9 Anime to Watch to Feel Like This 👇🏾

The alternative title/concept for this list was "Anime Featuring The Zaddiests of Daddies" but, you know. Consistency or whatever. When I saw the gif, however, I cackled so loud that I figured it still captured The Vibe ✨ (that being #fatherless) Considering this context, some recommendations are slightly longer than the usual bite size serving of 12-24 episodes but you won't regret indulging. Spy x Family (series) - There is something so wholesome about the fate of the world as he knows it relying on how convincingly he can portray a Good Father despite his own origin story. Loid Forger, in a mission to maintain peace, creates the perfect family through any means necessary. Doubt he realized, in doing so, he'd create a home for himself and the oddballs helping to keep up the ruze.

Buddy Daddies (series) - The life of hitmen Rei Suwa and Kazuki Kurusu get a bit more messy when one of their hits leaves them with a pretty sizable loose end. The titular character eventually falls under the supervision of Aki Hayakawa (and later Kishibe *swoon*) who has a strong single-dad-who-works-two-jobs-who-loves-his-kids-and-never-stops type vibe.

Blue Exorcist (series + movie) - When your dad is Satan, the bar is literally in hell for the man who steps up to raise you. Even so, LOOK AT THE DRIP. Just remember to skip to Season 2 after episode 17 or Google the proper order to watch.

Uesugi Kenshin (VA: Miura Hiroaki): I am averse to yandere characters, but in this one he did, he's a tsundere. NOW I LIKE KENSHIN BY ASSOCIATION. Miura's drama cd is one of my favorites, sad but romantic.

Naoe Kanetsugu (VA: Nakagawa Akinori): None. I don't know if he's done sfw ones, but I'd be willing to listen to them, just so I can add more Kanetsugu voice reference lol

Kennyo (VA: Shingaki Tarusuke): Hehe. Hehehehe. Heh. It's been a while, I want to hear him again. Especially when he whispers against my ear amidst a packed train. I also liked his cute and flustered daycare employee cd. HA. SE. BAE.

This game is, like, the treasure trove of R18 voice actors. 13 out of 17 have done at least one R18 drama cd. Well done, IkeRev!

Jonah Clemence (VA: Hanae Natsuki): Yes, early on. I think he stopped after he married. Listened to two of his CDs, his voice is too soft for my tastes. He does good moaning and whining.

Zero (VA: Kumagai Kentarou): MY LOVE, MY CURRENT OBSESSION. He does desperate, drugged out, and angry-at-life so well. His moans and kisses are 💯 I prefer his boyishly youthful voice than his deeper one. When he hits that high-pitched whine *chef's kiss* He comes so prettily *dreamy sigh*

Kyle Ash (VA: Furukawa Makoto): What a man, what a voice. Personally I liked his earlier works because there were more variety in the plots and characters, but I think he works best with plotty CDs and/or emotional drama. Rouge et Noir comes to mind; REUNION for the drama. I enjoy the CDs where his voice is cooler, not too high-pitched, not too deep. He sighs when he kisses, and it sounds divine.

Ray Blackwell (VA: Shimono Hiro): He did a few early in the r18 drama cd years. I remember the one where he was a yandere butler. It was also a mobile game, but I didn't know which came first (I think the game). There was also that teacher x student cd. He also did Wasurenagusa as Todo Heisuke iirc.

Sirius Oswald (VA: Suwabe Junichi): None. This man was born with a velvet voice bUT FOR WHAT

Luka Clemence (VA: Enoki Junya): He has a recognizable voice (makes me think of aluminium idkw). He did an angsty incest one and a servant to a lady one. They're okay. His orgasms need more work, though.

Fenrir Godspeed (VA: Kakihara Tetsuya): Semi-active. My fave is the one where he's childhood friends with the MC and has a badboy/playboy rep but he's actually a virgin I think, or at least acts like a blushing maiden when he did it with the MC (who takes control of the sex). He's vocal in this one; he cried at one point because he came prematurely. It's funny and I love it.

Seth Hyde (VA: Murata Taishi): PLEASE. PLEASE LISTEN TO KOIBITO VS NIJIGEN VOL 1. HE'S JEALOUS OF MC'S OSHI LMAO IT'S SO META AND HILARIOUS I LOVE IT.

Harr Silver (VA: Terashima Junta): I'll buy any r18 cd this man makes, period.

Loki Genetta (VA: Murase Ayumu): He did one. Like Hanae, his voice is too soft for my taste. He did, however, once choked on a candy trying to emulate blowjob noises for a BLCD, I don't know what else to tell you.

Sebastian (VA: Morishima Shuta): None. After watching him in Cybird events, I'd probably laugh at him or pity him. I can no longer imagine him doing R18 based on his Cybird hyper host image.

Nasu no Yoichi (VA: Suzuki Ryouta): I know he did some before, heard a couple of his. Could've been better. (Tbf, this was during the time when R18 drama CDs were just starting out. So I think many key players were new to it, compared with BLCD.)

Kurama (VA: Morikawa Toshiyuki): I can't have Sephiroth whispering in my ear lol. That aside, I really couldn't imagine him doing R18 because he's known to voice iconic characters. And yet here we are. His Yamazaki Susumu in Wasurenagusa took me out because of his drunk line, "Nyaruhodo." I will never look at Sephiroth the same way again lmao. But yeah, I haven't listened to his works properly because they were made years ago.

Kitsuji Sueharu (VA: Komatsu Shohei): MY NEW FAVE, MY NEW LOVE, MY NEW OBSESSION OH MY GOD?! I haven't bought any of his works (WHICH I SHOULD REMEDY IN THE FUTURE) but from the sample of this one CD I – I JUST. H-He's good. I love the sound of his panting 😭

Tsubasa – A girl who goes to the same school as Yoshino Junpei. She is at the age of becoming aware of her status. Sotomura-sensei – Yoshino’s homeroom teacher. The pants he wore was stolen by Itadori. Yoshino Nagi – Yoshino’s mother. She aims to be a woman who doesn’t go well with green onion. Bakery shop assistant – The assistant to the bakery named “BAKERYBAKERYBAKERY” where Nanami used to go.

Nanami’s former boss – A representative of adult who has a close sense of distance to other people and must use foreign terms in his dialogues. The evidence is in tankobon vol 4, you must check it, OK? Kanemori – A monkey who collects money and gives Getou 105 million. Saitou-san (mother) – Bewildered by Getou because he said “Satou is better name!” Saitou-san (daughter) – She was possessed by curse spirits, but later they are exorcised by Getou.

Kanada Taichi – Victim of Yasohachi bridge curse ①. He was attacked when he complained to the management company of his condominium. Shimada Osamu – Victim of Yasohachi bridge curse ②. He was a problematic student during his middle school, but not as bad as Megumi.   Yamato Hiroshi – Victim of Yasohachi bridge curse ③. Generally similar to Kanada and Shimada. Idiot A – A delinquent underclassman during Megumi’s time in middle school. Has experience beaten up by Megumi.

Fujinuma - A delinquent underclassman during Megumi’s time in middle school. Called his sister “Nee-chan”. Fujinuma (older sister) – One night when she was second years of middle school, she went to Yasohachi bridge together with Tsumiki. Takeda – A janitor in Megumi’s alma mater Urami East Middle School. He is very helpful to Megumi. Tasuke – Appeared as a flashing image to shikigami user who fought against Getou as his sight becomes clear.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

I’ve been watching anime for WAY too many years, certainly longer than I’ve worked in the education profession.  It is ridiculously difficult to find good portrayals of teachers in ANY mediums, in both Japanese or American entertainment (unless, of course, the show/movie has a teacher as the protagonist).  Usually they are the butt of jokes, “stupid adults” who are just there to not get the hip references that the cool kids throw out.  They get in the way of fun, they prevent the hero from saving the world or going to team practice by assigning pointless extra work.  They yell and nag about the talented hero not having a future unless they study.  They are lazy people who have given up and sit at their desk sleeping or muttering about needing a drink.  In some cases (like a number of anime) they might be completely absent--a figure walking out the door at the start of lunch, a figure walking in to end whatever ridiculousness was happening before class begins.  They are the timid, fearful workers that are forced to bow before the bad kid, the son of the superintendent, or the brilliant genius that’s smarter than them.  There have been several shows I’ve watched with a number of scenes taking place in a school that you almost NEVER even see a staff member.

It wasn’t until recently that I finally found some shows with some honestly amazing teachers, and it’s been great to see my profession portrayed in the way that I feel it should be.  To see them working hard and selflessly at their jobs.  To see them acting as parents/mentors to kids that don’t have anyone else to look up to.  To see them fight for their kids, encourage them, and pick them up when they’ve lost.  To see them affect their students in positive ways that I HOPE I’m able to do for my own kids.
