I'm just. Randomly thinking about SSO and publishing again
Because they have so much stuff they COULD have published they just... haven't? Didn't?
And now they've teamed up with yet another licensing/publishing company there is the vaguest glimmer of hope things will be properly available in more languages.
But we've got:
All the original Starshine Legacy and Star Academy Comics (okay probably not, those ips are probably technically owned by someone else)
Clouds Over Silverglade. It exists in English. We KNOW it exists in English, they gave out copies at conventions in the USA. They could be selling the pdfs or physical copies as a "vintage" comic or something.
Those magazine comics??? Remember that one with Pix the Pandorian that little pink cloud thing and it's all about Ydris' circus and Pandorian masks and stuff??? Those could be sold as pdf collections or physical copies.
remember Elli did a comic called Dark Song? You know that exists in English somewhere and just. Never got published or made available for whatever reason.
Also all the comics Elli did for SSO's instagram. Compile those and sell them in pdfs and physical copies. Be easier than scrolling through instagram. Like sure they're available for free but people want merch! and also to not need the internet to read something (or if they lose the link and can't find them again)
not to mention Helena's books that haven't been translated into other languages yet. Or that have been translated but aren't available for sale
I'm probably forgetting some. But point is they just. Have a lot of things that aren't available for sale even though they exist and are literally ready for sale, some were even printed?? Or make it pdfs for sale, then there is no printing and shipping costs!
I'm having a lot of feelings and energy about this right now and I'm not sure why! Probably because SSE could have SOME sort of merch and they just! don't!

i've been trying so hard to be a good boy and not give into the negativity of the updated sso look, graphics and horses and characters and ui included, but i can't do it anymore. my tiktok bombarding me with pre-2017 sso videos and i'm not strong enough. the game used to feel so mysterious and just riding around in the middle of nowhere trying to explore every corner of the map could keep a strapping young lad (me) entertained for hours. now it's all just. it's plastic. sure it's smoother and nicer and 'better' but it's not like it used to be and i don't even have an issue with that as such, it's just that it's SO different it couldn't be any more different. and then they take away our beautiful silverglade village walls and the classic steve's farm and fort pinta just isn't what it used to be and the harvest counties don't make me feel the way they used to make me feel so what's the point. i'm this close to caving and giving myself a computer virus with bsso. playing the starshine legacy games makes me cry

Here are some answered questions that I found interesting:
Would you ever revisit and revamp Starshine Legacy? For our tenth anniversary we did a remaster of the Starshine Legacy games and made them available to play directly on our website (you can find them here https://www.starstable.com/se/starshine-legacy ). There are still many locations that I love in these games that haven’t made it into SSO and that I would love to see there when the time is right!
Any hints for the future? We have many plans for the future that I would like to tell you about, but I will hold back on that so that we can share what is coming when the time is right and we know that we can deliver! But I can tell one thing! We are continuing to deliver lots of improvements to our core technology, the engine which the game runs on. This is something that will become apparent to you in the shape of performance improvements, better game stability, and new features! It will also allow us to keep delivering a great experience to you for many, many, many, many years to come!
When are we getting more story quests? Last year we ran into some unexpected challenges when the story quest we were working on didn’t turn out the way we wanted. So we took a break, focused on delivering the Winter Festival and the amazing content that you’ll get to see in February that continues to build on something we released last year. Now we have gone back and are working on what should come next in the story quests - they mean a lot to us and we know that they mean a lot to you! We promise to keep you updated!
When are you expanding the map? Funny that you should ask this … During the last few years we have focused on populating the parts of the map that you already have access to. In 2023 we gave you Hollow Woods and last year we shipped Silverglade Equestrian Centre. While we will continue to improve the experiences across the currently accessible parts of Jorvik, we have also started to investigate if it is indeed time to expand the map. If everything goes as planned you might get to hear more about this later in the year!

🔮 ⤷ UFO Crash Site
Today I had the pleasure of visiting the UFO Crash Site, an interesting hidden location in-game. With so little information surrounding it and its purpose, it has got me thinking about the origins of this UFO and it's meaning to the overall Jorvigian lore and storyline.
Location:
The UFO Crash Site is a named location that is located at the coordinates X:137, Y:119 in Northlink, just behind the Baroness' Racetrack and Silverglade Manor.
Its interesting placement is in the currently greyed-out area of the Northern Mountain Range, and as far as I'm aware, the only accessible area in this region that is allowed.
Following a dirt track behind the Championship at the Racetrack, the UFO Crash Site can be accessed through a secret pathway hidden behind dense foliage further up the track.
'They Come In Peace':
'They Come In Peace' is an achievement that can be unlocked by dismounting in-front of the UFO and typing '/gestures' in-chat (a hidden player action that cannot be accessed through the emote menu!).
On a side note, I did try completing this achievement, but for some reason have not been given it. Whether that's a bug or that gaining the achievement has now been removed from the game entirely I'm not too sure.
Theories:
But do they really come in peace? Several ideas floating around about the history of this UFO suggest otherwise.
The most common theory about this UFO suggests that this was the ship that contained Garnok when he arrived in Jorvik.
Little is known about the details of Garnok's arrival, but it is said that he crash-landed somewhere off of the coast of the island in a starship (an idea first introduced in Starshine Legacy: Episode Three), which would also explain why there have been some appearances of him off of the coast during both the trail-ride in the Halloween event, and in Starshine Legacy: Episode Four.
This does question the validity of this theory, as the UFO Crash Site is not only miles away from any coast-line, but is also in the middle of a mountain range.
Other theories suggest that since we now understand that Fripp also does not come from Pandoria, but similarly also from somewhere unknown, this could be the ship that transported him here instead. In my personal opinion, I think that this could make a lot more sense theoretically, but given, again, the lack of canon information surrounding Fripp's origins, it is all very up in the air.
However, we can explore the reasons supporting why Fripp may have a connection to this mysterious ship. Location-wise, the UFO is located in the Northern Mountain Range, and therefore very close to where Valedale, the entrance to the Secret Stone Circle, and the majority of the known Druids live. Also, as simple as it sounds, I think that the blue glowing symbols all over the ship itself seem to correlate more with Fripp and his appearance than with what we know of Garnok.
