RIP, CmarNYC

I’m very sad to report that Sims 3 and 4 creator CmarNYC passed away in October 2023. For 15 years, Simmers benefited from Cmar’s long-honed computing skills as she created much-loved modders’ and players’ tools, including the Sims 3 and 4 MorphMakers and Skininators, the TS4 SimRipper, the Sims 3 XCAS core mod, and many CAS sliders. She was also a contributor to S4PE, which likely was used by creators you rely on. Without Cmar’s work, the Sims franchise would have had a much less rich array of mods and custom content. She will be greatly missed.

As well as Sims, Cmar loved cats, and donations are suggested to the ASPCA, the TinyKittens Society, or an animal-related charity near you.

I finished checking my mods for the latest burglar patch and tagged their status on my Google spreadsheet. The good news is that all custom traits are compatible with the patch. I'll update the rest of the affected mods asap.

🆙UPDATE: Custom Traits in Club Filter V26 (Big Update)

Add-on for World Resident club requirement. This auto assigns hidden traits to tell which world a Sim is currently living in, and you can select them in the trait section of the club requirement.

Added traits & preferences of the upcoming Businesses & Hobbies pack.

Updated to include missing traits from previous packs, kits, and patches, including Life & Death, High School Years, and more.

Added my holiday tradition custom preferences and my next traits pack

I now put "Plant Sim" in the new occult section added in patch 1.113.

Adjusted wealth requirements for each club filter option.

Fixed a few llama icons for EA hidden gender & sexuality traits.

I will revisit this mod to update custom traits from other creators after fixing my other broken mods. Please tell me if any trait is missed in the filter!

Another huge 'leak' for the new Lovestruck EP (I'm sure they stage these leaks since everyone involved in EA stuff has to sign a NDA. Even the gurus whine all the time that they can't reveal anything because they don't want to lose their job if they do)

So the dating app is only for young adults and older, but the Boys wouldn't use it anyway. Let's just hope the rest is also for teenagers. The cute axolotl plushy in the background!

And we get board games! The cute new neon signs 🐣

Ah and the town! They said Ciudad Enamorada comes with 3 neighborhoods and 13 lots (there are also two penthouses) and I love that it's another city world 💒 probably located in South America, yay!

So I'm cautiously excited hahaha but even with all the new exciting informations I still think it's very thin for an expansion.

Я тут на скорую руку прохожу ивент в игре, чтобы обзавестись потрясающим блюдом амброзия, а еще я просто в предвкушении жду новый доп, который меня уже радует своими предметами в кас (ура, мои вампиры обзаведутся новым гардеробом).

Когда я увидела скриншот одной из мужских причесок, я почему-то понадеялась, что есть похожая и у женщин, а это бы означало, что в своем сохранении я бы сделала отсылку на Круэллу Девиль. Ну раз её нет, придется сделать мужскую версию 🤠

А так я просто в лютом восторге и от кас, и от мебели (карьера жнеца мне только не нравится - зачем?), от возможности сделать кладбище и провести самые настоящие похороны без модов и сс (да, я всё ещё из этих) 👀

The Sims 4 Life & Death Expansion Pack: Official Reveal Trailer

After seeing the trailer I have to say, Benjamin can't die before I have the new EP.

Two announcements today. I'm going to ignore the movie news because I honestly have the lowest of low expectations for it.

Project Rene scrapped? Unclear.

They've decided to restore the Sims 4 foundation, Project Olympus, to its original purpose, a multi-player MMO chat room whatever.

The excuse of "we don't want to end 10 years worth of TS4" is total BS and only wants to invoke sentimentality of players as if us older players haven't lived through 4 iterations of the game.

What they really mean is they found out how much money it will cost to run Sims 4 servers and Sims 5 servers and don't want to pay for it. Because the-totally-doesn't-need-the-internet-to-play TS4 shutting down and not giving access to players would have major backlash. Over $1000 for a game you can't play? People would be furious.

So they are sticking with the shaky foundation of TS4 as their generational game with all the horrible brokenness that console players can't get around, that modders have tried to fix, and that they themselves ignore and sweep under the rug because some people are holding onto hope they'll eventually fix it. Meanwhile, they'll distract everyone with new shiny DLCs, that will continue to have no real impact or consequences on gameplay and bring in creators to collaborate with in showmanship that they're "for the players."

TS4 will have multi-player. Big whoop. Majority of players aren't interested as they have said through countless polls and surveys.

TS4 doesn't have:

Open world

The ability to create your own world

Color wheel for all options

Cars

Robbers, real plant sims, zombies

Memories

Consequences

Astrology

Real personalities

And many other things that I don't feel like typing on a phone, but you can add yourself.

Point is, TS4's foundation is very limited. They won't be able to update the real things players want because it's just not possible with Olympus.

But hey, grim reaper expansion pack that will intrigue people for a few weeks before it releases with a ton of bugs that will continue to crumble the foundation and create more issues for the devs to slap a bandaid on.

But that's all I have to say about that.

University Alumni Club

⏩ Two Alumni Lot Challenges Traits with gameplay effects to generate and spawn Sims 4 University Graduates to hang out.

🧩 Requires EP08 Discover University Pack

Trait Assignment & Removal:

This mod tracks if a Sim has the degree traits and auto-assigns/ removes the correlated university graduate traits.

This mod also tracks if a Sim is currently studying in the university and auto-assigns/ removes the correlated university student traits.

Alumni Hangout Lot Challenges:

These Lot Challenges spawn alumni Sims who have the degree traits onto the Lot.

Focused/Happy/Confident moodlets for the Foxbury Institute graduates when entering the hangout Lot.

Inspired/Happy/Confident moodlets for the University of Britechester graduates when entering the hangout Lot.

Other Gameplay Effects:

Special social Interactions for both university graduates and students.

You can use this with my Custom Traits In Club Filter to set the university graduate and student traits as club requirements.

Using this mod alone, you can still hold alumni meetings by putting the Alumni Hangout Lot Traits into a Lot and spawning other university graduates.

The game will generate and spawn new Sims with the degree and graduate traits onto the Lot if there are no available Sims in the world.

Compatible with all my other mods and traits. This mod does not override any game tunings.

The sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack

OPEN YOUR DREAM BUSINESS Dream big and create a small business that will leave your Sim feeling fulfilled. Make and sell pottery or other crafts, provide a service like tattoos or classes, or come up with something unique. Use the selection tool to designate space in your home for doing what you love and making a living at it. With the new Ticket Kiosk you can run the business you want, charging customers for entry or for time spent. Run a family business and hire your Sim’s household, or meet the perfect candidate and offer them a job. Explore the possibilities with the new Small Business system.

MAKE YOUR MARK With the new Tattooing skill you can give Sims pre-made, custom, or dedication tattoos. As you level up your skill you’ll unlock more stamps and stencils, and increase the odds of excellent results. Body art is about freedom of expression and to celebrate that you can now freely create your own designs in Tattoo Paint Mode. Tattoos can even be layered. Share your custom Tattoo designs with other Simmers using the Gallery, or browse for Tattoos to use in your game.

MOLD YOUR FUTURE As you hone your Pottery skill using the Pottery Wheel, more designs – like functional tea sets, planters, incense burners, and more – will become available to you. Finish your pieces in the Pottery Kiln; there are plenty of options for glazes. At higher levels of the Pottery skill, Sims can use the Japanese art of Kintsugi to create beautiful pieces from broken ceramics.

A WORLD OF POSSIBILITY Build your future in a town steeped in history. Nordhaven is the perfect place to pursue the things you care most about, like creative and inspiring hobbies. Sims can attend Meetups to mix and mingle with those who are passionate about the same hobbies – they may even find someone to mentor them in their favorite skill. Sims can become mentors at high skill levels, or they can build their legacy by hosting Classes and Lectures. Listening to a Lecture is one of the ways a Sim may earn Mastery Perks. Hobbies are best when shared, so explore the new neighborhoods of Gammelvik and Iverstad to meet like-minded Sims!

Lovestruck Expansion Pack Leak!

The name of the world: Ciudad Enamorada (sounds as if it's really in Spain or Middle/South America! And: it has three neighborhoods!)
