Sill's Drive-In, Las Vegas, c. 1952

The first 24-hour drive-in restaurant in Las Vegas, located at 1100 South 5th St (Las Vegas Blvd) and Charleston Blvd, was opened by Mr. & Mrs. James M. Sill and Thelma Louise Sill, and Orpha Sill Miller in Jan. ‘42. The Coca-Cola neon sign was replaced by the neon waitress sign in the 50s.

Sill’s was the scene where Rev. T. Malcolm Jones of Christ Church Episcopal was shot and killed by parishioner Ray Smith 1/19/55.

The drive-in became Tip Top in ‘59, demolished in '65.
