Moro trying to grapple with the fact people can care about him while his service Alolan Ninetales lies beside him.
I could’ve SWORN I’d written the name of the Ninetales down somewhere but I guess I didn’t so I had to make a new one 🙏
I like to think his lounge clothes/pajamas are thick and wool-lined on the inside. Sweater, sweat pants, and fluffy socks. Also wears his earmuffs to bed as he has trouble falling asleep without them and without noise muffling.
I think he’s got fluffy socks that resemble paws as well :)
Also realised the animal I associate with him is an arctic hare
The animal I associate with McCoy is a fennec fox :) Big ol ears

Vulpix and Ninetales headcanons please? (Either form)
A Vulpix's tails split an average of once per year after it's born. They are considered fully grown by the time they reach six tails at around six years old.
Ninetales will hide young Vulpix on their back and cover them with their tails to hide them from predators.
According to superstition, Ninetales can shapeshift into humans.
If a Vulpix or Ninetales trusts you deeply, they will let you touch their tails without cursing you. This is considered a sign of deep affection.
Alolan Vulpix/Ninetales coloration is thought to be a mutation that originated from their single white tail at birth. It is a beneficial mutation because it helps them blend into their snowy environment.
The Alolan forms have a thicker, richer coat than the Kantonian forms and are slightly bigger on average.

so, im a hugeeee pokemon fan, and i couldn't resist giving some LI's full teams, i'm posting them for peer review (and also i have no idea what nicknames they would give their pokemon, so uhhh help ?)
I tried to take pokemon solely from the Galarian pokedex, cause it's the UK equivalent and I thought it'd be fun :
Kylar's team:
Chandelure was a Litwick he found in his house a few days after his parents had "the accident", and it brought him some much needed warmth. The things about Litwicks, is that they leech off of people's life force, but is also said to guide lost children to the spirit world, but Kylar was too stubborn to die, so the Litwick stayed and grew up into his Chandelure.
The Absol he found when he was in middle school, he was fleeing from bullies and ducked into an alleyway, where he found an injured Absol staring intently at him. Absols are seen as doombringers because of their ability to foresee imminent disasters, so this one had been chased off and thrown rocks at, meaning it was in bad shape. Kylar took it home and nursed it back to health, and it has since refused to leave his side.
Decidueye was the offspring of his parents' pokemon, and has been his since the egg hatched, so it's very attached to its master, willing to do everything for him, it was here for the accident and remains highly protective of its master. (also owl motif hehe)
The Alolan Ninetales I have less of a reason for, but it is said to act as a guide to people when they come to its mountain, and I had this idea of Kylar coming up the snowy mountain for some reason, and the Ninetales growing fond of this tiny shivering kid, and just following him and cuddling him until he caught it. (idk i just want good things for Kylar ig sue me)
The shiny Galvantula was for me a result of Kylar trying his hand at breeding Joltiks for fun, and this one being in the first few eggs he finds. He decides to keep it, at first for bragging rights, but he really does take good care of it, so another pokemon is added to his ever growing cuddle pile.
Finally, the Crobat was probably found in the rafters of the mansion as a small Zubat, around the time Kylar only had the Litwick and Rowlet. Kylar, having leftover pokemon food, decides to just feed the little fella, and a good friendship blooms. Crobats are said to be extremely stealthy, and can drain people of their blood, so Kylar has gained himself a convenient way of scaring off rivals.
Whitney's team:
Cinderace probably came up to Whitney when he was a child as a Scorbunny, seeing him play football with his friends and wanting to play too. A fast friendship, I'd say, I think Whitney would have been a super energetic kid, and a Scorbunny is perfect for him.
The shiny Togekiss was probably a Togepi gifted by his uncle, and technically a Togekiss, which usually avoid strife, should never stay in Rapeshire, this one likes Whitney too much to leave, it wants to bring him as much joy as possible.
I mean come on, Obstagoon is THE deliquent pokemon, of course Whitney has one. Maybe gifted to him by one of his gang's members ? I think that'd be cute.
Drednaws are seen as highly aggressive so I'm thinking one might have been rampaging through "Whitney's territory", and he wrestled it into "submission", gaining its respect, not before he gets bit through a little tho. He still has the scar from the incident, and the Drednaw sometimes licks at it in apology, now that its been caught.
Alright so I have the headcanon (or maybe it was canon and I forgot) that Whitney has had a garden since he was a kid, and maybe the Roserade came from there as a little Budew ? As in, it was interested and just started staying around, and Whitney couldn't get rid of it, so he just caught it.
Lastly, Sylveon. Sylveons evolve when they have high enough friendship with their trainer (and a fairy move), and obviously Whitney has been pampering it, but I'm thinking it probably doesn't come out of the ball in public much, it's kind of his secret ? But yeah, it's still very much loved.
Robin's team:
Dubwool was found as a Wooloo by the PC when they were going around the moors, it probably escaped from a farm and PC just brought it back for Robin to take care of as a gift. Its wool is said to be bouncy, but I think it can also be a way for Robin to ground themselves if they ever panic, as in they can bury their face in the wool and just shut the world out, I think that'd be sweet.
Goodra has been with Robin since it was a little Goomy, which are considered the weakest dragon type (the pokedex says it not me). Goomys are very good at detecting danger, and can hide very easily, so, sensing little Robin's good intentions, it probably helped hide him from Bailey. Apparently, Goodras give amazing good hugs, even if they do cover their trainer in slime, but I don't think Robin would mind.
Quagsire, similarly knew Robin as a Wooper. Woopers, when walking on land to find food, develop a toxic membrane on their bodies, but this one couldn't quite manage it, and was attacked by predators when Robin was passing through. Robin chased off the predators and gave the Wooper some fruits to help it recuperate, and its been attached to them ever since. Quagsires are very carefree pokemon, and they make great pillows. Basically I'm just giving Robin a perfect team for a cuddle nest.
Victini is the only legendary on this list, and I felt it was only right to give Robin the ever cheerful Victory Pokemon. Victini probably found Robin either after they were taken to the docks, or if that hasn't happened, after they confess to PC. Robin keeps Victini secret at all costs, as it would be hunted for its ability. Having Victini around probably helps Robin regain some self-esteem, and they make a great duo.
Boltund is a dog Robin found in the park one winter day as they were selling hot chocolate, a poor cold mutt with no identifiable traits proving it was owned. Robin secretly took it home and made the split second decision to keep it, now they've got a very excitable dog that's unflinchingly loyal. Boltund acts a sort of guard dog as well, reassuring Robin when they're walking past the docks.
Whimsicott had infiltrated the orphanage, and pulled a prank on Bailey, as Whimsicotts are wont to do, covering his office in its excess cotton. Bailey was furious and looking everywhere for the mischief maker, but the little ball of trouble had hidden itself in Robin's room, and the latter decided to keep it out of trouble and continue hiding it. Ever since then it's felt indebted and stays with Robin. It also quite likes to play pranks on Bailey, and that brings a smile to Robin, so why not continue to do it?
Sydney's team
Inteleon was actually gifted to Sydney as a Sobble by Sirris, reasoning his child should have a partner pokemon, so Sydney is the only one of this list with an actual starter pokemon (in the sense that he was supposed to go on a pokemon journey but ultimately stayed home). Inteleon loves its trainer very much, even if it has to force them to take breaks every now and then. A laid back pokemon and a hardworking trainer is a good duo, they influence each other a lot.
Audino was actually the temple's pokemon at first, acting as an aide to the temple's nurse, but it liked Sydney a lot and always fussed over them much more than any other initiate, so the temple relented and allowed Sydney to keep the Audino. Audino is actually the first one to pick up on Sydney's crushes, since it can use its feelers to sense its trainer's emotions. It subtly pushes Sydney to confess every time.
Dragapult was a lonely Dreepy haunting the temple's cemetery, having been left behind by its pack, it was letting out little mourning cries, which naturally attracted the curious little Sydney, who started leaving some food out for it, since it was too flighty to be approached at first. A few more weeks of getting it used to their presence, and it let itself be caught and taken care of.
Lilligant to me, was originally Sydney's other parent's pokemon, and acted as a sort of mother to them from the start. Lilligants release a soothing aroma, and I think in a time of mourning, or when Sydney lost Kylar, it would act as an aid and smother Sydney in the fragrance to help him feel better.
Okay so work with me for Volcarona here, because in multiple pokedexes, Volcarona is said to have been revered as a sun deity, and while that isn't the case today anymore, it still is a very significant part of Volcarona's history, so finding one in the woods while on a walk someday and being followed by it to the temple, all the while acolytes and initiates are falling to their knees around you is not the thing Sydney was expecting, but still, Volcarona has chosen them, so might as well roll with it.
Finally, Dedenne was a living in the school library before Sydney found it chewing through books and decided to give it a better home, and now it lives with them. It likes to take care of the books as well, and has become the library's unofficial mascot.
so uhh yeah those were my thoughts, tell me what you think ?

Pokemon Card of the Day #3082: Alolan Ninetales-GX (Lost Thunder)
Alolan Ninetales-GX was able to fetch Items from the deck once. While it was limited to when it evolved, being able to get said Items was often quite powerful. Some decks would likely include a line of Alolan Ninetales-GX just to do that. There wasn't a lot of power here though if not up against an Ultra Beast, however, and you were using a bit of deck space for a Stage 1 line. This meant that there were some things to take into account even though the effect was still rather powerful.
200 HP was reasonable on a Stage 1 Pokemon-GX, and would generally survive a good hit but not 2. The number was a lot less sturdy once Zacian V was released, but decks using Alolan Ninetales-GX were already a lot less popular by then due to the game around it revolving so much around Basic Pokemon, many of which weren't Ultra Beasts. The Metal Weakness, as a result, wasn't too big of a deal outside of the occasional Magnezone deck as other Metal decks were about stalling. The Darkness Resistance made it slightly harder for Zoroark-GX to break through, but 2 full-powered attacks still worked so it simply lowered the margin of error to zero. The Retreat Cost here was 2, and since Alolan Ninetales-GX was only attacking in specific situations you'd probably want some way to switch it out if you could fit it.
Mysterious Guidance was an Ability that worked when playing Alolan Ninetales-GX from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokemon, which did limit how easy it was to use it. That limit was needed, as the Ability was quite powerful. It let you search your deck for up to 2 Item cards to put into your hand, which could let you get all sorts of things. It could get you something as simple as an Ultra Ball, giving an extra out to whatever other Pokemon you wanted to evolve. If pairing this with a Stage 2 Pokemon like Gardevoir-GX or Decidueye-GX, you could get Rare Candy. If behind, Counter Catcher was an option. 2 Items was very helpful thing to have access to, and certain decks that weren't just trying to speed through with Basic Pokemon and needed to set up loved having that extra way to find resources.,
The main attack here was far less exciting. Snowy Wind required a Fairy and a Colorless Energy to do 70 damage as well as 30 to a Benched Pokemon. It was rather weak compared to other things you'd probably have access to and was limited to occasionally setting damage up for a KO elsewhere.
The GX attack here was very match-up specific. Sublimation GX needed the same Fairy and Colorless Energy, and if the opponent's Active Pokemon was an Ultra Beast it was simply Knocked Out. This was good if you could get in there against a Naganadel-GX or Blacephalon-GX, and was generally something to keep in mind when both using this card and facing it while running a certain sort of deck.
Alolan Ninetales-GX was a rather common inclusion in SUM-On Stage 1 decks since it provided an extra draw into ways to get the rest of the deck going. While there was always the risk of just drawing into the Ninetales and not hitting a way into the Vulpix (or Ditto Prism Star) needed, the positive scenario was generally more likely. Alolan Ninetales-GX mostly disappeared after the rotation, as the game shifted so heavily to decks that just set up Basic Pokemon and didn't have the outs to evolving things as much that this card was quite a bit less useful. For that one format, however, this was a really nice card for some good decks, and getting 2 Items would always be useful in some capacity.

What if Emmet, Ingo, and Piers met a saltwater crocodile reader? They're more territorial, and less tolerant of their own kind than others in their technical family.
Reader is massive, almost knocking their head on doors when they enter and taking up entire benches by themselves and their tail alone. Yet, there's something undeniably sweet about the way they try to cuddle into the Growlithe sitting on their lap, swaying back and forth sleepily as it gets colder and colder until they fall asleep.
Yet, when they sense trouble, they awake with a very low and loud snarl, ready to drive the aggressor off.
Emmet, Ingo, and Piers x Beastman Crocodile Reader
Emmet
You're a Beastman verrrry far away from home. You came from a whole other continent which is noted by your large appearance and scales. You have a large protruding tail that sticks out.
Emmet already knows about you because he's also a Beastman, a dog type to be exact. You have a very particular smell that stands out amongst the rest of the crowd in the morning train rush. Not that you smell bad as if you haven't showered in several days, but rather you smell like exotic spices, rich and powerful.
He's not the slightest bit intimidated by your presence, despite you being so much taller and bigger than him. He's actually rather curious instead of being frightened.
Being such a big guy, you're only comfortable taking the subway when there's less people. But because of how much people are scared of you, when they see you in the compartment, they immediately shuffle over to the next one, leaving you alone.
When things are like that, it's easier for you to bring your Pokemon out, an Arcanine. Emmet usually upholds the rules on letting Pokemon be on the subway train, it has to be small enough for you to hold typically, but his gaze softens when he sees you nuzzling into your Pokemon's fur, taking warmth from it.
When Emmet approaches you, you apologize and explain. Being a Crocodile Beastman, you tend to get fatigued easily in cold environments. You need a source of warmth on cold rainy or snowy days. You can't regulate your temperature without a source of heat or a source of coolness.
Emmet then asks how you stay cool, so you show him your Alolan Ninetales. Being very eager to see Pokemons not found in Unova, he challenges you to a battle. You chuckle before taking him on, conducting a battle so intense that he wants more of you.
Ingo
Being a Cat type Beastman and a celebrity, Ingo unfortunately attracts the worst kind of attention.
He's either infantilized or put on such a high pedestal that he can't be comfortable. But he does his best, even when facing such circumstances when performing at his job.
Emmet had given him a head's up about you, the Crocodile Beastman. You were of Apex blood as well, which meant you were so much taller and stronger than the average human.
Ingo isn't really sure what to think of you at first, Emmet praises you in how you conduct your battles. So he at least has a good impression of you. But he has yet to meet you.
One day while riding a train, Ingo gets into a conflict with a passenger. He was rowdy prior to stepping on board and was raising conflict with the other depot agents.
You appeared to be sleeping while the commotion was going on, with the angry man antagonizing Ingo and his crew. But then before anyone can even comprehend what happened, you leapt from your seat and tackled the passenger.
Ingo yells at you to get off of him, but after you wrestle the human to the ground, you knock away his knife by kicking it. You tell Ingo that you were bothered by a particular smell that this human had and it was the smell of dried blood and metal. It stunk on the human. You yell, "Emmet, call the police!"
After hearing your explanation, Ingo can't muster himself to correct you, only obeying your orders immediately. Using your strength alone, you were able to wrangle the human, tying him up with an escape rope.
Eventually the human is arrested, taken into police custody. Before Ingo can thank you, you stare at him with big eyes, taking a deep smell.
"Oh. You're not Emmet? I'm sorry, you two smell and look so similar..." you say, with a growl emanating from your chest. Ingo's face immediately turns a bright red as he apologizes back for not believing you at first.
You two both chuckle in an awkward modesty before talking, Ingo taking the time to sit next to you on the train as you talk about where you learned to fight.
Piers
Piers gets into some tough shit sometimes. It happens. But it's especially worse when it can potentially affect Marnie, his younger sister.
He's just a human while Marnie was a Beastman, so there are some things he can just never understand when it came to her identity, despite how hard he earnestly tries.
But in order to better understand his sister, he decided to start taking part in her weekly meetups. There was a club at her school specifically for Beastmen to participate in, to find a social understanding with each other.
There was an event for the Beastmen's families to come and participate in a potluck. Though Marnie tried to dismiss her own feelings on how she felt if Piers could come, he knew that she wanted him there badly. He and Marnie got together and made a batch of brownies before arriving.
There are a lot of teenage Beastmen with human families that Piers never anticipated to encounter. Though it was more common for two Beastmen parents to produce another Beastman, there were some cases where human parents would give birth to a Beastman as well. Many parents, human and Beastmen, gave Piers praise for all of the hard work he puts himself through.
Then he sees you, the only Apex in the whole entire group. You practically stand two to three feet taller than the average human and the children take delight in your bigger stature, playing with your tail and clinging on to your arms.
Then you lock eyes with him. You suddenly start to approach, Piers isn't sure what to do but you give him a big hug. "There you are!! I've been dying to meet ya, Piers! Marnie talks to the moon and back all about you. I'm the Program Leader. Come here and eat!"
Piers isn't used to your big and friendly nature, being the stoic grungy kind of emo he is. But he can't say that he doesn't like it. Despite your intimidating appearance, you're a natural with the kids, they adore you. You go back and forth talking about Marnie and it's evident to Piers that you really care about her, though probably just as much as you care for the other kids.
he can't help but to be swayed by your strong personality and finds out there's something he's still missing in life. Maybe Marnie would like it if she had a parental figure to rely on...?

Here is a list of my pokemon and some sleeping habits they have. Are they normal?
Empoleon sleeps upright, usually next to a wall
Gyarados sleeps in a coiled position
My Alolan Ninetales finds the softest spot around to sleep in
Rotom just goes inside some random appliance
Garchomp? I dunno, he just flies away to somewhere and returns in the morning. I think he might like high places, not sure...
Hello! Please keep in mind that I mostly specialise in wild sleeping behaviours, captured pokemon may display different sleeping behaviours which are still healthy. That being said, here's my opinion;
Empoleon and their evolutions live in groups called huddles naturally. If yours is drawn to standing next to other solid things, it probably feels more secure as if it were huddling up to others of it's kind. I could be a little lonely? You can get life-sized toys for cuddly Pokemon to sleep with that might be nicer than a wall.
Gyarados have a reputation for being aggressive and angry but really they're only like that when provoked. How often does your coil? Most of those I saw slept whilst completely straight, or resting it's head out of the water upon the bank. The few I saw coiled usually did so around a boulder or other large object to protect their underbellies else were clearly feeling unwell and coiled because of that. I might recommend getting yours checked (could be more normal in captured Gyarados I dunno).
Ninetales of all kind do as canines aren't won't to do. Yours finding a soft spot likely reminds them of the snowy places they come from with they are known to dig down and make soft cosy dens much like Beartic do!
Rotom tend to feel uncomfortable when out of an appliance for too long, especially for resting, so long as it's not causing problems to the appliance it's probably fine. You could always try loading it into an empty phone so it can communicate if it feels comfortable and safe sleeping this way.
Garchomp, being dragon types, need a lot of space and take great care to feel safe when sleeping. If yours leaves you to sleep, it's probably because wherever you currently are is not providng it with a safe feeling especially if you're keeping them outside of pokeballs. Garchomp enjoy roosting on the occasion, but being up high seems to be mostly for hunting. They like deep caves where there's only one entrance they can keep an eye on, do with that what you will!

Hi Orange, since you originated from Kanto, have you heard that most Pokémon that you're familiar with, found pacifically in the Alola, Galar and Paldea regions that look completely different from there original counterparts. These are called Regional Forms, also known as Regional Variants, meaning they had to adapt a new typing, in order to survive in it's new environment. For example, in Alola, Vulpix and Ninetales gains the Ice-typing to thrive in the snowy mountains of that region, in Galar, Meowth gains the Steel-typing and has an exclusive regional evolution called Perrserker (Galarian Persian doesn't exist for some reason). In Paldea, Tauros gains the Fighting-typing and has two exclusive fire and water type breed forms (Paldean Miltank also doesn't exist for some reason).
Regional forms is pretty much Divergent evolution in the Pokémon universe.
However in Paldea, there a few Pokémon that were once classified as a regional forms but later identified as an entirely different species all together. These are called Convergent Pokémon, also known as Convergent Forms or Regional Fakes by others. For example: Tentacool is a jellyfish while Toedscool (Ground/Fungus) is a fungus (pacifically the wood ear fungus) and Diglett is a mole while Wiglett (Water) is an eel (pacifically the garden eel).
Also noticed how both of mons have very similar names and completely different types compared to there species that they evolved from. You'll probably guess what there evolutions are called by naming convention wise!
In a nutshell, we have land Tentacool and water Diglett. How fascinating!
Hey, sorry it took me so long t'answer this. THAT'S SO COOL!!! I especially love Alolan Vulpix an' Ninetales, 'cuz I got a Vulpix o'my own! Her name's Tails an' she's a sweetie, doesn't like t'battle, but she's an amazin' cuddle buddy! Her warm fur's great when it gets cold here in Sinnoh...it's SO COLD here in winter! Oh...I'm gettin' off track, sorry. Ummm...what else t'say...OH YEAH! Thanks for tellin' me 'bout these cool Pokémon! I'll hafta ask for some books on Alolan, Galarian, an' Paldean Pokémon now...I wonder if Yellow Nee-chan an' Red nii-chan could send some t'me...I'll see if I can call 'em later an' tell 'em all about it! Till then I'll see if Lady's got some books on those Pokémon...she's got books on EVERYTHIN'! I really hope she'll lemme borrow some if she does...I GOTTA READ UP ON THIS!!!

#037.5 - Vulpix are born with a single, white tail, which gradually gains color and splits from its tip as it grows older. You can tell the relative age of Vulpix by the amount of tails one has. The process of growing more tails has been said to create mystical powers, granting a full grown Ninetales the ability to live for a thousand years. Despite this wondrous power, Vulpix do not gain a secondary typing upon evolution. Instead, the internal flame they are born with will continue to grow in heat and power. It is said that the flickering flames they spew from their mouth leaves opponents hypnotized.
#037.5A - Vulpix first came to the Alola region together with humans, but through breeding and releases, began populating snowy mountain peaks in order to avoid the normal habitats of other Pokemon. Over time, Vulpix evolved to thrive in this new environment, creating a new sub species with an ice typing. These Alolan Vulpix are gentle-natured, and practice honing their icy breath by defending Pokemon and trainers in duress. They live with other Vulpix and Ninetales in a skulk, helping each other hunt and protect their mountain homes from those who would harm nature. Looking at their curly hair through a microscope reveals small ice particles within.
Named: Vulpix - Kitsuven - Ninetales

❤️🩹-tell me of wounds
So like…I took a college trip to Alola, it was a research thing I think, I don’t actually remember, because me and a couple of guys only went cause there were a couple of girls around you know? College students with highschool priorities, I know, but that’s actually kinda important because the crew of us were dumb as a group of magnemites
But anyway one night I got dared to walk as far into Mount. Lanakila as I could and to come back down, that was it, probably because if I was there long enough I’d be half frozen coming back and all.
As you might guess, being stupid, I ended up wandering into Lanikila. At night. Without any Pokémon, much less proper supplies for heading into a snowy mountain
So after narrowly avoiding death, the weather started getting worse, and I decided to head back, but uh, turns out it’s really hard to see during snowfall, and I got lost. Very, very lost
Luckily for me, I got found by a non aggressive wild Pokemon, an Alolan Ninetales…Shiro…she led me all the way out of the mountain and even through the city, guess she didn’t want me to tumble over from the extreme cold
And well, basically she just didn’t leave my side after that, so I got a pokeball and caught her, had her with me for years
…fuck I miss my Ninetales…

Pokémon Adapted to the Alola Region Some Pokémon have adapted to the distinctive microclimates of the Alola region and have taken on different forms than they have in other regions. These Pokémon are called regional variants. After taking root in the Alola region, they live like native Pokémon. These regional variant Pokémon can have different appearances and types, and their way of living can also differ from that of the forms previously known. Name: Alolan Exeggutor Type: Grass/Dragon Unlike other Exeggutor, the Alolan Exeggutor has a fourth head—on its tail! This fourth head controls the tail independently and can take on opponents to the rear that can’t be reached by the main heads’ attacks. Name: Alolan Vulpix Type: Ice It is said that Vulpix came to the Alola region together with humans, but the Fox Pokémon moved to the snowy mountain peaks to avoid the normal habitats of other Pokémon, and thus it ended up taking on this form. Name: Alolan Ninetales Type: Ice/Fairy Alolan Ninetales is able to produce ice crystals from the fur that covers its body. It can use these ice crystals to block attacks, or it can form balls of ice, which it fires like bullets at opponents. These ice missiles have enough power to pulverize rock. Name: Alolan Sandshrew Type: Ice/Steel Sandshrew have historically lived in desert areas, but the frequent eruptions of nearby volcanoes drove the them to abandon the desert and migrate to snowy mountains where they took on this form. Name: Alolan Sandslash Type: Ice/Steel The Alolan Sandshrew of the snowy mountains evolve into Alolan Sandslash with spiny backs that are covered in ice. Alolan Sandslash hide themselves in the snow when strong enemies appear, leaving only their needles exposed and ready for business.
