Sicara is flattered that both Xorax and Zola have crushes on her, but she really wishes they'd give up on that whole "bloody vengeance at all costs" thing.
Vendettas are antithetical to the goddess Sicara has devoted her life to, Irokori, who's all about letting go of the burdens of the past and making a fresh start. (Well, that and volcanoes. Vincaran deities multi-task.)

Ch.8 - El Sin Nombre - Part 2
Previous Chapter - Masterlist - Next Chapter
Soap is interrogated by Valeria for intel; Alejandro and his team raid the home in search of El Sin Nombre; Alejandro is face-to-face with an old friend.
Soap was startled when the brief moment of silence was interrupted by the burlap sack being ripped from his head. Looking ahead, he saw two of the guards that brought him in staring at him with intimidating eyes. "Hermano..." Alejandro said in a low voice, putting his hand on Soap's shoulder.
"Alejandro?" Soap asked, puzzled, before looking to his left to recognize the second pair of eyes to be Kiera. "Kiera? How did you--"
"No time. Listen, give them good intel in there. Don't lie. Tell them everything they want to know or you'll die here."
"Tell them everything?"
"Everything. Mexican Special Forces, American PMCs, Shadow Company. Phillip Graves. All truth."
"Even your name?"
No reply.
The door to the elevators opened, Kiera having to stop herself from laughing at the man who appeared before him to have a very feminist stance to be a cartel member. He had a smug grin on his face as his hip was parked out and his chest was puffed out. "This him?" The man snickered.
"Si, senor." Alejandro replied.
"You got a name, hawk?" He questioned, poking at his preferred hairstyle.
"They call me Soap."
Diego scoffed, "What kind of a name is that? Let's go."
"I want to see El Sin Nombre." Soap stated.
"He wants to see the boss..." He sighed, momentarily taking a step back before grasping the collar of Soap's shirt. "You're only alive because you may have some information. And it better be good, guero, or I'm going to scalp that hawk right off your fucking head. Get the fuck out of my elevator."
"GeT tHe FuCk oUt Of mY ElEvaTor." Soap heard Kiera mock as Diego walked away, Alejandro nudging her shoulder as she was in one of her silly moods. Soap couldn't help but crack a smile too as he was thankful there was some ounce of comedic relief in the situation. He just hoped she wasn't going to be around when he was interrogated because of her mood.
And when she was in a goofy mood, she couldn't be looked at in a serious outcome due to a major laughing fit.
"This is my house. Which means you don't meet the boss until I say so. You don't speak unless spoken to. And mass importante - tell the fucking truth. 'Cause if you lie, I'll feed you to my dogs."
Soap gulped as he watched Diego beat one of his workers for snorting cocaine on the job, telling him that "the pain will keep you sharp".
"Las Almas is at war. You want to win? Don't disobey," Diego explained, rubbing his sore knuckles. "That is how the organization survives, and that is why the boss is here tonight."
"0-7, confirmed on Sin Nombre." Kiera whispered into her comm to Ghost once she and Alejandro split up.
"Copy that," Ghost replied back. "What's your 20?"
"Honestly, I have no idea. This is a big house."
"Well, that's comforting."
"I'll be making my way upstairs to see if I can find anything."
"Stay sharp." Ghost advised.
"I might."
You fucking better, Ghost rasped to himself, scanning the balconies of the mansion for any movement.
"El Sin Nombre is down here?" Soap asked Diego once coming to the end of a corridor.
"Heh, no, but Sin Nombre's personal sicara is," He said before opening the door. Oh, fuck, Soap thought at the sight before him. Two men, bound to a chair with a woman of power pacing back and forth between them with a gun in her hand. She was tattooed and thirsty for dominance - a demon drink if he had to say so. If Soap didn't know any better, he would've thought the sight before him was insanely attractive, but now that he was on an enemy's turf, he pushed that thought aside. "Valeria, there's one more. A gringo."
"Sit down." She demanded to him, nodding towards one of her guards to remove a deceased victim out from the chair before forcing Soap to sit in his place. Splatters of blood decorated the floor and a small crowd of cartel members gathered around Valeria. His eyes scanned the many exposed ones of the guards, stopping when he found the soft feminine eyes of Kiera. She nodded at him briefly, ready to cause a scene if she needed to. "Who's this?" She said to Diego in Spanish, expecting Soap to not understand.
"His name is Soap. He came to us."
Valeria chuckled, "Soap? And you let him in?"
"He says he has information."
Valeria kicked behind Diego's knees, grabbing his neck from behind as she pressed the tip of her knife into Diego's temple, threatening to penetrate the blade into his flesh. Badass bitch.
"We don't know him and he's seen our faces!"
"Valeria, we need intel - he could help us."
"He better. Or after I kill him, you'll be in that chair." She snarled before pushing him from her grasp. Fucking scared street dog, she thought after looking at Diego. Tucking your tail between your legs.
"Children!" She said, removing her semi-automatic pistol from her holster. "This is simple: I ask questions, you answer truthfully. Do not lie to me. Recently, we were protecting a friend in the mountains. Someone attacked us there. Who?" She said to Nunez, a Corporal who was assigned to protect the cartel when they called for reinforcements when Alejandro and his team breached their containment.
Nunez shrugged, "It... It was chaos. I didn't see--"
"In English for the white boy!" Valeria shouted.
"I-I think it was the Rivals Cartel."
Valeria then turned towards Soap, "Your turn, blanquito. Who attacked us?"
"It wasn't cartel. It was Mexican Special Forces."
"We found the bodies. Fuerzas Especiales," Valeria cocked her brow. "Now, how would an outsider know they were Mexican Special Forces and not you?" She asked Nunez.
"Maybe he was there!"
"You were there, asshole," Diego snarled at Nunez before pointing to Soap. "Maybe he was there, too."
"There were outsiders who were helping the Mexican Special Forces. Who were they?"
Don't say Kiera's name, Soap reminded himself as he wanted to protect her, recalling how she felt about Graves and what he was up to. Graves has an army, she doesn't...
"We-We heard them yelling in English... They were with the gringos, like him!" Nunez said.
"American PMCs. A group called Shadow Company." Soap answered, watching Valeria walk over to Diego.
"Los Vaqueros is working with Mercenaries." Valeria whispered.
"Those fucking snakes."
"You see?! I was right! It was the gringos!" Nunez bargained.
Valeria then pointed her gun at Nunez, "Can you even prove that "Shadow Company" even exists?"
"H-How can I prove this?"
Valeria scoffed at him before turning to Soap, "What about you? What proof to you have?"
"Check my pocket." Soap said in clear Spanish, shocking both Valeria and Diego as they assumed he had no idea what gringo even meant.
Valeria paused before putting her hand into the front pocket of Soap's jeans, pulling out the insignia patch Graves had given him.
"W-What is that?" Nunez asked nervously.
"Shadow Company's insignia... Proof." Soap answered, watching Valeria lean towards him, her face inches from his. She had an abrupt and intimidating gaze.
"Who leads Shadow Company? Give me a name."
"Phillip Graves."
Diego chuckled, "Fill graves. Fill graves, I like that."
"This man, Graves, what does he want?"
"The Iranian. He wants Hassan."
"How does he know that?" Diego asked Valeria.
"You can't trust him. You can't! I'm telling you!" Nunez pleaded.
"You've told us nothing!" Valeria shouted.
"No, no, no! Don't do that! Please, I don't want to die!"
"We pay you well, and this outsider knows more than you." Diego scoffed.
"Time to kill this useless motherfucker." Valeria said to Diego, smirking at Nunez before Diego pulled the trigger. Nunez's brain matter and blood managed to spew onto Soap's clothing, causing him to swallow hard within his throat, knowing he was going to be next.
Valeria pulled out her knife, approaching Soap, "How nice, did good here. Well done." She whispered to him, cutting his wrists free of the zip ties.
"We're going upstairs, gringo," Diego said to him, motioning for him to follow. "To be fucking clear, we're not done with you. Sin Nombre will decide your future." How comforting, Soap thought as he entered the same elevator that brought him down in the first place, Kiera being the only guard that was with Diego and Valeria. Where's Alejandro?
"Penthouse, 1-1." Kiera said to Alejandro in Spanish, desperately trying to make her voice sound deeper.
"Los Vaqueros is moving fast."
"I'll be in the penthouse with Sin Nombre." Valeria replied.
"When do I see El Sin Nombre?"
"Valeria is going to speak to the boss now. You will wait with the others."
"I have a feeling El Sin Nombre will be... very interested in talking to you."
The elevator opened, Alejandro's masked figure waiting for them. "I'll be in the ofrenda. No interruptions." He said to one of the other guards.
"Si, senor."
"I got him, man. They need you outside." Alejandro spoke to him.
"Hermano, you're alive."
"Aye, you too, mate."
"El Sin Nombre is in the penthouse - third floor." Kiera spoke to him.
"We'll need a keycard."
"I got you." She said, removing the knife from the sheath around the jeans she wore under the suit and handing it to Soap.
"Sweet." He said.
"Here, take this." Alejandro said, handing him a white balaclava.
"Why a mask?"
"Some can't be seen with the cartel. Let's move."
"Ghost, we're in." Soap said to his comrade.
"What've you got?"
"El Sin Nombre's in the penthouse. Third floor."
"Elevator is a straight shot. We just need Diego's keycard."
"Where's Diego?"
"The ofrenda. Second floor."
"You seein' anything, L.t?"
"If you can scout a way to the roof, there's access to the penthouse."
"I'm heading upstairs either way."
"Sergeant, I'm heading towards the second floor now." Kiera told Soap.
"Be careful, senora. If guards see you going towards the penthouse or the garage, they'll shoot on sight."
"I look forward to it."
Ghost gripped his rifle harder at her words, Don't be bloody stupid.
A few agonizing minutes of silence went by before Soap's voice could be heard, "Alejandro, Kiera - Diego's dead. I've got the keycard."
"Badass, Sergeant," Kiera complimented. "I'm coming back down from the second floor. I overheard one of the guards saying they found a body. Alejandro, I think we're fucked."
"Copy that, senora. Just stay sharp. We're in the calm for right now."
"Alejandro, security checkpoint up ahead before you get to where Sin Nombre is. I'm here."
"Aye."
"How'd she get there so fast?" Soap asked as he and Alejandro were descending the elevator.
"Senora moves like a cat, Hermano," Alejandro chuckled. "She'll probably have PID on Sin Nombre before we even get there."
"Let's hope so."
"Ghost, can you cover exterior? I'm hearing more and more guards coming this way." Kiera said over the comm.
"Copy that. Covering exterior now."
"Alejandro, Soap - breaching for entry into Sin Nombre's penthouse."
Kiera took her pistol and positioned it to where the barrel was horizontal to her forearm, preparing to use it as a makeshift set of brass knuckles to save on ammunition. She went to open the door, stating she was informing the guard on a possible intruder. The guard opened the door and Kiera didn't hesitate to attack, using the barrel of the pistol to hit him in the nose before hitting him in the jugular as well as the inside of his elbow, disarming him before taking his weapon and stabbing him in the neck with the tip of the barrel. It was a morbid and gruesome scene, but Kiera had seen worse. "Victor 1-1, I'm in. Bring the snake camera."
"Copy that. On your six."
Soap and Alejandro stepped over the body of Kiera's previous work to see her standing at the French doors that housed El Sin Nombre on the other side.
"Snake Cam is set. Time to get PID on El Sin Nombre." Alejandro sighed.
"Let's put a face to the nameless."
"The shipment from Spain arrived on schedule-"
"Boss, we should move!"
"Do not interrupt me when I'm working! If there's a fucking problem, then solve it!"
"I-I can assure you my men will conclude the arrangement and the packages will be in place--"
"Sin Nombre, we have to go now!"
Sin Nombre sighed before hanging up the phone, "Let's go, then."
"No fucking way!" Soap whispered in shock.
"What is it?"
"The Sicaria I met downstairs - Valeria - She's El Sin Nombre."
"Valeria?" Alejandro asked, the name pinging nostalgia to him. "Are you sure, Hermano?"
"Yes."
"We have to move," Alejandro said before tuning in to his comm. "Graves, Sin Nombre is posing as a female sicaria. We're moving in. You set?"
"Check."
"Ghost?"
"Ready."
"Take her alive."
"This is going to be fun." Kiera noted as she watched Alejandro kick the door open with a powerful thrust of his leg, he and Soap taking the first shots. I haven't fought a woman in a while...
Alejandro and Soap took the first shots, taking out two guards and clearing the way for Kiera to go after Valeria after seeing her shoot through the nearby door with one guard close by. She kept her weapon out, ready to take fire when the guard hit the gun from her hands, using his elbow to hit directly to her nose. Through blurry vision and pure adrenaline, she steadied herself, looking up at the man who was going to shoot her before seeing blood coming from his mouth.
He had been shot - a bullet clean through the nearby window.
Ghost had saved her life.
Soap and Alejandro took the left, seeing more guards piling in from the area and going first to clear them out. Removing the balaclava from her head, she used the cotton fabric to rid her nose of the blood and looked ahead. Valeria stood with a smirk on her face, eager.
"You sneaky punta," She scoffed. "Coming in here like this."
"Well," Kiera shrugged. "Quit making it too damn easy."
"You know you made a big mistake, right?" Valeria snarled in Spanish.
Kiera opened her arms, taunting her, "I'm right here. What're you going to do about it?"
Valeria charged at her, Kiera blocking the first blow with her elbow before Valeria delivered a powerful thrust to her abdomen, causing her to hunch over briefly. Kiera then created a hook with her right arm and punched her in the collarbone before grabbing her right arm and forcing it behind her back and shoving her to the nearby wall. Kiera was one for smart fighting, but Valeria was a brute force of nature. She was a challenge, to say the least. With Valeria's left arm above her head, she planted her feet before turning her torso, delivering a powerful blow to Kiera's temple.
Now angry, Kiera delivered a powerful punch to Valeria's sternum, causing her to cough in defeat. With the advantage, Kiera then used her leg to hit behind Valeria's knee, knocking her down completely.
Baring her teeth, Valeria used her free hand to punch the sensitive tissue above Kiera's knee, causing her to stumble backward. Using her right elbow, Kiera was able to block herself from a potential break of the nose as Valeria had full intentions to use her forehead to knock her. "And fucking stay down." Kiera shouted at her.
"Fuck you, punta."
"What good is that gonna do you, huh?" A strong hum of Graves' helicopter could be heard as it was preparing to land on the roof of the mansion while Alejandro and Soap finished off the remaining cartel members.
With another brief struggle, Kiera was able to contain Valeria and escort her - forcefully escort her - towards the beam of Graves' spotlight, knocking her behind her knees to force her to surrender.
"On your knees!" Graves warned, watching her attempt to stand up again.
"I kneel for no one, motherfucker!" She shouted.
"A bullet will make you kneel," Graves replied, watching her stay on her knees. "Atta girl."
"Keep the target secure, I'll cover." Alejandro stated, nodding at Kiera as if he were asking if she was okay with his eyes. He knew the women were fighting like dogs and by the looks of them, aside from the obvious, it was hard to tell who was winning. Both women had red faces, blood coming from their lips, and messy hair.
"El Sin Nombre." Soap scoffed, forcing Valeria to her feet.
"My name is Valeria." She spat.
"Hiding in plain sight."
"Hiding?" She scoffed. "I'm everywhere, soldier."
Graves stepped down from the helicopter, smirking, "That's good. So are we. Let's go."
She was forced into the helicopter, looking back over her shoulder at Alejandro, the two sharing an immense gaze with the other. "Hermano, what's up?" Soap asked him, nudging his shoulder.
"Valeria, I know her!" He replied, leaving Soap to host a confused glance at what Alejandro had just said.

My Helluva Boss demon OC! I have no backstory for her other than the fact she’s probably friends with Loona. Bottom right is her height compared to Stolas (although she can also shrink down to any height she wants).
While Blitzo thinks he’s just Stolas’s plaything, Cara is actually Stolas’s plaything as she’s really only using him for money (when her job isn't paying well). But later they kind of have a polycule thing going on and Sicaria offers to help out I.M.P. because she loves going to the human realm as animals to mess with people and steal things!
Her name comes from another OC I made as a little kid named “Sicara.” I added an “i” because I realized “sicario” (Spanish for hitman) is very similar and fits the theme of the show LOL

SKY//FLOOD - The Huntress - Blooming Rose (wip)
Bancroft. The place Veca first appeared, and Calee's once-home. A big town, now ruins, on the southern edge of Myera Rainforest. As her story went, Veca was attacked here by Sicara and rescued by Calee, and went on to search for Jade. It's as good a place as anywhere else to look for her...
Calee and Taylor search in and around Monsa and Deilos. Miko, Aubrey, Leo, and Staxia search Seipora. Jade and Corvin search Mt. Balos, Bancroft, and anywhere inbetween. They each team up specifically to stay safer - obviously, they aren't the only ones looking for Veca.
Oh. Oh, faaar from it. In the town square of Bancroft, where the mossy, broken, dried fountain and rusted metal fence sit on cracked cobble, Pierce Arturo and his Reapers sit in conversation. Jade and Corvin sneak up closer, hidden within a nearby red-brick ruin and cautious of any would-be sentries.
Pierce: That's what I'm tellin’ you! She ain't fuckin' hea'!
He seems to be talking to someone with that thick accent of his... but none of his subordinates are responding. A quiet squabbling in a deep tone calls back to him; Pierce huffs angrily.
Pierce: Th'fuck?! List'n, jackass, I'm tellin' ya: The zappy bitch ain't fuckin' in this shithole! Shutcha yap, cripplin' bischap.
Corvin narrows his eyes. He's obviously talking to someone.
Piece suddenly grows even more agitated, shoving off the fountain's edge, holding his palm against his right ear, and shouting.
Pierce: No! No, you listen to me, bitch! I am sick and tired 'a yer shit! Ya don't get'ta waltz ya shady Hunter ass up in my face and order me around like this! We had a fuckin' deal, and you are not calling it off!
Jade leans forward a slight bit over the edge of the rubble to get a better shot of the conversation, accidentally knocking a few bits loose. Immediately, Pierce and several men snap to Jade's direction. Pierce himself finds himself smiling sadistically as he marches closer, dropping his arm down to his side. The shape of a slim, silver headpiece on his right side shimmers in the hazy afternoon light.
Pierce: Well. Hah. We ain't found that Vermin, but we sure as hell found sumthin' else. ???: What? What is it?
The woman's voice becomes ever so faintly clear through the quiet. Jade and Corvin begin to back up; the sound of rubble being crushed underfoot signals their being cornered in.
Pierce: You know Vermin's little girlfriend and the bastard who helped broke us up? Hehahah... ???: Wh- Jade?! No- No! Pierce, stand the fuck down! You are not to har--
Pierce rips out the device and crushes it in his hand as his Sigil glows across his lower left ribs. His smiles nice and wide with eyes gleaming with sadistic excitement. Corvin quickly grabs Jade's arm and makes a break for it, coating his opposite shoulder in deep violet electricity and shoving the man behind them aside. Pierce calls after them with a hint of joy in his voice.
Pierce: Where ya goin', ya lil' shit?! Come back he' an' getcher just-fuckin-reward for stabbin' us in the back like you did!!
---
Pierce: You're goin' back in pieces to that Hunter, like it or not, Vin!
Corvin growls low at Pierce, his broken arm slowly draining away at what's left of his energy. Jade's bruised cheek and bleeding belly stain her flame-coated silhouette. The two steadily back up, arm-in-arm, away from the juggernaut before them. Cut, burnt, and shocked, nothing seems to phase him. Did he get stronger? He must have. Corvin managed to take him down before, but now...
Corvin: Back down, Pierce. You know Quartz will come for your ass if you do anything to us.
Pierce scoffs snidely, cocking his head with an unimpressed sneer.
Pierce: Yea? You think I care, Vin? You killed so many of my boys, you two... it's only fair I knock off a few 'a hers, too.
A loud gunshot-like sound startles him. It's so familiar, too... Is Calee nearby? No, she can't be. She should be in Deilos... Pierce sighs, flexing his hands as he closes the distance quicker.
Jade: Back the hell off! Pierce: Shutcher yap, bitch!
Pierce skips forward, throwing a punch directly at Jade. She rolls forward, scatching the back of Pierce's right leg as she passes him. He throws down his hand, catching Jade by the middle of her shirt, and hoisting her upward. Corvin throws his open palm against Pierce's chest unhindered, surging the brute of a man with his volts. Pierce laughs and slams Corvin backward into a wall with his free hand, then throws Jade away and down into the broken pavement. She shouts as a loud crack rings out; she bounces back and finds debilitating amounts of pain invading her chest.
Pierce laughs as he takes up Corvin with both hands, repeatedly slamming him into the wall over and over, as blood begins to splatter against the wall. A distant look takes to his eyes. Pierce whips Corvin back at Jade, throwing his ragdolled body against hers. His back is bloody and smashed, Jade is stamped with his blood as he hits her. Pierce grins wide as he slowly stomps toward them.
Pierce: This feels right. This feels great, beatin' a lil' traitor like you, Vin. I should do it more often.
With no regard to Jade at all, Pierce stomps on her left leg as he passes over, making her scream in pain as the bone snaps instantly. She writhes in pain, seething with sharp breaths. He stops just in front of Corvin, crouching down and shoving him over onto his back to glare him down in the eyes.
Pierce: I'm gonna drag your lil' pompous ass back to the Gash, and we're gonna have a hell of a time, Vin. Just you and me. No need for the trash, you know... Now geddup.
Corvin strains to breathe, weakly gazing up at Pierce. Grown impatient, Pierce picks him up by a tuft of his shirt like a sack and stands tall, dragging his along as he leaves Jade broken.
???: Arturo, I told you to stand the fuck down.
Pierce freezes as the woman's voice rings out. Jade sees the silhouette of a woman step toward her... digging her hands under Jade's back and knees and picking her up. Jade winces as her left leg jostles, making the woman sigh.
???: God damn it, Pierce. Why the fuck would you do this? Corvin, I can understand, but Jade... You've never even met her. She didn't deserve this, she is innocent.
Pierce huffs, whipping around and glaring at the woman. Jade can't quite get a good look at her quite yet... the sun's bright light make her out like a shadow.
Pierce: She got in the way, Rose, and she's with that Vermin bitch. Had it comin' to her, 'specially with this prick at'er side.
Rose holds Jade tight, her expression unclear... but her voice makes her sound as if she's holding back a furious rage.
Rose: Just- Drop the kid and I'll forget this little contrivance ever happened. You and your croneys get the fuck out of Bancroft. You go off where I never have to see you again... I don't need someone who can't follow simple orders, and I'll blow a hole in you if you refuse.
Pierce clicks his tongue and drops Corvin. He falls limply, like a corpse... but after several seconds on the ground, continues breathing as before, though even more strained. He seems to be on the edge of death itself...
Pierce: Gah, fine. But next time I see this bastard, though, he is dead, got it? Rose: Please, just get fucking lost, already. Pierce: Feh. Hunter bitch...
Pierce marches off with an air of dissatisfaction. Left alone, Rose sets down Jade, ever so carefully, and steps over her to Corvin. Jade hears the nasty sound of flesh peeling from stone as Rose turns him over.
Rose: Jesus fucking christ... What a fucking monster. You're still alive, right? Corvin?
Corvin struggles to turn his gaze to Rose, but makes enough of an effort to tell her "yes." She breathes with a heavy air.
Rose: Good. This might sting a bit, but it'll keep you alive. Bear with it.
Rose places her hands just over Corvin's back and steadies her breathing. A gradual warmth, like warm water, gently fills his body... a familiar sensation, at that. His back stings horribly as something changes... Jade watches as Rose treats Corvin, an almost non-existent bluish glow radiating from the upper-left and lower right of her back.
Rose huffs as she pulls back, panting as if a great deal of strength was taken from her. She wipes her head with her right forearm and stands up.
Rose: That should be enough for you to breathe. Can you get up?
Corvin finds the pain from his entire back significantly lessened, but still horrible. He groans, fruitlessly trying to push himself up. Rose sighs, bending down to help him up.
Rose: Go on, grab my shoulder. I'll help you up.
Doing as he is told, Corvin places a hand on Rose's lowered shoulder. She takes hold of his hand with her own, slowly standing up and taking Corvin's other hand with her free one. He groans in pain as he rises to his feet, wobbling as Rose cautiously lets go, holding her hands out ready to catch him.
Rose: Hey, hey- Take a breath. You'll be fine. He ain't gonna hurt you again, not today.
Corvin's breathing is heavy and labored. He nods, straining to stay standing. Rose cautiously takes a step back toward Jade, glancing down to be careful not to step on her.
Rose: Easy. I'll pick up the girl and see you somewhere safe, aight?
Corvin still can't respond outside of a nod. He watches Rose from the corner of his eye, watching as she once again picks Jade up from her back and knees like before.
The two finally get good looks of Rose as she steps up beside Corvin. She's a little tan, with icy blue eyes and hair flipped over her left side and the left shaved short and messy. A reddish scar marks beneath her right eye, and she holds a large gunblade sheathed to her back. A faded red shirt underlies an open black combat jacket, with black jeans and black and silver boots. Her eyes have a worn look to them, as if she's been through a lot, but...
*She's pretty.* It's the first thought through Jade's shadowed mind, and briefly startles her.

Lingga Yoni Candi Simping
Akhir Januari kemarin sempat mengunjungi sisa-sisa bangunan yang terletak di daerah
Kademangan, Blitar area selatan. Masyarakat setempat mengatakan bahwa ini merupakan tempat
pemakaman dari Raden Wijaya pada 1309. Bangunan ini juga disebut dalam Kitab
Negarakertagama Pupuh XLVII bagian tiga:
“Ring saka matryaruna lina nirang narendra, drak pinratista jina wimbha sire puri jro,
hantahpura ywa panelah sikana sudharmma, saiwa pratista cari teki muwah ri simping.”
Artinya:

C O D E X : T H E U R Z A R A F A M I L Y
The Urzara family has always been a proud Cyrodilic family. Their ties can be traced back to the famous hero Reman Cyrodil I, founder of the Reman Empire. In previous times, the higher echelon of the family even liked to believe that their lineage could be traced back to Empress Hestra of the First Alessian Empire, and by extension Alessia herself. However, the truth behind these claims was never verified, as many records from the First Era are sparse and contradictory to each other. The current generations aren't as adamant about their claims but remain proud of their bloodline nonetheless. It is especially popular among the family to name their children after famous Emperors.
They are a longstanding family, one of the most ancient that survive to this day. Their loyalty has always been fervently placed in the Empire even throughout different dynasties as duty to the Empire itself has always been put before their duty to any individual emperor. As such determined vassals, their status as nobility has not disappeared, though their exact proximity to the throne tends to fluctuate depending on their relationship with whatever individual is currently in rule.
They are a military family, with many of their lineage reaching high ranks in the Imperial Legion. They have also had the largest percentage of family members and bannermen to be given a seat in the Imperial Council over the course of the Empire's history and have produced a considerably disproportionate amount of High Chancellors. Although at times an Urzaran High Chancellor has acted as regent in absence of leadership, no Urzara has ever become Emperor. It is said among the populace that the Urzara have held such stations for so long along with why multiple dynasties have put faith in them is because of the majority of the family's commitment to stability and communal well-being instead of ambition.
The current main family (excluding side branches and bannermen) consists of three living generations. The current tree starts with the Imperial Battlemage Naro Urzara. He fell in love with and wed Chancellor Hestrana, who was born Aphrodine of the Caerellius family from Kvatch. Aphrodine renamed herself for unspecified reasons and chose to call herself Hestrana in honor of the famous Empress Hestra; a tribute to her new husband's familial traditions. Hestrana bore Naro three children in his lifetime. Naro died at the age of thirty-eight from what we know as tuberculosis.
Hestrana continued her service as a Chancellor after her husband's death. She and Naro's three children were named Evander(eldest), Viatrix(second-born), and Reman(third-born). Evander was born two years into their marriage. Viatrix was born eleven years later, and Reman was born one year after Viatrix. All three children had an inseperable bond with each other; not only were they siblings, but they were the closest of friends with loyalty to each other that seemed unending. Reman died tragically early into adulthood, and Hestrana decided to retire as a Chancellor and invite his young widow to come live with her in Skingrad. She is currently as strong-willed as ever at the age of seventy-seven, and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Reman was the youngest child born to Hestrana and Naro and behaved as such up into his teen years. He admired his elder brother Evander, and he and his sister Viatrix were often mistaken for twins due to their closeness in age and their strong bond. Reman was a very forgiving and gentle person; he was as brave in heart as he was young. He fell in love with Lady Sicara Carvain of Bruma when she was 18 and he was 21. He openly expressed his interest in her to her family, and eager to bolster relations with the Imperial Council and Legion, they gleefully offered him her hand in marriage.
Lady Sicara, young and rebellious, did not reciprocate his feelings at first; instead she fancied an Altmer ambassador named Cinaaril and began an affair with him during her 2 year betrothal to Reman. However, Sicara soon found herself pregnant with Cinaaril's child. Cinaaril, not wanting his Altmer bloodline to be despoiled by Nibenean blood, refused to legitimize the child when Sicara informed him of her pregnancy and promptly ended all relations with her before returning to Auridon. When word got out, Sicara's reputation was tarnished and she was promptly disowned by her family; the betrothal being cancelled in turn.
Reman, however, had not given up on the girl he loved. Instead, he asked her to marry him anyway. Reman also asked for her blessing to declare the child as his legal offspring regardless if she would marry him or not; that way both she and the child could be taken care of by his family's wealth even should something happen to him. Reman's care for both Sicara and her child moved her greatly, and she not only allowed Reman to adopt her son but agreed to marry him as well. She fell in love with Reman, and the Urzara family welcomed her with open arms, funding a lavish celebration for their marriage.
Tragically, Reman was killed at the age of twenty-three in an ambush by Daedric forces, leading to a battle which his superior officer and elder brother Evander went on to win and name "The Battle for Reman" in his honor. The grief and stress caused by the news of his murder sent the 8 months pregnant Sicara into labor, from which a healthy son was born; named Roman after his father. He may not have had Reman's blood, but he was very much his son according to Sicara. Even Reman's mother Hestrana remarked at his birth, "He has not his blood, but he very much has his eyes...those tell-tale sparkling eyes and that cheeky smile that I've only ever seen on Reman." Sicara was now a widow at only twenty years old, but she found support and kindness in her mother-in-law Hestrana. Hestrana left her position as High Chancellor and invited the young widow to live with her.
To this day, Sicara has not remarried, nor has she considered any suitors. She has hidden no details about her relationship with Reman including her infidelity during their betrothal. She has done much to spread the story despite its inclusion of her transgressions, as she believes that Reman's unconditional love was the truest mark of his character and that a person with a heart such as his should have their story told. The story of Reman and Sicara has become a famous one among young maidens and lovers during the ten years since Reman's death, spreading beyond even Cyrodil due to Sicara's determination to keep his memory alive.
Viatrix has always been called the wildfire out of the three siblings. If Evander represented the mind of the family and Reman the heart, then Viatrix was definitely the soul. While her brothers both pursued military careers, she instead sought a more political career, culminating in her being named Countess of the Imperial City at the mere age of twenty-four. A beautiful woman sought by many, she has turned down many suitors in her day. Her heart was finally captured by a commoner known as Letreius Terenus. They were wed four months after she turned thirty-one. Though struggling at first to bear any children, after eight years of trying, she finally gave birth to a healthy pair of twins named Adom and Adomina when she was thirty-nine years old. Sadly, just two years later, her husband was murdered; the full circumstances of which are not known. Viatrix is currently forty-five years old, her twins the age of six.
Evander, currently fifty-six years of age, is Commanding General of the Imperial Legion in Cyrodil. Outside of military work, he has always involved himself in community improvement projects and is well-known for working side-by-side with the laborers he hires. A man driven by ethics and communal welfare, there isn't a thing he would impose on those under his command that he would not do himself. His military strategy has been praised as well for his focus on the preservation of both military and civilian lives.
Evander's marriage to the mystery woman Umbra Urzara when he was twenty-eight caught the attention of many. No one knew who she was or where she'd come from. While most expected the heir of the family to marry for political purposes, this did not seem to be the case. Umbra Urzara was an enigma to many. She did not get involved in many political affairs, at least none that brought the public's eye upon her. She was quiet and reserved, but unknowingly became somewhat of a mundane icon due to young noble women seeking to imitate her demeanor in hopes of capturing her otherworldly and ethereal presence for themselves.
In truth, Umbra was far more otherworldly than the public would ever know. Umbra was not even a real person at all. She was, in fact, the mortal disguise of the Daedric Lord Nocturnal. It wasn't the first time a Daedra has done such, but for the reclusive and mysterious Nocturnal to do so was quite unusual. She'd always been one to influence the realm in smallest ways, particularly through her influence of luck. The ways of Nocturnal have always been unfathomable; this act even more so. The most baffling twist in this series of events was the birth of a child named Daeris. Over a year after her birth, both Umbra and the child disappeared. Evander was heartbroken for years, burying himself in his work and community and military service.
Nocturnal's actions did not go unnoticed, however. Molag Bal, who had long held a particular disdain for the Urzara family because of Reman Urzara's efforts to disrupt his various cabals, took note of Nocturnal's influence and perceived a potential threat. So he set his followers upon the family to destroy them and any influence Nocturnal had gained over the mortals' Empire through her machinations. While he himself was preoccupied with other schemes, his mortal followers in the "Cult of the Vitiate" became a dedicated thorn in the family's side. They attacked the family repetitively and viciously after Evander's child was born, but slowly ceased their afflictions after both his wife and daughter disappeared. They would make themselves known only sparsely throughout the years since then; simply for the purpose of remaining a present nuisance to the family.
When they finally decided to launch an attack of great scale, it resulted in the death of Reman Urzara. The cult had struck a fatal nerve, prompting Evander to retaliate in full force. He defeated their amassed forces and took no living prisoners in "The Battle for Reman". But he did not stop there. Evander traced the Cult of the Vitiate back to their roots and drove them out of every hiding place they had. He slaughtered every last member of the Vitiates found throughout Tamriel; a due price in his mind for the loss of his brother, wife, and child. If any Vitiates still remain, they have not shown themselves since their Cult's demise. There is a handsome bounty offered by the Urzara family themselves for anyone who so calls themselves a Vitiate, or anyone who can be proven to be linked to the Cult in previous or current years.
Through all of their public service and charity, there is also a very dark and secret section of their history.Though unknown to the public, the Urzara family has aligned itself with several families with links to the Dark Brotherhood. Among such are the Caerellius family from which Hestrana was born and the Terenus family whom Viatrix's husband Letreius was from, though there have been more since the organization's original formation.
In fact, it was Viatrix who told Nocturnal to give Daeris to the Dark Brotherhood. There she would be kept safe from the Vitiates and trained in skills to help her survive, but only for the hefty price of her service. Nocturnal agreed and placed Daeris in the care of the Imperial City matron, Sitha Abelas, and she has been a member of the Dark Brotherhood and loyal agent of her mother ever since. Whatever purpose Nocturnal created Daeris for, she does not know, but she is aware that the Daedra has something planned for her. That day has not come yet, but it may be closer than she thinks.

"He won't do it if we keep our damn mouths shut" Sicara hissed, "and that means, all of you, shutting up and keeping her out of sight if he comes".
Mara the red bride nodded. "Sicara's right. If he does indeed come for one of us, she will need to stay out of sight".

I've made no progress on the place names, but I did decide on a surname for Sicara. The Aztec goddess of volcanoes, fire, et al, is named Chantico, so...Sicara Kanteek.
Like so many facts I establish about Kavrillia, I don't know that it will ever show up in the book, but at least I know it, now!
