Something something about us being shown Eddie developing his cooking skills before buck - that were shown Eddie being able to cook a full meal (and bake) before were shown Buck doing the same thing. And something something about that foreshadowing Eddie having his full feelings realisation before buck.
Eddie’s cooking skills are on display in 5x11 outside looking in when he cooks dinner for buck Chris and Taylor - and he’s baked cupcakes for desert as well.
But we don’t actually get shown buck cooking a full meal until the 6x01 lasagne. He’s only got as far as breakfast foods when he makes Maddie an omelet in 2x04 stuck but we don’t get shown him actively cooking again until he makes the lasagne.
After that its hit and miss on the cooking and baking front for buck - burnt lasagne in a 7 and I’m assuming his baking isnt that great in 8x07 by the way Chim has one bite and then pushes the loaf away before he masters the ziti, garlic bread etc in 807 and then later the scones in 8x08.
#there’s something about the idea that Eddie has the space and some outside help and got results quickly#that once given some help from Linda he picked up cooking quickly and easily#and he’s good at it - playing on the idea that Eddie doesn’t need to look outside of Chris and Buck and that he’ll figure that out#but buck has been struggling with it - he’s more hit and miss - he starts to get somewhere - finds a recipe that works#the baking being bad but getting better symbolises his recovery from hs failed relationship - he’s getting better#the scone being good and connected to Eddie - and the first lasagne being good and connected to Eddie#is showing us that it’s Eddie that is good for buck - that when it’s connected to Eddie it’s successful#but that buck hasn’t grasped that yet#and that it’s connected to buck - we see Eddie cook only for Chris and for buck (and Taylor but she doesn’t count really)#bucks gonna get there when he figures out he already has the perfect recipes - he just keeps trying to improve on what he already has#and he needs to recognise that and then he will figure out he loves Eddie and what they already have#so yeah the coooking and baking is a metaphor for buck and Eddie’s respective journeys to feelings realisations#I love a good metaphor and especially good ones#buckle up for bucks bumpy road ahead#food and cooking skills as a metaphor for love#Maddie raised buck - that’s why she’s breakfast food#and the scone is actually the only thing of bucks we’ve seen Eddie eat - the last thing - so buck getting the scone right is telling#it’s suggesting bucks baking adventures are over - telling us Eddie is the last - Eddie is the right one#so I don’t think we’ll be seeing buck cooking again until he’s figured out that he’s in love with Eddie#or if we do it will go badly#until he realises he’s in love with Eddie#I love this show so much#911 abc#evan buckley#eddie diaz#buddie

A Batfam AU where instead of going to get Dick to be Robin again Tim uses necromancy to bring Jason back from the dead. He just leaves Jason on the Wayne doorstep with a 'do better this time' sticky note. Batman can't find out who did it and Tim stays his little latchkey self with semi ok but distant parents (cus canonical they weren't really abusive just not there which isn't good but they could be worse). His parents bring him along on trips but again they love him but they just leave him to do as he pleases. so in Paris he ends up still getting trained by Lady Shiva. This keeps going and Tim just keeps reviving batfam members, if they fake their deaths and Tim tracks them down to check on them. They still have no idea who their shadow is, they can't find him, Tim likes it this way. Bruce goes MIA and Red Robin happens just minus Tim actually being Red Robin. The JLA doorstep gets a passed-out Batman with a 'I can't believe I have to keep doing this shit' sticky note on his head.

I don't know the exact time since I wasn't really keeping track#anyways this would've come out quicker if I hadn't put it off for a few days but I really needed to take a break since it got frustrating#the bg and skeleton were already done but I was really stuck on what to do with chuuya and I even scrapped the original pose I had for him#it was too difficult given my current skill set. but I can see how i've improved since my last major piece (aka my own dtiys)#but yeah. also disregard his gloves I literally forgot that and I didn't want to detail his actual hands so. gloves it was. yeah.#for my sake just pretend that he either forgot or just activated corruption suddenly so then he'll rip them off anyways#still drew his hat blowing away amidst the flurry of feathers though#oh also this is 16 chuuya. 22 chuuya's hair PAINS me to draw so I went the gay little ponytail route#design notes include making his coat have fur to reference how he was based off of a bearded vulture#also his wings were very fun to draw. If its not too invasive, can I ask for brushes or other resources you may recommend? I'm plenty aware they don't make an artist good, but I'm always on the hunt for the perfect ones!
Oh, I am always on what feels like a never-ending hunt for brushes, I only use Procreate these days so these are Procreate brushes, at the minute I am really really enjoying these brushes called Frappe Pencil I love The Frappe Pencil Neo and Double Frappe smooth, you can see me using them in the last sketches I posted I think I solely used them in the drawings of Dhalia! I also really like the water-coloured brushes from Fatima Mandouh. There are some brushes that I also use a lot that are from paid brush packs like the TGTS - Scratchy squeegee and GvW InkAmigo Waterson Dry (that's the one I use to draw Horizon Walkers) the Jingsketch brushes are also really nice. I also like a few of the base brushes from Procreate, I love Nikko Rull, but I did edit mine a bit to be a wee bit more textured, I also like Eaglehawk, Tinderbox and Oberon. Resouces wise I use Magic Poser if I am having trouble getting a pose down, as well as taking reference photos of myself. I also use an app called Freeform that is kind like an inspo board where you can see everything at once, I use that for like background character outfit references and city references. I hope that's helpful! I tend to jump pencils quite a lot, so if there is ever an illustration i do that you want the breakdown of what pencils I used if I can remember which one it was I am happy to share!
#pencils may not improve someones skill per se but they can inspire someone and help them improve#having a good pencil always helps me and can inspire me so its good to share them!#if anyone else has any pencil reccomendations please share! #hi! im alive and back and etc.#six the musical#six the musical fanart#katherine howard#thinking of that post going 'i think eventually you become the person you needed most' and like maybe that's the thing with my art#this started out as a redraw and <improvement meme> i think i've finally reached the stage where i'm making the things that my younger self#aspired to create. like i can do this now! i've reached That level of technical skill! tiny me would be so proud. it's very gratifying#redraw from august this year actually. i've made a surprising amount of improvement HAHA maybe it was the adamandi stuff getting me#back into digital rendering. i think that obsession has quietly slipped away but yknow. one never truly leaves a fandom. just less intensit#also speaking of old fandoms! we're back with the six stuff haha. as of writing i'm in the midst of blog revamp- figuring out how to chill#multifandom status doesn't mean ditch all the old stuff ! but i do feel much freer and less stressed. i think hiatus has been good for me#notes on this piece particularly: redraw about cutting hair and thinking of the lyric above. also lowkey &j ref + pinterest poem excerpts#of female suffering. and maybe a dash of amanda heng let's walk inspo. this work is really just full of contradictions..#1. the mirror and cutting hair as an act of self liberation 2. the & is part of the lyric but also a nod to &j (in another iteration it was#pink but the white looked better) and like. &j is really all !!! girl power!!! etc. and i was like hmmmm. also matching pink shiny aes#3. the frame as a cage; the mirror as a self reflection idea (ie. saville's propped insp) but also as a sign of vanity. 4. sparkly costume#and pretty pose- read one too many poems about women feeling like they have to be pretty even in their suffering. something i wanted to#explore. and also in 5. the show itself... all you wanna do is. despite all the dancing and pink and sparkly the content of the song is#darker. and even though it's a story of her suffering it's still presented as a shiny fun pop song and ajshdhfhfh ok... 6. the lyrics fall#outside the frame. sort of a caught inbetween. sort of a trapped in the narrative and yet#within the frame it's all. vaguely handwavy breaking free vibes. like i said contradictions?#7. cutting off the long ponytail vs the pull my hair lyric at the end. yeah#8. the blocked off & looks a bit like scissors. positioned to cut right at the neck#anyways yeah irl remains hectic! but if i get around to more doodles they'll appear here :)
