I realized that I made fanart of all my favorite Sonic characters, and that my art style has changed a lot over time.

my take on the differences between Sonic, Shadow and Silver is that they’re just like the main devil hunters from Devil May Cry

i’ll try to make this self-explanatory for anyone that doesn’t know DMC or Sonic

Sonic is like Dante. the main guy, carefree, fun and jokey. they take things easy, have a cocky attitude, run off all the time, insult and nickname their enemies while fighting them and don’t take most things seriously but become the scariest of them all when they do lock-in

Shadow is like Vergil. they’re cold, distant and formal. their lives are defined by loss and their mission that came from it. they’re obsessed with their own power and are the most serious of their trio. they are the polar opposite of the main guy

and they both shoot stabby things at people, pew pew

and Silver is like Nero, brash and emotional

they have a cocky attitude like the main guy and take things seriously like the 2nd guy but unlike either of those guys that are calm and cool Silver and Nero have no chill, negative chill even, they’re super emotional, younger and more aggro than their predecessors. they’re angry, reckless, scream and punch things and are full of frustration from the situations they grew up with. (Silver has a bio that says he deals with things too head on because of the strength of his feelings) they’re also both Italian and live in their world’s version of the vatican city and they’re both related to the 2nd guys

and they both grab/hold/throw things with their special blue hand powers, pew pew
