if I haven't asked this already... ramble ask: Salem!
You did not! (Also I am waiting with Merida a bit till I feel like it,) but. Salem, I can do
(May have went a tad overboard.. 0 of this is canon)
Spoilers for N:E and N:E postgame(aka the Abyssals Update)
Salem! Aka Venefelis. Since uh, Venefelis is referred to as a He and Salem as a She, I'm just going with She for this whole rant^^
So. Salem. The girl in the woods.
She... Well, the time you play with her and the abyssal thing could be up to a year apart if not more in the time line (unless you did it at once like I did) , so...
First of all, she plays some Simon says with us, gives us a... I want to say Golden Nexotrap? Let me- Oh no, she gives you a Vault key. Vault key and there's Perfect berries nearby, figured.
She plays with us an easy game of Simon says, with how much it seems like Hilda's maze you truly have to wonder if it's because Hilda died around there, but when you're done, she gives you the vault key.
Now Salem... Is Venefelis, duh. But.
We know that at least with the Omnikids(thanks, Solus) they actually age, as shown my Solus in the orphanage, but so it's not far to assume similar for the Abyssals.
Salem was tasked with killing Hilda, and in return Blue(n1 protag) tied them to the woods(... Don't know why,) but you have to wonder. Surely she did it quickly, especially with Pluvian saying he practically did nothing and just waited, means they're made with adult Nexomon forms, so..
.... How old do you recon Salem to be? Not much, is the answer to whichever number comes to mind. Sure, she ages in the woods but, man, that's the WOODS. She couldn't exactly do much, other than obsess over the creator, we're returning here later
I'm noticing she never necessarily tried to push onto Solus the first time they came- Weather she just couldn't tell(which, isn't a non possibility) or because she actually wanted to do a game and then do so. Because she couldn't have known Solus didn't know they were, well, Solus.
You could argue she saw one of the revival beams and put two and two together, I suppose.
Then she tricks you with saying she's just a little kid and yada and- Well, she's not lying, to be fair here
Regardless, then she gives a speech and then she goes off, then, you kill everyone and then she has a meltdown.
.. Here's the thing, right. Kroma said that she cannot rest until she slays Eliza. That's telling me that they have that restlessness. When Pluvian did his task, he didn't have the motive to do much. When Braccus did, he found destruction amusing. When Salem did-
Well. She didn't have much to do. She was in the woods, kids came sometimes and they played, sure. But now she didn't have a "you need to do this" urge/voice in her head so. What was she supposed to do? Because she DID what she was needed to. And still nothing happened. So did all the rest of them, and nothing CHANGED.
She had all the time in the world to figure out SOME way that made sense to her in which she could get her master's attention back, because this was suffocating. Because kids came and went and then she was alone.
Nexomon are social creatures, so are humans, so it's not a stretch to say Abyssals are, too. And being all alone makes you desperate.
So when she figured out Kroma didn't do what she had to- Well that's SOMETHING. It's hundreds of years after she was trapped here, but it's something. Maybe this will work. It has to.
Then it doesn't. Then she just has a meltdown because these kids are stopping her from just getting her master's attention back because nothing else worked and-
Then she dies again. And I for one, don't love that. So! (Pulls out AUs)

I’ve been seeing debates on whether Hasbro should do a remake/continuation of G1’s cartoon. While most have said no for one reason or another, citing the poor reception to MOTU: R and the mixed reception to X-Men in particular, I’m more curious on the matter. While I agree we don’t need it, part of me really wants Hasbro to do it just to see what they’d do with it.
I’ve seen some point out there wouldn’t be toys to sell for it, but my rebuttal is that’s what Legacy/Prime Generations is for. Basically just have this hypothetical show be the WFC/PW equivalent. One MAJOR stipulation: it must be tonally in line with the original cartoon and Transformers Devastation. Make this an all ages, but especially kid friendly show. None of that nonsense PW/WFC did. In fact keep those writers away from it, bring in Simon Furman, Flint Dille & Bob Budiansky to throw in some sexy adjectives and be script supervisors/editors to the new staff.
As for the plot, it depends on what they’d do: full remake-AU or continuation. The later would be simpler I think, just following up on what Galvatron and Zarak have been up to and the Autobots’/humanity’s reaction to it.
No matter what they’d do I feel like Hasbro would insist on lite retcons that include the 13 Primes and their Relics, which in turn fuel Galvatron and Zarak’s ambitions, while Optimus and Hot Rod have shared premonitions about the history of the Prime lineage, revealing in the cartoon universe, the thirteen primes were the prototypes the Quintessons developed after the Trans-Organics, with the Prime relics being Quintesson tools the Primes inherited after the Quints were driven off Cybertron. The Quints aren’t particularly happy their own tools are being uncovered, let alone seeing Galvatron using the Forge to upgrade his troops into Micromasters, Action Masters, & Pretenders. It becomes a race to see who collects the relics, with the Autobots determined to stop the Quintessons and Decepticons from abusing this ancient power. All the while, Solus Prime, Alchemist Prime and Quintus Prime are watching from the sidelines, the last survivors of the ancient Primes. And because Furman, there’d be a bit in here about Grimlock being a vessel for Onyx Prime temporarily, lol.
A clean slate AU could be done any number of ways, though my stipulation would absolutely no Allspark plot, but instead maybe combine elements of Dark of the Moon and Devastation where the factions are looking for the Ferotaxxis, which possess the data necessary to restore Cybertron by producing Synthetic Energon to whoever finds it first. The Ferotaxxis is unearthed by humans meanwhile, who study it and the unearthed Nova Prime, seeing a technological boom as far as the 80’s/90’s are concerned (similar to the Bay films and Sumac Systems in Animated). Nova isn’t particularly pleased at being poked and prodded by what he deems a lazy inferior species, and like Bay Sentinel concocts a scheme to screw over humanity, Optimus’ Autobots and secure the Ferotaxxis to gift Cybertron Earth’s energy. Because Cybertron is all that matters, the devil with anything that gets in the way of it.
The Autobots human friends would be Spike, Carly and Chip, the children of scientists and engineers working on Project O-Part; the O-Part, the Ferotaxxis, reacting to the Autobots and Decepticons presence on Earth.
The plot would then extend to the lineage of the 13 Primes and their relics, as they were things Nova and the Ferotaxxis were privy to, leading to the Autobots and the kids from stopping the Decepticons from getting their hands on the relics, with another wrinkle being added that some countries already found some like Carbomya, and won’t surrender them easily…
Like I said this concept can go any direction, but for a pivoted AU, this is just how I’d do it, going by what I assume Hasbro would still want with the 13 Primes being a component. Elements of Skybound would probably be here too, like Spike and Carly being those designs in particular.
But I think continuing where The Rebirth left off would be the better option, being the easiest to work with and with the already admittedly shoddy continuity of the G1 cartoon, you could pretty effortlessly add aspects of Skybound, IDW (and by that I mean characters like Nova, Rung, Rubble, Termagax, Three Fold Spark, etc) and the modern 13 lore.
Will do they do it? If they’re desperate enough, absolutely, but I don’t know if we’re entirely there yet. It’s getting closer and closer though.

💘 heart with arrow and Matty for the ask meme!
(oc ask meme :D )
💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them? - for Matthias Shepard
Tumblr media
Hmm. Bit of a tough question cos Matty feels very Responsible for a lot of different people over the course of his life. The most obvious answers are:
His family - his parents, Eric and Hannah, and brother Simon. Unlike Philip (and I think unlike many Spacer Sheps), Matty was really close to his family growing up and stayed in close touch with them throughout the war, and they instilled a really strong sense of duty in him from a very young age. So even after he has become a hero in the eyes of the galaxy, their opinion of him is still really of very strong importance.
Ashley - Because love interest, obviously, but also because she is a real stabilizing influence for him in the late war. She's a badass soldier with the same Alliance background as him, but she can also match him intellectually with her love for poetry and literature, and it makes him feel like he can turn off being the commander sometimes and just be Matty, which becomes really important by the end of ME3.
I'll also go ahead and add a third item:
Mordin Solus - Matty's best friend, another person who lets him exercise the nerdy brain side of his personality and doesn't expect him to be "on" as the commander at all times. Mordin is also, I think, one of the first people who opens Matty's thought process up to the more nuanced nature of what "doing the right thing" can entail, which is an important growth step for him in ME2 given the transition from pure Alliance man to Cerberus recruit. (And, ultimately, the fact that Mordin survives Tuchanka is probably significant in terms of Matty's mental health in the late game; had things been different in terms of Eve/Wrex being alive, Matty wouldn't have stood in his way, but I think Mordin dying would have made Matty a lot less stable in the latter half of ME3 than he ended up being.)

Now for the grand reveal!
The lie is...
Smokescreen and Bluestreak are split-spark brothers!
Answers 2, 7, and 8 are talked about here.
At OTFCC 2004 a woman named Michelle Carolus voiced a female version of Optimus Prime in a live scrip reading drama that was a crossover of G1, BW, and RID01 written by Simon Furman.
Tumblr media
That version of Optimus Prime was likely the inspiration to make a full fledge Prime known as Splendid Yellow Convoy for the Precursor World continuity. Splendid Yellow Convoy is the leader of the Yellow Order, made up of female transformers. She shows up in the Generations Selects Special comics. Here is the link the scrip drama on YouTube!
Tumblr media
Lord Imperious Delirious first appearance was in 1998 in The Transformers in 3-D and would later reappear in Beast Wars: Uprising. He was originally created to be a living time capsule memory bank for an entire species, but all of the collective thoughts and knowledge gave him a life and will of his own. He is now the leader of a group called The Destructons, whose main goal is to... well, destroy! If you'd like to read his comics almost all Transformers comics can be found on readcomiconline!
In the Japanese comic strips in the Legends Universe, Starscream from Beast Wars II is the owner of a "little brother cafe"- a play on "little sister cafe"- a type of maid cafe where the staff refers to patrons as big brother/big sister.
Tumblr media
Despite being an all male cafe, BWII Starscream hired an amnesiac Windblade from a different universe because he felt bad for her, something Armada Starscream found out when he offered to work in her place after she fell ill. The workers are also referred to with Japanese slang term for gay men. The workers included Archadis, Gas Skunk, Nightscream, and Airazor (who was changed to be male in Japan), who were all gay coded in their shows in Japan. I haven't been able to find the translations of the comics yet but there are full synopsis on the wiki here!
Meet Artemis and Moon! Robots designed by Gaia's inhabitants to keep the planet safe long after they're gone!
Tumblr media
Gaia, throughout the show, is heavily implied to be Earth, so humans were the ones to originally build Artemis (the girl) and Moon (the rabbit) and stick them in the moon (the moon) as a failsafe to ensure that the planet would be protected even after humans were no longer on it. It's unclear if the humans in Beast Wars II went extinct or if they simply found other planets to inhabit after the climate became too dangerous for human life on Earth, but we do see remnants of cities from time to time in the show. Artemis and Moon care deeply for planet Gaia and it's creatures and do whatever they can to protect it, even if it means putting their own lives at risk. Artemis is also shown to care for beings that do not originate from Gaia, developing a crush on both Starscream and Scuba, and stating that she cares for both Galvatron and Lio Convoy and doesn't want to see either get killed. Moon is shown to care about the maximals but hesitates to care for the destrons, as he knows they're a threat to Gaia. If you'd like to watch Beast Wars II, here is the entire playlist on YouTube!
According to Vector Prime, The 13 visited Earth a long time ago and ended up in ancient Greece. To better blend in with their surroundings, they took on holoforms to interact with humans as they sat atop a mountain as not to frighten them. The humans still mistook them as Gods, probably because Liege Maximo, the drama queen he is, couldn't resist taking the form of a beautiful woman that emerging from the sea on a giant shell, causing the legend of Aphrodite to be born.
Megatronus, being so full of anger, birthed the legend of Ares, the God of War.
Solus Prime was known as Hephaestus, for all her hard work.
Alpha Trion with his infinite wisdom became Athena.
Prima became Zeus (and as a Greek mythology nerd I have to question what the absolute fuck he got up to) and Nexus Maximus was Hera.
Onyx took form to hunt and was known as Artemis and Autonomous became Apollo.
Alchemist Prime became Dionysus for his delightful concoctions.
Adaptus became known as Poseidon after his lure to Earth's chaotic sea and Mortilus became Hades for his mystery and solitude.
Epistemus became known as Demeter after helping humanity with agriculture.
And Vector himself was Hermes!
Persephone is mentioned too, but she was not one of the Primes, and I'm pretty sure she wasn't even Cybertronian! Apparently, she was the cause of a few arguments between Epistemus and Mortilus.
Here are two links to the Ask Vector Prime archives!
@presidentstarscream @love-the-leaf-shield (I saw you two mentioned wanting to be tagged in the final!)
Ok ok here's another

wip wednesday (this bit kinda has my name in it edition)
Here’s a bit from earlier in Anne’s coronation sequence. Anne was crowned in Westminster Abbey two days after her wedding to Richard, which is why Richard’s POV here is so intensely starry-eyed (and horny). It’s all still really new to them.
It was standard practice in the Middle Ages for kings not to attend their wives’ coronations unless the two of them were being crowned together, although the Liber Regalis does contain instructions for what to do if he does want to attend. The idea, though, is that having him there would pull the focus (I have Sir Simon Burley explain this in an earlier sequence). Henry VII and Margaret Beaufort attended Elizabeth of York’s coronation in a sort of officially-unofficial way behind a curtain (I learned this from @feuillesmortes) but since nobody wrote any detailed accounts of Anne of Bohemia’s coronation, preferring to grumble about her appearance, stature, and lack of dowry, I just stuck Richard in the galleries instead.
--
The galleries in Westminster Abbey are very high up, enough that it makes Richard a little dizzy. He can see right down into the shrine of Edward the Confessor, although he tries not to look directly down, as it makes his head spin when he tries it, and the monk that Abbot Litlyngton has sent to accompany him (and probably to keep him from doing or saying anything too conspicuous, or embarrassing) puts a nervous hand on his shoulder to steady him.
“I’d stand back a little, if I were you, your Highness,” the monk says, and Richard nods a little unsteadily. It’s good advice, after all. Below, the Abbey glitters in the candlelight; Richard wonders if all the candles have made it any warmer. Upstairs, it is cold enough that Richard can see his breath.
But then the great west gates open and the procession is approaching and Richard forgets to be cold. First comes Edmund Langley, bearing the scepter, and John of Gaunt, bearing the crown, and then Anne comes into the church, escorted by Archbishop Courtenay and Bishop Braybrooke, as the barons of the Cinque Ports carefully withdraw the golden canopy they have borne over her head between the palace and the Abbey. She looks tiny, from so far away, in her purple robes with her hair falling down her back in golden-brown waves held in place by a jeweled circlet, but her very presence fills the whole nave with light and warmth.
The procession stops at the entrance to the church, and Archbishop Courtenay holds up his hands to pray over Anne.
“Omnipotens sempiterne Deus, fons et origo totius bonitatis...”
He prays that God will bless and protect Anne, and that, like the holy women Sarah and Leah and Rachel and Rebecca, she will rejoice in the fruit of her womb. Even from this height, and this distance, Richard can sense that Anne is blushing now. His own face is blazing—he remembers what Anne had said, yesterday morning. We are blessed, she had said, and he had been amazed. I think God must have meant me for you, she had also said, and Richard has no doubt that she is right. When they come together tonight to celebrate Anne’s coronation, it will also be blessed.
He probably shouldn’t think too much about it right now, though.
Below him, the two bishops are leading Anne down the long nave through the choir to the altar, which has been prepared with a pile of carpets and cushions. Anne kneels down upon these, very carefully, her hair and her purple robes flowing around her. She smooths her skirts carefully over her thighs and then raises her eyes—when her gaze falls upon Richard, beaming down on her from the galleries, she rewards him with a smile that is so radiant Richard feels he might weep. He presses his fingers to his lips and risks holding them out over the railing towards her, just for a moment, as she smiles up at him, and then she lies prostrate on the cushions and Archbishop Courtenay stands over her and blocks his view.
“Deus qui solus habes immortalitatem…” the archbishop intones. Richard is startled into unchurchly amusement when Archbishop Courtenay reaches the words proximam virginitati palmam continere queat—that she may hold the palm next to that of virginity, the heavenly reward of the faithful wife—and while Richard cannot see Anne’s face, he is certain her eyes are full of mirth. He can see her rosy-cheeked smile in his mind’s eye. Now I want to do this every night for the rest of my life, she had told him yesterday. They have just prayed for her fertility, after all. Richard smiles to himself—they have both been doing their part, and they have every intention of doing their part some more tonight, if Anne isn’t too tired after the banquet. Richard’s face is now very warm even in the cold church, and he is uncomfortably aware that if he keeps thinking along these lines he is going to embarrass himself quite severely, and in the church too. He shifts his weight uncomfortably from one foot to the other and bites his lip.
When Archbishop Courtenay has finished praying, Anne, with the support of two of the bishops, raises herself to her knees, and four noblewomen come to the altar bearing a golden canopy. Richard feels a sudden shiver, remembering his own anointing, years ago, how the air seemed to shimmer in the summer heat and the scent of the holy oil and chrism overwhelmed him. From here, he can barely smell it.
If Richard can trust his memory of time—and he’s not certain he can—it takes much less time for Anne to be anointed. He vaguely recalls that queens are not anointed in as many places as kings are. Anne is also not called upon to divest herself of her robes, which, given where Richard’s mind has persisted in going, is probably for the best. Then, almost before he knows it, the canopy is being moved away and Anne is visible again. Richard remembers wondering if he seemed different, when they took the canopy away. He had felt different. He wonders if Anne feels different. When Archbishop Courtenay has finished saying a short prayer over her, he steps aside to signal for the regalia. Anne looks up toward the galleries again, her face flushed and her eyes shining. Richard has to admit that she doesn’t look different, but he wouldn’t want her to look any different. She is perfect the way she is.

Also for bonus points of "no Simon Furman your lore makes no sense," the cover in question illustrates members of the Circle of Light and those taught by them. The Circle of Light are disciples of the Knights of Cybertron, which means that the organization is AT LEAST 6 million years old if not several millions of years older. "Female Cybertronians went extinct" my ass they were literally always there from Solus Prime (one of the Thirteen Primes) to these random unnamed women in the Circle of Light.
Simon Furman: "Sorry women in Transformers can't exist uwu"

the corporate faces of the fears
The Vast (through the Fairchilds)
Open Skydiving - UK-based skydiving school/specialists operating in the 2000s, workplace of Harriet Fairchild and Robert Kelly.
There were one or two news articles from late 2000 that reference events by Open Skydiving, or sometimes the Open Skydiving School, but whatever they were, they were not an officially licensed business (MAG021)
Pinnacle Aerospace - member of the Stratosphere Group that launched the space station Daedalus in 2007.
Pinnacle Aerospace, majority owned by the Fairchild family (MAG057)
Variety of unspecified businesses and investments
While I was never able to discover the original name of the con artist, one of his many, many aliases was Simon Fairchild, and it appeared on several business listings around the time [2012]. (MAG051)
A cursory bit of research reveals the Fairchilds in question to be an exceptionally wealthy family based down in Cornwall. No real business to speak of, but it appears they’ve invested very wisely in aerospace technology, shipping logistics, and underwater drilling and construction. (MAG051)
The Lonely (through the Lukas family)
Solus Shipping PLC
There’s also the fact that even a casual search of port authority records shows the Tundra is a currently-active cargo ship operating for Solus Shipping PLC, a company founded and majority-owned by Nathaniel Lukas. (MAG033)
Variety of investments and patronages - including into, among others, the Magnus Institute and Daedalus space station
The Lukas family also provides funding to several academic and research organisations - including the Magnus Institute. (MAG057)
[Prominent names from among the Stratosphere group that launched the Daedalus space station included] a large private investment by Nathaniel Lukas (MAG057)
Property ownership - housing block in central London, built sometime between 1970 and 2015.
I had commissioned the services of architects, designers, and sociologists, all under a variety of pretenses, and had secured a plot of land near Aldgate East. I was going to build a tower block of my very own. (MAG159)
Property ownership - Moorland House with estate (including extensive grounds, forests, and possibly a graveyard and chapel) in Kent
The house was very large, and very old. It had a high gate separating it from the main road, which has the name “Moorland House” carved into the stone of the gatepost...  I kept moving until I reached the centre of what I can only assume was a small cemetery, and there I found a chapel... She had apparently run out into the road in front of Mr. Getty’s car near Wormshill in the Kent Downs. (MAG013)
The house was sprawling. Our bedrooms were kept as far apart as possible and changed often, as we were cared for by a rotating cast of nannies and tutors... I would spend my days exploring the wide grounds and forests of our estate (MAG159)
The Eye (through Jonah Magnus)
Magnus Institute - London-based organisation dedicated to academic research into the esoteric and the paranormal, established by Jonah Magnus in 1818.
Usher Foundation - America-based sister institution to the Magnus Institute, located in Washington, DC and founded post-1952. (S3 Q+A)
Pu Songling Research Centre - China-based sister institution to the Magnus Institute, located in Beijing. (MAG105)
The Dark (through Maxwell Rayner and the People’s Church of the Divine Host)
Optic Solutions Ltd - involved in the launching of the Daedalus space station in 2007.
A relatively benign-seeming company manufacturing specialist cameras for research and industrial application, who are nonetheless notable for having their business address listed as being in Ny Alesund in Norway. (MAG057)
DKN Systems - Manchester-based company, workplace of Vardhan Darvish and three other cultists until their deaths in July 2010.
All except DKN Systems. I never really figured out what it was they were meant to be doing. Something full of meaningless buzzwords, like “business networks” or “media solutions.” Thinking about it, it might actually have been “business media network solutions.” (MAG109)
Outer Bay Shipping - shell corporation with links to a range of People’s Church-affiliated companies and activities, and which operated the Norwegian town Ny-Alesund until the final death of Maxwell Rayner in February 2017.
Tim pointed out that Ny-Ålesund is actually a small town in Norway. In fact, except for research installations, it is the most northerly human settlement on Earth, located at a latitude of North 78°55′30″. It is a company town, owned and operated by Outer Bay (MAG025)
It were a big truck [making deliveries to DKN Systems] for some company called “Outer Bay”. I tried to follow them up since, but didn’t find much. (MAG109)
The building was in an industrial complex up in Harringay. It was a two-storey brick building with a weathered sign claiming it belonged to Outer Bay Shipping. (MAG073)
I still can’t find much about the company Outer Bay Shipping. Looks like a shell corporation, but tracking corporate ownership is not something I’m skilled at. (MAG073)
The Stranger
Breekon and Hope Deliveries - delivery company with depots in Nottingham and Newcastle, commandeered by agents of the Stranger in 1993 until their deaths in 2018 - long past when the company legally closed.
The other useful thing I found here was one of the old log books. It lists deliveries quite a ways past the point where the company technically ceased to exist, right up to 2013. (MAG096)
The Trophy Room - taxidermy shop near Woodside Park in Barnet, London. It was owned by an agent of the Stranger wearing the skin of Daniel Rawlings and remained in business until March 2018. (MAG054 and MAG096)

All Scops owls are under the genus Otus and Otus’s dad is named Scops
Aegolius comes from an Ancient Greek word meaning “a bird of ill omens”

Solus is similar sounding to the word solace and the Latin word solus
A dirk is a type of blade found in the Scottish highlands
Molstrom sounds like maelstrom, which could be either a powerful whirlpool in a river or sea or a situation or state of confused movement or violent turmoil.
