Hyacinthleaves is a little fanfiction blog that I'm creating because I honestly want to give back to the fanfiction community. I've been reading them since I was pretty young and I think that non-canon creations take so much skill and patience. Since I've been reading them for so long, I think that its time to give back (even in a very small and simple way) and consistently try to spend time writing some myself. Obviously I've been writing them on and off but I just wanted them to have a space of their own again as well. We start again!
»»———- ———-««
Rules:
-Headcanons and imagines only for now. Maybe I'll write a fanfic or two or a matchup event every once in a while but not normally -Only Character x Reader or Character x Reader x Character. -No NSFW currently. And I just mean nothing too inappropriate. If you're not sure, just ask anyway. I'll let you know -Don't request more than three characters unless its like a harem situation. -Try to check the masterlist and see if I've done certain asks before, just to save me time. It's not that big of a deal though -Don't be rude because sometimes I do have the time to respond to it. It won't be pretty. -Don't ask for race specific stuff unless you're black. Why? Because I'm black. And I also don't have the most time in the world to research every culture that yall show up with, even though I'd love to. -I have the right to straight up refuse whatever ask I don't want to do. Usually it'll just happen if I can't think of anything for it or I'm too uncomfortable with it. Typically not that big of a deal. »»———- ———-««
Notes:
-Platonic asks are not my forte. Don't ask me why. I don't know. -I'm so busy so I might not get to every ask in a timely manner. But I also get kinda lazy so feel free to just be like "Did my ask get lost? it was about _" to get me moving because I do have the habit of avoiding things. -I'm silly guys, feel free to talk to me. I don't typically bite. -If you have any ideas of fandoms I should get into, shows I should watch, games I should get into etc. Let me know! »»———- ———-««

Just prior to everyone’s return from Windshed, Lady Yancy finds herself alone with Lord Phos. He curtly inquires about her private order to send Sir Verte. The masked man glimmers quietly in irritation as Yancy bluntly retorts that she did it to protect their work. She refuses to let her lordship to get a word in once she gets going. Without skipping a beat, the stern right hand harps on Phos’ sloppiness concerning his handling of the mission he bestowed to Astrid. That in all the excitement, Lord Phos had lost sight for a moment of his real goals. That curing the plague sort of slipped out of his mindset in favor of Astrids’ development. He understands quickly once it’s clear he cannot deny Yancy’s reasoning behind her actions. He dismisses her as she claims that there’s other things to take care of.
As soon as she exits his private quarters, Lady Yancy heaves a heavy sigh of relief. She’s in utterly disbelief in the way she had spoken to her lordship. Naturally, she can’t dawdle for too long as she’s immediately informed that Sir Verte has returned. When she arrives outside to meet with him, she’s unimpressed with the three extra...’guests’. Sir Verte gives a vague yet adbridged version of events. He regrets this as his superior reams into him for further details. Especially with the young master in his arms, asleep and unaware what’s going on. It’s soon revealed that Sir Verte had indeed, fucked up. Yancy orders him to take Astrid to the medical wards as she drags the other three into holding cells.
Sir Verte essentially gets chewed out by everyone as he completes his tasks. Firstly, Nurse Crimson flips his shit when once again- discovers that impalement and his associate have been involved. Astrid gets taken care without hesitation. Sir Verte then returns to Lady Yancys’ side to elaborate on the mission. Yancy rips him a new one as she freaks out about the fresh puncture wound in his belly. As a result, he’s sentenced to babysit his least favorite captive- Sir Olric. Karnefur and Ursalis share a room together as it’s been deemed easier for everyone to keep them there.
Everyone settles in the night, well mostly everyone. Lord Phos checks in on Astrid during the early hours of morning. He’s unmasked for once, uncloaked as well which spooks Nurse Crimson. The frightened cleric hardly can speak as he studies the deformed lord’s shaded body. It seems his limbs are mostly metal and his face’s obscured by the wretched sins of his research. He tries to keep it together as Phos discusses Astrid’s condition and recovery process. Crimson gives direct answers as the shambling corpse watches over his dear pupil. Lord Phos takes his leave once he’s satisfied with his chat. Nurse Crimson nearly stumbles over as he goes back to work, trying to push the image of what he just saw out of his mind...

(These updates may be a little more sporadic as I am working through the on going crisis at home. Anyways, enjoy and thanks for reading!)
Despite having impaled the young master, Sir Verte is trapped as Astrid tries to finish him off. Dripping with the sickly ichor of plague, the feral godling nearly infects his fellow subordinate. Suddenly, he’s rendered immobile by the siren calls of twin voices. Ursalis and Karnefur sooth his restless desire driven state into a gradual slumber. This act has saved not only the scaly swordsman. It also has saved Astrid, who’s treated gingerly in the aftermath.
Sir Verte has his men seize the remains of Alos and bind Sir Olric to prevent any more oversights. Somberly, he comforts the now dreaming lad as he carefully takes him into his gloved arms. He slips a sedative into him discreetly to avoid further issues until they’ve returned to base. He turns to the mystics and thanks them for their assistance. Without missing a beat, Sir Verte asserts that they must come. Mostly to avoid leaving witnesses to be questioned and to gather information from them.
Ursalis is quick to deny his request only to be denied of her denial by Karnefur. With that, they become reluctant ‘prisoners’ as they travel with the party. Sir Verte makes it clear that they’ve a long trek that’ll span for almost a week. He doesn’t want anyone dilly dallying in the back. After all, any lagging could resort to what happened to the party before this.
Arguments arise from the siblings’ constant bickering with each other. Ursalis believes that they would have been fine. That they shouldn’t have to put up with being chained up. Karnefur coldly retorts that if she hadn’t provoked Alos or Astrid, none of this would have happened. On top that, going with the party is the only way they could’ve left that place reasonably without too much trouble. Naturally, the indignant sibling squints her eyes bitterly at him as she retorts with 1. the bird’s dead and 2. belittling Astrid based off his appearance. Her equally irritated brother also points out that she barely helped to make the whole situation less stressful. She lusted over Sir Olric, who took his sweet time and it nearly killed him. Ursalis defends that stoic man, stating he’s doing his best.
It is cut short with the biting tongue of Sir Verte’s curt call. He insists they keep on moving as they chat. He casually tries to finesse answers from his new traveling companions. Karnefur is about to answer that. Alas, he’s cut off and Ursalis refuses to give the man an inch. She insists it has nothing to do with him or his party. Serpent eyes leer suspiciously at them as he rebuttals with the contrary. He has been sent by his superiors to handle any sort of issues that arose. Apparently, Astrid hadn’t contacted back when he was supposed which lead to Sir Vert being sent.
Karnefur inquires further to his horror, had Astrid not been soothed; Sir Verte would’ve had to dispose of him. He clinically explains that Astrid’s a high risk due the plague affecting his ability to properly stabilize and regulate magic. Absorbing tons of arcane energies in one shot could prove fatal like earlier as he went bonkers. Of course there’s other factors, nonetheless; Astrid would have to be killed if he proved to be too dangerous.
That doesn’t sit well with the passive psychic as he prods for a reason why such a person is sent out like this. Sir Verte vaguely alludes that his ‘lord’ trusts Astrid as his student to conduct all sorts of things for the sake of ‘research’. He then nonchalantly turns the tables back on the twins as his question still hasn’t been answered. Ursalis once again, cuts off her poor brother and gets them into deeper trouble as Sir Verte insists that they comply. Especially after pointing out that it is indeed, his business if they’re involved with Astrid and Alos...

(I thank you for your patience and even if it’ll take a while longer yet for bigger releases, please enjoy the latest update of Plague)
Sir Verte reveals himself to our gobsmacked crew as he explains why he’s here at all. Apparently, Lady Yancy had grown morbidly concerned that she ordered him to make sure things were running smoothly. The current situation is contrary to that. He sneers at Olric who calls him an idiot as he collapses before a clearly ravenous Astrid. Things escalate as it becomes quickly clear to Sir Verte the boy has lost his mind. That the plague and power he has devoured have driven him further into this twisted delirium. All he can hear is the diseased man’s wretchedly distorted cries to consume.
As suddenly as his associate’s arrival, Astrid lunges towards the unconscious meal. Sir Verte promptly combats him as sword point. He demands that the godling stand down, despite realizing such a command is futile to a feral mind. The bout starts swiftly as the two clash like lightning striking the earth. It’s abundantly clear Sir Verte may be out match as Astrid gradually tries to break through his defenses.
Karnefur feels horribly responsible as Ursalis relishes in this mess. She assures him that despite how messed up this is, it’ll work out in the end. Her usually timid twin points out that isn’t a certainty. That despite being able to have visions, they’re not always 100% accurate. The haughty lass scoffs as she rebuttals his valid worries. She claims there’ll always be one constant in their visions- they share the end together.
Karnefur calls her out, believing it is a lie since right now- it seems things will get worse if they don’t step in. Ursalis retorts with it’s more like a half truth. She goes on to compare their visions to the plague. That they are destined to be come truth, regardless of what happens. Being done with her nonchalant attitude, the taller sibling chews her out. He iterates in a stern, cold voice that if they don’t do anything. If they don’t take responsibility, they’ll die. They’ll die if not by Astrid’s rampage, then they’ll die to their family for their stupidity. The last bit was enough to scare Ursalis into agreeing, despite her tout comments.
All the while, Sir Verte can barely keep up with Astrid’s overwhelming strength. He dodges and just as his young master is about to strike again, he impales him. Whether it is a reflex or unintentional. Sir Verte apologizes as his electrified lance pierces through Astrid’s abdomen...

(This was a bitch to write, mostly from a perspective; this was my best shot. Sorry for the wait)
Umbrol warns sir Olric that they’re passing by their potential demise, Astrid who’s supposedly sleeping. Of course, the urges tempt the sleeping godling to stir and turn towards that sweet- sweet magic source. It doesn’t help with the mad god’s anxiety as they stroll pass. Sir Verte urges his prisoner to keep moving as to not make himself tardy for their date with Lord Phos. Nurse Crimson notices a small spike in Astrid’s magic levels before they revert as Olric is taken away.
After some time, the blindfolded swordsman is present to his masked warden. Lord Phos questions the amount of restraints applied to his...’guest’. Sir Verte tries to argue it is for safety reasons. Thinking it may get their stoic captive to be more talkitive, the blindfold and the arm restraints barring the anti magic mittens/leash come off. Olric coyly teases Verte as he removes the blindfold. Hateful hisses escape thin lips as Sir Verte makes it clear he’s not messing around. Quickly reverting to his usual blank stare, Sir Olric quietly glances around as he’s questioned about his part in this mess. Between Phos trying to pass himself as patient and Verte’s insistence, the dead eyed blonde tunes them out for a bit.
He briefly recalls his orders, which slowly turn to many-many ‘blahs’. All the while, Lord Phos is seemingly impressed by this lad’s determination to keep silent. Sir Verte earnestly believes the man is indeed- fucking with them. So much so, he restates what he personally witnessed upon finding Olric. Of how the mad man tries to Astrid and was nearly eaten by Astrid. Anything before that would be impossible to get unless Olric talks. Verte even hints that his selectively mute bane will refuse  and have to be forced to chatting. His displeasure laid bare to his lordship and Olric.
With a small ‘hmph’, freckled eyes tiresomely glare as thoughts of ‘this is nothing’ ring out from silence. Olric proceeds to flatly retort that Verte’s words are a waste of time. He also implies this interrogation is a waste of time and could careless of what happens. This impudence insults the serpentine overseer as he grabs the little shit by neck, snarling obscenities. Olric merely smiles mockingly, daring him to fucking break his neck. Of course, Lord Phos quickly puts an end to all that with his order. Sir Verte backs off, visibly seething as Olric blankly stares back at him.
As Lord Phos asserts himself, below them- Astrid awakens from his prolonged sleep. Groggily, he sits up as Nurse Crimson is caught by surprise. Looking down at his stabilizers which seem to be sealed at the moment, Astrid is greeted by his cautious caretaker. He is asked about his condition, at the moment- he isn’t sure. It’s not like he’s in pain, nor it’s like he’s totally healthy. The sleepy lad inquires of the duration of his slumber. It’s been a week since he nearly devoured Olric and eaten Alos.
He then asks to see Lord Phos, wishing to report to him like usual. Crimson informs him that isn’t possible at the moment and insists he rest a little more. Astrid hasn’t the energy to argue and yet, he desires to go up. Commenting he’s a little stiff from sleeping in bed. The nurse assures him that their lord would love to see him in the morning. He agrees whilst looking up, sensing Umbrol’s presence above his weary little head...

Astrid recalls what he can quietly. He and Olric were once close supposedly. They were always hungry from a lack of food, much like ‘their parents’. It was clear that Astrid wasn’t really related. The two ‘brothers’ were subject to constant verbal abuse and neglect. A narrative was formed, one of them had stolen something and it’d bring great suffering. Olric seemed kinder to him compared to the two malignant fools. He wished constantly that they’d run away, to a better life. At some point, Olric had an argument with his parents- Astrid couldn’t recall what it was about that time. He does recall one thing before the fire, Olric had changed. He doesn’t know why, though suspects it now to be either the god within him or...he became resentful. It didn’t matter, it all ended the same- with him leaving Astrid to die at the age of 8.
Olric is visibly torn for a moment, seeing his foe shedding tears as he asks him why. He tries to give an answer, he seems unsure of himself. Hence, he drops it completely in favor to putting this 15 year mess to bed. The urges overtake their host once more, after he accuses the god within Olric of messing with his mind. As the two ex-siblings ready themselves for combat, the twins are chattering amongst themselves. Karnefur is disgusted by Ursalis’ behavior. She revels in her vision coming true, the fight above their heads. She urges him to come with her to the apex. The mortified twin believes they’ll meet their death up there. It seems like she doesn’t care. He feels guilty for not going with Astrid earlier.
The two ‘brothers’ exchange violent blows, as one tries to best the other without mercy. Olric’s worn from his earlier fights with Alos yet he goes on. He goes to cleave his once younger brother in twain. Astrid counters by catching the magical sword between his jagged claws. He’s embroiled with his own thoughts. He cannot decide if he’s angry at the fact he finally remembered his history with this nut or that his urges are basically taking over his body. The contract urges Olric still to flee, knowing it’ll be consumed by this terrifying parasite. Olric’s deluded, dogged determination denies such a request. It curses him out over this. In an attempt to end it quickly, the two meld into the darkness.
Naturally upon seeing him turn into resembling the plague, Astrid sort of panics. He attempts to put distance between himself and it. Failing to realize that’s merely a distraction as Olric slithers from the shadows to behead him. He almost gets away with it, as the young godling snaps his head around upon hearing his voice. Suddenly, Olric drops to the floor after being shot with a small bolt of lightning. Stepping out of the main door way, Sir Verte arrives with a posse of Lord Phos’ men and the twins in his custody. In seething silence, Olric glares at the man who he impaled ages ago. Although relieved, Astrid’s barely keeping it together as he still hungers...

Alos promptly rams Astrid towards the ceiling, marking the start of his agonizing thrashing. The young godling struggles to stabilize himself as he’s thrown around like an oversized chew toy. The mad god quietly acknowledges that soon he’ll be dead as the plague creeps from within. It slowly eats away at his feathers and flesh as he attempts to finish this for once and for all. He laments that compared to the other gods, his life was rather short. He recalls all the warriors whose lives he’s taken. He rather die the way they did, fighting without regrets. To him, it’s far better than being consumed by something bigger. Just then, he realizes too late that irony has come to prove him wrong.
Astrid is overwhelmed by his urges once more, a result from prolonged exposure to Alos’ power and the immense pain he’s feeling now. The urge consumes him so much, it exudes an aura of pure and unfiltered power. Karnefur and Ursalis feel it permeate their very being, almost mistaking it for someone else. The men Lord Phos had send are horribly confused as Astrid’s energy overwhelms their tracker. Even the usually calm and stoic Sir Olric, is in a state of fearful awe. The other being inside of him urges to keep quiet. Astrid, all he can think in this moment that he must feed. Much like with Firrus, he wastes no time absorbing Alos’ magic and life force. As he fades into nothingness, Alos wonders if Astrid’s...then- it’s silent.
As the rotted remains fall upon the aged floors, the visibly shaken swordsman converses with his contract. They’re arguing over whether they should leave or settle the score. Olric’s stubbornness overrides the many warnings that said contract gives to him. He points his cursed sword towards the ‘demon’ looming over its fresh kill. He claims that this is an old score he must settle, 15 years at least in the making. Astrid turns his head, clearly not himself as he remarks coldly he’s next.
A morbid curiosity rouses questions from the ravenous being, pointing out that there’s yet another god- it’s inside of his next challenge. He deduces that Olric’s been afflicted with the side effects of such a ‘contract’. He believes Olric would better off if he just took it from him. The callous blonde ignores this and proclaims that Astrid would be better off dead. Something clicks after that for our deformed protagonist. He pushes for more answers. Olric earnestly expresses his disgust and with a few words- triggers a memory long forgotten. A mutual agreement that they’re sick of each other, as Astrid at last remembers this familiar man- prior to six months ago- prior to all this. He and Olric were once family....

(At least, the last two updates from the mother of all updates- hope ya’ll like it!)
Our intrepid duo gaze skywards as Alos ascends his own towering roost. Astrid correctly assumes that the mad god is baiting them. Why else wouldn’t he have fought them right there and then. Karnefur quivers before the immense climb they must make. Any second thoughts of moving backward are dashed as the gate behind them closes itself shut. The young godling assures the older that despite being afraid, they should proceed as they both have duties to do. With that small bit of confidence, they ascend Alos’ tower.
Alos returns to the apex, where he taunts his hidden prey. Prematurely gloating as he makes an absolute ass out of himself. Sir Olric bides his time, as he tells himself that his injuries are nothing. The diseased creature implies that he should have died ages ago from their first bout. That he only stands now because he’s just a shell with something else within him. Alos bluntly points out he has others coming. He wants this whole thing over with. Of course, he turns his back to him unintentionally. Sir Olric impales him with his blackened blade. Coldly smiling as he repeats to himself- “This is nothing...” Alos calls him a coward for using such a lowly tactic.
Astrid and Karnefur in the meanwhile, move upwards in the somewhat neglected dungeon. Nearing the apex, they find Ursalis beckoning to her twin. Her introduction is petty, laced with backhanded compliments and praise to Karnefur. This seems to be the norm, as the introverted sibling doesn’t take much heed to her attitude. Astrid makes himself known to her. He doesn’t like the way she’s acting towards her brother. Ursalis delights in ticking him off as they have a little argument while Karnefur is begging them to stop. It gets particularly nasty when Astrid scoffs at her arrogance- believing her powers make her entitled. Ursalis smugly calls him a child, claiming that Karnefur only came because he’s small and feeble.
Miffed beyond all belief, Astrid goes ahead while leaving the twins behind. Karnefur chides his sister for her blantant disrespect. He’s dumbfounded when she reveals that was a bit to get them alone together. Ursalis has no worries about her situation as she takes a moment to drool over Sir Olric. Karnefur is a little bit disheartened by that. He even points out that the swordsmans isn’t exactly doing alright- it’s been nearly a week since he came. His concerns are tossed aside by his snide sibling, Ursalis implies that something horrid will happen above their heads. Karnefur again, chides her for her seeming lack of concern.
Upon reaching the apex, Astrid is immediately confronted by the shadowy Sir Olric. The dead eyed warrior refers to him as ‘lil demon’ as his next contender claims he has no time for this. Unfortunately, it sees his path to Alos is blocked by this strange person. Funnily enough, Astrid never did catch his name the first time they got entangled with each other’s paths. Hence, when he asks- he’s caught off guard by the reply. He senses something within this peculiar adversary, something all too familiar. That realization is cut off by Alos screeching to high heaven. He despises being ignored above all else. Alos without hesitation initiates another fight.
He goes straight for Sir Olric, as he was the one who stabbed him the back earlier. Quick thinking saves the emotionless husk as he blocks razor sharp talons with his strange weapon. Astrid marvels at the sheer absurdity of this before noticing the gaping hole on Alos’ back. Obviously, a plan is formed purely around that fact. Yet, there’s a problem with that- Alos is in the air and there’s no way to reach him like that. Alos ignores Astrid as he attempts to crush Olric with his full weight on his ebony daggers. Hissing pure venom and vitriol as he swiftly slams his opponent down like he was a rag doll.
Once he’s sure he has the ‘husk’ of a man under his clutches, he slowly breaks some bones. Surely, Alos is savoring his victory as he ponders why Olric isn’t dead yet. He muses over his own demise that slowly creeps up, knowing the plague will soon reduce him into nothingness. He despises having wasted his time the past week with this...this pathetic thing. His train of thought is interrupted by cold mockery. The usually silent man mutters how he cannot simply perish, as he has a sort of contract. Alos drops his guard briefly, quietly realizing that he knows the person beneath the ‘husk’. Just as he lets out the name ‘Umbrol’, he’s hit with a high concentration of magical discharge. He glimmers bitterly, enraged at he gazes upon his diminutive attacker.
Astrid pities Alos supposedly yet happily takes his death threat as a challenge. The ever determined lad lists off all the things this wretched bird had done as he suffered from his illness. His words are tossed aside. Alos is all too eager to fight some more, and get it over with. Thankfully, so is Astrid as he reminds himself he has a job to do. Thus, Alos and Astrid approach each other with the intention of only one shall remain standing...

(I’ll be uploading the last two updates tomorrow, so enjoy these for today~)
Astrid goes over what he knows of Alos and Windshed. How the god valued warriors and fighting skill over anything else. How supposedly Alos’s madness consumed him so much that he destroyed his own worship town with a powerful storm. The young researcher mourns the loss of what was a truly special piece of Hylum’s history.  He isn’t aware of Alos dealing with Sir Olric still after almost a week. Yet, he notices someone has been watching him. Astrid points his stabilizes at the shivering stalker, demanding he show himself.
Karnefur holds up his hands to prove he’s not threat, yet makes the mistake revealing he knows who Astrid is. Upon hearing this, he gives his observer a minute before blasting him into oblivion. The extremely abridged version is that he’s a mystic who foresaw him coming. Astrid cuts the time in half, believing he’s just messing with him. Panicking, Karnefur also confirms why this young man is here- Alos. That little bit is just enough for Astrid to get curious. The two head back to Karnefur’s tent. Astrid is naturally skeptical yet cannot risk anything getting in the way of his task.
Once they’re there, the two godlings try to clear things up for one another. Anxiety cruelly takes hold of Karnefur as he explains his situation to his guest. His twin sister was taken after they tried to appease Alos one month ago. He expresses great heartache over this since he couldn’t do much and his fear got the better of him. He worries that she might get eaten or worse. Yet, he’s too afraid to go again after that day. Astrid doesn’t exactly take his word since he still hasn’t clarify how the hell he knew his name when they’ve never met before today. The fearful man explains that he and his sister Ursalis have the power to see visions-specifically they each get fragmented parts that become whole only when they with each other. This is how Karnefur knew Astrid’s name yet not and the order to find Alos- that’s it.
The skeptical lad is even more weary of his shaky host. He suspects that whole bit to be a cover for a spying operating. He also wants to believe yet, it’s all too simple to be actually true. So, logically he requires proof. It is quickly revealed that visions are often random and don’t always happen often. That answer nearly puts Karnefur in danger of Astrid’s assumption about spying. That is until, the mystic catches sight of the jewel around his neck. A sort of familiarity harkens to him as he reaches forward. The younger godling is caught off guard and can’t stop him from touching the jewel. Karnefur instinctively murmurs as a chant as Astrid is overwhelmed with visions of things- so many things.
He sees visions of memories, some he knows already and others- others that aren’t as clear. Astrid sheds tears as he feels Karnefur is peering into the depths of his soul. That he sees things that have been hidden under years of trauma. As it ends, Karnefur freaks out over the result of his little ‘episode’. Astrid finally believes him, vomiting a little from the immensely overpowering experience. A pounding headache forces him to hold his head for a bit.
Karnefur apologizes profusely, accidentally calling him a kid while just repeating himself. After calming himself down a little, he realizes he cannot possibly let Astrid go on his own. If that alone was enough to make the lad sick, he dreads what Alos would do to him. This sparks a little courage from within, a resolve to make things right. Karnefur implies he wants to come along with him to make sure he’s alright Astrid tries to brush his offer off, as he feels he’s wasted a lot of time sitting around.
Yet, Karnefur insists. He knows that sir Olric has yet to return and fears the same fate would befall Astrid. They have a bit of a back and forth over how Alos has taken countless lives of many- if not all those who challenged him. It ends with Karnefur wanting to help him, wanting to save his sister. He almost says something yet stops himself short. Astrid reluctantly agrees only if he lets go of his hands. Just as they leave, Astrid ponders to himself- the visions he saw. One in particular, one that makes him unsure of himself.
Meanwhile, Ursalis chats dryly with Alos. She doesn’t seem fazed by his threats or by the possibility she’ll never escape. Instead, she mocks and teases the wretched bird- knowing fully well he’s infected with the plague. Alos tries to assert his authority over, implying he’d take her life. The vindictively prisoner lashes back with he’d be eaten by the ‘king of the gods’ if he tried to take her life or Karnefurs. This revelation shakes the dying bird. She switches the topic to Sir Olric, the object of her strange fetishization. Alos retorts coldly that dead eyed bastard has been hiding and toying with him. His frustrations are dismissed with a simple ‘feh’ from Ursalis. She hints he better settle the score as she implies he’ll have more coming soon. He runs off in sheer excitement, like a little kid.
Finding herself alone again, Ursalis gets a little curious about how things will turn out. She hints to herself since she has visions and foresaw tragedy- she smiles in sheer disgusting pleasure. Knowing damn well what might occur. Even as her twin and Astrid come up the towers bridge- Ursalis is rife with unsavory anticipation- whether she’s proven wrong or right with her part of the vision.
Her rescuers are directly challanged by Alos himself as go outside to cross the tower bridge. Astrid knows the mad god is ill and tells him he intends to take him down. Alos sneers at Karnefur, recognizing him as the worm who cowered away. Caring little for him, baits the poor man into following. With that, Alos ascends to the highest apex of his roost- waiting for these two ‘fools’ to come...

(I’ll be dropping the last 4 updates this weekend, as part of the mass upload!)
It’s been 5 months since the fire and incident at the abandoned town of Muna. Lord Phos and Lady Yancy converse extensively over their concerns surrounding their goal. The loyal attendant wonders if they’ll ever be able to cure the rampant plague ravishing Hylum. Her dear lord seems optimistic with all things considered, such as the loss of their main research facility. She chides him for bringing up theories as they don’t really contribute to their situation. Of course, Phos counters that theories once proven can be considered fact. His hopefulness seems to stem from a new found confidence in his ward. He then notices his dear pupil Astrid’s waiting at his doorway. The young godling delivers his report to his superiors. Lady Yancy as aghast of his growth.
He speaks of the last target, Alos- the wind god. Alos had reported been seen destroying it’s worship town of Windshed. His masked benefactor marvels at how he’s grown into this position. Astrid insists on a large party to secure Alos for their research. The young man claims he could prepare a 30 man unit to be mobilized if Lord Phos wishes of it. He’s denied as his master has faith in him to do it on his own. He wishes to test the grown godling’s mettle after consuming Firrus and Kelpret. Naturally, Yancy objects as this suggestion is a terrible risk to take at a time like this. Phos casually reminds them both that since the incident 5 months ago, they’re a little under staffed. The masked man even encourages Astrid with praise and recognition of his skills. He also offers a smaller unit to back him up, if needed. This eases Astrid reluctantly enough that he’ll follow though. As he’s dismissed goes to prepare, Yancy quietly worries how he’ll actually hold up.
Meanwhile, Sir Olric has been sent off to Windshed on orders from Lord Astirov. He’s greeted by the blathering- stuttering mystic Lord Karnefur. He mundanely spaces out a bit as this poor godling explains what’s been going on. Apparently, Alos has lost his mind. From destroying most of the buildings to straight up slaughtering everything on sight- it’s been an absolute mess. Karnefur even brings up that his beloved twin sister Ursalis had been taken when they tried to appease Alos themselves. It becomes quickly apparent to Olric that this guy is a total coward. Not that he cares much except that he has a job to do. With the boisterous cry from the wretched god himself, the quiet swordsman departs with little word. He catches a little bit of the frightened man’s mutters, a hint of things to come perhaps?
A week passes before Astrid enters Windshed proper. He had to go ahead of the unit to scoop things out, yet it seems they may have gotten lost for the time being. The first thing he notices is a fowl odor wafting all around him. He wonders in the cloud heavy ruins, marveling of what was Windshed prior to its end. He’s almost ambushed by the remaining folk who have been overtaken by the plague. Thankfully, Astrid is able to scare them off before they do anything for now. Alos’ aura confirms his findings earlier, that Alos is all that actually remains in Windshed. He can sense the god suffering, it’s in incredible pain. Astrid ventures deeper into the ghost town in hopes of finding his target...

Epsilon and Marian tread carefully up the miasma ridden Mt. Mire. When they reach about the half way point to a clearing, something stirs in the shadows. Spotting danger, Epsilon does her job for once and gets Marian away in time from bolt of magic blasting em. Coming out of hiding, a masked felon coyly toys with them- making it clear they have no intention of letting either of them progress further without confrontation. Epsilon readies herself to combat this foul fiend as they hype themself up. She urges the princess to keep behind to avoid any major damage.
The skirmish of fantastical lightning versus a radiant shield offsets the dark and glum surroundings. The bodyguard elaborates that she doesn’t have the time or care to continue defending herself from these seemingly endless hits. Taking her up on her words and deciding to be a little cheeky, the disguised madman directs one of their magic around the barrier. Said stray shot is aimed directly at Marian. With little time to react, Epsilon ends up taking the hit- which ends up overpowering her before her precious charge.
Before passing out, Epsilon accidentally points out Marian’s true position. This leads to nearly one sided conversation where basically- the princess either comes along with this snake or end up like her body guard (possibly worse from how they phrase it). With little options, Marian at least tries to stall for time while plotting to use one of her items she packed as a means of distraction. Unfortunately, Marian isn’t really good at stalling as her only excuse for not going with masked dude is that she can’t and won’t leave Epsilon. The chat is cut short as a magic slash splints the mask into two, making it fall off of the stranger’s face.
Olric has come to save the day it seems. He really doesn’t care for the snarky comments or postering. His silence frustrates the hell out of his current opponent, who dramatically introduces themself as ‘Sir Verte’. Verte tries to hype up their fight, only to fall victim to semi silent protagonist syndrome. Marian is just confused and quite frankly, doesn’t know what to make of anything at this point. Refusing to speak, Olric kindly flips the bird at Sir Verte. Probably to provoke the idiot into starting the clash, which it works as the scaly bastard hisses angrily over his prideful presentation and the rude hand gesture. What will be the outcome...?

Here we go again:
Olric and Sir Verte duke it out as Marian tries to get Epsilon away from the fighting. Their movements are like lightning, blurs within the murky miasma. It doesn’t take long for things to get weird. Olric slowly morphs as dozens of eyes appear out of nowhere. Sir Verte isn’t so easily deterred, as he suspects it’s the miasma’s doing (since it’s known to cause wicked hallucinations). However, Olric starts speaking in tongues as he manages to get close to serpentine swordsman. He coldly speaks out for the first time in common, inquiring Verte if he’s afraid of the dark. Shaking off his bad gut feeling, Verte retorts as he pushes his opponent backwards with his sword.
Marian somehow gets Epsilon far enough away from the combat to rest easier. She catches the last minute or so of the fight as she witnesses electricity bursting forth from below underground. Olric dodges it skillfully prior to lunging forward. Sir Verte is quickly impaled as he hears his strong adversary murmur the word sleep to em. Despite being gravely injured, the clever snark vows revenge and curses the stoic hero under dogged breath. He pulls out a warp rod to hastily retreat, leaving the party of 3 utterly alone in the dark.
Shortly after that, Nurse Crimson receives word that his fellow co worker has been impaled and possibly bleeding to death. He reluctantly leaves Astrid as he initiates the healing chamber’s auto mode. This results the mind inhibitors in being removed. Crimson assures the sleeping lad he’d be back soon. He warps his way to his subordinate, unaware of the horror that slithers passed into the control room. The alarms sound off as they detect a foreign contaminate entering inside. A voice along with the boisterous blaring causes Astrid to stir from his mandated slumber. What he wakes up to is truly disturbing, a plague covered Firrus.
At first, Astrid still believes he’s dreaming since this couldn’t have possibly happened in such a heavily secured medical facility. The combination of the emergency sirens and the sickly beast desperately banging against the thick glass of his bed chamber swiftly confirms this in fact, isn’t a dream. Panicking, the young godling jumps out of bed to distance himself from potential death. He doesn’t quite understand why this thing is begging him to kill it. All he knows at the moment, he has to get out and avoid contact (as it would only make his own condition worse). He feverishly tries and engage a hidden escape device. Shatter glass clatters against once sterilized tiled flooring. A thick tube encapsulates Astrid just as the plague victim crawls inside his room....

(Sorry for the wait, I’ve been so busy as school is almost over and I hope you guys like it!)
Olric stoically withstands Sir Phate’s repetitive attempts in trying to start up a conversation. He finds this man absolutely obnoxious and refuses to give any inch on the matter. Knowing this, Phate is forced to summarize their mission. Simply put, people have become mad by the fear of the gods. They’re ‘puriging’ or out right murdering those afflicted with the plague. Olric quietly admits that there are those using this issue as a means to an end. With that mindset, he deems those doing so are making things worse.
All the while, Marian and Epsilon trail behind the massive hoard of soldiers. Their journey to the mountain path lasts until dusk overtakes the skies. The two travelers make their way to Mt.Mire proper as they diverge from the regular route heading toward’s a place only known as ‘Brunstine’. Of course, Marian runs ahead as Epsilon is trying to be cautious. She’s aware of the horror stories surrounding the place, how people never seem to return and the monsters that lurk. As they’re walking up the path, it seems Olric has begun to secretly trail behind them- perhaps out of pure suspicion.
As this takes place, Astrid finds himself in a strange place. Eyes resembling those of the plague litter the path before him. His form seems to blend right into the scenery, as he passes by ghastly flames. A voice that speaks in the god’s tongue calls out to him- begging him for help. Curious, Astrid wanders in search of its source. The flickering fires reveal fragmented bits of his life, nothing he can really recall. Ignoring that, he stumbles upon a dilapidated, miserable beast. It begs for him to take his life, as the plague is slowly dragging him down into the shade. It tells him that it’s dying and desires that Astrid to ‘consume’ it- as a means for trying to ‘live on’. It then reduces itself into brilliant yet fleeting flicker of a soul. Astrid finds himself crying as he kneels before his ‘meal’. Tears escape solemnly, as he questions- “Why does this...hurt so much...?”
Turns out, he’s in a dream as he’s sleep talking in his healing chamber. Lady Yancy points that out and then inquires about his vitals. After being assured by Nurse Crimson that the vitals are within the normal range, she orders him to sound the alarm if anything happens and perform standard procedures if things got awry. The last thing she tells her subordinate before leaving is that under no circumstances is Astrid to face any potential harm. Implying that Nurse Crimson should be ready to protect him if and when the time comes. With that done, the two proceed with business as usual...

Welcome to Act 2 of Plague, strap in because this is going to be a long one.
It has been over a month since the incident at the palace, Lord Phos has had his hands full with all sorts of things. Wanting an idea of what’s going on while he’s in his private study, Phos summons his trusted left hand- Lady Yancy and her “puppets”. He inquires her for a status report of their current findings and Astrid’s recovery progress. Wasting no time, Yancy gets straight to it. She informs him of that the gods are getting restless- Firrus, Alos and Kelpret in particular. As a result, their followers have been encouraged to wreak havoc all over the place. Researchers from their side have ended up dead, innocents slaughtered- all in their name. The local militia, the army of the gods has taken full on advantage of this as they’re known to burn down entire cities over one plague victims. It could be surmised that the plague, the very illness terrorizing Hylum has spread even further- creating more plague victims in the process.
Lord Phos takes great note of this, and urges her to continue. Lady Yancy  obliges with the second half. She remarks that Astrid, despite his condition last month- is slowly making an excellent recovery. She does bring up that he’s a little off, but then could be from the treatment regiments they’ve had him on for the past month. Yancy then informs her lordship about the stabilizers, the old ones have been repaired from the water damage they sustained earlier. Though, she also points out the new ones that she and Lord Phos created are ready. They agree that once Astrid recovers, he’ll have a choice between. After all that, the cautious lord insists that his associate and her puppets (the overseers) continue to monitor his dear pupil’s health. In addition to that, he also orders her to alert all active and inactive field agents- researcher or not- to be on the look out for plague victims or the army of the gods. He dismisses lady Yancy, who seems very gracious to follow up on those commands.
Marian has been stuck in the palace since last month. Turns out there’s been trouble brewing outside the palace and lots of people have been suffering as a result. She tries to glen some information by eavesdropping, only to find that her sister Catherine has been super vague on the details. She’s worried about Astrid, and wants to see him- knowing fully well he’s been taken to Mount Mire from what Beta had told her previously. Picking up on her behavior, Epsilon insists that she should just stay put.  The bodyguard argues it’s in everyone’s best interest to avoid getting involved right now. Just as they were going back to her chambers, the princess and her keeper spot two strangers chatting it up with Lady Beta. Epsilon is able to identify them as Sir Phate and Sir Olric. Those two are the heads of defense and offense respectively. Apparently, they’ll be heading out to deal with the resulting chaos that’s been going on lately. Epsilon reiterates to Marian it is best to stay out of their way and she’s not to leave.
Of course, Marian totally goes against that once she’s left alone. She manages to get together a bundle of supplies she had been stocking up on for the past month. Once she has everything sorted out properly, the adventurous maiden proceeds to sneak around to get outside. She successfully gets passed security and evades her sister- who’s arguing with her fiancee Lord Astirov. Just as she’s about to get out, Epsilon cornered her. Faced with the possibility of being punished for disobeying the ‘don’t leave the palace’ rule, Marian thinks of a clever way to get Epsilon involved. She threatens to get Astirov involved and knowing fully well how he gets with his siblings- Epsilon is at a loss. The compromise ends up being that she accompanies Marian to her secret trip up Mount Mire. They use Sir Phate and Olric’s hoards of soldiers as cover, while sneaking out and blending in. The plan is to split from the party once they hit the mountain’s path...

(I appreciate your patience, it may be a while yet; I’m not sorry for the time this took)
Nurse Crimson is snoozing at his work station, blissfully unaware of the tragic events below him. That is until the alarm goes off. He stumbles out of his chair as it blares an urgent warning. As he picks himself back up, he inquires his young master...who isn’t in his bed. Nurse Crimson does the logical thing, and freaks out because the poor lad isn’t fully recovered among other things. His worry is only heightened when he does hear Astrid chasing down Sir Olric. He’s basically helpless as magic’s being fired like a mass barrage of bullets at each other. Without further delay, the panicked overseer contacts his master Lord Phos. Phos gives him the command to initiate a lockdown of the entire facility.
Alarms ring out much like the death toll of church bells. Umbrol is attempting to escape with Olric’s deteriorating body. The prolonged exposure to his divine magic and years of trauma has finally caught up in the form of the plague. He couldn’t careless for his puppet right now, as he’s running from Astrid. He’s unwittingly accelerating his path to his ultimate demise. On the other side of this chase, Astrid’s blaming himself for triggering this whole mess. He knows he’s responsible for this and laments seeking answers. He doesn’t care anymore about those answers, as he sees his ex-brother slowly succumb to the plague. Echoing a similar sentiment of refusing to be consumed, Astrid refuses to let the disease take another if he can help it.
A vivid clash of flashing visions viciously rouses the twins from their not so peaceful slumber. There’s a lot of yelling back and forth between them as the alarms continue to screech out. Ursalis claims Olric’s going to be drop dead, whilst Karnefur believe it’s Astrid who’s going to cease. They argue a little bit before the elder twin questions the presence of these wretched alarms. Ursalis insists they go and see what’s up. They attempt to open the door, only to discover it’s been locked from the outside. Possibly as a consequence of initiating a total lockdown. Karnefur tries to keep calm before Ursalis bodyslams her way into freedom. Before Karnefur can make sure she’s ok, she barks at him to move it.
The twins are confronted by a nasty brawl between godling and god. Astrid is blasting powerful volleys as Umbrol blocks them. It escalates to a full on physical assault as one tries to dominate the other. Ursalis is utterly disgusted as the target of her previous affections has become sorely hideous. Whilst Karnefur notices Astrid’s shedding tear as he struggles against this. Biting the bullet, the young distraught man is forced to keep on fighting. Umbrol’s desire repeats over and over, refusing to be eaten- whether it’d be by Astrid or the plague. Severe distress overwhelms this sobbing lad as he’s facing a shell of someone he once knew. He never wanted any of this. He wants to make things right between him and Olric- a mad man he barely knows anymore and who’s tried to kill him. Such details seem to no longer matter when the plague’s concerned....
