they knew. You could have been happy if you had everything you needed... everyone.
"Right do we have all we nee-" the voice entering the room came to a sudden halt, a rather chilling one.
Her voice was always softer when she had spoken to you. It was always more relaxed, less guarded. You hadn't heard her in so long. Felt her, touched her, melted into her.. Your Natasha Romanoff, well what was yours. She is no longer and that hurt to think.
Slowly, you turned in the direction of the voice and by gods if you could see tension in a room physically, this was it. It was the definition as the air became thick and almost unbearable.
Your eyes connected with her own and for the first time in 2 years you saw her once more. Her green orbs were as the hue of the new spring growth, bright and soft all at once. There were flecks of strength, of the kind of green that comes only as summer advances. Yet there were flecks of darkness, of anger and hurt.
You knew why, you weren't stupid. There was unspoken words, unspoken truths, lies and anger that needed to be heard, needed to be told. Her hair was shorter now and dyed blonde.
It suited her, you could still see what used to be your own Nat. Her eyes flickered down over you, examining you. You almost laughed knowingly. She was checking over you for injuries. Even now, even after everything she was still making sure you were okay.
Had you been in different circumstances, you'd have approached her. Had it been a different time and different place you'd have ran into her arms and sobbed, making sure she's okay. But it wasn't, so you couldn't. Yet, you couldn't resist the one statement.
"I'm okay," you smiled softly trying not to let your emotions get the better of you.
Her eyes flickered once more, emotions running through them before they went cold. Almost black, her green eyes that you loved, still love almost gone. And your heart throbbed with pain and fear.
"So you are."
The coldness in her tone, almost made you fall back and onto the floor. You deserved it, even if you did it to protect her, because you loved her. No, because you still love her. God, you wished you had said.
Sensing the tension and the pain that was flickering between you and Natasha, Tony interrupted whatever was going on. Allowing the room to relax once more.
"So what are you saying," he continued as this debate had been going on for 20 minutes.
They'd been discussing strategies on Thanos, on the oncoming war and the future of the worlds as a whole. You wanted to listen, you wanted to pay attention. But you wanted her more than anything.
She hadn't looked at you all meeting. Well, actually that was the opposite, but she'd always pretend otherwise. Whenever she thought you weren't looking you felt her gaze hit your own.
It was unnerving if you were honest. The moment you looked her way, she'd be looking down, or attempting to focus on what Tony said. It was physically painful, you could swear you felt your heart shatter every time. Yet, again you knew you deserved it.
You knew everyone in the room was aware of the awkward situation between the two of you, but none dared mention it. It was also obvious to you that nether you nor Natasha were honestly focusing on whatever was happening.
All too suddenly, or perhaps a while after- you weren't focusing on the time, Tony stood up abruptly. He grumbled that the meeting was over, before storming out the room.
Himself and Steve had been ranting and debating over working together or not, it was painfully obvious the team wasn't a team. Not after the accords, there was so much unspoken truths in the room. That was excluding your own awkward encounter with Natasha.
You felt the heavy tension drifting about the room, not only because of your arrival and the unspoken and needed conversation between yourself and Nat that needed to take place, but because of the breaking point of the team itself.
You found yourself letting out a heavy sigh, your eyes drifting shut and body flexing out of stress and utter exhaustion. You were tired from the fighting, the team and the world. You just wanted to rest, but that wasn't possible. Being an Avenger, being an agent nobody got to rest.
You then glanced over at Natasha, feelings of guilt and sadness succumbing over your mind poisoning you from the inside out. Her eyes moved up from the table connecting with your own and darkened instantly. She didn't look at you anymore, she looked at her enemy. All she saw was just a painful fragment of what could of been and you hated yourself for it.
"So Y/N/N, hows things been," Scott said trying to cut the tension.
In reality you could tell this was going to go wrong within seconds. How were you supposed to respond to that? If you said you thought nothing but of how you missed Natasha that would be awkward and you'd need the ground to swallow you up. On the other hand if you said it was amazingly she'd only have more to confirm that she'd hate you, only giving her more reason to do so. So you settled for the most easiest of responses.
"Oh you know, it was fine," you shrugged not wanting to expand on your answer.
A heavy sigh and a scoff caused you to look at the source of the noise, allowing your breath to catch in your throat. Natasha flung the chair she was sat in back stomping heavily out of the room only glancing swiftly at you with anger in her eyes, in her face. All towards you.
You swallowed the steady rising of bile down and played with your fingers. You looked at Wanda who held a sympathetic gaze to which you felt sick to see right now. You didn't deserve sympathy, you didn't deserve Natasha nor any love. You were only trying to protect her. Only trying to stop her from being tagged along in your shit, you couldn't drag her down with you.
Wanda however gave you another knowing look, the look of she wanted to speak or talk with you alone. Perhaps simply enjoy your company and you weren't one to turn it down. Therefore, you yourself found your body unconsciously standing your feet padding softly out the room.
That's how you found yourself now, feet curled up on the couch under your body as you watched Wanda's favourite sitcom. She'd made you some food and snacks just like old times and your heart swelled.
When you first came to the compound, besides Natasha, Wanda was the first to make you feel okay. She was the first to check on you, hear your sobs and fears. She saw you and you saw her. Wanda was the sister and best friend you never had. At first, Natasha got the wrong idea thinking you two were flirting and dancing around something, causing a strain in your relationship. Until one day you found yourself trapped between herself and the wall, her lips only on yours, her hands only on your body. She saw you and could feel only you.
A sigh left your lips at the memory dancing between your thoughts, a reminiscent of only what could have been. Perhaps you should have let her come, should have let her stay rather than only saying that you almost made it. Seeing her break over you as you stood there so simply and silently leaving her poisoned your insides.
Wanda glanced over at you, squeezing your shoulder slightly. She didn't know what to say, but she knew you still loved her. She knew she still loved you. She just threw her anger her hatred towards you instead, because breaking ones heart always does illicit an unspeakable anger through your veins.
"You should go to her," she whispered into the silent air.
Your body tensed up at the direction of this conversation, not too content on talking of it. You knew you had to though, you couldn't dodge and dance around the unspoken forever.
"She hates me," you said with such certainty it was almost like she'd verbalised it herself.
Yet, Natasha didn't need to tell you she hated you. You could see the anger, the hatred, the venom in her body language. The way she couldn't bare to look at you anymore, your presence only sickening the older woman.
"She doesn't hate you, she still loves you," she urged on causing yourself to scoff.
"Nat cannot even bare to look at me Wands," you stated sadly.
"She just is hurt, it was like before, remember? She thought we were a thing she had to fuck you senseless just to understand you have always been hers," she chuckled causing a laugh to escape your own lips as you smacked her lightly on the shoulder.
She was always one to be so forward going and blunt, it's one of the things you loved about Wanda. It's what drove you to open up so much to her so quickly and without fear. She wouldn't judge and nether would you.
As if the universe hated you further, suddenly Wanda nudged you as your head turned around to look behind you. The laughter between the pair of you died down as you saw Natasha standing there a look of pain crossing her eyes. For one moment she looked so hurt and so lost you wanted to cry, until her posture changed and she simply rolled her eyes crossing the room to get a snack and storming off once more.
"Go after her," Wanda insisted standing up to drag yourself up.
"But," you began but she cut you off instantly.
Wanda pushed you towards the direction that Natasha had gone urging you swiftly to follow. Your body wasn't too content on going but your mind knew otherwise. You had to go after her. You needed to.
"You need to go to her, so do it," she said firmly looking at you.
You didn't argue with her. Only nodded with certainty and understanding. You spun back in the direction the older woman had stormed off in and began to jog down the hall.
The distinct red hair of Natasha came into view. Her hair was braided into a long ponytail, draping down her back and even facing the back of her she looked utterly beautiful. She always had done and always will do.
"Natasha," you breathed out loud enough for her to hear it.
However she only sped up her movements clearly trying to avoid a confrontation or any sort of communication with you. Like hell were you having that.
Natasha made a beeline for her room and you practically sprinted down the hall this time and just before she shut the door, your foot halted it. You jammed your foot there causing her to grunt in annoyance.
"Move," her voice held no place for argument and no place for discussion.
Yet you didn't care anymore. She was the person you wanted the person you felt and you would be damned if you lost her again.
"We need to talk," you urged desperately.
"No we don't," she grunted but you could hear the waver in Nat's voice. You could hear her.
"Please Natalia," using the one name you knew would hit her. She hated it but she loved when it slipped past your lips.
Stepping back she fell onto her bed, emotions overcoming her Natasha tried to keep her tough composure as much as she could. She tried to keep herself in hold but you could see her. You saw her entirely.
"What needs to be said exactly?" She said through gritted teeth trying to keep her anger at bay.
"We need to talk about it.. Us," you were apprehensive to state that and she laughed bitterly rolling her eyes.
"There is no us Y/N. You made that clear the day you sauntered off leaving me like it meant nothing. Like we meant nothing." She spat out pain laced within her tone.
"You think I wanted to just leave you? You think it was easy for me," you exclaimed anger now building up inside you.
Her anger you understood slightly, but she was acting like you never loved her. She was acting like you never cared. All those nights staying awake for her, that meant something.
"You left me standing there. You're a coward. That's what it was. Damn, you're weak actually. All those nights I spent caring for you I wish I never did," she said and your eyes widened in shock.
You stumbled back as though she had just punched you in the gut. It felt like the world had crashed down on you heavily and you couldn't breathe. The tears tracked down your face heavily and your throat swelled up as your eyes became glassy and your vision hard to see through the tears.
"I left you because I loved you. Because I wanted you safe. I know, I know how it looked when I left but I knew if I looked at you, if I cracked slightly you'd come within a heartbeat. I would've, I still fucking would done anything for you. I looked at you and I didn't see a Russian Spy. I didn't see the black widow, I didn't see a villian. I saw Natalia Alianovna Romanoff. Now I see a fragment of what we were, I see nothing but pain," you said as you refrained sobs.
You now dared to look at the woman who was once your world, who still is in your mind and she looked remorseful. She looked shocked, but most of all she looked broken. For once in months you saw the Natasha you first encountered when you entered the compound the one you were determined to help, to love and to feel. She saw you and you saw her.
You went to leave but it was as though something snapped inside of her, a coil turned and the wire snapped within her as she clasped your arm causing you to tense and freeze. Her touch elicited warmth within you, a feeling you'd been deprived of for so long running through your veins once more. You turned to look at her now seeing her own face painted with tears as they continued to pour down. Yet all you saw was beauty. All you saw was Natalia.
"Stay," her voice was hoarse with emotion and your body couldn't help but react to it. Your mind was stronger though.
"Why," you felt your voice speak before you thought.
She looked you dead in the eyes, only now could you see the anger wasn't there. No, pain no judgment. Just love and lust. Just Natasha.
"We didn't almost make it. We did make it and I love you. Please stay, please let it be enough," she begged you like the first time.
You weren't sure who moved first and who acted first but your lips collided as one, hands clawing all over each other as you fell back towards the bed. You did what she wanted. You stayed and Natasha appeared determined to show you just how much she loved you.
"You stayed," she whispered as her tongue brushed the roof of your mouth begging for access that you hungrily allowed.
Tongues clashed together, begging for dominance but as she flipped you over so she was on top it was clear who won the battle. She'd always win and you'd always let her. Her hands raked down your body undressing you so fast you didn't realise you'd been reduced to now only your undergarments.
"Have you still got a bratty behaviour that mommy has to take care of hmm," her voice was hoarse and coaxed in lust, your body jolting at the nickname.
You nodded unable to speak, but Natasha didn't like that. Instead her left hand crawled back up to your body as she leaned in and nipped at your earlobe, before burring her face at the junction between your neck and your jaw, nipping harshly. Her other hand squeezed your neck lightly causing a rushing of heat between your legs in response.
"It appears you have, use your words and be a good girl Y/N/N," she stated sucking harshly on your neck causing a load groan to escape your lips.
"No mommy, I'll behave," you whined and squirmed underneath her causing Natasha to pin you down further with her body.
"That's my good girl," her right hand moved to fondle with your breasts.
She pinched them lightly, rolling the tips of the buds between her finger tips earning another loud moan of approval from you. Nat always loved your moans and the way you squirmed for her. Her fingers could lightly touch you and you'd be wanting her craving her every touch and she thrived off it.
Her mouth moved further down your body kissing and nipping every part of the way. She missed the way you felt underneath her, missed the way your skin tasted and felt under her fingertips. God Natasha had missed fucking you and seeing you scream her name. She clearly had every intention of others seeing these marks but you couldn't care less, you were hers just as she was yours. That never really had changed.
"Mommy," you cried impatiently earning a light slap to your thigh.
"Patience detka. I want my sweet good girl all ready and squirming for me before I dive into have my desert," she stated with a smirk against your stomach.
The praise added with desert caused another wave of heat to hit you and you felt your pussy become wetter by the second. Her mouth attached to your breast as she nipped and sucked it in between her lips and you moaned out in pleasure. She gave it the most amazing attention, licking and bitting before switching her attention to the other one. Natasha focused so much on your breasts, you'd failed to notice her hand slipping down your body and playing with the hem of your underwear.
Her fingers lightly brushed over your clit through the clothed panties and you let out a rather guttural moan before sighing loudly.
"My my detka. You seem to be such a little slut, all soaked for me before I've even touched you hm?" She slapped your clothed cunt with demand causing your hips to buck in retaliation.
"Mommy please, I need you," you whined and she grinned as she slid down your body with an eager and hungry look in her eyes.
"Since you asked so nicely, I think I will fuck you until you're screaming mommy's name hmm? Would you like that kotenok? You screaming out my name as you cum all over my fingers and my face?" The mere thought of it caused you to whimper and nod fast.
"Yes please," you said as she let out a dangerous grin before yanking down your underwear wasting no time shoving two fingers in you.
The moans of you both filled the room as she fingered you in just the right places as before. They felt so perfect in you, fitted so right and made your entire body feel aflame.
"God you're so tight love, do you like mommy fucking you hard with her fingers hm?" She thrusted in faster causing you to shout out her name.
"God Natasha- please I need your tongue but I love it. I need it, please mommy," you squirmed so much she had to pin your down with one of her legs.
"Since you've been such a good slut and asked politely I think I'll take my desert now Y/N/N," she stated removing her fingers.
The loss of her fingers caused you to whimper and whine in sadness, the feeling of want overcoming you once more. However the feeling quickly went away as she replaced her fingers with her tongue and oh god was Natasha Romanoff talented with her tongue.
The older woman licked heavy and determined strokes up and down your pussy, causing you to let out dirty and insane moans, the tears of emotion trickling down your face. She continued eating you out until her tongue moved further down, entering you fucking you hard with her tongue.
"Oh my sweet girl, you taste just as you always have. I could eat you for hours and never want to pull away," she mumbled against your clit causing the vibrations to allow you to feel hot and sweaty.
She continued to lap at your clit with such determination and the coil in your stomach built up as you felt your orgasm drawing close. She sucked on your clit hard causing you to cry out and you knew you were close.
"N-Natasha," you whined and she knew but slapped your thigh in retaliation.
"That's not my name is it now kotenok hmm?" She sucked your clit with such hunger the noises filled the room only drawing you closer than before.
"Please Mommy, I'm close," you corrected earning an approving hum and she dipped back inside you, her thumb coming up to your clit.
"Who do you belong to sweetheart?"
You could barely process her words but you knew you'd have to respond otherwise she'd never let you release only edging you until you were sobbing underneath her.
"You, always yours," you cried out begging for a release.
"Good girl. Now cum for me Y/N. Fucking cum all over my tongue."
The vibrations of her talking mixed with the hard and talented tongue of hers allowed you to come undone as your orgasm washed over you and she continued to lick you through it, allowing overstimulation to course through your body. She hummed at your taste as she held you down getting her reward as you moaned collapsing down from exhaustion.
You felt her clamber off you and head into the bathroom as your ragged breaths filled the room. You'd missed that so much. You missed her.
Natasha's voice broke the silence that had been dancing through the room for mere minutes and filled your ears with such love and joy.
"That was something hm," she stated offering you the water to which you took and gulped down gratefully.
Pulling the covers over you, your body was exhausted and you looked over all you saw was her. She was back and you were here with her. Her smile softly matched your own as your eyes glassed over with emotions overwhelming you all at once.
"We made it," she whispered against you as she slid in next to you, nuzzling into your neck.
"We did."
"You stayed," she whispered and the unspoken truths became familiar and clear.
"I will always stay Natalia," you whispered against her. The gentle squeeze tighter around your waist was the unspoken words you knew.
As you drifted asleep in each others arms, sometimes the unspoken is better remained unspoken and other times it isn't. You did stay though. You always would. She was your Natalia and you saw her as that only. Just as you were hers, through the spoken and unspoken times. Throughout time and history, forever dancing as one.

At Your Back
Family is More than Blood
Note: Just a little story that will come together in Matryoshk. The friendship between Wanda and the reader is going to be important so I wanted to write to show where they are.
Summary: When you got out of bed, late at night for a sugary snack, crying stopped you in your tracks. Wanda needed a gently reminder that she was not alone.
Warning: angst with fluff, mention of killing, guilt, grief,
Relationships: Wanda x Reader (plationic), Carol x reader
Word Count: 1.8 k
For some reason, you were craving something sweet and chocolaty at 2:30 in the morning. It was the benefit of living at the compound and being free from the Red Room, if you were craving something you could go and find it. You walked into the kitchen, ready to devour some brownies that Wanda made when you heard soft crying. The sound stopped you and you saw the Sokovian curled up by the window with a blanket over her shoulders and a mug in her hands. “Wanda,” you softly spoke not wanting to startle her. But she didn’t respond, lost in whatever world her mind was creating. “Hey,” you whispered, kneeling at her level. She jumped, her fingers that were wrapped around the mug glowed a dark red but you were too quick to grab onto her hands. “You’re okay,” you smiled. “You’re safe. It’s just you and me.” The glow went away and you caught the mug when she could no longer hold onto it. Quickly, you placed it on the floor and brought her into your arms.
Wanda hugged you tight. Her hands gripped onto your shirt like a lifeline. But you held her as she cried against you. You saw a lot of Yelena in Wanda, two girls subjected to darkness at a young age. It wasn’t fair to either of them. You didn’t mean to look into her past but when you researched the Accords she came up. Wanda Maximoff, whose parents were killed by a STARK Bomb in a war-torn country. She and her brother signed up to be a part of HYDRA where she came in contact with one of the infinity stones. Then the Maximoff twins aligned themselves with Ultron which ended up in her brother’s death. The latest article was the Avenger’s involvement in Lagos, killing numerous citizens and 11 Wakandan relief workers. It was a lot of guilt and grief for one person to carry.
“I’m sorry,” she said, ending the hug and wiping away her tears. “I don’t know what came over me.” You smiled and tapped your hand on her thigh.
“Come on, split a brownie with me,” you stood up, ignoring the ache in your knees. You were getting too old for this. You knew Wanda followed you into the kitchen and she sat down on the empty bar stool. “Ice cream or no ice cream?”
“Ice cream.”
“Great choice,” you grabbed two bowls from the cabinet and the vanilla ice cream from the freezer. Once you cut up the brownie, place the ice cream on top. “Ice cream makes everything better,” you said, handing her a bowl. “I’d get in so much trouble with Alexei and Melina because I would get Yelena and Nat ice cream after a nightmare.” Wanda gave you a small smile.
“You and Pietro would have gotten along,” she cut up the brownie and took a bite. “He would get in trouble for stealing food for me or other kids.”
“Did you have a dream about him?” You asked. “Is that why you are down here crying?” She wouldn’t look at you, fixated on the bowl in front of her. So you continued, “You aren’t alone. If you need anything I’m here.” She chuckled and used the sleeve of her shirt to whip her eyes.
“Yelena and Natasha are very lucky to have you as their sister.” Wanda brought up her knee to rest her chin on.
“I think I’m the lucky one,” you smiled. “They gave me a purpose, a reason to keep fighting,” she slowly ate another bite. “Wands, tell me what’s going on.” Her lip began to tremble but no tears fell.
“Sometimes it becomes too much, you know?” You did. It was like a weight resting on your chest. No passing time would make it go away. “I miss my brother and I wish he was here.”
“Tell me about him.” She did. In your opinion, Pietro was a wild child who cared more about making others smile than the consequences of his actions. He was the class down but stood up for those who were being picked on. You could have loved to have known him. “I’ve learned that those we love,” you said once she was done. “Are never truly gone. They are with us even when we don’t see them.”
“It’s not the same,” she whispered, taking the last spoonful of her dessert. You agreed with her. “Who did you lose?” That was a long list of people.
“A lot of people,” you whispered, taking your and her empty bowl to the sink. Your back was to her as you cleaned them. “But to be more specific. Her name was Nina and she was the closest thing to a best friend you could have in the Red Room.”
“What happened to her?” You dropped the spoon in the sink, the sound echoed on the quiet floor. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked.”
“No, it’s fine,” you turned to face her, leaning back on the counter. You hadn’t that about Nina in a very long time. It was like a scab that wouldn’t heal, sometimes you forgot about it but if you scratched it or bumped into it, the pain was 10 times worse. “I could tell you or,” you walked over to her. “You could look for yourself.”
“What?” She whispered. You took her hand and placed her fingers on your temples. “You trust me?” She questioned.
“With my life.” You saw her eyes flash red and you were brought into a memory. It was weird. The only other time you allowed Wanda to access your mind was to stop the thoughts that got too loud. There were times when you could feel her, like a pressure at the base of your skull but she would pull back before she saw anything. Now it was like watching a movie with Wanda lingering next to you.
It was before you and Natasha shared a room, that you bunked with Nina. Nina was a quiet girl, reserved, and kept to herself. Even though she was quiet, she was an excellent fighter. It was as if she knew the next move her appointment would make. You and her worked as a well-oiled machine and because of that, you became close. Best friends and you shared everything. However deep connections were seen as weaknesses in the eyes of the instructors of the Red Room. Another reason why all Black Widows were subjected to an involuntary hysterectomy. They wanted all loyalty to the cause.
So one night Red Room guards busted through the door and dragged you and Nina to the training room. Still wearing your PJs, the instructors ordered you to fight to the death. Nina was good but you were better. You’ve watched her fight, knew her signature moves, and easily outmaneuvered her. Before you killed her, her eyes locked onto yours and they looked relieved, like she was happy to be free.
When Wanda pulled out of the memory, you were a little disorientated but you knew you were crying. Tears slowly rolled down your cheeks. “Sometimes I like to think I saved her from a worst fate,” you whispered. “At least someone that loved her was the one to do it.” Wanda had tears in her eyes. You cleared your throat. “I miss her, every day.”
“Life hasn’t been kind to you,” she said, mirroring your actions and wiping away your tears. You chuckled.
“I could see the same to you,” she smiled. “But you aren’t alone in your pain, okay? I’m here whenever you need someone.”
“Why?” You have enough going on as is.” Your heart ached for how little she thought of herself.
“I’ve always wanted another younger sister,” you smiled, tapping her nose. “Blood doesn’t mean family. You are family and I will remind you every single day.”
*
As Carol woke up, she was surprised to find your side of the bed empty and cold. Stretching, she got out of bed to find you. Her journey didn’t take her far as she found you lying on the couch near the window. It was your favorite spot as it had a perfect view of the wooded area in the compound. You were reading, that wasn’t a new sight but Carol was surprised to see you running your free hand through Wanda’s hair. The Sokovian was fast asleep in your lap. It was a sight Carol had seen before but with Yelena asleep. You closed your book as Carol got closer. “Hi,” you whispered. She saw how tired you were.
“Hi baby,” Carol said, kissing your head. “Everything okay?” You hummed, looking down at the sleeping girl.
“Yeah,” you smiled. “Someone just needed a little extra reminder that they weren’t alone.” Carol was so in love with you. The words were so close to tumbling out of her mouth every time she saw you. But she held it back. It wasn’t that she didn’t doubt you felt the same but you needed time. The whole ordeal with Natasha’s kidnapping and you interrogating Daniel, was taking a toll on you. Some nights Carol would wake up to you whimpering about whatever nightmare plagued your mind, and she would hold you tighter. You needed to heal and Carol didn’t want to add more things to your plate. She smiled.
“I’ll go make us coffee and breakfast. Does that sound good?”
“Sounds perfect,” you reached up to silently ask for a kiss and Carol wouldn’t deny you that. She kissed you softly, savoring the way your lips felt against hers. She pulled away, letting her forehead rest against yours.
“You are amazing,” she didn’t give you time to dispute the compliment as she went to make breakfast.
*
You watched your girlfriend walk away, your body felt warm at her sudden compliment. “She’s right,” Wanda mumbled as she turned to look up at you.
“Is that so?” She nodded, smiling. “How did you sleep, malen’kaya ved’ma (little witch)?” Her cheeks turned a slight pink at the nickname.
“Good, thank you,” she sat up, stretching her arms about her head. “Did I hear that Carol was cooking breakfast?” You nodded. “Great, I’m starving,” you laughed as she stood up, taking the blanket with her. Amazing. They both called you amazing. Hell, Wanda said Yelena and Natasha were lucky to have you as their sister. But right now, you weren’t feeling amazing or a good sister. You felt horrible and a danger to those around you, all because one man got into your head. ‘You and I are very similar. We have the same level of darkness.’
“Y/n,” Wanda said. You looked at her. She was smiling but her green eyes showed worry and concern. Did she know what he said to you? “Come on. Food makes everything better.” You chuckled and stood up, joining them in the small kitchen. She bumped her hip against yours causing you to laugh.
“Thank you, little witch.” You said.
“Family, right?” Yeah..family.

hey have you got any fics where multiple avengers raise Peter or they all co-parent him and take care of him together but none of the avengers are actually a couple. THANK YOU <3
hello, could these series work?
Adopting Identities Verse by Thisisentertaining
No one's surprised when Pepper suggests an alternative to the Sokovian accords before the councilman can even propose the idea. It’s Pepper after all. Of course, she waits until the councilman leaves before dropping the real bomb. The public needs to see a deliberate, personal movement. They need to see the lives of the Avengers be affected by the losses they leave. When Peter Parker gets a call from his social worker, he just knows he's being kicked out of yet another foster home. When he burst into her office to see the Avengers waiting to adopt him, he’s sure that it was their way of inviting Spiderman to join the team. Luckily the Avenger’s like to discuss vigilantes over breakfast. A small tingle of non-spidey-sense-related nerves flutter in his stomach when Tony complains about the lack of cameras in Queens, but it isn’t until the heroes start suggesting possible people or personalities for the man behind the spider mask that he realizes he has no clue what’s going on.
More than Survive by Lixxiecorn
Peter Parker has been trying just to survive for the longest time between Uncle Ben's death, to becoming Spiderman, to moving in with Tony and Pepper. Now that he lives with the Avengers, he's ready to really live and try to do more than survive.

Enjoy @imnotasuperhero! Request here.
Chapter Iㅤ | ㅤChapter II
ㅤㅤ ㅤ
As you know me, Jules is portrayed by Adelaide Kane.ㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ CHAPTER II: ONE LAST TIME
The world changed. Not just for her, but for everyone.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ
With her look lost in some point inside that cell, Wanda kept quiet, wondering why the hell she agreed to go on that mission in Lagos. Mission where she made the biggest mistake of her life and because of that, the Sokovia Accords were created and therefore, she ran away with Clint from Stark's house to fight with Steve in Germany. Everything was chaos in a matter of hours.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Now locked away in some remote part of the world, with a straitjacket and a stupid Stark tech collar so she couldn't use her powers, Wanda was just devastated, she allowed herself to shed a tear.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ
'Please, stay with me. Don’t go…'
ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda remembered Y/N's words and closed her eyes, cursing herself. Why didn't she listen to her? Why didn't she stay with her that night? Sharing the warmth of the bed, just feeling Y/N’s heartbeat, the sound of her breath.
Now that picture seemed so far away.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
‘How do you feel now? You freak.’ The raspy voice of one of the guards was heard, but she didn’t allow herself to see that disgusting man. Wanda clenched her jaw and held on until he left, she wasn't going to let him see her defeated like that, how the icy cold sadness embraced her.
All she could think about was Y/N, just her, to survive.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
"Don't listen to him, kiddo."
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
She heard Clint's voice since his cell was next to hers, trying to comfort her in some way, so she wouldn't feel alone. Too late.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The lights flash for a few seconds, drawing everyone's attention. Before the guards could say anything, a blackout darkened the entire place. The surrounding darkness made Clint and Sam lean against the bars and talk to each other, though Wanda couldn't even move.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The sound of many men falling down made her feel nervous, what if it was Hydra again? No, they were already defeated. But what if it was someone else?
She had never felt so vulnerable. The anxiety began to devour her slowly until that voice brought hope back to her shattered heart.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I told you that no matter what, if you need me... I'll be there.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Like a beautiful sunrise, a smile was born on Wanda's lips; Steve was there. Next to him, Natasha was ready to get her friends out of there. Whatever it takes.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Are you sure?” The Sokovian asked feeling her heart race, taking the folder with shaky hands. She was in a van with her best friend, trying to go unnoticed. Wanda wearing sunglasses and a beanie to appease the cold while Natasha just left her recent blonde hair loose.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Safe as houses.” The russian spy sighed, noticing how Wanda was looking at the pictures in the folder. “She still goes to that café, not as often but… she does.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The pictures showed Y/N graduating, some in the cafe talking with Jules, some of the brunette listening to music with her headphones on the subway.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“How long have you been following her?” Wanda asked, her fingers running gently over the picture. Oh, how long it had been without seeing her. Especially when they were running from one place to another to avoid being caught.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Since we got rid of Ross in Spain.” Natasha glanced sideways at the picture. “Plus, the barista is kinda cute.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda raised an eyebrow, turning to see her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“What? She’s cute.” Natasha rolled her eyes. “Apparently she’s her friend now. Thanks to that I was able to find out more about your girl.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Flirting with the barista?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Someday she will stop being the barista and will be the owner, she has dreams... she's different from us. From me.” The currently blonde handed her the binocular so Wanda could watch. “Anyway, Y/N's still single, she finished Med School, although it was delayed a bit when you disappeared. Now she’s doing the residence.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Still looking beautiful.” Wanda sighed as she watched Y/N from a distance. The brunette was at her table, writing something in her notebook and listening music on her headphones. This time she wasn’t wearing her leather jacket, she was wearing a grey hoodie that Wanda recognized perfectly because it was hers. Her heart melted. “She changed her hair style a bit.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“We can say we understand her. She needs to blend.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda sighed and put the folder aside. “What else do you have?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda.” Natasha tried to get her attention. “I think it's time to face it. We have no time for doubts.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The redhead sighed and shook her head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Now?” Wanda hesitated for a moment, really worried. What if Y/N didn't want to see her anymore? Or call the police? Or worse... what if... “What if she hates me?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“We don’t have much time, we should fly to Scotland in a few hours.” Natasha grabbed her keys, ready to get out of the truck. “It may be the last time you see her.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Remaining thoughtful and silent for a moment, Wanda looked out the window once more. This was her chance, she must take it or let it go. But she had to choose now.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Let’s go.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Here you have, my friend. ” The barista set the coffee mug next to Y/N, sitting down next to her. "Just the way you like it."
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Thank you, you're the best.” Y/N smiled kindly and drank some of it, but not before adding two tablespoons of sugar. “That guy bothered you again?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Jules shook her head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“No, he was snooping around for a while, but when I told Ross that Wanda was only here for coffee and they did the ‘truth test’ to me with that stupid weird machine, he left me alone. Plus, Matt Murdock helped me as the most caring and amazing defense attorney in the world. ” The barista leaned on the table to play with a sugar packet. “I'm glad your friend deleted the videos… from the cameras, you know.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“It was nothing nothing, Daisy said she didn't leave any traces.” Y/N sighed deeply, remembering that in those videos you could see how Wanda and her met for the first time. How difficult was to erase them from existence. Now those memories remained only in her memory.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Seeing the melancholy in her friend's eyes, Jules asked: “Did she call you already? Or something...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“No…” Y/N sighed a bit tired, putting her laptop aside. “Though I did find out some stuff, Daisy didn't know as much as I expected, I must admit, but she taught me a few tricks.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“How about Tony Stark?” Jules narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. “He must know where she is, or if you can see her. At least! I mean… she’s your girlfriend!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“But nobody knows that we are girlfriends, and it’s the safest thing for her, I haven't been near Stark Tower since the last time we tried to get in and you got locked up.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Jules tried not to laugh at the memory. “But it was worth it, wasn't it?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N smiled when she remembered that moment, of course she was able to intrude in the place thanks to Jules making a fuss in the main room. What it cost her to be questioned by the General Ross himself about twenty-four hours. And Y/N being 'kindly' kicked out by a some kind man with a scruffy beard that everyone called 'Happy'.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The door bell rang again as two customers entered the café. Jules walked over to take the order but smiled widely when she saw it was the blonde.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ Y/N smiled, the crush Jules had with that stranger reminded her of herself. She just turned her gaze to her laptop to continue with that job.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ “Hey.” Jules grinned, resting her hands on the counter. “You came back.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yeah.” Natasha nodded and pointed to the person behind her, who was looking at the ground a bit shy. “I brought a friend, I think she will really like your coffee.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Oh, a friend…” The smile on Jules's lips began to fade, she felt her chest deflate for a moment until Natasha's 'friend' removed her sunglasses. She could finally recognize her, with a different hair color, sure, but it was her. “Oh my… goddess.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The barista turned on the coffee machine to make some noise, necessary so that no one would hear them. Not even Y/N who was sitting with her back to them.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You’re here! We thought you were locked up somewhere! We saw you on TV!” Jules picked up two disposable coffee cups, writing two random names on them. “You looked so badass, by the way.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Please, don’t say anything.” Wanda whispered trying to go unnoticed, worried there would be bugs. “Can I trust that you won't rat us out?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You have my word, she’s there alone. Go…” Jules whispered and then cleared her throat, raising her voice again: “Sure! It's four bucks for both lattes.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Thank you, Jules.” Wanda whispered and walked away from her, Natasha stayed talking to Jules and making sure no strangers entered the place. Wanda smiled when she heard 'you didn't tell me you were an avenger! I thought your name was Natalie!'
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Each step towards her made the heartbeat increase, what to say? How? Wanda watched Y/N's back and how she scratched her head trying to think. Oh, she loved that. She was so adorable.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda took a deep breath, working up all the courage to take a seat across from her. Unlike the first times they'd met, Wanda this time sat down and stayed there until Y/N looked away from her laptop.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Sorry, this place is taken…” Y/N started but then her jaw drop open. Wide open eyes, her heart skipped a beat.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda was there, with the cutest shy smile and that lovely reddish hair contrasting against her skin. Although those green eyes showed so much nostalgia, this time the tears were of joy, to see Y/N again.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda...” Y/N gasped, quickly getting up to hug her tightly. Between giggles and tears, Y/N buried her face in the redhead's neck to sniff her scent, feel her presence once more and make sure she wasn't crazy.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
She was there. After so long they were together again. In the distance, her friends watched them smiling and happy.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Are you okay?!" The brunette took the face of her beloved in her hands, still unable to believe that she was there. Her Wanda.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I’m fine, detka.” The sokovian nodded quickly, smiling through the tears. Without thinking about it anymore, without caring about the consequences, Wanda ended the distance and kissed the lips of that woman she loved, the one who had her crazy since the first day they met.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The warmth of her mouth, the need to feel her one more time. Both were lost in that kiss until they both needed oxygen. Y/N rested her forehead against Wanda's for a few seconds, until they decided to sit down. They had to keep up appearances.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“We thought you were locked up in that awful prison.” The brunette sighed taking Wanda’s hand.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I was, but we were able to escape.” Wanda said in a low voice, closing her eyes as she felt that soft caress. She hadn't felt something like that for so long. “I missed you, lyubov.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Oh, she missed that Sokovian accent so much.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I missed you so much, Wands.” She felt a tear escape, down her cheek but she soon brushed it away. “You never told me you were an avenger.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I'm sorry.” Wanda bit her lower lip, trying to swallow the pain. “I'm sorry that I didn't tell you the truth, I wanted you to be for me, just for me… for this to be different from what I had. I was afraid you'd be scared.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“It's okay.” Y/N nodded. “Although I really didn't think that was it, just that maybe you were involved in some weird shit, some strange cult or something.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
They both laughed together once more, feeling that maybe for a moment everything was back to normal.
The warmth in Wanda’s belly mixed with the pain in her chest, everything she had in front of her and couldn't keep. Damn it. She now she understood the pain, now she understood what Nat told her, now walking away would hurt even more.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I'm sorry I left that night.” Wanda whispered regretfully.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Okay, I understand why you did it.” Y/N nodded. “I'm proud of you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
'I'm proud of you'. Such simple words, yet so powerful. Enough to make Wanda shed a few tears, of happiness and sadness at the same time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I can't stay.” You can hear the deep pain in her voice.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N smiled tenderly. “I know.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
They both spent a while catching up on everything that happened, until Y/N began to look for something in her bag.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Take this.” Y/N handed her a small device that she put in the redhead's pocket. “It looks like a tamagotchi, right? It's funny. Every time you want to send me a message, you have to open this app. And send it to me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I don't think I can have this where I'm going, detka.” Wanda looked at her tenderly but Y/N shook her head, giving it to her anyway.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“A friend did it for me, it's very reliable. It's encrypted, many layers of encryption, it is even necessary to do it from a specific place, really impossible to trace. I had the idea a while ago, I figured you'd come someday. So, I asked her to do it because she owed me.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Who?” Wanda frowned at her, doubtful. Maybe a little jealous. “Is she trustworthy?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Daisy Johnson.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Hearing that name, the redhead nodded and took that device, knowing that she could completely trust Daisy. At least they were on the same side.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“How did you meet Daisy?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Oh, that story is for another day. I'll just tell you that I had to patch many wounded running away because of the Accords.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You're amazing, detka.” Wanda bit her lower lip, completely captivated by her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda, we have to go.” Natasha said looking at her watch.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Can't we stay a little longer? Please.” She begged, those green eyes asking Natsha and whatever higher beings to give her a few more moments.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You know how it is.” Nat sighed and adjusted her cap, ready to go out again. “Steve needs us.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“She’s right.” Y/N kissed her forehead, in the sweetest and most supportive way possible. “Go, okay? I will be here.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Y/N, I…” Wanda stopped. She didn't know how to express those words, were they correct? Was she rushing? But did that matter? She was running from the government -not just one- for more than a year, of course it was worth saying. “I love you, Y/N.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I love you, Wands” Happy to finally say it, Y/N smiled widely and kissed her lips once more. Not just once, but many times until they had to break up.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Be careful, okay?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You too, take care, please.” The Sokovian sighed, feeling her heart split in two as she moved away. “They will do anything to find us.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“We’ll do it.” She nodded, then looked at Natasha. “Take care of her.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The spy nodded as if it were a promise, although the truth would be that they would both take care of each other. But to Natasha's surprise, Jules came over to her with a big brown paper package.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Take this.” The barista handed her that package that inside seemed to have a few bottles of water, bagels and chicken sandwiches. “For the trip, I guess where you guys are going won't be close.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Thank you, Jules. You’re kind.” Wanda smiled gratefully.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda?” Y/N tried last time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ “Yes?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Red looks beautiful on you. Red is still yours.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Smiling, Wanda waved and left that café, ready to drive out of town where the quinjet was parked.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
In the cafe, Y/N kept watching the door for twenty minutes until Jules decided to close it, it was time to go home. Of course Y/N was going to wait, she didn't know how long, but she was going to wait.
And together they battled the adversity and distance that separated them each night, especially Y/N's constant concern for Wanda's life. They communicated through encrypted messages from each city where Wanda arrived, once she was safe she would send a message that only they knew to show that everything was okay.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The second invasion in New York was something that nobody expected, of course. As soon as she saw that on TV how New York was under attack again by the Black Order, she quickly left with Steve and Natasha to the Compound. The imminent war against Thanos coming to Wakanda.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
‘Are you okay?’ Send.
‘Please, detka, say you're okay...’ Send.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
She typed and waited impatiently as they flew to Wakanda.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda sighed deeply, a bit defeated and tired of going back and forth from one place to another without being able to stay where she wanted to be. Now the planet was at risk -again- and a mad titan wanted to kill one of her friends to get a stone. Cool.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“She’s okay?” Natasha asked as she sat down next to her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I don't know.” Wanda lowered her gaze, watching her reddish knuckles. Some cuts on her pale skin, she couldn't remember when was the last time she had a moment of peace. Her heart doesn't have any rest. “I'm tired.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I know.” Natasha pursed her lips and leaned back against the quinjet wall, closing her eyes. “I promise this is the last time.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Don't promise something you don't know, Romanoff.” Wanda whispered, knowing so damn well that this wasn’t the last time. There was always something else, always somewhere to run.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Maybe half an hour later that device vibrated, taking her attention. Wanda sighed with relief.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
‘I’m okay. Working, the hospital is full of wounded people. Those aliens left a mess here! Where are you? What’s going on?!’ - received a minute ago.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
‘I'm about to stop all this. I love you.’ Send.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
‘I love you. Please be safe, come back to me, Wanda.’ Received.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“She’s fine.” Wanda told Nat who seemed less worried now too. “We must stop them.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda didn't want to lose Y/N, didn't want to lose her best friend, Vision.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“It's what we'll do.” Natasha nodded and got up to make sure they were close to Wakanda, as they seemed to be losing altitude. Watching once more the messages from her beloved, Wanda closed her eyes when she heard Steve tell them that they were about to land.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
One last time. One last time and we'll be together.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
"She'll come back, of course she will."
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
That was what Y/N told herself over and over again, ever since the afternoon New York was attacked by Thanos. Hours later, Thanos's snap had disappeared half of the Universe.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Chaos and horror reigned in the lives of many people who lost their loved ones, and some people who had to pay for the crazy decision of the mad titan and lose their lives.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Watching the ashes around her, Y/N walked through the hospital corridors, seeing how people disappeared, turning into ashes. People who screamed for their relatives or for their doctors. She was speechless.
Y/N remembered how that day she arrived at Jules's cafe expecting to find a pile of ashes and feel the relief to see her there, so scared, trying to help the people who came looking for refuge.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N remembered how she tried to call Wanda but it was impossible, even though Y/N tried a thousand times, she never answered her messages again. And she understood why, when the news showed the fallen Avengers, victims of Thanos' snap. How they had been remembered for their great courage, trying to save the planet from that threat.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
‘James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, Sam Wilson, Wanda Maximoff… we owe them so much, we are forever in debt.’ Said the president next to the ruins of what used to be the Mets Stadium.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Now you remember them?! After spending a whole year hunting them all over the world like criminals!” Y/N exclaimed angrily watching the news, getting up to storm out of that cafe. “A fucking Witch hunt!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Five years from that day, that day when she asked herself: why not me? Where she should be glad to still be alive, but carrying the weight and pain of surviving in a world where those she loved were gone.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Five years where her life changed completely, she was no longer a girl doing a residency but was now a doctor.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Five years where New York City gone from being a beacon of light to a slightly darker place. A gray that would never make you feel alone, but not safe either.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You haven't slept at all for twenty-six hours, you should eat something other than ham bagels and coffee!” Jules's voice snapped Y/N out of her thoughts as she tried to stay awake over the counter.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Jules, her best friend who had been by her side these five years, poked her nose. The woman looked exactly the same although with a rather attractive bi bob haircut.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Its what I must do. I promise I'll eat better or healthier.” Y/N smiled somewhat wearily as she drank her coffee, happy to have two days off.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I’m just worried.” Jules shook her head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I'm okay.” She assured. “How's everything around here now that you own this place?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Oh, don't even tell me. It's chaos itself, I never thought it would be doing the same thing I already did, but with more responsibility. And even more tired and stressed… but happier.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N rolled her eyes and giggled. “What about Natasha?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Each day more beautiful. The last time we talked, she was videocalling a space raccoon... that was flirting with me. A self-centred little thing if I tell you.” She joked, shaking her head. The relationship with Natasha strengthened even more all those years, Thanos' snap changed everything.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ Y/N and Jules talked for a while, mostly about their lives until one of the customers caught their attention, pointing to the television.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I repeat, a ship landed on what used to be the old Avengers compound!” exclaimed one of the journalists while running. “Be careful, we don't know if this is a new attack on New York or-”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The journalist suddenly stopped when he saw how people began to appear around him.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“OH MY GOD, THEY'RE COMING BACK!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Astonished, Y/N and her bestfriend watched as the people who disappeared years ago, now returned there or outside the store. Y/N rushed out to help those in need, accidents began to happen. Helping those who were scared or disoriented without knowing what was happening, the world was once again in chaos... five years after the snap.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
While the Avengers fought against Thanos once again, united, every place in the world was chaos itself. About five or six hours later, from afar it was heard how many people celebrated the return of their loved ones in the streets. Jules was turning off the lights of the coffee shop when she heard the jingle of the door bells.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Sorry, we’re already closed. If you need help I can take you to the City Hall and...” Jules said without even looking, taking her jacket to leave but when she turned to look, her mouth dropped open in surprise.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ The redhead was wearing a gray coat and a burgundy sweater that fit her perfectly. She looked beautiful, as always, but mostly she looked hopeful. And somewhat worried.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ “Wanda…” Jules gasped, she remained still for a few seconds before approaching to hug the redhead. So tight, even Jules missed her so much. “Damn, it’s true. You look like... you look exactly the same. Wow.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“It is. You still look beautiful too.” Wanda said with a small shy smile, but as she pulled away she asked: “Where is she?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“In her apartment.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
So confused, the sokovian shook her head. “I was there, there’s no one living in that place.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Oh, yeah! It's just that she moved two years ago to be close to the hospital.” Jules took a piece of paper and a pen so she could write down the exact address. “Here you go, she's a few blocks from New York-Presbyterian.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Thank you.” Wanda nodded quickly walking towards the exit when the woman's voice caught her attention.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda… Do you know where Natasha is? She doesn't answer my calls, I understand that after all it must be difficult to talk. But… I’m getting worried here.” Jules tried to look smiley but she seemed quite worried because inside her, she felt that something wasn't quite right. "I'm terrified, she never does that."
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Jules, I… umh… I'm sorry.” Wanda lowered her head for a moment, not knowing what to say. How to begin, she didn’t even thought about everything that happened. Apparently Nat and her were close. “I thought you knew.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Taking a deep breath, the brunette just tried to hold back her tears and nodded. Natasha talked to her many times, explaining the situation in which she would always be. Preparing her for what she considered inevitable.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
She was an Avenger. Someday she would die as one.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Go, I'll be fine. We will talk about that later.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Are you sure?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yes, please. She will be happy to see you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda nodded and left that place quickly, willing to get to that place as fast as she could.
The good news was that Y/N wasn't that far away, the bad news was that the streets were packed with people. Wanda used her powers to levitate between alleys, shortening as much as she could.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
She was so focused on the TV that the sound of the coffee maker made her jump. The news channel decided to show the lovely reunions instead of focusing on the riots, to appease now the great problem that was now coming, called overpopulation.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N got up to get some coffee when she heard the doorbell. So confused, she set the coffee pot aside and walked to the door a bit worried. Maybe it was Jules with something new, she didn't know anyone else after all.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Each step toward the door seemed like an eternity, as if something was going to happen and her heart knew it. Because when she barely opened the door, her heart rushed out to its true owner. Taking her breath away, there was Wanda Maximoff, more beautiful than ever, as if nothing changed for her. Y/N thought she was living in a memory, Wanda looked exactly like the last time she saw her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Hi.” Wanda mumbled between happy, flushed and excited. She thought of all the things she wanted to say, all the things she mentally wrote down to say to Y/N, but she could only say 'hi'.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda! Oh my god!” Y/N exclaimed excited and amazed, rushed towards the sokovian to hug her as tightly as her arms would allow her. “It’s you. It’s really you. Oh my god, you’re here!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
She didn't even think about it, she just kissed Wanda. Kissed the love of her life as if it was their first time. Closing their eyes for a moment, they both allowed themselves to hold each other for a long time, feel each other one more time. Feel the scent, the warmth of their bodies meeting again, so similar yet so different.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
After that kiss, Y/N led Wanda inside the house quickly. Turning around, they faced each other again, not knowing what to say. Just happy looks and big smiles.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wow, I can't believe you're back.” Y/N took her hand sitting on the couch together. Oh, how many times she begged to whatever god up there would let her see Wanda one more time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The redhead took advantage of the moment to take a good look at Y/N, that woman for whom she had fought all this time. One of the most important reasons why she gave her life in that battle, who she felt was her home.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You look the same... it's so crazy.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You look a a bit different…” Wanda whispered, caressing her beloved's cheek. And it was true, although Y/N still looked so damn beautiful, some things changed. Not many, those eyes and that smile kept taking her breath away.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Hey, it's not my fault. Five years, you know? I'm a bit older now, but... bit sexier tho. Like a good wine.” Y/N teased, they both laughed, but then pain came like a blast of cold air for both.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Five years away.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Realizing how long it had been since they saw each other, years without knowing about each other. Time felt unrecoverable; years of thinking they were lost forever.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ Years where Wanda was not there for Y/N. Years where Y/N had to move on.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“No, I mean... you're so beautiful. You look the same, I just... It feels as if I saw you for the first time.” Wanda hurried up and shook her head, feeling the bitterness close in her throat for a moment. She cradled Y/N's face in her hands. “I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have left. We should have gone somewhere, run away together...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
A tear fell down Wanda's cheek and Y/N allowed herself to gently brush it away, leaving a soft kiss on her forehead.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“That sounds very romantic.” Y/N smiled wistfully, how long did she think about it? How silly she was for not insisting even more. “But you know very well that you wouldn’t, you wouldn’t quit on your friends, you wouldn’t quit on this world if it needed you, and I wouldn’t let you do it either. I'm still so fucking proud of you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“But I left you, twice. I feel like a failure, 'cause I know that I failed you, detka. I should've done you better…” Wanda looked down at their intertwined fingers, finally. “I'm scared… Everything has changed so much. And I know, but I'm afraid that you have everything now… and I’ll be nothing without you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N smiled tenderly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Some things have changed, but my love for you hasn't.” Y/N assured her, kissing her hand in a soft and unique way. “That's something that will never happen, my love for you will never end. I'm still waiting for you.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda bit her lower lip, completely in love with that woman. Oh god, how did she find something so good in her life?
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I haven't asked you, but…” Wanda felt a bit embarrassed to ask. “Are you... seeing someone? Sorry, I came here and I just stormed with all this. I didn't even ask you that...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The brunette giggled, that was so adorable. “You’re asking that after we kissed...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“What? I wanna know!” Wanda defended herself and gave her a little nudge.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Ouch!” She tried to stop giggling. “I'm single.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Oh, thanks to the universe.” Sighing deeply, feeling a great relief, Wanda just nodded and tried to fight back the tears.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Seeing Y/N again in front of her, so the same and so different, was one of the most difficult tests she had gone through. They both spent the night chatting about what Y/N's life had been like, that she managed to finish the residency because the decimation -or the snap- changed everything in those five years. Y/N got that apartment because it was so much closer to the hospital, and because the memories of Wanda started to suffocate her. It was too painful.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda's absence opened a great hole inside, so deep that nothing was enough to fill it. ‘It was a deep dark hole that goes all the way to China’, Y/N used to said that because that was one of the songs they both loved, ‘Hole in my heart’ by Cyndi Lauper.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
And while Y/N told her everything that happened in the world and in her life, Wanda never stopped smiling. She was so proud of Y/N, seeing her achieve everything she wanted to be.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I've missed a lot of you.” Wanda stroked her cheek, so slowly. The softness of her skin kept driving her crazy. “I abandoned you so long ago, long before Thanos. I abandoned you when we hadn't even started.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Feeling the pain in her beloved's eyes, Y/N just leaned down to kiss those sweet lips one more time. A short and sincere kiss, making their heartbeat increase.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I think it's time to rest.” whispered the brunette, lost in the delicious sensation that Wanda's lips cause her. Hearing that, Wanda just nodded.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yes, I should go.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“No, not like that. I mean… Where?” Y/N stammered, then looked around. It was 2 am, Y/N turned off the tv. “Where are you staying? I don't think it's good for you to go out alone.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I'm an avenger.” Wanda smiled, Y/N despite knowing that she was powerful and capable of defending herself against alien threats or trained agents, she continued to protect Wanda as if she were a treasure. “Don't know. I just came back… I came straight here. I have no place yet.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Stay with me.” Without waiting for even a second, stumbling at her own words, Y/N blurted it out without thinking about the consequences. Not caring either, she just wanted that girl back by her side and planned to make up for the time that was taken from her, from now on. If she let Wanda go before, this time she's going to fight for it.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yes…” Wanda whispered, happy. And of course this time she wasn't going to say no. This time she wasn’t going to refuse saying that she should be somewhere else. This was the place where she belonged, this was the place where she deserved and wanted to be.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Smiling, Y/N took the redhead's hand and they walked together into the bedroom, leaving all the chaos behind. Promising themselves to never let go again.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
And fulfilling what they promised, they didn’t separate again.
Except for Tony Stark's funeral, Y/N didn't think it would be appropriate to go there, so she just waited patiently for her. The bad news was that Natasha hadn't woken up yet, after what happened on Vormir and Steve returning the infinity stones to where they belonged, he found a loophole in that 'deal'.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
They were able to rescue Natasha's soul, coming back to life but wasn’t that easy. Natasha never woke up, staying alive but unable to get out of that coma.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Pepper took care of the situation, looking for the best facilities and doctors she could find. Jules never left Natasha’s side, she spent most of her time trying to be with her, and take care of her.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Of course, Jules cried and growled 'that's my girl, always leaving a mess and saving the world' when she found out about the Russian’s sacrifice. Hoping to scold her someday, though she understood that Nat would do anything to make her sister come back, Yelena. And all the people on this planet who needed to come back.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
After all, they spent five years together, and had a wonderful and healthy relationship. Natasha learned to open up and let herself be loved and cared for, have a small family. Jules knew so well that Natasha Romanoff was a hero, she always had been. Maybe the ring should wait for its owner a little longer.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Oh my god, that’s so you.” Y/N laughed so hard, watching an episode of Malcolm in the Middle.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda loved sitcoms and was grateful that they matched so well on it, even though they agreed to alternate their sitcom nights between Malcolm, The Office, and One Day at a Time. The Office could be complex sometimes, but Y/N loved it and Wanda was starting to like it, very much. Two months passed since everyone returned and the world was beginning to heal, little by little.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Shut up. You’re Hal, always horny and doing the most random weird things ever.” Wanda snuggled to be closer to her girlfriend, her love, her everything. Feeling the brunette's scent made Wanda smile and close her eyes for a moment, so she could live in that dream, never wake up.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“And you’re my Lois, because you love me anyway.” Y/N whispered as she stroked Wanda's back slowly.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“I love you, detka. I will love you in any way, in any world.” Wanda confessed by placing her chin on Y/N’s chest. Neither of them seemed to care much that the episode kept playing behind, the connection between their looks could overcome everything.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda…”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Mmh?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Have I told you that I love your accent?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Always, and I love to know...”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Wanda?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yes, detka?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N narrowed her eyes and bit her lower lip, thinking that maybe she shouldn't say what she wanted to say. “Do you remember the times we saw each other when you were running away?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Do I remember them? Ha. I treasure them in my mind, each and every one of them.” The redhead paused for a moment to lose herself in those memories. The times they'd run away so they could be together, when Y/N took a week's vacation and traveled to Scotland, so they could lose in the romantically beautiful Edinburgh, or travel to Ireland, laughing and dancing in Galway over a few pints of ale.
That night Natasha was so angry... but the most painful thing was always saying goodbye to Y/N.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Now they wouldn't have to do it anymore.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Remember when…?” Y/N swallowed hard, thinking how to say it. “I would like to know something... rather, I'd like to ask you something.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Tell me, Y/N, what's is it? Are you okay?” Concern was visible on the redhead's face.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
The brunette sighed and settled on the bed to get a better look at Wanda. After a few attempts to start saying it, she took courage: “Don't you think we've been apart for a long time already?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yes…” Wanda nodded. “Although these months have been wonderful, I don’t understand what you mean…”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“But it's different.” Y/N licked her lips and took Wanda’s hand. “So I was thinking and, well, this place… is… something that I chose, in a hurry because I had to. You know, I didn't even think if I liked that window or if that… room was good… or… one bathroom…”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda narrowed her eyes somewhat confused, not understanding too well where she was going.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Jeez! Would you like us… to look for a new place together?” Y/N ended up exploding, tired of babbling like a lovesick puppy. But as soon as she realized what she said, her eyes widened.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Do you want us to live together?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yes.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Wanda frowned, a bit confused. “Isn't that what we're doing?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Yeah, but I mean let's find a place together.” Y/N closed her eyes, expecting the 'no' at any moment. “One that we choose together, that we both like.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Her girlfriend was quiet and that made Y/N panic, feeling her palms slightly sweaty.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“A home...” Wanda gradually smiled, that smile she hadn't shown in a long time. Such a unique smile, a happy one. The sokovian suddenly began to nod quickly, between excited and happy. “I would like to.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N smiled too. “Really?”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“No, no...” The sokovian shook her head. “I wouldn't like it, change that. I'll say it better: I would love it! I would love to choose a home with you, detka.”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“You serious?” Y/N smiled and sat up on the bed.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Deadly serious.” Wanda couldn't say more, she just laughed when the brunette leaned over to fill her with kisses and small bites. “Let's get ourselves a home!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“And maybe a dog?” Y/N used her best pleading eyes, Wanda just bit her bottom lip, shaking her head.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
“Baby steps, detka!”
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
That was how they both slowly began to repair that relationship damaged by absence and time.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Natasha woke up two months later, happy to know that her sacrifice was worth it and that she was surrounded by the people she loved so much. Now all she had to do was go through a long recovery process, but never alone.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Y/N managed to have better work hours, now she couldn't be away from home for so long. She decided to take a minor position in a nice place called Westview.
ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Accepting Y/N's recommendation, Wanda began attending a therapy group, to be able to work on all the losses she had. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't impossible.
Although she would never get over Pietro, her family or Vision’s death, she could tell that slowly she was making progress.
Wanda could finally let her heart have a break and, without a doubt, lots of love.
