RIP, CmarNYC

I’m very sad to report that Sims 3 and 4 creator CmarNYC passed away in October 2023. For 15 years, Simmers benefited from Cmar’s long-honed computing skills as she created much-loved modders’ and players’ tools, including the Sims 3 and 4 MorphMakers and Skininators, the TS4 SimRipper, the Sims 3 XCAS core mod, and many CAS sliders. She was also a contributor to S4PE, which likely was used by creators you rely on. Without Cmar’s work, the Sims franchise would have had a much less rich array of mods and custom content. She will be greatly missed.

As well as Sims, Cmar loved cats, and donations are suggested to the ASPCA, the TinyKittens Society, or an animal-related charity near you.

Another huge 'leak' for the new Lovestruck EP (I'm sure they stage these leaks since everyone involved in EA stuff has to sign a NDA. Even the gurus whine all the time that they can't reveal anything because they don't want to lose their job if they do)

Ah and the town! They said Ciudad Enamorada comes with 3 neighborhoods and 13 lots (there are also two penthouses) and I love that it's another city world 💒 probably located in South America, yay!

So I'm cautiously excited hahaha but even with all the new exciting informations I still think it's very thin for an expansion.

Я тут на скорую руку прохожу ивент в игре, чтобы обзавестись потрясающим блюдом амброзия, а еще я просто в предвкушении жду новый доп, который меня уже радует своими предметами в кас (ура, мои вампиры обзаведутся новым гардеробом).

Когда я увидела скриншот одной из мужских причесок, я почему-то понадеялась, что есть похожая и у женщин, а это бы означало, что в своем сохранении я бы сделала отсылку на Круэллу Девиль. Ну раз её нет, придется сделать мужскую версию 🤠

А так я просто в лютом восторге и от кас, и от мебели (карьера жнеца мне только не нравится - зачем?), от возможности сделать кладбище и провести самые настоящие похороны без модов и сс (да, я всё ещё из этих) 👀

Hi guys! I just wanted to make a quick note to say all my mods have survived yesterday's update.

Keto Cookbook & Cooking Scrolls

The pie menu for both cookbooks is working as usual but I will try to add the new categories and see how customisable they can be. I might need to do some small changes to the recipes for any new tags but this is not something urgent since they are working perfectly fine in their current state now. My thought process is that they might need some extra new tags to be able to be sold on the upcoming sales table with the new pack, but I will see this once the pack is released.

Functional objects

All objects work fine at first testing, so they are safe to be used.

If you notice anything weird, don't hesitate to contact me here and  I'll take a look for you. Just remember other mods can sometimes cause conflicts and weird behaviour even if they are not related to food so just make sure all your mods are up to date.

Two announcements today. I'm going to ignore the movie news because I honestly have the lowest of low expectations for it.

Project Rene scrapped? Unclear.

They've decided to restore the Sims 4 foundation, Project Olympus, to its original purpose, a multi-player MMO chat room whatever.

The excuse of "we don't want to end 10 years worth of TS4" is total BS and only wants to invoke sentimentality of players as if us older players haven't lived through 4 iterations of the game.

What they really mean is they found out how much money it will cost to run Sims 4 servers and Sims 5 servers and don't want to pay for it. Because the-totally-doesn't-need-the-internet-to-play TS4 shutting down and not giving access to players would have major backlash. Over $1000 for a game you can't play? People would be furious.

So they are sticking with the shaky foundation of TS4 as their generational game with all the horrible brokenness that console players can't get around, that modders have tried to fix, and that they themselves ignore and sweep under the rug because some people are holding onto hope they'll eventually fix it. Meanwhile, they'll distract everyone with new shiny DLCs, that will continue to have no real impact or consequences on gameplay and bring in creators to collaborate with in showmanship that they're "for the players."

TS4 will have multi-player. Big whoop. Majority of players aren't interested as they have said through countless polls and surveys.

TS4 doesn't have:

Open world

The ability to create your own world

Color wheel for all options

Cars

Robbers, real plant sims, zombies

Memories

Consequences

Astrology

Real personalities

And many other things that I don't feel like typing on a phone, but you can add yourself.

Point is, TS4's foundation is very limited. They won't be able to update the real things players want because it's just not possible with Olympus.

But hey, grim reaper expansion pack that will intrigue people for a few weeks before it releases with a ton of bugs that will continue to crumble the foundation and create more issues for the devs to slap a bandaid on.

But that's all I have to say about that.

Sims Qualities

🤗 This brings a set of supplementary traits picked as CAS preferences.

"Sims Qualities" works like the Sims 2 personality, which is split into 5 scopes: activeness, cleanliness, niceness, outgoingness, and playfulness.

You can now readily make your Sims differ in personality in addition to the CAS traits your Sims have.

Five Sections of Sims Qualities Activeness: Motivated/ Sluggish Cleanliness: Tidy/ Sloppy Niceness: Nice/ Grouchy Outgoingness: Talkative/ Withdrawn Playfulness: Jokey/ Solemn

Available for all ages; but can only be picked and changed for Child+ age in CAS

Each scope has a decent impact on all aspects: autonomy, emotions, socials, skills, needs, character values, and wants (whims).

I made the buffs maxis-match which the buffs would be less dramatic than my custom CAS traits from 100 Base-Game Traits Pack.

Base game compatible. No other requirement!

Compatible with any other mods.

Lovestruck Expansion Pack Leak!

The name of the world: Ciudad Enamorada (sounds as if it's really in Spain or Middle/South America! And: it has three neighborhoods!)

In the pic below you see the early buyer bonusses. The bed, the makeup and the cushions. A bit meh imo. And all in all it is a little thin again for an expansion pack, even so that we don't get a lot in this roadmap. Two kits and an EP for four months...
