No, this is not footage from Gaza or Lebanon; it's Iranian missiles hitting "Israeli" soil.
– From @/War Monitor on Twitter. The same footage if also being shown on Al Jazeera and other mainstream news outlets right now (1st of October 2024).

If your feminism doesn't include Iranian and Afghan women, then you're not a feminist.
If your feminism doesn't include women suffering in highly patriarchial societies, then you're not a feminist.
If your feminism doesn't include honour killing victims, then you're not a feminist.
If your feminism doesn't include women suffering at the hands of a zealot religious ideology, then you're not a feminist.
If you support women who want to wear the hijab, but don't support women who don't want to wear it, then you're a morally corrupted person.

Israel didn't even allow Syria 48 hours of peace before invading their lands, bombing and genociding thousands. Anyone who believes the US-Israel Middle Eastern activities are anything more than a brutal land grab is deluded
Imagine fighting tirelessly for 50 years to rid yourself of a dictator and mere days after your victory, mere days after tortured innocents are freed from their cells, all your resources; schools, hospitals, etc. Are bombed, families are killed. A wasteland worsened to...nothing. For oil. But Israel is the good side right??

Yumna Al-Arashi, Axis of Evil (Yemen, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq), 2020
in Leica Fotografie International (LFI) magazine:
"This photograph was made for my first European solo show in Berlin, in the gallery Anahita Contemporary. It's a self-portrait alongside Anahita Sadighi, Moshtari Hilal and Susu AbdulMajid. We are respectively from Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan and Iraq. Despite our different roots I noticed that we all share a similar background, having grown up in Western nations that often vilify the places our families are from. I also noticed the strong profiles of each of our faces. So I decided to create this portrait with the title Axis of Evil – a play on the term so frequently used to describe our home countries when we were growing up. It also embraces the beauty of our distinctive noses, which are often treated as ugly, something to be changed. I wanted to embrace these qualities of ours in this image, creating something powerful, defiant."

I sometimes think about men have almost the same rights, body autonomy, freedom in every country while for women life looks so different from country to country or at least from region to region.
In some countries you're forced to cover your head, in others you're prohibited from covering your head and in other countries you can wear/not wear what you want. You can have an abortion in that country but not this one. You can get education, degrees and have paying jobs in most countries but not in others. You can go to a doctor if you need to but there you can't because women aren't allowed to become doctors and women aren't allowed to see a male doctor..
I sometimes think about how shitty the country i live in is but then i think well at least i can get an education and go to a doctor.. i shouldn't have to be grateful for those things..

"Nobody would ever say something insensitive about X physical condition like they do Y mental condition" "Nobody would ever be racist towards X like they are towards Y" "No one would ever dare treat X religion like they do Y religion" "X gender/sexuality are never treated the way Y gender/sexuality are"
What if we stopped playing Oppression Olympics. What if we started showing some solidarity. What if we just stuck to describing the problem instead of detouring around to shit on someone we think isn't oppressed enough. What if we stopped making sweeping judgements on what issues other groups of people do or do not face based on vibes.

Not really loving how my post about the left's love affair with eugenics and blood and soil ideology framed as "decolonization" got coopted into another "wait it's all Christianity??" "It always has been" post." Y'all are sticking your heads in the sand if you think this is a problem with "cultural Christianity." This is the exact same pattern we saw play out in the 1979 Iranian revolution and much of this ideology was coopted from the Nazis by the Soviets and reframed as progressive. This is not an issue with Western "cultural Christianity" and it would be great if Jumblr could stop engaging in the same "there's actually one secret root cause of every problem in the world and if we get rid of it we will have utopia" thing that antisemites have been using against Jews for 2000 years.
#i stg some people really dont understand that the problem with that ideology is not ~we are blaming the wrong religion/people~#there are recognizable patterns of oppression and social issues that have to do with Christianity but not every problem in the world is#rooted in cultural Christianity and the only reason you see so many issues with cultural Christianity is because you live in a majority#Christian country where Christians are in charge#i promise the samd ideology that we see antisemitic ~activists~ in Lebanon using are not caused by their extremely oppressed tiny Christian#community. i promise that the Iranian revolution that found roots in much of the same ideology and thought was not caused by their tiny#oppressed Christian community either#the similar arguments about who is indigenous to the contested areas of Pakistan and India and therefor who can kill which civilains and be#justified has 0 to do with Christianity#and im sorry but the concerted effort by Hamas to insist that Jews are not indigenous to Israel and that therefore it is acceptable to kill#Jews is not rooted in Christianity it is rooted in the co opting of Soviet antisemitism to justify their very much not Christian religious#extremism in a way that appealed to the communist bloc and now appeals to the Western Leftists that have adopted this ideology as well#jumblr#antisemitism#leftist antisemitism#soviet antisemitism#im sorry but the only reason you dont feel the need to be sensitive when talking about Christianity is because you do not live in a country#where Christians are a oppressed or scapegoated minority but i promise that does not mean those countries do not exist or those communities#do not exist and scapegoating Christians or cultural Christianity for problems that have very little if anything to do with Christianity is#the extact same shit people have been doing to jews for 2000 years#this eugenics shit has become a very common argument for the murder of jews and other communities living in the Wrong Place#all over the world and it is not at all contained to ex Christian leftists#this exact anti imperialist rhetoric was used to justify the expulsion of the jews from egypt in the 1950s#and from Iran in the 1979 when jews were charged with being imperialist spies for Iran and America#do you think those countries were Christian? lol#this eugenics shit framed as anti imperialism is not rooted in Christianity or ~cultural Christianity~ and has basically nothing to do with#Christianity at all#christianity#jewblr

Middle Eastern kids deserve to wake up to the sounds of birds chirping, not bombs and airstrikes
Middle Eastern kids should be carrying books and flowers, not the dead bodies of their loved ones
Middle Eastern kids deserve to run the streets in joy and laughter, not run away from bombs

the papier-mache walls of the shrine in kanqah naqshband sahib in srinagar, kashmir, built in its current form in 1633. the complex is dedicated to bukharan baha' al-din naqshband, who founded the naqshbandi sufi order, and is a mausoleum for one of his descendants. the shrine is a site for ziyarat as it contains what's said to be a lock of the prophet muhammad's hair.

The Iranian missile attack on Israel last week consisted of about 200 missiles. Each of those cost about a million dollars to produce. This means that the Iranian government thinks **200 million dollars** would do more good exploding over the sky somewhere else than being used for welfare, education and infrastructure inside Iran. I wonder how many Iranian lives that is in car accidents and cancer medicine. Every rocket shot by Hamas costs about 800$ to produce. By a very conservative estimate they averaged spending about 700,000$ a year between 2001-2021 just on rockets. They also spend about 300 thousand dollars for a kilometer of underground tunnels. They likely have about 800km. That's 240 million dollars. I'm not even counting other war spendings right now. I wonder how many parents wouldn't have had to wait for permits getting their children heart surgeries in israeli hospitals. I wonder how many impoverished young people could have received scholarships to become engineers and musicians and climate leaders and architects. I wonder what relations of mutual growth a thriving Gaza could have built with both Israel and Egypt. I also wonder how many disabled people won't receive financial aid, how many schools would go underfunded, how many people will die in understaffed hospital wards in israel this year because some rabid militarist decided this money is better spent killing people abroad to perpetuate the pointless cycle of retaliations. I'm also furious at all of this. And so fucking tired.
