Snowy is more than just a character to represent me in online spaces, she is me and is all of the things that I want to be. Through her I was able to pull out of the worst things I’ve gone through with help from the furry community, and she is also a representation of the therian/otherkin feelings that I’ve always had.

This is one of my favorite pieces that I’ve commissioned that reflect on some of those feelings, art is by suchamantis on Twitter

It was in that moment, in the middle of his brothers... sermon, should you wish to call it, that he saw the boy. A small, blond boy huddled in the corner of the square, his eyes bleak as he made himself smaller. Though he was supposed to be listening for a cue from Philip, he couldn't seem to get his eyes off of that boy. He feared he could see himself in his place. 

After Philip was finished and took his leave - Caleb having let him know that he had some other matters to attend to - he made his way over to that corner. He crouched down to make sure he was eye-level with the kid, though he'd surely regret making such a move at his age. His head tilted slightly towards his shoulder. "You okay there, kid? I noticed you over here during the speech - is there anything that you need?" 

Even if all he needed was someone to lend an ear to, the least he could do was offer. It wasn't in him to ignore a kid - or rather, teen - in need.

I hope you don’t mind me sort of lumping these three asks together! I just wanted to say that it means a lot and it makes me happier than you could ever know to think that me or my dumb blog makes someone happy because I know definitely being on here with all of you has made me happier than I could have ever imagined.  I don’t really want to leave this on a short note and while I don’t practice ‘chain asks’, I want to leave a little note on here for each of you.

@aceparagon​​ - I had fun getting to talk with you and ask you more about Hikaru when I was asking you for inspiration for her mood board.  I think it’s great that you’ve kept at it with her for so long and I really do hope we’ll get to see her and Ryuji hang out! I hope you know that it always makes me happy to see that you’re still here on Tumblr and no doubt, still being awesome with Hikaru! Hope we can talk even more in the new year.

@mcmcntomorii​​ - Honestly it feels like we’ve been mutuals for so long now and I can’t help but smile whenever I see you on the dash.  I think you and Mukuro both are amazing and it’s clear to me just even just by looking how much love and care and work you’ve put into your blog and into her and I have all the respect in the world for you for that.  You’re absolutely someone I think very highly of and always hope to write with more.  Me and Ryuji both will always be rooting for you and Mukuro, you both are amazing and don’t you forget it - we’re always happy to remind you, too!

@snowfeathered​​ - Admittedly we haven’t gotten to interact or talk as much but that just gives us a chance to get started on it! I look forward to writing with you and talking with you more in the near future! I think you and your blogs all seem really great!

                 after everything that’s happened, nothing feels certain anymore. every path, every choice, feels new && unknown. in a way it is. the world, like nothing you can recall, not from your lifetime. it’s hard to plan for the future, when mere weeks ago, you weren’t even sure you HAD a future. 

all you know, the ONLY thing you are absolutely sure of, is that whatever your life looks like moving forward, you want eda in it.

" are you... sure that getting back together is the best option? i'm not sure about this. " eda admittedly feels concerned, though she knows deep down that she still loves raine. " it's been too long; i'm worried that things will get bad again, rainshower. "  ( @snowfeathered​ )

you understand her concern, you do. it HAS been a long time. you’re very different people than you were twenty years ago  /  ( twenty years ago, when you broke her heart  —  but she’d broken yours too )  /  but you’ve lost too much time. you’re old now, both of you. && you refuse to let any more years slip away. 

“can we just... take it one day at a time, then?” you step closer to her, cupping one side of her face in your palm, && brushing the knuckles of your opposite hand over her other cheek. “i let you go once... i almost LOST you... i can’t do that again.”

The Oak Colony Mentors have a certain hierarchy about them, with those who have mentored longer being higher “ranking.” They teach young new-claws during their field training and supervise the Rangers who are given new-claws to train; training the trainers. They work as a unit to make sure that young cats have their footing on the cliffs, learn the best ways to hunt in the territory and fight effectively.  

Stagcharge is basically the top Mentor who reports directly to the Captain and shares the status of training in the entire Colony; it helps that the Captain is also his mate. Stagcharge is a generally stoic and measured individual with a hard head and a bit of stubbornness, though he can be warm and caring toward young cats, making him a good teacher.

Stonestep can be cold and sharp. Many Rangers prefer to be supervised by Stagcharge or Tornleg over Stonestep because of her spicy attitude and conniving nature, she is the strictest mentor and the most skilled, having trained more cats than any other Ranger in Oak Colony. Stonestep is rarely impressed and has few friends because she views herself as above most others. Many find it quite odd that Redleaf is her mate as he is so chipper and kind.

Tornleg is the mentor all the new-claws want as their teacher. He is wise and calm, kind and fair. His past experiences have taught him many things that help him relate to young cats, he views his own mistakes as his best teaching tools, using his disability and the story of his injury as examples for trainees. He can be quiet and somber at times, but always brightens up while training a new-claw.

 Rowanstorm is close to completing his training as a Mentor, but actually has yet to actually teach a new-claw! He knows he is ready though, he takes pride in his colony and loves the idea of training the next set of Rangers. He is extremely good-natured and accommodating to the point that he tends not to share his feelings so that no one is inconvenienced. His bright attitude and kindness will make him a great Mentor.

Snowfeather is in training to become a Mentor and spends a lot of time with Stonestep. She is one of the cats that Stonestep actually likes due to the fact that she was Stonestep’s new-claw as she struggled through ranger training. In fact, Stonestep calls Snowfeather “Oak Colony’s Gem!” because of how Snowfeather was able to impress her by bringing back a tourmaline crystal during her Sundown Challenge, a difficult and rare feat. Snowfeather can be unsure of herself at times, but she feels that this will help her gain insight into any new-claws who struggle with confidence themselves. From unbound to Mentor, Snowfeather is truly an Oak Colony success story. 

This group of five has an interesting dynamic with each other and can sometimes be a bit cliquey as they all get along and view each other highly. They hold daily meetings at sunset to communicate about training techniques and new-claws that are struggling. They are a united force in Oak Colony.

"Big sis Lacie! Big sis Lacie!" Lily was excited, jumping up and down. "Wanna see me climb a tree all by myself?" Bandersnatch was by her side, nuzzling her leg affectionately. (from lily!!)

        IT SURPRISED LACIE THAT she didn’t see her brother sleeping against one of the oaktrees. She had been spending her time making a new music piece and as she was almost done with finishing the lyrics befitting the song, she wanted to show Oswald her masterwork! But.... much to her excitement, she didn’t find him anywhere! Today was supposed be his off day so where did he go? She thought of many possibilities---was he being dragged by his responsibilties again? Did Levi throw more tasks at him as a way for him having no time to spend with his sister?

        And much to her disappointment... Jack was gone too and he had been away for several days. Normally she wouldn’t care, she would brush it off that he was being busy with other things but these days a part of her was longing to see him, to talk with him and to share her passion with music with him. 

        She didn’t understand why she was feeling this and she wanted to almost admit... she started to miss him----a familiar and uncommon voice intruded her unwanted thoughts and she was grateful for it---now her mind didn’t swirl across unpleasantries but to the attention of the cheerful Lily. 

        “Are you sure that’s a good idea, my sweet Lily?” Lacie smiled, her eyes staring at Lily like a hawk. “I’m not going to stop you~ If you get hurt, don’t tell me I didn’t warn you. Do you remember what happened to Jack the other day? He could barely walk for a week.”
